Teenagers Communication With Their Partners On Issues Of...
CHAPTER 2. LITERATURE REVIEW Teenagers communication with their partners on issues of
sex and their use of condoms is greatly influenced by the discussions teenagers have with their
parents on issues related to sex. However in this discussion, little is known about the process of
parent teenager communication with regards to the topic under discussion. Understanding what
parents discuss with their children and how they discuss it may lead to a greater understanding of
teenagers sexual behaviours. A literature review of researches done in the previous studies has
been done, in order to help to identify the gaps in literature so that further researches in this area
can be done. Theorectical Framework The approach that is going to be used in this study,is that of
the social cognitive theory (SCT) developed by Bandura (1997). According to this theory, human
behaviour is a result of the interaction of personal factors, the environment and the behaviour itself
(Bandura, 1997). The social cognitive theory clearly explains how people acquire and maintain
certain behavioural patterns whilst at the same time, providing the basis for intervention strategies
(Bandura, 1997). From the various behavioural factors that influence behaviour, Bandura (1986)
identified self efficacy and outcome expectations as the most salient factors. Self efficacy refers to
the ability and confidence in performing a particular behaviour or it can be looked as an individual

William Wallace s Braveheart Is An Epic Hero
Braveheart is, one of Hollywood s greatest films depicting the events of the Scottish in the
thirteenth century. Lead by the astonishing actor Mel Gibson, who played the epic hero Sir
William Wallace the leading role of course. Furthermore, synchronously producing the movie and
directing it. The main plot of this story is that Sir William Wallacerallies the Scottish against the
English Monarch and as well as Edward the first. Now that we know the gist of Braveheartlet us
delve into how William Wallace is an epic hero.
Let us talk about how William is the only character who lives by his conscience. This by itself
makes him materialize himself as above the rest and superior. This trait alone is a big problem for

Bodily-Kinesthetic Argument Analysis
My highest score was 80 which was for Bodily Kinesthetic which means that I think of self
expression or the precision to achieve a goal. I actually do agree with the statement because I am
a person who always has a goal to be perfect and get to the top. Now I do agree with the
statements that the Multiple Intelligence Survey did give me my correct answers. As I said about
the Bodily Kinesthetic was about how to always be correct or perfect, but what it said my lowest

that have ever come naturally to me. My lowest result in this survey was naturalistic, musical,

none of these things are skills that have ever come naturally to me. For example, it states in the
text that It is about being connected to who you are and how you feel, and knowing your own
limits and abilities. This means that people will know their limits in their lives and how they

another one of my lowest scores was music. This is for those type of people who enjoy making

An Analysis Of Hitchcock s The Caged Birds Versus The...
Psychologists have suggested the idea that correlation does not imply causation. In The Birds,
viewers find themselves unable to identify the purpose or the cause for the birds attacks. Hitchcock
does not want us to know the answers either, since Hitchcock marvels at his ability to make viewers
question his films and struggle at truly enjoying without fully understanding them. Although this
essay cannot find a cause for the attacks in the town or to the characters that seem to be innocent
like the children and the old man in the farm, it should shed some light on the correlation between
the timing of the attacks near the Brenner family and Melanie and their internal struggle. The
symbolism of the caged birds versus the free birds, the Jocasta complex Lydia struggles with, and
the imagery of the light versus darkness when the birds attackrepresent the journey Mitch and
Melanie face in trying to be together. First we must make the distinction between caged and free
birds. The caged birds signify a well mannered, tamed, and socially acceptable human being
while the free birds, or rather the birds that attack, have the liberty to act in opposition to the
caged ones. In the beginning scene, after Melanie s attempt to impress Mitch, Mitch salvages the
bird she mistakenly let escape and as he puts it back in its cage says, Back in your gilded cage
Melanie Daniels . This metaphorical cage Melanie resides in is one made up of riches where she is
spoiled and superficial, but she

A Native View On The Indigenous Perspective Analysis
For centuries, humans have successfully dominated the animal kingdom. They have risen above
their own physical characteristics and demolished evolutional boundaries. Like a bird soars and a
fish swims, humans have surpassed their somatic disadvantages and created synthetic versions of
these methods of travel. Humans have been so successful in conquering the mobility and patterns
of other animal species that it has led to the societal succession of humans from the animal
kingdom. Although evolutionally, Homo sapiens share common ancestors with other animals, it is
a common belief that humans are in a class of their own, separated from their primitive
counterparts. This is reinforced in the pattern of colonization in humansocieties and their... Show

Jason Wyckoff writes in Toward Justice for Animals , that Until fairly recently, philosophers and
animal advocates have generally treated the question of what we owe to non human animals as
an ethical question, with a primary focus on the treatment of particular animals, rather than as a
social or political question, with a focus on the use, exploitation, commodification, or systematic
extermination of animals. (Wyckoff 539). In other words, humans have only looked into the
morality of animal cruelty on a small scale. Is it right or wrong? If talking about a person killing
an animal for no reason, the answer would be yes. But what about the killing of an animal for a
materialistic reason, such as the skinning of animals for coats, shoes, or fashion accessories?
Because this is done on such a large scale, and has been for a long time, the line between right and
wrong has been blurred. Today s society condemns the illegal hunting of a lion, but keeps quiet on
the legal killing of other animals to fulfill their avaricious needs. This is when the morality of the
subject becomes

Mirrors by Sylvia Plath
13th March, 2014 In the poem Mirrors , by Sylvia Plath the speaker accentuates the importance
of looks as an aging woman brawls with her inner and outward appearance. Employing an
instance of self refection, the speaker shifts to a lake and describes the discrepancies between
inevitable old age and zealous youth. By means of sight and personification, shifts and
metaphors, the orator initiates the change in appearance which relies on an individual s decision
to embrace and reject it. The author applies sight and personification to accentuate the mirror s
roles. The declaimer of the poem says I am silver and exact [and] whatever I see I swallow (1, 20).
The purpose of these devices is to convey the position of the mirror in... Show more content on

According to Tomei, SylviaPlath is subject to depression just like her father (1213). Possibly
hereditary, she detaches herself from everyone due to her immense discomfort and displeasure.
Moreover, she imprints her feelings and memories in her poems as witnessed in the poem Mirrors .
Plath initiates her child hood in the narrative when she meditates on the opposite wall in her
room (6). Although a mirror is personified in the poem, it signifies Plath s nature as an
individual. As lonely as widow, she reposes against the wall, gazes at the divider and muses
about her life. This can be due to the fact that Plath felt it was her fault her father died (Freedman
159). Thus, she translates her experiences into a poem and transmutes it literary denotation to
figurative language. To conclude, everything happens for a reason and life teaches great lessons.
As detected from the shift in the poem, Plath utilizes symbols in nature to delineate her view on
the world. Situated in the criticism of Giles, Plath creates images of great sound and beauty... as
the sea is second only to the moon as one of her favorite symbols (2597). As witnessed in the
sonnet, the candles and the moon are viewed as liars; however, they are distinguished as her
favorite symbols. Since society and individuals represent these symbols, Plath conveys the deceitful
nature of people in the word. Subsequently, she turns to them

Cuneiform Vs Hieroglyphics
Cuneiform and hieroglyphics were both writing systems that emerged at the dawn of humanity, but
their legacy and impact were vastly different. The two systems not only demonstrate the early
concept of writing but show contrasting elements of civilization in globalism vs nationalism,
internal vs external, connection vs isolation. The two systems certainly diverged from one another,
but to understand this, the origins of the two writingsystems must be examined. Around the dawn of
civilization, in the last half of the third millennium, abstract symbols (meaning letters, numbers, and
other things that represent abstract thought) started to form from proto writing that had been
present for millennia in the Nile valley before the first abstract... Show more content on

