Atticus Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of "Atticus" poses a unique set of challenges. While the
character of Atticus Finch is iconic, embodying principles of integrity and justice in Harper Lee's
"To Kill a Mockingbird," the difficulty lies in presenting a fresh perspective. Countless essays
have been penned about Atticus, exploring his role as a father, lawyer, and moral compass in the
racially charged setting of Maycomb.
To stand out in this sea of analyses, one must delve deep into the layers of Atticus's character,
navigating the intricacies of his beliefs, actions, and the impact he has on those around him. The
challenge lies not only in summarizing Atticus's qualities but in dissecting the nuances that make
him a timeless literary figure. It demands a delicate balance between providing a comprehensive
understanding of Atticus and offering a novel interpretation that engages the reader.
Furthermore, exploring Atticus's relevance in today's context adds another layer of complexity.
An effective essay would not only analyze Atticus within the narrative but also draw parallels to
contemporary society, showcasing the enduring significance of his character.
In conclusion, writing an essay on Atticus demands more than just a superficial exploration. It
requires a keen analytical eye, a nuanced understanding of literature, and the ability to weave
together themes from the novel with broader societal implications. Successfully navigating these
challenges ensures that the essay not only pays homage to Atticus Finch but also contributes to
the ongoing discourse surrounding his character.

Advantages Of Formal Education
Formal Education: something no one should have to do without
Formal education is a system of organized education with a set curriculum regarding
content, objectives, and methods, which is usually well structured. It involves
teachers, a student body, and a school. There is a program and there are laws in
place that teachers and students must abide by and student progress assessed at
various phases of learning in order to progress to the next stage. According to Nelson
Mandela Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the
world. Formal education has been implemented on a global scale and can therefore
be considered a language that is understood world wide, and allows nations to
interact with the purpose of selling and trading goods. Thus, it provides the answer
to poverty, sickness, war, and the economy of any given country If this is indeed the
case than it is the only answer for countries such as Burkina Faso.
Burkina Faso is a country that is often in a state of political upheaval and because of
this cannot take full advantage of a formal education system. The Burkinabe s are ...

and give them a sense national pride. Something that has been broken by colonization
and an unstable political environment. This is something the present government is
working to change by working together with organisations such as UNICEF,
reliefweb, World Food plan (2015) and other aid programs, to change existing
infrastructure, closing the gap on marginalized children and adults so that these
groups also have a chance at a good basic education, and food projects so that

Essay on Immanuel Kant
Immanuel Kant 1724 1804
Immanuel Kant was born on April 22, 1724 in Konigsberg, East Prussia. He was
the son of a saddler. At age 8, he entered the Collegium Fredericianum, a Latin
school, where he remained for 8 1/2 years and studied the classics. He then entered
the University of Konigsberg in 1740 to study philosophy, mathematics, and physics.
The death of his father halted his university career so he became a private tutor. In
1755, he returned to Konigsburg where he later resumed his studies. In 1756, he
received a degree and was made a lecturer, and in 1770 he became a professor.
Kant felt he had to adhere to a very strict schedule during his years as a professor. He
would get up shortly before five ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1798, the year following his retirement from the University, Kant published a
summary of his religious views. He died on February 12, 1804.
During his lifetime, Kant produced many writings. Scholars usually divide his
literary career into two periods: the Pre critical period and the Critical period.
During the Pre critical period, 1747 to 1781, he wrote many non fictional works and
criticisms. Some of them were quot;Thoughts on the True Estimation of Living
Forces quot;, quot;On Fire quot;, quot;A New Explanation of the First Principles of
Metaphysical Knowledge quot;, and quot;On the Forms and Principles of the
Sensible and Intelligible World quot;. From 1770 to 1780, he mainly worked on
preparing quot; The Critique of Pure Reason quot;.
The Critical period lasted from 1781 to 1794. During this period, he wrote quot; The
Critique of Pure Reason quot; in 1781, and quot;Foundation for the Metaphysics of
Ethics quot; in 1785. Following the critical works, Kant published quot;Critique of
Practical Reason quot;, quot;Critique of Judgment quot;, and quot;Religion within the
Limits of Mere Reason quot;.
Three main discussions of Kant are Duty, the Formula of the End, and the Kingdom
of Ethics. Kant feels that we act morally when we do our duty, however it is
important to distinguish between acting according to duty and acting from duty.
Acting according to duty is when someone else has imposed the duty. This is an
Independent And Non Executive Directors
They are relied upon to be independent from the administration and go about as the
trustees of shareholders. This infers that they are committed to be completely aware
of and question the conduct of organizations on relevant issues. пѓјThe concept of
independent directors can be traced to the developed economies of the West with
the United Kingdom and the U.S.A. sharing credit for its evolution during the
1950s even before legislation mandated the induction of independent directors to
ensure that corporate entities did not make depredations into the public interest
driven by the profit motive alone at the cost of other values. This is what gave rise
to the concept of Good Corporate Governance which again owes its origin to the
developed economies of the Western Hemisphere . In India, the concept of
independent directors was first introduced through voluntary guidelines issued by
the Confederation of Indian Industry ( CII ) . The Report suggested that any listed
company with a turnover of Rs. 100 crores and above should have professionally
competent, independent, non executive directors, who should constitute at least 30
per cent of the board if the chairman of the company is a non executive director or at
least 50 per cent of the board if the chairman and managing director is the same
person. This CII recommendation was later on incorporated in SEBI s Kumar
Mangalam Birla Committee Report. The Kumar Mangalam Birla Committee Report
recommendation led SEBI to include

Truancy in America
ABSTRACT:
Truancy is the first sign that a youngster is giving up and losing his or her way.
Research shows that students who become truant and eventually drop out of school
put themselves at a long term disadvantage in becoming productive citizens.
Dropouts are more likely to be on welfare or unemployed than high school graduates.
High truancy rates are also linked to high daytime burglary rates, vandalism, and
juvenile gang activity. In some cities, unexcused absences can number in the
thousands daily. Combating truancy is a way for communities to reach out quickly to
disaffected young people and help families struggling with rebellious teenagers. This

