the official language being Quechua3. None of the Incan history is written down
though because they did not have a written language, unlike the Egyptians.4 In

After reading her study, I find myself wanting to research more on how the CCSS
is grading our students on a scale that doesn t factor in all the components and
sticking them on a scale that is only predetermined by assumption. To assume that
a student doesn t understand the material simply because they wrote a short
sentence baffles me. I also disagree with the fact that the CCSS/ ELA do not allow
any room for error. With no room for error they are expecting students to be on

Issues exist within the models of learning due to the integration of technology

engineering applications. In this experiment, the hardness of 3 steel alloys with

Writer and composer, Aaron Copland, in his book, How We Listen, divides listening
into three planes: the sensuous, the expressive and the sheerly musical. Copland
argues throughout the work that [listeners] can deepen [their] understanding of music
only by being a more conscious and aware listener. (Copland, 15) Copland s strategy
of breaking the text up with the three planes of listening helps the reader understand
his message in a more complete way.

On this plane, a listener is only experiencing the music for the enjoyment of listening

I understand and appreciate the three planes of listening that Copland had broken
up for his readers, but the tone and manner in which some of the planes were
discussed did not resonate well while I was reading this. Throughout almost all of
the chapter, Copland s tone was harsh and condescending towards the reader, as if he
knew absolutely everything about music and the reader knew nothing. I am also not
sure what it takes to be a qualified music lover, (Copland, 8) but I am sure that it is
not much.
I think for a majority of my experiences with music I fall somewhere between the
sensuous and expressive planes, often flowing between the two of them. My biggest
disagreement with Copland s claim comes from his assertions about people that listen

Dahmer s first victim started off as a fantasy, however it later became a reality.
Dahmer s need to find fulfillment and pleasure lead to act out his fantasy. Dahmer
s need to control was his motive. The concept of sexual preference and race, didn t
matter, only attractiveness. The dismemberment of the bodies and eating the flesh
and internal organs of other human beings felt it gave him a permanent part of
them and doing so gave a sexual satisfaction. Thus, leading the urges to spiral out
of control. The idea of killing was not the main objective it was just the means he
had to take to obtain fundamental control. The lack of control of his environment as
a child got mixed with the control of his sexuality. The only way he could gain
power to influence or direct people s behavior was by fulling those fantasies.
From arguing, genetics, to medications during the pregnancy Dahmer s father felt
they had missed the signs, or maybe contribute to the acts that Jeff caused.
However, there were no signs that his parents missed, there was no outward show
of his fantasy s. In MSNBS, Dahmer stated I feel like it s wrong to shift the blame
on their parents, up bring, certain circumstances. I feel like it s a cop out. I take full
responsibility (MSNBS 26:37). Dahmer knew what he was doing and felt that his in
him and bottling or expressing his feeling would not have made a difference.
