Myers-Brigg Personality Analysis
According to Myers Brigg personality test I am an INFJ (Introverted Intuitive Feeling Judging
Personality): As I read the description on learning style, it surprised me how accurate the results
were by just answering a few basics questions. For instance, a distinguish quality of an INF is
creativity that it usually results in an inclination towards the arts. Moreover, an INFJ type
personality tends to seek majors in the fields of education, counseling and science. In that sense,
I am not only an artistic person, but also a student who loves science and seek to help others. As
a matter of fact, I chose a career in the humanities during my undergraduate tenure as well as
studies in biology (Human anatomy) for the reason that I believe that biology and the humanities
go hand in hand. In my opinion, if someone decide to become a doctor or chose a career in the
medical field, for example, it is not just enough to have knowledge about how the human body
works, but also it is of great importance to posses an understanding of the social, and cultural
aspects of an individual that is language, race, religion, etc. The same is true for the humanities, and
proved of that is that some well known writers have even produced literature in the context of
science (doctor/patient relationship), such... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It also tends to challenge authority. The first statement is very accurate since when I study the only
thing I d like to hear are my thoughts. The second statement does not apply entirely to my learning
style. I said entirely for the reason that I don t disrespect authority, I don t challenge authority, but I
don t take statements as absolute truths without tangible explanation. In other words, a statement
such because that s the way it is , it does not satisfy my curiosity as a

A Leading Airline Group With Effective Security Systems...
A leading airline group with effective security systems and culture .
Qantas requires an organisational culture of behaviours that support its security vision, policies
and procedures. With direction from the Board, the airline has embarked on a journey to identify
its current security culture and develop a method to assess and improve the culture going forward.
There is little evidence to suggest that this has been accomplished elsewhere, particularly within
aviation, and the findings will play a key role in Qantas ability to influence regulators. The focus
for this project is on the Australian market and the 65% domestic market share, however there is
evidence to suggest that considerations will also need to be made in the new and growing Asian
markets.
Qantas engaged PwC to assist them with this project. PwC consulted some 332 Qantas employees
including Executives to understand the desired future state for security culture, and a cross section
of Middle Management and the Frontline to establish the current state. Findings from Executive
conversations were largely consistent with what emerged as ideas for change from the Middle
Management and Frontline levels. Overarching themes encompassed the need for greater
engagement including collaboration and a clearer understanding as to how security culture fits into
the broader culture, specifically how security supports safety and is aligned to the brand values and
desired organisational behaviours. PwC also engaged an

Memory Retention Of The Presentation Information And Those...
We found that there was no significant difference between the memory scores of those who thought
they had to teach the information and those who were told nothing. Yet, a consistent trend was
found with both dependent variables. Although the trend does not fall within the confidence band,
it can be considered a consistent trend because it is constant for all four different conditions. Refer
to Figure 2, the memoryscores were consistently lower when white noisewas present, regardless of
which condition the participants were in. In addition, the anxietylevels were slightly higher when
white noise was present regardless of active or passive condition, refer to Figure 3. Our null
hypothesis states that there will be no significant difference in memory retention of the presentation
information between those who are told they must teach the presentation right after and those who
are not told anything, and there will be no difference in anxiety levels when noise is introduced into
the classroom. However, our study tested the hypothesis that the potential of having to speak
publicly would enhance memory retention. Yet, our results proved otherwise.
Opposite to what we hypothesized, the memory for all four groups remained relatively consistent
with one another with respect to the active and passive conditions. Anxiety did not have a major
impact in boosting memory performance, even when white noise was in the background. We found
that from the perspective of the student,

The New House Construction Of Rylai Enterprises Near...
1.0 INTRODUCTION
This report assesses two available locations for the new house construction of Rylai Enterprises
near University Malaysia Pahang (UMP). After reviewing the background, these two sites are the
best for the new house construction. The strategic and the features at both locations are the reason
I chosen both of them. However, I recommend we choose Taman Tas as our site for Rylai House
Construction.
1.1 Background
Rylai Enterprises is a well known company and has the consistent performance in international
level. So, this is the huge opportunity for the company to run their business well by constructing
single storey terraced house. By the feedback we received, there are some UMP students people
nearby requesting a new house lot for their staying. Moreover, people who are working at UMP
having a hard day to find the house. Even worse the only available house is too far away for
them. As you know, house nowadays is so difficult to get because of the land available decrease
year by year, yet the landlord of both locations is willing to sell the land at low price and I m sure
Rylai Company can afford any one of them. We are planning to construct affordable house for the
fresh graduate students and for the adults these days. The house type is single storey terraced house
with a newest design by the architect Mr Tan Kai Jun. According to Mr Tan, every single house is
complete with systematic drainage system to prevent flood. In addition, the project cost should not

My Heart Has Changed Spencer Cox Analysis
Spencer Cox composed My Heart Has Changed. Cox persuades his audience that people should
care about victims in tragedy even if there are differences. He uses high vocabulary, proven
statistics, and surprising facts to build his argument. Throughout the article, Spencer Cox applies
educated vocabulary. By using credible vocabulary, it persuades the audience that the author is
intelligent. He incorporates words like, bigot and innately during his passage. These words that he
is using makes the readers feel like he knows what he is talking about. This makes the things he is
saying more believable. At the start of the authors passage, Cox incorporates statistics that build his
argument that people need to put political beliefs aside and think

Examples Of Robert Frost Views On Nature
My perspective is Robert Frost views on man and nature .
The particular aspects of nature expressed in Frost s poems were often determined by the
subjective responses of his characters to their surroundings. He showed people who were
emotionally strong, either within themselves or through human ties, as feeling secured in their
relationship with a benevolent nature because they were able to accept it and its movements
without fear. They were able to cope with the violence that also seemed a part of the natural world.
Those, however, who were alone, weak, and fearful found in their environment a reason for anxiety,
and it was in their eyes that nature assumed hostile and malevolent qualities. Robert Frost
apparently used symbol in his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He meant by this that nature acts according to its own principles without regard to human purposes.
He had no belief in Nature s holy plan , no conviction that nature linked his human soul to her fair
works. Nature was not hostile to man, for hostility would imply in nature a consciousness of
specifically human concerns. But nature did not oppose man s purposes; it simply enacted its own
tendencies. It was not friendly to man. Its unfriendliness was infinite, for it extended through all the
circumstances that surrounded man. Despite the check which they got when they looked for
friendly response from nature, human beings persistently wished for sympathetic intelligence in
their surroundings and hopefully construe ambiguities that may be taken for signs of it. Water, the
immemorial symbol of life, figured in Frost s poetry as immortal force operating in nature within
man s range of action, which can be channeled to accomplish human purposes or can overwhelm by
its exuberance. It was the conviction of his loneliness in an unfriendly universe that furnished the
substance of Frost s nature poetry. There was always something else in his poetry. All of them had

The Imaginary Institution of India
The Imaginary institution of Indian: Politics and Ideas Ch5 8 As you dive into the text of
Sudipta Kaviraj s The Imaginary institution of Indian: Politics and Ideas (2010) he begins to
already question the sense of Nationalism. Indian s didn t really have any sense of nationalism up
until the British came to power. Kaviraj states it is often essential to ask whose history this is, in
the sense of history for whom rather than history of whom. (Page 170) Because it depends on
which said the story is told. In earlier periods of Indiathey felt a weaker version of patriotism which
was an ancestor for Indian nationalism (Page 174) which would be different from today s
patriotism and that there is no connection between being patriotic and being Indian. He says that
the consciousness becomes nationalist before it becomes India s only because they happen to
realize it later in time.
Kaviraj regards India to be closely parallel to what Gramsci said about Italian nationalism. There
are two conflicts, One of memorialism of Italy s Roman past to what it is today and, two today s
modernity and the construction of the Italian identity. He compares the two because Italian history
had some similar influences to that of colonialism. Gramsci says that there is no concrete line in
which Italian culture is connected by, the only continuity they have is just propaganda. Each
century in India had its own literature. Any time they would summarize a principle of the past they

