How Did Shakespeare Use Astrology During The Renaissance
Most of what s been said about shakespeare s use of Astrology was so simplistic that it s irrelevant.
Mainly because the people reading his work don t know enough about it while they are reading it.
Astrology during the Renaissance was based on the complex system of numbers, the Part of Fortune,
and harmony of spheres. Professional astrologers that hear him not only catch his references to the
stars, planets, and signs, but also the pervasive and underlying worldview that astrology is the central
study of the universe. During the renaissance, ordinary folks tended to use terms like the stars to mean
luck or fortune and the names of the planets for some quality that was specific to that planet, as Mars
to anger or Venus to love.

Lowe s Argumentative Essay
Thank you for taking the time to listen to my complaints and for performing a walk through at the
project site. As I mentioned during our phone conversation, on August 2014, Carmen Alfonso entered
into a contract with Lowe s to renovate two bathrooms at 14817 SW 175th Street, Miami, Florida
33187 Unfortunately, I m disappointed with how long it has taken Lowe s to complete the renovation
and furthermore all the setbacks encountered. The renovation commenced 2 years 6 months ago, four
different contract companies and there are still outstanding issues, including but not limited to a water
leak located in the small bathroom. On February 2015, shortly after the tiles were installed, brown
stains randomly began appearing on the floor grout. I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unfortunately, the brown stain resurfaced two more times and remediated two more times. Obviously,
this issue was not the result of a chemical reaction as initially concluded by GC # 1 and 2, but
something more profound. When the fourth GC (Jerson) was onboarded to remediate the outstanding
issues, the brown stain issue was one of the items on the punch list. During the initial walk though,
Jerson removed the grout that had the brown stain and found evidence of water on the cement
underneath the tile. On January 3, 2017 the contractors removed the toilet and ripped out several floor
tiles with the intent of identifying water leak. Once the area was exposed the leak was not apparent
and therefore required a more in depth research according to the GC perhaps breaking the floor to
again access to the pipes thus, requiring Lowe s approval before proceeding. The GC informed me that
he would meet with Lowe s to propose his recommendations and that I should hear back from them in
the next couple of day. On January 9th, as I waited to hear back from Lowe s regarding the next steps
the contactors arrived at the house unannounced to install the

The Rates Of Teen Pregnancy Essay
INTRODUCTION Throughout the United States, rates of teen pregnancy are significantly high. In
2013, there were 26.5 births for every 1,000 adolescent females ages 15 19, or 273,105 babies born to
females in this age group.1 Young, minority women between the ages of 15 and 24 appear to be at
greater risk for becoming pregnant. Minority populations are also linked with low socioeconomic
status, whether in terms of education or income, or both. Having low income and lower levels of
education (the most commonly used measures of SES) were also associated with increased risk for
unintended pregnancies, with 62% of pregnancies being unintended among those earning 200% of the
FPL.2 In addition, with minority populations growing rapidly, many of these young women and their
families live in smaller, more rural areas. According to one study, in rural and small town areas the
Hispanic population increased by 1.9 million or 46 percent between 2000 and 2010.3 In rural areas
there is often limited access to nearby health care facilities. With income, education and living
inadequacies, these young women face complications with availability and ready access to
contraception, and are therefore less likely to practice effective utilization of contraceptives. There is
evidence that minority and low SES women are less likely to use contraception overall, use different
contraceptive methods, and have higher rates of contraceptive failure than white and higher SES
women.2 Cultural beliefs and