But it is undeniable that hieroglyphics had more influence on history than cuneiform did, in spite of
the fact that cuneiform was more advanced for its time. This is the first way that these systems
contrast; sophistication. Cuneiform was a more advanced system than hieroglyphics simply
because cuneiform was more abstract and it was far quicker to write Sumerian with it.
Hieroglyphics was, for much of its existence, a logographic system, making it in some ways closer
to drawing than to abstract writing such as cuneiform. However, in the Neolithic times,
sophistication had an inverse relationship with influence, that is to say, that less advanced writing
systems had more influence and clout with other cultures. This may have been because it is hard to
teach an illiterate culture who may adopt a writing system, a complex, writing scheme, or a system
that doesn t work in their language. Or, it may because the more advanced a writing system is, the
fewer people in your culture understand how to use it. This can be seen with cuneiform and
hieroglyphics in a very stark way. Not many cultures used cuneiform, and when they did it worked
poorly with the language it was being used in, while hieroglyphs informed many other writing
systems, such as Hebrew, Greek, and Phoenician; it cannot be understated the

Essay on Automobiles in the 1950s
Automobiles in the 1950s Another element that was present in the 1950 s was automobiles.
Automobiles were something that everyone once dreamed of owning. Now after the war. they
could finally own one. Automobiles of the 1940 s were dull and very plain. This was because
designers were too busy designing tanks, planes, etc... for the ongoing war. The major event that
took place that changed the way cars looked and how they performed happened on October 14,
1947. This was when ChuckYeager broke the sound barrier. From this point on everyone wanted to

People wanted automobiles with larger displacement engines. They also wanted sleek and

The caddy tail fins continued to grow until they reached there height in 1959 when they were
almost as tail as the car itself.
As the number of automobiles increased so did the number of road trips that people were going
on. All of the traveling motorists needed places to stay. This brought about the development of
the motel. Motel combines the words motorist and hotel . By the mid 1950 s the smaller quaint
motor lodges of the 30 s and 40 s no longer could compete with rising motel corporations like
Howard Johnson or Best Western. These corporations designed their motels to be comfortable and
practical for those staying in them. They also built them with a standard design. The catchy
facades of the older motels were no longer attracting the customers. Motels also started franchising
and referral chains. A referral chain would consist of several motels that form a union and refer
customers to the other hotels in the union. Some large franchises that started in the 1950 s were
Super 8 and Holiday Inn. These franchises soon spread out all over the country and put the smaller
mom and pop motels out of business. With the number of road trips increasing the destinations that
they were traveling to were also bringing in more people.
These destinations included national parks, family camps, wilderness areas such as the beach and
the mountains, and to large cities such as Las Vegas and Atlantic City. Remote

Descriptive Essay About Quadna
Ring a ding ding dong goes the alarm clock and I d be up. Springing from my brown bed, and I d
be off to the shower. I would then leap from the shower and begin brushing my teeth as I would
also be trying to dry myself off. Rushing as fast as I could. I would grab my giant red bag filled
with riding gear and check through it frantically one last time to be sure I had everything. Then
my Pa and I would be off to the greatest place on earth; the racetrack. More specifically the practice
track, that was raced on about two times a year. The track was formally known as Quadna
Mountain Park. I referred to the track as Quadna like many other riders. Quadna played an
important piece in the puzzle of my racing career. Along with my families support and my own
drive and desire, Quadna was one of the most important pieces. When you first turn onto the roadto
Quadna the first thing noticed is the giant oval sign with the letters QMP in blue with mountains
set behind the letters in the background. As we passed the sign on the left side of the road, we
would always look to our right at the aged and faded gray hotel that some of the racers would
stay in to see which racers were there at the time. After we would go past the hotel we would
take a right onto a dirt road that went into what seemed like thick woods. When the trees were
full of snow it looked like a winter wonderland. But about a half a mile down the road it makes a
sweeping left handed turn and opens up into a field where the

The Role of Echocardiography in Diagnosing Treating...
Ebstein s anomaly is a rare cardiac anomaly that occurs in approximately one in 20,000 live births
and accounts for less than 1% of all congenital heart disease (Ebstein s anomaly in adults) . The
goal of this paper is to examine Ebstein s Anomaly to understand what it is, how it affects the heart,
possible presenting symptoms, and other possible complications associated with this anomaly.
Diagnosis of this anomaly is key in treating patients, thus echocardiographic as well as other test
modalities are vital in assessing what the treatment options are available, as well as discerning what
the prognosis may be. Advancing test modalities have helped distinguish Ebstein s Anomaly with

Background In 1866 Wilham Ebstein first described the cardiac defects associated with Ebsteins s
Anomaly. Ebstein was a doctor born in Prussia in 1836 who received his medical degree from
Berlin in 1859. A 19 year old patient who presented with shortness of breath and palpitations was
not able to withstand his insufficient tricuspid valve. Wilham s autopsy of the young man indicated
an enlarged and fenestrated anterior tricuspid leaflet; the posterior and septal leaflets were
hypoplastic, thickened and adherent to the right ventricle, an enlarged right atrium, and a patent
foramen ovale (Swiss Medical Weekly, 2005). Although Ebstein portrayed the first case it was not
until 1927 that Alfred Arnstein suggested the name Ebstein s Anomaly for these defects. Ten
years later in 1937 Yates and Sharpiro confirmed a case of Ebstein s Anomaly with radiographic
and electrocardiographic data (Riaz, 2013). In the past this anomaly was typically diagnosed
during an autopsy, now echocardiography is the standard for diagnosis. Once patients could be
diagnosed with Ebstein s while they were still alive, a group of symptoms was eventually composed.
Symptoms
Although minor cases of Ebstein s Anomaly may not present with any obvious symptoms in youth,

Chapter 6 explains the process of decision making in management. Managers make decisions
every day and have to live with the consequences. In the moment decisions sometimes ignore long
term consequences, especially the unforeseen ones. That s why managers need to see the big
picture and begin the decision making process with planning and defining the goal. This chapter
explains how companies should approach decision making to satisfy both short and long term
success. In this news related article to Twitter decision makings, it exemplifies the importance of
the actual person of who is making the decisions. According to this article, twitter shares increased
after news that its chief executive Dick Costolo will step down. Costolo, who resigned voluntarily,
has been the subject of scrutiny over the company slow user growth and advertising struggle.
Twitter cofounder Jack Dorsey will resume serving as the temporary Ceo until a replacement is

Homelessness
Access to Primary Care for Homeless People in the USA
History of the Topic
Homelessness is a significant health challenge to care system in the United States. Maness and
Khan state that over 610,000 people did not have a shelter in 2013 on any given night (Maness
Khan, 2014). Also, a study conducted by Health Quality Ontario (2016) reviewed homelessness
interventions between 1995 and 2015. The study indicates that the problem has been in existence
for quite some years. According to Maness and Khan (2014), an increase in the shortage of
affordable housing has been the primary trends responsible for homelessness in over thirty years.
Also, statistics indicated that about 14.3 percent of Americans and 10.5 percent of the families

