Should Clowns Be Allowed To Wear On Halloween
Clowns costumes shouldn t be allowed to wear on Halloween, especially with all the rumors and
scare tactics that are going on today about them. Clowns are supposed to be someone who
participates in the circus and wears funny makeup and try to make people laugh. The more you
look at their creepy grinning faces, the more it twists into something more evil. In recent years,
films such as Stephen King s It have highlighted those fears, and the killer clowncraze currently
sweeping the UK hasn t helped. (Goldhill, 1) Before the movie It came out people weren t as
spooked out about clowns as they are now. Clowns can come off as happy as they want, yet
regardless it attempts to hide their true feelings.
Kids are scared of clowns because they are creepy, and portray a confusing image. On Halloween
a lot of kids will be out trying to have fun and collect candy, if clown are out there scaring kids
and setting a bad image that will most likely run the kids off. You have to worry about their
parents getting involved to make sure they re kids are not in danger. Clowns can display being
nice and can end up being the bad guy all along. For instance, they have nice clowns, mean ... Show

Goodman Brown Innocence
From Ignorant Innocence to Enlightened Corruption
Nathaniel Hawthorne was born in 1804, in the city of Salem in Massachusetts. His familial
ancestors were amongst the earliest settlers of the Massachusetts Bay Colony. One of Nathaniel s
grandfathers served as a judge in the 1692 Salem witch trials and had condemned twenty five
women to death. Nathaniel Hawthorn incorporates both his fascination and his horror at his family
s involvement in the witch trials and focuses much of his literature on the social history of New
England and the Puritans. In Nathaniel Hawthorne s short story Young Goodman Brown,
Hawthorne expresses his true feelings about the negative beliefs of the puritan religion through a
coming of age story, showing the loss of innocence that every Puritan goes through to reach
maturity. In the story, Hawthorn utilizes duplicity in his naming of the characters. The main
character s name is Young Goodman Brown, and is representative of the archetypal Puritan. In the
beginning of the story, Goodman Brown seems content to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Minister, and Deacon Gookin. Upon arrival at the ritual clearing, he is horrified to see all of the
village s upstanding citizens participating in a ritual of the Devil. In the aftermath of Goodman
Brown s dream, he is no longer able to function in the Puritan society as he sees sins in every

Rational Emotive Behavior Theory ( Psychoanalytic Therapy )
Rational Emotive Behavior Theory
Briefly describe the article you read by Albert Ellis:
How is REBT different from psychoanalytic therapy?
How is REBT different from client centered therapy?
How did you like his writing?
How did the article enhance your understanding of his theory?
This discussion will focus on REBT diverse from psychoanalytic therapy in that REBT utilize
rational rearrangement to alter illogical thoughts that cause psychological problems (Wedding and
Corsini, 2008). REBT treatment approach assumes that the person s thought is the primary source
of their situations/life within the here and now. Therapy is brief, intending to help individuals
unlearn negative perception and unhelpful thoughts/reactions and learn new ways of reacting to the
issues. REBT, The person who is suffering from anxiety, also is issue homework (Frew Spiegler,
2008). He or she write what brings on the anxiety, what he or she was doing when the anxiety

conscious realm to gain greater self knowledge. REBT differentiates itself as a calming
approach, which comprises a broad variation of methods that can utilize with children (Frew
Spiegler, 2008). Therapy is brief, compared to psychoanalysis, where therapy is long term, often
over some years, with several sessions each week. REBT does not do an in depth delving into the

Analysis Of Robert Lewis Bridge Of Influence And Proof
A bridge that is beautiful and appealing to the eye would inspire one to cross it without
hesitation due to the beauty of its structure. The philosophical idea of Robert Lewis Bridge of
Influence and Proof, from this week s assigned reading provided insight of a methodological
approach of ministering evangelistically that deemed appropriate. In all actuality, I was enlighten
in that realistically most people who travel from one city (state) to another have come to a point
where there was a need to cross over a bridge. The purpose of that bridge was to connect two
points together by way of a secure structure that has been considered reliable. The purpose of the

Athlete s foot is a contagious fungal infection that people get on their feet. The scientific name is
tinea pedis. It is usually found between toes, but it can spread. This infection is caused by fungi that
prefer humid environments such as trichophyton mentagrophytes and trichophyton rubrum. People
can get athlete s footby sweating, wearing covered shoes for prolonged periods of time, and by
walking barefoot in wet areas. Symptoms of athlete s foot may include patches of cracked skin that
are itchy and/or sore. Another symptom is flaking white soggy skin. It is possible for the infection
to spread onto the soles of the feets, the sides, and the toenails. When the infection begins to affect

White Heron Literary Analysis
In Sarah Orne Jewett, White Heron , I found it revealing that in the end, Sylvia despite finding the

the nest, Sylvia ... watched the young man with loving admiration and she had never seen anybody
so charming and delightful. Like many love stricken individuals, they would do many things for
their target of affection, so one would assume that Sylvia would gladly and happily tell the hunter

Pros And Cons Of The USA Patriot Act
The USA PATRIOT Act violated many American civil rights and carried out many unnecessary
searches of innocent Americans. It sacrifices civil liberties for government power. The USA
PATRIOT Act, which stands for Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate
Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act, was passed shortly after the attacks of 9
/11. It was signed by President George W Bush because he believed that the act would help America
bring a halt to terrorism. However, in his efforts to track down terrorism, the act also violated
American privacy rights. The act violates citizens civil rights by violating the Fourth Amendment of
the US Constitution. The Fourth Amendment states that government agents or law enforcement
officers may only carry out searches and arrest after obtaining search or arrest warrants from the
courts. The act also violates the Fifth Amendment of the US Constitution. The Fifth Amendment
states that all US citizens have the right to due process of law, meaning that no one can be deprived
of their life, liberty, or property without a fair trial. The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act

Diarrheal Research Paper
Diarrheal is an intestinal disorder in which an individual is induced to frequently release fecal.
This consistent fluid loss leads to dehydration and nutrient loss. If an individual is not able to
replace the loss in due amount of time, this can eventually lead to death. Nevertheless, although it
may seem diarrheal (the constant release of fecal) is the cause of painful effects, it is not. Rather
diarrhea is a mechanism the body uses to get rid of the harmful bacteria(pathogen) inside the body.
The pathogen is typically presented in the water and food one consumes, and is injected in the
body. This infection known as amoebiasis is most prevalent in developing countries, because water
sanitation may not be fully adhered to be taken action for. It is estimated that there are 50,000,000

Lela Vernon s Components Of The Creole Culture In Belize
Culture comes within language, symbols, values and beliefs. These things define what a culture
is like. There are many cultures in the world but only specific ones are within a society. Here in
Belize there are many but the one that will be elaborated is the creole culture. Lela Vernon was a
Belizean who was a Krioland promoted it in everything she did. For instance, she talked, lived and
song using the Kriol culture. She contributed a lot of things to the creole culture here in Belize.
Lela Vernon expresses components of Belizean culture by showing them while singing. For

Who Is To Blame For Romeo And Juliet s Death
Romeo and Juliet Romeo and Juliet is a play written by William Shakespeare in the 14th century.
It is a beautiful tragedy about two star crossed lovers and their journey together despite their
feuding families protests. As a result of said feud, both Romeo and Juliet ended their lives, as a
result of thinking that the other was dead. If we take this kind of situation and put it into the
modern world, someone would be blamed for these tragic deaths. The only question is who.
Their parents are to blame the Montagues and the Capulets. Of course, to craft your opinion on
this topic, you must first understand the fictional background of the Montagues and the Capulets.
Although the play doesn t offer a backstory, readers can easily see how much tension there is
between the two families. They acknowledge it too, but most of the evidence for my conclusion
comes from characters other than the Capulet and Montague head of households. Verona, where
this play takes place, has a prince that notices all the conflict going on between the families. He
says, right after a fight scene from which Tybalt (a Capulet) and Mercutio (a Montague) emerge
dead, Romeo slew him; he slew Mercutio. Who now the price of his dear blood doth owe?
(3.1.175 176.) The prince is pretty much fed up with the fighting between the Montagues and the
Capulets. After this scene, readers of Romeo and Juliet can safely infer that the death of a
Montague and the death of a Capulet will not be the last. There did not

