Argumentative Essay Tips
Crafting an essay on the topic of "Argumentative Essay Tips" may prove to be a challenging
endeavor. One must navigate through the intricate process of presenting a persuasive argument
while adhering to the principles of clear and concise writing. The task involves not only
expressing personal opinions but also substantiating them with well-researched evidence and
logical reasoning.
To begin, the writer must delve into the subject matter, conducting thorough research to gather
relevant information. This demands time and effort, as a comprehensive understanding of the
topic is essential to construct a compelling argument. Analyzing various perspectives and
viewpoints is crucial, as an effective argumentative essay acknowledges and refutes
counterarguments.
Structuring the essay poses another layer of complexity. Balancing the introduction, body, and
conclusion, while maintaining a coherent flow of ideas, requires a careful approach. Each
paragraph should seamlessly connect to the next, creating a cohesive narrative that guides the
reader through the argument.
Additionally, mastering the art of persuasion is pivotal. The writer must employ persuasive
techniques such as ethos, pathos, and logos to appeal to the audience's emotions, credibility, and
logic, respectively. Striking this balance is no easy feat, as it demands a nuanced understanding
of the target audience and the ability to tailor arguments accordingly.
Moreover, articulating thoughts concisely is a skill that often eludes many writers. The challenge
lies in conveying complex ideas with clarity, avoiding verbosity while ensuring that every point
adds value to the overall argument. This requires careful editing and refinement, as well as an

Description Of The Installation Police Received A Call...
At 13:45 EST on January 1st 20xx, the installation police received a call from Mr.
X, a supervisor at the gymnasium (also the location used for hosting redeployment
ceremonies and other functions). He reported that one of his workers Mr. Q, was
in possession of a backpack that he found unattended in the men s locker room.
According to Mr. Q, he opened the bag out of curiosity to find out if there is a
name or any identification so that he can return it to the owner. Mr. Q noticed an
empty or dummy pipe bomb container inside the backpack. The supervisor requested
a patrol car and officer to be sent to the location. Officer A, was the first on the scene
and upon investigation and interview with the witness/worker determined that the
package was a dud/dummy. Officer A, was an Explosives Ordnance Soldier prior to
joining the installation policeforce and has extensive knowledge and experience with
explosives. Officer A s assessment of the situation was that, it could either be an
expensive prank or a dry run for a future attack.
The installation police chief informed us of the situation, based off of Officer A s
assessment, knowledge and experience with explosives. Based on this tip from the
installation police chief together with other intelligence reports, there is a credible
threat with indications of an imminent attack, possibly involving the use of a crude
pipe bomb for any type of CBRNE attack on the installation. We do not have all the
facts and although we will not

Change and Culture Case Study In tough economic times, companies are looking for
ways to continue to provide services and products to the public without
compromising quality and efficiency. When it comes to smaller businesses, or
businesses that provide the same product or service, it is often wise to merge the

Leading by example is the most effective way to produce results. The middle
managers in most companies are more approachable than top management; therefore
it is imperative that middle managers are on board with the new vision of the
company and display this in a positive way. While the merger is occurring it is
essential to build a team atmosphere, full of open communication, honesty, and
teamwork. Each employee from both companies should feel as though their
positions is important, and their cooperation is essential to the success of the
forming company. Once the merger is complete, it is all about the new culture,
staying visible, approachable, and communicating information early and often
(Bolton Lewis, 1998). Aside from ensuring employees are blending well, it is
important to focus on patient care. There will be changes implemented at every
phase of the merger, but it is important not let misunderstandings, or issues within
the staff affect the quality of care given to the patients. Once the merger has been
finalized and integration is complete, middle managers need to assess their staff to
be sure that each employee is doing his or her part to make the merge as successful
as possible. If there are employees who are resisting the changes being made within
the company, or not buying into the new culture and vision, it is necessary to
evaluate the situation and
Two Major Accomplishments
There are two major accomplishments that I consider important. One is the successful
completion of military service. The two years I served in the 2nd Infantry Division
gave me an unparalleled experience that cultivated me with a capacity for duty,
respect, courage, loyalty, and integrity, but most importantly, I learned to pursue my
goals relentlessly with great discipline. Another is recently completing a Bachelor s
degree in Environmental Studies. The program equipped me with knowledge and
skills to use interdisciplinary approaches and systems thinking in analyzing
environmental issues. As an undergraduate student, I was a teaching assistant for an
introductory environmental class. Apart from learning the incredible amount of time
and effort to prepare a lecture, let alone an entire course, I was able to transfer
knowledge to young students and inspire them to acknowledge the importance of
environmentalism and sustainability. It was one of the most rewarding experiences
when few of my students appreciated me after the finals and mentioned they would
pursue an environmentally related degree because of what they learned.... Show more

Subsequently, I secured an internship at the EPA region 10 offices and assisted in
expanding the Greening Sports Directory, a comprehensive nationwide online
resource directory to help green sports operations. Meanwhile, I have been working
for the University of Washington Intercollegiate Athletics Department as a
sustainability intern. Our goal was to reach 78% waste diversion rate at the football
stadium, thus, we focused on fan outreach and education. I led a group of volunteers
at home football games to raise awareness on sustainable sports operations and
Relationships in Good Country People, by Flannery...
Flannery O Connor s Good Country People is a story told through the examination of
the relationships between the four main characters. All of the characters have distinct
feelings about the others, from misunderstanding to contempt. Both Joy Hulga, the
protagonist, and Manley Pointer, the antagonist, are multi faceted characters. While
all of the characters have different levels of complexity, Joy Hulga and Manley
Pointer are the deepest and the ones with the most obvious facades.
The first character we encounter is Mrs. Freeman. She is the wife of Mrs. Hopewell
s tenant farmer. She is a very outspoken woman, and she [can] never be brought to
admit herself wrong on any point (O Connor 180). Mrs. Freeman is a gossip; ... Show

Mrs. Freeman knows she cannot compete with Mrs. Hopewell monetarily, but she
always gets the last word in their conversations.
Mrs. Freeman is a very domineering woman. In comparison to her husband, she is
the wheel behind the wheel (O Connor 181). Enjolras classifies Mrs. Freeman as
self righteous (36). Because she is not the landowner, she knows she must be
careful in her contempt for Mrs. Hopewell s possessions. Although she is not as
materially wealthy as Mrs. Hopewell, she takes great pride in her daughters. Mrs.
Freeman revels in the fact that Glynese and Carramae have admirers, while Joy
Hulga, though twice their ages, has never had a relationship with a boy.
When Mrs. Hopewell is not in earshot, Mrs. Freeman addresses Joy as Hulga. Mrs.
Freeman is intrigued by Joy Hulga s wooden leg. It is one of the deformities with
which she is so fascinated. Mitchell writes that Mrs. Freeman is fascinated by the
leg, but it is a secret infection, spiritual and psychological in nature, of which the leg
provides intimations (2). 1 think Mrs. Freeman calls Joy by the name she chose
because she derives secret pleasure in irritating her.
Asals brings forth the idea that Mrs. Freeman is a symbolic mother to Manley
Pointer. Both are given the last words in the scenes in which they last appear in the
story. Since Joy Hulga has turned out to be as naive as Mrs. Hopewell, Manley is
shown to be as evil as Mrs. Freeman can presumably become
Nuclear Fission Lab Report
NUCLEAR FISSION
INTRODUCTION
Otto Hahn and Fritz Strassman, two German chemists discovered the process of
nuclear fission on 17th December, 1938. However, it was theoretically explained
later by two Austrian British physicists, Lise Meitner and Otto Robert Frisch in the
1939. Nuclear fission is the process by which a heavy nucleus disintegrates or decays
into two lighter nuclei of slightly similar weights when they absorb slow moving
neutrons known as thermal neutrons. The nuclei undergoing disintegration is known
as the parent nuclei and the nuclei s formed after the decay are known as the
daughter nuclei. Along with the daughter nuclei very large amount of energy is also
released and some gamma photons are also released. The ... Show more content on

In this explanation they assumed the nucleus of a heavy atom to be comparable to
a spherical drop of liquid. The spherical shape of the liquid drop is maintained due
to surface tension of water and also due columbic force of attraction. When a
neutron is absorbed by the nuclei its energy is increased due to increased
oscillations, due to which there is change in the spherical shape of the water
droplet to ellipsoidal. if further there is increase in the oscillating energy, the
columbic force of attraction between the nucleons decreases so the shape becomes
more irregular and becomes dumb bell. The surface tension of water tends to make
the water droplet to obtain its original shape which, finally, takes place by breaking
the water droplet into two smaller water droplets of almost comparable sizes.
Similarly, the nuclear fission process can be explained. The following diagram
below shows various steps in the liquid drop
Building a Cyber-Security Policy
Organizations which rely on network infrastructure for their business operation must
utilize security technology to protect the network from harmful actions of automated
attacks as well as malicious human activity. It is also important to enact policies and
guidelines for the employees of the organization, which in many regards can be the
weakest link in the chain of security. According to a survey by The Ponemon
Institute (2012), 78 percent of respondents said their organizations have experienced
a data breach as a result of negligent or malicious employees or other insiders (p.1). A
statistic like this points to the need for comprehensive policies that detail the

