Throughout the filming of our short film we had difficulties controlling the
focus pull on the camera. Even though we wanted to use the focus pull a bit,
when doing the long takes it would automatically change over, making the
shot go blurry for no reason at all and would also create a sound that got
picked up on the audio. Even though we masked the sounds with other noises
to not make it noticeable there are still some shots where we cannot change
it.
I think that we did over do focus pull as throughout it does fit and shows our
auteur filming however some part s it doesn’t match or make sense, which
breaks up the flow of the scene and loses the quality of the shots.
For the camera adjustments we did not manually change the settings as we were under
tight time constraints due to another group needing our equipment and resulting in us to
leaving the camera to do everything manually.This meant that we weren’t able to fully
show our auteur style.
We could have changed the white balance for the interior scenes so that we could get the
correct colours for the scenes and that it would fit the mood that we wanted. We could
have increased the shutter speed for higher quality on the shoots, but again as we were
under time constraints most of the time we did not want to waste time so instead we just
made sure that most of the shots we got were good quality.

  • 2. Throughout the filming of our short film we had difficulties controlling the focus pull on the camera. Even though we wanted to use the focus pull a bit, when doing the long takes it would automatically change over, making the shot go blurry for no reason at all and would also create a sound that got picked up on the audio. Even though we masked the sounds with other noises to not make it noticeable there are still some shots where we cannot change it. I think that we did over do focus pull as throughout it does fit and shows our auteur filming however some part s it doesn’t match or make sense, which breaks up the flow of the scene and loses the quality of the shots.

For the camera adjustments we did not manually change the settings as we were under tight time constraints due to another group needing our equipment and resulting in us to leaving the camera to do everything manually.This meant that we weren’t able to fully show our auteur style. We could have changed the white balance for the interior scenes so that we could get the correct colours for the scenes and that it would fit the mood that we wanted. We could have increased the shutter speed for higher quality on the shoots, but again as we were under time constraints most of the time we did not want to waste time so instead we just made sure that most of the shots we got were good quality.