Costco Membership Fees
Why do some stores charge membership fees and have lower prices on goods, rather than letting
everyone in the store and charging higher prices? (By Maya Wawi)
Some store requires their customers to pay entry fee. The member fee varies from different
warehouses, club and stores. For example Costco membership fees is 55$. While Sam s club
membership fees is 45$. Even though you pay for the membership, you are guaranteed to get the
lowest and best prices. The question that come up why do they charge membership fees and have a
lower prices on goods, rather than letting everyone in the store and charge at a higher price.
Consumer are alert for saving. They are always on the look out to find the best prices and best

Castration Anxiety And Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Texas Chainsaw Massacre follows Sally and her friends when they take a trip to see her
grandfather s old home, unfortunately when they wander outside the property they get attacked
by the family of cannibals living next door. The sole survivor is Sally. Teeth follows teen virgin
Dawn who after being raped realizes she has vagina dentata, she then harnesses it with the intent
of avenging herself against those who have wronged her. In order to compare these two films, I
will be analyzing how each interacts with the concept of castration anxiety. Castration anxiety as
outlined by Freud is when a boy looks at his mother and realizes she does not have a penis, he
views his mom as castrated and thus to him his mother is a warning of his castration. Carol
Clover in Her Body Himself and Dumas in Horror and Psychoanalysis have elaborated on this
concept in the genre of the horror explaining that castration anxiety is not only fear of penile harm
but of one s power being taken away.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is somewhat problematic because while the idea of a femme fatale is progressive Dawn
border s on being regressive specifically in the final sequence of the film. At the end of Teeth Dawn
has hitched a ride only to find the driver wants a sexual favor in return. Dawn then looks at the
camera smiles and turns around ready to seduce the man. The song You Did by Chuck Prophet
starts playing giving the scene an upbeat almost sensual tone. This gives Dawn agency as she is no
longer a victim and thus no longer a fully sympathetic character, instead, she is on the verge of
becoming the castrating monster men

Late 19th And Early 20th Century
In today s society an individual can travel to cities all over the world and experience different
technological innovations in various forms. Skyscrapers, highway systems, and suspension bridges
are all forms of innovation that, through the help of engineering and complex technological
systems, can be observed in nearly every city around the world. These technological innovations
have allowed sprawling urban environments to become the definition of a developed country,
despite their infamous reputation for loud noises, traffic, and decreased air quality. Seen and unseen
forces such as organization of labor and an expanded industry base gave rise to these urban centers
through thoughtful planning and execution. In order for great American cities to form, a
technological system must be in place. This system must incorporate a dedicated workforce that
acknowledges diversification of labor. The Lowell Mills from the late 19th and early 20th centuries
represent a system that allows economic prosperity through production (Hindle, 186). A very
streamlined work flow emanated from intangible factors such as boarding houses and management
that ensured employees worked together in tandem (Hindle, 187). This system... Show more content

Structures such as the Brooklyn Bridge and the Chicago Life Bridge were all products of
carefully executed plans to promote trade. This economic system was backed by both visible
forces such as the construction that went into the structures, and invisible forces such as the
technologies of trade and diversification of labor. The growth of these modern cities is no
coincidence, as governmental systems recognized that the future of a city is entirely dependent on
its economic capability. This drive for economic success has led to New York becoming the largest
regional economy in the United States, and the world s premier financial

Who Is The Parson In The Canterbury Tales
The Parson of Chaucer s Canterbury Tales In Chaucer s Canterbury Tales, the author reveals the
true motives of the Parson, a man overcome with godly love. Though Chaucer usually makes
even the most evil of souls seem decent, he makes certain there is no other way to describe this
person except as lawful and honest. The Parson sets a good Christian example in his character as
a whole. Initially, Chaucer describes the Parson as a holy minded man of good renown (487), a
statement that may bring to mind other characters who seem good, but are truly evil at their
core. Though this may seem a likely case in the first few lines of the Parson s introduction,
instead he is found to be a man who lacks money, but makes up for it in his godliness (489). He is
lowly of service and instead of moving to London to make an easier living (517), the Parson prefers
to remain in his village and watch over his fold (520) because he views the townspeople as his
sheep and himself as the shepherd.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

mentions that the Parson makes calls to the townspeople even in rain or thunder, /In sickness or

believed in helping others and being of service to them that he gave from both church offerings and

When Cultures Collide Essay
Mergers and acquisitions has become an important part of the American commerce, which
communication plays an important role in reducing the negative impacts. While Schweiger agrees
that failure to communicate with employees during a merger will increase employee uncertainty
and anxiety, he highlights that previous researchers (Napier et al., 1989) did not measure
uncertainty nor any of the supposed dysfunctional outcomes said to follow uncertainty.
Communication is also suggested by others to be avoided, as it might alert competitors or cause
employees to leave an organization rather than endure painful changes (Buono Bowditch, 1989). It
can also threaten management s ability to respond flexibly to changes during a merger or acquisition

The preview of the experiment was deemed effective that the vice president of the human resource
immediately introduced it to the control plant at the end of the experiment. As opposed to Buono
Bowditch s worry that employees will be unable to cope with the change and thus resign, only two
employees resigned from both plants, out of the 126 employees employed in the experimental plant
and 146 employees in the control plant.
Schweiger concluded that communications can help employees cope with the effects of mergers
and acquisitions to reduce the negative impacts to the organizational effectives, as should it be left
unchecked, it could become costly to an organization and undermine the initial aspects and
objectives of the merger or takeover.

The battle of African Americans for more noteworthy parts in North American military clashes
traverses four centuries. Open doors for African American support in the U.S. military were
continuously extremely constrained and dubious. Shares, avoidance, and racial segregation were
based on the common disposition in the United States, especially with respect to the U.S. military,
that African Americans did not have the scholarly limit, fitness, and aptitudes to be fruitful
contenders. Political weight applied by the dark press, social equality bunches, verifiably dark
schools and colleges, and others, brought about the development of the Tuskegee Airmen, making
them a fabulous case of the battle by African Americans to serve in the United States military. In
the mid 1940s, key pioneers inside the United States Army Air Corps (Army Air Forces) did not
trust that African Americans had the scholarly ability to wind up effective military
pilots.Subsequent to succumbing to the weight applied by social liberties gatherings and dark
pioneers, the armed force chose to prepare a little number of African Americanpilot cadets under

The Age Of Digital Technology Essay
This Land is My Land, This Land is Your Land
It is an incalculable added pleasure to any one s sum of happiness if he or she grows to know,
even slightly and imperfectly, how to read and enjoy the wonder book of nature. Theodore
Roosevelt
I m a millennial, in my early 20 s, part of the largest living generation. The first generation to
grow up completely immersed in the age of digital technology. A generation that is known for
duck face selfies. A generation that is now responsible for saving our nation s parks. As for me
and so many other Americans, it s not an overstatement to say that our national parks have
played a major role in shaping my life. As a child, I was drawn to them because of their size and
beauty even at a young age I knew that these places were special. Now, as a young adult, I have
been lucky enough to deepen my understanding of myself by wandering their trails. Last year, over
350 million people visited national parks or forests. Yet, Congress continues to underfund the
National Park Service (NPS) who is responsible for upkeep, training, education, and conservation.
As an avid park goer I can attest to their beauty as well as how crucial they are to our country. Our
national parks and forests need more funding so they can continue to preserve critical wildlife,
boost local economies, and embody an American tradition.

The Great Depression Of The United States And Canadian...
Summary
As the Great Depression continued to tighten its grip on America, nature turned against many
already suffering Americans. The Dusty Bowl, also know as the Dirty Thirties, was a period of
severe dust storms that greatly damages the ecology and agricultural production of the United
States and Canadian plains. Many farmers and ranchers were driven to the Great Plains by the
American sense of expansion. The land they inhabited was used primarily for ranching till
advances in agricultural mechanization and high grain prices caused by World War I, made
agriculture more productive as ever; thus causing farmers to exploit the land in their attempt to
make a large profit, setting up the region for an environmental catastrophe. As a result of over
farming, a failure to implement dryland farming techniques which would have prevented topsoil
wind erosion and a severe drought, 150,000 square miles of land in Kansas, Colorado, Texas,
Oklahoma, and New Mexico, faced havoc not previously seen in American history. The first black
blizzard occurred in 1931, and they occurred till conservation efforts in the 1940s, but the damage
had been done, reflected on the upturned land and record heat, as well as the unleashed swarm of
locust and jackrabbits, causing terror in children and adults alike. Consequently, massive amounts
of people migrated from the plains fleeing the storms, and those who stayed faced the harmful
effects from the inhalation of dust particles.