Summary Modigliani Miller
L1 Modigliani Miller (1958) The Cost of Capital, Corporation Finance and the Theory of Investment
This article mainly discusses the cost of capital, the required return necessary to make a capital
budgeting project worthwhile. Cost of capital includes the cost of debt and the cost of equity. Theorist
conclude that the cost of capital to the owners of a firm is simply the rate of interest on bonds.
In a world without uncertainty the rational approach would be (1) to maximize profits and (2) to
maximize market value. When uncertainty arises, these statements vanish and change into a utility
maximization. The goal is to get more insight in the effect of financial structure on market valuations.
I. Valuation of Securities, Leverage ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Tracking Population Movements With Mobile Phone Network Data
TITLE OF ARTICLE: Improved Response to Disasters and Outbreaks by Tracking Population
Movements with Mobile Phone Network Data: A Post Earthquake Geospatial Study in Haiti
AUTHOR(S) OF ARTICLE: Linus Bengtsson, Xin Lu, Anna Thorson, Richard Garfield, Johan von
Schreeb PURPOSE OF ARTICLE: This article was about research conducted on movements and
disbursement of populations after the earthquake and cholera outbreak in Haiti in 2010 and how the
movement of populations after a sudden disaster can impede response and actually increase the
mortality rate. Research was conducted, using subscriber identity module cards, or SIM cards, of the
population of the affected disaster zone to research the movement of people after the earthquake
struck. TOPIC: The topic of this research article was whether or not the use of SIM cards was a viable
way to measure and track disbursement of populations after a disaster occurred. MAIN
CONCLSUION: The main point that can be taken from this article is that this cellular data taken from
SIM cards can be used, with success, to track population disbursement after a disaster strikes. It can
allow emergency personnel to dispatch to the areas where the injured or stricken population have
traveled to, instead of setting up posts only at the place stricken. It can also give more specific
estimates to the population that could not disperse and were present during the event. They also found
that this method using technology can possibly be used for the

Alan Moore And Dave Gibbons
Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons Watchmen illustrates the lives of retired superheroes in the 1980s. The
Keene Act outlawed the masquerading of superheroes in the 1970s and led to the dissolution of many
superheroes. The murder of an old colleague, The Comedian, forces them to come out of retirement
and sets the events of the graphic novel into place. Moore and Gibbons sets up a world of superheroes
in the midst of a very real historical period of the Cold War. We usually think of superheroes as
existing in a fictional place, with an altered history. However, the novel references President Nixon,
the Cold War, Vietnam, and other real events and figures. These references help to establish the
superheroes as people existing in reality. Here, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Richard Nixon is running for another term. Superheroes have influenced how the time period will turn
out because of they are the ones who change the events in history, both for and against us. The
presence of Dr. Manhattan makes it easier for the United States government to accomplish their
military goals, for example. In real life, a weapon that the United States or any country, for that matter,
this powerful would have been used to death. It would have meant the end of our problems as well as
the solution to any future problems or discussions. The inclusion of superheroes means we must
discuss the option of having too much power and having an extraterrestrial presence among the human
species. The presence of the superheroes and their eventual retirement/exile arise from this feeling of
otherness . Dr. Manhattan is feared for his appearance and his powers, and eventually drives him to
exile. Rorschach incites fear into those who know of him and his history. Superheroes change the
dynamic of the society. The novel is also based on the current events going on, plus alterations
according to the necessary actions taken by the superheroes. The setting allowed the novel to hold a
dark mirror to its time (Rehak 156). When director Zack Snyder decided to adapt the novel into film,
he chose to update the setting to the post 9/11 world. It was an attempt to bring the ending more

Should Naps Be Allowed In Schools
It is common for students to be tired when they arrive to school everyday whether it is a Monday or
the first day back from a long break. I believe that middle and high schools should have designated
times for students to be able to take short naps because it helps students refocus. A recent study
showed that students do not fully wake up until around 10:30 A.M. proving that schools start way too
early for them to absorb all the knowledge given to them. The main goal of a school is to educate their
pupils but with the majority of them too tired to focus, the goal cannot be reached. A short while ago, a
study was conducted to see if naps really did affect the attention span and focus of students in a
classroom. Students who were allowed to

Slam! When you hear the final time your soon to be home s door closes, it takes more than just a roof
away, it takes out a bit of your heart along with it. You have once had hopes, aspirations, goals for this
home, and now they are stripped away from you because of the economy collapsing. However,
recently the buyers who were once remorseful, are now in a position to take back new homes and start
their families thank to the turnaround of the real estate market. Still, they are hesitant of making a
commitment to a home because of the trauma they had previously faced. This has created multiple
ways to put the buyers minds at ease as they are still working toward attaining a new lease/mortgage.
I had lived in Merced, California from 2006 up until 2010. This time frame will go down in history as
probably the worst time to have tried to rent, own or live in that town due to the skyrocketing amounts
of the foreclosure that occurred there. We always rented from owners that seemed unsure of letting go
of their property, and this hesitation in letting go of their for rent houses always came to a conclusion
when we found out we were losing that house. Merced was one of the foreclosure capitals of the entire
country, and no one decided to tell my family. We averaged a move about every seven months, and we