The Effects Of Hunting On The World Of Hunting
The hunting society has changed drastically throughout the years due to
developmental studies with technology a huge game changer in the world of
hunting, and with the impact of over population of deer in the U.S has made a big
impact on our crops and forests, and how hunting can be good for your health with it
providing exercise and healthy eating. I will now begin to skim the surface of these
subjects.
Hunting is a very controversial subject that has only become more sensitive now
days. Some say that hunting is murder, destroying the environment due to the
possibility of exceeding proper limitations. Most hunters are out there to bag a
trophy buck known for their big body size and large racks, which is not a bad idea
due to the facts that removing an alfa male from the area will normally cause the
female deer to move to look for another alfa male causing them to leave the area, in
which could help or destroy that areas. (MILNER) A study by R. Swilhart in 1997,
shows there were over 20 million deer in the U.S alone and still growing estimating
100 deer/square mile. (Swilhart) These ever growing numbers are destroying our
crops and forests. Forest service s researcher Stephen Horsley made this assessment,
The current density is producing devastating and long term effects on forests. For
aging deer vacuum up the seedlings of highly preferred species, reducing plant
diversity and in the extreme, creating near mono cultures. It could take decades or
even hundreds of years to
Child Development Essay
Child Development Have you ever wondered how a baby grows into a child then
into an adult? I never really thought about it myself until I had a child of my own. It
is amazing to see all the psychological stage she has gone through already in her
short life. Before she becomes an adult she will go through may more stages. Some
developmental psychologists believe that all children go through the same stages in
the same order. That is not to say that all children do things at the exact same time in
their life, because some environmental factorscan speed up or slow down a child s
development. A child s psychological growth depends on the child s environment.

If a child is born with cataracts and they are removed before the age of seven, that
child s vision will develop normally. If these cataracts are not removed then they
can create extensive damage to their vision for the rest of their life. A sensitive
period is a period in a child s development that is very important for particular kinds
of development.
If a certain behavior is not learned during this sensitive time it just may not develop
to its full potential. For example, if a child is not exposed to language before the
age of seven, he or she may fail to acquire it all together. These preschool years are
significant in a child s intellectual development. There are many Psychologists with
different views and theories about this subject, but I will only talk about the view of
one. This theory of the development of a child is outlined by a Swiss Psychologist
by the name of Jean Piaget. Jean Piaget was known to be one on the century s most
influential thinkers. Piaget thought of children as mini scientists who conduct
experiments on the world just to see what will happen. He categorized development
into four different stages. They are Sensorimotor, Preoperational, Concrete
Operational, and Formal Operational. The first two years of a child s life is the
sensorimotor stage.
This is the time in an infant s life when they are discovering everything. They are
learning about different object, shapes and actions and

PHL 305: AFRICAN SOCIAL AND POLITICAL THOUGHT
QUESTION: TAKE ONE AFRICAN SOCIO POLITICAL PHILOSOPHER AND
DISCUSS:
A. HIS POLITICAL PHILOSOPHY
B. THE PROBLEM HE TRIED TO SOLVE
C. THE EXTENT TO WHICH HE WAS SUCCESSFUL.
African socialism was one of the earliest theories proffered by many African leaders
at the outset of independence. Leaders such as Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Julius Nyerere,
Obafemi Awolowo and Leopold Senghor all supported this concept but had different
approaches to it.
In this essay, my focus will be on Julius Nyerere and his approach to the idea of
African socialism.

In the area of achieving self reliance by African states particularly Tanzania,
Nyerere developed an educational philosophy which could be approached under
two main headings; Education for Self reliance and Adult education. His interest in
Self reliance shares a great deal with Gandhi s approach to Basic Education . There
was a strong concern to counteract the colonialists assumptions and practices of the
dominant, formal means of education, which he saw as enslaving and oriented
towards western interest and norms. It was designed to transmit the values of the
colonizing power and to train individuals for the service of the colonial state. It
induced attitudes of subservience, human inequality and individualism, and
emphasized white collar skills. The context of colonial education was largely alien
and the entire system was organized by racial segregation. For Nyerere who was
once a teacher himself, he believed that education had to work for the common
good, foster co operation and promote equality. He asserted that the school
curriculum should go hand in hand with de emphasizing the import of formal
examinations which merely assesses a person s ability to learn facts. He said it was
necessary for African states to abandon examinations that are geared towards
Pedro de Alvarado
I start off with a sixteenth century Nahuatl poem:
Nothing but flowers and songs of sorrow are left in Mexico and Tlatelolco, where
once we saw warriors and wise men.
We know that it is true that we must perish, for we are mortal men.
You, the giver of life, you have ordained it.
We wander here and there in our desolate poverty.
We are mortal men.
We have seen bloodshed and pain where once we saw beauty and valor.
We are crushed to the ground; we lie in ruins.
There is nothing but grief and suffering in Mexico and Tlatelolco where once we saw
beauty and valor.
Have you grown weary of your servants?
Are you angry with your servants, oh giver of life? (Sixteenth century Nahuatl Poem)

He had in his life been a major part of the conquering of the Aztec people, the
Mayan people, and a number of other Native Indian city states from Mexico to
Central America. He, in a way, is responsible for the colonization of Guatemala. It
was his actions as a commander of a conquering nation that allowed the blending of
the Spanish and Native Indians of Mexico and Central American cultures that define
that region of the world today.
The conquering of the K iche in 1527, led to the rest of the Mayan Empire to be
subjugated by 1532.
Also in 1532he is named Governor of Guatemala and in 1536 arrives in the province
of Honduras to be named Governer.
Then returned to Mexico in 1541, to lead an expedition in the Northwest Mexico,

Today I have given you all some history about a particular conquistador by the name
of Pedro de Alvarado. How he became a commander of men and ships, the type of
leader he was, and what he accomplished in his lifetime.
I am not trying to defend his actions; I m just trying to inform you all of what he did
in his life, and what those actions eventually led too.
My goal was to inform you all that even though he may have been a terrible person
in life, if it was not for Pedro de Alvarado and his fellow conquistadors actions a
handful of centuries ago, everything we know today about Mexico and

Child Trafficking in the World
A young African girl, Gracie, was persuaded into having sex with strange men and
packaging illegal drugs, all under the watch of child traffickers. Gracie s family was
murdered when she was eleven years old; shortly thereafter, an older man claimed to
be a friend of her deceased family. This man brought her to a home where Gracie was
forced to engage in sex with men she d never met; sometimes it was 3 or 4 men a day

of those people are children ( 11 Facts ). Human trafficking is a criminal act and

In other instances, child traffickers hook the family s interest with talk of a better
future; then, bribery and/or threats are used. Normally, in the more recent years,
families will be asked for payment towards the service a trafficker is providing
(NSPCC). By paying for the child s plane ticket to a new country or providing he
/she with connections, it only seems fair for the parents of the minor to come up
with a service payment. However, this is all a form of manipulation by the trafficker,
because they are not actually looking to better the life of the child that they are
indeed smuggling. The only interest is the money that is exchanged, and the innocent
families in this situation are oblivious to that fact.
Due to child trafficking, the average age a teen enters the sex trade in the U.S. is 12
to 14 years old ( 11 Facts ). This statistic is mainly due to child traffickers forcing
their victims into prostitution. Intimidating minors into sex trade is a horrible trend
among human trafficking and has become the norm. All the more, Gracie s story
gets worse; after a long two years, she was taken away by another man and was
illegally smuggled into a foreign country. There, the man locked her in a room
inside a brothel and coerced her to prostitute sex to men, as well as package drugs for
local drug dealers (NSPCC). After Gracie managed to break free from this abusive

and parts of Broome, Herkimer, Tioga and Oswego counties, there is an ugly three

republican Richard Hanna, who is retiring at the end of his current term. A standard
sized district with roughly 720,000 citizens, this rural patch of eight counties and
three universities has been faced with a drastically falling population and an ever
growing absence of jobs. With an 8.4% unemployment rate and a median household
income of only 45,000 dollars, the district that includes hard hit rust belt cities like

the past through the artists eyes. In these works we can see many styles and types
of art that display the artist mood, feelings, reactions and perspective. The early

follows the life of Scientist Dr.Ellie Arroway beginning with scenes of when she
was young and how her interest in science and the unknown wonders of space came
to be. Her journeys brought her to a astronomy lab in New Mexico in which where
she discovered sound waves from extraterrestrial lifebeings trying to communicate