Kinder, Wakefield and Wilkin (1996) report on interviews with 160 children in Year
7 and above. For the children, the main causes of truancy and disruption are
described (in rank order) as:
The influence of friends and peers, who are seen encouraging truancy as a status
seeking activity or as a way of joining in or blending in, and sometimes teasing or
goading the child into truanting
Relationships with teachers, seen as lacking respect/fairness
The content and delivery of the curriculum, seen as lacking in relevance and stimulus
Family factors, either parental attitudes or family problems
Bullying; and
The classroom context, either because of teachers inability to control, or problems
arising from the child s own personality or learning abilities.
The authors note the preponderance of boys in their sample, perhaps reflecting the
gender bias of disaffected behavior , but their interviewees range from the
permanently excluded to those whose behavior or attendance was just beginning to
cause the school concern.
The views of professionals in schools and Education Welfare Services collected and
analyzed by Kinder, Harland, Wilkin and Wakefield (1995) also include personal
factors, family and community factors and school factors amongst the causes of
truancy. Individual factors included: lack of self esteem/social skills/confidence;
poor peer relations; lack of academic ability; special needs; and lack of
The Complex Processes Of Urban Development
The complex processes of urbanisation overarches and entails a set of social, cultural,
economic, political, environmental and technological functions that result in sprawl
and densities, proportional to core size and settlement. Further implicating the
extensive use of natural resources from fringes and rural spheres within citylimits to
be consumed and then later in turn converted into waste. Urban ecosystems are
therefore, complex multifaceted systems that require a burdensome amount of
natural resources input and negotiations for their adequate development. In urban
discourse, the lack of interdisciplinary and trans disciplinary interest partly due to an
absence of tools to which all disciplines can use to further incorporate ecological
theories to assessment and planning of urban centers. All these connections have been
made and academics have divided the complex concept into biophysical processes and
socioeconomic processes when examining cities in case studies. The urban ecology
theory and a closely related concept of urban metabolism can explain the technical
aspects of urban density and growth but human influences are not accounted for in
the assessment. However, human scholarship is a key component that shapes the
metabolic processes in urban ecologies and in turn alters the initial footprint.
By examining the historical context of urban ecology, the early stages and latter
results of the urban ecology theory being transformed from a multidisciplinary
concept into
Business Financing For Small Businesses Essay
Small Business Loans
Starting a business requires capital so as to run and steer the business to
profitability. There are many sources of financing tailored to meet the needs of start
ups and small businesses. Business financing usually varies depending on factors
such as source of funds and the size and type of business. The process of securing
funds can also be problematic for most start ups and small business because of the
unwillingness of most traditional banks to provide funds to small borrowers. Here are
some of the main non banking financing options for startups and small businesses:
Venture capitalists most venture capitalists are focused on specific growth
industries. For this reason, small businesses that are making money can tap into
this form of financing to expand their businesses into the next phase of growth.
Besides capital financing, venture capitalist also provide crucial business insights
and leads to business owners. For example, a business owner can be advised if the
product or service he or she wants to sell will be a success or failure. Most venture
capitalist who lend money to small businesses offer short term to mid term
borrowing of between 3 to 5 years.
Grants startups that are keen on research can apply for grants from governments and
willing investors. However, grant recipients must meet all the laid down
developmental and research goals. In most cases, the ideas advanced by such entities
must be viable to move to the next phase of
American Culture In The Namesake, By Jhumpa Lahiri
Culture is not just about race, family background, and inheritance. It is bigger than
that. Characters and actor s choice are significant to present this. Characters used
in the book and movie relates. When I was reading the book, I had an idea of how
Ashima, Gogol, Ashoke looks. Most of those ideas were true. I thought Gogol
would be better looking and darker shade skin. Ashima is exactly what I thought
she would look like. Ashoke is shown as this perfect husband, dad a provider. A lot
of Gogol s character is understood as it foreshadows when Gogol was six months
old and during his Rice Ceremony, Gogol had to choose between a dollar, a pen, and
dirt. Each represents a different profession in the future. As it suggests to the future,
Gogol doesn t choose none of them and cries. We see the same thing when he is an
adult, he chooses to embrace the culturehe grew up in, American Culture even thought
he struggled to respect both cultures that are polar opposites of each other.
The novel The Namesake written by Jhumpa Lahiri writes about the struggle and
hardships of a Bengali couple who immigrate to the US from India to create a
lifestyle outside of everything they have known all their lives. The story begins as
Ashoke marries Ashima and brings her to the Massachusetts. Their first child s name
is Gogol, which they didn t intend on naming initially but because of different
mistakes, Gogol has officially become his name. This book/film gave a pleasant
insight into identity
Firefighter Career

one; but we who know the work which the fireman has to do believe that his is a

The use of phrase keywords also contributes to number of bookings like the phrase
DC to France Sale which have the highest conversion rate compare to others.
Different with Google, Yahoo has moderately earned more income from the words
of city such as Florence, Paris and Rome. This may be resulted from the difference
search methods that Yahoo mainly focuses on web contents keywords. Overture
more likely to gain revenue in words that relate with cities in eastern part of Europe
like Athens, Tunis, Amman. Overture loses money on broad unspecific words.
Thus, Overture should focus on the exact keywords which have connection with
flight and travel to eastern part of Europe. MSN US and MSN Global costs mainly
derived from phrase keywords except Air France Brand keywords. For example,
phrase keyword of travel to France generates moderate number of 346 clicks, but
none of the clicks succeed in sales conversion. Another example is flights to Paris ,
other publishers succeed in booking of positive net revenue with the keywords,
while MSN US and MSN Global lose money. * Broad and focus keyword Broad
keyword usually gains many clicks from the campaigns. By analyzing publishers
performance data, we concluded that Yahoo US, Overture Global, MSN US and
MSN Global are publishers that have strength in broad campaign keywords. Number
of clicks for broad keywords represents minimum 90% of total clicks
What Is The Relationship In The Diary Of Anne Frank
Some parents love and cherish their children, but don t understand them. Most do
what they think is best for their kids, and aim to be admired by their children, but
Mr. Frank is different; he and Anne have a special bond that will last a lifetime. In
the play, The Diary of Anne Frank, by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett, the
Franks, the Van Daans, and Mr. Dussel go into hiding during Holocaust because Jews
are being persecuted more and more in Germany. They are sent to concentration
camps to die, and are suffering other versions of torture. Mr. Frank is Anne s
father, the man in charge of the annex, and he is a leader and someone who always
looks out for others. Mr. Frank understands Anne is a teenage girl that need her
father the listen to her. First of all, Mr. Frank understands Anne because he grants
her a gift she desires, a diary. The diary is a major symbolism to display how much
Mr. Frank understands her: all she wants is a dairy to map and write down her
thought. For example, in the play, Mr. Frank announced Anne, There are no walls,
there are no bolts, no locks that anyone can put on your mind (379). Mr. Frank knows
Anne so well, that he perceived that she would go insane without talking or moving,

Frank understands Anne because he gave her the pictures (movie stars). Even
though they could take so little into the annex Mr. Frank realized that Anne would

Essay on Sacrifices in Susan Glaspell s Trifles
Sacrifices in Trifles
When a woman marries she is expected to give up her family, her last name, and
her virginity. In other words she is expected to give up the life she knew. Susan
Glaspell s play Trifles tells the story of a woman that gave up her all to please society
and her husband. The story examines a woman who sacrificed her tranquility, her
talents, and her individuality. In the end, the woman even gave up her freedom.
A person s home should be more than a place to shelter them from the elements. It
should be a place where one could express him/her self freely and not have to worry

In modern times one would substitute the expression hard man with something along
the line of jerk . Mr. Wright was a jerk and as a result of that he made the lives of
everyone one around him miserable. Who want to be miserable? No one does. That
is why no one liked to visit. I could ve come. I stayed away because it weren t

because it s down in a hollow and you don t see the road. I dunno what it is, but it s a

the effects are that it deprives them at what they are good at. As a result of that it
makes them feel like they are worthless and not good at anything. That is what Mr.

Comparing Types Of Business Ownership
Comparing Types of Businesses
Name: Sabrina BhinderDate: September 10th, 2014
In the space below, explain each of the following terms and provide an example.
Forms of business ownership (5K marks)
1.Sole proprietorship
A business that is just owned by only one person, who receives all the profit for
everything. Example of a sole proprietorship can be a hairdresser that buys a chair
for their business and can get customers directly for them.
2.Partnership
When a business contains more than one owner it is a partnership as they share all
responsibilities, profits and losses. Example of a partnership could be Pink and
Victoria s secret, since they are like the same company but different brands, and they
share all profits and losses.
3.Corporation
Corporation is a type of business, which is already REGISTERED as a public owned
company but it is also recognized as a separate entity from its owners. Example of
corporation is Best Buy.
4.Cooperative
People who use the goods and service offered by their own business. Example of
cooperative is dairy farms.
Different types of businesses (10K marks)

Magnesium ribbon was reacted with Hydrochloric acid in three different experiments
to determine the charge on a metal ion. After running multiple tests in the three
different procedures, the Crystallization method proved to be the best method for
determining the charge of the metal ion by using mole to mole ratio.
Introduction
The objective of the Get Charged Up lab was to determine the charge on a metal ion
reacting with HCl by determine the mole ratio in a reaction by determining the
amount of excess reactant, amount of product, and amount of hydrogen gas produced
as well as finding the best research method to determine the charge.

About 80 mL of HCl was obtained and mixed with phenolphthalein. Using a
LabQuest unit and Gas Pressure Sensor kit, the HCl mixture was added to the
flask with the magnesium ribbon and allowed to react. When reaction was
complete, the change of temperature and gas was recorded. This procedure was
repeated for different masses of magnesium ribbon (masses found on page 89 of the
lab manual). After the completed procedure, moles of Hв‚‚ produced in each trial
were calculated. (The actual procedure can be found on pages 87 89 of the lab
manual)
After each procedure, a graph was created for each set of data to compare and
contrast results.
It should be noted that not all supplies are listed here as exactly what is needed to
perform each method but a complete list can be found in the lab manual preceding
each experiment.
Pay extreme caution to the handling of HCl as it can cause acid burns on your skin
and remove color from your clothing. Should you get any on you or your clothes,
rinse with soap and water. Also, when using flask with thermocouple, it will be top
heavy and can easily topple over and break. A final precaution, hydrogen gas is being
produced during the gas law method and therefore no open flames in the laboratory
during that portion of the experiment.

