Abstract
This study compared stance marker (affect and quantifiers) frequencies and their
part of speech frequencies in males and females political jokes. 40 political jokes
were selected via social networks instant messages from native English speakers.
20 jokes were presented by females and 20 by males. The jokes comprised of 1000
words. Stance marker frequencies were assessed manually. Two categories of stance
markers were examined: affect and quantifiers. Results of the study show that
frequencies of quantifiers and affect were higher in the political jokes presented by
females than males. The data showed that most commonly, affect was expressed in
adjectives and verbs but quantifiers were adjectival and adverbial.

The onset in Somali syllable structure provokes considerable argument among
scholars who are interested in the syllable structure in this language. Owrin (1996)
and Saeed (1999) agree that onset is mandatory in this language whereas Zetterholm
and Tronnier (2012) state onsets are as optional as codas in this language. Therefore,
this research is to investigate whether onsets in Somali syllable structure are
mandatory or optional in light of Optimality Theory (OT), as a framework. This study
primarily depends on data taken from extant literature including books, articles, and
theses. Furthermore, 10 Somali native speakers were consulted about the fact of data.
This study concludes that consonant epenthesis as well as resyllbification manifest the
importance of onsets in Somali. Consonant epenthesis occurs initially when a
monosyllable word begins with a vowel (onsetless syllable), e.g., /ГЁj/в†’ [К”ГЁj]
dog . Likewise, this type of epenthesis is found in the intervocalic position when
syllables of the form CV are associated with vowel initial suffixes, e.g. /ma a:n/в†’

Our story begins in Greece, many years ago. A baby was born in the city of Athens.
Her name was Oakley. Oakley had brown, long hair with big hazel eyes. Her parents
adored her.
Eighteen years passed by and there was a big riot going on in Athens in protest of
Zeus letting Hades capture Persephone. Zeus wanted to teach the citizens of Athens a
lesson by sending them terrible storms. Innocent Oakley didn t know about the
threats from Zeus, but her parents did.
Her parents didn t want Oakley to fear of the storm coming their way, so they didn

in the world. John C. Lincoln founded the company in 1895 and incorporated it in
1906 where he moved it from his one room, fourth floor factory to a new three

general manager and vice president. It is here where the company began to define

in the number of people needing organs and the number of organs actually available
for transplantation. This lack of organs creates a serious dilemma regarding how to
increase the supply of organs for transplantation. So far, many of the efforts to
increase organ donation have focused on the procurement from deceased donors; ...
It does not seem right that an organ donor should be expected to risk their health and
life with absolutely no consideration afforded to the potential consequences that may
be inflicted upon the donor.
Considering all of the risks a donor must take on, it only seems fair to provide
some sort of compensation for their actions. Justice theory focuses on the rights
persons are entitled to, while also taking into considerations the duties imposed on
persons in society (Parks, 2010, p. 10). Duties are the actions that are required of
citizens living within a community as part of their social contract (Parks, 2010, p.
10). Although being altruistic and donating an organ to another human being is the

change these kids ways of thinking toward life. These systems are not correcting or
rehabilitating any of the unlucky youths that end up in there. They are now just
getting prepared for further depth into criminal activities. Once changes are made to
place more programs to help these kids succeed in society we will see these numbers
decrease.