Knights Dbq
Even though two societies lived on opposite sides of Earth, they happened to develop a similar society
structure. From roughly 1000 to 1600 CE in Japan and Europe, samurai horsemen and knight
horsemen were the muscle and soul of the warrior classes, (background essay). In Europe, the mighty
western Roman Empire had fallen in the late 400s, leaving a continent divided among weak kingdoms,
(background essay). Japanese emperors and the imperial court was challenged by the rise of clans,
(background essay). Now that we know this background information, were Europe s and Japan s
warriors more similar or different? Samurai and knights were more different than similar, and this can

The Legal Action For Negligence Against Jimmy Farnham And...
Answer A
The major shareholder might not be successful in the legal action for negligence against Jimmy
Farnham. This is because the audit firm was not under a contract agreement with the major
shareholder, and the fact that the major shareholder can be considered a third party in the contract
between Jimmy Farnham and Aussie Outback Tours Ltd. The law is not definitively clear on the
auditor s liability to third parties (Porter, Ó hÓgartaigh Baskerville, 2012). An auditor owes a duty of
care to their direct client, and any damages incurred by the client due to negligence on the part of the
auditor makes the auditor liable in terms of contract and also in tort (Nguyen Rajapakse, 2008). A
claim of liability by a third party to an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He had advised the client to assign the review and evaluation of the new database to an independent
contractor. The fact that Jimmy was not familiar with the new system of accounting that the client was
implementing and therefore not involved in the changeover process absolves him and his audit firm
from direct liability. It is also hard to prove that the error in material inventory that resulted from the
changeover was committed when Jimmy was auditing the firm or at the instance of feeding the data
into the system. Admittance to liability is also dependent on whether the auditor had placed
disclaimers of responsibility in the preparation of the audit reports.
The criteria for the determination of the auditor s liability to other parties apart from the clients are as
follows:
The defendant must have reasonably foreseen that the statements would be put to use by the plaintiff
A relevant degree of proximity must exist between the parties involved in the litigation
The imposition of a duty for care by the plaintiff on the defendant must be just and reasonable
(Davies, 1991; ACCA, 2009).
There is no evidence presented in the case above to the effect that the defendant was aware of the
likelihood of the judgements he made being used as a basis to make judgement by the plaintiff. The
plaintiff also has a hard tasks of proving that there was a close proximity between them and

Civil War And The Reconstruction Era
The Civil War had ended and the Reconstruction era had given African American s a much needed
voice in the electoral process. They were finally able to have rights in the way that business matters
were being organized. Unfortunately, this was short lived. White domination took over every aspect of
life, particularly in the south. Between 1890 and 1906, every southern state was involved in
constitutional provisions and passing laws that were meant to completely wipe out the black vote
altogether. There were a few ways in which they did this. One was by charging a poll tax. If you
couldn t pay the tax, you couldn t vote. Although, this tax was waived for the equally poor white
voters. A handful of the southern states issued what was called

Criminal Justice System In England
This essay will argue that the Criminal Justice System (CJS) in England and Wales doesn t provide
justice for all. In particular, the institutionally racist nature of the police and courts towards Black,
Asian and minority ethnic groups (BAME) will be addressed. The Lammy Review has been
instrumental in outlining the disproportionate representation of BAME groups within the CJS. In a
letter addressed to the Prime minister, David Lammy reports the findings from his review. 51% of UK
born individuals from BAME backgrounds believe that the CJS discriminates against certain groups
and individuals (Lammy,2016). In comparison, only 35% of the white population born in the UK
believe the same statement (Lammy, 2016). Thus, choosing to focus on the ... Show more content on

However, post PACE there have still been injustices. In 1990, the Cardiff Three were wrongly
convicted of the murder of a prostitute. During police interviewing of the men, the police deployed
barbaric interrogation techniques, petrifying the men into signing false confessions (Belloni and
Hodgson, 2000. pg. 10). These confessions, used as evidence against the men in court, wrongly
imprisoned them. However, two years later in 1992, the scandalous nature of the police investigation
was exposed and the men were released (Campbell, 2013). The court s decision to quash the sentence
exposed the misconduct and institutional racism present in the police. The Cardiff Three is an example
of the police fabricating confessional evidence, through the torment and torture of the men. All three
men were from BAME backgrounds and had consequently been framed for a crime they didn t
commit. Such incidents suggest a discriminatory and racist culture that still exists within the police
and court institutions today, and hence, the task of the CJS in England and Wales providing justice for
all is unachievable whilst racially discriminatory views within such agencies continue to exist.