As stated in the film an increase of mass suicides became prevalent due to the fact
people thought they were going to be invaded by aliens. The number of people that
attended church increased drastically when the news of communicating with different
life forms became breaking news. People struggle with the fact that maybe if we can
talk to extraterrestrial beings then maybe we can prove God existed or maybe even if
he never did exist and we just made him up so we didn t feel alone in such a
immense universe. You can see people throughout the film who protest in hate about
discovery scientist made and you can also see how people praise Ellie and her
findings, you can see how with one event everyone can react differently based off
their moral principles and beliefs in which they live
Reflection On Intercultural Studies
In this paper I will answer six question about the course I m taking intercultural
studies and what I have learned during these weeks based on my own words and
knowledge. I have learned new things that are related to the culture such as
observable, non observable, metaphor and many others, in terms of definition and
examples in real life.
Culture; it is what make people diverse in many ways. It is the thing that makes
certain country s people different from those of another country, the difference in
languages, religion, cuisine, social habits, music and even arts, all those may be
included in culture. it is also shared and learned within certain people from the same
society.
In every culture there are observable and non observable aspects, which mean that
there are some aspects that are seen and some are not seen. The observable aspects
of culture are the ones above the water and can be seen and understand, just like the
clothing, dance, language, food, music and many others. Food like dates and Arabic
coffee represent our culture from the seen side of the culture that ... Show more

I have read and heard many negative things about my own culture from people who
know absolutely nothing and believe anything the media says without actually
taking the effort to know the meanings behind these behaviors and judge everyone
from the same culture based on a personal behavior. A German friend of mine have
the same misunderstanding about my culture in terms of religion and our lifestyle,
she heard and saw people from my culture misbehave so I cannot blame her for
that, because do not really what true Islam is. And there even people who thinks all
Arabs as Muslims, and judge whatever behavior and mistake they do, and relate
that to Islam. Whereas Arabs can be Muslims or Christians or even Jewish, and
religion is nothing but a religion, and it is not a scale to compare people s
A Career in Sports Courses Essay
I am applying for sports courses as I have an interest in a range of sports and am
looking to go into a career where I can make the most of this interest. Through my
years at school I have always taken any opportunity to participate in any sport open to
me, though my chosen sport is now rowing, where I have competed internationally.
I also used to compete at national level in judo. From my experiences of these
sports, and because I spend so much time training with my team mates we all feel
quite close to each other and it encourages a friendly, competitive atmosphere. I
enjoy this as being competitive ultimately leads to better results and I feel these
flows over into my school life as well. The main reason I like rowing are the mental

This meant I was working with children who had a range of abilities, which gave me
experience in how to set up different levels of exercises for one group and also
helped me with my time management and organisation skills.
In my current course I have learned a wide range of sporting related knowledge. I
have also been placed in various environments through work experience which has
enabled me to pick up skills I would not have otherwise. I am currently doing
voluntary work experience in a leisure centre which has enabled me to be in contact
with many different people, and this has developed my social skills beyond what
they would have been otherwise.
Additionally I am also studying an Active IQ Level 2 Fitness Instructing course, in
this course I learn even more about how to work with minority groups, such as
disabled and older people. This was one of my main motivations for studying this
course, though it also is helping me towards my eventual goal of being a successful
personal trainer.
Whilst at university I hope to gain more knowledge and qualifications which will
support me in progressing into a successful career in the sporting industry. I
eventually want to get into personal training or high level coaching, so that I can
give back into the world of sport which has provided me with so many life changing
opportunities and experiences. I also hope to continue
Asylum Seeker Rights
The process, effectiveness and limitations of the human rights system in protecting
asylum seeker rights.
It is widely accepted that Governments are primarily responsible for guaranteeing
the basic human rights of their citizens, however when a person becomes an asylum
seeker they lose this State based support and protection often it may not have been
there in the first place. Without the assistance of other States this vulnerable group
of individuals can be open to persecution and violations of their rights at home and
abroad (UNHCR, 2015, np). Whilst providing a solutions based focus for the rights
of asylum seekers, it is argued that the current scope of the Convention Relating to the

The Effects Of Fossil Fuels And High Levels Of
Greenhouse...
Introduction
The phrase sustainable development is defined as meeting the needs of the present
without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. To
create an impact on lowering the usage of fossil fuels and high levels of greenhouse
gases there are several different forms of renewable energy available for worldwide
use today. This includes biofuels (bioethanol and biodiesel), biomass, geothermal
energy, hydroelectric power stations, solar powered cells, and wind turbines to name
a handful of sources of energy. Solar energy from the sun can also be derived to
produce photochemical, photoelectric, and photovoltaic energy to diversify its format.
By increasing uses of fossil fuels we endanger ourselves with the ... Show more

The protocol agreement suggested countries were required to reduce their greenhouse
gas emissions to 5% against levels produced in 1990. A further extension was
agreed to depreciate the emissions by 18% below the levels in 1990 during an eight
year time period from 2013 to 2020.
The triple bottom line (TBL) effect is taken into consideration when used to
describe the sustainability of an industry. This is an accounting framework
measuring the economic, environmental, and social aspects over a specific period
of time. With the diversity of renewable energy and its different formats, it is an
effective method to impose and produce a TBL. These results in accelerating profits
and decelerating emissions of greenhouse gases produced by fossil fuel combusting
power stations and also nuclear power stations.
Creating renewable energy projects result in more jobs for qualified people for
installation and labour processes. Although the initial cost of installation for
renewable sources of energy is high, the maintenance costs are low and are easily
accessible, for example solar panels and wind turbine farms. The production of wind
turbine farms has drawn eyebrows for many local communities complaining about
them to be visually displeasing. However, many renewable energy projects increase
domestic revenues on tourism. A prominent example being the Hoover Dam situated

India s Post Colonial Populist Democracy
The recent experience of India s post colonial populist democracy with Moditva
(the rise of Narendra Modi as India s prime minister by mobilizing varied sections
of the Indian population: corporates, media, middle classes, Hindutva activists, a
section of Other Backward Classes and Dalits along with the poor) has
fundamentally challenged the liberal conception of democracy. It is interesting to
note that a person widely regarded as anti minorities while ignoring the normative
principle of rule of law when protecting the minorities from majoritarian violence,
gets elected by popular mandate. In this respect, Moditva ( Modified version of
Hindutva) might pose possible threats to India s democratic processes in future.
Moditva is not just a specific political agenda with a personality cult but it can be
called as what Michael Freeden calls a micro ideology . As nationalism is a micro
ideology in Freeden s parlance, Moditva can be also described as a peculiar micro
ideology . Previously, Hindutva had shown its limitations by not ensuring electoral
majority for the BJP in the 1990s. In contrast, Moditva has not only ensured a clear
majority for BJP (282 seats) with 10 seats more than the majority mark and over 60%
seats for the National Democratic Alliance (336 seats) but has also got a large
proportion of votes 31% for BJP and over 38% for NDA. Although, the vote share of
the BJP led NDA is way below the 50% mark, in a competitive multiparty democracy

COVERAGE DRIVEN VIP FOR AVALON MEMORY MAPPED INTERFACE
USING UVM
Abstract:
The verification phase carries an important role in design cycle of a System on Chip
(SoC). A verification environment may be prepared using SystemVerilog without
using any particular methodology but that will be different for every variation of the
design. The UVM testbench increases robustness of functional verification, and
allows you to create flexible, adaptable, scalable testbenches. It offers quantifiable,
measurable progress, and changing test sequences can be used to easily increase
code coverage. This project describes the use of coverage driven verification for
Avalon Memory Mapped Interface VIP using UVM methodology. The Avalon bus is
a simple bus architecture which makes the connection between on chip processors
and peripherals together into a SOPC. It is an interface that specifies the port
connections between master and slave components, and also specifies the timing by
which these components communicate. Avalon Memory Mapped (Avalon MM)
interfaces can be used to implement read and write interfaces for master and slave
components. In this work all components of testbench has been created to make a
VIP. The coverage collected on mm_cvgrp is 91.6%. The environment used random
stimulus which helps in regression to create different scenarios.

