1.Question: What are the major advantages of IPv6 over the version IPv4?
It is no doubt that almost everybody hears about IP address. Nowadays it is widely spread all over
the world. IP address is shortened form of Internet Protocol (IP) address. A TCP/IP network is
identified by IP address for device or computer. Internet and devices are connected with each other
through IP protocol with sending information to each of them IP address. The IP address is not in
computer, router, it is in field of interface. Nowadays we have got two types of IP address. These
are IPv4( fourth generation of Internet protocol) and IPv6( sixth generation of Internet protocol).
IPv4 consists of 32 bit. Bit express zero and one

Speech On Grommet
Choosing The Right Grommet Type For Your Application
We have seen it already in many places. Also, we have already used it many times for day to day
applications. Anyway, people don t know the name of it. Well, we refer to the Grommet here. Are
you confused now? OK, go to your bathroom and take a closer look at the bathtub curtain! The
curtain moves along the bar on which it is on thanks to a few metal rings. We call those metal rings;
Grommet. You can see similar items on your shoes. Anyway, those are small items, and we usually
call them eyelets. The whole purpose of this small piece is reinforcing and protecting the hole.
Without the eyelets, the shoelace holes can get damaged from day to day use.

Banners, hospital curtains. tabletop displays, metal bakeware, protective barriers, non skid covers
for RV steps, aerospace parts, and fabrics are the common applications of an aluminum Grommet.
Now, you can understand how versatile this product is.
Why aluminum?: Well, we should highlight several properties here:
* Durability: When compared to steel, aluminum is durable and light weight. While it is difficult to
which is the best from aluminum and stainless steel, aluminum is definitely better than ordinary
steel. So, can be used for outdoor applications and for where water and moisture are present.
* Ductility: Well, this benefit is enjoyed by the Grommet manufacturers. When compared to steel,
aluminum is more ductile, hence easy to roll, processed, and stamped. In other words, aluminum
makes the manufacturing process easy and practical.
* Lightness: The high weight is the top downside of steel grommets. Aluminum, on the other hand;
is three times lighter than steel, making it suitable for applications where weight reduction is
necessary. So, installing 3 aluminum grommets adds the same weight as adding one steel

Pathogen And Biological Agent That Causes Disease
There is no such thing as a perfect pathogen. Discuss
A pathogen can be defined as a microorganism or a biological agent that causes disease. Pathogen
s sole aim is to replicate and produce progeny to pass its genes on to; therefore the notion of a
perfect pathogen would be an organism that has the capacity to carry out this task. The major
classes of infectious agents are bacteria, virus, protozoa, fungi and even prions (Albert B, 2002) .
In order to be considered perfect a pathogen would have to possess many characteristic such as
being highly contagious, rapidly shed, evoking limited immunity, constantly evolving and only
moderately virulent, allowing most of the infect to recover, which means a larger pool of
susceptible host (J.Hall, 2012). The host immune system protects us from most infection. However
pathogens must overcome this in order to survive, and they have developed many adaptations to
achieve this.
The first ordeal that a pathogen must overcome biochemical and physical barriers that operates at
the body surface such as the skin in order to gain entry. The skin is normally impermeable to
majority of the pathogen and the mucosal layer also provides a barrier (Richard V Goering, 2008).
Virus and bacteria can break through the first line defence in many ways such as through openings
of the ears, mouth or nose. Wounds, abrasion are also sites of entry as they are an opening in the
barrier many virulent pathogens utilise this including streptococci, Leptospira

Drugs In Brave New World Essay
People who do drugs are evil , drugs are the cause of crimes , and all drugs harm you . These are
all said about drugs in our society, but what most people don t know is that 81% of Americans
use drugs on a daily bases for their remedies of minor ailments (consumer health care productions
association).Drugs like prescription pain killers, aspirin, Tylenol, and other OTC (over the
counter) drugs you can find almost anywhere are used every day in our society. If people see
someone pull out a bottle or ibuprofen and take 4 or 5 nobody even thinks twice about it. So is our
society taking advantage of the drugs available to them? And if nobody does anything about the
amount of drugs Americans are using, will the society norm turn into that of the Brave New World?

Miss Crowne s gone on soma holiday (Huxley), they talk so calmly about her going on soma
holidays, the same way Americans calmly talk about someone taking some kind of painkiller. But
painkillers and OTC drugs in the 21 century don t have the effects nor do they get used as often as
soma, or do they?
60 million Americans are abusing the use of drugs to help with their minor pain or ailments
(consumer health care productions association). But does the use of so many of these drugs hurt
the American society more than people realize? The reality is that even an aspirin can have adverse
effects or cause harm , even though aspirin if the most common seen and used drug, it s still a drug
and it can still cause harm. A practice at St. Louis College of Pharmacy states that Ingesting them
over a long period of time can lead to any number of adverse effects and lead to a worsening of a
disease that should be treated by a medical professional.

Voltaire Candide Analysis
Angeliene Pax
Professor Daniel Johnson
History 165
19 October 2014
Analysis Paper #2 In 1726 Voltaire was beaten by a nobleman s servants and was imprisoned
without trial. He asked to be exiled to England and lived there for two years; he learned to admire
England s society. He wrote letters, Candide , and Treatise on Tolerance in response to French and
other European societies. In Voltaires excerpts he argued for religious toleration, separation of state
and church, and basic human rights. Religion was never easily tolerable for most societies. People
have been killed for their beliefs; people have gone at war for their beliefs, and now we have people
like Voltaire, who wants people of different religions to have toleration for one... Show more

During Voltaire s time, France was run by the Vatican and its Roman Catholic Church. Under
the Catholic Church there was no freedom of speech or religion. If the Church said it was a sin,
then under the government s eye it was a crime. Voltaire argued that human rights were the
government s main priority and that people should not be bound to a religion that they are not
acceptant of. Indulgences were popular in European society. It was believed one could pay their
sins away and the indulgence revenue would go back to the church as well as the government.
Voltaire also found this to be corrupt in European society, to use religion as a way to create
revenue for the state. It would also allow clergymen to be exempt from taxes. No one is
exempted in this country from paying certain taxes because he is a nobleman or a priest. All
duties and taxes are settled by the House of Commons, whose power is greater than that of the
Peers, though inferior to it in dignity said Voltaire. It is known that taxes are a type of revenue
used for the benefit of all its society, whether it is goods, safety, or other services. Since it s used
to benefit all classes of society, Voltaire argues that everyone should pay it as

Clean Edge Analysis Essay
Position Statement:
Paramount Health and Beauty wants to launch a new razor into the market currently referred to as
Clean Edge. The project team recommends that the company should position the product as a
distinct mainstream product, dubbing it Clean Edge by Paramount in order to produce growth in
sales from new product innovation. The importance of placing the product in a mainstream position
is to successfully launch an innovative product creating more market share for Paramount and for
Clean Edge to become the most sought out razor in the industry. Failing to take this route and
deciding to position the product in a niche would only give the new product a limited amount of
consumers, preventing Clean Edge from reaching its ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Clean Edge by Paramount gives customers a clear perception of the advantages of the product
without being concerned about other product categories.
Critique of Rejected Options
There are several reasons why the project team should reject the first option in positioning Clean
Edge in a niche. The first reason concerns the pricing strategy. Placing the product in a niche
position would make the razor more expensive in the retail sense. Catering to the more involved
groomers places the product at a suggested retail price at $12.99. Placing the product at a higher
price in the niche position could only lead Clean Edge Razor to a limited market. Rosenberg
suggested placing the product in the niche position for a year or two; however, this could lead to
prevention in attracting a wider customer base for the product during that time frame.
Another reason Paramount should not place in the niche position is their significantly low marketing
budget compared to their competitors. In just media advertising alone, Radiance spent $16 million
on Naiv. For Clean Edge, the cost for advertising for the niche position would only be $7 million.
Because Radiance is spending more than twice as much on their advertising compared to what
Paramount would spend in the niche position, Radiance would gain an advantage in covering more
ground to promote its product.
As far as product naming is concerned, Paramount

William Edward Deming on Quality
Today, if one were to ask for the definition of quality amongst the general public, one would expect
to hear several different answers. Some believe quality is doing things the right way, while others
may find that quality is fitness for purpose or meeting a customer s expectations. (Dewark, 2014)
Many businesses and customers have their own definition of qualitythat may be acceptable because
there is no all encompassing way to describe it. But the diverse responses one would receive
today truly represent how much the concept of quality has grown and expanded. In contrast, after
World War II (WWII), many businesses and customers had minimal understanding of what quality
truly was. It was after WWII that people began to put a more concentrated emphasis on quality,
and one of the many great advocates to bring about this change was William Edward Deming.
(Stevenson, 2011) Deming devoted much of his life to understanding and improving quality, from
his time and work in Japan to Deming s development of quality philosophies, and today Deming is
revered amongst businesspeople around the world for his advancements in the field of quality.
Deming was born in Iowa on October 14, 1900 on a farm to an agricultural family. Deming studied
at several different universities and earned degrees in engineering and mathematics as well as a
Ph.D. in physics from Yale University. (London Continuum, 2006) Due to his intellect and
background in agriculture, Deming worked for the U.S. Department