U.s. National Security Agency
Imagine a world where you are being watched by the government all the time. This
sounds similar to the classical dystopian novel 1984, where Big Brother invades the
private lives of its citizens including, the protagonist, Winston. Even though our
society is not as invasive we have our own big brother, the NSA. Although it protects
U.S. national security, the government should discontinue the surveillance done by
the NSA because it is detrimental the U.S. economy the Constitution and the citizens
of the U.S.
The National Security Agency, NSA, is an intelligence organization of the United
States government, responsible for global monitoring, collection and processing of
information and data for foreign intelligence and counterintelligence. In 2013,
whistleblower Edward Snowden leaked documents revealing the lengths of the
National Security Agency s surveillance on the United States citizens. This caused
mass debate of privacy vs. security over the agency s surveillance. Some major
arguments for and against the NSA surveillance have involved the sections of the
Constitution. These include : The Fourth Amendment which states The right of the
people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against
unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall
issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly
describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized and

DOI: 3/31/2016. Patient is a 58 year old male driver who sustained injury when he
was hit by a vehicle. Per OMNI, he was diagnosed with right knee sprain/contusion.
MRI of the knee dated 7/15/16 revealed no meniscal tear, ligament rupture, or other
acute injury.
Based on the progress report dated 08/17/16, the patient continues to have right knee
pain without significant improvement, however, he does get some substantial relief
when he wears a right knee brace. The medications give him functional improvement
and pain relief.
On examination of the right knee, there is tenderness to the medial/lateral joint lines
and patellofemoral facet. Range of motion (ROM) is 0 135 degrees.

The correlation method is based upon the fact that a particular mode can be
infrared active only if its symmetry species of vibration is same as that of at least
one of the dipole moment or equivalent of a vector like translation. Similarly Raman
activity for a particular mode is possible if its symmetry species of vibration is same
as that of at least one component or combination of polarizability tensor О±.
To start with the correlation method, the crystallographic information of the
compound has to be known exactly and this crystallographic information is obtained
from the international tables for X ray crystallography [72]. Much important
information is gathered from irreducible representation of the crystal as it allows

Some of the consequences resulting from the correlation between site symmetry,
molecular symmetry and factor group symmetry are being described below.
1.A molecular mode can t said to be active in a crystal if it is forbidden by the site
symmetry.
2.If a mode is active in a crystal allowed by the site group symmetry, it will certainly
give at least one active component under the factor group selection rules.
3.A degenerate vibration under the site group symmetry holds its degeneracy when
analyzed according to correlation method.
To apply the correlation method, one must be familiar with some important terms as
they play main role in the calculations of correlation method and are given below
with a brief illustration.
1.tОі represents the number of translations in a site species Оі and may have the
value in between from 0 to 3 depending upon the number of translations contained in
the site species Оі. tОі takes the value zero, one, two or three if none, one, two or
three translations containing in the site species Оі respectively. The information
regarding the number of translations can be easily taken from the character table of
the point group of the compound under study.
2.fОі represents the degree of vibrational freedom present in each site species Оі for
an equivalent set of atoms, ions or molecules and can be calculated with the help of
tОі by the relation fОі = n.tОі
Here n is number of equivalent atoms, ions or molecules in the site

It would have been uncommon for teenagers to commit these types of crimes in the
past, but their generation is growing up with computers and skills. Criminals range
from teens, adults, to terrorist organizations, and can carry out crimes with the
anonymity and the help of computers. Businesses are also putting vast amounts of
critical information on computers and most of our financial transactions are
conducted online.
The criminal no longer has the requirement to be in the geographic location in
order to commit the crime. The profile of a cyber criminal can be a disgruntled
employee, business rival, professional hacker, political activist, or even a family
member of an employee. We at Firion also understand that anyone can be a victim,
but the most vulnerable are the inexperienced, desperate, or greedy; so we do our
best to identify any problems as soon as possible. Criminals can act alone or find help
online to commit their crimes. Criminals often meet online with other criminals to
share methods, and collaborate on future crimes.
Attack Methods and Firion Vulnerabilities Denial of service, spyware, hacking, virus
dissemination, fraud, phishing, spoofing, and extortion are just some of the cyber
crimes that we at Firion try to protect against (Ciampa, 2010). With all our efforts,

Rivalry Of Emirates Airlines
There is no use denying the fact that modern world belongs to giant international
corporations which try to spread their influence and increase the level of their
incomes. Certainly, money and organizations which produce them have always been
important for the functioning of society. Since the creation of money people became
dependant on this tool, though, in modern world the situation is unique. Never in the
history money the issue of money was so topical and important and never
corporations, which deal with them, had such a great power. Though, it is obvious
that great number of corporations which want to become beneficial and obtain great
incomes lead to the appearance of rivalry. Trying to win it, companies perform

nowadays it is one of the greatest international carriers, and the seventh largest airline

The House on Mango Street, is written by Sandra Cisneros. Sandra Cisneros was
born and grew up in Chicago. She was raised by her mother and father who were
both of Mexican descent. She grew up in a relatively large family; she was the
third child out of seven children. Cisneros childhood consisted of her growing up in
one of Chicago s Puerto Rican neighborhoods. As a child she also traveled back and
forth to Mexico with her family. Understanding Cisneros background is important for
understanding the novelbecause the main character in the novel, Esperanza, shares

The family s new home is located in the center of a crowded Latino neighborhood
in Chicago, also very similar to the up bringing of Cisneros. Chicago is important
to the setting of the story and to understanding the underlining meanings, because
Chicago is a city where many of the poor areas are racially segregated. As soon as
she arriving to her new home Esperanza promises herself that she will someday
leave Mango Street and have a house all her own, a house which resembles the
American dream, white fence, and huge yard. During the year covered in the novel
Esperanza matures significantly, both in a sexual and emotional manner. The novel
as it is broken into chapters, short stories, almost charts and illustrates her life as
she makes friends, develops her first crush, and endures sexual assault. The
charting of Esperanza life is mainly done through the stories of many of Esperanza
s neighbors. The stories giving a full picture of the neighborhood and the life which
Esperanza is living on a day to day basis. It s interesting because many of the stories,
specially of the women in Esperanza s neighborhood, allows the reader to assume
that the lives of these women, which include abuse, male dominance, and lack of
freedom are all possible outcomes and paths of Esperanza s future. After moving to
the house, Esperanza quickly becomes friends with Lucy and Rachel, two girls
whom are also Mexican American and who live only across the street from her. Lucy,

Love And Happiness In The Great Gatsby
Love and tragedy has been a tale as old as time and is definitely not going
anywhere. No matter what year it is, people are always searching for happiness and
sometimes go about their motives the wrong way and ends up in a disastrous fate. In
Fitzgerald s The Great Gatsby it is apparent that the goal was money and fame with
loose morals. Wharton s Ethan Fromewas before World War 1 and when America
was still kept to the classic standards of house, family, and farm. Both main
characters lived in completely different worlds, but the end goal was the same; love
and happiness. The novels tell its readers that people are willing to push their limits
and morals to achieve their idea of perfect love and perfect happiness without
thinking of what the consequences may be.
Jay Gatsby had money, a mansion on West Egg, and the whole city talking about
him. However the only thing that could satisfy him was his love, Daisy. She was
married to the wealthy Tom Buchanan. Tom tried to gain his happiness with his
mistress Myrtle, whom he regularly visited. Of course in The Roaring 20 s
multiple people who had fame and money would look for something more to fulfill
their lives. Jay Gatsby was one who had ambitions and dreams of a lavish
lifestyle. He got cash quick in unlawful ways. Once he did so, he did everything he
could to impress Daisy and prove his love to her. Gatsby bought that house so that
Daisy would be just across the bay. (The Great Gatsby p.63). He threw large parties