Importance Of Interlanguageization
Interlanguage Generalizations and Reasons for Their Use
Learning a new language is a complex process. It involves not only learning
vocabulary, structures, pronunciation, but also learning to use them all accurately and
at the right moment. On one hand, different researchers have demonstrated that the
acquisition of the different language structures seem to take place in a determined
order. Nevertheless, some researchers have pointed this process doesn t happen in a
straightforward fashion. As stated by Long (1990:659) it follows a U shaped course
development. It means the learner may be successful at using certain structures
occasionally and fail some other times. Therefore, numerous times, the learner will

Selinker (1972: 214) states that three sets of observable data from meaningful
performances are needed to establish relevant interlanguage identification: (1)
utterances in the learner s native language (NL) produced by the learner; (2) IL
utterances produced by the learner; and (3) TL utterances produced by native
speakers of that TL. (Selinker, 1972: 214) It is also critical to know the context in
which the utterance took place, plus: the learner s age, how his L1 works, his
schooling level, how much L2 availability he has, plus his psychological, personal
and emotional developmental stages. All of those aspects among many others that
can affect his language learning ann production process. Without this information,
attempts to analyse isolated sentences can be done, but the results of such attempts
lack validity, since two people can produce the same utterance but their reasons to
choose it may vary.
In order to analyse the sentences part of our study, it is paramount to take into
account the five central processes Selinker accounts for the different erroneous
utterances a learner produce within his interlanguage; and which may become
fossilized affecting the learner for a lifetime. Selinker (1972) classifies those process
as:
Language transfer.
Transfer of training.
Strategies of second language learning.
Strategies of second language communication.

Persuasion
Persuasion Austen s Canonical Final Words
You pierce my soul. I am half agony, half hope. Tell me not that I am too late, that
such precious feelings are gone for ever. I offer myself to you again with a heart
even more your own than when you almost broke it, eight years and a half ago... I
have loved none but you.
― Jane Austen, Persuasion
It s a love story. A fairy tale ending, a quintessential marriage, and a happily ever after
substantiates this fact. So how is Jane Austen s last written novel, Persuasion, any
different to the typical, clichГ© romance? The secret lies in the pain of the journey.
At the age of twenty seven, Anne Elliot; a mediocre maiden mistreated by those
closest to her, lost the bloom of youth and more importantly, the love of her life. Eight
years had passed since she was persuaded by her narcissistic family to terminate her
engagement to Frederick Wentworth, a gallant naval captain born of low social status
and insufficient wealth. When they meet again, both have changed significantly. But
amidst flirtatious distractions and unexpected misadventures, the pair cannot deny
the conjoined heartache and love they felt exclusively for each other, despite the
misfortunes of life.
Persuasion, written by Austen in her final days and published in 1817, is a novel
possessing a timelessness and raw nature which reflects early 19th century Britain in
a way that resonates with current modernistic society, thus justifying its inclusion in
the Literary Canon.

We ve come a long way from Alexander Graham Bell first invention of the

technology have enable us to communicate by fax, cell phone, e mail, text

Now we re able to have face time, and have other apps to help us communicate.
Well, to me technology seems to be getting better, and better every day. From my
mom s viewpoint, she thinks it made people closer to one another. The use of
mobile technologies like the cellphone and the Internet enabled us to now text, talk,
or send images/videos anywhere in the world at blazing fast speeds across landlines,
optics, and satellite frequencies). Before the only way to communicate besides, the
telegraph was by horse/train Even, the use of telegraph was a great invention, and our
messages were limited and disoriented at times. The coming of the telephone and the
intercontinental telephone lines, enable us to speak with people thousands of miles
away in an instant. It also helped with writing papers. For example, the type writers,
they were a lot more complex to use than the accessible computers we have now. We

Explain Two Common Ways To Enforce A Legal Decision
Making...
When there is a violation of the Court order on legal decision making or visitation
and parenting time is denied by either spouse, the question arises whether or not to
call the local police to report the situation. However, enforcement of a divorce
decree by the local police is totally dependent upon their attitude. There are two
common ways to enforce a legal decision making or visitation order. Either you can
ask for police intervention or go through the court with a Motion to Enforce. The
police will typically enforce any court order that mandates or prohibits conduct.
Orders to arrest, seize property, or for injunctions, count on law enforcement agencies
to be effective. Parenting time orders demand the same court authority and are
American Politics During The Nixon Administration
This Extended Essay will examine how American domestic politics during the Nixon
Administration influenced the role of the U.S and more specifically the C.I.A in their
role in the Chilean coup of 1973. Throughout this paper connections will be drawn
between various corporations which had a significant stake in Chiles industry and
economy before the coup occurred and their subsequent relationships with different
members of the Nixon Administration or those in places of power such as the
director of the C.I.A. This paper will document just how much was at stake for
various companies, and what they stood to gain or lose from a significant regime
change. Furthermore, just how the C.I.A and these American corporations waged an
economic war on Chile s economy will be examined. In addition, this paper will
provide an analysis on just who stood to gain the most from a regime change, the
American people winning a war against communism, or the multinational
corporations whose businesses in Chile could be potentially nationalized. This paper
will also examine the interdepartamental differences and rifts inside the Nixon
Administration itself, and help clarify whether or not these differences were based
upon an ideological difference or because of their roles in rival corporations. Overall
this paper will provide a broad look at just how much these large multinational
corporations had an affect upon the Nixon Administration, and how much an

Edifices to the Gods and Social Perception of A Nation
Extraordinary constructions of monuments seem to have been the staple for the
ancient Mesopotamian and Egyptian civilization yet their purposes proved somewhat
different. For the Sumerian civilization, the construction of the ancient monuments
served a multiple purpose as social, economic and religious centers and in the latter
half of the third millennium B.C.E. the Ur based civilization focused on building
schemes for their administrative, economic and agricultural benefits. In contrast, the
Egyptian civilization during the peak of the Fourth Dynasty s power during the
reign of the first three rulers of the dynasty: Cheops, Khufu and Menkuare] focused
on building projects aimed at edifying the political and religious power of the
civilization (Wake 29). Indeed, one needs only consider the fact that while the
pyramids of Egypt served as funereal complexes for their rulers the ziggurats of
ancient Mesopotamia served as cultural museums and offices for their people.
The period between 2112 B.C.E. and 2004 B.C.E. were the peak in Sumerian
civilization s development and were stereotyped by the construction of public
monuments such as the sanctuary complex for Nanna between 2112 B.C.E. and 2047
B.C.E. While historians note that the monument edified Ur Nammu, the dynastic
patriarch of the Ur based civilization, the monument served as a palatial complex,

The coyote is a wild canine, sort of like the wolf, it s just much smaller than a wolf
that you would see in the more northern areas of the states/canada. The coyote
prefers to hunt and live in packs, this allows it to take down bigger game such as

their influence on style, manners, or less. However, many women found themselves
contributing to the formation of postmodern constructs of marriage for love,
partnership, and fidelity. Foremost among these, temporally and popularly, are the
examples of Elizabeth Woodville and Anne Boleyn. Undoubtedly, these cases hold
great significance to cultural studies of the temporal periods in which the English
identify as participants, but they also aid in seeing the eventual popular
degradation of women from chaste matrons and aloof maidens to lusty bawds and
traitorous whores. By this degradation and extensive primary sources, scholars can
easily find these women as examples of the use of one s image for power in
redefining concepts of queenship, and also women who set the standard to view the
gradual combination of partner and lover in understanding social history.
Aristocratic women in the Court system as a whole find relatively little attention
by the most popular works on its culture. David Starkey , Alison Weir , and David
Gunn , even though they offer insights on topic largely relegated to popular
histories and romances; women, in fact, receive little merit for their Courtly careers.
Yet, it is important to recognize that the late medieval and Tudor Court offered an
increasing number of roles for women to fill, as well as, a semblance of stability.
The key to the ability for young women to

Advantages of Online Voting System[6]:
It is very much portable system as the system works on internet only the internet
supporting device is required. It is very fast as compare to traditional paper ballot
voting system. The voter doesn t need to wait in long queue for voting. He /She can
cast their vote just on a single click This system gives the freedom of casting the

Disadvantages of Online Voting System[6]:
The designing phase of this system is highly complex. As the system has deal with
large number of users and has to maintain huge database The whole system operates
over the internet which makes the system more susceptible to online threats so the
security issue is the main concern of this system. This system is very much costlier

The Rise and Fall of the Shang Dynasty
The Cities of ancient times are a wonder to us. How did they flourish? What did
they do to survive? What technology did they learn and use? It is all these things
that we search for when we try to uncover how the past led to the people of the
present. Here we ll learn what the Shang Dynasty of China was, what they
accomplished, what problems occurred, and finally what became of them. The Shang
Dynasty, or Yin Dynasty, was the first real historic Chinese Dynasty. It existed from
around 1766 BC to 1122 BC. Long thought to be only a Legendary Dynasty , it ruled
in the northeastern region of area known as China Proper , which refers to the lands
of China where the Han Chinese were the Majority Ethnic Group. According to the...