Victoria s Secret TNC
How Victoria s Secret Became a TNC
TNC s or Trans National Corporations are companies, or entities, that conduct operations vital to their
success, in two or more countries (Richet, Delteil, Dieuaid, 2014). The growth of TNC s became
possible with the expansion of the free market economy as well as the growth and advancement of
technology and the Internet. Globalization has also contributed to the rise of these entities, which are
sometimes also known as Multi National Corporations or MNC s (Richet, Delteil, Dieuaid, 2014).

These methods have incorporated both Foreign Direct Investment as well as Outsourcing. The
company has also employed mergers and acquisitions. One prime example of acquisition as a global
expansions strategy presents itself with the acquisition of Victoria s Secret by the Limited Brands Inc.
Company. This acquisition is what has enabled the company to expand itself and transform into a
Trans National Company. Another example of acquisition is in the way the company entered the
Canadian market. In 2007 as it was preparing to enter the market in Canada, Victoria s Secret acquired
a lingerie company in Canada known as La Senza. This both gave it a presence in the Canadian
market and helped to eliminate competition. Another way in which it has expanded is through Foreign
Direct Investment, and this is represented by the company s ownership and presence in various
countries the world over. The company has stores and boutiques in the USA, Canada, the United
Kingdom, Mexico, Israel, and China. In addition to these countries, it has international franchise
outlets in Venezuela and Colombia as well as in Puerto Rico. In the Middle East, the brand is
represented in Kuwait trough a franchise held by M.H. Alshaya Co. This same company operates the
franchise in Poland. In terms of outsourcing, the company has participated in various ways. For

Beliefs of the Anti-Federalists Essay
The name, Anti Federalists is not the best suited name for what they truly are, or what they believe in.
They are called the Anti Federalists, but it should be made clear at once that they were not Anti
Federal at all. (Main xi) Originally, the word federalist, meant anyone who supported the Articles of
Confederation. The term Anti Federalist was placed on them to portray them as people who did not
agree with the Federal Government, which was exactly opposite of what they are. According to the
proper definition, the Anti Federalists were really more Federal than the so called Federalists. Many

they did not agree with them, but they also had a reason behind it. The Federalists idea was the use of
the term was the way some great men had to deceive the common people, and prevent their knowing
what they were about. (Main xiii) This idea states that the term anti puts on an image that they are not

Vibration test of composite materials on the basis of measurement of dynamic properti
INTRODUCTION
On the basis of measurement of viscoelastic and dynamic properties, there are four important
parameter such as damping, relaxation, creep, and strain rate, which describes evidence of viscoelastic
behavior and can be calculated with the help of an experiment, but this paper describes the method of
test for the measurement of damping. In addition, the notation of complex modulus describes
conventionally for damping and dynamic stiffness of linear viscoelastic materials, where the methods
of vibration test are considered for measurement of complex moduli of composites. With the help of
this test of plates and beams to find dynamic elastic moduli also get evaluated.
In vibration test, notation for complex modulus is suitable for portrayal of dynamic behavior of linear
viscoelastic composites. The damping and stiffness which are the constituent part of the complex
modulus are belongs to the dynamic mechanical properties, which may be measured with the help of
experiments with vibration and wave propagation experiments ,and the measurement of the same is
considered for dynamic mechanical analysis.
However, there are many traps with respect to the different kind of techniques which must get
avoided. In example, there was a development of commercial dynamic mechanical analyzers for the
testing of small specimen of unreinforced low modulus polymers, and stiffness is generally

Definition Of A Concerto
In this essay I will explain the definition of a concerto, what it is, where it was developed and who
made it popular. I will also discuss the most creative composer of the solo concerto who was Antonio
Vivaldi. Thirdly I will focus on the main traits Vivaldi developed in a concerto with reference to one
of his most enchanting works The Four Seasons.
Concerto
A concerto is a musical composition for a solo instrument or instruments accompanied by an orchestra
.The soloist will have the opportunity to show their potential during the cadenza part in a concerto. A
cadenza is an embellished solo section, usually placed at the end of the first movement of a concerto.

