Cultural identity is the basis in which identification is used to express different
aspects pertaining to identity and heritage. A person s cultural identity may be
created by social organization, and multiple traditions and customs within their lives.
The two aspects that construct my cultural identity are the frequent chores I must
complete every day in order to fulfill my behavioral expectations, and the youth
group I attend weekly. These aspects are important to my family and I . Therefore,
my identity has an immeasurable effect on my upbringing into this multi cultural
world I live in.
Day in and day out, I have jobs and duties I must complete in order to maintain my
behavioral expectations. After my lengthy day at school, and my tiresome, soccer
practice, I come home to find a bright colored sticky note, with a list of things I must
do in order to assist my family. The list of chores always includes, cleaning my room,
which my Mom is a stickler for. Cleaning my room is a backbreaking, difficult task,
I must complete in order to continue to play sports and do the things I love.
Although cleaning my room is quite a challenging task, due to the scattered books,
pile of clothes, and water bottles covering the floor, cleaning my room will
establish organizational skills, and persevering skills that are vital in the upbringing
of my cultural identity. Even though cleaning my room is labeled on a sticky note
every day, doing the dishes is always the one chore that is highlighted in a eye
catching yellow color, that can t be overlooked. When doing the dishes, the key is to
be patient and creative when dealing with the order you want to load the dishes into
the dishwasher, and which plate or utensil should be treated with additional care.
These values and morals not only apply to my chores, but it applies to the way I
interact with others and the way my family raised me. The chores that I execute daily,
help shape me into the individual I am today, because every person I encounter I
want to be patient and care for them, just as I did with the dishes. For this reason,
everytime I clean my room, It helps me persevere through everything and anything I

In the film The Molly Maguires directed by Martin Ritt, physically shows how the
situation may have been like. The movie shows the lack of respect the supervisors
or the mining employers had for the workers. The mining company hired detective
James McParlan to find information that will go against the Mollies. Their
objective was not to only stop the mollies but to also make them go to trial and be
judged guilty, which eventually leads to their deaths. It shows that the company
did not care about their workers, but only the money they got from their labor.
They had small children working in places that they could be crushed. At the time
they still did not have a law that could protect children, it was later implemented in
1938 that prohibited child labor. In fact, we know the mining company did not
care for their workers because in the scene where Mr.Raines dies of black lung

Abstract Twitter has become one of the most important communication channels with
its ability providing the most up to date and newsworthy information. Considering
wide use of twitter as the source of information, reaching an interesting tweet for user
among a bunch of tweets is challenging. A huge amount of tweets sent per day by
hundred millions of users, information overload is inevitable. For extracting
information in large volume of tweets, Named Entity Recognition (NER), methods on
formal texts. However, many applications in Information Retrieval (IR) and Natural
Language Processing(NLP) suffer severely from the noisy and short nature of
tweets. In this paper, we propose a novel framework for tweet segmentation in a
batch mode, called HybridSeg by splitting tweets into meaningful segments, the
semantic or context information is well preserved and easily extracted by the
downstream applications. HybridSeg finds the optimal segmentation of a tweet by
maximizing the sum of the stickiness scores of its candidate segments. The
stickiness score considers the probability of a segment being a phrase in English
(i.e., global context) and the probability of a segment being a phrase within the
batch of tweets (i.e., local context). For the latter, we propose and evaluate two
models to derive local context by considering the linguistic features and term
dependency in a batch of tweets, respectively. HybridSeg is also designed to