Mark, unlike Holden was the character in the narrative to betray a fellow character. Mark
allowed or agreed with Sean Parker that Eduardo had to be punished for freezing the account
linked to the company but in the process betrayed the friendship between himself and Eduardo.
Even though Mark may have not been on hundred percent on the decision of dropping Eduardo s
share, he still decided to betray his loyalty of Eduardo by choosing Sean instead, who in the end
also betrays Mark. In this case, it seems that most friendships in The Social Network were never
meant to survive; all were meant to crash and burn. For Holden, he basically expects most people
to betray him, he expects most people to be phoneys and expects all innocence to be lost in most
children. Holden constantly feels betrayed with most of the other characters in the story, which
could definitely be a main cause to his mental problems. Early in the novel, Mr Spencer betrays
him. He was one of the few teachers at his school that Holden could relate with and trust. Spencer
had told Holden of his expulsion, and Holden felt betrayed by his teacher. When Holden returns
home to see Phoebe, his young sister, she is disappointed in him that he had failed to stay in Pency.
He thinks that she should accept and be loyal to him unconditionally, so he feels betrayed. This
shows that Holden really could not depend on anyone because

Employment Of A Vital Labor And Employment Law
A vital labor and employment law is the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, also known as the
ADEA. The law was enacted in 1967 and later amended. On the Unites States EEOC website, they
write, ADEA protects individuals who are 40 years of age or older from employment discrimination
based on age. (The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, 2008) The law is meant to
safeguard workers from being discriminated against due to their age. The law is especially
important now with workers staying on the job longer and retirees returning to the workforce after
retirement. The EEOC states, The law applies to employers with 20 or more employees, including
state and local governments. It also applies to employment agencies and labor organizations, as well
as to the federal government. (The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, 2008) Age
discriminationcan come in many forms in the business world. First, employment advertisements
brings the attention of work seeking people. An employer can use certain words in their
employment advertisements that can keep older workers from applying to the job, as an example:
young, recent college graduate, youthful, and etc. An employer using these words can open them to
discrimination lawsuits. Similarly, in an article from the Seattle Times which list five of the biggest
legal missteps Human Resources can make, they write, The hiring process: Mistakes in this area
often start right at the beginning, with discriminatory

Permo-Triassic Mass Extinction Essay
The Permo Triassic mass extinction: what died out
LIFE IN THE SEA
Fusulinid foraminifera disappeared completely, although other foram groups suffered much lower
levels of extinction. Palaeozoic corals (Rugosa and Tabulata) also vanished. Stenolaemate bryozoans
and articulate brachiopods suffered near complete extinction. The extant echinoderm groups all
experienced severe bottlenecks at this time: only two lineages of crinoids and echinoids made it
into the Mesozoic. Several echinoderm groups (e.g. Blastoidea) suffered complete extinction.
Fusilinid foraminifera (right) were unicellular animals, ranging in size from 0.1 8mm. Benthonic or
planktonic forms with a considerable disparity in morphology. Peaked in the Early Carboniferous,
already in prolonged decline throughout Permian, and the final 10% died out during the PTME.
The non fusilinid foraminifera (far right) included five suborders. The different suborders were
affected differently by the extinction: the Allogromiina are poorly known, the Textulariina lost a
third of genera; Miololina lost half of the genera; Lagenina and Involutina showed dramatic
increase in post extinction radiation.Sponges (Porifera), the basal animal group (left), composed of

My Passion For Cheerleading
Carmen Chessa
10/5/17
ENG 096
Becoming a cheerleader at such a young age, being on the cheer mat became a happy place for
me. I spent thirteen out of my eighteen years of my life cheerleading and it is definitely
something that means a lot to me. Being on the cheer mat whether at practice or at competition
has taught me many life lessons that I will cherish for the rest of my life. Having such caring and
dedicated coaches made my experience so special and unique. My passion for cheerleading shows
tremendously as soon as I step on the mat, and learning many life lessons from cheer has shaped
me into the person I am today.
In competitive cheerleading stunting is one of the most important things in a cheer routine.
Stunting is something every team wants to be the best at, but it takes a lot of hard work and
dedication to be the best. Throughout a majority of my cheerleading career I was a base. A base
is the girl at the bottom of the partner stunt/pyramid who lifts up the flyer. I loved to base. I had
lots of experience as a base and it became very easy to me. Coming on to the high school
competition cheer team as a freshman, I knew there was a lot of new things I would have to learn
as a base. I was very motivated and dedicated to be the best base I could be and that took lots of
practice. The next year, coming onto the team as a sophomore my coaches had the idea for me to
become a flyer. Flying is something I have never done. I was very nervous at first but I was

Logical Fallacies In Carleen Turner s Letter
Logical Fallacies: Carleen Turner letter
In her letter, Carleen Turner is telling about her son, Brock Turner and asks the judge to be kind
and merciful to her son. It is obvious that Carleen Turner was writing the letter with the strong
emotions, and the emotions in the letter are much stronger than a logical constituent. The first
logical fallacy, begging the claim, one can see at the beginning of the letter. Carleen Turner is
writing to the judge that she want to introduce you to my son, Brock Turner the REAL Brock
Allen Turner (Turner 1). The emotional story of the mother who evidently will try to show her son
from the better side hardly will show the more real figure of Brock Turner than the materials of the
case that shows him from the different sides and which the judge obviously have seen. However,
Carleen Turner is not trying to prove in any way that her describing of Brock Turner is real, she just
validates it within the claim, and that undermining her argument because she is not showing the real
Brock Turner but only her view of him. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

talent and ability of a person. This facility undermined the part of the main argument in the letter
that Brock Turner is a nice person who does not deserve punishment and being in prison. The fact

Snickers Vs Twix Research Paper
Throughout many years there has been a debate between whether Snickers or Twix is the best
candy bar overall. When discussed, people have disputed on whether the flavors in the candy bars
are tastier, which candy bar is healthier, and which has more appeal in advertising.Even though
Snickers and Twix bars are made by the same company (Mars) they are very different. Snickersfans
might say that Snickers bars are the best because they have peanuts in the bar, this might be true for
the majority people, but not those with allergies. This evidence proves that Twix is the best candy
bar.
One of the reasons that people think that Twix is the best candy bar is its overall appeal.
Furthermore, the wafer adds to the overall appeal. Compared to Snickers which has a chewy
nougat, Twix s wafer is crunchy and thick. One satisfied customer said All time favorite chocolate,

one customer, out of many Twix customers, who said, First off, the packaging is great, eye

represents the caramel in the candy bar. A good selling strategy to have two bars, so that the
customer feels like they are getting more. Having two candy bars helps the customer feel like
they are getting more in one package. It also helps with the advertisement. The ads also help sell
the product, with the competition between left and right Twix. The ad features two factories, left
and right, and each factory thinks the other one copied their candy bar. This is entertaining
because they make the same thing with the same ingredients. Now when you buy a package of the
fun size Twix the bars are packaged saying whether it is left or right, and the customer can decide

Health Problems Of High Fructose Corn Syrup
It todays society, health problems are becoming the norm. Adult obesity rates now exceed 35
percent in four states, 30 percent in 25 states and are above 20 percent in all states (Trust for
America s Health and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation). Some of these major health problems can
be prevented such as some diabetes, obesity that is not genetically inherited, as well as a reduced
insulinproduction. To do this we need to start by looking at the foods that we eat, as well as the
FDA s foodstandards. High Fructose Corn Syrupis in almost every processed food out there. This
additive has replaced cane sugar because it is cheaper and easier to produce, even though is
poses commonly know health risks like liver failure, obesity, and a reduced insulin production,
and lesser known concerns such as mercury that are not spoken of that often. The federal
government needs to get rid of High Fructose Corn Syrup in our processed foods because of the
known health risks in both the production and consumption. We all know that High Fructose
Corn Syrup is in our food but we don t know what it truly is and its hidden health risks it carries.
High Fructose Corn Syrup is mad of two main things: fructose and glucose. Fructose is a sugar
that is found in many fruits and vegetables, and glucose is a sugar that helps our bodies retain
energy. Fructose is a tough energy source for the body to use due to it has to be processed through
the liver. It is also more lipogenic, or fat producing,

