Computer Science Essays
Writing an essay on the subject of "Computer Science Essays" can pose a unique set of
challenges. First and foremost, the field of computer science is vast and continually evolving,
encompassing various sub-disciplines, theories, and practical applications. Narrowing down the
focus to a specific aspect or topic within computer science is crucial to avoid an overly broad and
unfocused essay.
Moreover, staying current with the latest developments in the field can be demanding.
Technology and trends in computer science are constantly changing, requiring the writer to
conduct thorough research and ensure the information presented is up-to-date and accurate. This
adds an extra layer of complexity as the field's dynamic nature may render certain information
obsolete within a short period.
Crafting a compelling essay in computer science also involves the challenge of striking a balance
between technical details and accessibility. It's essential to convey complex concepts in a way
that is understandable to a broad audience, especially if the essay is intended for readers with
varying levels of technical expertise.
Additionally, the writer must pay attention to the structure and organization of the essay.
Properly outlining the introduction, body, and conclusion while ensuring a logical flow of ideas
can be challenging, especially when dealing with intricate technical content.
In conclusion, writing an essay on computer science demands not only a strong grasp of the
subject matter but also effective communication skills to make the content accessible to a diverse
audience. Balancing technical depth with clarity and staying current in a rapidly evolving field
are integral aspects that contribute to the complexity of this task.

Examples Of Altruism In Angela s Ashes
Frank McCourt uses many motifs in the memoir Angela s Ashes, including the
motif of altruism. It is appears quite frequently in the memoir. Altruism is a
philanthropic idea in which a person does good deeds or has concern to/for other
people. When a person a person commits an act of benevolence, it is usually an act
of selfless generosity. However, these benevolent acts can also be an act of greed.
Frank McCourtemploys both selfless and self indulged acts of altruism in Angela s
Ashes. While describing the misery of his childhood, Frank McCourt makes use of
the motif of altruism to develop conflicts, character traits and motivations, and
universal themes. Frank McCourt through the incorporation of this motif develops
the theme: It is not... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Altruistic acts with hopes of getting gains is not true altruism. In Angela s Ashes,
there are many of these deeds in which the characters, organization, and society
itself act selfishly. When Fintan wants to give away his reward from answering
the question, and is asked why he responds by saying They are my friends. (157)
Fintan is not giving away the apple peels to his friends out of the goodness in his
heart, he gives the reward away so that he can make more friends. There are self
interested motivations behind the benevolent deeds of organizations as well. The
St. Vincent de Paul is portrayed as charitable organization who help the less
fortunate; however under the goodwill, their motivations to be better than the
Protestants is clearly visible. The St. Vincent de Paul, want to attract more people
to the religion of Catholicism, and will do anything to accomplish that goal,
including even and they ll give you the drawers of their arse. (65) when the women
threaten the men in there with the Quakers. (65) The men who run the St. Vincent
de Paul are afraid of losing the number of followers they have and are in constant
competition with other religions. Likewise, Frank, too, has an inner motive when he
is helping Mr. Hannon deliver the coal. Delivering the coal makes Frank feel like he
is contributing his two pence to the family; he is very
Policy and Pestle Analysis
PESTLE Analysis
A PESTLE analysis for Mydin must consider all the important external factors
impacting on the company. These factors may have political, economic, social and
culture, technological, legal or environmental dimensions. These forces, although out
of the company s control, may have an impact on the success of any future plans. By
considering them, a company can change direction, build contingencies, identify new
opportunities or do nothing at all. It is an important part in the strategic decision
making.
Political analysis
The political analysis must include the impact of local and national government, and
the international situation. The Economic analysis needs to investigate the influences

Current trend indicate that customers have moved towards one stop and bulk
shopping, which is due to a variety of social changes. Mydin have, therefore,
increased the amount of non food items available for sale. Demographic changes
such as the aging population, an increase in female workers and a decline in home
meal preparation mean that Mydin are also focusing on added value products and
services.
In addition, the focus is now towards; the own label share of the business mix, the
supply chain and other operational improvements, which can drive costs out of the
business. National retailers are increasingly reticent to take on new suppliers (Clarke,
Bennison and Guy, 1994; Datamonitor Report, 2003). The type of goods and services
demanded by consumers is a function of their social conditioning and their
consequent attitudes and beliefs. One example of Mydin adapting its product mix is
to accommodate an increased demand for organic products.
Technological factors
Technological factors are usually easier to spot, because new technologies involve
change, and change is always noticed. For instance, online shopping has had a
major impact on Mydin s recent success. Conversely, The change created by
technological advances often lead to legal problems, which is why legal analysis is
always an important part of a PESTLE analysis.

The Relationship Of Jesus And Christian Mentoring In
The...
Mentor is characterized as a wise and trusted advocate or instructor. Although
tutoring/mentoring is not in the Bible, it gives us various cases of coaching. Moses
was a great example of a mentoring relationship. The mentoring relationship among
Eli and Samuel allowed Samuel to take on tasks and obligations that were his after
Eli s demise. Jesusmentor His disciples, while Barnabas and Paul exceeded
expectations in mentoring. Jesus made His style of mentoring clear. He led so we
may follow. He stated if anybody will come after him, let them take up his cross and
follow him. Since He is our leader and we are to follow Him, Christian mentoring is a
procedure subordinate upon accommodation to Christ. Neither the mentor or mentee
controls the relationship. The way toward mentoring is portrayed by sharing, trust,
and enrichment as the life and work of the two members is changed. The mentor fills
in as a model and a confided in audience. The guide depends on the Holy Spirit to
give understanding, change lives, and educate through demonstration.
Jesus and the apostles, as well as elders in the church do their work by mentoring.
Peter states to be the example of the flock, and Paul discloses to the elders at
Ephesus. Paul demonstrates to the elders, so that they may show others. If a
Christian leader is not mentoring to that degree, he or she is not satisfying their
calling. God has filled the group of Christ with potential mentors other than the
individuals who are elders.

Chapter 1
Introduction
My project is based on Performance Evaluation of Databases. Basically testing and
analyzing the system performance, usability, reliability and measures of different
database systems using many kind of SQL queries and statement then compare the
result and finding out which one is better in terms of performance and optimization
techniques. For the evaluation purpose I have used two database systems, they are
Microsoft SQL server management 2012 and Oracle database 10g. I need to evaluate
the performance by running some set of queries on both of the systems which I used
for my evaluation purpose and have to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Predominantly evaluation performance is being done to determine how fast and
reliable database system can execute and process queries to give optimize results.
1.1 Objective
My objective of the project is to determine which database management system gives
better, efficient and optimize results after the performance evaluation techniques
applied to that specific database system. In my project I have used Microsoft SQL
server 2012 and Oracle 10 g databases. I need to effectuate which one is best to use
efficiently according to different specific measures and perspective of databases.
Current trend in the world of information technology is that relatively every
organization is managing tens of petabyte of data. There are large proportion of data
which need to be store and managed in database. So there is immense requirement of
efficient and reliable database management system. Database systems need to be
constructed in high reliability methods and techniques in terms of their functionalities
and design. System Performance is an analytical metric that must need great output
for an effective database system. Complex database system is outrageous and
difficult to analyze so performance evaluation is very important concern since
databases are one of the most compelling affair in today s business revolution.

Essay about George Washington Plunkitt of Tammany Hall
George Washington Plunkitt of Tammany Hall
Everybody is talkin these days about Tammany men growin rich on graft, but nobody
thinks of drawin the distinction between honest graft and dishonest graft. With this
sentence in the first chapter Plunkitt sets the tone for his short treatise on New York
City politics while Tammany Hall ran the show. George Washington Plunkittwas a
senator in New York during the turn of the 19th Century to the 20th Century. He
was very successful in politics, and at one time he held four offices at once and
collected salaries from three of them. G. W. Plunkitt held any one (or more offices)
in Tammany Hall for over forty years. He was a shady politician who took care of
his constituents and his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Before civil service reform, elected officials could easily remove anti Tammany
city employees and replace them with Tammany supporters in return for their work
during the campaign. This sort of spoils system encouraged young people to get
involved with politics and to love their country. According to Plunkitt (and he
gives many examples) after civil service examinations young men become
anarchists or in the worst case one joins the Spanish army and actually fights
against the same men he used to support and love. Not only did this spoils system
encourage young people, it also helped hold the United States party system
together. And that, according to Plunkitt, would all change if supporters were not
rewarded with government jobs for their work. However, the Civil Service act of
1883 did more to instigate the merit system in politics than anything else. Plunkitt s
arguments against the civil service reforms are amusing but his generalities make
his argument difficult to believe. One would assume that Plunkitt s motivation for
attacking civil service was because of his personal motivation not the reasons
presented in his Very Plain Talks on Very Practical Politics. Plunkitt clearly was a
politician for himself and his supporters, in all he cared very little about the welfare
of New York City as a whole. Other than the curse of civil service, Plunkitt also
instructed young men on the tactics and
Truth In Oedipus The King And Job
The truth is what all people seek. People throughout their lives are in the constant
pursuit of truth, and try to discover it in many different ways. In Oedipus Rex, a
tragic play written by Sophocles, Oedipus is searching the truth about why his city
is suffering and later on, about his own origins. Similarly, in the Book of Job , a
book in the The New American Bible, Job s friends, attempt to find the truth, so that
way Job would no longer have to suffer. In OedipusRex and in the Book of Job,
Oedipus and Job both seek out the truth during their stories. For the duration of the
play, Oedipus Rex, Oedipus searches for the truth about why his city Thebes is
suffering, who killed killed King Laius, and also about where he ultimately came...