Pros And Cons Of Death Punishment
In terms of the death penalty, certain crimes do deserve this punishment, under specific
circumstances. Heinous crimes, such as the murder of the 1st and 2nd degree and rape, should be
punishable by death. However, this punishment shall only occur so long as the criminal(s) pass
both the M Naghten Rule and the Durham Rule. In the gruesome murders of the Clutters family,
Perry Edward Smith and Richard Eugene Hitchcock were both deemed perfectly sane under both
rules, showing that both men deserved the death penalty. Although there is plenty of proof that
Hitchcock was sane, there is also enough evidence to prove that Smith was mentally unstable.
Due to this evidence, Hitchcock rightfully got what he deserved, while Smith was wrongfully
done. According to Cornell Law School, the M Naghten Rule is when a defendant is claimed to
be innocent when at the time of committing the act, the accused was laboring under such a defect
of reason, from disease of the mind, as not to know the nature and quality of the act he was doing
or, if he did know it, that he did not know what he was doing was wrong ( Insanity Defense). In
Layman s terms, an accused is deemed innocent if he/she does not know right from wrong and/or
does not know what he/she is doing at the time of the crime. In regards to Richard Hitchcock, he
is not protected under this said rule. Proof that Hitchcock knew what he was doing and knew it was
wrong is expressed in C J Lewis article of Hitchcock v. State. His

Gluten Free Diet And Gluten Food
The Gluten free diet, a shitshow
Gluten free, it has become the blazing slogan on the majority of food items, including food items
that never had gluten to begin with, such as water. This push towards ridding our diets of grains
has become extremely mainstream, but is this diet as healthy as it has been made out to be? While
there can be some benefits to the gluten free diet, there is a lot of scientific evidence that suggests
that products containing gluten are a staple of a healthy diet. Even though a gluten free diet may
be medically necessary for some, the gluten free products available on the market are very
expensive. Ultimately, the only people who truly benefit from gluten free diets are those who have
been diagnosed with celiac disease or non celiac gluten sensitivity. The people who do choose to
partake in the gluten free diet who do not have a pre existing medical condition should consult their
doctor before altering their diet.
When I was attending primary school, maladies such as non celiac gluten sensitivity did not
exist. Fast forward to the year 2016, and I can name at least five people who are gluten free. The
popularity of the gluten free diet has grown, with, approximately 30% of the US population
adhering to a gluten free diet (Linda Johanson, 2015). Why is it that so much of the US population
has adopted a gluten free diet? According to the American Journal of Cardiology (AJC), this trend

Votive Statue Of Gudea Essay
The Depiction of Divine Power in Votive Statue of Gudea
Votive Statue of Gudea, is one of a series of votive figures commissioned by the Sumerian ruler
Gudea, circa the year 2090 BCE . It was found in the modern city of Telloh, Iraq, formerly called
Girsu, the capital city of the ancient Sumerian city state of Lagash . The statue is carved from
diorite, a hard, dark colored stone that must have been imported to the city from other parts of the
region . The votive statue is relatively small in size, measuring only two and a half feet in height .
In the sculpture, Gudea stares directly at the viewer with large, pupil less eyes. His neck is nearly
nonexistent, and his broad shoulders and long, well defined arms are disproportionate to the
statue s comparably short torso and legs. In the artwork, Gudea is dressed in a long, smooth robe
covered in cuneiform writing. A top his head, Gudea wears a large stylized fleece hat and he holds
a jug spouting water in two streams firmly in his hands. In Votive Statue of Gudea, the artist
attempts to portray Gudea s divine right to rule though his use of material, opulent dress, and
idealized features. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Descriptive Essay On Smoking
Stop Smoking Sarah I have a cousin named Sarah who is twenty eight years old. Sarah has her

feels like she cannot stop smokingcigarettes. In spite of all her qualities, she cannot quit smoking.
Sarah says she is under a lot of stress right now and smoking relaxes her. She also explained she
doesn t know where to start and all the methods she has already tried have not worked for her.
Finally, Sarah does not feel like she has the strength to quit smoking. I love my cousin dearly

right now and smoking relaxes her. I understand that she is stressed with completing her final
classes, but there are other ways. Cigarettes only relax her because she s giving her body a
substance that it has become dependent on. First, I would suggest to Sarah that instead of
smoking to rid her of stress she should try to exercise instead. Exercising is a great stress reliever
and it doesn t have to be more than a minute long. I would also suggest that she begins to drink
green tea or any other tea that relieves stress. Drinking tea is a much healthier way to rid stress and

Deaf People Myth
The first myth that I chose would be that Deaf people cannot contribute to society. Some pieces
of literature that we have read or watched would be the civil war story, Chapter three The camera

because it shows the conservation of history; it takes us back in time to the civil war. This story is
considered a piece of history and a Deaf person provided it, this little piece of history will forever

Why College Is Important To Me Research Paper
In today s society, going to college is very important to me especially. This is because many
different jobs require some type of college degree. For me particularly, I need a four year college
degree to do what I would like to do, which is, nursing. Although there were thousands of colleges
to choose from, Northwest Florida State Collegeseemed to be the perfect fit for me because of all
my personal reasons, for example, smaller classes, close to home which helps me and my family
saves money, and has an outstanding nursing program.
There are many different reasons I believe Northwest Florida State College was right for me.
First example is I was looking for a college that had smaller class sizes. Smaller class sizes help
me put tremendously, In a small class I am able to focus better, make friends easier, find noble
study groups, and helps me spend more time engaging with the professor. Also, coming from a
small high school, I knew I would feel more at comfortable in a small class setting. Overall, I knew

possible about this device, than you are going to want to read the pros and cons of this so that you

To start off, I will to state all of the cons of the iphoneto get them out of the way. The biggest one
that I have found that you may want to know is that once you get attached to it you will not be
able to get your hands off of it, after which you will have to pay for data and wifi sometimes.
This can last for years without any problems until you drop it and your screen will not turn on.
Initially there is a way to fix this, but once it happens there is no reversing time. Another thing
connecting that is you can buy lifeproof phone cases, except for the fact that they can be
hundreds of dollars and it may not be worth it. Also, if you have saved data onto your iphone and
it breaks, if you don t back it up then you lose everything. Apple iPhone does not support flash so

Clinical And Pathological Data Of The Medical Practitioner...
Abstract:
In medical field the disease diagnosis is often made based on the knowledge and experience of the
medical practitioner. Due to this there are chances of errors, unwanted biases and also takes longer
time in accurate diagnosis of disease. In case of heart disease, its diagnosis is most difficult task. It
depends on the careful analysis of different clinical and pathological data of the patient by medical
experts, which is complicated process. Due to advancement in machine learning, computer and
information technology, the researchers and medical practitioners in large extent are interested in
the development of automated system for the prediction of heart disease. ECG consists of various
waveforms of electric signals of heat .To process the ECG signal we will generate a multi layered
learning algorithm using a Learning vector Quantization (LVQ) neural network with generalized
delta rules under supervised learning. The neural network in this system accepts 13 clinical features
as input and predicts that there is a presence or absence of heart disease in the patient, along with
different performance measures.

