Slightly about Salutation

While starting an Email or Formal Letter, often
we face the difficulties about salutation. Though,
this is silly matter but sometimes it effects
drastically. Today, we will elaborate this tiny
issue through our knowledge sharing session
Dear A, …. Dear A:

The standard way to open a business letter with
Dear, the person’s name and a COLON like this:
  Dear Mr. Ashak:
  Dear Ms. Y:
Dear Mr. X and Mrs. Y:
  Dear Professor Z:
Dear Mr. A, Mrs. B and Ms. C
In Social Business Letter

A social business letter is social rather than
business focused; for example letter of
Condolence, Congratulations & Thank You
Open it with Dear, the person’s name and a
COMMA like this:
Dear D,
Dear Dr. E,
Dear Ms. F,
Last or First Name

If you do not know the readers well or if the letter
or the relationship is formal, use a title and a last
name:
In case of Ashak Hossan:- Dear Mr. Hossan:

Otherwise, use the first name:- Dear Ashak,
Miss or Mrs.

Unless you are certain that a woman prefers Miss
  or Mrs.,

Better, you use the title “Ms.”
Writing to two people

Use both names in your salutation, like:

Dear Mr. G and Mr. H,
             Dear I and J,
Writing 2 Superiors

While writing to several persons, What to write?
Use:
                 Dear Sirs
Confusion in Gender

If you do not know the a person’s gender, use
the full name rather than a title.
                   Example:
Dear Rahim Uddin:
Dear A.K.M. Shamsuzzaman:
Do not know the name

If you do not know the name, avoid “To whom it
may concern”. Instead, use the job title or a
generic greetings:
                   Dear Sir,
                 Dear Madam,
Good 2 Remember

Don'ts: Never spell out this titles:
                Mr., Mrs., Ms., Dr.

  Do’s: Spell out these titles:
Professor, Dean, Sister, Governor, Captain, Judge