The structural thinking behind the Four Seasons was that each movement twelve in all (three per
season) would evoke a certain mood. Vivaldi delivered elegance and originality in his work. His music
mirrors graphically the action described; this literary link is called program music.Vilvaldis four
season concertos were based on an Italian sonnet, likely written by Vivaldi where he depicts and
illustrates the narratives through his compositions. For example, in Vivaldi s second concerto summer
he depicts a peaceful, calm mood at the beginning of the first movement. The atmosphere is
extraordinarily vivid, depicting the oppressive heat from the Mediterranean sun. The plaintive signs of
the violin, separated by silences which suggest the intake of breath is a tiring exertion, it gives no hint
to the explosive energy that lies ahead. (See example two). In the concerto Winter he evokes a thunder
storm, with the use of piercing high notes in the violin at a rapid speed. For

Disadvantages Of Refractometer
INTRODUCTION
A refractometer is aneoptical device that takes advantage of the fact that light passing through a liquid

solids in a solution. Cooking oil, molasses, syrup, and other thick liquids require a

Why?
Temperature is an essential parameter because the index of refraction is affected by temperature. The
speed of light in a liquid will increase when the temperature increases. For instance, according to
Hanson (2006), when there is 1°C increasing in temperature, many organic liquids the index of
refraction decreases by nearly %0.05
What are the advantages and disadvantages of both instruments in measuring total soluble solid

Plagiarism Is More Effective Than Just Punishing Students

Scott Jaschik discusses various situations of plagiarism in college in his article, Winning Hearts and
Minds in War on Plagiarism, in order to argue that there are more efficient solutions to prevent
plagiarism. Jaschik published this article in Inside Higher Ed, which is an online news source, that he
cofounded, targeting first year English and college writing instructors. In the article, he explores
different ways of preventing plagiarism and emphasizes the importance of academic integrity. By
drawing on different instructor perspectives, he employs various situations such as an online student

why students plagiarize. Jaschik ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although there still was some unintentional plagiarizing, the open minded conversation between
Hagopian and her students was more beneficial and effective for the students because it taught them
the, difference between deliberate fraud and failed apprenticeship (Jaschik 262). This example
strengthens
Jaschik s idea by specifically illustrating how first year writing instructors being more open minded
towards plagiarism can be more beneficial for the students. Jaschik also describes another example
with Roy Stamper, an associate writing director, who followed an online student discussion board
where students discussed how they felt about plagiarizing which led
Stamper to discover that there was also a strong, intense reaction from other students much of it
critical (263). Jaschik uses this to illustrate how his lurking online raised many questions and whether,
an intense workload puts an emphasis for students on efficiency as opposed to quality (263 4). This
example also strengthens Jaschik s argument in that it appeals to the first year writing instructors by
giving insight on various students opinions on plagiarizing. This is effective to the instructors because
it allows them to learn some reasons why students plagiarize, such as being overloaded and not having
enough time. Even Stamper himself asks, Should writing instructors be looking to

hemorrhagic fever actually named after the River Ebola in Zaire, Africa, where it was first discovered.
It belongs to a genus of ribonucleic viruses called filoviruses, under the family Filofiridae, which are
characterized by their filament like (thread like) appearance with a little hook or loop at the end. Only
five viruses exist in this family: the not as deadly Marburg, and the four Ebola strains: Ebola Zaire,
Ebola Sudan, Ebola Tai and Ebola Reston. The latter ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Tables I and II)
The viruses in this family range from 800 to 1000 nanometers in length. Marburg and Ebola are
distinguished by their length after purification. Infectivity depends on particular lengths: the longer,
the more infectious. All Ebola viruses measure up to about the same length. Each virus particle
consists of a helical coiled tube made of four virally encoded proteins. This strand of RNA is found in
an envelope formed from the host s plasma cell membrane, which is now spiked with another
carbohydrate coated viral protein. Differences in gene sequence and very small differences in
serological nature are what make each Ebola virus unique from each other, with its own antigenic and
biological properties.
The time needed for Ebola virus replication in infected body cells takes less than eight hours.
Hundreds to thousands of new viral particles can be produced and released from the host cell within
days or even hours before the host cell dies. This replication process is repeated several times in an
Ebola patient before symptoms begin to show.
The diagnosis of Ebola is made by the detection of Ebola antibodies, antigens or genetic material, or
by the culture of the virus, in blood or other bodily fluid specimens that are examined in specialized
laboratory tests. Such tests present a very extreme biohazard, so they are conducted in special high
containment laboratories to ensure maximum protection for scientists.

