Using the ASSURE Method explained and describe in the content material, design a lesson using the
ASSURE method for 1 of the following scenario in a word document and uploaded it to the Assure
assignment Drop Box Provided. In the document you will use the acronym and elaborate on each latter
as it was shown on the examples
2" Teaching Holiday traditions to 4th graders. There are 20 students 11 girls, and 9 boys. There are 2
Muslims, 3 Jewish and 2 African Americans.
A" Analyze Learners
"In this fourth grade class there are 20 students total. Including 11 girls, and 9 boys. There are
2 Muslims, 3 Jewish and 2 African Americans.
S" State Objectives
"The students will name and describe one major Holiday that is traditionally practiced in American
culture, Muslim culture, Jewish culture, and African American culture; they will be able to name and
describe these after seeing pictures, looking at objects used in these holiday traditions and seeing a
power point. The students will do this with 100% accuracy by the end of the week.
S" Select Methods and Media and Materials
The holidays will be voted on and picked by the students out of a group provided to see which holiday
out of each group they want to learn about the most. The students will listen and watch a power point
presentation that will provide information, music and pictures of each of the Holidays the students have
picked. The students will also get to see and touch different materials used in that particular Holiday
tradition. The students will also be participating in a classroom blog where they will comment add
picture and videos of how they felt about the holiday they learned about that day.
U" Utilize Media and Materials
Each day of the week will represent one of the four Holidays that we will be learning about during the
week. The classroom will be decorated with colors and objects found to be used in each Holiday
tradition. The power point will reflect the Holiday traditions the students will be learning that day.
R" Require Learner Participation
At the end of each class the students will be creating a collage of the information they have learned that
day and the Holiday traditions. They will be given magazines, scissors and glue to cut and paste pictures
and words that they think relate to the specific Holiday tradition. At the end of each day the students will
be required to create one blog posting that includes a comment about what they learned and add a
picture from the holiday.
E" Evaluate and Revise
Before each class I will start the class with a video of what we had learned the day before to get the
students thinking of what they had learned. The students will talk about the collage they had created
the day before with a group of their classmates to get them thinking about the day before. Each group
will stand up at the beginning of the class and talk about their collages and what they learned. At the
end of the week they will make a PowerPoint of the information they learned that week and present it
to the class and talk about the information they learned.