On the other hand, care delivery systems that are tailor made jointly with a regular source of care
are among facilitators of access to care for the homeless (White Newman, 2014). Additionally,
orientation to clinic services was found to improve homeless people s access to care particularly
those without severe mental conditions. Studies on this topic have identified information sources
regarding homelessness as well as agencies that can support efforts aimed at addressing the
problem. Such sources include HCH and CHC programs. The National Health Care for the
Homeless Council (U.S.) (2011) provides the guide with necessary information regarding
homelessness in the U.S. thus becoming a resource for researchers as well as the public for those
concerned with homelessness.
Explored Topics by the Studies
Research work has explored various areas regarding homelessness. One of them is clinical and
medical condition that affects homeless people. As noted by Maness and Khan (2014), homeless
persons suffer the same health problems as the general population. However, unlike the general
population, individuals without shelter have long term exposure to risk factors as well as disease
agents. Such factors include poor sanitary conditions, all forms of abuse, violence, overcrowding,
poor nutrition, weather extremes, and trauma among others. The homeless are therefore exposed to
cardiovascular diseases such as

Cultural Identity Vs American Culture
What is a person s cultural identity based off of? According to Google, Cultural identity is often
defined as the identity of a group, culture or an individual, influenced by one s belonging to a
group or culture. So what is my cultural identity? I believe no one person has one singular cultural
identity. I can identify myself as a daughter, a sister, a Swede, an American, a water polo player, a
swimmer, a Mormon, a high school student, or even a world traveler. In this paper the one I will
identify as an American. As a world traveler there are many cultures I have seen very different from
the American culture. Things that make other cultures different from the way Americans do things
are based off of their customs, their routines, and their traditions. For example, in Greece it is
customary for the unfamous and poor to pay for the rich and famous s weddings and funerals. That
is different from the American culture because here in America it customary that families and
sometimes even friends plan and pay for their own family member s wedding or funeral. Another
example of a difference between American culture and other cultures is the way we celebrate
holidays. For example, my European family celebrates their countries independence day with
solemn parades and reserved attitudes, while as Americans we celebrate our independence... Show

Then, which leads into our more long term recommendation, the strong firms in the industry
tend to continue rising at a more steady and pro cyclical rate. Zynga has a particularly strong
business model that may be unseen by most investors. These reasons are that they, unlike many
app based startups, do not solely rely on advertising and banner ad revenue. While this makes up
a substantial revenue stream, they derive the majority of their profits from the sale of digital
assets which incur little to no variable costs. Also, Zynga s strength is, in part, tied to the
strength of Facebook. Though many people disagree with the immensity of Facebook s
valuation, few would disagree with the fact that it is one of the strongest, fastest growing
companies. Farmville, one of Zynga s staple products, is and has been tied to facebook since its
inception. The relationship has proven mutually beneficial for both parties and so Zynga would
probably have the chance to feature another game on Facebook. If this happens around the time
that Facebook goes public, (if it ever does), then Zynga s stock should see rapid and significant
growth. A major drop off in a recent valuation has come at the realization that many of the games
Zynga has are, faddy . This means that people love them for a small window of time and then get
over them and they go unnoticed to new users. This is true and almost

Why Is Peter Pan Uncovered
Peter Pan Uncovered After reading Peter Pan, any well minded person will acknowledge that
Peter is not a normal character. What is Peter? Is he a ghost, a spirit? Peter is a thought that the
Lost Boys have planted in their minds and imagine him there. A few reasons why this is true is
he can t be touched nor does he have weight. All physical things can be touched have, weight and
are real and are not produced by the mind. Peter is not normal, he is special and needs explaining.
In the story it clearly states that Peter is not to be touched.Obviously, if you are real you can be
touched, and Peter can t be touched, so the simple conclusion is that he is not physical. Peter is not
a person at all, he is just a mere thought that all the boys

Understanding Of Fidelity Research As A Comprehensive...
Purpose The primary purpose for this document is to establish a shared foundational
understanding of fidelity research as it pertains to the Whole School Whole Child (WSWC)
model and create shared language for related concepts. Overview City Year has established the
importance of fidelity, or program integrity, by including it in the FY12 Highest Priority Goals
(HPG #1d). Fidelity has many nuances for a program being implemented in so many locations by
so many providers with variable local conditions. Due to this complexity, we will reframe it to focus
on it as uniformity of purpose and effort. Rather than passively attempting to conform to the model
and not understanding it in within the local context, every individual who supports design and
implementation must deepen their knowledge of what the value drivers, or core components, are
within the model so that they can make reasonable decisions when a local challenge or suboptimal
condition emerges. The following briefing outlines key concepts, assets and milestones in building
a comprehensive approach to increasing quality of implementation through decreasing unnecessary
variability and complexity. The goals of the initial discovery phase include: Establish shared
language around fidelity, as well as clear, concise, reliable and valid measures Clarify the list of
comprehensive core components within the WSWC model Identify acceptable adaptation types
that address local contextual differences and develop examples

Young Adolescent Attitude Towards Military And Self Efficacy
A steady decline in enlistment of youth in defence services poses a major problem leading to acute
shortages of human resource requirements in the defence sector. Identifying the major predictors of
a youth s intention to join the defence forces will facilitate screening the right type of youth who
possess the required life skills, attitudes and beliefs, potentials, temperament, and other personality
characteristics relevant for discharging the duties and responsibilities of defence services. It was
hypothesized that career intention would be predicted by their social, psychological characteristics
such as Attitude towards Military and Self Efficacy. Data was collected on Attitudes towards
Military, Self Efficacy, Subjective norms and Enlistment Intentions from one hundred and nineteen
Higher Secondary School students in Coimbatore district, TamilNadu. Factor analysis was carried
to find out the core dimensions of attitudes towards Military. Regression analysis revealed that the
young adolescent attitude towards military and self efficacy significantly predicted their strong
intention to enlist in the defence services. The results showed that the following four core attitude
dimensions such as Self and Physical Development , Evaluation of Working Condition and benefits
, Perceived risk , and Team work and Patriotism significantly predicted the intentions to enlist in the
defence services. Also, subjective norms and self efficacy significantly contributes to the

The Red Gaze Essay
Portraits are drawn for a reason by the artist, whether it is to send a hidden message or to hold a
memory intact. In the painting The Red Gaze by Arnold Schoenburg (1910), there seems to be a
painting of a face right on the center of the portrait with redness surrounding the eyes. The
Schoenburg clearly drew this paintingto depict his feelings toward a time in his life where he was
most troubled and was stuck between a difficult decision. Moreover, this painting depicts tone, color
, and setting, in which all the elements describe change as a painful process and how it often
makes the person feel lost in the sense of not knowing whether to accept change. The idea of tone
is depicted within the portrait through symbolism of the gaping mouth in awe. Additionally, when
a person is in shock, they tend to drop their mouth s in astonishment, whether the person is in a
happy or sad mood. However, in this scenario the viewer can clearly depict that the usage of the
color red around the eyes and the mouth gaping open, is that this face is clearly dealing with a
struggle. When a struggle is presented, the situation can be confusing at times because usually a
struggle means that there is a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Setting is an important depiction in this painting because of the position of the face. Additionally,
the face rests in the middle of the painting, and the discussion of the redness around the eyes and
the mouth gaping open has already been addressed restating that the face is directly in the center
of the painting. This can be interpreted as a visual symbol that perhaps the face is stuck in the
middle of a decision and does not know which path to take. Once again, integrating the idea of the
old classical music and the unwelcoming presence of the new contemporary music. This face is
clearly stuck in the middle of the decision and is longing in pain to understand why this change