Leadership Concepts Of The Film Nemo
In this paper I will identify and explain the leadership concepts that I learned in this class using
characters from the film Finding Nemo. To do so I will provide examples of transformative
leadership and describe the impact it had on others. I will also explain how the characters acquired
their leadershipeffectiveness by identifying experiences that were instrumental in their leadership
development.
Transformative Leaders The three characters in the film Finding Nemo that displayed
transformative leadership are Marlin, Dory and Gill. Marlin0020goes on a journey to find his
lost son Nemo. While on his journey Marlin experiences many challenges and meets new
friends. Marlin learns that he no longer needs to be afraid, and that he can be a leader. Along the
way Marlin meets Dory, who joins him on his journey. She is a very positive fish who suffers
from short term memory loss. Dory always maintains a positive attitude, calms Marlin as he
becomes upset and helps Marlin become more positive as well (Bennis, 2009). Throughout the
movie Dory shows Marlin that he can trust her. Dory easily adjusts to new situations and thinks
outside of the box which contributes to Marlin being reunited with Nemo. As Dory and Marlin s
journey nears the end Marlin begins to have a lot of respect and trust for Dory. Gill is also a
transformative leader. Nemo met Gill in the fish tank at the dentist s office after he was captured.

holding in effect that any racial classification by the government is unconstitutional, that no
governmental unit may take race into account except to cure a plain constitutional violation of
equal protection? Has the Court overruled Regents v. Bakke, the charter for affirmative action in
higher education?
In Bakke v Regents of the University of California, we have a landmark reverse discrimination
case that influenced education as a whole. Bakke was rejected from graduate school even though
he had superior scores than many of the African American applicants who were admitted. Bakke
challenged the University of California and overturned the quota system that had been established
in public universities across the nation. The University of California held on to the belief that
black people should have access to black doctors. However, if the University were to go on a sole
merit system then the number of special admittees would diminish along with the aforementioned
belief. This belief was quickly altered by the Supreme Court with their decision against the
University.
While the approach the Courts use is meant to be color blind, the outcome is anything but color
blind. This can be seen through an examination of the equal protection jurisprudence of Justice O

People Are Really Good At Heart
Anne is an especially optimistic and whimsical girl who wants everyone to be cheerful, spite the

by Anne Frank and reveals that Anne still has hopethat World War II will end soon. I believe Anne
asserted this on behalf of lifting everyone s spirits with hope. Also, Anne wants to stay strong and
continue being positive throughout her ordeal. My final, and utmost supportive idea, is that far and
wide, Anne wants to try to remain hopeful. In the next couple paragraphs, I will be discussing
evidence to back this up.
The quote Anne implied at the end of the play, The Diary of Anne Frank, voices the opinion that

Stereotypes In Sorry For The Loss By Bridget Keehan
When it comes to stereotypes, it often results in our expectations don t match reality. But I can
help make the world easier to understand. In the short story Sorry for the Loss from 2008 by
Bridget Keehan, we meet a minister who becomes surprised when an inmate, she meets, don t seem
to be what she had expected.
This minister is the main character of the short story. She is a catholic and her name is Evie. She
works at a prison and has been working there for 5 years. She finds comfort in praying because she
finds the brutality in prison intimidating.
Evie has to deliver her first death notice on her own. It is to an inmate named Victor. Victors
grandmother has passed away, and Evie wants to do everything right. For Evie, it is easier to judge
the inmates than to relate to them. She sees them as some kind of villains. When she delivers the
bad news to Victor, Evie doesn t understand Victors reaction. She was sure he would begin to cry,
but he doesn t. She expected Victor was a brutal... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But as the reader, we might know. His way of reacting to death is different from the reaction Evie
would have.
The short story has an open ending. It is up to the reader to decide if the experience has made
Evie develop. Even though the final sentence where the butterfly knife is used as a metaphor for
Victor, indicates that she hasn t developed. She wanders back to the chapel trying to imagine a
butterfly knife and the damage it could wreak and wondering at the strangeness of how a thing so
hard and sharp, designed to cut, slice and stab, could be named after something so delicate and easy
to kill. (P. 6, l. 185 188)
Evie doesn t understand how a calm intelligent young man can be such a coldblooded killer.
There is a conflict between expectations and reality. It is stressed by the use of contrasts. While
Victor is this good looking boy, there is a large prison guard with a skin

When I was a kid in school, I was told that there were the basic things that you needed like clothes
and food and there were the things that you maybe want but don t really need. Advertisements
do not have any effects on what we need. We don t watch and add about how we need to eat
food to stay alive; we have hunger for that. However, Advertisements greatly affect what we
want. Do we want basic cereal or the fancy kind that athletes promote, or can we live with a plain
shirt or do we want the one with a guy riding a horse emblem? These want that stray away from
our basic needs are all driven by advertisement. No one is born wanting a Gucci shirt, they are
taught and conditioned to want one. The Frontline documentary, The Persuaders , delves into the
world of advertisement in order to explore different aspects of the industry that drives our desire....

After watching the film it is evident that the interaction between advertisements and consumers is
similar to the interactions between media and audiences. This is because advertisement is
inherently a form of media, but instead of trying to interaction the audience, it propagates a
propaganda for a specific item. You can look at the theories about mass media consumption and
apply it to advertisements. For example, in the dawn of mass media it was thought that the
hypodermic needle theory, or magic bullet theory, was how audiences reacted to the media. This
theory stated that when an audience consumed a certain facet of media like a radio talk show, the
media content would be directly injected into the audience. Therefore, the audience would
automatically respond to the stimuli. In this way the first advertisements were just information that
stated that something was better than another product in the hope that, like an injection, the
information would cause the audience to go out and buy their

A Day Keeps The Cancer Away
Death. It s probably one of the things we are most afraid of. We re scared of losing our loved
ones. We re scared of leaving the ones we care most about alone. Unfortunately, death isn t
something that we can control. However, we can prolong it for as much as possible. We all
know the saying, An apple a day keeps the doctor away , but what if I said, Less bacon a day
keeps the cancer away . If you aren t up to date, author, Jeffrey Kluger, has recently released an
article in TIME Magazine that ultimately talks about how bacon and other meats could be held
responsible for causing cancer, specifically colorectal cancer (2015). America s favorite
breakfast food, bacon, seems to be a prime suspect in this case. However, bacon isn t alone in
this. Hot dogs and other red meats are under suspicion as well. So what can we do? Well, we could
go cold turkey, but that doesn t solve anything. Instead, we need to be smarter about the decisions
we make when eating our meat, in order for us to live a healthier lifestyle. Although I m in no
position to tell you what you should do and shouldn t do, that doesn t mean I can t give you a
couple of tips. Before going into detail about what tips I can give you, first let s understand why
we should be smarter about the meat we eat. According to Kluger, In the case of processed meats,
the biggest risks are sodium nitrates, which are added to foods principally as preservatives. Once
they enter the body, however, they form nitrosamines, chemical

Comparing Max Bohm s Painting The Happy Mother And Child
Both the painting featured above have a common theme of Motherhood. They both picture a
smiling mother holding their child to their chest. The painting on the left is called The Happy
Mother; it was created by Max Bohm in 1913, and is currently located at the Smithsonian
American Art Museum. The Painting on the right is Mother and Child, and was made by Werner
Drewes at an unknown date and is also located in the Smithsonian American Art Museum. In
terms of line and shape, color, texture and pattern, and unity and variety, Bohm s paint is much
more pleasing to the eye than Drewes piece. Max Bohm was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1868, but
spent much of his life living overseas in Europe. He studied AcadГ©mie Julian in Paris and later
won a gold medal from the Paris Salon for one of his paintings in 1898. He later taught at school in
London until he returned to the States in 1911. He now has paintings in many museums, including

Rihanna s Disturbia
In a world where vapid bubble gum pop songs garner the most Youtube hits, radio requests, and
overall attention from today s youth, it is shocking to think that a pop music icon could release
such a thought provoking song. Contrary to the quintessential 21st century radio hits, Rihanna s
2008 single entitled Disturbia challenges listeners to look beyond captivating beats and an
irrefutably alluring hook. Beneath the rhythmically appealing instrumentals lies a series of
ominous lyrics that would assuredly frighten the listeners if they comprehended these lines on a
deeper level. The speaker explores themes of mental illness and Hollywood infamy and employs
a desperate tone that begs the listener for assistance. The title itself instills a simultaneous feeling
of familiarity and enigma in the listener. Familiarity is present as the root word disturb is easily
identifiable, but the title also elicits feelings of confusion because Disturbia is not an actual word
in the English language. The ia ending suggests that it may be a place inhabited by mentally
disturbed people. The song begins with a repetitive cadence of alliterative vocals. This pattern is
dull and indicative of an endless... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The speaker desperately states If you can t go go go/I think I m gonna oh oh oh which leaves
both the speaker and the listener in a place of unrest. Does the speaker submit to this oppressive
force? Will he/she continue to combat it? Is the speaker attacked by the force before he/she can
finish the sentence? Regardless of the song s resolution, Disturbia is unique in its attempt to
intertwine dark and complex lyrics within a contemporary sound. The song, like many others in its
genre, has amassed widespread success due to its memorable beats. However its lyrics also deserve
notoriety; they suggest that some modern pop songs contain underlying themes despite their radio

Write An Essay On The Piano Concerto
In Ravel s Piano Concerto in G, the fundamental concerto principle of contrast is expressed through
his experimentation of timbre, range, and color coupled with his use of rhythm, polytonality, and
orchestration. In the first movement, Allegramente, the interaction, balance, and relationship
between the pianoand orchestrachange from section to section and also within sections to give
structure for the whole work. Ravel s orchestration, especially in the use of percussion and harp, are
important factors in adding to the character, timbre, and structure. His use of bitonality,
polytonality, and overall tonal ambiguity are also important in how he allowed the solo to stand up
against the orchestra and create tension and climax.