Rapid Critical Appraisal
Was it really rapid or was it more of a laborious process? In my opinion, the rapid
critical appraisal (RCA) process was not rapid. It was a process requiring
considerable effort and time. Though tedious, the RCA process helped me to stay
focused, analyze in depth information about the studies, and select most relevant
articles that would be beneficial in answering the PICOT question and appropriate
for my evidence based practice(EBP) proposal. According to Melnyk Fineout
Overholt (2015), RCA is one of the key components to the evidence based practice
process. It helps to evaluate the validity, reliability, and applicability of a research
article. Did reading the abstract help you make quick decisions about including or
excluding the study? Reading the abstract was absolutely a helpful strategy in sifting
through the articles. It helped me to make quick decisions about including or
excluding the study. Abstract is the reflection of the article as it provides an idea
about what to expect in a research article. It provides an overall summary of the
components of the article and outlines the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Wright Brothers Impact On Society

mankind till this day. The well known Wright Brothers are the ones that you should
be thanking for being where we are. The Wright Brothers have opened up numerous
doors to technology and revolutionized transportation completely. By influencing
widespread tourism, stabilizing economy, and forming a better way for trade and
commerce, the Wright Brothers have done more than anyone by bringing people

have created a portal to widespread tourism throughout the world. Back in the 1930

planes was faster than boats and still is today and is currently used by many today
such as military and regular citizens. Next the Wright Brothers helped stabilize the
economy. Trade and production rates skyrocketed, which many airplanes carry

people are gonna be paying to ship and trade things across land and water. Lastly
the Wright Brothers impacted trade and commerce with the airplane. People are
able to get ahold of things without the building of bridges or roads (Morris). Today
many people buy things online off of sites such as Amazon and they are usually

Climatic Elements Of Osamu Shashin
Fast forward to 1960 s and we have a figure who revolutionized manga and made it
what modern manga is today. This figure was named Osamu Tezuka. Before him,
manga was drawn like a play, with characters entering the left stage and the right
stage. Tezuka, revolutionized this by taking his experiences from watching German
and French movies, and adding a cinematic element to his manga, making it more
movie like and dynamic. He put in more panels and more pages to create dynamic
movements and expressions. He wanted to put more emotion into his works. He
wanted his manga to portray more than just laughs, but wanted them to convey
feelings of sadness, anger and hatred (Thorn, Matt). One of his most famous works
Astro Boy (1952) was one of the first manga to be turned into anime. It first aired in
1963. From manga, anime borrowed most of the climatic elements that Tezuka put
into his manga (Zagzoug, Marwah).

Solitary Confinement, By F. Scott Fitzgerald
The documentary, Solitary Confinement, really brings to light the issues that
surround this old form of punishment. These tactics were used in the past, and then
were eventually regarded as being cruel and inhumane. Somehow, the idea of
solitary confinement has returned and is respected among many people. I believe
that there are some people who do need to be put in solitary confinement and some
who shouldn t have to go through that psychological pain. The movie did shine some
perspective on to me, as i had not nearly any clue as to what really went down behind
those walls.
First of all, at Colorado State Penitentiary, they call it administrative segregation
rather than solitary confinement. This is because their goal is supposedly, just to cut
them off from physical contact until they are determined to be safe around other
people. The feelings projected by the men being interviewed in the documentary tie
in with the feelings that Stanley Tookie Williams expressed in his book, Life in Prison
. All of the inmates, including Stanley, acknowledged that solitary confinement, or
the hole, causes people to go crazy. Stanley complained of the small cells and how it
made many men go stir crazy. In the film, they showed exactly how small the cells are
and the limited room for activity that the inmates have. The images in the
documentary of the men getting strip searched further supported Stanley s statements
regarding the embarrassment of strip searches. It showed one of the men
Middle School And High School
Middle school and high school were very different for me. Both schools lack
diversity and consisted of people just like me, but in middle school everyone s
identity were practically the same. I attended Catholic school until high school and
had all white classes until then too. Throughout middle school I was a rather
mischievous student who did not place academics too highly on my list of
priorities, so I was often making the teacher s job much harder than it needed to be.
If not for how involved my family and I were with the church and the school my in
class experience would not have been as pleasant. The only way that we ever
learned about our own identity was through religion classes and through church so
the fact that the entire school probably had less than five students of ethnicity in a
school with grade 3 8 in it was never addressed. In middle schoolalmost everyone was
middle classor at least were not struggling like some of the families in more urban
areas. If a family did begin to struggle enough financially they simply went to
another school because the cost of Catholic school was no longer a luxury that they
could afford. So the school not only consisted of people with the same race but also
eliminated people that were not from the same economic background. In high school
the majority of students were white as that is 92% of the student body and I was not
a minority in anyways but it was much different due to how extreme my middle
school experience was in

Truth In R. K. Sekhar s Like The Sun
Truth is Key
Would you be able to tell the absolute truth and nothing but the truth for a whole day
to everyone you see? It would be very difficult, just think of all the possible
consequences that would soon follow. The character Sekhar in the story Like the Sun
by R. K. Narayan had to. He took on the challenge of telling people close to him
exactly what he thought about something and had to face the consequences for
telling them. In this story, the author presented two similar themes. It is important to
be honest no matter what the consequence and that holding back some of the truth
may be better for you and the other person in the long run however telling the truth
will make them trust you more and won t get you into as much trouble.

K. Narayan believes that holding back some of the truth may be better for you and
the other person in the long run however telling the truth will make them trust you
more and won t get you into as much trouble. For example, the main character says
and thinks, Yes, sir, Sekhar said, feeling that sitting up all night with a hundred test
papers was a small price to pay for the luxury of practicing truth (84). He feels that
his consequence for telling the truth was less impactful than it could have been.
The quote relates to the theme because he didn t get into as much trouble as he
might have by lying. Another example is when the author wrote, Truth, he
reflected, required as much strength to give as to receive (83). This means that you
need more strength to say the truth than you do to have it told to you. The quote is
important to the story because it lets the reader know how hard it was to tell the
truth for once rather than to receive it. The last example of the theme is when
Narayan wrote, Truth, Sekhar reflected, is like the sun. I suppose no human being
can ever look it straight in the face without blinking or being dazed (81). Someone
can t take the truth without having some sort of hurt or pain. This quote relates to
the theme and is important to the story because it explains the title in a couple of
sentences. It may be easier to hold back some of the truth from someone but in the
end it is always better to be honest and it might
Up To 1775 Essay
Economics Up to 1775* Cultivation of Tobacco was the basis of America s early
economy; shortly after, later economy weaved and meshed with the British Empire
s on heavily voluminous levels, and their relationship was strongly based on
various Acts placed upon the Colonies. After acquiring seeds from Trinidadian
colonies, John Rolfe s plantation of the tobacco plant caused the first real
economic presence by selling them to European countries. The Tobacco plant was
the first true cash crop of America, imports from their mother country England
were reaching to about half a million pounds per year. The Navigation Acts of 1651
prohibited any foreign ships, with an emphasis on the Dutch, into British Colonies
in relation to trade. The British Kingdom believed that for America to be a stable
country, their exports should outnumber their imports. The Kingdom was just
recovering from a brutal recession, and they were determined to make sure that
their rivals, the Dutch, be absent of a trading relation with the Colonies. The
Molasses Act of 1733 was one of the first Acts that ironically brought in a boom of
smuggling into the colonies. It issued that any molasses imported from any country
other than the British Colonies would have a six pence per gallon tax placed upon
it. This act was created mainly due to the urging of large plantation owners in the
British West Indies. The Currency Act of 1751 blocked the production of paper
money by New England colonies. This was to
GM Ignition Switch Disposal
I think the most important thing about products companies sell to consumers is the
quality and safety of the product. Consumers should receive a product that is free
from harm or risk. Companies should be held liable if they know that there is some
risk to the product but do not disclose it to the consumer.
We all know about the GM ignition switch recall. During the pre production
development of this switch, GM had experienced problems and redesigned the switch.
GM was still experiencing the same issue with the ignition switch. They continue to
put the same switch in the vehicles they were building. Engineers from GM did
notice the issue and reported it. They gave upper management options on how they
could fix the problems, but it options were rejected due to cost. GM blamed the issue
on keychains being too heavy. This was unethical of GM and caused many deaths and
injuries due to their neglect. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Dutch Republic
Introduction The Dutch republic came to be when part of the Netherlands separated
from Spanish rule in 1579 and gained international recognition in 1648. It was
characterized by its high population density (which is a continuity to this day), and its
early, high level of urbanization. From the 16th to 18th centuries, the Dutch rose to
power comparable to even Britain and France. This was also the period of time when
world trade flourished and linked continents, acquiring the name global trade. In fact,
the Dutch republic experienced such growth and improvement that the 17th century
was the Dutch golden age. During the golden age, trade, military, art, and science
flourished. This all led to a domination in trade, production of ships, etc.
Western Europe After the split of the Roman Empire, the western half fell as the east
prospered. Then in the medieval period, the catholic western European states emerged
stronger than ever, causing the distinction between roman catholic/protestant vs
eastern orthodox in Europe. Western Europe was made up of competitive states that
came to play major roles. The Dutch republic managed to become largely influential
and powerful through trade. As previously mentioned, competitiveness was and still
is a characteristic of Western Europe. Since the Dutch focused on ship building to
support the trade they were beginning to be a part of.
Through this time period emerged the Columbian exchange and some European