The only things that have survived were some pottery, jade objects, and ritual
bronze vessels. We have also found that the Kings whole entourage was sacrificed
and buried along side him. These people would have been his Ministers, servants,
slaves and concubines. The Shang people had a complicated belief system. They
used a technique called pyromancy which required the use of a turtle shell or a
bone. After drilling a hole into the bone or shell they would write there questions on
it along with the name of an ancestor, usually former kings. They would then
expose the shell/bone to fire, from which it would obtain cracks. They had
professional diviners, or sometimes the King himself, Interpret those cracks to get
answers to those questions. Only the king was allowed to write the questions on the
bones/shells because he was believed to be the only one noble and holy enough to be
heard by the gods when he asked a question. The most important part of Shang
religion was there ancestral Worship that later became known as Confucianism and
Chinese Thinking . This concept of the Shangs lived on even after the Dynasty was
attacked and conquered. The Shang Dynasty ended with an attack from the
neighboring Zhou Kingdom, in 1122 BC. After his Army was defeated by the Zhou,
Shang Zhou, the last king, committed suicide. The legends say that his army betrayed
him by joining with
Spirituality Is The Fundamental Element Within The...
Spirituality is the fundamental element in the formation of Indigenous identity.
However, since the arrival of European settlement, the sense of spirituality has been
severely damaged. Since 2009, Deadly Choices have effectively empowered
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to make healthy choices for themselves
and their families. Deadly choices offers an effective path to help Indigenous people
reconnect to their land, culture and beliefs through the identification of the
breakdown of spirituality and thus, providing a variety of educational programs
about health and leadership to support in the recovery of their lives. Furthermore, the
employment of well known and inspirational Indigenous ambassadors offer guidance
and encouragement to help Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people represent
their culture with pride. Indigenous spirituality primarily focuses on the sense of
connectedness to the land, family, beliefs and traditional culture. Mudrooroo is an
Aboriginal writer who explains that spirituality is a oneness and an
interconnectedness with all that lives and breathes, even with all that does not live
or breathe. This sense of oneness with the world is also known as Kanyini, which
involves 4 key elements, connection to land, spirituality, beliefs (values) and family
(Lai, 2013). A connectedness with land plays a crucial role in Indigenous spirituality.
The land is often spoken of and referred to as Mother Earth , which all living things

Abstract Colorimetric assay is a process of determining a concentration of a solution
based on absorbance of light. The purpose of this lab is to determine if the Bradford
assay is an accurate way to determine an unknown concentration of two samples of
protein. The Bradford assay is done by measuring wavelength of light passing through
a cuvette filled with Bradford dye and concentrations of PBS and proteins. After the
cuvettes are mixed they are placed into a spectrophotometer to measure wavelength.
The wavelength given will be used to plot a standard curve based on concentration (x
axis) and wavelength (y axis). The standard curve is then used to measure an educated
guess on the concentrations of unknown protein concentrations. We hypothesized that
if we use the Bradford assay and colorimetric spectrophotometry we can determine an
accurate concentration of two unknown concentrations of proteins. The results of this
lab failed to reject our hypothesis based on accurate measurements of protein
concentrations. The standard curves are drawn with a linear increasing slope. The
Bradford assay is an accurate way to demine the concentration of an unknown
concentration.

Strategy Development at New Town Council
Andy Bailey and Julie Verity
The two cases New Town Council and Castle Press, illustrate the process of strategy
development within different organisational contexts. Both cases are based on the
views of the strategy development process as seen by members of the respective top
management teams. The New Town case describes how four members of the top
management team view their strategy process. Both cases a reconstructed around two
general themes. The process of strategy development and the organisational context in
which it takes place.

When the Development Corporation ceased activities in the early 1990s, New Town

September 13, 1965, The Scariest And Most Haunted
Building...
On Friday, October 13, 1965, horrifying things happened in an apartment building
complex. Apartment 23B is the scariest and most haunted building in New York. It
was a dark and stormy night in New York City. Little Avery, Madison, Max, and
Aiden had a petrifying night. It caused a lot of dreadful memories that will be
penetrated in their minds forever. These kids just might find themselves in a bad
situation.
Day after day, we would pass the apartment building on our way to and from school.
Branches of vines and clusters of moss crawled up the sides of the building. I could
see the paint tearing off the walls. People for years have said the apartment building
is haunted, but I don t believe it. They say people have been possessed ... Show more

Aiden said with a smirk on his face. Why? You scared? They all laughed began to
walk again.
When we reached the door, I took a deep breath and walked in. As the doors
slammed shut behind us, we looked around to find the paint chipping off the walls, a
odor that smelled of rotting wood, and a large staircase.
C mon guys, Madison said as she took a few steps up the staircase. She was
fearless. The higher up we got, the darker and scarier it became. The first room when
we reached the top was the infamous apartment 23B.
Aiden looked back at all of us and said, Well, let s not just stand here. Let s go!
He pushed the door open as it creaked until it slammed against the wall. I took one
step in and felt out of place. Guys, please remind me why we are doing this still?
Because we have to show my wimpy little brother that you shouldn t believe
everything you hear, Madison said blaming it on Max as if it were his fault we
were here. We looked around. There was a torn up bed in the middle of the room,
along with the wallpaper that was ripping off the walls to reveal the structure behind.
We set up all of our stuff. Max and Aiden took the corner by the broken window and
fireplace, while Madison and I took the side with the ancient pictures and next to the
old, torn up bed. When we finally got set we decided to explore around the building.
Madison and I went together and explored the basement and the main
Sumerian s Influence On The Pyramids Of Ancient Egypt
Many people recognize the pyramids of Egypt as some of the greatest treasures of the
old world. But most people don t wonder where the ancient Egyptians got the idea
from. There were many cultures and civilizations before Egypt that could ve
influenced the idea of massive pyramids, but most think that one civilization in
particular, the Sumerians, had the most influence on the pyramids that stand today,
because of their pyramidlike ziggurats. The Egyptians probably did base the pyramids
off of the Sumerian ziggurats, because they had the same basic structure, the ancient
Sumerians had lots of influence on Egyptat the time, and they both displayed the
same symbols and meanings for their people. Everyone knows what the pyramids
look like but... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They were also influenced by Sumerian religion and the purpose of the Sumerian
ziggurats. While using the idea of the physical structure of a ziggurat, the Egyptians
also used it for their gods. Although the pyramid was used as a tomb and the
ziggurat was used as a temple; both dealt with their gods and the afterlife. As I.E.S
Edwards wrote, Pyramids were built for several kings and queens of the subsequent
dynasties, but they were in the nature of archaisms, lacking not only much of the
architectural splendour of their predecessors, but also some of their religious
significance. (Edwards, 16). No other culture influence the Egyptians more than the
Sumerians. They even re invented the Sumerian s writing system into hieroglyphics
(www,egyptorigins.org). As H.S Smith quoted, Current preoccupation (with rejection
of foreign invaders) have led, in my view, to undue neglect of the nature of the
influence of Susa and Sumer upon Upper Egypt and Lower Nubia in the Naqada IId
IIIb period. (www.egyptorigins.org). All of the evidence of Sumerian influence all
together point to the idea that the ancient pyramids were greatly influenced by the

Dehydration Effects
Dehydration Effects
Dehydration is the excessive loss of water resulting in depletion of body fluids
(Grosvenor amp; Smolin, 2006, p. 282). When the body goes through dehydration
there can be many symptoms. Some of these symptoms can include: feelings of
nausea, light headedness, and feeling dizzy. Dehydration can cause symptoms to
show more rapidly than any other vitamin deficiency. With other vitamin
deficiencies, days or weeks can pass before symptoms are felt by the body
(Grosvenor amp; Smolin, 2006). Symptoms can be seen when dehydrated after only
an hour of activity on a hot day. Water is essential to health maintenance because the
human body is more than half water. The typical adult s body weight is about 60%
water. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The minor symptoms of dehydration will go away quickly after replacing the lost
water but if left untreated medical attention may be necessary. While it may be
difficult to consume too much water, overhydrating can be as dangerous as
dehydrating. Water toxicity can be the result of consuming too much water. Some of
the early symptoms of water toxicity can be similar to dehydration. Nausea, muscle
cramps, disorientation, and confusion are just some of the symptoms of water
toxicity. To help prevent water toxicity it is recommended that beverages containing
dilute solutions of sodium as well as sugar, such as sports beverages, be used to
replace water losses when exercise continues for more than an hour (Grosvenor amp;
Smolin, 2006, p. 287). Electrolytes are important because they help maintain acid
base in the body. Electrolytes are substances that separate in water to form positively
and negatively charged ions that conduct an electrical current (Grosvenor amp;
Smolin, 2006, p. 287). The three key electrolytes in the body are sodium, potassium,
and chloride. It is important to control the amount of sodium excreted from the body
because sodium helps to regulate blood pressure. If the body loses more sodium than
it takes in blood pressure can drop. When this happens the body will release proteins
and hormones to help the kidneys retain water and sodium. Renin is an enzyme that