The Causes For Immigrations During The Young Ages
This source analyses the causes for immigrations. Often people leave their native country due to
poverty, issues of security or simply because they are seeking a better life. This excerpt
demonstrates Pierre s struggle from the young ages. He lived in poverty, had to walk kilometres
in order to go to school and essentially is a real combatant as he managed to go to school, college
and university even if he was poor and his parents could not financially support him. Eventually,
he will leave Congo and then Ukraine because of poverty but also because he had a dream of a

Ethnographic Paper: Differences in Study Habits by Gender at King Library
A library, by definition, is a place set apart to contain books, periodicals, and other material for
reading, viewing, listening, study, or reference, as a room, set of rooms, or building where
books may be read or borrowed (Merriam Webster). However, for students at Miami University,
the word library may have different connotations. After asking several fellow students the first
word that comes to mind when someone talks about the library, the responses I received varied
from the expected books , study , and focus , to more personal emotions such as sad and
depressed . King Library, named for longtime library director and benefactor Edgar Weld King,
has been the largest library and main scholarly hub at Miami University since 1966. Open 24
hours a day, you are bound to see students studying, socializing, or even sleeping at any given
hour of the day in King. Comprised of four floors, including the basement, students are expected to
meet the noise level expectations of each floor; students should anticipate a more relaxed and loud
experience in the basement whereas the third floor maintains a level of almost absolute silence.
For the past several weeks, I have been observing students and their studying habits in the basement
and cafГ© area of King Library. In particular, I have been interested in how the genderof the

No product really has to be a commodity. The trick is to know what services your customers want

ompanies that sell soap, perfume, candy bars, and other consumer products are expert at
decommoditizing them: finding and capturing the value of intangible benefits and building
strong brand names that can provide a kind of differentiation in the minds of consumers. But
companies that sell products such as bulk chemicals, paper, and steel to businesses tend to be

The company managed to increase its sales by 15 percent in a single year by determining which
important attributes it was best at providing and focusing on the buyers that valued them most.
Conjoint analysis and needs based segmentation
So many companies segment their customers by size and other such criteria because this approach
is easy to carry out, and the companies falling into these gross categories do tend to have similar
needs. But to have a truly actionable segmentation scheme, you must divide your customers into
much more precise groupings based specifically on their needs.
SHEDDING THE COMMODITY MIND SET
81
In the business to consumer (B2C) market, this kind of segmentation is often quite hard to
undertake because the obvious differences among customers age, income, geography, and so on
usually don t correspond to their preferences for, say, shampoos, books, or even clothing. To solve
this problem, consumer goods companies have developed elaborate statistical mechanisms, such as
dual objective segmentation.1 But because these complicated algorithms are not typically used by
business to business (B2B) suppliers, those companies divide their world by weak identifiers
such as size and geography. The good news is that B2B companies don t necessarily need to use
elaborate and sophisticated methods; only a large consumer goods customer base often comprising
millions of individuals demands them. In many B2B markets, 25, 15, or even just 10 customers

In 1958, the Great Leap Forward was launched to improve the changes of China s economy from

Comparing Oxygen And The Larynx
Oxygen and The Larynx
Both in Mary Oliver s Oxygen and Alice Jones s The Larynx use the same central idea that bodily
functions can do so much for a person. In Oxygen the poet describes how the character has had a
breathing issue their whole life and has an oxygen machine to help them breath well, and it is
beautiful (Oliver 824). In The Larynx the poet describes how singing requires the strength and
ability to make the body an instrument. Both poems use the body to make something beautiful, for
better or for worse. In Oxygen , the speaker is about a family member of someone who has an ill
breathing problem. The speaker describes that seeing the family member try to breath with a lack
of air as the fire, stirring with a stick of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The speaker goes into great detail on how the larynx is compounded, with elegant jargon. The
central theme of the poem is that singing is more than a talent, and the poem uses imagery to
show how from the bottom of the larynx, Under the epiglottis flap, the long ridged tube sinks, its
shaft down to the bronchial fork (Jones 829), to the top, where sound is produced, is a process;
here the cords arch, in the hollow of this ancient instrument, curve and vibrate to make a song
(Jones 829). Just like in Oxygen , there is no rhyme scheme. But unlike Oxygen , The Larynx is
written as one long sentence. This is called a syntactical structure, this is used because, when
reading out loud, it requires the reader to draw their attention to there own breath and attempt to
space out the words to take breaths. The tone and mood of the poem also has a reaction witht e
reader. It helps the reader appricate the poem when speaking out loud through the word choice and
diction. The poem also uses metephores and imagry, like Oxygen, but also uses similys as well;

Social Media s Role In Presidential Campaigns
Social media websites have been gaining popularity and record amounts of users since the early

key components in the election of the president and their time in office. This importance can

Analysis Of Vic Gatrell s The Hanging Tree Essay
Vic Gatrell s The Hanging Tree explores the opinions of average and lower class citizens on public
hangings on England from 1770 until 1868 rather than the opinions of bureaucrats, royalty, and
other elites as many similar histories do. He argues that the opinions of lower class citizens grew
more and more unfavorable during this time, and the movement of executions to a private setting in
the 1860s was a direct result of the diminishing support for public executions. At the same time, the
gradual shift among elites and other government officials toward the abolishment of public
executions was a reaction against increasingly unruly crowds and the squeamishness toward the
spectacle of the execution (67). This book is organized into six sections with a total of 21 chapters.
The first section describes the mentality of the audience present at public executions, and the
second section covers the private opinions of plebian, or lower class citizens on execution. The
third section defends Gatrell s argument that the outlawing of public executions was more of a
solution to large rioting crowds than it was for humanitarian purposes. The fourth and fifth sections
offer detailed accounts of specific court cases that demonstrate the unfairness and ineffectiveness of
the Blood Code and public execution in England. Finally, the sixth section contains Gatrell s
argument against those who deem themselves reformers who, in Gatrell s opinion, only reformed
out of self interest to dispel

The Effectiveness of the Criminal Justice System in...
The reservation of the Convention on the Rights of a Child (CROC) had played invaluable role in
charging the way in which young offenders are dealt with within the Australia Criminal Process.
Including the introduction of the theory known as Doli Incapax meaning the age of criminal
reasonability, the Young Offender Act 1997 NSW as well new law regarding the rights of a child
once they have been arrested. It is evident that these while some of charges are still ineffective in
dealing with Young Offenders within the Criminal JusticeSystem the majority of them are in place
for the greater good and are assisting young offenders when it relates to the Criminal Justice System.
Doli Incapax is just one of the ways in which children are now treated more equally under the
law. According to the theory it is presumption that children are incapable of having criminal
intent which in terms means that children under the age of 10 are unable to be charge with any
criminal offence and when relating to children 10 to 13 the prosecution make be able to show
that the child at the time of the alleged offence actually know what they were doing was seriously

Explain How Individuals Are Taught To Become Good Leaders

different kinds of leaders. I also think leaders can be taught by learning from examples set forth
from other great leaders.
2.Now, use the Internet and find at least three articles or sites that discuss leadership. Based on your

Based on the information that I found leadership means a person who is able to motivate, direct
others to achieve goals and inspire along the way. One of the practices that stood out to me was
helping people to achieve what they think is the impossible. Another practice I found to be

Courtroom Interaction Essay
Courtroom interaction consists of interpretive aspects opened to the audience and jury. However,
courtroom accounts of events can be judged by common sense knowledge. In addition, cross
examinations rely on assessing the truth and invalidating the other accounts. It is problematic for
jurors due to common sense bases allowing desired influences to effect the verdict. When one is
interrogated during courtroom interaction, the turns are either designed to imply blame or justify
an action. For instance, a transcript of a 1979 case begins with a pre allocation in the form of a yes
no question. However, once the witness failed to comply with the turns, the council repeated the
question and enforced the yes no order. To illustrate, a member... Show more content on