Job s three friends, after seven days of silence and Job making his case, try to find
the truth about why Job is suffering in their speeches. Eliphaz in his first speech
says that if he was in Job s place, [he] would appeal to God and state [his] plea (New
American Bible Job 5.8). In this quote, Eliphaz is giving Job advice on what to do.
At this point, he still thinks that Job is good and the truth is on Job s side.
Additionally, he tells Job that God punishes, but he heals the punished so Job
should not reject God s punishment but instead he should accept it. Bildad gets
mad at Job because they have contrasting views of God because Bildad thinks that
God would not punish anyone good (Job 8.2 3). Job and his friends debate about
these things in the search for the truth. Job tells his friends that they are bad at
comforting him. He says that if they were in each other s positions then he would
do the same thing. But he would strengthen them with talk (Job 16.5). Job looks for
truth when he talks to his friends. They debate about the truth concerning who God
is and why he is punishing Job. Elihu puts his input about what he thing the truth
about God is. Elihu is angry that Job believes that he is in the right, instead of God,
also he is angry that Job s friends were not able to disprove Job s statements (Job 11
12). Elihu says that God can let the righteous suffer to
Sun Yat-Sen
Evaluate the importance of Sun Yixian s (Sun Yat sen s) role in bringing about the
1911 Revolution in China.
Sun Yat sen s role in the 1911 revolution against the Qing dynasty was an indirect
one. Sun Yat sen was exiled in the United States during the events of the Wuchang
Uprising of October 10th, 1911, hearing about it through a newspaper publication in
Denver, Colorado.[1] Many Historians view Sun s accession as the provisional
President of the Republic of China, directly following the revolution, as due to his
position as a compromise candidate (Bergere, Marie Clare, Sun Yat sen, 1994, p. 12).
This interpretation holds Sun Yat sen as a respected but unimportant figure in the
revolution, serving as an ideal compromise between the ... Show more content on

In his nationalization theory, people would be deprived of the right to own land, but
they could still retain other rights over the land by permission of the state. Sun Yat
sen s revolutionary ideas extensively influenced formation of the New Army,
responsible for the revolution of 1911. Through his early revolutionary actions and a
failed military coup in 1895, Sun Yat sen was exiled for sixteen years, campaigning
and raising monetary aid in Europe, the United States and in Japan. In Japan, Sun Yat
sen joined dissident Chinese groups, a pre cursor to the Tongmenghui, becoming their
leader and gaining a large amount of financial support from Japanese democratic
revolutionary, Miyazaki Toten.[6] Sun Yat Sen smuggled this financial aid into China
through his supporters, directly financing weapons and ammunitions, much of which
was utilised in the revolution by the New Army.
Sun Yat sen s ideology remained flexible; this had a homogenising effect on the
revolutionary factions involved in the Wuchang rebellion and more widely, the
Xinhai Revolution. Sun Yat sen s political ideologies reflected their intended
audience as much as his personal convictions. He presented himself as a strident
nationalist to the nationalists, as a socialist to the socialists and an anarchist to the
anarchists, declaring in 1898, the goal of the three principles of the people is to
create socialism and

Ila appears in the text as perpetually locked in the present although a materially

Malathi notes in Nation as identity in Amitav Ghosh s The Shadow Lines that
Benedict Anderson has provided a penetrating remark on the nation. He says, The
nation is an imagined political community. It is imagined because the members of
even the smallest nation will never know most of their fellow members meet them
or even hear of them, yet in the minds of each lives the image of their communion.
(Malathi, 303) The formation of a nation state is a bipartite procedure involving
from one point of view a blending together in spite of apparent dissimilarities
among those situated inside the territory and a creation of alienness on those
located outside the border. Tha mma s feeble, aged Jethamoshai ,who was the sole
reason for Tha mma a visit to Dhaka provides an illuminating remark on the the
absurdity and illogicality of borders and boundaries that form a nation. He says,
Once you start moving you never stop. That s what I told my sons when they took
the trains. I said: I don t believe in this India Shindia. It s all very well, you re going
away now, but suppose when you get there they decide to drawanother line
somewhere? What will you do then? Where will you move to? (SL 211) The simple
question brings to fore the problem of identity faced by any displaced person and the
sheer nonsensicality in the efforts of drawing borders and dividing
A Fair System Of Taxation
Since taxes have been collected in the United States, there has been substantial debate
about what constitutes a truly fair system of taxation. After all, taxation without
representation was the basis on which the Revolutionary War was fought against
England; the new colonies were loathe to continue to accept a system in which they
had to pay taxes that were dictated by a monarchy that appeared to have less and
less interest in fairness. In fact, Great Britain had become completely engaged in
finding ways to earn income based on taxing its colonies. So resistant to the idea of
taxationwith the first colonists that the first federal statutes in the United States
imposing the legal obligation to pay a federal income taxwere adopted by... Show

This suggestion is viewed as an extremely fair response to the problems with the
tax code, because it supports an equitable solution for all taxpayers, regardless of
their income level. However, another proposal that has become popular completely
eliminates the current progressive tax code as well as the idea of a flat tax. The Fair
Tax is not a tax on income but instead would replace all existing income taxes
including payroll taxes, with a single consumption tax (Erb.) Discussion about the flat
tax versus the fair tax in comparison with the current progressive income tax
highlights a wide perspective of views about the appropriate way for the
government to collect revenue from its citizens. Supporters of all three
configurations make sound arguments to justify continuing with the current system
or adopting one of the two alternatives. The current system, the progressive income
tax, is popular because it is essentially exactly what it sounds like, i.e., the tax rate
that anyone pays rises, or progresses, as income increases. In fact, such a
progressive income tax system can be created even when the rates remain flat
through the use of personal exemptions, tax credits, and tax deductions which
essentially change the tax rate that is in effect (Erb.) People tend to like progressive
tax rates because they are a way of raising revenue by taxing people who have the

Analysis Of The Awakening
In Chopin s novel, The Awakening, she writes about a woman s desire to find and
live fully within her true self during the 1890s in Louisiana. The woman, Edna
Pontellier, is trying to find herself in the masculine society of Louisiana, leading her
to cause friction with friends, family and the Creole society. Edna begins to feel a
change; she begins to feel like a whole person with wants, interests and desires. She
learns that she is not comfortable with being a wifeand mother. The imagery of the
parrot in the cage in Chopin s novel is being compared to Edna because it
represents Edna s unspoken feelings and imprisonment. The sense of unspoken
feelings and imprisonment of Edna causes her to put her own needs before her
family. As Edna finds herself trying to satisfy the Creole society, she begins to feel
isolated and confused. Through Edna s trace of freedom, she begins to undergo a
transformation of self, slowly straying away from society, and taking control over
her own actions and beliefs. Through obstacles to Edna s freedom, she learns that
she does have control of her own body. The symbolism of the birds and the sea is
used to symbolize Edna s struggle for independence. Chopin s character Edna
Pontellier in The Awakening represents a caged birdthat is not able act on how she
feels. The caged birds serves as a reminder to Edna that she is caged in a role as a
wife and mother, and she is not to think of herself. In general, the caged birds
symbolize the role of

Tuberculosis ( Tb ) Is Caused By Mycobacterium
Tuberculosis
Tuberculosis (TB) is caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis which is an acid fast
bacterium. M. tuberculosis uses the respiratory tract as the principal portal of entry.
Tuberculosis is spread from person to person through microscopic droplets released
into the air. This can happen when someone that has the active form of tuberculosisin
the lungs which has not been treated coughs, speaks, sneezes, spits, laughs, or sings.
The majority of active cases result from reactivation of old dormant infections.
Although TB is contagious, it s not that easy to catch.
You re much more likely to get tuberculosis from someone you live with or work with

TB can lead to spinal pain and joint destruction, meningitis, impair the liver and
kidney s waste filtration functions, cause blood in the urine, and can impair the heart
s ability to pump blood.
M. tuberculosis enters the respiratory tract where it travels to the lungs deep into
the alveoli and is engulfed by macrophages. One of the major features of M.
tuberculosis is its capacity to block the acidification of the phagosome and
consequently to disable phagosome lysosome fusion in phagocytic cells. After
time, the tubercles can change to a cheese like consistency called caseous lesions.
When caseous lesions calcify they are called Ghon complexes which show up on X
ray s. Tubercles can sometimes liquefy and form air filled tuberculosis cavities
which allows the bacteria to spread. This spreading of the bacteria can affect many
parts of body like the bladder, bones, brain, joints, kidneys, lymph nodes, spine, and
reproductive organs. Cell mediated immunity then develops and alerts T cells.
There are two kinds of tests that are used to conclude if a person has been infected
with
TB bacteria. These tests are the tuberculin skin test (Mantoux test) and TB blood
tests. A positive
TB skin test or TB blood test only tells that a person has been infected with TB
bacteria.