  • 2. Description Of The Installation Police Received A Call... At 13:45 EST on January 1st 20xx, the installation police received a call from Mr. X, a supervisor at the gymnasium (also the location used for hosting redeployment ceremonies and other functions). He reported that one of his workers Mr. Q, was in possession of a backpack that he found unattended in the men s locker room. According to Mr. Q, he opened the bag out of curiosity to find out if there is a name or any identification so that he can return it to the owner. Mr. Q noticed an empty or dummy pipe bomb container inside the backpack. The supervisor requested a patrol car and officer to be sent to the location. Officer A, was the first on the scene and upon investigation and interview with the witness/worker determined that the package was a dud/dummy. Officer A, was an Explosives Ordnance Soldier prior to joining the installation policeforce and has extensive knowledge and experience with explosives. Officer A s assessment of the situation was that, it could either be an expensive prank or a dry run for a future attack. The installation police chief informed us of the situation, based off of Officer A s assessment, knowledge and experience with explosives. Based on this tip from the installation police chief together with other intelligence reports, there is a credible threat with indications of an imminent attack, possibly involving the use of a crude pipe bomb for any type of CBRNE attack on the installation. We do not have all the facts and although we will not

When it comes to smaller businesses, or businesses that provide the same product or service, it is often wise to merge the companies together to form a stronger, more stable structure. The middle managers in most companies are more approachable than top management; therefore it is imperative that middle managers are on board with the new vision of the company and display this in a positive way. While the merger is occurring it is essential to build a team atmosphere, full of open communication, honesty, and teamwork. Each employee from both companies should feel as though their positions is important, and their cooperation is essential to the success of the forming company. Once the merger is complete, it is all about the new culture, staying visible, approachable, and communicating information early and often (Bolton Lewis, 1998). Aside from ensuring employees are blending well, it is important to focus on patient care. There will be changes implemented at every phase of the merger, but it is important not let misunderstandings, or issues within the staff affect the quality of care given to the patients. Once the merger has been finalized and integration is complete, middle managers need to assess their staff to be sure that each employee is doing his or her part to make the merge as successful as possible. If there are employees who are resisting the changes being made within the company, or not buying into the new culture and vision, it is necessary to evaluate the situation and
  • 4. Two Major Accomplishments There are two major accomplishments that I consider important. One is the successful completion of military service. The two years I served in the 2nd Infantry Division gave me an unparalleled experience that cultivated me with a capacity for duty, respect, courage, loyalty, and integrity, but most importantly, I learned to pursue my goals relentlessly with great discipline. Another is recently completing a Bachelor s degree in Environmental Studies. The program equipped me with knowledge and skills to use interdisciplinary approaches and systems thinking in analyzing environmental issues. As an undergraduate student, I was a teaching assistant for an introductory environmental class. Apart from learning the incredible amount of time and effort to prepare a lecture, let alone an entire course, I was able to transfer knowledge to young students and inspire them to acknowledge the importance of environmentalism and sustainability. It was one of the most rewarding experiences when few of my students appreciated me after the finals and mentioned they would pursue an environmentally related degree because of what they learned.... • 5. Relationships in Good Country People, by Flannery... Flannery O Connor s Good Country People is a story told through the examination of the relationships between the four main characters. All of the characters have distinct feelings about the others, from misunderstanding to contempt. Both Joy Hulga, the protagonist, and Manley Pointer, the antagonist, are multi faceted characters. While all of the characters have different levels of complexity, Joy Hulga and Manley Pointer are the deepest and the ones with the most obvious facades. The first character we encounter is Mrs. Freeman. She is the wife of Mrs. Hopewell s tenant farmer. She is a very outspoken woman, and she [can] never be brought to admit herself wrong on any point (O Connor 180). Mrs. Freeman is a gossip; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Mrs. Freeman knows she cannot compete with Mrs. Hopewell monetarily, but she always gets the last word in their conversations. Mrs. Freeman is a very domineering woman. In comparison to her husband, she is the wheel behind the wheel (O Connor 181). Enjolras classifies Mrs. Freeman as self righteous (36). Because she is not the landowner, she knows she must be careful in her contempt for Mrs. Hopewell s possessions. Although she is not as materially wealthy as Mrs. Hopewell, she takes great pride in her daughters. Mrs. Freeman revels in the fact that Glynese and Carramae have admirers, while Joy Hulga, though twice their ages, has never had a relationship with a boy. When Mrs. Hopewell is not in earshot, Mrs. Freeman addresses Joy as Hulga. Mrs. Freeman is intrigued by Joy Hulga s wooden leg. It is one of the deformities with which she is so fascinated. Mitchell writes that Mrs. Freeman is fascinated by the leg, but it is a secret infection, spiritual and psychological in nature, of which the leg provides intimations (2). 1 think Mrs. Freeman calls Joy by the name she chose because she derives secret pleasure in irritating her. Asals brings forth the idea that Mrs. Freeman is a symbolic mother to Manley Pointer. Both are given the last words in the scenes in which they last appear in the story. Since Joy Hulga has turned out to be as naive as Mrs. Hopewell, Manley is shown to be as evil as Mrs. Freeman can presumably become
  • 6. Nuclear Fission Lab Report NUCLEAR FISSION INTRODUCTION Otto Hahn and Fritz Strassman, two German chemists discovered the process of nuclear fission on 17th December, 1938. However, it was theoretically explained later by two Austrian British physicists, Lise Meitner and Otto Robert Frisch in the 1939. Nuclear fission is the process by which a heavy nucleus disintegrates or decays into two lighter nuclei of slightly similar weights when they absorb slow moving neutrons known as thermal neutrons. The nuclei undergoing disintegration is known as the parent nuclei and the nuclei s formed after the decay are known as the daughter nuclei. Along with the daughter nuclei very large amount of energy is also released and some gamma photons are also released. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this explanation they assumed the nucleus of a heavy atom to be comparable to a spherical drop of liquid. The spherical shape of the liquid drop is maintained due to surface tension of water and also due columbic force of attraction. When a neutron is absorbed by the nuclei its energy is increased due to increased oscillations, due to which there is change in the spherical shape of the water droplet to ellipsoidal. if further there is increase in the oscillating energy, the columbic force of attraction between the nucleons decreases so the shape becomes more irregular and becomes dumb bell. The surface tension of water tends to make the water droplet to obtain its original shape which, finally, takes place by breaking the water droplet into two smaller water droplets of almost comparable sizes. Similarly, the nuclear fission process can be explained. The following diagram below shows various steps in the liquid drop

I will now begin to skim the surface of these subjects. Hunting is a very controversial subject that has only become more sensitive now days. Some say that hunting is murder, destroying the environment due to the possibility of exceeding proper limitations. Most hunters are out there to bag a trophy buck known for their big body size and large racks, which is not a bad idea due to the facts that removing an alfa male from the area will normally cause the female deer to move to look for another alfa male causing them to leave the area, in which could help or destroy that areas. (MILNER) A study by R. Swilhart in 1997, shows there were over 20 million deer in the U.S alone and still growing estimating 100 deer/square mile. Some developmental psychologists believe that all children go through the same stages in the same order. If these cataracts are not removed then they can create extensive damage to their vision for the rest of their life. A sensitive period is a period in a child s development that is very important for particular kinds of development. If a certain behavior is not learned during this sensitive time it just may not develop to its full potential. For example, if a child is not exposed to language before the age of seven, he or she may fail to acquire it all together. These preschool years are significant in a child s intellectual development. There are many Psychologists with different views and theories about this subject, but I will only talk about the view of one. This theory of the development of a child is outlined by a Swiss Psychologist by the name of Jean Piaget. Jean Piaget was known to be one on the century s most influential thinkers. Piaget thought of children as mini scientists who conduct experiments on the world just to see what will happen. He categorized development into four different stages. They are Sensorimotor, Preoperational, Concrete Operational, and Formal Operational. The first two years of a child s life is the sensorimotor stage. This is the time in an infant s life when they are discovering everything. They are learning about different object, shapes and actions and