The first pair is adjacency pairs , which anticipate the answers to be said by their second pair parts.
Together, these two pair parts are complementary through conditional relevance (Goodwin Duranti,
622). If the second pair part response were to not be given, it is then interpreted to be not present.
This can be simplified to expectations of explicit requests. If a request is made, the premade
response is a yes . When the response is unfavorable, the turn is then modified to restate the
preferred answer. In addition, when interrogating a witness, the courtroom uses agreement to format
a basis of reasoning for the accusation. (624). For instance, the witness s response to the amount of
petrol bombs thrown was only a couple . This response lessons the severity of the incident.
Following the response of how many bombs were dropped, the witness continues to add on to the
response; which contained too much information being said. Because too much information was
given for a simple question, it displays how the witness felt potentially attacked through that
questioning (624). Thus, courtroom questionings are favored to their own benefit, as well as the
use of using agreement to form potential guilt. To conclude, courtroom interaction through context
in courtroom talk can differ. Interpretation of the audience can be swayed by common sense
knowledge, structure of turn by turn organization of talk, and general

Does the Pharmaceutical Industry Have Too Much Power in Law and Healthcare?
The pharmaceutical industry has been taking advantage of healthcare by implementing laws
modeled to benefit the industry greatly, while consumers have struggled. The drug industry uses
their own sources and self sponsored research to further their influence in healthcare. Although the
pharmaceutical industry provides healthcare with good medical resources, it is highly costly for
consumers due to the manipulation of laws and healthcare. The industry is biased and sponsors its
own research to gain more funding, which typically goes to waste. Science is always looking to
improve, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The amount that companies are spending is also a big factor that contributes to the issue, most
start out companies are seen getting ideas and research from universities and other companies, but
these companies typically do not utilize them the way they should. Again this is because laws put
in place by the industry prevent them from doing so. Price controls that reduce prices too low
reduce output and capacity, lower the quality of the services that are provided, and diminish the
incentives for innovation, including ongoing R D . The industry has no excuse however, because
the manipulation of drug prices has almost backfired on them. People have become aware that the
pricing is ridiculously high, and the industry is quite getting everything they need. The industry has
created most of the problems they are trying to solve today and continue to seemingly make worse
the problems on purpose. Pharmaceutical companies are struggling to appease the public because
of the laws the industry have implemented, smaller companies usually fail because of the needs for
profit, and other needs to keep companies alive. Pharmaceutical companies have been taking
advantage of the public and taxpayer money for decades, with legislation allowing

Diabetes Education Curriculum Analysis
When designing an educational class for newly diagnosed diabetics in the community, the
curriculum should incorporate active teaching, learning theories, creativity, fun and experiential
learning. A comprehensive curriculum is fundamental to the education of a well prepared and
clinically effective educator (Neidorf, 2012). This curriculum is consistent with the American
Diabetes Association (ADA) concept of diabetes educationand empower people with diabetes and
healthcare team members in an effort to improve prevention strategies and diabetes outcomes
(2013). In addition, a curriculum can serve as a mechanism to facilitate the delivery of diabetes
education standards, provide for consistent preparation of healthcare team members, and support...

Security Guards And The Security Field
There are many different types of security guards, those who are armed compared to those who
are not, those who patrol and those who sit behind a desk watching visitors entering and exiting a
building. There are many different types of sites that require different types of security coverage;
but the task remains the same across the board; to patrol, or monitor on CCTV (closed circuit
television) in order to fight crime and terrorism. (Slideshare, 2012)
Security guards are a necessity to have in today s world, with the security force around; working
with the police at times it has expanded the areas where there may be a shortage of officers for
coverage. (Sapse, 2013)
With security there are many different kinds of tasks that are involved depending on where you
work. Report writing is a must in the security field this is where daily activities or any problems
are written down; things like fires, property damage, theft, explosions, or even espionage. To either
monitor the CCTV or go on foot patrols, integrating with the people inside the facility while
checking for anything out of the ordinary; like fires, bombs, or floods. To monitor anyone entering
or exiting the property and guarding against any theft while maintaining a level of security that
meets the client s expectations. To know when to call the police, fire or rescue if an emergency

Don t Get Wasted By Chronic Wasting Disease
Don t Get Wasted by Chronic Wasting Disease Can you imagine the impact of a fatal disease on
a population? Chronic Wasting Disease, or CWD for short, is a prime example in the whitetail
deer herd. CWD is a fatal neurological disease, more specifically known as a type of transmissible
spongiform encephalopathies (TSEs). In deer, this disease causes a characteristic spongy
degeneration of the brains of infected animals, resulting in emaciation, excessive drinking and
urination, abnormal behavior, loss of bodily functions, and death (Witkowski 3). With the
discovery of Chronic Wasting Disease the question arises what exactly is this disease and how
detrimental has and will CWD be on the population of whitetail deer? Chronic Wasting Disease...

CWD was quickly on the rise and overtaking large areas of land, making it hard to suppress the
condition in a small area. Instead of spending money on methods not proven to contain the disorder,
the Wisconsin DNR decided to further research Chronic Wasting Disease and how it was spread.
Scientists determined that CWD transmission occurs when disease prions are shed by infected
animals through saliva, urine, feces and natural decomposition after death. A prionis the agent that
transmits TSE category diseases. In addition, CWD prions are extremely resistant to the
environment, and transmission may occur directly between animals or indirectly between
uninfected animals and the environment (Witkowski 3). Thus, the disease is highly contagious, as
the prions are very hardy and can survive nearly anywhere. The prions adhere and bind to the
substrate using competitive inhibition, or when the inhibitor binds to the active site on the
substrate, kicking off and not allowing the enzyme that would normally bind to attach there. As a
result, the infectious prion takes over and is what causes the transmission of the disease. Also,
because the sickness is spread through feces and saliva, everywhere an infected deer eats or walks
throughout the day may contain traces of contamination. Supplementary, CWD is an unfailingly
fatal brain disease. Once a deer contracts the fatal illness, the life expectancy ranges anywhere from
18 to 20 months. Deer typically look healthy the first 16

Role Of Women In Rigveda
Though women were suppressed from the ancient period, whenever there was a possibility they
have raised their voice and asked their rights. The best example is that the conversation between
Yama and Yami. Yami expressed her physical desire over her brother Yama however, he refused her
opinion. It shows that women had freedom to express her feelings and opinion in the family. In
Rigveda some of the Rishikas name mentioned are Aditi, Indramatalu, Indrani, Urvasi, Ghosa, Juhu,
Bharadvaja, Ratri, Surya,Viswavara etc. Among those women, Viswavara and Ghosa were
considered as historical characters. It gives an idea about that some of the Rishika were fighting for
their place and identity in the society. Then also, the brahminical tradition repressed the voice of
women. At the outset Hindu Brahmanical tradition denied women the right to asceticism. On the
other hand, after many centuries, Bhakti movement... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Descriptive Essay On Fitness
Chillin with Dillon As I knocked on the heavy, black door to our local fitness center, I stood and
waited as a woman put down her dumb bells and made her way over to the door to let me in. The
moment I entered the gym I immediately noticed the smell of rubber mats and disinfectant spray.
I sat quietly in the single black chair placed by the door, watching a few people silently do their
workouts, as I waited for Jess Dillon to be done with her last client of the day so we could talk.
Soon, a small, petite woman, who seemed no taller than 5 3 walked out of the back room wearing
black workout pants along with a light pink tank top. She had her short, dark hair up in a
ponytail and met my gaze with a soft smile. I immediately recognized her as Jess and followed
her out of the gym. We walked through a brown door placed on the far west side of the fitness
center which led to the lobby area outside of her private lessons studio. It was clean and had a
calming aroma. There was a single wooden table with four matching chairs placed around it. Jess
sat down very comfortably on the far side of a table, talking with ease from the very beginning.
Jess is an outstanding woman in our small community due to her hard worth ethic, belief in others,
and confidence to overcome any obstacle she faces. Jess wasted no time as she began to explain
everything she was active in throughout our community. The small town she has grown to love

The presentation lacked three points that would have helped us make a better evaluation on Tata s
global strategy and helped their presentation be more credible. Firstly, the presentation did not
address the different car models that currently exist and ones that Tata plans to launch in the future.
As Tata goes into the United States and European market, the cars do not have to be at the $2,500
price point since the lowest car prices in United States, for example, is about $9,000. Considering
this, Tata can add more necessary features and increase their price (and margins) by charging
between $5000 and $9,000. Second thing that the presentation could have addressed is the
synergies Tata can obtain from their Jaguar and Land Rover business, in terms of distribution
channels, international markets, etc. At the same time, the negative impacts a low end Tata Nano
will have on Tata s high end Jaguar and Land Rover needed to be mentioned. Thirdly, the
presentation needed to compare Tata to one of its competitors, Sitara. Sitara was launched in
Pakistan at about the same price range and targeted the same markets, competing against two
wheelers. Pakistan s consumer behavior is similar to that of India, so by studying why Sitara only
sold about 500 models and failed can help us mitigate these risk and failures when launching and
expanding Tata.
The team recommended entering the EU and the US markets. Our team came to the conclusion that