Justice In The Wanderer And Beowulf
History has shown that during the Anglo Saxon time period, the ideals and values of the people
were very important to them. The Anglo Saxons were a people that inhabited modern day
Britain. They migrated from the western part of the continent of Europe to Britain during the 5th
century. The time period that Anglo Saxon people inhabited Britain became known as the Anglo
Saxon period in English history. This period lasted between 500 1066 AD. During this time
period, stories had not yet begun to be printed into books, so stories were spread by word of

During that time period, a king was the most important person to someone and he was regarded
almost as high as a god would be. Because of this high regard for a king, loyalty to that king and
acting on his behalf was extremely important. This is exemplified in The Wanderer when the
narrator states I might find one who in mead hall might accept my affection, or on me,
friendless, might wish consolation, offer me joy (Lines 27 29). This quote shows that the
narrator in The Wanderer is searching for a king to serve because he has lost his. It is also
shown that he finds support and joy in having a king to look towards for guidance. Likewise, in
Beowulf his purpose is to serve a king that is not his own as stated in lines 415 426, So every
elder and experienced councilman among my people supported my resolve come here to you,
King Hrothgar, because all knew of my awesome strength. They had seen me boltered in the

True! Nervous very, very dreadfully nervous I had been and am; but why will you say that I am
mad? In the story A Tell Tale Heart the narrator believes that the actions he takes throughout the
whole story are completely normal. The eye of the old man is what the narrator says possessed
him to kill him. The central idea that Poe is revolving around the main character is the ideas of
guilt, obsession, and madness. The author uses repetition to really exemplify that the narrator was
obsessed with the eyeof the man. In the story A Tell Tale Heart the narrator is mad. In the very
first paragraph one of the first clues that proves this is when he says I heard all things in the heaven
and in the earth. I heard many things in hell. He is imagining that he can hear everything around
him. To really exemplify the idea that he is mad the author uses repetition for this as well.
Throughout the story the narrator asks the reader multiple times if he... Show more content on

Yes, it was this! He had the eye of a vulture a pale blue eye, with a film over it. Whenever it fell
upon me, my blood ran cold the narrator was obsessed with the eye of the old man. He claims
that is was the eye that caused him to kill the old man. For 7 long nights the narrator would
sneak into the room of the old man at midnight and open a crevice in his lantern to see the eye of
the old man. It took him seven nights because every time he would see the old mans face his
eyes were closed because he was sleeping. He didn t hate the old man, he was fond of him the
only thing that fueled the murder was his vulture eye. On the eight night the narrator was
sneaking into the room when he made a noise and the old man heard him. He stood there silent
for an hour and slowly he opened the lantern until a simple dim ray, like the thread of the spider,
shot from out the crevice and fell full upon the vulture eye . When he say the eye it finally fueled
him to kill the old man and that is what he

Multinational Corporations ( Mncs ) Essay
The enterprises that operate in numerous countries to produce or provide services outside their
original countries can be identified as Multinational Corporations (MNCs), or Transnational
Corporations (TNCs). Usually, an MNC can produce at least 25 percent of its world output outside
of its country of origin. Recently, a new breed of MNC emerges thanks to Internet based
communication tools. They begin their operations in different countries very early on. Because
they are small businesses, these companies are being called micro multinationals to distinguish
them from larger MNCs. Several of these micro multinationals are software development
companies. They have been looking for employees in many countries since the start of the age of
the Internet. Nowadays, an increasing number of micro multinationals actively market their
products and services in numerous nations. The use of Internet tools like Google, Yahoo, MSN,
Ebay and Amazon makes it easier for the micro multinationals to reach potential customers in
other countries. There are many ways to explain the diverse and manifold growth of the
multinationals. Those include these factors: (1) Expansion of market skills, (2) Superior
marketing, (3) Huge financial resources, (4) Technological edge. Expansion of Market Skill After
India announced the liberalized foreign investment policy in 1991, a growth spurt in the number of
MNCs as well as foreign collaborations occurred. The MNCs in India are very diverse. Though they

How Does The Help Change The Whole World
That one question. That one question that changes everything. That one question that changes
your whole world. This is what happened in The Help by Kathryn Stockett. The Help takes
place in the 1960 s in a very racist little town. Skeeter, a white privileged lady, speaks up and
writes a book exposing racial injustices. She writes a book with the help of black maids to bring
about change. Change begins with a whisper is shown as Celia Foote finds confidence in herself
to accept her faults. Celia found a confidence in herself that she never knew she had. She had
gone through many struggles growing up in Sugar Ditch and then thinking her husband didn t
love her. Celia felt like she wasn t good enough because she wasn t the perfect wife or because
she couldn t have children. Celia, at the end of the book, finally accepts that she can t have
children and that Johnny is ok with it. Minnie also helps her build her cooking skills, but also
just helps her as a friend. When Johnny finally finds out about Minnie (and Celia knows he
knows), Celia has a giant weight lifted off her shoulder. She finally changes the way she lives. She

This is a change I would like to see in our school like Skeeter wanted to change people actions
and thoughts. School start time is so very early in the morning. People have early bird classes,
early practices, early meetings, early everything. If the start time of school was pushed back you
would have more time to fit in those activities without having to wake up at 5 am. Students focus
better when they have more sleep and test scores would improve. Many students have so many
activities at night, they can t just go to bed earlier. If school started even just a half hour later, that
would be a half hour more they could be alert and attentive in school. Changing the school start time

Circus Persuasive Speech
Summarize Written Text 1. A herd of elephants flies past you at sixty miles perhour, followed by
a streak of tigers, a pride of lions, and a bunch of clowns. What do you see? It must be a circus
train! One of the first uses of the circus train is credited to W.C. Coup. He partnered with P.T.
Barnum in 1871 to expand the reach of their newly combined shows using locomotives. Before
circus trains, these operators had to lug around all of their animals, performers, and equipment
with a team of more than 600 horses. Since there were no highways, these voyages were rough
and took a long time. Circuses would stop at many small towns between the large venues.
Performing at many of these small towns was not very profitable. Because of these limitations,
circuses could not grow as large as the imaginations of the operators. After they began using circus
trains, Barnum and Coup only brought their show to large cities. These performances were much
more profitable and the profits went toward creating an even bigger and better circus. Multiple
rings were added and the show went on. Today, Ringling... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You guessed it: it s a ninja! Perhaps the only thing more elusive than a ninja is the source of the
word ninja. In China ninja are more often referred to as shinobi. The Chinese word shinobi, short
for shinobi no mono, means to steal away. The word shinobi appears in Chinese poems as far
back as the eighth century. So how did this word become ninja? Some believe that during the
Edo period in Japan, the word shinobi no mono was appropriated and transformed to the very
similar word ninja. This probably happened because it was a lot quicker and easier to just say
ninja. It is difficult to see how such a transformation could have occurred when we look at the
words using our alphabet, but if you look at the kanji representing these words, it may make more
sense to

The nucleus is enclosed in a nuclear membrane which has pores to allow RNA and proteins. The
nucleus functions the activity in a plant cell and stores the plant s DNA. (Plant Cell Anatomy, n.d.)
Inside the nucleus is the nucleolus which produces ribosomes. The ribosomes then transport out of
the nucleolus and to the rough endoplasmic reticulum for a process called protein synthesis. (Plant

The rough endoplasmic reticulum is an organelle that plays a large role in synthesising and

Response to Boyz N the Hood Essay
Amad EliaCIN 303 Response to Boyz N the Hood and Review by Roger Ebert in the Chicago
Sun TimesThe more times I viewed this film, the more I became captivated by the poignant
message Singleton is trying to convey in Boyz N the Hood. The poignant message is the impact
that a father has on a young urban African American individual living in the ghetto and
subsequently the impact of being fatherless in the ghetto. In fact Boyz N the Hood includes,
among many social topics, a father s essential role in his son s healthy development and the
disastrous effects a father s absence has on children and society. For instance, the main character,
Tre (Cuba Gooding Jr.), has a father who strongly influences and guides him. His... Show more