Sorrows of Young Werther
WERTHER AND SELF DECEPTION Romanticism was deeply interested in creating art and
literature of suffering, pain and self pity. With poets pining for a love long gone and dead and
authors falling for unavailable people, it appears that romantics in literature were primarily
concerned with self injury and delusion. In Goethe s novel The Sorrows of Young Werther , we
find another romantic character fulfilling his tragic destiny by falling victim to extreme self
deception. Werther s story may appear simple and even trite to some a young man falls in love
with a woman he can never be with and deludes himself into believing that she loves him too only
to be severely disappointed in the end. When nothing is left to look forward to,... Show more

In his delusional quest to consider himself unique and then prove it, he had only used Lotte as
an excuse. When it is clear that Lotte is not interested in him, Werther still keeps on deceiving
himself by decoding her words and actions. In one scene, after his frustrated explosion, Lotte
sternly tells him off: I was, please, to think of myself, Werther then tries to decode her words as
Angel! For you I have to live! (48). At the very first perceived sign of her interest, Werther
declares: [She] loves meВ….and how precious I have become to myself, how I I can say this to
you, who have understanding for such emotions how I worship at my own altar since I know
that she loves me! (50 51). Romantics viewed genius as some kind of tragedy in itself. For some
odd reasons greater intellectual power was seen as a magnet for chaos and suffering. Werther
seems to understand this better than anyone else around him and thus predicts and almost expects
a tragic ending for himself. Werther becomes fatalistic in his views since he subscribes to
romantic views on genius and its connection with fatality. He writes to William: why genius so
rarely breaks its bonds, why it so seldom bursts upon us like a raging torrent to shatter our
astounded souls? My friend, it is because of the sober gentlemen who reside on either side of the
river, whose precious little summerhouses,

Preposition includes to kinds of function words which means a word that doesn t belong to one of
the four major parts of speech in English (noun, verb, adjective, adverb). Their purpose is not only
to express meaning but to relate other words to each other (Hornby, 1975:7).
Prepositions are words normally placed before nouns or pronouns and can also be followed by
verbs but, except after but and except, the verb must be in the gerund form (Thomson, 1986: 91)
A preposition is a words that links a noun or a noun equivalent (e.g. a pronoun or a gerund) to
another word by expressing such relationships as location, direction, time, or purpose.
(Longman,...............).
Preposition are always followed by nouns (or pronouns). They are connective words that show the
relationship between the nouns following them and one of the basic sentence elements: subject,
verb, object, or complement. They usually indicate relationship such as position, place, direction,
time manner, agent, possession, and condition, between their objects and other parts of the
sentence. Prepositional phrases usually provide international asked for by the question words who,
what, where, when, why, how, and how long. The noun or pronoun following the preposition is it s
object. A pronoun used in this position is always an object pronoun: me, you, him, her, it, us, and

and eating disorders. Now that might sound weird, but what I mean is I find it interesting and
want to figure out how it effects people. I want to know how it effects people s daily life. Now a
day s society glorifies personality disorderssuch as depression and eating disorders in general.
Disorders aren t something to be glorified they are something that some people struggle with and
sometimes can t live with their disorder or illness. There are many types of disorder, from
bipolarity to bulimia to schizophrenia. My family has a background of being bipolar or depressed.
Some say depression isn t a mental disorder but it is a serious illness... Show more content on

The official definition of a personality disorder is a psychopathological condition or group of
conditions in which an individual s entire life pattern is considered deviant or nonadaptive although
the individual shows neither neurotic symptoms nor psychotic disorganization according to the
Merriam Webster dictionary. I interpret to mean that there is some pattern of conditions that makes
the person seem a divergent compared to other people of the same age group and gender. Even
though people have these conditions, they show nothing that makes them seem inconsistent with
brain activity or anything like neurosis, which is a class of mental disorders that are derived from
distress, but do not include hallucinations or delusions. In the first cluster of disorders, Cluster A,
there are three disorders: Paranoid personality disorder (PD), Schizoid personality disorder (PD),
and Schizotypal personality disorder (PD). These disorders are classified as odd, bizarre, or
eccentric. A person with Paranoid PD has absolutely no trust in others, they are suspicious of
everyone and everything, looking for something that would confirm why they feel this distrust for
everything in their lives.

Descriptive Essay On Walking On Sunshine
Walking on Sunshine
When I was born in 1999 Serena and Venus Williams were on their way to becoming
international tennis stars. Apparently, my parents were avid tennis stars at the time, and so
they named me Katrina, and a few years later they named my little sister Serena. Now Serena
and I have never played a game of tennis together, in fact I don t even think she s played a game
of tennis ever. I really doubt that my parents knew that they were going to conceive another child
in 2003, therefor I find this short anecdote to be completely false. I just think my dad is old and as
it was 18 years ago he s forgotten.
My dad also told me how my parents nearly settled on the names Maya and Sara. Hearing this
makes me somewhat grateful for my name, seeing as Sarah s, are a dime a dozen in this world.
While I do find the name Maya intriguing, I don t really see myself as a Maya. One aspect of my
name that I love is my middle names, and yes, I mean middle names as in two. When I was
younger I thought it was so cool to have two middle names, and my dad s story behind the first
one never failed to make me feel special.
My dad s choice of Jewel, because at the time I was as precious as a jewel. My mother rounded off
my middle name with a simple Ann, which stemmed from her middle name. Combined together
they make a somewhat unique Jewel Ann. I think I still like my middle name, its different, I think
that s why I like it. The cherry on top of the name sundae is my last name

Abolition of Slaver in the Cape
The abolition of slave trade was passed by the British Parliament on 24 August 1833. This
affected South Africa , which was a British colony at the time, as many colonists at the Cape had
lots of capital invested in their slaves. Colonists were particularly annoyed because payment of
the slaves was to be collected personally in England, and in many cases the cost of the trip would
be more than the money received. (www.sahistory.org.za) In order to answer this key question,
information relating the following questions has been researched: What were the implications of
the Abolition? Was the affect positive or negative from the traders and slave point of view? What
impact did the end of the external slave trade have on the cape slaves and... Show more content on

He argues that the cape slavery depended principally on whips and chains . He also argues that
laws limited punishment of slaves by their masters to the same type of punishment a husband and
father could apply to his wife and children obviously excluding the whip and any other harmful
weapons and that violent punishment was not restricted to the slaves. However it was completely
legal to whip a slave. Therefore with the abolition of slaves there was a sense of fear to leave.
Shell says that there is a clear effect of slavery on the twentieth century and probably for many
more years to come, he says it was a dominating part of history that changed the lives of many
people which changed the country. He states slavery, not the frontier and certainly not the process
of industrialization shaped South Africa .
The Very era that ended bonded labour and, in 1853, established a non racial franchise, also saw
the emergence of new forms of unfree labour and, perhaps most tragically, the emergence of
modern racist ideologies in South Africa .
Slavery had a general influential effect on shaping the master class s attitudes and labourers. In the
Western Cape it also moulded the consciousness of pose slave labour. Those who say the present

Comparing Sea Turtles And Sea Turtles
Sea turtles are one of the most beautiful creatures in the ocean. They have been on this earth for
more than 110 million years in the era of dinosaurs. These guys have always caught my interest
mostly due to cuteness and how unique they are. They have always been my favorite because
they are so peaceful When I was younger, I had pet turtle named Shella, and she was absolutely
my most favorite pet I could ever ask for. Unfortunately, she was getting very big for her tank and
would constantly had to be cleaned and had a strong stench. We eventually took her and released
her to a nearby lake.
Sea turtles do not really do much other than reproduce and looking pretty. They spend most of
their lives in water close to warm temperature and near the coast and their life span can be lived
up to about 80 years. Although they are not on top of the food chain in the ocean, they use the
outer shell to help them survive and for use for protection around their body. The shell (carapace)
not only helps protects them but is also to help sea turtles swim with ease. You can tell the
difference between a sea turtle and a land turtle from many ways. Some observations you can
make is the location of where you see them. They are sometimes bigger than the average turtle and
have softer shell. If you also notice how sea turtles cannot retract their heads and legs into their
shell when they are frightened or resting. Some, but not all have a distinct color, sea turtles have a
green and yellow pattern

changed his life fast. Leigh Ann, the mother, was the one who wanted Michael to live with them.
Michael s life was changed dramatically after he moved in with Leigh Ann and her family. She

