I could also notice when I was reading through the first chapter that George has a sense of
authority over Lennie, you gonna get that wood . This is like a parent telling a child to do his
chores. On some occasions though George shows a bit of hatred towards Lennie, he thinks of

Imagine that one night you end up sleepwalking and end up killing someone. Sounds crazy doesn t
it? Things like this have actually happened. There are now 68 known cases of homicidal
somnambulism. (BBC) . Homicidal somnambulism is the act of murdering someone while in the
state of sleepwalking. The legal argument for this has been that the defendant was not in their

performance. J.K. Simmons does fine in his role, too, although I would not put this performance up
with his best work by any means. Lastly, since Tzi Ma and Ryan Hurst have smaller, one note/joke
roles, Marlon Wayans does his thing as a loudmouthed, foulmouthed black punk. His shtick quickly
becomes tiresome and annoying, though, as we have seen this character type too many times for it
to provide much amusement.
Though the performances are important, the main reason I watched The Ladykillers was to
begin to get a grasp for the Coen brothers. I was intrigued by the Coens from their work in this
movie. Partly because this is only the second film of theirs I ve seen, but also partly from their
ingeniousness, I never knew what to expect from the camera. This led to a more visually exciting
experience as I leaned forward in my seat in anticipation of the Coens next

It really does not matter because dreams become reality and vice versa in Milkman s world.
The dream of the women in Song of Solomon was to find a man or husband to take care of them.
Ruth thought that by marrying a man with Macon s status, money and ownership of property, she
would live the perfect fairytale life. This dream turns into a nightmare as Macon either ignores her
or raises a hand to strike her. This unhappy marriage often caused Ruth to dream about