Furthermore, Boyz N the Hood also offers an honest and realistic portrayal of a father s absence
in urban America. This is best exemplified by Tre s boyhood friends, who lack a strong fatherly
influence, end up involved in gang violence, selling drugs, and other societal traps. More
specifically, a close friend, Doughboy, lacks a father in his life. And although Doughboy s mother
ties to lead him in the right direction, she favors Doughboy s brother Ricky over him, and
Doughboy ends up spending time in prison and dealing drugs. Doughboy experiences gang related
violence first hand and ultimately becomes a neighborhood victim. Without a strong father figure,
Doughboy never valued responsibility, dedication, respect for women, or morality. Resultantly, he
succumbs to his neighborhood s social ills.
Moreover, in terms of connecting Boyz N the Hood to our course, I was beguiled by a few
similarities and differences between Do the Right Thing and Boyz N the Hood. One similarity is
that both Singleton and Lee introduce protagonist characters in their films (Mookie in Do the Right
Thing, and Furious in Boyz N the Hood) that illuminate the thematic messages that each director is
trying to communicate in their films. Another, similarity is that both films introduce complex
themes and frankly explored racism, using contemporary rap music as background and as political
commentary. In regards to

One of the most definitive problems with Charlotte Beers brand stewardship was her
communicative process with upper level management. While it may be true that Beers was able to

It is essential to the success of any plan that a strategy must first be developed, and to that point,

who, along with his friend, Tyrone (Marlon Wayans), thinks that his big break in life will be

television set as collateral for drug deals. Harry s girlfriend Marion (Jennifer Connelly) is a
talented clothing designer who could have a future, but she can t resist the drugs, and she finds

Humanism In The Renaissance
Europeans emerging into the new era of the Renaissance came upon the deep interest in Latin and
Greek literature, whom later took the name humanists . Humanism was a new education plan that
valued evidence and reason and was influenced by ancient literature from a time when scholars
like Plato and Socrates based their teachings with scientific evidence rather than religious teaching.
In the effect of the Bubonic plague, many Europeans lost faith when they were battered with the
epidemic that drastically decreased the population and in effect, doubted the church and it s
teachings. As the medieval time period reached it s end, society (mainly scholars at first) became
more educated of secular ideas. Therefore, experimented with debates and wrote texts to defend a
broader education system not only based on medieval church teachings (Of course, inventions like
the printing press in the 1440s highly impacted the spread of teachings and texts which allowed the
idea to become more widely known in a shorter period of time than was attempted by past scholars).
The impact and growth of secularism and individualism in effect of humanismfrom the 1400s to
1700s rests highly on humanists like Raphael, Marsilio Ficino and .....who emphasized the
teachings of humanism corresponding with the study of ancient texts which modified the
educational system and governmental bodies and influenced a change in cultural aspects affecting

of Baltimore in its quest for more tourism but is hindered by its high crime rate. The plight of
Baltimore is also highlighted in the television program The Wire.
Summary of Demographic and Crime Profile When looking at the population numbers of Southside
Flats and Allegheny County, there are not many differences. The differences are that the
neighborhood has relatively few African Americans living within it (around 2.5%, while Allegheny
County has 12%) (U.S. Census 2000). This is likely due to the history the neighborhood has as a
destination for people of Eastern European descent, which would account for the over 95% of the
neighborhood that is white (U.S. Census Bureau). Another disparity that appears is the number of
home owners. The census information shows that 67% of residents in Allegheny County own their
home; Southside Flats data shows that homeownership is about 42% (U.S. Census Bureau 2000).
The biggest difference comes in median household income. The median income for residents of
Southside Flats is just under $25,000,

Three Examples Of Racial Discrimination In The Workplace

that these go hand in hand and without one the others are irrelevant. Meaning, if we did not have

definition of racein our class book is as follows Race typically refers to appearances, such as skin
color, hair type (straight, curly, kinky), skin hue, eye color, stature, body size, nose, eyes, and head

There are no marble arches and no lighthouses. The river has dried up with the memory of the
empire and the bones of a dead leader have long since turned to dust. Colossal galleons and
crowds to greet victorious soldiers are no longer even a memory in the minds of those alive
today, simply words on paper in books gathering dust in the darkest corner of a room. There is
no one to remember the beauty of the vast city; no one to describe the sight of the lighthouses
and no one to recall the crisp aroma of the once majestic river. All that remains are the few
paintings and statues that did not dissolve with time. The dust of the bones of men, women and
children long since dead has faded from existence. There is no one left to remember the man
selling wares in the street or the woman grieving over the soldier she loved. Nobody holds the
memory of the child playing in the park or the servant bringing a pitcher of water to his master.
The meaning behind the statue has faded from everyone s mind. The man, whose wrinkled lip and
sneer of cold command secured his victory in every battle he fought, has dissolved into nothing
more than a story in a book. As the impending dawn draws near, a daunting sight can be seen in the
distance. The remains of what was once the centre of this ruined empire glows in the morning light.

Anabolic Steroid
Testosterone is used as a basic standard in which all other anabolic steroids are measured. Each
anabolic steroid has its own anabolic and androgenic value. These values significantly explain the
steroid and help determine the possible combination.
Anabolic steroids have anabolic and androgenic effects in humans. The anabolic properties of
anabolic steroids are responsible for the growth of muscles and tissues. The androgen side promotes
masking effects such as deepening of the voice and increasing body and facial hair. The anabolic
effects of steroids are what athletes and bodybuilders seek to avoid androgenic effects.
In the early years of anabolic steroid development, there was no standardized test method for
different steroids or the method of measuring their strength. Hershberger Assay was introduced in
1960 to solve this problem. After administration of the steroid test, various parts of the body and
muscles were analyzed in the rat. Since testosterone was considered the standard for testing, the

A Code Hero in Hemingway s Books Essay
A Code Hero in Hemingway s Books
Robert Jordan has been defined as a Hemingway code hero. In Hemingway s books, a code hero is
usually male, as Hemingway s books seem to have a similarity to Hemingway himself. These
code heroes may have been previously wounded or gone through some sort of an ordeal, and so
they could have a drinking problem, or a problem sleeping. They seem to be disillusioned, and/or
self oriented, and are not usually loyal to a large cause, but rather a small group of people or a
relatively small idea or thing. In For Whom the Bell Tolls, Robert Jordan, the code hero, most likely
dies at the end. If it were not for his loyalty to a small group, the events in the novel would

Indecision could provide a reason for having a sleeping problem, as he does some things other than
sleeping at night, one of the criteria for a code hero.
Disillusionment can be seen as the main contributor to the code hero definition. Jordan s
disillusionment grows throughout the novel, to the point where he doesn t believe in the rebel
cause whatsoever, war itself, or the killing of other human beings in the name of a cause. After
Jordan kills the fascist who wanders near his sleeping bag, he is bothered by a constant feeling
of guilt. It seems that Jordan experiences a change as the novel progresses, but his determination
to complete the very dangerous mission never wavers, even though it becomes very clear that
they will probably not escape. His code hero ethic to do what he needs to do manages to defeat
his feelings for Maria, his growing negative feeling about the cause, and war itself. If Jordan had
simply abandoned the mission, he would have been able to live happily ever after with Maria, but
he would have let general Golz down by not doing what he was sent to do.
At the end of the novel, Jordan ends being injured in the process of trying to escape. He
convinces Maria to leave him and escape with the rest of the band. Agustin even offers to put him
out of his misery, so he doesn t have to face the approaching fascists. Jordan, however, does not
want to go out without a fight. By

Essay On Sacred Heart Vs Notre Dame Hockey Game
On Thursday, October 19, I attended the Sacred Heart versus Notre Dame hockey game. I have
previously attended hockey games at Compton Family Ice Arena both in and out of the student
section. However, this experience was slightly different than my previous ones since many
students were still away for fall break. The lack of students created a much different atmosphere
especially because at Notre Dame Hockey games the crowd tends to feed off the excitement of
students. This was obvious during certain songs such as Turn Down for What by DJ Snake and Lil
Jon which elicits strong responses from students but created little excitement minus the students.
However, the crowd did feed off the band. The crowd joined in during let s go Irish ... Show more