Impact Of The Emancipation Proclamation
The Emancipation Proclamation: The Union s Greatest Asset
The Emancipation Proclamation was a document issued by President Lincoln, that emancipated
slaves, and slowly crippled the Confederacy during the Civil War, due to how it affected the south
economically and diplomatically. In the beginning of the Civil War, although, the Union possessed
a larger, better equipped army, the Confederacy managed to secure victories on the battlefield. The
war, which was thought to be a short one, lasted longer than expected. President Lincoln was quoted
in 1862 about the Union s war efforts, saying, the bottom was out of the tub (Mast). This basically
meant that the Union s economic situation was strained due to the war, and the military wasn t
having the success that he had envisioned. President Abraham Lincoln was under immense pressure
to give the military and Northern citizens hope that the war could be won by the Union. On March
4, 1861, Abraham Lincoln was elected as the 16th President of the United States. Southern
politicians assumed that Lincoln would not take steps to abolish slavery immediately, they were
correct, he didn t, but they pondered on whether he would change his mind in the years to come. It
was a well known fact that President Lincoln did not agree with slavery, and the southern states felt
threatened by this. While some southern states opted to secede from the Union, Lincoln, who was
against with the secession from the Union, decided not to take

everyone is in their own lives trying to make it the best as they can, they all do not realize how
unsatisfied one of the characters may be with their lives. Throughout this paper we will be able
to see the similarities of these plays. These two plays were chosen to be compared due to the
position the characters were placed in, due to their times and where they were living at in those
times. Hedda Gabler is based on a life of a woman who is viewed to have all she needs... Show

The Assessment Of Osborne And Waters
In statistical tests, we must rely on assumptions regarding the variables we used in the analysis. If
these assumptions are not met we may arrive at results that are incorrect, or not representative of
the population, typically due to a Type I or a Type II error, or an over or under estimation of
significance or effect size. Osborne and Waters (n.d., p. 1) quote an 1997 article by Pedhazur stating
Knowledge and understanding of the situations when violations of assumptions lead to serious
biases, and when they are of little consequence, are essential to meaningful data analysis which
while a very important point, really only holds importance when researchers test assumptions, an
important step in data analysis that is rarely performed.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These tests give researchers information about normality, while the K S tests provide inferential
statistics on normality. One of the best tests for outliers is a visual inspection of histograms, as
well as frequency distributions or converting data to z scores. The removal of univariate and
bivariate outliers can reduce the probability of Type I and Type II errors, which improve the
accuracy of some estimates. It is important to consider that removing outliers is not always
desirable, in which case transformations can improve normality. This can complicate the
interpretation of the results, and therefore should only be used deliberately and in an informed
manner. To accurately estimate the relationship between dependent and independent variables using
standard multiple regression, these relationships must be linear in nature. This is why it is so
important to examine analyses for non linear data, as non linear data will result in a regression
analysis that under estimates the true relationship. Under estimation carries some risk, in
particular an increased chance of Type II errors for the independent variable, and in the case of
multiple regression, an increased risk of Type I errors (over estimation) for other independent
variables that share variance with that variable. There are a few primary ways to detect non
linearity in the data. The use of theory or previous research can be used to inform current analyses,

In general, more than 800 million people go to bed hungry each day. Many people all around the

will rapidly decrease. More needs to be done to prevent world hunger by farmers increasing crop

