Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

2. CAMERA/ DSLR
• I will be using a Canon DSLR camera in order to
take the images for my focal images within my
magazine production. The camera is easy to use
and understand and will create the best possible
image.
• I will be using manual mode on the camera
settings, as I want to be able to adjust the quality of
the images myself .
Tripod
To ensure that my images are crisp and clear, I will be
using a Tripod in order to prevent any shaking or blurs as a
result of man handling my camera.
The connotations of a crisp clean image would be that of
confidence and authority as it is deemed better than the
rest. This will appeal to both my target audience and my
secondary audience.
3. SOFT BOX
In order to create the best possible image, I will be
using internal professional lighting equipment. These
soft boxes and pattersons will brighten up my image /
models face and or body from all angles. This will
create an image with connotations of happiness and
joy as the model will be lit rather than shadowed.
Patterson's
4. GELS I will be using Filtered colours gels
with my photography equipment. This
will give my image and overall
magazine cover a sense of identity, as
it encourages the house genre with its
colourfully edge. The gels also make
the images look exciting and
interesting, they will appeal to my
target audience as they have
connotations of fun and passion.
Reflector
Reflectors will enable me to focus light onto a
specific area on my models face. By doing this it
will allow me to create the perfect image, creating
shadow where necessary and similarly with the use
of light. These reflectors will enable me to create
high key lighting, which has connotations of
happiness and life.
5. BEAUTY DISH
I will be using a beauty dish too direct light onto my
model. This will help me create my desired image as I
want to create a colourful scene that cannot be done
without the use of gels . These gels will be attached to the
light source on the beauty dish and will send the colourful
light all over the white screen.
6. WHITE SCREEN
I will be using a white screen on my set, to
ensure that my background it clean and
blank. Because I am using coloured gels ,
the use of a white screen will increase the
pigmentation and make the colours more
prominent. The white surface has
connotations of freshness and purity. These
connotations will appeal to my audience as
it is uncluttered and professional looking.
7. PHOTOSHOP
I will be using Photoshop to edit my images for my magazine.
This soft wear will allow me to brighten or darken my images
even more so than I have already done manually. I will also be
able to blur out certain aspects of the image if necessary- this
will ensure that my focal images are perfect and to a
professional standard. I will also be using Photoshop to create
my front cover, as it makes ordered pictures and text much
easier. It will help me to create my ideal front cover as I will
be able to adjust it to my personal desires
To create my double page spread, I will be using InDesign. This
soft wear is easy to use, and Is good for content that consists of
a lot of text which is why i will be using it for my article .
InDesign will allow me to create the best possible layout for my
magazine as I will be able to adjust the text to exactly how I
want it to look, for example the size of the columns and spaces
between each individual letter.
InDesign
8. DAFONT
Dafont is a website designed in order to supply audiences
with every possible font. I will use Dafont when
choosing the fonts I want for my titles throughout my
magazine- such as mastheads and Cover lines. The fonts
available within Dafont range from basic block fonts to
loud bouncy expressive fonts. This will give me the
opportunity to explore what I feel will look the most
effective.
10. PREZI/SLIDE SHARE/POWTOON
/EMAZE/YOUTUBE
• To present my ideas when researching I used a variety of
different websites in order to have a number of resources
contributing to my presentation on the blog . I found each of
them easy and enjoyable to use and work with and I feel that
the end result of each turned out well.
• YouTube especially is a platform which is used by many
corporations and business in order to market their products,
through advertisement and sponsorships. YouTube would be a
devise that I would use in order to promote my magazine as it
is below the line marketing and has been known to be a very
successful devise when it comes to advertising your products.