A Report On Summit Electronic Supply
1. Summit Electronic Supply was in need of new systems that could mend some of their unique
business process problems. Summit s line of business involves being the distributor of electronics
equipment to electrical contractors, giving the company a high volume of transactions and
inventory turnover (Laudon, 2013). The most important processes for Summit included stock
keeping units and order transactions. As a distributer, Summit s main concern was to fulfill its
orders on time. To do so, Summit needed to have meticulous records of the location and
availability of its products. Summit sold a high volume of cable and wires that were hard to keep
track of. Since these materials were sold in lengths, (e.g. 500 feet of cable), it was vital to keep
track of exactly how much inventorywas left. Another important process of Summit were its sales
chargebacks. Sales chargebacks are when a supplier sells a higher wholesaler price to the distributor
than the price the distributor had set with the retail customer (Laudon, 2013). Keeping track of
chargebacks was vital to the company as it ensured that no extra revenue was lost. Another
important business process for Summit was its warehouse accommodations. Summit would set up
temporary warehouses to supply large customers with long term job sites (Laudon, 2013).
2. Summit s outdated legacy system made it very difficult for the company to continue its
performance. First, the company s old system made it nearly

New Learnings Of Supply Chain Management
Until the Council of Logistics Management modified the definition of logistics to specify it as a
subsection of supply chain management, many considered the two terms as one in the same. New
learnings in the arena of supply chain management demonstrate the supply chain s ability to support
organizational business strategies. A supply chain in its entirely encompasses a wide range of
activities from basic commodities, to selling finished goods to consumers, to recycling products
(Harrison van Hoek, 2011). This includes the process of planning and controlling procurement,
transportation, conversion, and distribution across the entire supply chain. Collaboration between
partners such as suppliers, third party logistics(3PL) providers, intermediaries, customers, etc., is
inclusive in supply chain management. Simply stated, supply chain management is the method in
which business gets done.
Most people do not realize that the products filling the shelves in every aisle of retail stores are the
result of supply chain management. Cumulative efforts of multiple organizations within a supply
chain enable customers to fill their shopping carts with various goods. Today, managing supply
chain activities in order to maximize customer value and gain competitive advantages in the
marketplace is common business practice. This process involves streamlining the supply side of
businesses, which requires an effort by suppliers to cultivate and implement the most efficient and

Dear Johannes,
1 am not surprised of the outcome of your meeting with Mr. Smythe Jones (CFO). However, I
cannot answer your request until I heard from local management. As it was agreed on the last
meeting, we were precluded ,from doing any work without first getting approval from
management at the headquarters and we were instructed by local management from doing
anything until they finalized what was required from us. It appears to me to be a Catch 22
game! 1 believe we (your Firm and ours) should not fall in the game of passing the ball to
someone else before getting a clear understanding of what is going on. We have had several
meetings with local management where the issue has been raised and were responded that other
priorities were established by the headquarters (on my end I thought they tell you everything they
have been instructed of locally, unfortunately it does not seem to be the case). In my opinion it

are receiving on your end. However, we are not the enemy. 1 am not sending copy of this message

Josiah Strong is mostly concerned that Catholicism and Mormonism is a treat to the progressive
nature of the United States. He has a much greater fear of the Catholics or Romans as he calls
them. He believes that what they stand for is a danger to the declaration of independence based
on the ideas they stand for. The examples he gives are that the Catholics are opposed to the public
school system, approve union of church and state, censor freedom of press and speech, teach
religious intolerance instead of liberty, they have loyalty to the popeand not to the states, abide by
the commands of the pope and not of the constitution, and they have sovereignty for the pope and
not the people (371) He questions how the Catholics could both swear loyalty

Rhetorical Analysis of Cicero s Defense of Marcus Caelius...
Cicero believed that a good orator must do three things in his speech: earn the favor of the
audience, provide persuasive arguments, and move the audience with emotional appeals. In his
defense of Marcus Caelius Rufus one finds an excellent example of Cicero s work and through
close examination can glean some additional information about what Cicero felt was needed in a
good speech. With such scrutiny it becomes readily apparent that each of the three objectives need
not be attained equally. Because while Cicero does attempt to gain the favor of his audience,
provide persuasive arguments, and presents the audience with powerful emotional appeals, he
spends a vast amount of time providing the jurywith proofs (persuasive arguments), a... Show more

However, his most obvious attempt to entertain his listeners is seen in his adoption of various
personas, such as the famous Caecus (Cicero, p.141 142), or Clodia s younger brother (Cicero,
p.143) and finally the strict and lenient fathers who address Caelius directly (Cicero, p.143 144).
The reasons why he resorts to these methods are almost as evident as the methods themselves. In
this trial there is little to no physical evidence, the prosecution is based almost entirely on the
testimony of Clodia (as Cicero points out (Cicero, p.140 141)) and various other witnesses. And
despite the fact that Cicero claims Fact will be pitted against fact (Cicero, p.137) the outcome of
the case depends largely on which side the jury chooses to believe; Cicero knows that if the jury
is on his side then they will tend to value his points over those of his opponents. In order to sway
the jurors he flatters them and attempts to entertain them, because if they feel good will towards
him as he speaks that could easily be transferred to his statements as well. This is extremely
important because much of his defense rests on attacks upon the

Sex Relationships And Relationships Between Children And...
While it is possible for men and women to be victims of intimate partner abuse, the vast majority
of the available research focuses on women as the victims and men as the aggressors. The
challenge is that in identifying the many variables and results of abusive relationships, the data can
be skewed to favor one gender over another, and there needs to be more study into same sex
relationships and partner abuse and heterosexual relationships where the female is the aggressor
and the male is the victim. With that said, there is much that is currently being done for those who
are in abusive relationships, with perhaps the most important task being preventing relationship
violence(Hays et al., 2015). Introducing programs across the country that are specifically for
students can help reduce the incidence of domestic violenceand identify those who are at risk for
entering into an abusive relationship (Hays et al., 2015).
Current trends in domestic violence Currently group therapy and getting the victim into a safe
house are the most used tools to help the victims of abusive relationships but this one size fits all
model is not universally successful in prevention and treatment (Lothstein, 2015; Nicholas, 2013).
Group sessions have been shown to be extremely effective in increasing knowledge and awareness
of all types of relationship violence while increasing the opportunity to have conversations on such
topics in many settings (Hays et al., 2015). For as effective as therapy

backboards and cervical spine precautions has its benefits and its flaws. Since the implementation
of the backboard, it has been used for extrication, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, spinal or cervical

The Specific Learning Disability
Under IDEA (2004), Disproportionality continues to exist in several categories listed, especially the
categories of the Specific Learning Disability (SLD), Emotional Disturbance (ED), and Intellectual
Disability (ID) ,(Gamm, 2007). Disproportionality is defined as the overrepresentation and under
representation of a particular population or demographic group in special or gifted education
programs relative to the presence of this group in the overall student population (National
Association for Bilingual Education, 2002). So many factors are responsible for this
disproportionality, but the key factors, as apparent from researchers are; (1) gender difference, (2)
overrepresentation of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse CLD population, (3) unsuccessful
teaching approaches, (4) poor classroom management skills, and (5) assessment policies and
practices. The gender difference is one of the key factors responsible for disproportionate in many
categories listed under IDEA. Researches show that greater numbers of male students are
recognized with special needs than female students. Across all ethnic and racial groups, twice as
many males as females are recognized as needing special educationservices in primary schools,
specifically in certain categories (Holt, McGrath, Herring, 2007). These categories are SLD, ED,
and ID. According to these facts from the U.S. Department of Education (2006) (a) Approximately

Economic Impact On The Company
Economic Impact:
Often in cases of bid rigging the amount of money that the company loses is often significantly
higher than the if the contract had be awarded to other firms. Given the number and costs of the
change orders involved with this case, led to the final construction costs being almost $82,000
over the average of all bids from other construction firms, resulting in TBB losing a great deal of
money for the quality of the work performed.
Of this $82,000, $62,893 was withdrawn by Larkin Construction in the form of cash. A reasonable
assumption with this money is that it was dispersed to parties involved in the bid rigging scheme.
Cash would be used (as opposed to ACH transfers) to conceal who benefitted from the bid rigging
scheme. These payouts ultimately are what increased the total construction costs, as the increased
costs are to cover kickbacks to those involved in the scheme.