Introduction to the Study
For several decades, literature has suggested that multinational corporations (MCNs),
transnational corporations (TNCs), and or international business companies (IBCs),
are among the most powerful and wealthiest organizations in the history of the world
(Tirimba Macharia, 2014; Bouquet Birkinshaw, 2008; Fuchs, 2007; Cohen, 2007;
Stopford, 1998; Meleka, 1985; Hawkins, 1979).
These business organizations conduct operations in many countries around the world,
employing millions, and directly or indirectly impacting the lives, cultures,
economies, and many times the environments of many millions more. Social justice
theory of ethics suggests that who is benefited is as important as how many are
benefited (IIT, 2016). In the article The Need for Ethical Leadership, Butcher (1997)
stated that things that affect free enterprise affect the whole society (p. 86).
Additionally, Aleksic (2013) wrote the article How Organizations Achieve Longevity
and suggested that change management can be considered as an important determinant
of organizational longevity (p. 65).
Moreover, Khan (2014) stated in the article The Longevity of Large Enterprises: A
Study of the Factors that Sustain Enterprises over an Extended Period of Time, that
the findings indicate that many factors are indeed linked to organizational longevity,
although five main factors are an
How Did South Plantations After The Civil War Change
Southern plantations changed greatly after the Civil War. Farmers did not want any
change, and before the war, tried to prove to the Northerners that slaves were not
mistreated. The southern plantations were full of slaves before the war. After the war,
southern plantations were not legally allowed to have slaves. In response to this
change, the land owners started a system called sharecropping. After the war many
small farmers got run out of the farming business.
In the original thirteen colonies, slavery was legal but not necessarily moral. As
decades passed the North and South grew further and further apart morally. The South
held onto slavery because it was so profitable for the South. The North worked toward
an industrial future while the South continued improving their machinery to improve
its farming community. Eli Whitney was an important inventor for the farmers in the
South. He was the inventor of many tools to help the South but the most important
one was the cotton gin. With Eli Whitney s invention of the cotton gin, there was less
work for the slaves and more money for the slave owners. As time went by the South
added tobacco crops to their farms. By adding tobacco to the southern plantations, the
work became more intense ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What the newly freed slaves did not realize is that landowners would always have
them in debt. With this new system, economic independence blew away with the
wind. Sharecropping was when a farmer rented from a landowner and promised to
give a percentage of their crop to the landowner every season. Sharecropping
dominated the South because the landowners didn t have to worry about feeding
workers or caring for them. Sharecropping was very profitable for the landowners.
Landowners had a very tight leash on the tenets. Sharecropping locked farmers into
the cycle of poverty. No matter how hard they tried they never seem to get out of
Rhetorical Strategies Of John Humhryss
Rough Draft
How does Humphry s use rhetorical strategies to persuade his readers?
Introduction
John Humphrys is very irritated that the writing he knows is been spoiled by
people who are using slag and abbreviations when communicating. He believes that
writing has been wrecked in a huge manner as all that he though was right is now
not considered in writing. He is also afraid that even in some areas where he thought
that writing should be official and all the rules followed, a lot of the texting slag is
used. As he states, people use the abbreviations to take care of time and use the
shortest time possible to communicate. But instead this is not true since there are a
big percentage of people who take time to understand the meaning of the
abbreviations but some even fail to understand the meaning or misinterpret them after
they have wasted a lot of time. Therefore Humphrys is determined to convincing
people that texting has affected the proper way of writing. John Humphrys used the
different strategies of rhetorical persuasion to persuade his audience and make it
believe that what he is arguing about is true.
Ethos This is an appeal dealing with ethics, (Charland et al, 2017). It is a way in

1. Using the historical data as a guide (Exhibit 6.1), construct a pro forma
(forecasted) profit and loss statement for the clinic s average month for all of 2010
assuming the status quo. With no change in volume (utilization), is the clinic
projected to make a profit?
With no change in volume of 45 patient visits per day, the clinic is not projected to
make a profit.
45 patient visits per day x 30 days in a month = 1,350 visits per month x 12 month =
16,200 visits per year
Using the average data given (2010) of 45 patients per day, average $130 revenue
per patient, and a cost of $3.50 per patient. The Forecasted P amp;L Statement is

Sino-North Korean Alliance
The Democratic People s Republic of Korea s (DPRK) increase in the display of
military force, including 30 ballistic missile tests within the last 16 months, reflect
a growing sense of danger to East Asia. While the DPRK is economically
dependent upon the People s Republic of China (PRC), Kim Jong un s military
ambitions have further strained the Sino North Korean alliance. Starting in the
1950s, the PRC has economically and politically supported the DPRK, but upon
Kim Jon il s 2009 nuclear weapons test, the PRC has shifted roles from supporter to
punisher. This current relationship trend of the Sino North Korean alliance may be
used to predict and design for the possibility of Korean reunification or to
economically strain the PRC. The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The ambition of the DPRK to become a recognized nuclear weapon state is a direct
challenge to the regional hegemony of the PRC and threat to the stability of East
Asia. Despite the involvement of the Six party talks, the PRC recognized Kim s
nuclear program to negotiate amongst nations with the intent to denuclearize in the
future. Following the DPRK s April May 2009 nuclear test, however, many scholars
believe that the PRC recognized the emerging threat of the DPRK. Although the
denuclearization of the DPRK would be advantageous for the PRC, the security
vulnerabilities of the DPRK and the proximity of hostile countries under the United
States nuclear umbrella present a conflicting scenario amongst PRC officials. For this
reason, denuclearization more than likely will not occur, resulting in the United
States and other nations to instigate denuclearization within the Korean Peninsula. In
fact, PRC officials have encouraged the United States to bilaterally negotiate with the
DPRK as well persuade DPRK officials to resume the Six party talks.
Economic viability of the DPRK is solely dependent upon the food and energy
supplies provided by China, which accounts for nearly 90 percent of the DPRK s
total trade volume. In fact, current economic trends display bilateral trade between
China and North Korea has steadily increased where in the first quarter of 2017,
China North Korea trade was up 37.4 percent from the same period in 2016. Despite

Importance Of Voting In Democracy
Mandatory voting has been a topic of debate in democratic countries since the
creation of democratic republics themselves. Voting is a crucial part of democracy
because it determines who will be the leaders of both the voters and nonvoters. It is
the right of a citizen to vote, but whether or not it is the responsibility remains
disputed. However, votingmust be performed with a basic understanding of policy and
what it takes for someone to fit the role which they are running for. Voting should not
be compulsory because it results in more uneducated voting that counteracts the
educated voting.
In Democracy, it is left to the citizens to make decisions, instead of a single
monarchical leader. Voting in a Democracy is a responsibility, which is why most
countries have age restrictions on it. Voting requires education. If someone is
running for President of a country, education is knowing and understanding what
their general policies are, as well as how they react to stress and criticism. A
relatively small portion of the U.S. citizen population is actually qualified to vote.
Qualifications for this are merely a moderate grasp on the candidate s foreign and
domestic approach.
There is no denying that a substantial amount of the general public who are citizens
are uneducated in regards to politics and policies, but only a fraction of them cast
their votes on voting day. This is beneficial to the voting poll because voting is most
efficient when it only contains well informed
Chatthooche Research Paper
The Chattahoochee is no longer an undisturbed river, but now all that is seen is
man harvesting the river or using the river in some way. Lake Lanier is one of the
deepest of the dams created on the Chattahoochee. Back in 1950 the US Corp of
Engineers had three purposes in mind for the lake. The first was to prevent
flooding, second to proving a drinking water supply for the growing Atlanta Metro
area, and the third use was for power. Lake Lanier was at the center of the Water
Wars. All three states could not come to an agreement and be civil about how much
power each would have over the river. Materials Methods The materials that were

The buffer can filter out the stuff we put in our lawns, stop the silt that washes off
places where we dig and contain pollutants from lawns and roads. These pollutants
have another way to get in to the Chattahoochee, they flow virtually unchecked into
the river from hundreds of miles of creeks that thread through the water shed. Silt
is sent down stream because of nearby construction. The greatest danger to the
creeks and to the water shed is land disturbing activities that lead to erosion,
whether it is tearing out plants and trees along the banks or lack of fence systems
to hold dirt. Local governments over seen by the state authority boards are
responsible for enforcing state laws on erosion control. But when faced with the
pressure and desire to increase tax, few local governments stand in the way of
development. Even the latest growing counties have at most a few people to
enforce the law. Donald Mitchell, chief soil and erosion inspector in Fulton Count,
compares his job to dropping a bucket of golf balls on a driveway and having to
pick em up before they hit the street. His job is part cop and part educator. He
needs to make sure everyone is educated on the issue so that people know what to
do. Erosion into the creeks that feed the Chattahoochee is even more severe a
problem than direct run off into the river, as
Settlers In The Chesapeake Region
By the year 1700, family demographics and religion of New England were
completely dissimilar to those of the Chesapeake region. The differences in
unification and society varied so much between the two settlements due to who
settled there. Climate and geographic features also shaped the colonies as they
formed and expanded. For each of the colonies of New Englandand Chesapeake,
different people with vastly differing motivations for moving transformed the
settlements greatly. Settlers of the Chesapeake region were motivated by the idea of
getting rich quickly, far from the idea of the Puritan colonialists of New England,
whose prime purpose was to flee religious persecution.