Leaders such as Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Julius Nyerere, Obafemi Awolowo and Leopold Senghor all supported this concept but had different approaches to it. In the area of achieving self reliance by African states particularly Tanzania, Nyerere developed an educational philosophy which could be approached under two main headings; Education for Self reliance and Adult education. His interest in Self reliance shares a great deal with Gandhi s approach to Basic Education . There was a strong concern to counteract the colonialists assumptions and practices of the dominant, formal means of education, which he saw as enslaving and oriented towards western interest and norms. It was designed to transmit the values of the colonizing power and to train individuals for the service of the colonial state. It induced attitudes of subservience, human inequality and individualism, and emphasized white collar skills. The context of colonial education was largely alien and the entire system was organized by racial segregation. For Nyerere who was once a teacher himself, he believed that education had to work for the common good, foster co operation and promote equality. He asserted that the school curriculum should go hand in hand with de emphasizing the import of formal examinations which merely assesses a person s ability to learn facts. He said it was necessary for African states to abandon examinations that are geared towards

By paying for the child s plane ticket to a new country or providing he /she with connections, it only seems fair for the parents of the minor to come up with a service payment. However, this is all a form of manipulation by the trafficker, because they are not actually looking to better the life of the child that they are indeed smuggling. The only interest is the money that is exchanged, and the innocent families in this situation are oblivious to that fact. Due to child trafficking, the average age a teen enters the sex trade in the U.S. is 12 to 14 years old ( 11 Facts ). This statistic is mainly due to child traffickers forcing their victims into prostitution. Intimidating minors into sex trade is a horrible trend among human trafficking and has become the norm. There, the man locked her in a room inside a brothel and coerced her to prostitute sex to men, as well as package drugs for local drug dealers (NSPCC). New York s 30th Congressional District House Election Paper: New York s 22nd Congressional District In the central New York farmland that includes Chenango, Cortland, Madison and Oneida counties and parts of Broome, Herkimer, Tioga and Oswego counties, there is an ugly three way race for the 22nd congressional district s seat, currently held by progressive republican Richard Hanna, who is retiring at the end of his current term. A standard sized district with roughly 720,000 citizens, this rural patch of eight counties and three universities has been faced with a drastically falling population and an ever growing absence of jobs. With an 8.4% unemployment rate and a median household income of only 45,000 dollars, the district that includes hard hit rust belt cities like Utica and Binghampton has seen population levels decreasing significantly since the manufacturing industry in New York fell by the wayside decades ago. There are 130,000 registered voters in the district, with 35% being democrats, 38% republicans, and another 19% independent. A slightly leaning republican voter base now roots most their careers in farming, and feel the most important issue in their district is jobs, with second amendment rights and climate change as other hot button issues. The 22nd district is firmly Trump territory, with the Donald enjoying a double digit lead over Hillary Clinton. The current congressman, Richard Hanna, is not drinking the Trump kool aid at all. This includes biofuels (bioethanol and biodiesel), biomass, geothermal energy, hydroelectric power stations, solar powered cells, and wind turbines to name a handful of sources of energy. Solar energy from the sun can also be derived to produce photochemical, photoelectric, and photovoltaic energy to diversify its format. A further extension was agreed to depreciate the emissions by 18% below the levels in 1990 during an eight year time period from 2013 to 2020. The triple bottom line (TBL) effect is taken into consideration when used to describe the sustainability of an industry. COVERAGE DRIVEN VIP FOR AVALON MEMORY MAPPED INTERFACE USING UVM Abstract: The verification phase carries an important role in design cycle of a System on Chip (SoC). A verification environment may be prepared using SystemVerilog without using any particular methodology but that will be different for every variation of the design. The UVM testbench increases robustness of functional verification, and allows you to create flexible, adaptable, scalable testbenches. It offers quantifiable, measurable progress, and changing test sequences can be used to easily increase code coverage. This project describes the use of coverage driven verification for Avalon Memory Mapped Interface VIP using UVM methodology. The Avalon bus is a simple bus architecture which makes the connection between on chip processors and peripherals together into a SOPC. It is an interface that specifies the port connections between master and slave components, and also specifies the timing by which these components communicate. Avalon Memory Mapped (Avalon MM) interfaces can be used to implement read and write interfaces for master and slave components. In this work all components of testbench has been created to make a VIP. The coverage collected on mm_cvgrp is 91.6%. The environment used random stimulus which helps in regression to create different scenarios. I offer myself to you again with a heart even more your own than when you almost broke it, eight years and a half ago... I have loved none but you. ― Jane Austen, Persuasion It s a love story. A fairy tale ending, a quintessential marriage, and a happily ever after substantiates this fact. So how is Jane Austen s last written novel, Persuasion, any different to the typical, clichГ© romance? The secret lies in the pain of the journey. At the age of twenty seven, Anne Elliot; a mediocre maiden mistreated by those closest to her, lost the bloom of youth and more importantly, the love of her life. Eight years had passed since she was persuaded by her narcissistic family to terminate her engagement to Frederick Wentworth, a gallant naval captain born of low social status and insufficient wealth. When they meet again, both have changed significantly. But amidst flirtatious distractions and unexpected misadventures, the pair cannot deny the conjoined heartache and love they felt exclusively for each other, despite the misfortunes of life. Persuasion, written by Austen in her final days and published in 1817, is a novel possessing a timelessness and raw nature which reflects early 19th century Britain in a way that resonates with current modernistic society, thus justifying its inclusion in the Literary Canon.

In contrast, the Egyptian civilization during the peak of the Fourth Dynasty s power during the reign of the first three rulers of the dynasty: Cheops, Khufu and Menkuare] focused on building projects aimed at edifying the political and religious power of the civilization (Wake 29). Indeed, one needs only consider the fact that while the pyramids of Egypt served as funereal complexes for their rulers the ziggurats of ancient Mesopotamia served as cultural museums and offices for their people. The period between 2112 B.C.E. and 2004 B.C.E. were the peak in Sumerian civilization s development and were stereotyped by the construction of public monuments such as the sanctuary complex for Nanna between 2112 B.C.E. and 2047 B.C.E. While historians note that the monument edified Ur Nammu, the dynastic patriarch of the Ur based civilization, the monument served as a palatial complex, store room for grain and wines, and a temple complex housing the

The Importance Of Hunting In Missouri Parker Wormek Dwiggins Computers 7th 25 August 2017 Missouri Hunting/trapping animals Missouri is a pretty big hunting state, having our own national forest and several plots of land dedicated to just hunting is also pretty nice. Since we have so much forestry, why don t I teach you a little bit about the wild animals that live in these deep valleys and cool springs, some of these you might not see every day. During the 2015 2016 deer season, 274,447 deer were legally harvested, this was a 7% increase from the 2014 2015 season, but a 3% decrease from the 10 year average, but lately, the population has been dropping, this is due to severe disease outbreaks, a changes in habitat availability. The coyote prefers to hunt and live in packs, this allows it to take down bigger game such as deer with ease. Coyotes in Missouri have very faint red fur that surrounds their bodies, but on their back turns to more of a gray black mix in color. The coyote will eat small game such as rodents, rabbits, fish and frogs, and larger game like deer. When the coyote is not eating it s bigger prey, they will eat snakes, insects, fruit and grass. • 40. Elizabeth Woodville And Anne Boleyn Women throughout history rarely receive attention for more than superficial causes: their influence on style, manners, or less. However, many women found themselves contributing to the formation of postmodern constructs of marriage for love, partnership, and fidelity. Foremost among these, temporally and popularly, are the examples of Elizabeth Woodville and Anne Boleyn. Undoubtedly, these cases hold great significance to cultural studies of the temporal periods in which the English identify as participants, but they also aid in seeing the eventual popular degradation of women from chaste matrons and aloof maidens to lusty bawds and traitorous whores. By this degradation and extensive primary sources, scholars can easily find these women as examples of the use of one s image for power in redefining concepts of queenship, and also women who set the standard to view the gradual combination of partner and lover in understanding social history. Aristocratic women in the Court system as a whole find relatively little attention by the most popular works on its culture. David Starkey , Alison Weir , and David Gunn , even though they offer insights on topic largely relegated to popular histories and romances; women, in fact, receive little merit for their Courtly careers. Yet, it is important to recognize that the late medieval and Tudor Court offered an increasing number of roles for women to fill, as well as, a semblance of stability. The key to the ability for young women to