harmony, exemplifying verse and chorus form. Robert Plant s vocal mix set can be
detected after the Pink carnation and a pick up truck line. From that point he
accompanies Jimmy Page s delightful fortissimo solo adding, I don t care what
they say, I love you anyway, I ll drive you wild . Like most of these Polar mixes,
instead of fading out; the homophonic track grinds to a halt with a tinkling of John
Paul Jones electric piano played mezzo forte.
The version of Fool In The Rain, played in major key show this composition nearing
its completed verse and chorus mix. Some of the studio banter retained from Polar
demonstrates the fun atmosphere that the four were working in. The beginning of
Fool In The Rain, is forte, after Page counts in two, three Plant wades in with a
quatro! giving this song its allegretto quadruple meter. This mix
Multi-Genre Project
For my multi genre project, I chose the topic of refugee children in Syria. I chose
this topic because I think every person deserves an equal life and each person
should be given the same chances. We were created in this world for a specific
reason, and there are so many children who don t have the opportunity to show the
world who they truly are.
Throughout my research for this project I have found several sites. Some of the sites
I have found contain numerous amounts of information, though many don t have the
correct information that I am looking for in relation to my topic. Many of the
articles I have read are interviews of adults who grew up as a refugee children. In my
opinion, I think that the interviews are the most interesting, however it does not give
me as much information as I am looking for.
To solve the problem of not finding as much detailed information, I ... Show more

Having reference sources that I could trust helped significantly. I know that I can
rely on those few sources, when ever I need information. I also can go back to them
and check my work.
Overall I think that researching my topic is not impossible, but it is most definitely
not easy. The most challenging part so far has been finding websites that take in
consideration both opposing sides of refugees. I also had difficulty finding a book
that matched up with just my topic. Many of the books I came across, would
mention refugee children, though it would be in Africa or, it would be about adult
refugees in Syria.
To finish my project, I will have to continue learning about my topic as I complete
each part of my assignment. I need to mainly focus on my persuasive essay and focus
on the layout of it. In order to finish my Multi Genre research project, I will need to
manage my time wisely and work with a

in 2004 the dove company suffered from low sales, and corrupted crowd wanting
shallow over exaggerated beauty, dominated by ignorance, of what real beauty is
all about, so they wanted to reshape the definition of beauty, from a stereotype of
what a woman s look should be, to what real beauty is all about. Instead of
following the market, for standards in beauty traits, like full lips, small nose, wide
eyes, thin anatomy, to change these concepts into something entirely different, a
whole new perspective of beauty definition coming from being naturally beautiful,
like having freckles, being overweight, having wrinkles, accepting the differences

women have steady incomes, and can pay for products without
Breaking Social Norms Essay
Social norms are actions and behaviors that are recognized as acceptable amongst
society. Personally, I abide to most social norms because it provides me sense of
comfort and belonging. To break a social norm would probably make anyone feel
like an outsider and the need to feel accepted is what most likely drives us to
conform to social norms. In order to test how social norms affect myself and other
around me, I decided to completely step outside of my comfort zone and break an
imperative hygienic social norm; brushing ones teeth.
While brushing your teeth is crucial to one s hygiene, it s also a courtesy to others
and is considered to be a social norm for many reasons. Humans, specifically
Americans, tend to value oral health to the highest degree because our
communication between one and other revolves around the mouth. Not brushing
your teeth can result in bad breath, tooth decay and gum disease. While it may seem
like these complications only affect those who choose not to brush their teeth, it
doesn t. The majority of Americans find it rude, let alone disgusting, when they are
talking to someone who has neglected to clean their teeth and can relate to holding
their breath in attempt to not to smell someone s rancid breath. Many people also find
it uncomfortable when looking at someone s rotten, food filled teeth in conversation.
All in all, neglecting to brush ones teeth can result in a multitude of undesirable
issues that not only affects themselves, but everyone
Stan Witty Biography Essay
Love what you do and do what you love. Ray Bradbury. Stan Witty, my grandfather,
was an extremely determined man. But he was always changing what he was
doing. Just as he was getting further in one thing, he would get bored and want to
try something new, from selling candy to logging. Stan was always a very creative
man, and he was also very handy as well. He would always find ways to fix
something himself instead of paying someone to do it for him. He had a very strong
work ethic and did what it took to pursue his interests and passion.
Stan was born on November 23, 1937 in La Grande, Oregon. Stan s childhood was
far from perfect. His hard life started when his father died when he was only five
years old. He loved his Mom, but it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He tried a variety of jobs throughout his working life. From his start as a young man
milking cows, he also tried real estate, selling candy, logging, managing businesses,
and much more. He owned a large piece of land and just as he would have started
to make a profit from it, he sold it. He left this particular job because he wanted to
pursue something else. This really shows his passion for pursuing his varied interests
even if it involved challenging himself.
He persevered through everything, supporting a family of a wife and seven children.
When Dianne was giving birth to my father, Lawrence Witty, the youngest of the
seven, Stan s home caught fire and burned to the ground. Stan used this as an
opportunity to build a new home specially designed for his growing family. Stan
continued to work hard and persevere through this major challenge in his life, and
ended up with a great new home on Green Mountain in Kalama, Washington.
John F. Kennedy was assassinated during Stan s lifetime. Because Stan was highly
patriotic and loved Kennedy, his death had a big impact on him. With shops and
stores closed and everyone glued to their TVs, Stan was just as saddened at the

Comparing The Novel Out, Out And Disabled
Compare the ways in which the writers create sympathy in Out, Out and Disabled
In the poems, Robert Frost and Wilfred Owen both create sympathy for the
characters through different ways. In Disabled , Owen paints a vivid, moving
picture of a soldier who has been injured in World War One and lost his legs and an
arm. Wilfred Owen himself took part in the war, consequently witnessing first
hand many young men whose lives were similarly destroyed. In the poem, Out,
Out , Robert Frost shows the fragility of life in two ways. Firstly alluding to
Shakespeare s metaphor in Macbeth s soliloquy Out, out, brief candle , which
informs the reader that life is very short and fragile. Moreover, Frost looks at the
themes of sudden death and child labour to help to make this a very sad and
shocking poem. The poem reflects the tragedy of the accidental death of a child
doing a man s job. Frost s description of setting, imagery, and tone create a moving
poem with a horrifying ending that leaves the reader feeling despaired at the
bleakness of the situation and quite shocked.
Even in the structure of the poem, Wilfred Owen shows us a compassionate portrait
of loss by switching between and comparing the soldier s experiences before and
after war time, and the related memories and emotions, for instance:
And girls glanced lovelier as the air grew dim
In old times, before he threw away his knees .
This example shows the constant comparison and reminder of the soldier s loss
Literary Criticism Of Literature And Literature
Literature has no set definition, mainly because throughout history writers, as well
as literary historians have failed to construct an agreeable definition (Bressler 12).
When one thinks of literature, he or she should think of literary criticism different
critical perspectives. Literary criticism requires readers to analyze literary texts
with knowledge of theories. Thus, the next time one reads a text, he or she should
first identify the theory that he or she plans to use. The theories represent a set of
critical lens that one will use to analyze the text critically. For instance, this paper
will focus on the New Criticism theory; it is a theory that requires readers to focus
entirely on the text itself. Readers do not need to focus on... Show more content on