Introduction to Capital Gains and Losses
1. Introduction to Capital Gains and Losses
Nearly everything that you own, whether it is for investment purposes or personal
use, is a capital asset. Capital assets are stocks or bonds held for investment
purposes, land, machinery, etc. When an individual sells a capital asset, the
difference between the asset s purchase price and the amount that it is sold for, is
either a capital gain, which is in the case if the selling price exceeds the purchase
price, or a capital loss, where the purchase price exceeds the selling price.
When the value of the capital asset increases beyond the price that it was initially
purchased for, that is a capital gain. The gain is not realized immediately, because the
holder of the asset has not sold it. Once the individual sells the capital asset, at that
point, the individual must realize the gain and must claim it on income taxes. (http:/
/www.investopedia.com/terms/c/capitalgain.asp).
Capital gains and losses are categorized into two categories: long term and short
term. If the asset is held for one year or more before the disposition of the asset, the
capital gain or loss is considered a long term. If the asset is held for less than one
year prior to the disposition, the capital gain or loss is considered short term. (http:/
/www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc409.html).
2. How Capital Gains are taxed: Holding Period
The taxation of capital gains is treated differently depending on whether your
investment is considered long term or short term. The
Function Of Environmental Reflection
I would like to begin by saying that I have learned a great deal of materials in Dr.
Malpede s Environmental Study 300 course, that have incremented my understanding
on environmental topics. We did projects, read articles and books, and wrote
reflections about issues related to climate change, ecofeminism, the sixth extinction,
and the bad choices of food habits. However, the two topics that were the most
appealing to me was ecofeminism and climate change. These topics strengthen my
understanding about the causes and effect of environmental catastrophes because her
course requires you to reflect on readings more than just a brief discussion.
Throughout the semester I have taken two courses on Environmental, however
Environmental 300 class, have notably changed my way of thinking. When I am
watching the news pertaining to hurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes, sea level rise,
climate change, etc., not only do I understand the content but I am also able to
brainstorm about the causes and constructing my own thoughts based on what I have
learned. I appreciate have taken this class because it also has taught me to educate
myself on the candidates that run for election, because President Trump has
discredited all programs and rules that protect the environment. I value the teachings
of this course because it has strengthened me as a learner, voter, and a member of
society.
During the course of the semester I expanded my knowledge in numerous topics. I
learned about pollution, cancer, diseases that are caused by the pollution, the
hurricanes that formed in a fast period of time because of climate change. For
example, Hurricane Maria along with many others, was a reflection of the
devastation that is a caused by climate change, leading to the explanation that
Greenhouse warming causes a significant formation and intensity of stronger
hurricanes. Southern California wildfires were formed because of the low humidity
spread out to coastal areas, casing the vegetation to become more flammable. The
experience of discussing these topics in class after each news video not only
allowed me to view climate change deniers as a real threat but also improved my
ability to understand hurricane, wildfire and other disaster. I

Neuroplasticity In The Brain
This editorial concerns an interesting paper, recently published in Acta Physiologica,
showing evidence that the focus of attention internal or external during execution of a
motor task can cause transient neuroplastic like responses in motor areas of the brain
(Khun et al., 2016). Neuroplasticity refers to the capacity of the brainto reorganise
itself in response to our experiences throughout life. Typically, changes to the
organization of the brain come about to support brain function. For instance, after a
spinal cord injury or stroke, the brain must adapt to allow functional recovery (Rao et
al., 2016). The recognition that the brain must change to improve function has led to
several attempts to boost neuroplasticity. Cutting edge... Show more content on

American Dream Impact On Society Essay
The American Dream is most impacted by society. Society is corrupted because of
the decisions people in power make, as well the bad decisions people make. When
people in power, like politicians, or just normal people make bad decisions it could
have a good or bad toll on the people around them. That toll could affect further
decisions that people make. The people around you and the things they say also
have an impact on society. What someone says to another person or group of
people could affect those people greatly. For example, when a politician says
something about another country and how they choose to do things that could
affect those living in that country as well as the way people from other places.
People not treating everyone equally. Inequality is a big deal, and it has been for a
long time. From old time slavery to modern time gender inequality. Nowadays, some
politicians are trying to put people against each other and for what the world is going
through now, that s not what we need. The people around you have an effect on
everyone. Everything that the people around you say could have an impact on
someone s everyday life. So when politicians say something about another country
and the way they do things, think about the effect that has on their society. Ronald
Reagans American Dream is to live in a God blessed country, be free, be able to be
creative, and to live in harmony. So when he went to Moscow and saw the way that

Comparison Of Rudyard Kipling
Rudyard Kipling was born to Alice MacDonald and John Lockwood Kipling on
December 30, 1865 in Bombay, India. Most of his education took place in England
where his parents were from. Before getting into writing his own literature, Kipling
was a sub editor at the CMG, The Civl and Military Gazette. He worked for several
years before beginning to write. Farther into his career as a writer and poet,
Kipling wrote the poem The White Man s Burden. In this poem, he attempts to
teach readers that you should not do what is right only for praise and glory, but
instead because it is the right thing to do. Kipling also criticizes the U.S.
government for being too timid to go to war. In the song DNA. by Kendrick Lamar,
parts of the song criticize others for not taking chances and for being too scared. Both
Rudyard Kiplings The White Man s Burden and Kendrick Lamar s DNA. criticize
others for excessive timidness and their failure to take chances. In The White Man s
Burden, RudyardKipling attempts to teach readers the importance of doing what is
right even when there is lots of hate and no praise. In lines 19 and 20, Kipling
mentions that when countries go to war for the good of their people, they still
receive lots of hate. The blame of those ye better/ The hate of those ye guard
(Kipling 19,20). This is saying that governments are often loathed by countries
whom they have bested in battle and also receive hate from the very people they
were trying to help. Along with this message, Kipling also attempts to criticize
governments for being too timid and fearful of war. In line 26, Kipling writes a
line that is a little humorous but also very deep. Have done with the childish days
(Kipling 26). Here, Kipling says the way the government is so fearful and timid is
a childlike quality. He believes that they need to be much stronger and brave if
they want to stay in power. Kendrick Lamar attempts to produce a similar message
to listeners in his hit song, DNA. Both Rudyard Kipling in The White Man s
Burden, and Kendrick Lamar in DNA. criticize a similar issue in society. In D.N.A,
Kendrick Lamar hopes to motivate others to take more risks and get over any fears
they may have. Through this song, Lamar
Social Construction Of Crime Research Paper
Socially Constructed Crime In Today s Society In today s society, we often
associate things in a false way. One of example of how we do so is through crime.
A crime is defined as an illegal act for which someone can be punished by the
government by the Merriam Webster Dictionary. This can include anything from a
minor act, such as a traffic violation, to anything as severe as murder. We wrongfully
think that a crimeis something other than it actually is. Crime in our everyday lives is

In general, gender is socially constructed in many ways. One example would be
through gender norms. Gender norms are actions that we perceive to be
acceptable or accepted for a specific gender. For example, it is thought that women
are supposed to be stay at home mothers and care for the house. There are also
gender norms in crime. It is often thought that men are the ones to always commit
crime. According the the FBI s data from 2012, out of about nine million crimes

stereotypes that violent crimes of more likely to be committed by a male.
Although, for crimes such as larceny, the numbers for male and female are almost

assume that crimes are more likely to be committed by a person of color rather than
a caucasian. This is also false, the FBI s 2012 data also showed that out of the nine
million crimes committed in 2012, almost seventy percent of those was committed

Wound Assessment
Wound characteristics Location of the wound A wound assessment was performed
on perineal area of the patient. It was considered as a chronic wound due to

around the wound was slightly moist. A slight maceration on the edge of the wound

I Felt A Funeral In My Brain Diction
In the first stanza the speaker talks about a funeral in her brain which indicates she
could be imagining a funeral of her own. The speaker mentions that in her
imagination she sees mourners coming to the funeral to mourn her death. It almost
seems as if she were trying to describe the mourners as if they were in disbelief but
the reality was slowly hitting them. Emily Dickinsonused the rhyme scheme ABAB in
this stanza. There is only one type of metaphor in this stanza which is when the
speaker says I felt a funeral in my brain (1). Emily uses this word play in order to
make the reader wonder why she is not seeing the funeral but instead feeling it.
The second stanza the speaker infers that she sees all the mourners being seated
and then a drum starts to progress the funeral. The drum that the speaker talks about
could be compared to a fading heartbeat as she says her mind is going numb, which
can indicate her spirit is fading away. Emily Dickinson stuck with the rhyme scheme
ABAB throughout this stanza as well. She also uses no metaphors or literary
devices in this stanza but she does incorporate wordplay. The speaker says they hear

Gender In Northanger Abbey
Jane Austen writes her novel Northanger Abbey surrounding the protagonist,
Catherine Morland, a young girl, living within the Regency Period. Women at this
time were seen as subordinate to men, and were taught to seek a husband for wealth
and status. From the very first page of the novel, however, we see that Austen does
not depict Catherine Morland as a typical woman of this time. Jane Austenwrites the
character of Catherine Morland as a character pushing the boundaries for women of
this time. Jane Austen voiced heavily in her works the idea of women s rights, and
disagreed heavily on the typical gender roles in society that women such as Catherine
Morland were to conform to. Austen uses literary elements such as point of view and
characterization to write the character of Catherine in such a way to support her
ideals against stereotypical... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These devices noted in the novel, help support the notion that Austen rejects the
conformity of females during these periods to social norms in a patriarchal society,
writes her character in a way to emphasize her beliefs.
In the beginning of the novel, we see how Austen introduces Catherine Morland as
a heroine within the first few lines of the novel. This to the reader indicates to us
that Austen will portray her character in a different manner than the other females,
in order to support her idea of Catherine being a feminist of her time. No one who
had ever seen Catherine Morland in her infancy, would have supposed her born to be
an heroine (p. 5). Jane Austen supports the idea of the rejection of stereotypical
gender roles of the time not only through the way Catherine behaves and the way she

Introduction to Software Maintenance and Change Control Process
Software maintenance process is a topic that probably comes up in most
organizations and is an important one to address. Once software is created there are
usually changes or bugs that are found causes there to be a need for maintenance. It
is important to have a process in place that helps to define how these items are
handled and the path they take to completion. Using different tools to log these
changes, requests, or bugs will is important to keep things organized and allows for
proper tracking of these items.