It is all these things that we search for when we try to uncover how the past led to the people of the present. Here we ll learn what the Shang Dynasty of China was, what they accomplished, what problems occurred, and finally what became of them. The Shang Dynasty, or Yin Dynasty, was the first real historic Chinese Dynasty. It existed from around 1766 BC to 1122 BC. Long thought to be only a Legendary Dynasty , it ruled in the northeastern region of area known as China Proper , which refers to the lands of China where the Han Chinese were the Majority Ethnic Group. We have also found that the Kings whole entourage was sacrificed and buried along side him. These people would have been his Ministers, servants, slaves and concubines. The Shang people had a complicated belief system. They used a technique called pyromancy which required the use of a turtle shell or a bone. After drilling a hole into the bone or shell they would write there questions on it along with the name of an ancestor, usually former kings. They would then expose the shell/bone to fire, from which it would obtain cracks. They had professional diviners, or sometimes the King himself, Interpret those cracks to get answers to those questions. Only the king was allowed to write the questions on the bones/shells because he was believed to be the only one noble and holy enough to be heard by the gods when he asked a question. The most important part of Shang religion was there ancestral Worship that later became known as Confucianism and Chinese Thinking . This concept of the Shangs lived on even after the Dynasty was attacked and conquered. The Shang Dynasty ended with an attack from the neighboring Zhou Kingdom, in 1122 BC. After his Army was defeated by the Zhou, Shang Zhou, the last king, committed suicide. The legends say that his army betrayed him by joining with

However, since the arrival of European settlement, the sense of spirituality has been severely damaged. Since 2009, Deadly Choices have effectively empowered Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to make healthy choices for themselves and their families. Deadly choices offers an effective path to help Indigenous people reconnect to their land, culture and beliefs through the identification of the breakdown of spirituality and thus, providing a variety of educational programs about health and leadership to support in the recovery of their lives. Furthermore, the employment of well known and inspirational Indigenous ambassadors offer guidance and encouragement to help Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people represent their culture with pride. Indigenous spirituality primarily focuses on the sense of connectedness to the land, family, beliefs and traditional culture. Mudrooroo is an Aboriginal writer who explains that spirituality is a oneness and an interconnectedness with all that lives and breathes, even with all that does not live or breathe. This sense of oneness with the world is also known as Kanyini, which involves 4 key elements, connection to land, spirituality, beliefs (values) and family (Lai, 2013). A connectedness with land plays a crucial role in Indigenous spirituality. The land is often spoken of and referred to as Mother Earth , which all living things have

Bradford Assay On Unknown Concentrations Of Proteins Bradford Assay on Unknown Concentrations of Proteins Taylor Coleman September 27, 2016 Lab Group 3 BIOL 1111: General Biology Lab Fall 2015 Section 107 Chad Perry Abstract Colorimetric assay is a process of determining a concentration of a solution based on absorbance of light. The purpose of this lab is to determine if the Bradford assay is an accurate way to determine an unknown concentration of two samples of protein. The Bradford assay is done by measuring wavelength of light passing through a cuvette filled with Bradford dye and concentrations of PBS and proteins. After the cuvettes are mixed they are placed into a spectrophotometer to measure wavelength. The wavelength given will be used to plot a standard curve based on concentration (x axis) and wavelength (y axis). The standard curve is then used to measure an educated guess on the concentrations of unknown protein concentrations. We hypothesized that if we use the Bradford assay and colorimetric spectrophotometry we can determine an accurate concentration of two unknown concentrations of proteins. The results of this lab failed to reject our hypothesis based on accurate measurements of protein concentrations. The standard curves are drawn with a linear increasing slope. The Bradford assay is an accurate way to demine the concentration of an unknown concentration. Introduction Colorimetric assay is a process determining the concentration of a chemical element or compound in a solution

Apartment 23B is the scariest and most haunted building in New York. It was a dark and stormy night in New York City. Little Avery, Madison, Max, and Aiden had a petrifying night. It caused a lot of dreadful memories that will be penetrated in their minds forever. These kids just might find themselves in a bad situation. Day after day, we would pass the apartment building on our way to and from school. Branches of vines and clusters of moss crawled up the sides of the building. I could see the paint tearing off the walls. People for years have said the apartment building is haunted, but I don t believe it. They say people have been possessed ... As the doors slammed shut behind us, we looked around to find the paint chipping off the walls, a odor that smelled of rotting wood, and a large staircase. C mon guys, Madison said as she took a few steps up the staircase. She was fearless. The higher up we got, the darker and scarier it became. The first room when we reached the top was the infamous apartment 23B. Aiden looked back at all of us and said, Well, let s not just stand here. Let s go! He pushed the door open as it creaked until it slammed against the wall. I took one step in and felt out of place. Guys, please remind me why we are doing this still? Because we have to show my wimpy little brother that you shouldn t believe everything you hear, Madison said blaming it on Max as if it were his fault we were here. We looked around. There was a torn up bed in the middle of the room, along with the wallpaper that was ripping off the walls to reveal the structure behind. We set up all of our stuff. Max and Aiden took the corner by the broken window and fireplace, while Madison and I took the side with the ancient pictures and next to the old, torn up bed. When we finally got set we decided to explore around the building. Madison and I went together and explored the basement and the main
  • 47. Sumerian s Influence On The Pyramids Of Ancient Egypt Many people recognize the pyramids of Egypt as some of the greatest treasures of the old world. But most people don t wonder where the ancient Egyptians got the idea from. There were many cultures and civilizations before Egypt that could ve influenced the idea of massive pyramids, but most think that one civilization in particular, the Sumerians, had the most influence on the pyramids that stand today, because of their pyramidlike ziggurats. The Egyptians probably did base the pyramids off of the Sumerian ziggurats, because they had the same basic structure, the ancient Sumerians had lots of influence on Egyptat the time, and they both displayed the same symbols and meanings for their people. Everyone knows what the pyramids look like but... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They were also influenced by Sumerian religion and the purpose of the Sumerian ziggurats. While using the idea of the physical structure of a ziggurat, the Egyptians also used it for their gods. Although the pyramid was used as a tomb and the ziggurat was used as a temple; both dealt with their gods and the afterlife. As I.E.S Edwards wrote, Pyramids were built for several kings and queens of the subsequent dynasties, but they were in the nature of archaisms, lacking not only much of the architectural splendour of their predecessors, but also some of their religious significance. (Edwards, 16). No other culture influence the Egyptians more than the Sumerians. They even re invented the Sumerian s writing system into hieroglyphics (www,egyptorigins.org). As H.S Smith quoted, Current preoccupation (with rejection of foreign invaders) have led, in my view, to undue neglect of the nature of the influence of Susa and Sumer upon Upper Egypt and Lower Nubia in the Naqada IId IIIb period. (www.egyptorigins.org). All of the evidence of Sumerian influence all together point to the idea that the ancient pyramids were greatly influenced by the Sumerian
  • 48. Dehydration Effects Dehydration Effects Dehydration is the excessive loss of water resulting in depletion of body fluids (Grosvenor amp; Smolin, 2006, p. 282). When the body goes through dehydration there can be many symptoms. Some of these symptoms can include: feelings of nausea, light headedness, and feeling dizzy. Dehydration can cause symptoms to show more rapidly than any other vitamin deficiency. With other vitamin deficiencies, days or weeks can pass before symptoms are felt by the body (Grosvenor amp; Smolin, 2006). Symptoms can be seen when dehydrated after only an hour of activity on a hot day. Water is essential to health maintenance because the human body is more than half water. The typical adult s body weight is about 60% water. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The minor symptoms of dehydration will go away quickly after replacing the lost water but if left untreated medical attention may be necessary. While it may be difficult to consume too much water, overhydrating can be as dangerous as dehydrating. Water toxicity can be the result of consuming too much water. Some of the early symptoms of water toxicity can be similar to dehydration. Nausea, muscle cramps, disorientation, and confusion are just some of the symptoms of water toxicity. To help prevent water toxicity it is recommended that beverages containing dilute solutions of sodium as well as sugar, such as sports beverages, be used to replace water losses when exercise continues for more than an hour (Grosvenor amp; Smolin, 2006, p. 287). Electrolytes are important because they help maintain acid base in the body. Electrolytes are substances that separate in water to form positively and negatively charged ions that conduct an electrical current (Grosvenor amp; Smolin, 2006, p. 287). The three key electrolytes in the body are sodium, potassium, and chloride. It is important to control the amount of sodium excreted from the body because sodium helps to regulate blood pressure. If the body loses more sodium than it takes in blood pressure can drop. When this happens the body will release proteins and hormones to help the kidneys retain water and sodium. Renin is an enzyme that