Advanced Topics in Patent Law
The Patent Reform Act
INTRODUCTION
The USPTO has been unable to keep up with its workload, resulting in major delays. There have
also been questions about patent quality and increased litigation. The last time the patent system
was updated was more than 50 years ago. Since then, there have been major improvements in
science and technology. Recent Supreme Court decisions have made it clear that it has been easy
for questionable patents to be obtained and difficult to challenge them. However, it is not up to the
courts to change the law, this is a task for Congress. As Senator Leahy has stated, [if] we are to

innovation and production, we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is because small patent holders are obtaining patents for products that they do not sell or
manufacture, wait for a large company to infringe, and then demand a high royalty to continue to
make the patented product. These small patent holders are disparagingly called patent trolls. The
Coalition for Patent Fairness agreed with Supreme Court Justice Kennedy in his concurring
opinion in eBay Inc v. MercExchange, L.L.C., 126 S. Ct. 1837 (2006) which noted that, An
industry has developed in which firms use patents not as a basis for producing and selling goods
but, instead, primarily for obtaining licensing fees. Employees at large firms are now spending a
great deal of time in litigation rather than on innovation.
Some of the companies that are members of the Coalition for Patent Fairness include: Apple,
Comcast, Dell, eBay, Hewlett Packard, Intel, Microsoft, Palm, Inc., and Time Warner. A number of
other institutions and experts have also joined the coalition including the Federal Trade
Commission and the National Academy of Sciences.

Depersonalization Of Homelessness In Canada
Title
Issue:
The issue I will be focusing upon in this project will be the issue of homelessness and the
depersonalization of this population. There are approximately 235,000 people, in Canada a year,
who identify as homeless or acknowledged their position in life as homeless. 35,000 people, in
Canada, are homeless on any given night. This statistic is not just of white, men, (which seem to
be the overrepresented image in media) but rather is made up of people from every ethnicity, age
group, gender, background, and sexual orientation. With upwards of 6 7% of the population of
Canada having to live in homelessness a year, you would think that their issues would be further

No this project will not be catering to the disenfranchised invisible population of Canada, but
rather the metaphorical invisibility of homelessness. Many of these people are largely ignored
and are treated like subhuman s because of their state of life and end up feeling like they are
invisible in the eyes of the community around them. This project will be an event taking place
across the span of a month and will be stationed at any shelters that would be willing to allow
space and time for this project. This project will be taking place in shelters across Windsor,
Ontario and such will bring more awareness to these locations. Not only will this open the public
s eyes to the problem, but would also give them an easy means to help by donating their time and
money to a very worthy cause. This would allow for easy fundraising for our lovely hosts at the
various shelters. In this project we would also like to encourage people with any skills they can
provide to bring them as an asset. For example, if you are a skilled guitar player, maybe you
could play some music for the people attending the project/event or teach a group how to play. Or
you are an avid board gamer, you could bring in some games and play them with groups and set up
little community matches. These games and interactions would be between the attendees and the
homeless people looking for interaction. This would encourage further conversation and would
allow for safe interaction and strong community building. Finally this project would contact
members of the financial sector and set up community classes for finance and life skills. This
would allow for advancement and structure for these groups, while also allowing them to alleviate
stress, provide support, and social

The Impactages And Disadvantages Of E-Books
A new generation of book which has arrived in this modern era is called electronic book or e
books. An electronic book is a printed book published in digital form that can be viewed by
means of computers, specific gadgets called e reader, and electronic devices such as tablets and
smart phones. We can download e books through the internet for free so it is easy for people to
access e books. E books usually take the form of PDF (Portable Document Format) because PDF
is like a printed document only that it is in an electronic file. In this way, people can read on
screens easily or print it out if they want. Educationalways relates to books, so e books will have a
big impact on education. The rising of this technology gives a new opportunity... Show more

E books have some problems since they are electronic data, to open it we must have electronic
devices that are able to open e books and it requires a lot of money. Because of that, many
students cannot open e books because they do not have electronic devices to open e books, only
those students who are able to buy it can. Electronic devices need power sources too, so if they
run out of power we cannot open the e books, while text books do not need power sources so we
can open it without worrying about power sources. In other words, unlimited power sources. E
books are also bad for eyes, because we read the e books on a screen; we know it is not good to
look at the screen too long; it will make our eyes tired and damage the eyes, so students should
not read e books for hours. Printed books do not always available in electronic format; then
students cannot just have e books. Printed books are still needed for students. E books have
weird price; a lot of e books price is exactly the same as the printed books. This does not make
sense; publishers do not print it, it costs almost nothing to transport it to schools or stores, and it
can be sent immediately after it is published even when we are far away from the publishers, they

and it will describe how one is identified. In the essay, three risks from within the home will be

Finally, it will suggest useful means of crime prevention before concluding that suitable methods of

Gately et al. (2014) state that many offenders would not attempt to carry out a burglary on a house
which looked reasonably secure . This suggests that security cameras may be seen as a deterrence
to criminals.
It is also notable that victims of burglary often experience repeat victimisation. This is when the
same location, business, vehicle or household suffers more than one crime event over a specified
time period. The offence may be the same or a contrasting type (McLaughlin Muncie 2013, p.377).
One reason for this is because offenders know that victims will often replace what has been taken
by an insurance claim.
Strain theory could provide an explanation as to why an individual may carry out a burglary. The
theory developed by Robert Merton in 1968 presents that humans are relatively good. However,
certain situations drive an individual into doing bad things. Merton, (1968) argues that people who
cannot achieve socially approved goals through legitimate means will do so illegitimately because
of the strain that they feel. Merton, (1968) uses the American Dream to illustrate this. The
American Dream emphasises money, as well as success and individuals, are expected to achieve
this through education and hard work. Although, poverty and discrimination are factors which

Dr Strangelove Themes
The Cold War was a period from 1947 to 1991 that adhered erratic tension and constant threat of
nuclear conflict between the two remaining superpowers that emerged from WWII, the U.S. and
the Soviet Union. The 1964 film Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love
the Bomb, directed by Stanley Kubrick, depicts the overlying themes of the Cold Warin a comedic
fashion. This film s full embodiment of the Cold War is seen through its representation of the time
period, and the sheer competitiveness between the United States and Russia. Additionally, due to
many of Kubrick s movie decisions, the film has helped society acknowledge and understand the

General alone goes rogue and sends the missiles toward Russia. This puts the U.S. President in an
immensely tight scenario.
The film delves into some of the difficult options leaders have to choose from in cases involving
nuclear weapons. Nuclear conflicts are extraordinarily complex, with many potential
unpredictable outcomes. After General Ripper directs his plane to bomb the enemy, he
describes his thought process to one of his officers, ...when [the president s advisors] realize
there is no possibility in recalling the wing there will be only one course of action: open, total
commitment . Here, a total commitment consists of the U.S. supporting General Ripper s plan by
utilizing their full arsenal of nuclear weapons to attack Russia. General Buck Turgidson, one of
the President s top advisors, echoes this exact idea in the war room and proposes to the U.S.
President a full commitment. This was a possible solution that could have neutralized all of Russia
in one wave of nuclear missiles; however, this strategy is frowned upon and dismissed by the
President as it would reflect poorly on the U.S. diplomatic reputation in the long run.
An aspect of the Cold War that Kubrick focuses on is the blatant lack of trust between the
conflicting nations. In a scene where a Russian Ambassador is being brought into the war room by
the U.S. President to help determine a mutual solution,