Analysis Of The Duel In Founding Brothers
Joseph J Ellis included The Duel in his book, Founding Brothers to show the extreme complexity
behind the relationship between Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr. This duel is normally
represented in a short few lines that includes the date, the location, the outcome, and little details
about the fashion in which they dueled. Although these representations are short and concise,
they do not give the duel the justice it deserves. Ellis model does so by adding a lot more detail
to help the audience understand it was more than a short and random interaction. Ellis explains
how in order to understand the duel, one must examine the many and intricate causes of it, rather
than what actually happened in those few seconds on top of the cliff in Weehawken, New Jersey.
Ellis record of the most famous duel in American History can be used as a historical reference for
the songs Your Obedient Servant and The World Was Wide Enough that are a part of the Hamilton
soundtrack. One thing that was made sure after reading this book and listening to this song is that
Lin Manuel Miranda did his research and made the songs in his soundtrack as historically accurate
as possible. Your Obedient Servant is the song in the musical that reference the letters Hamilton and
Burr wrote back and forth leading up to the duel. These letters speaks about their many interactions
in which one of them won over the other. Hamilton did many things in order to keep Burr away
from gaining powerful positions

to solve a problem. However, I do greatly pity her because of the phase she is going through. It is
not easy getting over someone.

Communist Leaders of the 20th Century
Leadership Management, MBA 710

Communist Leaders of the 20th Century
Vladimir Lenin, Ho Chi Minh and Moa Zedong were all leaders who were visionaries and
revolutionaries who changed the world. They used communist ideals and propaganda to engage
peasants and the working class to fight for freedom and to preserve their cultural values. Each
leader and his followers successfully changed the economic and political structure of their countries
as well as influencing the rest of the world for decades to come.

Driven by oppression and exploitation of the working classes, he was totally dedicated to the cause,
even ending friendships that obstructed the movement s progress. He masterminded the Bolshevik
takeover of power in Russia in 1917, known as the October Revolution.
Situational Events
During the First World War, Russia was suffering and in chaos and Lenin took his chance to
overthrow the provisional government and founded the first Socialist state in the world. In power
the Bolshevik Party became known as the Communist Party and the realities of governing such a
huge and diverse country, brought to its knees by war, famine and disease, quickly displaced the
aspirations and optimism of the people s revolution. Certainly, Lenin was intelligent, enthusiastic,
and a strong willed person. However, possession of the all those traits does not necessarily explain
the phenomena of being an effective leader. At the same time, the situational factors are very
important considerations that influence success or failure. Situational influences play crucial role
in leadership success. There were many critical situational factors that had an effect on the
revolutionary process in October 1917.
The country was exhausted by war with Germany (the I World War 1914 1917).
The Government did not have enough money to continue the war. With poor equipment, a lack of

Ethics And Ethics In The Ethical Fashion Industry
Haug Busch (2016) presented the model that explains the focus should be on ethical consumer in
the context of fashion and the consumer is the victim. Ethical fashion should be ecologically
friendly and ought to relate to working conditions throughout the entire supply chain, and the
environmental footprint of the fashionproduction process. Literature provides the simplistic view on
fashion actors ethics and responsibility. To provide a clari on picture of the ethical fashion status
one should identify the relevant actors and their cumulative influences. The application of
informing system of EFSW transdisciplinarity, as shown in the figure 5, the stakeholder actors are
the backbone of the fashion industry, they have the power and should take the responsibility for
transforming the fashion industry to ethical and fashionable. There is an increased focus on making
ethical products fashionable to solve the social and ecological aspects of the fashion industry as

The World Of 1984 Scared Me
Total surveillance. Complete obedience. Absolute authority. The world of 1984 scared me
when I first read the book last year. Never before had a book made me think so deeply about
individuality, society, and government. 1984, a manifestation of my nightmares, described a
totalitarian police state of resolute submission. The horror came when I looked upon our own
society, and Big Brother glared back at me. We live in a world where every phone call, every
text, every search, and every email can be monitored and recorded by our own government. The
National Security Agency, or the NSA, was originally proposed to monitor threats outside of the
United States, but the NSA began domestic surveillance shortly after the horrific terror attacks of
2001. This cleared the way for warrantless, unlawful tracking of American citizens. Initially, the
program collected only the data of high risk individuals in America with direct links to Al Qaeda.
Now, however, government data collection has spread to millions of otherwise innocent citizens.
Government surveillance is a direct violation of the privacyof American citizens that is dangerous,
immoral, and unlawful.
It is important to realize the dangers of government surveillance; personal information containing
sensitive details about an individual s private life put in the wrong hands or otherwise used
incorrectly could potentially have disastrous repercussions. In today s interconnected world,
everything that is said and done online is

Consent In Nursing Essay
This essay will focus on the importance of consent in adult nursing and in child nursing. Consent is
a fundamental part of the nursing process and is a legal, ethical and professional requirement all
adult nurses are obliged to adhere to. Consent is important, as it promotes patient s autonomy and
human rights. It gives people the right to contribute to the decisions made regarding their care and
treatment, giving them the right to consent or refuse. Buka, (2015)
The first point of focus in this essay will be on consent within adult field and the guidance nurses
must be aware of. It will then discuss what makes consent valid and what guidance an adult must
be aware of where a patient lacks capacity.
The second focus will be of consent in child ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Child nurses can also use the Gillick and Fraser guidelines where assessing if a child is competent
and mature enough to make decisions regarding their healthcare. They should also refer to The
Children Act 2004 for the rights of the child.
The way in which they need to communicate will differ, as they will need to incorporate ways such
as play with children depending on the age. The communication from a child nurse will need to be
at a much lower level than with adults, unless there is a disturbance to the mind or brain of the
adult. Which determines a lack of mental capacity. MCA, (2005)
Ensuring confidentiality is essential in both fields, where consent is concerned it enables patients to
make decisions free from coercion from family and friends.
Consent is a fundamental part of nursing and all nurses must gain it before any form of healthcare
is carried out on patients. NMC, (2015). All patients have the right to make informed decisions
regarding their care and where they lack mental capacity, they still have the right for nurses to make

The Rural Women of India
An ideal society functions according to a system whereby individuals both contribute to and
benefit from economic and social developments in society. The well being of a social group is
largely dependent on its economic position in society, which in turn is determined by the group s
financial condition, its educational and employment opportunities, and by the legal rights afforded
to it. The group under discussion here, rural women, has been disadvantaged in terms of privilege
and opportunities, but has nevertheless contributed considerably to economic growth and social
development in India. An example of rural success is the story of Humsana. Humsana is a Dalit
woman from Sriramnagar, Andhra Pradesh, who makes her living by plucking... Show more content

On the other hand, there exist several organisations which aid rural women by helping them gain
employment, introducing them to educational and training opportunities, and by giving them legal
and financial advice, such as Lok Samiti, Vangana and Bhartiya Grameen Mahila Sangh. There are
legal avenues of help, and the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, entitles women to receive free
legal services. Also literacy rates and education enrolment rates are both increasing, albeit slowly.
The Committee of Unemployment identifies rural women as one of the social groups most
vulnerable to unemployment and underemployment. The decline of cottage industries from the
Industrial Revolution in the 18th century onwards has resulted in the large scale unemployment of
various artisans whose skills have now become obsolete. The Green Revolution and subsequent
technological changes have further disadvantaged rural, female workers who have limited access
to training opportunities. The societal pressures that compel women to reside with their husbands
or fathers has resulted in a loss of occupational mobility. Unequal division of household
responsibilities limit the time rural women can devote to work. Rural women lack access to
capital, as village money lenders are often exploitive, and are often denied control of finances and
ownership of land. Thus, every input of production a rural woman may utilise, including her own
labour or entrepreneurship, is rendered useless. The