Essay about Consumer Appeal
Consumer Appeal
Advertisers of today have strategically combined commercials and television shows in order to sell
products. Gloria Steinem discusses a similar idea in her article, quot;Sex, Lies, and Advertising. quot;
She repeatedly demonstrates how advertisements, particularly in magazines, are complementary to the
articles around them. In the same manner, so are commercials to television programs.
They are both aimed at the same groups or types of people, such as sex, age, gender, etc.
Many times, the time of day or day of the week a show is aired has a lot to do with the types of
viewers the program will attract. Thus, the types of commercials will also differ. On ... Show more

This leaves a majority of the older crowds watching the program.
According to Gloria Steinem, the target of the television show will be the same as that of the
commercials. This proved to be true with quot;Profiler quot; and its commercials. There were a total
of twenty commercials aired. They included and Allstate Insurance ad, a number of car dealers and
promotions, chewing gum, beauty products, medicine, food, and television satellites. Most of them
had female voice overs with predominantly white actors and/or actresses. The actors and/or actresses
were also good looking, thin, and of high to medium status.
In Steinem s terms, and as mentioned by Cayo Gamber, an advertisement is generally linked to the
article, or in this case, the program. The show is seen as a quot;complementary copy quot; for the
commercials; because it included certain accessories to a person in the same life style as the characters
in the program.
The cars advertisements, in particular, were at times found in the show.
However, the other products weren t really enforced by the program. Above all, the program did help
maintain the intended target interested and tuned in to that specific channel.
The benefit of airing commercials at that specific time of

Abe remembered that when he returned home, everyone he knew would either congratulate him with

the strength he could and picked the kid by the arms and threw him down for four points. The crowd

Bringing Emotional Abuse To The Forefront. No Relationship
Bringing Emotional Abuse to the Forefront No relationship will ever be perfect, but that does not
mean you should settle for one that is toxic and degrading. However, according to National Domestic
Violence Hotline, 1 in 3 adolescents in the United States have experienced at least one type of abuse
from their romantic partner. Evidently, this shows that people still continue to engage in these
unhealthy relationships. Perhaps what is even further alarming is that the majority of the abused
refrain from reporting it, often suffering long term effects from this abuse. When thinking about the
effects, most people s minds will retreat to bruises, cuts, and other physical evidence. However, people

However, this perpetual state does not work alone in the harmful effects of emotional abuse. Secondly,
emotional abuse exceeds physical abuse because of its more personal approach and attack on the
victim s self esteem. Those who emotionally abuse their partner pinpoint flaws and areas where the
victim already has self esteem issues (Patterson). This includes implying that one is ugly, stupid, fat,
etc., and this personal approach causes the victim to have further self confidence issues and to believe
that the abuse is their own fault (Stosny). On the other hand, physical abuse tends to make it likely for
the victim to realize that the abuser has a problem, rather than themselves. If emotional abuse did not
target and was not as personal, the effects would fall lower than what they are. However, emotional
abuse causes it to be about the persons themselves and their spirit (Stosny). The personal insults and
criticisms wear away at self esteem so much that the victim will believe they are worthless and
actually blame themselves for the abuse (Hein). This obliteration of self esteem remains only one
reason why the pain of emotional abuse exceeds physical abuse, and it worsens

Hybrid Theory reached Diamond Status when their sales topped ten million (Leahey). Such an
accomplishment allowed the album to be considered as one of the most successful debuts ever
(Leahey). Linkin Park later received three Grammys nominations for the debut album as well. In the
2000s, Linkin Park not only received over sixty awards, but they also were nominated for a hundred
and sixty nine more (Leahey). It should also be taken into consideration that the statistics listed below
only refer to one of five albums. Some bands don t even reach Linkin Park s status of worth after their
first album when compared to their entire career. The amount of years that a band has been together
does not necessarily mean they are better or the best. For example, some of the bands that did not even
come close to making the list have never even won a Grammy let alone been nominated for one.
Although many people have their own opinion as to what a good band entails, based upon the criteria
that is created and evaluated, any band can justifiably be the best rock band. Based upon evaluating
rock bands on their number of awards and sales, Linkin Park is arguably the best rock band of the
2000s. There is no denying that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Not everyone is going to
easily agree that Linkin Park is the best rock band. On the other hand, based upon the criteria created,
arguments can be made as to why they under some circumstances that they are. Some of the other