The Final Game Before The Championship

English 1/2 (3)
Short Story Rough Draft
The final game before the championship. We had been training for a month now and the gruesome
work had finally paid off. We were more than ready to march on the field and take the
championship. We won our league division and if we won the next game we play then we were
headed to the national championship. Our team had never won the championship and we really
wanted to win it. In the locker room before the game our coach emphatically said, You boys play
like it is the last game of your career. Nothing should stop you and when you touch the field I
want you to feel like winners. You see that trophy there, that is our trophy and when we go out on
the field we hold our heads high and we fight to win. We are winners and nothing in this world can
stand between us from the trophy. We were jumping up and down trying to get our blood flowing
and when the referees called us on the field.
Beep. The whistle blows. Our coach pumped us up with a great motivational speech to make us
play the hardest we could. We start shaky, however due to a couple of great saves by our
goalkeeper we were still in the game. At half time it was tied. We stuffed ourselves with oranges
before we ran on the field for the second half. Our team started off very well due to a great speech
by our coach and we gained a monstrous two zero lead. The win looked inevitable, however, our
team got way too confident and we let in two goals and before we knew it

With Congressional approval rating at 17%, politics in the U.S appears rotten. Which is what the
freackanomics episode I listened to, 10 ways to make politics less rotten was about. But how may
know how the U.S electioncycle actually works? The process can be quite complicated and
confusing at times. So it is understandable why many may not know how it works.
Step 1: Requirements
To run for President of The United States you must first meet the requirements set for in Article
Two of the US Constitution. This Article states that to serve as President you must be a natural
born citizen of the US and be at least 35 years old. You must also be a resident of the United States
for over 14 years. This candidate doesn t have to meet these requirements prior to running but must
meet them by Inauguration Day. What is not mentioned in the requirements, is the amount of funds
it takes to run for President. It can cost up to hundreds of millions of dollars to fully fund a
Presidential campaign run. This reason alone is what limits so many third party candidates for
President. Only billionaires such as Ross Perot can have some success running this way.
Step 2: Primaries

Slow economic growth combined with a still high population growth has kept the Philippines per
capita income lagging behind those of its regional neighbors. The urgency to recover lost ground is,
therefore, clear. Although the economy has improved, the growth forecast for the immediate future
is less reassuring. The challenge is how to stay on course and sustain the momentum in the face of
what appears to be a prolonged slowdown in the world economy and the precarious state of public
finances. To meet this challenge, the Philippine Government has formulated a macroeconomic
program for stability and growth with equity. At the core of this program is a poverty reduction
agenda anchored on redistributing economic opportunities, protecting the vulnerable, and
enhancing the capabilities of the poor to participate in decision making. The nature, composition
and causes of poverty in the Philippines as well as the responses required to eliminate poverty have
been discussed amongst representatives of Government, civil society, the private sector, and the
international donor community at several forums. The most important among these forums are the
five island wide multi sectoral consultation workshops to discuss the draft NAAA in 2000, the
Employment Summit in Manila in March 2001, and the various consultative meetings and
workshops for the

Aboriginal People Report
I live and work in Western Sydney suburb called Warwick Farm. Warwick Farm on the other hand
is a part of Liverpool Council. So, in order to write this report, I contacted Liverpool Council as
well as Kari Aboriginal Resources Incorporated (Aboriginal community service) and Western
Sydney University Badanami Centre for Indigenous Education to receive firsthand and outright
information. The above listed institutions were very helpful, especially the individuals like Mr
Tyson who coordinates Western Sydney University Badanami Centre for Indigenous Education and
Ms Martin from Kari Aboriginal Resources Incorporated. From my research I have learned that
Darug, Gandangara and Tharawal Aboriginal people are the original inhabitants of the Liverpool...

We (educators) need to put social clichГ©s and stereotypes aside and provide fair, non
discriminative and welcoming environment for all children within the service (and avoiding any
tokenistic approaches). As I have discussed earlier (in the Module 3 Part 1 of this Assessment),
respect for diversity and cultural competency are key aspects of the National Quality Standards
(NQS) and the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). Since supporting children to follow their
cultural traditions and to participate in cultural activities enhances their wellbeing and can
contribute to their resilience, social confidence and protection from prolonged isolation, emotional
trauma or exclusion (EYLF: Outcome 1 Children have a strong sense of identity Outcome 2
Children are connected with and contribute to their world). Australian government today provides
number of policies, projects and programs to celebrate diversity and inclusion for Indigenous
Australian (and other communities) (like Aboriginal Children Support and Parent Awareness
ASSPA Program, National Indigenous English Literacy and Numeracy Strategy and Indigenous
Education Ambassadors Program) (Price, 2015). However, apart from

Ordovician Sea Environment
Some 480 million years ago, way before the dinosaurs, the Ordovician period, was the period
when plants were finally able to inhabit land. It lasted for 42 million years. Sea levels were very
high during this time, which allowed the already present sea creatures to grow to even larger
proportions.
During the Ordovician Age, the Earth had milder climates than before. The air in the atmosphere
was warm and wet. Sea levels kept rising but leveled off in the middle of the period. At the
beginning of this time, it was very hot, marine waters estimated around 113 degrees fahrenheit.
Over time, the ocean became cooler and the temperature became comparable to today s equatorial
waters.
North America and northern Europe were independent continents, but Northern Europe started
moving toward North America. Africa, South America, Australia, India,... Show more content on

You could say that almost everything was larger. Cameroceras is one of the largest orthocone
cephalopods ever to exist. It was encased in a hard conical shell for defense. It had squid like
limbs for grasping prey, a large keratinous beak that could crush the armor of even the hard
eurypterids, large complex eyes, and was powered by a jet propulsion system that sucked in
water from the sides and shot it out of a hyponome in the middle. It ate eurypterids like
Megalograptus. Megalograptus is a large eurypterid, or sea scorpion. It had 6 pairs of
appendages each specialized for a unique purpose. It had legs for walking, paddles for
swimming, a tail for propulsion with a spike for fighting and trapping prey, front appendages
lined with spikes for trapping the prey, and finally chelicerae to dismember the prey for eating. It
had compound eyes like a fly, providing it with good vision. The tail was composed of three
pincers that could move in and grasp something very tightly. It made a diet out of trilobites,
armored arthropods with their bodies divided in

Wordsworth and Vaughan Essay
Wordsworth and Vaughan When reading T.S. Eliot s critical comment, It is to be observed that the
language of these poets is as a rule simple and pure, one might assume that he was referring to the
Romantics (Eliot 2328). Specifically, we could apply this statement to poets the ilk of Wordsworth,
who eschewed poetic affectations and tricked out language for sentiments that originated and
flowed naturally (Wordsworth 270). Yet Eliot hadn t focused his critical eye there, this time. Rather,
he squinted a century back to a lesser referenced literary group, the Metaphysical poets (Eliot 2328).
That the Metaphysical poets and the Romantics share a characteristically simple/natural diction is
important. While they are undoubtedly... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Where Wordsworth focused too on love and nature at first, he then took on more spiritual
subjects. Further, if we assume that Wordsworth s imitation of The Retreat was intentional, then
Vaughan may have even been a poetic model (in some sense) for Wordsworth later in life. True,
Wordsworth is not generally considered a religious poet; he would never have originally
considered Vaughan a model because of the latter s extreme religiosity. Yet if these two poems don
t echo in godly gestures per se, they do in a more spiritual sense and perhaps Wordsworth, as a man
confronted with his own mortality, found Vaughan s treatise on the spirit s immortality a
sympathetic sentiment. Thus by comparing the two, we also might better understand Wordsworth s
poetic progression. Both critical precedence and a close line by line analysis suggest that the
similarity between The Retreat and the Ode is indeed no coincidence. Let anyone who is well
acquainted with Wordsworth s grand ode that on the Intimations of Immortality turn his mind to a
comparison between that and [ The Retreat ]: he will find the resemblance remarkable, comments
19th century author George MacDonald ( A Mount ). Specifically, they resemble in that both poets
claim that the earth is not a soul s first home. Rather, a soul is a visitor on leave from another
spiritual realm. Vaughan remembers that before I understood this place, / appointed for my second