From a New Critic perspective, when analyzing a poem, it is pivotal for readers to
pay close attention to the poem s structure and form, especially since it can help him
or her understand the poem s overall meaning.
In life, human beings will encounter many challenging obstacles throughout his or
her long and stressful journey here on earth, especially since success is the
ultimate goal that he or she wishes to achieve. In the first quatrain of Angelou s
poem, a simile is depicted: You may trod me in the very dirt / But still, like dust, I
ll rise (3 4). Here, it is evident that Angelou wants readers to realize that life will
step on he or she as if him or her is a pile of dirt; however, if he or she is determined
to overcome his or her challenges, he or she will rise just like dust. The simile
depicted in quatrain one, forces readers, from a New Critic viewpoint, to realize that
the essential meaning of Angelou s poem lies within each line of the poem objective
meaning.
Furthermore, in life, human beings will encounter different individuals exposure to
diversity. Human beings learn from one another; however, certain people tend to
encounter human beings who are miserable with his or her life. In fact, people
who feel dejected tend to not motivate others to achieve his or her lifelong goals
this is portrayed in quatrain six of Angelou s poem: You may kill me with your
hatefulness, / But still, like air, I ll rise (23 24). Here, Angelou uses a
Analysis Of Queer Dance Clubs
In fact, Paul Gilroy s (2010) concept of the moral economy can also be applied to
the phenomenon of consuming music in queer dance clubs. In other words, the
digital re ordering music is a commodity, which is designed to meet the favor of its
listeners. So, to encourage clubbers to feel they belong to the sphere is the basic
principle of promotion. For example, the tailored remix for gay people in the gay
club is the motivation that promotes this group to pay for it, which corporates with
the clubber social experience. Besides, consuming the remix in the gay club is an
emotional choice that creates the moral freedom to queer people. The remix music is
tailored for this community, to produce the sense of belonging. The atmosphere

J.P. Morgan Essay
J.P. Morgan
When people talk about J.P. Morgan, they often refer to one man. The J.P. Morgan
dynasty was in fact a combined effort of three generations of Morgans. In 1838,
American businessman George Peabody opened the London merchant banking firm
that would establish the roots of the House of Morgan. In 1854, Junius S. Morgan
became the partner of George Peabody and eventually took over the firm in 1864,
renaming it J.S. Morgan amp; Co. At the age of twenty four, J. Pierpont Morgan
inherited his father s business, renamed the business to J.P. Morgan amp; Co., and
made a point to consolidate the firm s American and European interests. Under
Pierpont s authority, J.P. Morgan... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Including two world wars, J.P. Morgan Jr. also led the company through the great
depression. In an appearance before Congress in 1933, J.P. Morgan Jr. defined a
business philosophy for his firm: quot;At all times the idea of doing not only first
class business, and that in a first class way, has been before our minds. We have
never been satisfied with simply keeping within the law, but have constantly sought to
act that we may fully observe the professional code, and so maintain the credit and
representation which has been handed down to us from our predecessors in the firm.
quot;
A significant bill in congress was the Banking Act of 1933, a.k.a. Glass Steagall. It
was this act, which separated commercial and investment banking, that also divided
the House of Morgan. As a result, Harry Morgan, one of Jack Morgan s sons, along
with two Morgan partners and about 25 employees left to form the investment bank
Morgan Stanley.
In 1943, when Jack Morgan died, Thomas Lamont became the chairman of the
company. This marked the first time since 1864 that a Morgan had not managed the
firm.
One of the contributing factors to the success of J.P. Morgan was its financial
involvements in military events of the past. J.P. Morgan established its position as a
future world power in 1870 when it extended a ten million pound loan to the French
government during the Franco Prussian
How Did Italy Influence The Renaissance
During the years of 1330 1550, the Italian Renaissance flourished in many aspects of
different technologies such as painting, sculpture, and architecture from all over
Italy, but a few of these accomplishments derived from the cities of Florence, Venice
and Genoa. In the French language, renaissance translates to rebirth , which gave the
start of the 14th century a sense of reawakening for those who resided in Europe, or
more specifically, Italy. The renaissancecontributed to many different cultures that
sprung from this era, resulting in the spread of a considerable amount of innovations
that the world still refers to in the 21st century. Venice, Genoa and Florencecan be
comparable yet they differ in many categories. While Venice and Genoa had a
primary focus on trade and control, Florence began to flourish and expand its
horizons with the arts they were introduced to. Although... Show more content on

huge amounts of creativity began to spur. Philosophers and artists alike discussed
topics that were revolved around humans more than God (Humanism), unlike what

during the renaissance greatly affected the following centuries, leading Venice,
Genoa and Florence to become widely known as the greatest, and most powerful
cities of the Italian Renaissance. Throughout the beginning of the renaissance,
Venice had made a name for itself as one of the greatest trading cities of Europe.
The city managed to gain independence, ruled by a doge (chief magistrate) and a
council of powerful nobles (Dubrulle, 2016). Control was gained over a section of the

Napoleon s Return to France Essay
Napoleon returned to home to France with only about 10% of his Army still alive.
He lost most of his soldiers during the Great White Death, which is one of the
largest French disasters to date. Since all the coalition allies knew he was in
trouble, they decided to follow him and take him out while he was down and
burned out. This is when he decided to give himself up and be exiled to Elba with
1000 guards. Before he left though, he promised his men that he, ... would return
when the flowers bloomed. And that was a promise that Napoleon kept. When he
returned to France he came face to face with Marshal Nay but as an enemy and not
a friend. Marshal Nay had started working for the new King of France, King Louis

that caused a lot of bloodshed on La Belle Alliance Ridge. Waterloo didn t get

place. Once he did get his cannons into place he decided he wanted to take
Hougomont. Hougomont became a huge headache to Napoleon because he would
constantly try to take it and never did during the entire battle. Picton ordered Major
General William Ponsoby, who led the Scots Grays, to attack the French. Every
English boy would have wanted to be one of those brave men at the time. They
collided with the French lancers and they were annihilated. The Scots Grays tried
to ever turn back but not one of them survived. While this was going on, around
1:45 pm, Picton was shot in the head, through his top hat. Picton was not dressed in
his usual military uniform because Napoleon had attacked his train and stole his
gear so all he had to wear was a black suit and top hat. That particular hat is on

1. The biodiversity hotspot I choose to write about is the California Floristic Province.

1920 is a really important time in America, it starts after the World War One until
the Great Depression. People start to enjoy their life and having parties, alcohol,
everything is about money and goods. We can see people s amazing and colorful
life from the, The Great Gatsby . But was The life at Twenties really this wonderful?
Or actually there s a lot of hard things behind the amazing life?
This era is after the World War One, there s not only a synonym for this time. At
this time, Jazz music starts getting popular, Jazz music is in most of people s life,
so some people also call this time as The Jazz era . Besides, people fight for the
freedom and democracy in the war, after they come back to their country they found
that the truth is different with their imagination. That makes people start to try to
brake the moral concept so the twenties also called the Impeteous Twenties The 1920s

Summary Of Gender Criticism In Jane Austen s Lady Susan
I chose Gender Criticism to analyze the text. From the text, lady Susan has a
different female role compares to the other women in her time. She is proud of
being a coquette and enjoys the pleasure of subduing men which is not acceptable to
the prior generation. There is a cognitive gap of female gender between the old
generation and new open generation in the short story, so, I want to figure out the
differences in my paper.
Jane Austen s Lady Susan is about lady Susan Vernon seeks an advantageous second
marriage for herself, while attempting to push her daughter into a dismal match. (
Lady Susan. ) From our textbook, feminist and gender criticism is showing how
female literary characters could overcome the sexist power structures that surround
them and exercise power in their worlds. (Reading and Writing, 172) Not like
women today, in the period of lady Susan, marrying to a wealthy and humorous
spouse is the only way to become rich and get happiness. Is it acceptable for a woman
to try her best to pursue her happiness and wealth, and hang the cost? My answer is
yes and no, but at least the woman should have the choice. Lady Susan uses her
beauty and intelligence power, and even her daughter to earn a wealthy life, and
some people agree with her, while most people against her behavior.
Austen reveals women s strength in different characters in Lady Susan , like ration,
brave and independent. In letter IV and VI, although Mrs. Vernon hates lady Susan,
when her brother
Kalam Cosmological Argument Analysis
The Kalam Cosmological argument is considered one of the most powerful
argument for Gods existence. The syllogism goes like this, Whatever begins to
exist has a cause; The universe began to exist; Therefore: The universe has a cause.
Being able to give a reason to why one believes something should be the foundation
of one s belief. The universeeither had a beginning or it is eternal, there is no middle
ground in the Kalam Cosmological argument(Vitale 103). Many will try and take
premise one of the argument and say that in physics there is no such thing as nothing.
Instead, skeptics will say that the universe doesn t need a creator because according
to the laws of quantum mechanics it can just come into existencefrom nothing. This