The first was the constant matchup graphic on the ribbon board as I found the animation kind of
distracting throughout the game. It would be helpful if the players on the ice were shown with
their statistics similar to the way it is done at both men s and women s basketball games,
however, I also understand that may be unrealistic in hockey since there are such quick line
changes. Another possible area of improvement is the intro video. It felt very generic compared
to the ones that I m used to seeing for Notre Dame sports. Unlike this year s intro videos at
volleyball (which features team expectations matched with player highlights) and football (which
focuses on the excellence and tradition of the program), the only words in the hockey intro video
were what a hit and takes a shot which seem like placeholders for something more. Since this
team did reach the Frozen Four last year, I expected the intro video to build on last year s
excellence or how they succeeded despite having one of the lowest seeds in the tournament.
Another big aspect of in game entertainment at hockey is the intermissions. At this game, the first
intermission was filled by a youth hockey league playing. I really enjoyed watching all the little
kids play hockey. It involved the community and created positive memories for the kids and their
parents. The second intermission was used for the Slap Shot contest. The Slap Shot contest is
always fun and really engages the

Hostility Towards Transgender Students
One of the most complex and diverse populations of people are those categorized as transgender.
These people are very often the subject of intense scrutiny, discrimination, ostracism, verbal
harassment and even physical assault. These responses to a transgendered person often stems from
a lack of understanding, confusion, fear, and anxiety when interacting with these people. In order to
understand why people are so unsettled when in the presence of a transgenderindividual, it is
essential to fully understand the term transgender.
The American Psychological Association published a Question and Answer pamphlet (2014) to
help the public understand the Transgender population in America. The APA defines the term
transgender as an umbrella term for persons whose gender identity, gender expression, or
behavior does not conform to that typically associated with the sex which they assigned at birth
(p. 1) They go on to explain the differences between gender identity and gender expression.
Gender identity is the person s internal sense of being male, female, or something else (p. 1).
Gender Expression refers to the way a person communicates gender identity to others through their
behavior, clothing, hairstyles, voice, and/or body characteristics (p. 1). The term transsexual is
defined as people whose gender identity is different from their assigned sex (p. 1). Many of these
transsexual individuals will choose to alter their physical biology through hormone replacement

Self-Discovery In Herman Hesse s Siddhartha
In Herman Hesse s Siddhartha, the titular main character journeys to find peace, Nirvana. This self
discovery lends itself to a main theme of the path to finding peace. Hesse used the river, its
ferryman, Vasudeva, and clothing to convey this theme of self discovery and the journey to it. A
river itself symbolizes life; it changes, yet cycles through. Traveling along a river symbolizes the
journey or quest for something. At the river, Siddharthafinally reaches peace and found what he
traveled and looked his life for. His discovery did not occur the his first time at the river; he only
crossed it then during a different attempt at discovery. His epiphany occurs because he interacted
with the river, became another ferryman for a time and listened to it. He heard the life flowing
through it and found his peace: then the great song of the thousand voices consisted of a single
word, which was Om: the perfection (98). Siddhartha spent years and tried various methods to find

suggested listening to the river on multiple occasions, and he gave advice to Siddhartha about his
son after the mother died. The son ran away and Vasudeva recommended that Siddhartha let him
go, but he did not for awhile. Once Siddhartha let him go in his mind, he became closer to finding
peace. Siddhartha needed the ferryman to find peace. The ferryman listed to the river and could

The Flea By John Donne Essay
Poems are very interesting pieces of literature, and can sometimes be hard to understand. To be
able to understand poems, it is important to look at the physical parts, the intellectual parts, and
how they shape the poem. The author John Donne has written many poems that could be
interpreted in many ways, and are analyzed by many people in the United States and around the
world. John Donne s The Flea is a good example of a poem that can be analyzed for its physical
and intellectual parts, and how they work together to make the poem what it is because it is
descriptive, and can be interpreted in many ways. First, it is important to look at the physical
parts of a poem. Donne s The Flea is comprised of three stanzas, and twenty seven lines total. The
poem talks about a lover and a beloved, and how the love that the lover feels is requited by the
beloved. This poem differs from sonnets in the way that the love in a sonnetis unrequited, but the
love in this poem is requited, as was talked about in class. In the first stanza, there are nine lines,
and each line rhymes with the line after it. For example, line three rhymes with line four at the end
with the words thee and be. This continues for the rest of the stanza the last three lines of the stanza
in which all three rhymewith the words woo, two, and do. This rhyme scheme is also shown
throughout the rest of the poem. In each stanza, the last three line are indented to show that they

A Quick Review On Reading Skills
A Quick Review
One of the major issues, making it difficult to evaluate How to Read a Book, is that this reviewer
did not have any books in his personal library with which to compare it. Sure, there are websites
and classes one might encounter that will help to improve the person in various aspects their of
reading skills, but too often these mediums seem to be more concerned with rapid and mass
consumption with the least amount of effort to produce an acceptable product. The intent in many
approaches to reading is not Adler and Doren s purpose of increased understanding, but is instead
merely gaining information to finalize a project quickly and advance to the next assignment. This is
what made this book not only unique, but also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It moves the reader past merely what another thinks about a particular topic, and into higher forms
of learning that develop why one thinks the way they do.
Insight Gained from Reading
First, as previously stated, this reviewer s deficient venture into books of this type limited his
understanding of this topic to only personal experience. So, the four types of reading were not
only new, but also very beneficial. This method might be learned through trial and error, but the
way in which the book showed the process of reading could save the reader not only much trial,
but also plenty of error.
For example, the amount of time that has been lost by not understanding and being effective in
inspectional reading has probably cost many hours of extra perusing or lost information that would
have formed greater understanding. When inspectional reading is done poorly, this then effects
how one fully digests an author s intent in analytical reading. Or, in regards to syntopical reading,
the final project the reader is seeking to accomplish is often not brought to understanding, but
merely a regurgitation of collected information. The way in which the author interdependently built
each level of reading so

The Consequences Of King Henry VIII
King Henry VIII Tudor was greedy, selfish and a very ambitious man in his time. Anything that
Henry wanted, he would strive to make sure that he received it and it happened, no matter what
the costs were. This includes divorcing all of his wives, even though such divorces were against
Catholics theologies. Reigning between 1509 and 1547, Henry VIII became the most famous
king for all of the wives he ended up marrying and then divorcing. This issue was so popular
during Henry s reign, that a rhyme was even created to summarize the fates of all of his wives,
divorced, beheaded, died, divorced, beheaded, survived, but what was the real reason Henry
decided to divorce, and sometimes behead, his wives? Henry would say that he divorced his wives
because they cheated him in the relationship, they tricked Henry into marrying them out of love or
the marriagewas not a valid one. But in all actuality, Henry VIII only married to get something out
of the relationship that would benefit himself or how he controlled his country. If his wife did not
provide what he wanted and needed, he would divorce her and move on to the next wife. This tactic
was shown through his first wife Queen Katherine of Aragon in the letters that Cardinal Campeggio
wrote about the King s personal marriage situation to Queen Katherine, known as The King s
Matter. Cardinal Campeggio, himself, wrote in a letter to Pope Clement VII, about the time King
Henry privately came to him asking about an annulment. Campeggio wrote that he talked to Henry
for four hours discussing two matters. The first was why Henry should not go through with the
annulment of his marriage with Queen Katherine. Campeggio suggested that he should not seek an
annulment because it would only start trouble within the country because it would look scandalous.
Campeggio stated, I exhorted him not to attempt this matter, in order to confirm and clear his
conscience, to establish the succession of the kingdom and to avoid scandals. Campeggio also
suggested that seeking an annulment would only increase tension and Henry should worry about
more about pressing issues, such as finding an heir, but little did Campeggio know, annulling Henry
s marriage to Queen Katherine was

Marijuana as a Gateway Drug
Sociology 225 Research Paper Marijuana as a Gateway Drug The gateway theory is a hypothesis
which states that the use of gateway drugs (alcohol, tobacco and marijuana) lead to the use of more
illicit drugs such as heroin and cocaine. According to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA),
marijuana is a Schedule I substance under the Controlled Substances Act. Schedule I drugs are
classified as having a high potential for abuse, no currently accepted medical use in treatment in
the United States, and a lack of accepted safety for use of the drug or other substance under
medical supervision. Marijuana is thus considered by the U.S. government to be more dangerous
than cocaine and opium both Schedule II drugs, and at the same time a... Show more content on