Albert Camus Death
The thematics of death are almost infinite. And with many possibilities there is no surprise that
death can play an important role into the theme of a book. One case of this is shown in Albert
Camus s The Stranger where Meursault, the narrator of the book, dies. When approaching his
execution he understands that no one person has significant worth. That shows a philosophical
view/theme that no other book has shown as clearly before it.
Throughout the book you can sense the buildup to Camus central message. This came to a point
when Meursault is killed. He seemed indifferent to any situation he was in, even after learning his
neighbor was beating his mistress. He still agreed to be friends because he doesn t really care for
the woman, but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Camus argues that there is only one thing certain in life and that is death. Meursault doesn t fully
understand this until right before he is about to be guillotined. He realizes that he has no meaning
and is not special. He will be born then die just like everyone else.
As you uncover his peculiarities, you may be confused on why the writer would make him this
way but it is all cleared up when he is killed. Meursault is being executed for a crime he did for
no reason, however; he seems unworried by his situation even after a sad conversation with
Marie in the prison cell. Before he is killed he gives a very important quote that shows the
philosophy the books wants to portray, for everything to be consummated, for me to feel less
alone, I had only to wish that there be a large crowd of spectators the day of my execution and
that they greet me with cries of hate . This quote shows above all else that humans are ultimately
responsible for their acts whether good or bad.
Death plays many roles in books it is often used to develop major themes. This is especially the
case in Albert Camus s book, The Stranger . Meursault s death is a vital aspect to show the book s
theme. Without the message his death brings the story would not be the

Analysis Of Volkswagens Leadership Differs From Other...
External Analysis
A.Macro Environment
1.Cultural Trends
Volkswagens leadership differs from other German car makers in that their supervisory board
which governs over the executive board also includes local politicians (maybe a key factor in
their recent scandal). The other major auto makers in Germany all have supervisory boards as
well but they are in place primarily to govern the executives and look out for the interests of the
shareholders. This being said the two politicians are looking out for the best interest of the local
workers and executives, so between them and the eight local people elected to the supervisory
board it gives them an overwhelming majority in votes that may have a negative impact on the
production of vehicles there.
Their work culture is a demanding pace with expectations set high for management and workers
alike. Although they have a policy in place to allow workers to voice their concerns about the cars
or subsystems that is generally not the case as far as the executive level goes with many directors
and managers fearing for their jobs if anything subpar is brought up.(1)
2.Demographic Trends
Over the past fifteen years Volkswagenhas set about to redefine their target audience in car buyers
to the more environmentally conscious consumer. This came about during a time when they had
acquired the Audi, Porsche, and Bentley lines of cars. Having those available as an income stream
allowed VW execs to gamble with the environmental movement going