Human Mortality According to Heidegger Essay
Human Mortality According to Heidegger
Martin Heidegger (1889 1976) was, and still is considered to be, along with the likes
of Soren Kierkegaard, Edmund Husserl and Jean Paul Sartre, one of the principal
exponents of 20th century Existentialism. An extraordinarily original thinker, a critic
of technological society and the leading Ontologist of his time, Heidegger s
philosophy became a primary influence upon the thoughts of the younger generations
of continental European cultural personalities of his time.
The son of a Catholic sexton, Heidegger displayed an early interest in religion and
philosophy; at school he began an intensive study of the late 19th century Catholic
philosopher Franz Brentano and, as we shall see, Brentano s ... Show more content on

Indeed, Heidegger s comments upon existential themes such as anxiety, distress and
care were not meant as psychological or anthropological comments or propositions.
Instead, they were specifically proposed as philosophical (or, more accurately,
ontological) statements and phenomenological observations. Remembering the
influence of Brentano and Aristotle, we will see that Heidegger s principle
philosophical concern was the disclosure of the various ways of Being and
particularly, Human Being.
In 1927, Heidegger astonished the German philosophical domain with the publication
of his magnum opus Sein und Zeit , a work that, although almost unreadable, was
immediately felt to be of primary importance. Perhaps partly due to its intriguingly
difficult style, the book was acclaimed as a very deep and important work not only in
German speaking countries but also in Latin countries, where Phenomenology had
already been popularised. It strongly influenced Jean Paul Sartre (although, as with
Husserl, Sartre s phenomenological ontology concentrated more upon consciousness
than Heidegger believed was necessary). Despite his protestations, Heidegger was
classed, on the strength of Being and Time as the leading atheistic Existentialist.
However, the book received a colder reception in England and its influence was
negligible for several decades.
In order to understand the above titled question, we must first attempt to understand
some of the fundamental points that define

  • 1. Atticus Essay Crafting an essay on the subject of "Atticus" poses a unique set of challenges. While the character of Atticus Finch is iconic, embodying principles of integrity and justice in Harper Lee's "To Kill a Mockingbird," the difficulty lies in presenting a fresh perspective. Countless essays have been penned about Atticus, exploring his role as a father, lawyer, and moral compass in the racially charged setting of Maycomb. To stand out in this sea of analyses, one must delve deep into the layers of Atticus's character, navigating the intricacies of his beliefs, actions, and the impact he has on those around him. The challenge lies not only in summarizing Atticus's qualities but in dissecting the nuances that make him a timeless literary figure. It demands a delicate balance between providing a comprehensive understanding of Atticus and offering a novel interpretation that engages the reader. Furthermore, exploring Atticus's relevance in today's context adds another layer of complexity. An effective essay would not only analyze Atticus within the narrative but also draw parallels to contemporary society, showcasing the enduring significance of his character. In conclusion, writing an essay on Atticus demands more than just a superficial exploration. It requires a keen analytical eye, a nuanced understanding of literature, and the ability to weave together themes from the novel with broader societal implications. Successfully navigating these challenges ensures that the essay not only pays homage to Atticus Finch but also contributes to the ongoing discourse surrounding his character. For assistance with essays on Atticus or any other topic, one can explore a variety of resources. Advantages Of Formal Education Formal Education: something no one should have to do without Formal education is a system of organized education with a set curriculum regarding content, objectives, and methods, which is usually well structured. It involves teachers, a student body, and a school. There is a program and there are laws in place that teachers and students must abide by and student progress assessed at various phases of learning in order to progress to the next stage. At age 8, he entered the Collegium Fredericianum, a Latin school, where he remained for 8 1/2 years and studied the classics. He then entered the University of Konigsberg in 1740 to study philosophy, mathematics, and physics. The death of his father halted his university career so he became a private tutor. In 1755, he returned to Konigsburg where he later resumed his studies. In 1756, he received a degree and was made a lecturer, and in 1770 he became a professor. Scholars usually divide his literary career into two periods: the Pre critical period and the Critical period. During the Pre critical period, 1747 to 1781, he wrote many non fictional works and criticisms. Some of them were quot;Thoughts on the True Estimation of Living Forces quot;, quot;On Fire quot;, quot;A New Explanation of the First Principles of Metaphysical Knowledge quot;, and quot;On the Forms and Principles of the Sensible and Intelligible World quot;. From 1770 to 1780, he mainly worked on preparing quot; The Critique of Pure Reason quot;. The Critical period lasted from 1781 to 1794. During this period, he wrote quot; The Critique of Pure Reason quot; in 1781, and quot;Foundation for the Metaphysics of Ethics quot; in 1785. Following the critical works, Kant published quot;Critique of Practical Reason quot;, quot;Critique of Judgment quot;, and quot;Religion within the Limits of Mere Reason quot;. Three main discussions of Kant are Duty, the Formula of the End, and the Kingdom of Ethics. Kant feels that we act morally when we do our duty, however it is important to distinguish between acting according to duty and acting from duty. Acting according to duty is when someone else has imposed the duty. This is an

In India, the concept of independent directors was first introduced through voluntary guidelines issued by the Confederation of Indian Industry ( CII ) . The Report suggested that any listed company with a turnover of Rs. 100 crores and above should have professionally competent, independent, non executive directors, who should constitute at least 30 per cent of the board if the chairman of the company is a non executive director or at least 50 per cent of the board if the chairman and managing director is the same person. The Complex Processes Of Urban Development The complex processes of urbanisation overarches and entails a set of social, cultural, economic, political, environmental and technological functions that result in sprawl and densities, proportional to core size and settlement. Further implicating the extensive use of natural resources from fringes and rural spheres within citylimits to be consumed and then later in turn converted into waste. Urban ecosystems are therefore, complex multifaceted systems that require a burdensome amount of natural resources input and negotiations for their adequate development. In urban discourse, the lack of interdisciplinary and trans disciplinary interest partly due to an absence of tools to which all disciplines can use to further incorporate ecological theories to assessment and planning of urban centers. All these connections have been made and academics have divided the complex concept into biophysical processes and socioeconomic processes when examining cities in case studies. The urban ecology theory and a closely related concept of urban metabolism can explain the technical aspects of urban density and growth but human influences are not accounted for in the assessment. However, human scholarship is a key component that shapes the metabolic processes in urban ecologies and in turn alters the initial footprint. By examining the historical context of urban ecology, the early stages and latter results of the urban ecology theory being transformed from a multidisciplinary concept into