Utilizing programmers on an as needed or project basis allows the company greater
flexibility of their programming resources, once again allowing them to conserve
precious talent for only the most critical issues.
The third tier of the software maintenance plan is management. Management works
in tandem with both of the previous layers. For instance there may be a technical
support supervisor who makes the final decision about escalation to the
programming team. This person serves as the liaison between the two teams to
insure that the issue is communicated, fixed, and ultimately resolved for the user.
On the programming team a project manager or lead programmer may be in charge.
This person s job is to prioritize pending escalated issues from the technical support
team as well as company requested modifications to the program. This person is
often times the head of the programming team and may report directly to the systems
manager or IT manager. Above the lead programmer you have the IT department
manager. This person s job is to monitor the IT department s day to day operations to
insure that it is effectively and efficiently supporting the company s customers.
Training Companies spend millions of dollars a year supporting customer or user
bases that are not educated in the proper way to operate their programs. By
developing a training program for the customer/user the company can greatly

Budweiser Rhetorical Analysis Essay
Budweiser creates numerous commercials every year to advertise to the public.
Many of their well known and most effective commercials have been aired during
the Super Bowl. This is the one time a year ordeal where they can advertise to
millions of people at a single instant. In 2013, Budweiser presented Clydesdale
Brotherhood, which was geared to the emotional and tender side of the audience
watching. With this heartfelt ad, Budweiser imparts the viewers attention to the
content they are trying to transmit to the consumers ( ). Budweiser uses various
rhetorical strategies and other techniques to bring people closer to the beer
company like never before. The advertisement starts by displaying a charming little
farm and the soothing background music of Landslide by Stevie Nicks. The
audience is then introduced to a man sporting a Budweiser cap tending to a young
Clydesdale horse. The commercial develops as the man helps raise and train the
young Clydesdale. Budweiser begins to show many sincere... Show more content on

Each scene of the commercial was intented to tug at the inner emotions of the
audience thus generating a relation between Budweiser and the viewers. This
advertisement used the song Landslide which was extremely effective due to the
way Budweiser linked key words in the song to various scenes to further more
fervently connect the audience to the ad. When Stevie Nicks sang the part I took
my love and took it down, the audience observes the link of companionship being
created amongst the Clydesdale and the man as they interact and love one another
over the years. Next, she sings I ve been afraid of changing, and the Clydesdale is
led onto the Budweiser truck by his master. The following phrase Cause I built my
life around you, draws the viewers to the sight in which the man grips the horses s
old rope and reflects on the significant piece the horse had in his

Title: Destroying the Atmosphere One Greenhouse Gas at a Time
General Purpose: To Persuade
Specific Purpose: To persuade my audience to help reduce climate change and stop
deforestation by buying wood products from certified companies that help forests.
Thesis Statement/Central Idea: Climate change is big problem in our world and we
are cause, because of our human induced climate change we are causing extreme
weather all around the world, one solution to this problem is stopping deforestation,
and we can do that through strong government enforcement of deforestation laws.

(Transition to Body) Since we all living on the Earth and contributing to climate
change, let us find out what it is and how it is causing extreme weather.
Body
I. (Main Point = Need) According to NASA climate is made up of two things. Those
two things are the climates of certain locations during the different seasons and the
Earth s climate which is a combination of all those different induvial climates.
A) (Subpoint) Climate change is the change of climate in a locations usual weather
during different seasons. Once all of these separate climates begin to change so does
the Earth s.
1) (Sub subpoint) According to the EPA we are seeing rising levels in the Earth s
temperature, snow and rainfall patterns are shifting, and we are experiencing more
extreme weather events. This climate change can be linked to extreme rises in
manmade greenhouse gas levels in the atmosphere.
2) (Sub sub subpoint) From 1990 to 2014 we have seen an increase in manmade
greenhouse gas levels by 7 percent. There are 4 main greenhouse gases that we are
producing: Carbon dioxide, Methane, Nitrous Oxide, and Fluorinated gases.
3) (Sub sub sub subpoint) When we produce these gases they get trapped in the
atmosphere. These gases absorb the heat that is radiating
Sphagnum Bogs
Sphagnum spp., varying between approximately 120 species, is a diverse Bryophyte
genus capable of holding significant quantities of water relative to their size (Jonsson
Ninniss, 2016). These flowerless plants can accommodate around 16 26 times as
much water as their dry weight, allowing them to extend into drier environments
forming sphagnumbogs or peat lands (Jonsson Ninniss, 2016).
Economic Importance:
Sphagnum moss are uniquely the only mosses with significant economic value. This
can be attributed to their absorptive and antiseptic properties (Jonsson Ninniss,
2016). Soldiers in World War II had their wounds treated with peat moss, as it served
as a sterile wound dressing. A sphagnum based soap coined toilet and nursery

Researchers are worried climate change and increase average global temperatures
will free large quantities of carbon at an unmanageable rate (Peat bogs amplify global
warming, 2006). Enzyme activity causes increases in the decomposition of
sphagnum moss. When such enzymes are warmed and exposed to air they are
permitted to act on peat moss and release carbon compounds into external
environments (the atmosphere) (Peat bogs amplify global warming, 2006). It is
projected that by the end of the century temperatures will increase by an alarming
5.8 degrees Celsius (Peat bogs amplify global warming, 2006). As the earth
becomes warmer, droughts will increase causing the level of water in the wetlands
to decrease, allowing the soil to be exposed to air. If the oxygen within the air gets
into contact with phenyl oxidase, the enzymes that break down sphagnum spp., a
reaction causing carbon release will occur, allowing carbon leakage into rivers and
streams. This carbon pollution can enter in the sea and come into contact with marine
bacteria, which will attack the carbon and eventually convert carbon to carbon dioxide
. Increased carbon dioxide levels will consequently produce more warming leading
to more carbon dioxide production through Greenhouse gas, in a rather cyclic series
of environmentally detrimental events (Peat bogs amplify global warming, 2006).
Researchers have predicted that an extra 60 years of industrial emissions can cause
doubling in atmospheric carbon, causing acceleration in global climate change (Peat
bogs amplify global warming,
A Comparison Of Gold In Charlie And The Chocolate
Factory
Colors can be interpreted differently in a variety of genres. The colors green and
gold in Oz the Great and Powerful and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, suggest
the mystery, wealth, and greed in each story. Oscar and Charlie journey through
magical worlds in order to acquire knowledge about the true meaning of values and
ethics in life and where they can be found, a lesson that continues to speak today.
The archetypal mystery in a quest must have a defined set of events in a narrative.
This standard quest involves the departure, which involves the character to have a
certain goal set in mind to accomplish, it also involves a return which is bringing
back what they found and accomplished once they have fulfilled their journey. In

Essay on Plato’s The Republic
Plato s The Republic
In the simile of the cave We are asked to picture a group of people sitting inside a
dark cave, their hands and feet are bound in such a way that they can only look at
the back wall of the cave. Behind the chained prisoners a fire is burning, and
between them and this fire a path runs along which men carry figures, the shadows
of these figures are projected onto the back wall of the cave. The prisoners
experience is based solely on the shadows, which form their world. They have been
sitting in this position since they were born so they believe that all they can see is all

In the same way when the minds eye perceives objects, which are illuminated by
truth and reality, it can understand and know them, but when all it sees is the world
of change and decay it will only be able to form opinions. In the simile the released
prisoner then returns to the cave, there he was no interest in the world as he once
believed it to be, the other prisoners think his journey to the outside world had ruined
his eyes, they would not wish this for themselves. He is ridiculed for leaving in the
first place.
The simile deals with all the aspects of Plato s philosophical beliefs, one belief held
by Plato is that the philosophers are the only members of society fit to rule, because
they are the highest educated. They are able to use the Form of the Good for
perception and are better qualified than the rest of the people in the state. In the
Simile of the cave these philosophers represent the freed prisoner accessing the form
of good, the visibility of the sun. Because of the philosopher s ability to access the
intelligible realm they should lead the state through politics, combining it with
philosophy. They have also seen the truth; therefore their judgement is not clouded
by things that are not knowledge in the physical realm. Plato s idea is that
knowledge is that of truth. Those who do not have knowledge are not fit to rule a
state, as they do not know about things that
Winthrop Lake Vs. Wetlands Lab Report

