The document discusses the various technologies used to design a magazine, including a Nikon D3100 camera to take high quality images, a tripod to steady shots, lighting to control shadows, a white screen backdrop, Photoshop for image editing and design, and Microsoft Word for articles and spell checking. These tools helped the author produce professional-quality images and design their magazine as if it were to be commercially published.
1. When designing my magazine i had to use all types of technology to help make the magazine
look how i wanted it to and to fit the Genre and style of the magazine.
The technologies i used are:
Camera: Nikon D3100 so that i could take high quality images of my artist for my magazine,
i learnt that i had to take different shots of my model in order to get wider selection of images
allowing me to have more choice on what images will go into my magazine and also some
will fit the style of the magazine but some images might not so taking many photos allows
me the verity.
Tripod: I used the tripod to steady the camera to get a sharp image that wasn't blurred or
distorted this also alowed me to keep a consistant angle when taking pictures so that if i
needed to take the photo again for any reason i could take it in the same position that i liked
and set it to so that it would be the image i wanted for my magazine.
Lighting: I used lighting to create more or less shadow in my images depending on the style
of my artist and my magazine, the lighting was also important because i could get a clearer
image that was easier to see wheres without the lighting i would have had a low visibilty
image. To create less shadow i positioned the lights ferther way from eachother at a 45
degree angle to create less or now shadow depending on how my artist/model was positioned,
this worked and i was able to create multiple shots with less shadow that made my magazine
look bettter and suited the style of my artist. This worked because the light was creating a
qshadow at the feet of the model/ artist so when i was taking my waste up shots there was no
shadow and more light.
White Screen: because i didn't want any outside pictures or inside pictures (Home, restaurant
etc.) as my backdrop i wanted to use a plain white background which enabled me to edit the
background colour to what i would like to fit the style of my magazine and artist. tyhe white
screen also allowed the lighting to make the image brighter and more visable.
2. Photoshop: I used Photoshop to enhance the quality of my images and piece all aspects of my
magazine together. With photoshop i also had a veriety of fonts and colours to choose from
that allowed me to create the style of my magazine as well as choose the right fonts and
colours to be used. Photoshop was a good tool when editing photos and trying mtomve
images text and othere aspects of my magazine arround to get the style and shape of my
magazine right.
Microsoft Word: I used Microsoft word to write my article and also spell check if i thought I
misspelled anything which allowede me to make the magazine look professional as well as
readable.
I used all of these to enhance the quality of my magazine and produce the best quality images
and magazine as i could as if i was designing a professional magazine to be published and
distributed.
