This document describes a road power generator (RPG) that converts the kinetic energy of passing vehicles into electrical energy. The RPG uses a moving plate on the road that captures vehicle movement and transfers it through a crankshaft or roller mechanism to spin flywheels. The flywheel rotation is then used to generate electricity which can be fed into the power grid. The RPG provides a way to capture some of the large amounts of wasted energy from vehicle traffic and convert it to useful electricity.