  • 4. Pathogen And Biological Agent That Causes Disease There is no such thing as a perfect pathogen. Discuss A pathogen can be defined as a microorganism or a biological agent that causes disease. Pathogen s sole aim is to replicate and produce progeny to pass its genes on to; therefore the notion of a perfect pathogen would be an organism that has the capacity to carry out this task. The major classes of infectious agents are bacteria, virus, protozoa, fungi and even prions (Albert B, 2002) . In order to be considered perfect a pathogen would have to possess many characteristic such as being highly contagious, rapidly shed, evoking limited immunity, constantly evolving and only moderately virulent, allowing most of the infect to recover, which means a larger pool of susceptible host (J.Hall, 2012). The host immune system protects us from most infection. However pathogens must overcome this in order to survive, and they have developed many adaptations to achieve this. The first ordeal that a pathogen must overcome biochemical and physical barriers that operates at the body surface such as the skin in order to gain entry. The skin is normally impermeable to majority of the pathogen and the mucosal layer also provides a barrier (Richard V Goering, 2008). Virus and bacteria can break through the first line defence in many ways such as through openings of the ears, mouth or nose. Wounds, abrasion are also sites of entry as they are an opening in the barrier many virulent pathogens utilise this including streptococci, Leptospira ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Voltaire Candide Analysis Angeliene Pax Professor Daniel Johnson History 165 19 October 2014 Analysis Paper #2 In 1726 Voltaire was beaten by a nobleman s servants and was imprisoned without trial. He asked to be exiled to England and lived there for two years; he learned to admire England s society. He wrote letters, Candide , and Treatise on Tolerance in response to French and other European societies. In Voltaires excerpts he argued for religious toleration, separation of state and church, and basic human rights. Religion was never easily tolerable for most societies. People have been killed for their beliefs; people have gone at war for their beliefs, and now we have people like Voltaire, who wants people of different religions to have toleration for one... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... During Voltaire s time, France was run by the Vatican and its Roman Catholic Church. Under the Catholic Church there was no freedom of speech or religion. If the Church said it was a sin, then under the government s eye it was a crime. Voltaire argued that human rights were the government s main priority and that people should not be bound to a religion that they are not acceptant of. Indulgences were popular in European society. It was believed one could pay their sins away and the indulgence revenue would go back to the church as well as the government. Voltaire also found this to be corrupt in European society, to use religion as a way to create revenue for the state. It would also allow clergymen to be exempt from taxes. No one is exempted in this country from paying certain taxes because he is a nobleman or a priest. All duties and taxes are settled by the House of Commons, whose power is greater than that of the Peers, though inferior to it in dignity said Voltaire. It is known that taxes are a type of revenue used for the benefit of all its society, whether it is goods, safety, or other services. Since it s used to benefit all classes of society, Voltaire argues that everyone should pay it as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Clean Edge Analysis Essay Position Statement: Paramount Health and Beauty wants to launch a new razor into the market currently referred to as Clean Edge. The project team recommends that the company should position the product as a distinct mainstream product, dubbing it Clean Edge by Paramount in order to produce growth in sales from new product innovation. The importance of placing the product in a mainstream position is to successfully launch an innovative product creating more market share for Paramount and for Clean Edge to become the most sought out razor in the industry. Failing to take this route and deciding to position the product in a niche would only give the new product a limited amount of consumers, preventing Clean Edge from reaching its ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Clean Edge by Paramount gives customers a clear perception of the advantages of the product without being concerned about other product categories. Critique of Rejected Options There are several reasons why the project team should reject the first option in positioning Clean Edge in a niche. The first reason concerns the pricing strategy. Placing the product in a niche position would make the razor more expensive in the retail sense. Catering to the more involved groomers places the product at a suggested retail price at $12.99. Placing the product at a higher price in the niche position could only lead Clean Edge Razor to a limited market. Rosenberg suggested placing the product in the niche position for a year or two; however, this could lead to prevention in attracting a wider customer base for the product during that time frame. Another reason Paramount should not place in the niche position is their significantly low marketing budget compared to their competitors. In just media advertising alone, Radiance spent $16 million on Naiv. For Clean Edge, the cost for advertising for the niche position would only be $7 million. Because Radiance is spending more than twice as much on their advertising compared to what Paramount would spend in the niche position, Radiance would gain an advantage in covering more ground to promote its product. As far as product naming is concerned, Paramount ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. William Edward Deming on Quality Today, if one were to ask for the definition of quality amongst the general public, one would expect to hear several different answers. Some believe quality is doing things the right way, while others may find that quality is fitness for purpose or meeting a customer s expectations. (Dewark, 2014) Many businesses and customers have their own definition of qualitythat may be acceptable because there is no all encompassing way to describe it. But the diverse responses one would receive today truly represent how much the concept of quality has grown and expanded. In contrast, after World War II (WWII), many businesses and customers had minimal understanding of what quality truly was. It was after WWII that people began to put a more concentrated emphasis on quality, and one of the many great advocates to bring about this change was William Edward Deming. (Stevenson, 2011) Deming devoted much of his life to understanding and improving quality, from his time and work in Japan to Deming s development of quality philosophies, and today Deming is revered amongst businesspeople around the world for his advancements in the field of quality. Deming was born in Iowa on October 14, 1900 on a farm to an agricultural family. Deming studied at several different universities and earned degrees in engineering and mathematics as well as a Ph.D. in physics from Yale University. (London Continuum, 2006) Due to his intellect and background in agriculture, Deming worked for the U.S. Department ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Mark allowed or agreed with Sean Parker that Eduardo had to be punished for freezing the account linked to the company but in the process betrayed the friendship between himself and Eduardo. Even though Mark may have not been on hundred percent on the decision of dropping Eduardo s share, he still decided to betray his loyalty of Eduardo by choosing Sean instead, who in the end also betrays Mark. In this case, it seems that most friendships in The Social Network were never meant to survive; all were meant to crash and burn. For Holden, he basically expects most people to betray him, he expects most people to be phoneys and expects all innocence to be lost in most children. Holden constantly feels betrayed with most of the other characters in the story, which could definitely be a main cause to his mental problems. Early in the novel, Mr Spencer betrays him. He was one of the few teachers at his school that Holden could relate with and trust. Spencer had told Holden of his expulsion, and Holden felt betrayed by his teacher. When Holden returns home to see Phoebe, his young sister, she is disappointed in him that he had failed to stay in Pency. He thinks that she should accept and be loyal to him unconditionally, so he feels betrayed. This shows that Holden really could not depend on anyone because ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Employment Of A Vital Labor And Employment Law A vital labor and employment law is the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, also known as the ADEA. The law was enacted in 1967 and later amended. On the Unites States EEOC website, they write, ADEA protects individuals who are 40 years of age or older from employment discrimination based on age. (The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, 2008) The law is meant to safeguard workers from being discriminated against due to their age. The law is especially important now with workers staying on the job longer and retirees returning to the workforce after retirement. The EEOC states, The law applies to employers with 20 or more employees, including state and local governments. It also applies to employment agencies and labor organizations, as well as to the federal government. (The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, 2008) Age discriminationcan come in many forms in the business world. First, employment advertisements brings the attention of work seeking people. An employer can use certain words in their employment advertisements that can keep older workers from applying to the job, as an example: young, recent college graduate, youthful, and etc. An employer using these words can open them to discrimination lawsuits. Permo-Triassic Mass Extinction Essay The Permo Triassic mass extinction: what died out LIFE IN THE SEA Fusulinid foraminifera disappeared completely, although other foram groups suffered much lower levels of extinction. Palaeozoic corals (Rugosa and Tabulata) also vanished. Stenolaemate bryozoans and articulate brachiopods suffered near complete extinction. The extant echinoderm groups all experienced severe bottlenecks at this time: only two lineages of crinoids and echinoids made it into the Mesozoic. I spent thirteen out of my eighteen years of my life cheerleading and it is definitely something that means a lot to me. Being on the cheer mat whether at practice or at competition has taught me many life lessons that I will cherish for the rest of my life. Having such caring and dedicated coaches made my experience so special and unique. My passion for cheerleading shows tremendously as soon as I step on the mat, and learning many life lessons from cheer has shaped me into the person I am today. In competitive cheerleading stunting is one of the most important things in a cheer routine. Stunting is something every team wants to be the best at, but it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to be the best. Throughout a majority of my cheerleading career I was a base. A base is the girl at the bottom of the partner stunt/pyramid who lifts up the flyer. I loved to base. I had lots of experience as a base and it became very easy to me. Coming on to the high school competition cheer team as a freshman, I knew there was a lot of new things I would have to learn as a base. I was very motivated and dedicated to be the best base I could be and that took lots of practice. The next year, coming onto the team as a sophomore my coaches had the idea for me to become a flyer. Logical Fallacies In Carleen Turner s Letter Logical Fallacies: Carleen Turner letter In her letter, Carleen Turner is telling about her son, Brock Turner and asks the judge to be kind and merciful to her son. It is obvious that Carleen Turner was writing the letter with the strong emotions, and the emotions in the letter are much stronger than a logical constituent. The first logical fallacy, begging the claim, one can see at the beginning of the letter. Carleen Turner is writing to the judge that she want to introduce you to my son, Brock Turner the REAL Brock Allen Turner (Turner 1). The emotional story of the mother who evidently will try to show her son from the better side hardly will show the more real figure of Brock Turner than the materials of the case that shows him from the different sides and which the judge obviously have seen. When discussed, people have disputed on whether the flavors in the candy bars are tastier, which candy bar is healthier, and which has more appeal in advertising.Even though Snickers and Twix bars are made by the same company (Mars) they are very different. Snickersfans might say that Snickers bars are the best because they have peanuts in the bar, this might be true for the majority people, but not those with allergies. This evidence proves that Twix is the best candy bar. One of the reasons that people think that Twix is the best candy bar is its overall appeal. Furthermore, the wafer adds to the overall appeal. The University of California held on to the belief that black people should have access to black doctors. However, if the University were to go on a sole merit system then the number of special admittees would diminish along with the aforementioned belief. The Persuaders Rhetorical Analysis When I was a kid in school, I was told that there were the basic things that you needed like clothes and food and there were the things that you maybe want but don t really need. Advertisements do not have any effects on what we need. We don t watch and add about how we need to eat food to stay alive; we have hunger for that. However, Advertisements greatly affect what we want. Do we want basic cereal or the fancy kind that athletes promote, or can we live with a plain shirt or do we want the one with a guy riding a horse emblem? These want that stray away from our basic needs are all driven by advertisement. No one is born wanting a Gucci shirt, they are taught and conditioned to want one. This is because advertisement is inherently a form of media, but instead of trying to interaction the audience, it propagates a propaganda for a specific item. You can look at the theories about mass media consumption and apply it to advertisements. For example, in the dawn of mass media it was thought that the hypodermic needle theory, or magic bullet theory, was how audiences reacted to the media. This theory stated that when an audience consumed a certain facet of media like a radio talk show, the media content would be directly injected into the audience. Conjoint analysis and needs based segmentation So many companies segment their customers by size and other such criteria because this approach is easy to carry out, and the companies falling into these gross categories do tend to have similar needs. But to have a truly actionable segmentation scheme, you must divide your customers into much more precise groupings based speciп¬Ѓcally on their needs. SHEDDING THE COMMODITY MIND SET 81 In the business to consumer (B2C) market, this kind of segmentation is often quite hard to undertake because the obvious differences among customers