On T П† gram, we follow pseudoadiabate from L.C.L. which cuts the temperature curve at 2
points. The 1st point is L.F.C. and 2nd point is equilibrium level. 14. Negative Area (Stable
area): The area enclosed by temperature line, dry adiabate and pseudo adiabate from surface to
L.F.C. is called negative area. It is also called stable area because in this area environment lapse
rate is always less than the dry adiabate lapse rate (D.A.L.R.) and pseudo adiabatic lapse rate. In
this area temperature curve always lies to the right of dry adiabate and moist adiabates. 15.
Positive Area: The area enclosed by temperature line and moist adiabate between L.F.C. and

Escher s Art Analysis
Continuing with my self promotion pieces to get PalbergWERX Design + Photography noticed in
this over stimulated communications age, I began work on my second famous artistic image in
history. You can read Part 1 in this series HERE.
[Click and drag to move]
This time I choose M.C. Escher s work Humanity . Again, there have been numerous imitations and
this ribbon type illustration is well known to the general public.
This is a much more challenging project as the illustration is very precise in how it is able to
convey the front features of both characters as well as make a believable ribbon that shows both
the volume and shape of both heads.
As I mentioned, it was important that the work was now in the creative commons, even if I was
not going to use the original work in my promo piece itself. Below is the image that I achieved in
my first try at this. In hindsight, I had a few issues that I didn t fix, but will highlight during this
article.

The first step is finding a suitable photo in my case, I wanted two images of myself but, not
mirrored and somewhat posed like the original Escher heads.

background. This isn t strictly necessary ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

look right. When I placed the Palberg above the WERX I knew I was then going in the right
direction. For the most in control I created a unique layer for each letter and then just moved them

TEACHING NOTE
Sally Jameson: Valuing Stock Options in a Compensation Package (Abridged)
Objectives
This case has two educational objectives. First, it serves as an introductory case on option
valuation in which students can use market data to place a dollar value on an option they are likely
to encounter in their business careers. As such, the case encourages a discussion of the application
of option pricing models, such as Black Scholes, and exposes students to popular misconceptions of
how options should be valued. Second, the case permits a discussion of the wisdom and efficacy of
incentive stock compensation plans using options.
Synopsis
This case details a thinly disguised situation faced by a recent Harvard MBA graduate ... Show more

The case suggests to students that they first attempt to value the option assuming that Ms.
Jameson expects to stay at Telstar for the full five years needed to vest, and ignoring taxes and
the lack of tradability of the option grant. The grant gives Ms. Jameson a European call on a non
dividend paying common stock currently selling at $18.75, with an exercise price of $35.00,
and a maturity of five years. (In practice, this type of option would be structured so as to vest
over the five year interval, and exercisable over a window from perhaps five to ten years from
the date of grant.) The student has to choose between a cash grant of $5000 or 3,000 out of the
money calls. Students first impressions will likely be similar to those of the executives quoted in
the supplementary The Wall Street Journal article: Out of the money options are worthless.
However, given the volatility of Telstar common stock, their analysis should convince them that
these options are far from worthless.1 To value this European call, students need to assess the
likely volatility of Telstar common stock, and they have both data that can be used to calculate the
historical volatility (Exhibit 3) as well as all of the options quoted on Telstar (Exhibit 1).
Instructors can use the case to discuss the mechanics of working through Black Scholes (e.g., how

Goblin Market Is a More Effective Narrative Than The Lady of Shalott Christina Rossetti uses
narrative techniques and perspectives more effectively in her poem, Goblin Market than Alfred,
Lord Tennyson does in his ballad, The Lady of Shalott. A narrative is a text with a plot. Narratives
are important because they convey information and ideas to other individuals through a story.
Important narrativetechniques include language, point of view, narration, speech (length of lines,
rhyme), and tense. Goblin Market uses simple vocabulary and lots of imagery, even from the very
beginning of the poem. Lines 5 30 describe the fruits that the Goblins sell in a way that appeals to