Biodiversity of Microorganisms in Winthrop Lake vs. Wetland Abstract:
Microorganism need to live in ideal conditions so they can grow. This experiment
was performed to determine if there was a greater number of microorganisms in
Winthrop lake than Winthrop wetlands. We determined this hypothesis because the
lake was bigger. We also made the hypothesis that the pH level of the lake was
going to be higher than the wetlands. We tested out the hypothesis by going out to
Winthrop lake and wetlands and collecting samples of water. Back in the lab, we
examined the samples under a microscope and recorded all the organisms we could

various areas. Back at the lab, measurements were made and analyzed the data. We
had 23 samples of water slides from the samples of water collected from each
location. We examined the drops of water from each location under a microscope
and counted all the microorganisms we could find and recorded them in Microsoft
Office Excel. After looking at the water samples under a microscope, we tested the
pH level of 6 samples from each location of water with a Vernier pH probe and
recorded this data in Excel. The number of microorganisms found in the recorded
was analyzed using a statistical chi squared test and the pH levels recorded was
analyzed using a t test. Results: After recording the data, we found a total of 10
different types of microorganisms in Winthrop wetlands (figure 1). In the lake, we
found a total of 13 different types of microorganisms (figure 1). Since we found
more organisms in the lake, we did a chi squared test to see if the difference was
statistically significant. The value we got after our calculation was 0.53 which is not

External Vs External Locus Of Control
Locus of control is the psychological term that either your fate or somethings fate is
determined. There are two locus of controls, internal and external. Internal locus of
control is all the gifts you receive is determined by his own decisions. An example
of internal locus of control is someone failing on a quiz because he didn t study.
External locus of controlis either you fate or somethings fate is determined by luck
or chance. An example of external locus of control is someone winning the lottery.
These two determine how good you do at school. People who have internal locus of
control do better than people who have external locus of control. This is because
people who have internal locus of control believe that if they study and work
Essay on The All American Girls Professional Baseball

The All American Girls Professional Baseball League
Before we told our daughters that they could be anyone, or anything they wanted to
be, we told them that they could only be what was acceptable for women to be, and
that they could only do things that were considered ladylike. It was at this time, when
the nation was frenzied with the business of war, that the women of the All American
Girls Professional Baseball League decided that they could do and be whatever it was
that they chose. These women broke free of the limitations that their family and
society had set for them, and publicly broke into what had been an exclusively male
sport up until that time. To understand the significance of the league (which will...

Suddenly women were being called from their kitchens to work in the factories,
being told that it was their patriotic duty. The famous Rosie the Riveter image arose
from this movement. Rosie became a new image for women, being portrayed as
strong, tough, and attractive. It was from this very image that the idea for the league
was born. The league was the brainchild of Philip K. Wrigley, president of the
Wrigley chewing gum company, and owner of the Chicago CubsNational League
baseball team. Wrigley was concerned with the future of baseball. The major
leagues had already lost more than half of their players to the military. The minor
leagues were even harder hit. By the start of the 1943 season, more than 3,000
minor leaguers had joined the service or the war effort. Only nine of the nations 26
minor leagues had enough men left to play. Aside from this reason, there was
concern over the continuation of baseball by several public figures, including
President Roosevelt. It was thought that because of the long hours and demanding
work of the war effort that it was important for the American people to have a way
to blow off steam. In the fall of 1942, Wrigley assigned a three man team from the
Cubs organization to look into developing a professional baseball league for women.

Compare Reduced Instruction Set Computer (CISC And
Cisc
Compare and contrast reduced instruction set computer (RISC) with the complex
Instruction set computer(CISC) [20]
Definitions:
(CISC) The term CISC (Complex Instruction Set Computer or Computing) refers to
computers designed with a full set of computer instructions that were intended to
provide needed capabilities in the most efficient way. Later, it was discovered that, by
reducing the full set to only the most frequently used instructions, the computer
would get more work done in a shorter amount of time for most applications. Since
this was called reduced instruction set computing (RISC), there was now a need to
have something to call full set instruction computers thus, the term CISC.
These complex instruction set computer ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since each instruction type that a computer must perform requires additional
transistors and circuitry, a larger list or set of computer instructions tends to make the
microprocessor more complicated and slower in operation.
Most RISC designs use uniform instruction length for almost all instructions, and
employ strictly separate load/store instructions.
Throughout the years various suggestions have been made regarding a precise
definition of RISC, but the general concept is that of a system that uses a really
small, highly optimized set of instructions, rather than a more versatile set of
instructions often found in other types of architectures like C.I.S.C, another common
trait is that RISC systems use the load/store architecture, which is where memory is
normally accessed only through certain specific instructions, rather than accessed as
part of other instructions like
Social Justice In To Kill A Mockingbird
Social Justice, defined by the Oxford Dictionary, is Justice in terms of the
distribution of wealth, opportunities and privileges within a society. The human
survival and the progression of society, heavily relies on the ability to stand up for
the rights and freedoms of others being an advocate for change and an advocate for
social justice. This essay with primarily discus Social Justicethrough advocacy and
younger generations perceptions of the world, focusing on the text To Kill A
Mockingbird by Harper Lee and the pocket film And So It Should Be by Tara
Campbell. Overall, exploring the the theme of how social justice is essential to human
survival and the progression of society.
The perception in the text To Kill A Mockingbird of hate being a natural emotion
is constantly challenged to provide the side of that hate is taught, rather than
natural. The use of Lee s high modality, use of a metaphor in the quote As you
grow older, you ll see white men cheat black men every day of your life, but let me
tell you something and don t you forget it whenever a white man does that to a
black man, no matter who he is, how rich he is, or how fine a family he comes from,
that white man is trash , explores this notion. This quote breaks the stigma of that the
majority, in this particular text the white society, are always considered to be the
higher class and able to get away with whatever they please just because of their race
being considered better than another.
Gay And Gay Adoption
Gay and Lesbian Adoption: Is it Good for the Kids About 19 percent of same sex
couples raising children reported having an adopted child in the house in 2009, up
from just 8 percent in 2000. As society changes there opinions on same sex marriage
they more gays and lesbians are adopting. There was recent rise in same sex adoption
but there is still people in U.S. that are against same sex adoption. Recently a judge
in Kentucky objected gay and lesbian adoption. This caused a huge uproar and had
people thinking whether or not gay and lesbian adoption is okay for the children.
One article feels that state legislators are putting more hurdles in the way of
adoption and preventing children from getting into loving and caring homes (
Adoptions are declining, 2017). Gays and lesbians being able to adopt will
provide loving homes, get kids out of foster care, and they choose to be parents.
Providing a Loving Home One of the most important thing for children is to have a
loving and supporting home. Having a loving and supportive home can come from
same sex couple or heterosexual couples. According to the article Overview of gay
and lesbian parenting, adoption and foster care by American Civil Liberties Good
parenting is not influenced by sexual orientation. Rather, it is influenced most
profoundly by a parent s ability to create a loving and nurturing home an ability that
does not depend on whether a parent is gay or straight. This just shows how
important it is for kids to
Analysis Of The Second Sex By Simone Beauvoir
Another thing that womanhood or motherhood encapsulates in this novel is the
choice to choose between staying in a polygamous marriage or walk out, without
being seen as weak or revolting. Ramatoulaye is portrayed as an example of
individual identity and choice. She chooses to marry Modou against her family s
wishes (Letter 16); And when confronted with the same dilemma as her friend
Aissatou a polygamous husband, she chooses a different path she looks inward, cut
her loses and makes the decision that seem unreasonable to others even her children.
She knows that after thirty years of marriageand twelve children, putting herself on
the dating scene would be a waste of time. She knows according to the womanin
Simone Beauvoir s book, The Second Sex, her flesh is no longer bounties for men

marriage, Ramatoulaye knowing herself more than anyone else, she writes I
looked at myself in the mirror. My eyes took in the mirror s eloquence. I had lost
my slim figure, as well as ease and quickness of movement...I could not delude
myself: youth was deserting my body (Letter 41). I see the internalized patriarchal
value that a woman needs a man to survive in this portion of the letter. If remarriage
is not the priority of an abandoned woman, the society has no right to force her to, or
berates her for choosing to stay single.