Collagen is the predominant protein in animal bodies,...
Collagen is the predominant protein in animal bodies, constituting approximately 30% of the total
protein (Birk Bruckner, 2005; Unlua et al. 2014). It is an extracellular matrix protein that can either
directly or indirectly interact with cells to alter cellular activity. At least 27 different types of collagen
have been indentified, correspondingly named types I to XXVII (Birk Bruckner, 2005).
Structure
Collagen is characterized by the right handed triple helical rod structure which is formed by three left
handed helix polypeptide chain. Although the triple helical structure is the main characteristic of
collagen, some globular proteins are indentified as collagen due to the repeating trilets and small triple
helical rod (Prockop ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Network forming collagen is type IV collagens found in basement membranes and type VIII and X

termini to form dimers and at the N termini to form tetramers. In addition to these end to end
interactions, the triple helical domains intertwine to form supercoiled structures. FACIT collagen
stands for fibril associated collagen with interrupted triplehelice, which includes types IX, XII, XIV,
XVI, and XIX collagens (Prockop Kivirikko 1995; Van Der Rest Garrone 1991). They do not form
fibrils themselves but are found attached to the surfaces of preexisting fibrils of the fibril forming
collagens. Type VI is the only known collagen that can form beaded filament. The type VI collagen
forms a dimer with another type VI collagen with end to end interaction. The globular domain of the
type VI collagen dimer forms a tetramer with other type VI collagen dimer. The tetramer further
aggregates with another tetramer to form the beaded filament (Prockop Kivirikko 1995). Collagen of
anchoring fibrils is composed by type VII collagen. Type VII collagen has two non collagen domain,
NC1 and NC2. Type VII collagen forms a dimer with another type VII collagen by the interaction with
two NC2 domains. The dimer further aggregates with other dimmers to form fibrils.

On Liberty John Stuart Mill Summary
The novel On Liberty was written by the remarkable philosopher John Stuart Mill. Through the essay,
he discusses phenomenal assumptions that are not examined oftentimes due to the reason that society
perceives Freedom of Expression only as beneficial. Also, individuals often overlook the impact that
the authority has on the fundamental freedom of free speech. They often truly believe that we are
absolutely free to do everything they cherish. Mill deconstructs these ideas and enlightens us with new
perspectives. This does not ultimately mean that all of the arguments that Mill highlights could be
implemented within society. John Stuart Mill s argument concerning free speech has elements that are
both feasible and infeasible when applied in the real world.
The primary question of On Liberty that Mill question within this literacy phenomenal is What are the
nature and limits of the power which can be legitimately exercised by society over the individual?
(Mill, 1859,p1). Mill further deconstructs his own response that the individual should have the right to
speak whatever they cherish, but through this process, no person should be harmed (Mill,1859,pg8).
His argument is built upon on two notions: Individual Sphere and Social Sphere. In the Individual
Sphere freedom of thought is given high importance compared to compulsion (Mill, 1859, 10). Thus,
we as individuals should be allowed to speak or think whatever we desire. On the other hand, in the
Social Sphere, we have a

The Pros And Cons Of Murdere Punishment
Have you ever wondered how many innocent people are serving time in prison? Well, in 2015, 149
people were exonerated from prison because they were falsely convicted of crimes. One of the many
incidents of this was the case against Glenn Ford. He was sentenced to death by electrocution in 1984
for robbery and first degree murder of Isadore Rozeman. He spent 30 years in prison until 2014, when
he was exonerated. The reason for choosing this topic is because although numbers are decreasing,
there are still people who have been falsely convicted and sent to prison; and at least 4.1% of
innocents are on death row. We must stop this corruption of false convictions in the court.
If false conviction is an unfamiliar term, a false conviction is when an innocent defendant is convicted
of a crime they never committed. This is considered an injustice because there are more than 8,000
people who are on death row for something they never did. The courts should be where the people
find the truth of the trial, but this rarely happens. Some trials may have the truth come to light, but not
many. Instead, it has only resolved conflicts between the defendant and plaintiff. As stated prior,
although there are decreasing numbers, it is still an injustice that occurs.
There are many ways that false convictions occur. One example is what prosecutors do with evidence.
It has been shown that some prosecutors would fabricate, or create evidence illegally to show the
defendant s guilt, or hide