  • 2. Myers-Brigg Personality Analysis According to Myers Brigg personality test I am an INFJ (Introverted Intuitive Feeling Judging Personality): As I read the description on learning style, it surprised me how accurate the results were by just answering a few basics questions. For instance, a distinguish quality of an INF is creativity that it usually results in an inclination towards the arts. Moreover, an INFJ type personality tends to seek majors in the fields of education, counseling and science. In that sense, I am not only an artistic person, but also a student who loves science and seek to help others. As a matter of fact, I chose a career in the humanities during my undergraduate tenure as well as studies in biology (Human anatomy) for the reason that I believe that biology and the humanities go hand in hand. In my opinion, if someone decide to become a doctor or chose a career in the medical field, for example, it is not just enough to have knowledge about how the human body works, but also it is of great importance to posses an understanding of the social, and cultural aspects of an individual that is language, race, religion, etc. The same is true for the humanities, and proved of that is that some well known writers have even produced literature in the context of science (doctor/patient relationship), such... The second statement does not apply entirely to my learning style. I said entirely for the reason that I don t disrespect authority, I don t challenge authority, but I don t take statements as absolute truths without tangible explanation. In other words, a statement such because that s the way it is , it does not satisfy my curiosity as a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. A Leading Airline Group With Effective Security Systems... A leading airline group with effective security systems and culture . Qantas requires an organisational culture of behaviours that support its security vision, policies and procedures. With direction from the Board, the airline has embarked on a journey to identify its current security culture and develop a method to assess and improve the culture going forward. There is little evidence to suggest that this has been accomplished elsewhere, particularly within aviation, and the findings will play a key role in Qantas ability to influence regulators. The focus for this project is on the Australian market and the 65% domestic market share, however there is evidence to suggest that considerations will also need to be made in the new and growing Asian markets. Qantas engaged PwC to assist them with this project. PwC consulted some 332 Qantas employees including Executives to understand the desired future state for security culture, and a cross section of Middle Management and the Frontline to establish the current state. Findings from Executive conversations were largely consistent with what emerged as ideas for change from the Middle Management and Frontline levels. Overarching themes encompassed the need for greater engagement including collaboration and a clearer understanding as to how security culture fits into the broader culture, specifically how security supports safety and is aligned to the brand values and desired organisational behaviours. PwC also engaged an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Memory Retention Of The Presentation Information And Those... We found that there was no significant difference between the memory scores of those who thought they had to teach the information and those who were told nothing. Yet, a consistent trend was found with both dependent variables. Although the trend does not fall within the confidence band, it can be considered a consistent trend because it is constant for all four different conditions. Refer to Figure 2, the memoryscores were consistently lower when white noisewas present, regardless of which condition the participants were in. In addition, the anxietylevels were slightly higher when white noise was present regardless of active or passive condition, refer to Figure 3. Our null hypothesis states that there will be no significant difference in memory retention of the presentation information between those who are told they must teach the presentation right after and those who are not told anything, and there will be no difference in anxiety levels when noise is introduced into the classroom. However, our study tested the hypothesis that the potential of having to speak publicly would enhance memory retention. Yet, our results proved otherwise. Opposite to what we hypothesized, the memory for all four groups remained relatively consistent with one another with respect to the active and passive conditions. Anxiety did not have a major impact in boosting memory performance, even when white noise was in the background. We found that from the perspective of the student, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The New House Construction Of Rylai Enterprises Near... 1.0 INTRODUCTION This report assesses two available locations for the new house construction of Rylai Enterprises near University Malaysia Pahang (UMP). After reviewing the background, these two sites are the best for the new house construction. The strategic and the features at both locations are the reason I chosen both of them. However, I recommend we choose Taman Tas as our site for Rylai House Construction. 1.1 Background Rylai Enterprises is a well known company and has the consistent performance in international level. So, this is the huge opportunity for the company to run their business well by constructing single storey terraced house. By the feedback we received, there are some UMP students people nearby requesting a new house lot for their staying. Moreover, people who are working at UMP having a hard day to find the house. Even worse the only available house is too far away for them. As you know, house nowadays is so difficult to get because of the land available decrease year by year, yet the landlord of both locations is willing to sell the land at low price and I m sure Rylai Company can afford any one of them. We are planning to construct affordable house for the fresh graduate students and for the adults these days. The house type is single storey terraced house with a newest design by the architect Mr Tan Kai Jun. According to Mr Tan, every single house is complete with systematic drainage system to prevent flood. In addition, the project cost should not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Examples Of Robert Frost Views On Nature My perspective is Robert Frost views on man and nature . The particular aspects of nature expressed in Frost s poems were often determined by the subjective responses of his characters to their surroundings. He showed people who were emotionally strong, either within themselves or through human ties, as feeling secured in their relationship with a benevolent nature because they were able to accept it and its movements without fear. They were able to cope with the violence that also seemed a part of the natural world. Those, however, who were alone, weak, and fearful found in their environment a reason for anxiety, and it was in their eyes that nature assumed hostile and malevolent qualities. Robert Frost apparently used symbol in his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He meant by this that nature acts according to its own principles without regard to human purposes. He had no belief in Nature s holy plan , no conviction that nature linked his human soul to her fair works. Nature was not hostile to man, for hostility would imply in nature a consciousness of specifically human concerns. But nature did not oppose man s purposes; it simply enacted its own tendencies. It was not friendly to man. Its unfriendliness was infinite, for it extended through all the circumstances that surrounded man. Despite the check which they got when they looked for friendly response from nature, human beings persistently wished for sympathetic intelligence in their surroundings and hopefully construe ambiguities that may be taken for signs of it. Water, the immemorial symbol of life, figured in Frost s poetry as immortal force operating in nature within man s range of action, which can be channeled to accomplish human purposes or can overwhelm by its exuberance. It was the conviction of his loneliness in an unfriendly universe that furnished the substance of Frost s nature poetry. There was always something else in his poetry. All of them had a very few ... • 8. The Imaginary Institution of India The Imaginary institution of Indian: Politics and Ideas Ch5 8 As you dive into the text of Sudipta Kaviraj s The Imaginary institution of Indian: Politics and Ideas (2010) he begins to already question the sense of Nationalism. Indian s didn t really have any sense of nationalism up until the British came to power. Kaviraj states it is often essential to ask whose history this is, in the sense of history for whom rather than history of whom. (Page 170) Because it depends on which said the story is told. In earlier periods of Indiathey felt a weaker version of patriotism which was an ancestor for Indian nationalism (Page 174) which would be different from today s patriotism and that there is no connection between being patriotic and being Indian. He says that the consciousness becomes nationalist before it becomes India s only because they happen to realize it later in time. Kaviraj regards India to be closely parallel to what Gramsci said about Italian nationalism. There are two conflicts, One of memorialism of Italy s Roman past to what it is today and, two today s modernity and the construction of the Italian identity. He compares the two because Italian history had some similar influences to that of colonialism. Gramsci says that there is no concrete line in which Italian culture is connected by, the only continuity they have is just propaganda. Each century in India had its own literature. Any time they would summarize a principle of the past they would only ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. Castration Anxiety And Texas Chainsaw Massacre Texas Chainsaw Massacre follows Sally and her friends when they take a trip to see her grandfather s old home, unfortunately when they wander outside the property they get attacked by the family of cannibals living next door. The sole survivor is Sally. Teeth follows teen virgin Dawn who after being raped realizes she has vagina dentata, she then harnesses it with the intent of avenging herself against those who have wronged her. In order to compare these two films, I will be analyzing how each interacts with the concept of castration anxiety. Castration anxiety as outlined by Freud is when a boy looks at his mother and realizes she does not have a penis, he views his mom as castrated and thus to him his mother is a warning of his castration. Carol Clover in Her Body Himself and Dumas in Horror and Psychoanalysis have elaborated on this concept in the genre of the horror explaining that castration anxiety is not only fear of penile harm but of one s power being taken away.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is somewhat problematic because while the idea of a femme fatale is progressive Dawn border s on being regressive specifically in the final sequence of the film. At the end of Teeth Dawn has hitched a ride only to find the driver wants a sexual favor in return. Dawn then looks at the camera smiles and turns around ready to seduce the man. The song You Did by Chuck Prophet starts playing giving the scene an upbeat almost sensual tone. This gives Dawn agency as she is no longer a victim and thus no longer a fully sympathetic character, instead, she is on the verge of becoming the castrating monster men ... • 11. Late 19th And Early 20th Century In today s society an individual can travel to cities all over the world and experience different technological innovations in various forms. Skyscrapers, highway systems, and suspension bridges are all forms of innovation that, through the help of engineering and complex technological systems, can be observed in nearly every city around the world. These technological innovations have allowed sprawling urban environments to become the definition of a developed country, despite their infamous reputation for loud noises, traffic, and decreased air quality. Seen and unseen forces such as organization of labor and an expanded industry base gave rise to these urban centers through thoughtful planning and execution. In order for great American cities to form, a technological system must be in place. This system must incorporate a dedicated workforce that acknowledges diversification of labor. The Lowell Mills from the late 19th and early 20th centuries represent a system that allows economic prosperity through production (Hindle, 186). A very streamlined work flow emanated from intangible factors such as boarding houses and management that ensured employees worked together in tandem (Hindle, 187). This system... This economic system was backed by both visible forces such as the construction that went into the structures, and invisible forces such as the technologies of trade and diversification of labor. The growth of these modern cities is no coincidence, as governmental systems recognized that the future of a city is entirely dependent on its economic capability. This drive for economic success has led to New York becoming the largest regional economy in the United States, and the world s premier financial ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Who Is The Parson In The Canterbury Tales The Parson of Chaucer s Canterbury Tales In Chaucer s Canterbury Tales, the author reveals the true motives of the Parson, a man overcome with godly love. Though Chaucer usually makes even the most evil of souls seem decent, he makes certain there is no other way to describe this person except as lawful and honest. The Parson sets a good Christian example in his character as a whole. Initially, Chaucer describes the Parson as a holy minded man of good renown (487), a statement that may bring to mind other characters who seem good, but are truly evil at their