Discuss the techniques Harper Lee uses in Chapter 15 to create
Tension.
This essay will a brief explanation on how Harper Lee creates tension.
I will also show the different techniques Lee used to show tension such, as action,
speech and description.
Tension can be when there is a friction between two or more parties.
This could be when nobody knows what to say to each other, like meeting for the
first time, creating a nervous atmosphere. Tension can also be when someone is
stressed or anxious about something that has just happened or is going to happen,
like an exam in school. Being put in an awkward situation, such as being in the

Jem and Scout know that something is wrong, otherwise he wouldn t have sent them
back inside. They start to worry about Atticus. They know something is about to
happen, they can t do anything about. This is an apprehensive form of tension, when
someone is worried by something that is going to happen.
Secondly, when Atticus returns to the house after his confrontation with Heck Tate
and the others, the atmosphere is tense because Scout and Jem want to know what
happened outside. They were going to get you, weren t they? . This adds to the
tension of the moment, because
Atticus wouldn t know how to respond to that.
Another example of a tense situation, is when Atticus takes his car out late at night.
Because Atticus never drives apart from business trips, Jem and Scout feel an
uneasiness as to why he d take the car late at night and not tell them. They sense
something is wrong. Their tension grows until they have to follow him.
Furthermore, tension occurs when Atticus goes to local prison to help protect Toms
cell. The mob order him out of the way so they can they can take Tom away to
another jail. This is a tense situation because neither Atticus nor the mob want a
fight, so each is waiting to see what the other will do, so this creates a tense stand
off, as they are both poised to make a move.
Finally, after following Atticus to the jail, Scout

Altruism is a philanthropic idea in which a person does good deeds or has concern to/for other people. When a person a person commits an act of benevolence, it is usually an act of selfless generosity. However, these benevolent acts can also be an act of greed. Frank McCourtemploys both selfless and self indulged acts of altruism in Angela s Ashes. While describing the misery of his childhood, Frank McCourt makes use of the motif of altruism to develop conflicts, character traits and motivations, and universal themes. Frank McCourt through the incorporation of this motif develops the theme: It is not... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Altruistic acts with hopes of getting gains is not true altruism. In Angela s Ashes, there are many of these deeds in which the characters, organization, and society itself act selfishly. When Fintan wants to give away his reward from answering the question, and is asked why he responds by saying They are my friends. (157) Fintan is not giving away the apple peels to his friends out of the goodness in his heart, he gives the reward away so that he can make more friends. There are self interested motivations behind the benevolent deeds of organizations as well. The St. Vincent de Paul is portrayed as charitable organization who help the less fortunate; however under the goodwill, their motivations to be better than the Protestants is clearly visible. The St. Vincent de Paul, want to attract more people to the religion of Catholicism, and will do anything to accomplish that goal, including even and they ll give you the drawers of their arse. (65) when the women threaten the men in there with the Quakers. (65) The men who run the St. Vincent de Paul are afraid of losing the number of followers they have and are in constant competition with other religions. Likewise, Frank, too, has an inner motive when he is helping Mr. Hannon deliver the coal. Delivering the coal makes Frank feel like he is contributing his two pence to the family; he is very

These factors may have political, economic, social and culture, technological, legal or environmental dimensions. By considering them, a company can change direction, build contingencies, identify new opportunities or do nothing at all. It is an important part in the strategic decision making. National retailers are increasingly reticent to take on new suppliers (Clarke, Bennison and Guy, 1994; Datamonitor Report, 2003). One example of Mydin adapting its product mix is to accommodate an increased demand for organic products. Technological factors Technological factors are usually easier to spot, because new technologies involve change, and change is always noticed. • 5. The Relationship Of Jesus And Christian Mentoring In The... Mentor is characterized as a wise and trusted advocate or instructor. Although tutoring/mentoring is not in the Bible, it gives us various cases of coaching. Moses was a great example of a mentoring relationship. The mentoring relationship among Eli and Samuel allowed Samuel to take on tasks and obligations that were his after Eli s demise. Jesusmentor His disciples, while Barnabas and Paul exceeded expectations in mentoring. Jesus made His style of mentoring clear. He led so we may follow. He stated if anybody will come after him, let them take up his cross and follow him. Since He is our leader and we are to follow Him, Christian mentoring is a procedure subordinate upon accommodation to Christ. Neither the mentor or mentee controls the relationship. The way toward mentoring is portrayed by sharing, trust, and enrichment as the life and work of the two members is changed. The mentor fills in as a model and a confided in audience. The guide depends on the Holy Spirit to give understanding, change lives, and educate through demonstration. Jesus and the apostles, as well as elders in the church do their work by mentoring. Peter states to be the example of the flock, and Paul discloses to the elders at Ephesus. Paul demonstrates to the elders, so that they may show others. If a Christian leader is not mentoring to that degree, he or she is not satisfying their calling. God has filled the group of Christ with potential mentors other than the individuals who are elders.

Essay about George Washington Plunkitt of Tammany Hall George Washington Plunkitt of Tammany Hall Everybody is talkin these days about Tammany men growin rich on graft, but nobody thinks of drawin the distinction between honest graft and dishonest graft. With this sentence in the first chapter Plunkitt sets the tone for his short treatise on New York City politics while Tammany Hall ran the show. George Washington Plunkittwas a senator in New York during the turn of the 19th Century to the 20th Century. He was very successful in politics, and at one time he held four offices at once and collected salaries from three of them. G. W. Plunkitt held any one (or more offices) in Tammany Hall for over forty years. He was a shady politician who took care of his constituents and his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Before civil service reform, elected officials could easily remove anti Tammany city employees and replace them with Tammany supporters in return for their work during the campaign. This sort of spoils system encouraged young people to get involved with politics and to love their country. According to Plunkitt (and he gives many examples) after civil service examinations young men become anarchists or in the worst case one joins the Spanish army and actually fights against the same men he used to support and love. Not only did this spoils system encourage young people, it also helped hold the United States party system together. And that, according to Plunkitt, would all change if supporters were not rewarded with government jobs for their work. However, the Civil Service act of 1883 did more to instigate the merit system in politics than anything else. Plunkitt s arguments against the civil service reforms are amusing but his generalities make his argument difficult to believe. One would assume that Plunkitt s motivation for attacking civil service was because of his personal motivation not the reasons presented in his Very Plain Talks on Very Practical Politics. Plunkitt clearly was a politician for himself and his supporters, in all he cared very little about the welfare of New York City as a whole. Other than the curse of civil service, Plunkitt also instructed young men on the tactics and

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Job s three friends, after seven days of silence and Job making his case, try to find the truth about why Job is suffering in their speeches. Eliphaz in his first speech says that if he was in Job s place, [he] would appeal to God and state [his] plea (New American Bible Job 5.8). In this quote, Eliphaz is giving Job advice on what to do. At this point, he still thinks that Job is good and the truth is on Job s side. Additionally, he tells Job that God punishes, but he heals the punished so Job should not reject God s punishment but instead he should accept it. Bildad gets mad at Job because they have contrasting views of God because Bildad thinks that God would not punish anyone good (Job 8.2 3). Job and his friends debate about these things in the search for the truth. Job tells his friends that they are bad at comforting him. He says that if they were in each other s positions then he would do the same thing. But he would strengthen them with talk (Job 16.5). Job looks for truth when he talks to his friends. They debate about the truth concerning who God is and why he is punishing Job. Elihu puts his input about what he thing the truth about God is. Elihu is angry that Job believes that he is in the right, instead of God, also he is angry that Job s friends were not able to disprove Job s statements (Job 11 12). Elihu says that God can let the righteous suffer to

Sun Yat sen s role in the 1911 revolution against the Qing dynasty was an indirect one. Sun Yat sen was exiled in the United States during the events of the Wuchang Uprising of October 10th, 1911, hearing about it through a newspaper publication in Denver, Colorado.[1] Many Historians view Sun s accession as the provisional President of the Republic of China, directly following the revolution, as due to his position as a compromise candidate (Bergere, Marie Clare, Sun Yat sen, 1994, p. 12). In his nationalization theory, people would be deprived of the right to own land, but they could still retain other rights over the land by permission of the state. Sun Yat sen s revolutionary ideas extensively influenced formation of the New Army, responsible for the revolution of 1911. Through his early revolutionary actions and a failed military coup in 1895, Sun Yat sen was exiled for sixteen years, campaigning and raising monetary aid in Europe, the United States and in Japan. In Japan, Sun Yat sen joined dissident Chinese groups, a pre cursor to the Tongmenghui, becoming their leader and gaining a large amount of financial support from Japanese democratic revolutionary, Miyazaki Toten.[6] Sun Yat Sen smuggled this financial aid into China through his supporters, directly financing weapons and ammunitions, much of which was utilised in the revolution by the New Army. Sun Yat sen s ideology remained flexible; this had a homogenising effect on the revolutionary factions involved in the Wuchang rebellion and more widely, the Xinhai Revolution. Sun Yat sen s political ideologies reflected their intended audience as much as his personal convictions. He presented himself as a strident nationalist to the nationalists, as a socialist to the socialists and an anarchist to the anarchists, declaring in 1898, the goal of the three principles of the people is to create socialism and

After all, taxation without representation was the basis on which the Revolutionary War was fought against England; the new colonies were loathe to continue to accept a system in which they had to pay taxes that were dictated by a monarchy that appeared to have less and less interest in fairness. This suggestion is viewed as an extremely fair response to the problems with the tax code, because it supports an equitable solution for all taxpayers, regardless of their income level. However, another proposal that has become popular completely eliminates the current progressive tax code as well as the idea of a flat tax. The Fair Tax is not a tax on income but instead would replace all existing income taxes including payroll taxes, with a single consumption tax (Erb.) Discussion about the flat tax versus the fair tax in comparison with the current progressive income tax highlights a wide perspective of views about the appropriate way for the government to collect revenue from its citizens. Supporters of all three configurations make sound arguments to justify continuing with the current system or adopting one of the two alternatives. The current system, the progressive income tax, is popular because it is essentially exactly what it sounds like, i.e., the tax rate that anyone pays rises, or progresses, as income increases. In fact, such a progressive income tax system can be created even when the rates remain flat through the use of personal exemptions, tax credits, and tax deductions which essentially change the tax rate that is in effect (Erb.) People tend to like progressive tax rates because they are a way of raising revenue by taxing people who have the