Risk of hard drug use goes up with marijuana use as a matter of circumstance not due to an
unbreakable link. There are two parts to the gateway theory: 1) those that use illicit substances
like cocaine or heroin will use marijuana first and 2) the use of marijuana exerts a casual influence
on one s likelihood of using other illicit substances. According to the Can Social Psychological
Delinquency Theory Explain The Link Between Marijuana and Other Illicit Drug Use? article, the
study set out to disprove the second qualification of the gateway theory. However, it failed to do so
because the results suggested those who use marijuana are between three and five times more likely
than counterparts to use other illicit drugs even after adjusting statistically for the influence for
strain, social bonding and differential association. It noted that the results were observed across
multiple time points and across multiple methods, one of which adjusts statistically for the
influence of unmeasured variables. It conceded the point that the use of marijuana may contribute
in a casual manner to one s probability of using other illicit drugs. It has been widely regarded that
postponing youths marijuana initiation, prevention efforts will reduce the likelihood of hard drug
use and abuse (Yamaguchi amp; Kandel 1984b; Kandel et al. 1992; Golub amp; Johnson 2001).
Postponing one s marijuana initiation to a certain extent only brings them closer to the drug
underworld. In a

environment journalists, oil refineries emit a lot of greenhouse gasses, but this scenario is also
covered up with the requirement to develop further on research and development of many eco
friendly techniques for the extraction of oil from the mining.
Even, the government should establish laws and regulations to deal with the problem of
greenhouse effects. They should plant the more plants and even grow double the number they chop
down to establish the industry. As this provides more revenues for the federal government, even the
government should play a vital role to sustain the ecological balance between environment and
industry. Federal should introduce new land laws for the security of locals and proper exchange

Different Types Of Market Structures
Market Structures A market is defined as an institution that brings together buyers (demanders) and
sellers (suppliers) of a particular good or service. A Market structure is the relationship among the
buyers and sellers of a market and how prices are determined through outside influences. There are
four different types of market structures. Two on opposite extremes, and two comfortably in the
middle. On one end is perfect competition, which acts as a starting point in price and output
determination. Pure competition is when a large number of firms sell a standardized product, entry
and exit is very easy, and an individual firm cannot control the price. On the other extreme end is
Pure monopoly. A monopoly is characterized by an absence of competition, which will often allow
one seller to control the market. A Pure monopoly is essentially the same thing, but also includes
near impossible entry and no substitute goods. Two more common market structures are
monopolistic competition and oligopoly. Monopolistic competition has a large number of sellers
producing different products, while an oligopoly has only a few number of sellers producing
similar products. All in all pure competition, pure monopoly, monopolistic competition, and
oligopoly are all unique market structures with differing characteristics, but have one main goal,
profit maximization. A pure competition market may be be rare in the real world, but it acts as a
vital introduction into the topic of markets. To

Approach Elements
Although certain setting characteristics that entice one kind of student may deter another type of
student, there are several approach elements that can be used to make the student feel more relaxed.
Approach elements in the classroom are imperative to a student s learning and educational
experience. The approach elements are the factors that make up an inviting and reassuring
environment (Fisk, Grove, John, 2014, p.69). A university system will want to make sure it
properly utilizes certain approach elements because students will learn better is a supportive
comfortable learning environment (Young, 2014). Positive permanent approach elements present in