core. Though this may seem a likely case in the first few lines of the Parson s introduction, instead he is found to be a man who lacks money, but makes up for it in his godliness (489). He is lowly of service and instead of moving to London to make an easier living (517), the Parson prefers to remain in his village and watch over his fold (520) because he views the townspeople as his sheep and himself as the shepherd.... • 15. When Cultures Collide Essay Mergers and acquisitions has become an important part of the American commerce, which communication plays an important role in reducing the negative impacts. While Schweiger agrees that failure to communicate with employees during a merger will increase employee uncertainty and anxiety, he highlights that previous researchers (Napier et al., 1989) did not measure uncertainty nor any of the supposed dysfunctional outcomes said to follow uncertainty. Communication is also suggested by others to be avoided, as it might alert competitors or cause employees to leave an organization rather than endure painful changes (Buono Bowditch, 1989). Open doors for African American support in the U.S. military were continuously extremely constrained and dubious. Shares, avoidance, and racial segregation were based on the common disposition in the United States, especially with respect to the U.S. military, that African Americans did not have the scholarly limit, fitness, and aptitudes to be fruitful contenders. Political weight applied by the dark press, social equality bunches, verifiably dark schools and colleges, and others, brought about the development of the Tuskegee Airmen, making them a fabulous case of the battle by African Americans to serve in the United States military. In the mid 1940s, key pioneers inside the United States Army Air Corps (Army Air Forces) did not trust that African Americans had the scholarly ability to wind up effective military pilots.Subsequent to succumbing to the weight applied by social liberties gatherings and dark pioneers, the armed force chose to prepare a little number of African Americanpilot cadets under extraordinary conditions. The Age Of Digital Technology Essay This Land is My Land, This Land is Your Land It is an incalculable added pleasure to any one s sum of happiness if he or she grows to know, even slightly and imperfectly, how to read and enjoy the wonder book of nature. Theodore Roosevelt I m a millennial, in my early 20 s, part of the largest living generation. The first generation to grow up completely immersed in the age of digital technology. A generation that is known for duck face selfies. A generation that is now responsible for saving our nation s parks. As for me and so many other Americans, it s not an overstatement to say that our national parks have played a major role in shaping my life. As a child, I was drawn to them because of their size and beauty even at a young age I knew that these places were special. Now, as a young adult, I have been lucky enough to deepen my understanding of myself by wandering their trails. Last year, over 350 million people visited national parks or forests. Yet, Congress continues to underfund the National Park Service (NPS) who is responsible for upkeep, training, education, and conservation. As an avid park goer I can attest to their beauty as well as how crucial they are to our country. Our national parks and forests need more funding so they can continue to preserve critical wildlife, boost local economies, and embody an American tradition. • 18. The Great Depression Of The United States And Canadian... Summary As the Great Depression continued to tighten its grip on America, nature turned against many already suffering Americans. The Dusty Bowl, also know as the Dirty Thirties, was a period of severe dust storms that greatly damages the ecology and agricultural production of the United States and Canadian plains. Many farmers and ranchers were driven to the Great Plains by the American sense of expansion. The land they inhabited was used primarily for ranching till advances in agricultural mechanization and high grain prices caused by World War I, made agriculture more productive as ever; thus causing farmers to exploit the land in their attempt to make a large profit, setting up the region for an environmental catastrophe. As a result of over farming, a failure to implement dryland farming techniques which would have prevented topsoil wind erosion and a severe drought, 150,000 square miles of land in Kansas, Colorado, Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico, faced havoc not previously seen in American history. The first black blizzard occurred in 1931, and they occurred till conservation efforts in the 1940s, but the damage had been done, reflected on the upturned land and record heat, as well as the unleashed swarm of locust and jackrabbits, causing terror in children and adults alike. Consequently, massive amounts of people migrated from the plains fleeing the storms, and those who stayed faced the harmful effects from the inhalation of dust particles. Setting The Great ... • 19. Sorrows of Young Werther WERTHER AND SELF DECEPTION Romanticism was deeply interested in creating art and literature of suffering, pain and self pity. With poets pining for a love long gone and dead and authors falling for unavailable people, it appears that romantics in literature were primarily concerned with self injury and delusion. In Goethe s novel The Sorrows of Young Werther , we find another romantic character fulfilling his tragic destiny by falling victim to extreme self deception. Werther s story may appear simple and even trite to some a young man falls in love with a woman he can never be with and deludes himself into believing that she loves him too only to be severely disappointed in the end. When nothing is left to look forward to,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In his delusional quest to consider himself unique and then prove it, he had only used Lotte as an excuse. When it is clear that Lotte is not interested in him, Werther still keeps on deceiving himself by decoding her words and actions. In one scene, after his frustrated explosion, Lotte sternly tells him off: I was, please, to think of myself, Werther then tries to decode her words as Angel! For you I have to live! (48). At the very first perceived sign of her interest, Werther declares: [She] loves meВ….and how precious I have become to myself, how I I can say this to you, who have understanding for such emotions how I worship at my own altar since I know that she loves me! (50 51). Romantics viewed genius as some kind of tragedy in itself. For some odd reasons greater intellectual power was seen as a magnet for chaos and suffering. Werther seems to understand this better than anyone else around him and thus predicts and almost expects a tragic ending for himself. Werther becomes fatalistic in his views since he subscribes to romantic views on genius and its connection with fatality. He writes to William: why genius so rarely breaks its bonds, why it so seldom bursts upon us like a raging torrent to shatter our astounded souls? Some observations you can make is the location of where you see them. They are sometimes bigger than the average turtle and have softer shell. Summit s line of business involves being the distributor of electronics equipment to electrical contractors, giving the company a high volume of transactions and inventory turnover (Laudon, 2013). The most important processes for Summit included stock keeping units and order transactions. As a distributer, Summit s main concern was to fulfill its orders on time. To do so, Summit needed to have meticulous records of the location and availability of its products. Summit sold a high volume of cable and wires that were hard to keep track of. Since these materials were sold in lengths, (e.g. 500 feet of cable), it was vital to keep track of exactly how much inventorywas left. Another important process of Summit were its sales chargebacks. Sales chargebacks are when a supplier sells a higher wholesaler price to the distributor than the price the distributor had set with the retail customer (Laudon, 2013). Keeping track of chargebacks was vital to the company as it ensured that no extra revenue was lost. Another important business process for Summit was its warehouse accommodations. Cicero believed that a good orator must do three things in his speech: earn the favor of the audience, provide persuasive arguments, and move the audience with emotional appeals. In his defense of Marcus Caelius Rufus one finds an excellent example of Cicero s work and through close examination can glean some additional information about what Cicero felt was needed in a good speech. With such scrutiny it becomes readily apparent that each of the three objectives need not be attained equally. The reasons why he resorts to these methods are almost as evident as the methods themselves. In this trial there is little to no physical evidence, the prosecution is based almost entirely on the testimony of Clodia (as Cicero points out (Cicero, p.140 141)) and various other witnesses. And despite the fact that Cicero claims Fact will be pitted against fact (Cicero, p.137) the outcome of the case depends largely on which side the jury chooses to believe; Cicero knows that if the jury is on his side then they will tend to value his points over those of his opponents. The Specific Learning Disability Under IDEA (2004), Disproportionality continues to exist in several categories listed, especially the categories of the Specific Learning Disability (SLD), Emotional Disturbance (ED), and Intellectual Disability (ID) ,(Gamm, 2007). Disproportionality is defined as the overrepresentation and under representation of a particular population or demographic group in special or gifted education programs relative to the presence of this group in the overall student population (National Association for Bilingual Education, 2002). So many factors are responsible for this disproportionality, but the key factors, as apparent from researchers are; (1) gender difference, (2) overrepresentation of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse CLD population, (3) unsuccessful teaching approaches, (4) poor classroom management skills, and (5) assessment policies and practices. The gender difference is one of the key factors responsible for disproportionate in many categories listed under IDEA. Researches show that greater numbers of male students are recognized with special needs than female students. Across all ethnic and racial groups, twice as many males as females are recognized as needing special educationservices in primary schools, specifically in certain categories (Holt, McGrath, Herring, 2007). • 40. Economic Impact On The Company Economic Impact: Often in cases of bid rigging the amount of money that the company loses is often significantly higher than the if the contract had be awarded to other firms. Given the number and costs of the change orders involved with this case, led to the final construction costs being almost $82,000 over the average of all bids from other construction firms, resulting in TBB losing a great deal of money for the quality of the work performed. Of this $82,000, $62,893 was withdrawn by Larkin Construction in the form of cash. A reasonable assumption with this money is that it was dispersed to parties involved in the bid rigging scheme. Cash would be used (as opposed to ACH transfers) to conceal who benefitted from the bid rigging scheme. These payouts ultimately are what increased the total construction costs, as the increased costs are to cover kickbacks to those involved in the scheme. • 41. Analysis Of The Duel In Founding Brothers Joseph J Ellis included The Duel in his book, Founding Brothers to show the extreme complexity behind the relationship between Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr. This duel is normally represented in a short few lines that includes the date, the location, the outcome, and little details about the fashion in which they dueled. Although these representations are short and concise, they do not give the duel the justice it deserves. Ellis model does so by adding a lot more detail to help the audience understand it was more than a short and random interaction. Ellis explains how in order to understand the duel, one must examine the many and intricate causes of it, rather than what actually happened in those few seconds on top of the cliff in Weehawken, New Jersey. Ellis record of the most famous duel in American History can be used as a historical reference for the songs Your Obedient Servant and The World Was Wide Enough that are a part of the Hamilton soundtrack. One thing that was made sure after reading this book and listening to this song is that Lin Manuel Miranda did his research and made the songs in his soundtrack as historically accurate as possible. Your Obedient Servant is the song in the musical that reference the letters Hamilton and Burr wrote back and forth leading up to the duel. These letters speaks about their many interactions in which one of them won over the other. Hamilton did many things in order to keep Burr away from gaining powerful positions ... The horror came when I looked upon our own society, and Big Brother glared back at me. The National Security Agency, or the NSA, was originally proposed to monitor threats outside of the United States, but the NSA began domestic surveillance shortly after the horrific terror attacks of 2001. This cleared the way for warrantless, unlawful tracking of American citizens. Initially, the program collected only the data of high risk individuals in America with direct links to Al Qaeda. Now, however, government data collection has spread to millions of otherwise innocent citizens. The decline of cottage industries from the Industrial Revolution in the 18th century onwards has resulted in the large scale unemployment of various artisans whose skills have now become obsolete. The Green Revolution and subsequent technological changes have further disadvantaged rural, female workers who have limited access to training opportunities.