  • 2. Teenagers Communication With Their Partners On Issues Of... CHAPTER 2. LITERATURE REVIEW Teenagers communication with their partners on issues of sex and their use of condoms is greatly influenced by the discussions teenagers have with their parents on issues related to sex. However in this discussion, little is known about the process of parent teenager communication with regards to the topic under discussion. Understanding what parents discuss with their children and how they discuss it may lead to a greater understanding of teenagers sexual behaviours. A literature review of researches done in the previous studies has been done, in order to help to identify the gaps in literature so that further researches in this area can be done. Theorectical Framework The approach that is going to be used in this study,is that of the social cognitive theory (SCT) developed by Bandura (1997). According to this theory, human behaviour is a result of the interaction of personal factors, the environment and the behaviour itself (Bandura, 1997). The social cognitive theory clearly explains how people acquire and maintain certain behavioural patterns whilst at the same time, providing the basis for intervention strategies (Bandura, 1997). From the various behavioural factors that influence behaviour, Bandura (1986) identified self efficacy and outcome expectations as the most salient factors. Self efficacy refers to the ability and confidence in performing a particular behaviour or it can be looked as an individual s judgment of his or her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For example, it states in the text that It is about being connected to who you are and how you feel, and knowing your own limits and abilities. This means that people will know their limits in their lives and how they feel in their lives. Also, it says logical means that they are more advanced at solving complex problems and that they are able to form a more advanced understanding of relationships. • 5. An Analysis Of Hitchcock s The Caged Birds Versus The... Psychologists have suggested the idea that correlation does not imply causation. In The Birds, viewers find themselves unable to identify the purpose or the cause for the birds attacks. Hitchcock does not want us to know the answers either, since Hitchcock marvels at his ability to make viewers question his films and struggle at truly enjoying without fully understanding them. Although this essay cannot find a cause for the attacks in the town or to the characters that seem to be innocent like the children and the old man in the farm, it should shed some light on the correlation between the timing of the attacks near the Brenner family and Melanie and their internal struggle. The symbolism of the caged birds versus the free birds, the Jocasta complex Lydia struggles with, and the imagery of the light versus darkness when the birds attackrepresent the journey Mitch and Melanie face in trying to be together. First we must make the distinction between caged and free birds. The caged birds signify a well mannered, tamed, and socially acceptable human being while the free birds, or rather the birds that attack, have the liberty to act in opposition to the caged ones. In the beginning scene, after Melanie s attempt to impress Mitch, Mitch salvages the bird she mistakenly let escape and as he puts it back in its cage says, Back in your gilded cage Melanie Daniels . This metaphorical cage Melanie resides in is one made up of riches where she is spoiled and superficial, but she ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They have risen above their own physical characteristics and demolished evolutional boundaries. Like a bird soars and a fish swims, humans have surpassed their somatic disadvantages and created synthetic versions of these methods of travel. Humans have been so successful in conquering the mobility and patterns of other animal species that it has led to the societal succession of humans from the animal kingdom. Although evolutionally, Homo sapiens share common ancestors with other animals, it is a common belief that humans are in a class of their own, separated from their primitive counterparts. Jason Wyckoff writes in Toward Justice for Animals , that Until fairly recently, philosophers and animal advocates have generally treated the question of what we owe to non human animals as an ethical question, with a primary focus on the treatment of particular animals, rather than as a social or political question, with a focus on the use, exploitation, commodification, or systematic extermination of animals. (Wyckoff 539). In other words, humans have only looked into the morality of animal cruelty on a small scale. Is it right or wrong? If talking about a person killing an animal for no reason, the answer would be yes. But what about the killing of an animal for a materialistic reason, such as the skinning of animals for coats, shoes, or fashion accessories? Because this is done on such a large scale, and has been for a long time, the line between right and wrong has been blurred. Today s society condemns the illegal hunting of a lion, but keeps quiet on the legal killing of other animals to fulfill their avaricious needs. This is when the morality of the subject becomes ... • 8. Mirrors by Sylvia Plath 13th March, 2014 In the poem Mirrors , by Sylvia Plath the speaker accentuates the importance of looks as an aging woman brawls with her inner and outward appearance. Employing an instance of self refection, the speaker shifts to a lake and describes the discrepancies between inevitable old age and zealous youth. By means of sight and personification, shifts and metaphors, the orator initiates the change in appearance which relies on an individual s decision to embrace and reject it. The author applies sight and personification to accentuate the mirror s roles. The declaimer of the poem says I am silver and exact [and] whatever I see I swallow (1, 20). According to Tomei, SylviaPlath is subject to depression just like her father (1213). Possibly hereditary, she detaches herself from everyone due to her immense discomfort and displeasure. Moreover, she imprints her feelings and memories in her poems as witnessed in the poem Mirrors . Plath initiates her child hood in the narrative when she meditates on the opposite wall in her room (6). Although a mirror is personified in the poem, it signifies Plath s nature as an individual. As lonely as widow, she reposes against the wall, gazes at the divider and muses about her life. This can be due to the fact that Plath felt it was her fault her father died (Freedman 159). Thus, she translates her experiences into a poem and transmutes it literary denotation to figurative language. To conclude, everything happens for a reason and life teaches great lessons. As detected from the shift in the poem, Plath utilizes symbols in nature to delineate her view on the world. Situated in the criticism of Giles, Plath creates images of great sound and beauty... as the sea is second only to the moon as one of her favorite symbols (2597). As witnessed in the sonnet, the candles and the moon are viewed as liars; however, they are distinguished as her favorite symbols. Since society and individuals represent these symbols, Plath conveys the deceitful nature of people in the word. Subsequently, she turns to them ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The two systems not only demonstrate the early concept of writing but show contrasting elements of civilization in globalism vs nationalism, internal vs external, connection vs isolation. The two systems certainly diverged from one another, but to understand this, the origins of the two writingsystems must be examined. Around the dawn of civilization, in the last half of the third millennium, abstract symbols (meaning letters, numbers, and other things that represent abstract thought) started to form from proto writing that had been present for millennia in the Nile valley before the first abstract... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But it is undeniable that hieroglyphics had more influence on history than cuneiform did, in spite of the fact that cuneiform was more advanced for its time. This is the first way that these systems contrast; sophistication. Cuneiform was a more advanced system than hieroglyphics simply because cuneiform was more abstract and it was far quicker to write Sumerian with it. Hieroglyphics was, for much of its existence, a logographic system, making it in some ways closer to drawing than to abstract writing such as cuneiform. However, in the Neolithic times, sophistication had an inverse relationship with influence, that is to say, that less advanced writing systems had more influence and clout with other cultures. This may have been because it is hard to teach an illiterate culture who may adopt a writing system, a complex, writing scheme, or a system that doesn t work in their language. Or, it may because the more advanced a writing system is, the fewer people in your culture understand how to use it. This can be seen with cuneiform and hieroglyphics in a very stark way. Not many cultures used cuneiform, and when they did it worked poorly with the language it was being used in, while hieroglyphs informed many other writing systems, such as Hebrew, Greek, and Phoenician; it cannot be understated the ... By the mid 1950 s the smaller quaint motor lodges of the 30 s and 40 s no longer could compete with rising motel corporations like Howard Johnson or Best Western. These corporations designed their motels to be comfortable and practical for those staying in them. They also built them with a standard design. • 23. Cultural Identity Vs American Culture What is a person s cultural identity based off of? According to Google, Cultural identity is often defined as the identity of a group, culture or an individual, influenced by one s belonging to a group or culture. So what is my cultural identity? I believe no one person has one singular cultural identity. I can identify myself as a daughter, a sister, a Swede, an American, a water polo player, a swimmer, a Mormon, a high school student, or even a world traveler. In this paper the one I will identify as an American. As a world traveler there are many cultures I have seen very different from the American culture. Things that make other cultures different from the way Americans do things are based off of their customs, their routines, and their traditions. For example, in Greece it is customary for the unfamous and poor to pay for the rich and famous s weddings and funerals. That is different from the American culture because here in America it customary that families and sometimes even friends plan and pay for their own family member s wedding or funeral. Another example of a difference between American culture and other cultures is the way we celebrate holidays. For example, my European family celebrates their countries independence day with solemn parades and reserved attitudes, while as Americans we celebrate our independence... Then, which leads into our more long term recommendation, the strong firms in the industry tend to continue rising at a more steady and pro cyclical rate. Zynga has a particularly strong business model that may be unseen by most investors. These reasons are that they, unlike many app based startups, do not solely rely on advertising and banner ad revenue. While this makes up a substantial revenue stream, they derive the majority of their profits from the sale of digital assets which incur little to no variable costs. Also, Zynga s strength is, in part, tied to the strength of Facebook. Though many people disagree with the immensity of Facebook s valuation, few would disagree with the fact that it is one of the strongest, fastest growing companies. Farmville, one of Zynga s staple products, is and has been tied to facebook since its inception. The relationship has proven mutually beneficial for both parties and so Zynga would probably have the chance to feature another game on Facebook. If this happens around the time that Facebook goes public, (if it ever does), then Zynga s stock should see rapid and significant growth. A major drop off in a recent valuation has come at the realization that many of the games Zynga has are, faddy . All physical things can be touched have, weight and are real and are not produced by the mind. Peter is not normal, he is special and needs explaining. In the story it clearly states that Peter is not to be touched.Obviously, if you are real you can be touched, and Peter can t be touched, so the simple conclusion is that he is not physical. Purpose The primary purpose for this document is to establish a shared foundational understanding of fidelity research as it pertains to the Whole School Whole Child (WSWC) model and create shared language for related concepts. Overview City Year has