  • 3. Goodman Brown Innocence From Ignorant Innocence to Enlightened Corruption Nathaniel Hawthorne was born in 1804, in the city of Salem in Massachusetts. His familial ancestors were amongst the earliest settlers of the Massachusetts Bay Colony. One of Nathaniel s grandfathers served as a judge in the 1692 Salem witch trials and had condemned twenty five women to death. Nathaniel Hawthorn incorporates both his fascination and his horror at his family s involvement in the witch trials and focuses much of his literature on the social history of New England and the Puritans. In Nathaniel Hawthorne s short story Young Goodman Brown, Hawthorne expresses his true feelings about the negative beliefs of the puritan religion through a coming of age story, showing the loss of innocence that every Puritan goes through to reach maturity. In the story, Hawthorn utilizes duplicity in his naming of the characters. The main character s name is Young Goodman Brown, and is representative of the archetypal Puritan. It sacrifices civil liberties for government power. The USA PATRIOT Act, which stands for Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act, was passed shortly after the attacks of 9 /11. It was signed by President George W Bush because he believed that the act would help America bring a halt to terrorism. However, in his efforts to track down terrorism, the act also violated American privacy rights. The act violates citizens civil rights by violating the Fourth Amendment of the US Constitution. The Fourth Amendment states that government agents or law enforcement officers may only carry out searches and arrest after obtaining search or arrest warrants from the courts. The act also violates the Fifth Amendment of the US Constitution. The Fifth Amendment states that all US citizens have the right to due process of law, meaning that no one can be deprived of their life, liberty, or property without a fair trial. If an individual is not able to replace the loss in due amount of time, this can eventually lead to death. Nevertheless, although it may seem diarrheal (the constant release of fecal) is the cause of painful effects, it is not. Rather diarrhea is a mechanism the body uses to get rid of the harmful bacteria(pathogen) inside the body. The pathogen is typically presented in the water and food one consumes, and is injected in the body. This infection known as amoebiasis is most prevalent in developing countries, because water sanitation may not be fully adhered to be taken action for. • 11. Who Is To Blame For Romeo And Juliet s Death Romeo and Juliet Romeo and Juliet is a play written by William Shakespeare in the 14th century. It is a beautiful tragedy about two star crossed lovers and their journey together despite their feuding families protests. As a result of said feud, both Romeo and Juliet ended their lives, as a result of thinking that the other was dead. If we take this kind of situation and put it into the modern world, someone would be blamed for these tragic deaths. The only question is who. Their parents are to blame the Montagues and the Capulets. Of course, to craft your opinion on this topic, you must first understand the fictional background of the Montagues and the Capulets. Although the play doesn t offer a backstory, readers can easily see how much tension there is between the two families. They acknowledge it too, but most of the evidence for my conclusion comes from characters other than the Capulet and Montague head of households. Verona, where this play takes place, has a prince that notices all the conflict going on between the families. He says, right after a fight scene from which Tybalt (a Capulet) and Mercutio (a Montague) emerge dead, Romeo slew him; he slew Mercutio. Who now the price of his dear blood doth owe? (3.1.175 176.) The prince is pretty much fed up with the fighting between the Montagues and the Capulets. After this scene, readers of Romeo and Juliet can safely infer that the death of a Montague and the death of a Capulet will not be the last. There did not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Pros And Cons Of Death Punishment In terms of the death penalty, certain crimes do deserve this punishment, under specific circumstances. Heinous crimes, such as the murder of the 1st and 2nd degree and rape, should be punishable by death. However, this punishment shall only occur so long as the criminal(s) pass both the M Naghten Rule and the Durham Rule. In the gruesome murders of the Clutters family, Perry Edward Smith and Richard Eugene Hitchcock were both deemed perfectly sane under both rules, showing that both men deserved the death penalty. Although there is plenty of proof that Hitchcock was sane, there is also enough evidence to prove that Smith was mentally unstable. Due to this evidence, Hitchcock rightfully got what he deserved, while Smith was wrongfully done. According to Cornell Law School, the M Naghten Rule is when a defendant is claimed to be innocent when at the time of committing the act, the accused was laboring under such a defect of reason, from disease of the mind, as not to know the nature and quality of the act he was doing or, if he did know it, that he did not know what he was doing was wrong ( Insanity Defense). In Layman s terms, an accused is deemed innocent if he/she does not know right from wrong and/or does not know what he/she is doing at the time of the crime. In regards to Richard Hitchcock, he is not protected under this said rule. Proof that Hitchcock knew what he was doing and knew it was wrong is expressed in C J Lewis article of Hitchcock v. State. Gluten Free Diet And Gluten Food The Gluten free diet, a shitshow Gluten free, it has become the blazing slogan on the majority of food items, including food items that never had gluten to begin with, such as water. This push towards ridding our diets of grains has become extremely mainstream, but is this diet as healthy as it has been made out to be? While there can be some benefits to the gluten free diet, there is a lot of scientific evidence that suggests that products containing gluten are a staple of a healthy diet. Even though a gluten free diet may be medically necessary for some, the gluten free products available on the market are very expensive. Ultimately, the only people who truly benefit from gluten free diets are those who have been diagnosed with celiac disease or non celiac gluten sensitivity. The people who do choose to partake in the gluten free diet who do not have a pre existing medical condition should consult their doctor before altering their diet. When I was attending primary school, maladies such as non celiac gluten sensitivity did not exist. Fast forward to the year 2016, and I can name at least five people who are gluten free. The popularity of the gluten free diet has grown, with, approximately 30% of the US population adhering to a gluten free diet (Linda Johanson, 2015). Votive Statue Of Gudea Essay The Depiction of Divine Power in Votive Statue of Gudea Votive Statue of Gudea, is one of a series of votive figures commissioned by the Sumerian ruler Gudea, circa the year 2090 BCE . It was found in the modern city of Telloh, Iraq, formerly called Girsu, the capital city of the ancient Sumerian city state of Lagash . The statue is carved from diorite, a hard, dark colored stone that must have been imported to the city from other parts of the region . The votive statue is relatively small in size, measuring only two and a half feet in height . In the sculpture, Gudea stares directly at the viewer with large, pupil less eyes. His neck is nearly nonexistent, and his broad shoulders and long, well defined arms are disproportionate to the statue s comparably short torso and legs. In the artwork, Gudea is dressed in a long, smooth robe covered in cuneiform writing. A top his head, Gudea wears a large stylized fleece hat and he holds a jug spouting water in two streams firmly in his hands. Sarah has her head on straight and is on a track to a very successful career as an actuary. She is also a very family oriented individual. Sarah has a daughter that is two years old and a fiancГ© that she has been with for several years. Sarah is my favorite cousin because she is such a good person, it is just she feels like she cannot stop smokingcigarettes. In spite of all her qualities, she cannot quit smoking. Sarah says she is under a lot of stress right now and smoking relaxes her. She also explained she doesn t know where to start and all the methods she has already tried have not worked for her. Finally, Sarah does not feel like she has the strength to quit smoking. I love my cousin dearly and want to help her quit, so I have some advice for her. Sarah says she is under a lot of stress right now and smoking relaxes her. I understand that she is stressed with completing her final classes, but there are other ways. Cigarettes only relax her because she s giving her body a substance that it has become dependent on. First, I would suggest to Sarah that instead of smoking to rid her of stress she should try to exercise instead. Exercising is a great stress reliever and it doesn t have to be more than a minute long. I would also suggest that she begins to drink green tea or any other tea that relieves stress. Drinking tea is a much healthier way to rid stress and it is way more convenient than ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Some pieces of literature that we have read or watched would be the civil war story, Chapter three The camera as Printing Press, the ABC Story, as well as Hero in ASL. This story is considered a piece of history and a Deaf person provided it, this little piece of history will forever be passed on. The Anglo Saxons were a people that inhabited modern day Britain. They migrated from the western part of the continent of Europe to Britain during the 5th century. The time period that Anglo Saxon people inhabited Britain became known as the Anglo Saxon period in English history. This period lasted between 500 1066 AD. This quote shows that the narrator in The Wanderer is searching for a king to serve because he has lost his. It is also shown that he finds support and joy in having a king to look towards for guidance. Likewise, in Beowulf his purpose is to serve a king that is not his own as stated in lines 415 426, So every elder and experienced councilman among my people supported my resolve come here to you, King Hrothgar, because all knew of my awesome strength. Usually, an MNC can produce at least 25 percent of its world output outside of its country of origin. Recently, a new breed of MNC emerges thanks to Internet based communication tools. They begin their operations in different countries very early on. Because they are small businesses, these companies are being called micro multinationals to distinguish them from larger MNCs. Several of these micro multinationals are software development companies. They have been looking for employees in many countries since the start of the age of the Internet. Nowadays, an increasing number of micro multinationals actively market their products and services in numerous nations. The use of Internet tools like Google, Yahoo, MSN, Ebay and Amazon makes it easier for the micro multinationals to reach potential customers in other countries. What do you see? It must be a circus train! One of the first uses of the circus train is credited to W.C. Coup. He partnered with P.T. Barnum in 1871 to expand the reach of their newly combined shows using locomotives. Before circus trains, these operators had to lug around all of their animals, performers, and equipment with a team of more than 600 horses. Since there were no highways, these voyages were rough and took a long time. Circuses would stop at many small towns between the large venues. Performing at many of these small towns was not very profitable. Because of these limitations, circuses could not grow as large as the imaginations of the operators. After they began using circus trains, Barnum and Coup only brought their show to large cities. These performances were much more profitable and the profits went toward creating an even bigger and better circus. Multiple rings were added and the show went on. Today, Ringling... Some believe that during the Edo period in Japan, the word shinobi no mono was appropriated and transformed to the very similar word ninja. Response to Boyz N the Hood Essay Amad EliaCIN 303 Response to Boyz N the Hood and Review by Roger Ebert in the Chicago Sun TimesThe more times I viewed this film, the more I became captivated by the poignant message Singleton is trying to convey in Boyz N the Hood. The poignant message is the impact that a father has on a young urban African American individual living in the ghetto and subsequently the impact of being fatherless in the ghetto. In fact Boyz N the Hood includes, among many social topics, a father s essential role in his son s healthy development and the disastrous effects a father s absence has on children and society. Furthermore, Boyz N the Hood also offers an honest and realistic portrayal of a father s absence in urban America. This is best exemplified by Tre s boyhood friends, who lack a