age, income, geography, and so on usually don t correspond to their preferences for, say, shampoos, books, or even clothing. To solve this problem, consumer goods companies have developed elaborate statistical mechanisms, such as dual objective segmentation.1 But because these complicated algorithms are not typically used by business to business (B2B) suppliers, those companies divide their world by weak identiп¬Ѓers such as size and geography. The good news is that B2B companies don t necessarily need to use elaborate and sophisticated methods; only a large consumer goods customer base often comprising millions of individuals demands them. The central theme of the poem is that singing is more than a talent, and the poem uses imagery to show how from the bottom of the larynx, Under the epiglottis flap, the long ridged tube sinks, its shaft down to the bronchial fork (Jones 829), to the top, where sound is produced, is a process; here the cords arch, in the hollow of this ancient instrument, curve and vibrate to make a song (Jones 829). Just like in Oxygen , there is no rhyme scheme. But unlike Oxygen , The Larynx is written as one long sentence. This is called a syntactical structure, this is used because, when reading out loud, it requires the reader to draw their attention to there own breath and attempt to space out the words to take breaths. The tone and mood of the poem also has a reaction witht e reader. It helps the reader appricate the poem when speaking out loud through the word choice and diction. Social Media s Role In Presidential Campaigns Social media websites have been gaining popularity and record amounts of users since the early 2000s, but in recent years social media has started to have an important role in presidential campaigns. Barack Obama, president of the United States from 2009 to 2017, is regarded as the first social media president and since his time in office, the use of social media has only continued to expand. The use of websites such as Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube have become key components in the election of the president and their time in office. This importance can particularly be seen by examining the most recent presidential election in 2016. • 34. Analysis Of Vic Gatrell s The Hanging Tree Essay Vic Gatrell s The Hanging Tree explores the opinions of average and lower class citizens on public hangings on England from 1770 until 1868 rather than the opinions of bureaucrats, royalty, and other elites as many similar histories do. He argues that the opinions of lower class citizens grew more and more unfavorable during this time, and the movement of executions to a private setting in the 1860s was a direct result of the diminishing support for public executions. At the same time, the gradual shift among elites and other government officials toward the abolishment of public executions was a reaction against increasingly unruly crowds and the squeamishness toward the spectacle of the execution (67). This book is organized into six sections with a total of 21 chapters. The first section describes the mentality of the audience present at public executions, and the second section covers the private opinions of plebian, or lower class citizens on execution. The third section defends Gatrell s argument that the outlawing of public executions was more of a solution to large rioting crowds than it was for humanitarian purposes. The fourth and fifth sections offer detailed accounts of specific court cases that demonstrate the unfairness and ineffectiveness of the Blood Code and public execution in England. Finally, the sixth section contains Gatrell s argument against those who deem themselves reformers who, in Gatrell s opinion, only reformed out of self interest to dispel ... The reservation of the Convention on the Rights of a Child (CROC) had played invaluable role in charging the way in which young offenders are dealt with within the Australia Criminal Process. Including the introduction of the theory known as Doli Incapax meaning the age of criminal reasonability, the Young Offender Act 1997 NSW as well new law regarding the rights of a child once they have been arrested. It is evident that these while some of charges are still ineffective in dealing with Young Offenders within the Criminal JusticeSystem the majority of them are in place for the greater good and are assisting young offenders when it relates to the Criminal Justice System. Doli Incapax is just one of the ways in which children are now treated more equally under the law. According to the theory it is presumption that children are incapable of having criminal intent which in terms means that children under the age of 10 are unable to be charge with any criminal offence and when relating to children 10 to 13 the prosecution make be able to show that the child at the time of the alleged offence actually know what they were doing was seriously wrong. (1500 characters) Before entering my master s program at Tulane University School of Medicine (TUSOM), I had the chance to volunteer in the surgical department at Providence Willamette Falls Medical Center (PWFMC). While volunteering, the majority of my patient interactions involved helping patients in any way possible, which usually meant simply talking with and comforting them. After all, most patients do not choose to be in the hospital and are to some extent afraid. They become scared as they attempt to contemplate the personal and financial costs of their ailments for both themselves and their loved ones. This awareness was further highlighted studying, observing, and volunteering at TUSOM. Most notably, shadowing Dr. Douglas Slakey, a surgical specialist, and his team in the gastrointestinal (GI) clinic at Tulane Medical Center. Witnessing Dr. Slakey explain the surgical options for a pancreatic cancer patient and their family was saddening, but it also reiterated crucial aspects of the profession. Most importantly, patients and their family members may not fully understand their ailments; as physicians do with years of training and experience. However, courtroom accounts of events can be judged by common sense knowledge. In addition, cross examinations rely on assessing the truth and invalidating the other accounts. It is problematic for jurors due to common sense bases allowing desired influences to effect the verdict. When one is interrogated during courtroom interaction, the turns are either designed to imply blame or justify an action. For instance, a transcript of a 1979 case begins with a pre allocation in the form of a yes no question. However, once the witness failed to comply with the turns, the council repeated the question and enforced the yes no order. To illustrate, a member... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Together, these two pair parts are complementary through conditional relevance (Goodwin Duranti, 622). If the second pair part response were to not be given, it is then interpreted to be not present. This can be simplified to expectations of explicit requests. If a request is made, the premade response is a yes . When the response is unfavorable, the turn is then modified to restate the preferred answer. In addition, when interrogating a witness, the courtroom uses agreement to format a basis of reasoning for the accusation. (624). For instance, the witness s response to the amount of petrol bombs thrown was only a couple . This response lessons the severity of the incident. Following the response of how many bombs were dropped, the witness continues to add on to the response; which contained too much information being said. Because too much information was given for a simple question, it displays how the witness felt potentially attacked through that questioning (624). Thus, courtroom questionings are favored to their own benefit, as well as the use of using agreement to form potential guilt. To conclude, courtroom interaction through context in courtroom talk can differ. The prions adhere and bind to the substrate using competitive inhibition, or when the inhibitor binds to the active site on the substrate, kicking off and not allowing the enzyme that would normally bind to attach there. Firstly, the presentation did not address the different car models that currently exist and ones that Tata plans to launch in the future. As Tata goes into the United States and European market, the cars do not have to be at the $2,500 price point since the lowest car prices in United States, for example, is about $9,000. Considering this, Tata can add more necessary features and increase their price (and margins) by charging between $5000 and $9,000. The war, which was thought to be a short one, lasted longer than expected. President Lincoln was quoted in 1862 about the Union s war efforts, saying, the bottom was out of the tub (Mast). This basically meant that the Union s economic situation was strained due to the war, and the military wasn t having the success that he had envisioned. President Abraham Lincoln was under immense pressure to give the military and Northern citizens hope that the war could be won by the Union. On March 4, 1861, Abraham Lincoln was elected as the 16th President of the United States. Southern politicians assumed that Lincoln would not take steps to abolish slavery immediately, they were correct, he didn t, but they pondered on whether he would change his mind in the years to come. It was a well known fact that President Lincoln did not agree with slavery, and the southern states felt threatened by this. While some southern states opted to secede from the Union, Lincoln, who was against with the secession from the Union, decided not to take ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 52. Comparing Cabaret And Hedda Gabler These two plays may seem as if they have differences for example one is a musical which is Cabaret, but they have similarities and many ways also. These two plays set into the lives of individuals who are not satisfied with their lives, even though society may assume so. Since everyone is in their own lives trying to make it the best as they can, they all do not realize how unsatisfied one of the characters may be with their lives. Throughout this paper we will be able to see the similarities of these plays. These two plays were chosen to be compared due to the position the characters were placed in, due to their times and where they were living at in those times. Hedda Gabler is based on a life of a woman who is viewed to have all she needs... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... People always seem to be happy with their lives and since they have it all there should be no reason for them to be miserable. Although these two women seemed to have it all, they were not happy at all. Their past had marked them, and how they were presently living was not what they wanted. They both end up in relationships they were not satisfied with as they were not living the lives they wanted. They did not love the men, they were living with. They once were able to live the life, but once they started living with the men they were with, all they did was stay at home. • 54. The Assessment Of Osborne And Waters In statistical tests, we must rely on assumptions regarding the variables we used in the analysis. If these assumptions are not met we may arrive at results that are incorrect, or not representative of the population, typically due to a Type I or a Type II error, or an over or under estimation of significance or effect size. Osborne and Waters (n.d., p. 1) quote an 1997 article by Pedhazur stating Knowledge and understanding of the situations when violations of assumptions lead to serious biases, and when they are of little consequence, are essential to meaningful data analysis which while a very important point, really only holds importance when researchers test assumptions, an important step in data analysis that is rarely performed.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These tests give researchers information about normality, while the K S tests provide inferential statistics on normality. One of the best tests for outliers is a visual inspection of histograms, as well as frequency distributions or converting data to z scores. The removal of univariate and bivariate outliers can reduce the probability of Type I and Type II errors, which improve the accuracy of some estimates. It is important to consider that removing outliers is not always desirable, in which case transformations can improve normality. This can complicate the interpretation of the results, and therefore should only be used deliberately and in an informed manner. To accurately estimate the relationship between dependent and independent variables using standard multiple regression, these relationships must be linear in nature. This is why it is so important to examine analyses for non linear data, as non linear data will result in a regression analysis that under estimates the true relationship. Under estimation carries some risk, in particular an increased chance of Type II errors for the independent variable, and in the case of multiple regression, an increased risk of Type I errors (over estimation) for other independent variables that share variance with that variable. There are a few primary ways to detect non linearity in the data. The use of theory or previous research can be used to inform current analyses, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Many people all around the world do not have enough food to eat. If more is not done to prevent world hunger, the population will rapidly decrease. More needs to be done to prevent world hunger by farmers increasing crop production, donating to programs that help the starving, and rationing foodequally. If these basic needs can be attained many lives will be saved. Background Information To begin with, millions of people do not have enough food to eat. Thousands of people every year die from malnutrition. Food has a huge impact on everyday life. In Africa, people survive on using less than one dollar and twenty five cents per day. If they provide the everyday ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Current Situation To start off, many organizations are giving what they can to feed the people that desperately need food. Feed my Starving Children donates years worth of food for families all over the world. Feed my Starving Children is an organization that packs and sends boxes of food to kids that do not have a daily meal. Over the past years, they have given thousands of people a chance to live a better life. The meals that the average person today think are disgusting and small, means life or death to other kids and spread a smile across their faces that no one would ever forget. They donate food to over 70 countries across the world. With the help of their company, making a difference seems easy, but what seems easy is different from what it really is easy. People do still not have enough food to eat. Every minute in Africa, 12 people die from malnutrition. (Senker 12). The population is rapidly decreasing due to lack of malnutrition. Food is readily available in many countries, but in the places where there are food losses, people are suffering major consequences such as death, severely malnourished, and underweight. Even though efforts are being made, it is still not enough to save everybody in need of saving from the bad conditions they are in today. The efforts may help for now, but in the future, nothing will save these need ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