Most of those ideas were true. I thought Gogol would be better looking and darker shade skin. Ashima is exactly what I thought she would look like. In other words she is expected to give up the life she knew. Susan Glaspell s play Trifles tells the story of a woman that gave up her all to please society and her husband. The story examines a woman who sacrificed her tranquility, her talents, and her individuality. In the end, the woman even gave up her freedom. A person s home should be more than a place to shelter them from the elements. It should be a place where one could express him/her self freely and not have to worry about any harm coming to them. That is what Mr. Wright did to his wife; he killed her self esteem so that she would think that the only thing good in her life was he, when in actuality the only thing wrong in her life was her husband. Forms of business ownership (5K marks) 1.Sole proprietorship A business that is just owned by only one person, who receives all the profit for everything. Example of a sole proprietorship can be a hairdresser that buys a chair for their business and can get customers directly for them. 2.Partnership When a business contains more than one owner it is a partnership as they share all responsibilities, profits and losses. Example of a partnership could be Pink and Victoria s secret, since they are like the same company but different brands, and they share all profits and losses. 3.Corporation Corporation is a type of business, which is already REGISTERED as a public owned company but it is also recognized as a separate entity from its owners. Example of corporation is Best Buy. 4.Cooperative People who use the goods and service offered by their own business. Example of cooperative is dairy farms. Different types of businesses (10K marks) 1.Service Assistance offered from different businesses, usually in return of money, but service is a thing that is not tangible. That means that services can t be goods or anything that is tangible. Example of a service is hair salon service. 2.Retail Any business that buys and resells goods to anyone. Using a LabQuest unit and Gas Pressure Sensor kit, the HCl mixture was added to the flask with the magnesium ribbon and allowed to react. When reaction was complete, the change of temperature and gas was recorded. This procedure was repeated for different masses of magnesium ribbon (masses found on page 89 of the lab manual). After the completed procedure, moles of Hв‚‚ produced in each trial were calculated. (The actual procedure can be found on pages 87 89 of the lab manual) After each procedure, a graph was created for each set of data to compare and contrast results. It should be noted that not all supplies are listed here as exactly what is needed to perform each method but a complete list can be found in the lab manual preceding each experiment. Pay extreme caution to the handling of HCl as it can cause acid burns on your skin and remove color from your clothing. Should you get any on you or your clothes, rinse with soap and water. Also, when using flask with thermocouple, it will be top heavy and can easily topple over and break. A final precaution, hydrogen gas is being produced during the gas law method and therefore no open flames in the laboratory during that portion of the experiment. Tezuka, revolutionized this by taking his experiences from watching German and French movies, and adding a cinematic element to his manga, making it more movie like and dynamic. He put in more panels and more pages to create dynamic movements and expressions. He wanted to put more emotion into his works. He wanted his manga to portray more than just laughs, but wanted them to convey feelings of sadness, anger and hatred (Thorn, Matt). These tactics were used in the past, and then were eventually regarded as being cruel and inhumane. Somehow, the idea of solitary confinement has returned and is respected among many people. I believe that there are some people who do need to be put in solitary confinement and some who shouldn t have to go through that psychological pain. The movie did shine some perspective on to me, as i had not nearly any clue as to what really went down behind those walls. First of all, at Colorado State Penitentiary, they call it administrative segregation rather than solitary confinement. This is because their goal is supposedly, just to cut them off from physical contact until they are determined to be safe around other people. The feelings projected by the men being interviewed in the documentary tie in with the feelings that Stanley Tookie Williams expressed in his book, Life in Prison . All of the inmates, including Stanley, acknowledged that solitary confinement, or the hole, causes people to go crazy. Stanley complained of the small cells and how it made many men go stir crazy. In the film, they showed exactly how small the cells are and the limited room for activity that the inmates have. The images in the documentary of the men getting strip searched further supported Stanley s statements regarding the embarrassment of strip searches. It showed one of the men

The last example of the theme is when Narayan wrote, Truth, Sekhar reflected, is like the sun. I suppose no human being can ever look it straight in the face without blinking or being dazed (81). Up To 1775 Essay Economics Up to 1775* Cultivation of Tobacco was the basis of America s early economy; shortly after, later economy weaved and meshed with the British Empire s on heavily voluminous levels, and their relationship was strongly based on various Acts placed upon the Colonies. After acquiring seeds from Trinidadian colonies, John Rolfe s plantation of the tobacco plant caused the first real economic presence by selling them to European countries. The Tobacco plant was the first true cash crop of America, imports from their mother country England were reaching to about half a million pounds per year. The Navigation Acts of 1651 prohibited any foreign ships, with an emphasis on the Dutch, into British Colonies in relation to trade. The British Kingdom believed that for America to be a stable country, their exports should outnumber their imports. The Kingdom was just recovering from a brutal recession, and they were determined to make sure that their rivals, the Dutch, be absent of a trading relation with the Colonies. The Molasses Act of 1733 was one of the first Acts that ironically brought in a boom of smuggling into the colonies. It issued that any molasses imported from any country other than the British Colonies would have a six pence per gallon tax placed upon it. This act was created mainly due to the urging of large plantation owners in the British West Indies. The Currency Act of 1751 blocked the production of paper money by New England colonies. Consumers should receive a product that is free from harm or risk. Companies should be held liable if they know that there is some risk to the product but do not disclose it to the consumer. We all know about the GM ignition switch recall. During the pre production development of this switch, GM had experienced problems and redesigned the switch. GM was still experiencing the same issue with the ignition switch. They continue to put the same switch in the vehicles they were building. Engineers from GM did notice the issue and reported it. It was characterized by its high population density (which is a continuity to this day), and its early, high level of urbanization. From the 16th to 18th centuries, the Dutch rose to power comparable to even Britain and France. This was also the period of time when world trade flourished and linked continents, acquiring the name global trade. In fact, the Dutch republic experienced such growth and improvement that the 17th century was the Dutch golden age. During the golden age, trade, military, art, and science flourished. This all led to a domination in trade, production of ships, etc. Western Europe After the split of the Roman Empire, the western half fell as the east prospered. Then in the medieval period, the catholic western European states emerged stronger than ever, causing the distinction between roman catholic/protestant vs eastern orthodox in Europe. Western Europe was made up of competitive states that came to play major roles. The Dutch republic managed to become largely influential and powerful through trade. As previously mentioned, competitiveness was and still is a characteristic of Western Europe. Since the Dutch focused on ship building to support the trade they were beginning to be a part of. Through this time period emerged the Columbian exchange and some European states also took an interest

Comparing The Novel Out, Out And Disabled Compare the ways in which the writers create sympathy in Out, Out and Disabled In the poems, Robert Frost and Wilfred Owen both create sympathy for the characters through different ways. In Disabled , Owen paints a vivid, moving picture of a soldier who has been injured in World War One and lost his legs and an arm. Wilfred Owen himself took part in the war, consequently witnessing first hand many young men whose lives were similarly destroyed. In the poem, Out, Out , Robert Frost shows the fragility of life in two ways. Firstly alluding to Shakespeare s metaphor in Macbeth s soliloquy Out, out, brief candle , which informs the reader that life is very short and fragile. Moreover, Frost looks at the themes of sudden death and child labour to help to make this a very sad and shocking poem. The poem reflects the tragedy of the accidental death of a child doing a man s job. Frost s description of setting, imagery, and tone create a moving poem with a horrifying ending that leaves the reader feeling despaired at the bleakness of the situation and quite shocked. Even in the structure of the poem, Wilfred Owen shows us a compassionate portrait of loss by switching between and comparing the soldier s experiences before and after war time, and the related memories and emotions, for instance: And girls glanced lovelier as the air grew dim In old times, before he threw away his knees . This example shows the constant comparison and reminder of the soldier s loss

An extraordinarily original thinker, a critic of technological society and the leading Ontologist of his time, Heidegger s philosophy became a primary influence upon the thoughts of the younger generations of continental European cultural personalities of his time. Indeed, Heidegger s comments upon existential themes such as anxiety, distress and care were not meant as psychological or anthropological comments or propositions. Instead, they were specifically proposed as philosophical (or, more accurately, ontological) statements and phenomenological observations. Remembering the influence of Brentano and Aristotle, we will see that Heidegger s principle philosophical concern was the disclosure of the various ways of Being and particularly, Human Being. In 1927, Heidegger astonished the German philosophical domain with the publication of his magnum opus Sein und Zeit , a work that, although almost unreadable, was immediately felt to be of primary importance. Perhaps partly due to its intriguingly difficult style, the book was acclaimed as a very deep and important work not only in German speaking countries but also in Latin countries, where Phenomenology had already been popularised. It strongly influenced Jean Paul Sartre (although, as with Husserl, Sartre s phenomenological ontology concentrated more upon consciousness than Heidegger believed was necessary). Despite his protestations, Heidegger was classed, on the strength of Being and Time as the leading atheistic Existentialist. However, the book received a colder reception in England and its influence was negligible for several decades. In order to understand the above titled question, we must first attempt to understand some of the fundamental points that define