The woman, Edna Pontellier, is trying to find herself in the masculine society of Louisiana, leading her to cause friction with friends, family and the Creole society. Edna begins to feel a change; she begins to feel like a whole person with wants, interests and desires. She learns that she is not comfortable with being a wifeand mother. The imagery of the parrot in the cage in Chopin s novel is being compared to Edna because it represents Edna s unspoken feelings and imprisonment. The sense of unspoken feelings and imprisonment of Edna causes her to put her own needs before her family. As Edna finds herself trying to satisfy the Creole society, she begins to feel isolated and confused. Through Edna s trace of freedom, she begins to undergo a transformation of self, slowly straying away from society, and taking control over her own actions and beliefs. Through obstacles to Edna s freedom, she learns that she does have control of her own body. The symbolism of the birds and the sea is used to symbolize Edna s struggle for independence. Chopin s character Edna Pontellier in The Awakening represents a caged birdthat is not able act on how she feels. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... TB can lead to spinal pain and joint destruction, meningitis, impair the liver and kidney s waste filtration functions, cause blood in the urine, and can impair the heart s ability to pump blood. M. tuberculosis enters the respiratory tract where it travels to the lungs deep into the alveoli and is engulfed by macrophages. One of the major features of M. tuberculosis is its capacity to block the acidification of the phagosome and consequently to disable phagosome lysosome fusion in phagocytic cells. After time, the tubercles can change to a cheese like consistency called caseous lesions. When caseous lesions calcify they are called Ghon complexes which show up on X ray s. Tubercles can sometimes liquefy and form air filled tuberculosis cavities which allows the bacteria to spread. This spreading of the bacteria can affect many parts of body like the bladder, bones, brain, joints, kidneys, lymph nodes, spine, and reproductive organs. Cell mediated immunity then develops and alerts T cells. There are two kinds of tests that are used to conclude if a person has been infected with TB bacteria. These tests are the tuberculin skin test (Mantoux test) and TB blood tests. A positive TB skin test or TB blood test only tells that a person has been infected with TB bacteria.

Introduction John Humphrys is very irritated that the writing he knows is been spoiled by people who are using slag and abbreviations when communicating. He believes that writing has been wrecked in a huge manner as all that he though was right is now not considered in writing. He is also afraid that even in some areas where he thought that writing should be official and all the rules followed, a lot of the texting slag is used. As he states, people use the abbreviations to take care of time and use the shortest time possible to communicate. But instead this is not true since there are a big percentage of people who take time to understand the meaning of the abbreviations but some even fail to understand the meaning or misinterpret them after they have wasted a lot of time. Therefore Humphrys is determined to convincing people that texting has affected the proper way of writing. John Humphrys used the different strategies of rhetorical persuasion to persuade his audience and make it believe that what he is arguing about is true. Voting is a crucial part of democracy because it determines who will be the leaders of both the voters and nonvoters. It is the right of a citizen to vote, but whether or not it is the responsibility remains disputed. However, votingmust be performed with a basic understanding of policy and what it takes for someone to fit the role which they are running for. Voting should not be compulsory because it results in more uneducated voting that counteracts the educated voting. In Democracy, it is left to the citizens to make decisions, instead of a single monarchical leader. Voting in a Democracy is a responsibility, which is why most countries have age restrictions on it. Voting requires education. If someone is running for President of a country, education is knowing and understanding what their general policies are, as well as how they react to stress and criticism. A relatively small portion of the U.S. citizen population is actually qualified to vote. Qualifications for this are merely a moderate grasp on the candidate s foreign and domestic approach. There is no denying that a substantial amount of the general public who are citizens are uneducated in regards to politics and policies, but only a fraction of them cast their votes on voting day. • 26. Introduction to Capital Gains and Losses 1. Introduction to Capital Gains and Losses Nearly everything that you own, whether it is for investment purposes or personal use, is a capital asset. Capital assets are stocks or bonds held for investment purposes, land, machinery, etc. When an individual sells a capital asset, the difference between the asset s purchase price and the amount that it is sold for, is either a capital gain, which is in the case if the selling price exceeds the purchase price, or a capital loss, where the purchase price exceeds the selling price. When the value of the capital asset increases beyond the price that it was initially purchased for, that is a capital gain. The gain is not realized immediately, because the holder of the asset has not sold it. Once the individual sells the capital asset, at that point, the individual must realize the gain and must claim it on income taxes. (http:/ /www.investopedia.com/terms/c/capitalgain.asp). Capital gains and losses are categorized into two categories: long term and short term. If the asset is held for one year or more before the disposition of the asset, the capital gain or loss is considered a long term. If the asset is held for less than one year prior to the disposition, the capital gain or loss is considered short term. (http:/ /www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc409.html). 2. • 31. American Dream Impact On Society Essay The American Dream is most impacted by society. Society is corrupted because of the decisions people in power make, as well the bad decisions people make. When people in power, like politicians, or just normal people make bad decisions it could have a good or bad toll on the people around them. That toll could affect further decisions that people make. The people around you and the things they say also have an impact on society. What someone says to another person or group of people could affect those people greatly. For example, when a politician says something about another country and how they choose to do things that could affect those living in that country as well as the way people from other places. People not treating everyone equally. Inequality is a big deal, and it has been for a long time. From old time slavery to modern time gender inequality. Nowadays, some politicians are trying to put people against each other and for what the world is going through now, that s not what we need. The people around you have an effect on everyone. Everything that the people around you say could have an impact on someone s everyday life. So when politicians say something about another country and the way they do things, think about the effect that has on their society. Ronald Reagans American Dream is to live in a God blessed country, be free, be able to be creative, and to live in harmony. So when he went to Moscow and saw the way that the people were being treated when they
  • 32. Comparison Of Rudyard Kipling Rudyard Kipling was born to Alice MacDonald and John Lockwood Kipling on December 30, 1865 in Bombay, India. Most of his education took place in England where his parents were from. Before getting into writing his own literature, Kipling was a sub editor at the CMG, The Civl and Military Gazette. He worked for several years before beginning to write. Farther into his career as a writer and poet, Kipling wrote the poem The White Man s Burden. In this poem, he attempts to teach readers that you should not do what is right only for praise and glory, but instead because it is the right thing to do. Kipling also criticizes the U.S. government for being too timid to go to war. In the song DNA. by Kendrick Lamar, parts of the song criticize others for not taking chances and for being too scared. Both Rudyard Kiplings The White Man s Burden and Kendrick Lamar s DNA. criticize others for excessive timidness and their failure to take chances. In The White Man s Burden, RudyardKipling attempts to teach readers the importance of doing what is right even when there is lots of hate and no praise. In lines 19 and 20, Kipling mentions that when countries go to war for the good of their people, they still receive lots of hate. The blame of those ye better/ The hate of those ye guard (Kipling 19,20). This is saying that governments are often loathed by countries whom they have bested in battle and also receive hate from the very people they were trying to help. Along with this message, Kipling also attempts to criticize governments for being too timid and fearful of war. In line 26, Kipling writes a line that is a little humorous but also very deep. Have done with the childish days (Kipling 26). Here, Kipling says the way the government is so fearful and timid is a childlike quality. He believes that they need to be much stronger and brave if they want to stay in power. Kendrick Lamar attempts to produce a similar message to listeners in his hit song, DNA. Both Rudyard Kipling in The White Man s Burden, and Kendrick Lamar in DNA. criticize a similar issue in society. In D.N.A, Kendrick Lamar hopes to motivate others to take more risks and get over any fears they may have. Through this song, Lamar

Enzyme activity causes increases in the decomposition of sphagnum moss. When such enzymes are warmed and exposed to air they are permitted to act on peat moss and release carbon compounds into external environments (the atmosphere) (Peat bogs amplify global warming, 2006). It is projected that by the end of the century temperatures will increase by an alarming 5.8 degrees Celsius (Peat bogs amplify global warming, 2006). As the earth becomes warmer, droughts will increase causing the level of water in the wetlands to decrease, allowing the soil to be exposed to air. Later, it was discovered that, by reducing the full set to only the most frequently used instructions, the computer would get more work done in a shorter amount of time for most applications. Since this was called reduced instruction set computing (RISC), there was now a need to have something to call full set instruction computers thus, the term CISC. These complex instruction set computer ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since each instruction type that a computer must perform requires additional transistors and circuitry, a larger list or set of computer instructions tends to make the microprocessor more complicated and slower in operation. Most RISC designs use uniform instruction length for almost all instructions, and employ strictly separate load/store instructions. Throughout the years various suggestions have been made regarding a precise definition of RISC, but the general concept is that of a system that uses a really small, highly optimized set of instructions, rather than a more versatile set of instructions often found in other types of architectures like C.I.S.C, another common trait is that RISC systems use the load/store architecture, which is where memory is normally accessed only through certain specific instructions, rather than accessed as part of other instructions like