established the importance of fidelity, or program integrity, by including it in the FY12 Highest Priority Goals (HPG #1d). Fidelity has many nuances for a program being implemented in so many locations by so many providers with variable local conditions. Due to this complexity, we will reframe it to focus on it as uniformity of purpose and effort. Rather than passively attempting to conform to the model and not understanding it in within the local context, every individual who supports design and implementation must deepen their knowledge of what the value drivers, or core components, are within the model so that they can make reasonable decisions when a local challenge or suboptimal condition emerges. The following briefing outlines key concepts, assets and milestones in building a comprehensive approach to increasing quality of implementation through decreasing unnecessary variability and complexity. The goals of the initial discovery phase include: Establish shared language around fidelity, as well as clear, concise, reliable and valid measures Clarify the list of comprehensive core components within the WSWC model Identify acceptable adaptation types that address local contextual differences and develop examples ... Identifying the major predictors of a youth s intention to join the defence forces will facilitate screening the right type of youth who possess the required life skills, attitudes and beliefs, potentials, temperament, and other personality characteristics relevant for discharging the duties and responsibilities of defence services. It was hypothesized that career intention would be predicted by their social, psychological characteristics such as Attitude towards Military and Self Efficacy. Data was collected on Attitudes towards Military, Self Efficacy, Subjective norms and Enlistment Intentions from one hundred and nineteen Higher Secondary School students in Coimbatore district, TamilNadu. Factor analysis was carried to find out the core dimensions of attitudes towards Military. Regression analysis revealed that the young adolescent attitude towards military and self efficacy significantly predicted their strong intention to enlist in the defence services. In the painting The Red Gaze by Arnold Schoenburg (1910), there seems to be a painting of a face right on the center of the portrait with redness surrounding the eyes. The Schoenburg clearly drew this paintingto depict his feelings toward a time in his life where he was most troubled and was stuck between a difficult decision. Moreover, this painting depicts tone, color , and setting, in which all the elements describe change as a painful process and how it often makes the person feel lost in the sense of not knowing whether to accept change. The idea of tone is depicted within the portrait through symbolism of the gaping mouth in awe. Additionally, when a person is in shock, they tend to drop their mouth s in astonishment, whether the person is in a happy or sad mood. However, in this scenario the viewer can clearly depict that the usage of the color red around the eyes and the mouth gaping open, is that this face is clearly dealing with a struggle. Recent Supreme Court decisions have made it clear that it has been easy for questionable patents to be obtained and difficult to challenge them. This project will be an event taking place across the span of a month and will be stationed at any shelters that would be willing to allow space and time for this project. This project will be taking place in shelters across Windsor, Ontario and such will bring more awareness to these locations. Not only will this open the public s eyes to the problem, but would also give them an easy means to help by donating their time and money to a very worthy cause. Or you are an avid board gamer, you could bring in some games and play them with groups and set up little community matches. These games and interactions would be between the attendees and the homeless people looking for interaction. This would encourage further conversation and would allow for safe interaction and strong community building. This is when the same location, business, vehicle or household suffers more than one crime event over a specified time period. The offence may be the same or a contrasting type (McLaughlin Muncie 2013, p.377). One reason for this is because offenders know that victims will often replace what has been taken by an insurance claim. Strain theory could provide an explanation as to why an individual may carry out a burglary. The theory developed by Robert Merton in 1968 presents that humans are relatively good. However, certain situations drive an individual into doing bad things. Australian government today provides number of policies, projects and programs to celebrate diversity and inclusion for Indigenous Australian (and other communities) (like Aboriginal Children Support and Parent Awareness ASSPA Program, National Indigenous English Literacy and Numeracy Strategy and Indigenous Education Ambassadors Program) (Price, 2015). However, apart from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Ordovician Sea Environment Some 480 million years ago, way before the dinosaurs, the Ordovician period, was the period when plants were finally able to inhabit land. It lasted for 42 million years. Sea levels were very high during this time, which allowed the already present sea creatures to grow to even larger proportions. During the Ordovician Age, the Earth had milder climates than before. The air in the atmosphere was warm and wet. Sea levels kept rising but leveled off in the middle of the period. At the beginning of this time, it was very hot, marine waters estimated around 113 degrees fahrenheit. Over time, the ocean became cooler and the temperature became comparable to today s equatorial waters. North America and northern Europe were independent continents, but Northern Europe started moving toward North America. Africa, South America, Australia, India,... It was encased in a hard conical shell for defense. It had squid like limbs for grasping prey, a large keratinous beak that could crush the armor of even the hard eurypterids, large complex eyes, and was powered by a jet propulsion system that sucked in water from the sides and shot it out of a hyponome in the middle. It ate eurypterids like Megalograptus. Megalograptus is a large eurypterid, or sea scorpion. It had 6 pairs of appendages each specialized for a unique purpose. It had legs for walking, paddles for swimming, a tail for propulsion with a spike for fighting and trapping prey, front appendages lined with spikes for trapping the prey, and finally chelicerae to dismember the prey for eating. It had compound eyes like a fly, providing it with good vision. The tail was composed of three pincers that could move in and grasp something very tightly. It made a diet out of trilobites, armored arthropods with their bodies divided in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Wordsworth and Vaughan Essay Wordsworth and Vaughan When reading T.S. Eliot s critical comment, It is to be observed that the language of these poets is as a rule simple and pure, one might assume that he was referring to the Romantics (Eliot 2328). Specifically, we could apply this statement to poets the ilk of Wordsworth, who eschewed poetic affectations and tricked out language for sentiments that originated and flowed naturally (Wordsworth 270). Yet Eliot hadn t focused his critical eye there, this time. Rather, he squinted a century back to a lesser referenced literary group, the Metaphysical poets (Eliot 2328). That the Metaphysical poets and the Romantics share a characteristically simple/natural diction is important. While they are undoubtedly... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Where Wordsworth focused too on love and nature at first, he then took on more spiritual subjects. Further, if we assume that Wordsworth s imitation of The Retreat was intentional, then Vaughan may have even been a poetic model (in some sense) for Wordsworth later in life. True, Wordsworth is not generally considered a religious poet; he would never have originally considered Vaughan a model because of the latter s extreme religiosity. Yet if these two poems don t echo in godly gestures per se, they do in a more spiritual sense and perhaps Wordsworth, as a man confronted with his own mortality, found Vaughan s treatise on the spirit s immortality a sympathetic sentiment. Thus by comparing the two, we also might better understand Wordsworth s poetic progression. Both critical precedence and a close line by line analysis suggest that the similarity between The Retreat and the Ode is indeed no coincidence. Let anyone who is well acquainted with Wordsworth s grand ode that on the Intimations of Immortality turn his mind to a comparison between that and [ The Retreat ]: he will find the resemblance remarkable, comments 19th century author George MacDonald ( A Mount ). Specifically, they resemble in that both poets claim that the earth is not a soul s first home. Rather, a soul is a visitor on leave from another spiritual realm. Vaughan remembers that before I understood this place, / appointed for my second ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Albert Camus Death The thematics of death are almost infinite. And with many possibilities there is no surprise that death can play an important role into the theme of a book. One case of this is shown in Albert Camus s The Stranger where Meursault, the narrator of the book, dies. When approaching his execution he understands that no one person has significant worth. That shows a philosophical view/theme that no other book has shown as clearly before it. Throughout the book you can sense the buildup to Camus central message. This came to a point when Meursault is killed. He seemed indifferent to any situation he was in, even after learning his neighbor was beating his mistress. He still agreed to be friends because he doesn t really care for the woman, but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Camus argues that there is only one thing certain in life and that is death. Meursault doesn t fully understand this until right before he is about to be guillotined. He realizes that he has no meaning and is not special. He will be born then die just like everyone else. As you uncover his peculiarities, you may be confused on why the writer would make him this way but it is all cleared up when he is killed. Meursault is being executed for a crime he did for no reason, however; he seems unworried by his situation even after a sad conversation with Marie in the prison cell. Before he is killed he gives a very important quote that shows the philosophy the books wants to portray, for everything to be consummated, for me to feel less alone, I had only to wish that there be a large crowd of spectators the day of my execution and that they greet me with cries of hate . This quote shows above all else that humans are ultimately responsible for their acts whether good or bad. Death plays many roles in books it is often used to develop major themes. This is especially the case in Albert Camus s book, The Stranger . Meursault s death is a vital aspect to show the book s theme. Without the message his death brings the story would not be the ... • 45. Analysis Of Volkswagens Leadership Differs From Other... External Analysis A.Macro Environment 1.Cultural Trends Volkswagens leadership differs from other German car makers in that their supervisory board which governs over the executive board also includes local politicians (maybe a key factor in their recent scandal). The other major auto makers in Germany all have supervisory boards as well but they are in place primarily to govern the executives and look out for the interests of the shareholders. This being said the two politicians are looking out for the best interest of the local workers and executives, so between them and the eight local people elected to the supervisory board it gives them an overwhelming majority in votes that may have a negative impact on the production of vehicles there. Their work culture is a demanding pace with expectations set high for management and workers alike. Although they have a policy in place to allow workers to voice their concerns about the cars or subsystems that is generally not the case as far as the executive level goes with many directors and managers fearing for their jobs if anything subpar is brought up.(1) 2.Demographic Trends Over the past fifteen years Volkswagenhas set about to redefine their target audience in car buyers to the more environmentally conscious consumer. This came about during a time when they had acquired the Audi, Porsche, and Bentley lines of cars. Having those available as an income stream allowed VW execs to gamble with the environmental movement going ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