strong fatherly influence, end up involved in gang violence, selling drugs, and other societal traps. More specifically, a close friend, Doughboy, lacks a father in his life. And although Doughboy s mother ties to lead him in the right direction, she favors Doughboy s brother Ricky over him, and Doughboy ends up spending time in prison and dealing drugs. Doughboy experiences gang related violence first hand and ultimately becomes a neighborhood victim. Without a strong father figure, Doughboy never valued responsibility, dedication, respect for women, or morality. Resultantly, he succumbs to his neighborhood s social ills. Moreover, in terms of connecting Boyz N the Hood to our course, I was beguiled by a few similarities and differences between Do the Right Thing and Boyz N the Hood. One similarity is that both Singleton and Lee introduce protagonist characters in their films (Mookie in Do the Right Thing, and Furious in Boyz N the Hood) that illuminate the thematic messages that each director is trying to communicate in their films. Another, similarity is that both films introduce complex themes and frankly explored racism, using contemporary rap music as background and as political commentary. In regards to ... • 36. Humanism In The Renaissance Europeans emerging into the new era of the Renaissance came upon the deep interest in Latin and Greek literature, whom later took the name humanists . Humanism was a new education plan that valued evidence and reason and was influenced by ancient literature from a time when scholars like Plato and Socrates based their teachings with scientific evidence rather than religious teaching. In the effect of the Bubonic plague, many Europeans lost faith when they were battered with the epidemic that drastically decreased the population and in effect, doubted the church and it s teachings. As the medieval time period reached it s end, society (mainly scholars at first) became more educated of secular ideas. Therefore, experimented with debates and wrote texts to defend a broader education system not only based on medieval church teachings (Of course, inventions like the printing press in the 1440s highly impacted the spread of teachings and texts which allowed the idea to become more widely known in a shorter period of time than was attempted by past scholars). The plight of Baltimore is also highlighted in the television program The Wire. Summary of Demographic and Crime Profile When looking at the population numbers of Southside Flats and Allegheny County, there are not many differences. The differences are that the neighborhood has relatively few African Americans living within it (around 2.5%, while Allegheny County has 12%) (U.S. Census 2000). This is likely due to the history the neighborhood has as a destination for people of Eastern European descent, which would account for the over 95% of the neighborhood that is white (U.S. Census Bureau). Another disparity that appears is the number of home owners. The census information shows that 67% of residents in Allegheny County own their home; Southside Flats data shows that homeownership is about 42% (U.S. Census Bureau 2000). The biggest difference comes in median household income. The median income for residents of Southside Flats is just under $25,000, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I believe that these go hand in hand and without one the others are irrelevant. Meaning, if we did not have racial discrimination, prejudice and stereotyping would not exist. The definition of racein our class book is as follows Race typically refers to appearances, such as skin color, hair type (straight, curly, kinky), skin hue, eye color, stature, body size, nose, eyes, and head shape (Robinson Wood, 2008). So racial discrimination could be defined as unequal treatment on the premise of their race or ethnicity (Pager and Shepherd, 2008). This statue, in frigid stone, represents a man who built one of the most formidable empires in human history, all while setting the course for its eventual downfall. As the morning sun rises over the horizon in a blaze of glory, the statue illuminates and reveals the somewhat melancholic ivy as it slowly envelops the forgotten emperor. Beside the statue, hanging on a ruined stone wall, is a painting of the city that once stood tall and proud. The river has dried up with the memory of the empire and the bones of a dead leader have long since turned to dust. Colossal galleons and crowds to greet victorious soldiers are no longer even a memory in the minds of those alive today, simply words on paper in books gathering dust in the darkest corner of a room. There is no one to remember the beauty of the vast city; no one to describe the sight of the lighthouses and no one to recall the crisp aroma of the once majestic river. All that remains are the few paintings and statues that did not dissolve with time. The dust of the bones of men, women and children long since dead has faded from existence. There is no one left to remember the man selling wares in the street or the woman grieving over the soldier she loved. Nobody holds the memory of the child playing in the park or the servant bringing a pitcher of water to his master. The meaning behind the statue has faded from everyone s mind. The man, whose wrinkled lip and sneer of cold command secured his victory in every battle he fought, has dissolved into nothing more than a story in a book. As the impending dawn draws near, a daunting sight can be seen in the distance. The remains of what was once the centre of this ruined empire glows in the morning light. These values significantly explain the steroid and help determine the possible combination. Anabolic steroids have anabolic and androgenic effects in humans. The anabolic properties of anabolic steroids are responsible for the growth of muscles and tissues. The androgen side promotes masking effects such as deepening of the voice and increasing body and facial hair. The anabolic effects of steroids are what athletes and bodybuilders seek to avoid androgenic effects. In the early years of anabolic steroid development, there was no standardized test method for different steroids or the method of measuring their strength. Hershberger Assay was introduced in 1960 to solve this problem. After administration of the steroid test, various parts of the body and muscles were analyzed in the rat. In Hemingway s books, a code hero is usually male, as Hemingway s books seem to have a similarity to Hemingway himself. These code heroes may have been previously wounded or gone through some sort of an ordeal, and so they could have a drinking problem, or a problem sleeping. They seem to be disillusioned, and/or self oriented, and are not usually loyal to a large cause, but rather a small group of people or a relatively small idea or thing. After Jordan kills the fascist who wanders near his sleeping bag, he is bothered by a constant feeling of guilt. It seems that Jordan experiences a change as the novel progresses, but his determination to complete the very dangerous mission never wavers, even though it becomes very clear that they will probably not escape. Another possible area of improvement is the intro video. It felt very generic compared to the ones that I m used to seeing for Notre Dame sports. These people are very often the subject of intense scrutiny, discrimination, ostracism, verbal harassment and even physical assault. These responses to a transgendered person often stems from a lack of understanding, confusion, fear, and anxiety when interacting with these people. In order to understand why people are so unsettled when in the presence of a transgenderindividual, it is essential to fully understand the term transgender. The American Psychological Association published a Question and Answer pamphlet (2014) to help the public understand the Transgender population in America. To be able to understand poems, it is important to look at the physical parts, the intellectual parts, and how they shape the poem. The author John Donne has written many poems that could be interpreted in many ways, and are analyzed by many people in the United States and around the world. John Donne s The Flea is a good example of a poem that can be analyzed for its physical and intellectual parts, and how they work together to make the poem what it is because it is descriptive, and can be interpreted in many ways. First, it is important to look at the physical parts of a poem. Donne s The Flea is comprised of three stanzas, and twenty seven lines total. The poem talks about a lover and a beloved, and how the love that the lover feels is requited by the beloved. This poem differs from sonnets in the way that the love in a sonnetis unrequited, but the love in this poem is requited, as was talked about in class. In the first stanza, there are nine lines, and each line rhymes with the line after it. For example, line three rhymes with line four at the end with the words thee and be. This continues for the rest of the stanza the last three lines of the stanza in which all three rhymewith the words woo, two, and do. This rhyme scheme is also shown throughout the rest of the poem. So, the four types of reading were not only new, but also very beneficial. This method might be learned through trial and error, but the way in which the book showed the process of reading could save the reader not only much trial, but also plenty of error. For example, the amount of time that has been lost by not understanding and being effective in inspectional reading has probably cost many hours of extra perusing or lost information that would have formed greater understanding. When inspectional reading is done poorly, this then effects how one fully digests an author s intent in analytical reading. Anything that Henry wanted, he would strive to make sure that he received it and it happened, no matter what the costs were. This includes divorcing all of his wives, even though such divorces were against Catholics theologies. Reigning between 1509 and 1547, Henry VIII became the most famous king for all of the wives he ended up marrying and then divorcing. This issue was so popular during Henry s reign, that a rhyme was even created to summarize the fates of all of his wives, divorced, beheaded, died, divorced, beheaded, survived, but what was the real reason Henry decided to divorce, and sometimes behead, his wives? Henry would say that he divorced his wives because they cheated him in the relationship, they tricked Henry into marrying them out of love or the marriagewas not a valid one. But in all actuality, Henry VIII only married to get something out of the relationship that would benefit himself or how he controlled his country. If his wife did not provide what he wanted and needed, he would divorce her and move on to the next wife. This tactic was shown through his first wife Queen Katherine of Aragon in the letters that Cardinal Campeggio wrote about the King s personal marriage situation to Queen Katherine, known as The King s Matter. Cardinal Campeggio, himself, wrote in a letter to Pope Clement VII, about the time King Henry privately came to him asking about an annulment. Campeggio wrote that he talked to Henry for four hours discussing two matters. The first was why Henry should not go through with the annulment of his marriage with Queen Katherine. Campeggio suggested that he should not seek an annulment because it would only start trouble within the country because it would look scandalous. Campeggio stated, I exhorted him not to attempt this matter, in order to confirm and clear his conscience, to establish the succession of the kingdom and to avoid scandals. Campeggio also suggested that seeking an annulment would only increase tension and Henry should worry about more about pressing issues, such as finding an heir, but little did Campeggio know, annulling Henry s marriage to Queen Katherine was ... Schedule I drugs are classified as having a high potential for abuse, no currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States, and a lack of accepted safety for use of the drug or other substance under medical supervision. According to the Can Social Psychological Delinquency Theory Explain The Link Between Marijuana and Other Illicit Drug Use? article, the study set out to disprove the second qualification of the gateway theory. However, it failed to do so because the results suggested those who use marijuana are between three and five times more likely than counterparts to use other illicit drugs even after adjusting statistically for the influence for strain, social bonding and differential association. A Market structure is the relationship among the buyers and sellers of a market and how prices are determined through outside influences. There are four different types of market structures. Two on opposite extremes, and two comfortably in the middle. On one end is perfect competition, which acts as a starting point in price and output determination. Pure competition is when a large number of firms sell a standardized product, entry and exit is very easy, and an individual firm cannot control the price. On the other extreme end is Pure monopoly.