The Female Characters Of Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
The female characters in Frankenstein represent the treatment of women in the early 1800 s. Women
who are deprived of their female roles and are enclosed in a feminine sphere of domesticity. In the
novel, Frankenstein, the women characters are treated as property and have little privileges in
relationship to the male characters, the women suffer and are eventually destroyed showing how
unimportant they are in the book s society, and when it comes to reproduction of human s, man thinks
it pointless to have women play that role. These attacks on the innocent prove that women are second
rate in the novel.
The women in Frankenstein are forced to be submissive. Victor treats Elizabeth more like a possession
or object instead of a living, breathing human being. Elizabeth is passive around Victor. She and other
women of the novel, are accepting of the male controlled society being the powerful figure because
that is what they were raised to follow (Kolker). Men withdraw the women of their rights thus the
women are forced to act well mannered. Like Elizabeth s destruction, the monsterette s creation and
destruction dramatize how women do not function in their own right but rather as signs and conduits
for men s relations with other men (Smith 323). Elizabeth possesses herself as being quiet and calm.
This quiet behavior adds to the fact that she is a possession and not an individual. All praises bestowed
on her, I received as made to a possession of my own (Shelly 44).

Intermitting fasting does unfortunately cause some people to get fatigued especially if they are new to
intermittent fasting therefore, I recommend people to not endure with intermitting fasting every day to
prevent you getting tired , underperforming when training and reduce muscle growth. I also do not
recommend enduring with intermitting fasting if you are over the age of 50 or if your body is still
developing physically (children and teenagers) to prevent any potential growth side effects.
Advantages of Occlusion training
Now moving onto the advantages, one of PF s best benefits is the fact that you will dramatically boost
fat burning throughout your body, this is because when you eat food your body spends couple of hours
changing the food into simpler nutritional units such as amino acids and simple sugars. Therefore
when you are in a normal eating schedule, your body will actually use the food you ate throughout the
day or the past hours to provide itself with energy and other required nutrients and vitamins. Although
if you are in a fasted state your body will not have the option to use food as an energy source and will
be forced to use the fat storage around your body ( including stubborn visceral fat ) to provide your

rate hikes in premiums ( U.S. department of, ). These justifications will have to be turned into the
federal or state Rate Review program for an analysis of whether it is a justified increase to the insured,
and it will be up to that program to approve or reject any increases of 10% or more on consumers. It
also provides that premium dollars are to be spent on health care costs, not administrative, marketing,
or overhead costs. Insurers selling to large groups must spend at least 85% of premiums paid on health
care, while insurers to small groups must spend at least 80% ( Value for your, ). Any left over, unused

Secretary of Health and Human Services, and it will be decided if rebates are due to any of the
insured. Rebates will be given by either a reduction in upcoming premiums or a rebate check.

Comparing North Korea And America
North Korea and America have many differences. In North Korea there is a shortage of food. The
government uses fear tactics against its own citizens. North Korea citizens are blocked off from the
outside world and know very little about it. The country has a large number of prison camps that hold
Koreans. In this essay, North Korea and America will be compared to each other.
North Korea has a major shortage of food. North Koreans are starved in some areas of the country.
Children go up to days even weeks with no food. Children are forced to eat scraps of food just to
survive. In America, the public is plentiful with food. Americans do not starve; they do not have a
shortage of food. Adolescents in America are provided with food, while children in North Korea are
forced to scavenge for food just to survive. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Those who defect, or try to escape North Korea, are either executed or made an example and then
punished. Those who are caught defecting are punished for their actions, as well as their entire family.
In America, the people are given rights. They are not tortured; they are not executed. America does not
use fear tactics unlike North Korea. America uses the laws that were placed years ago to keep order of
the country. North Koreans are hindered from learning about the outside world. They are kept from
learning about the outside world so they don t see what others have and say I want that . The
government does this to stop a rebellion from sparking and the people over throwing the government.
Americans are given rights and know what is happening in the world around them. Americans have
access to phones while North Korea did not have any phones whatsoever until almost five years

Personality Disorders Essay
Psychologists have identified ten different types of personality disorders and categorized into three
different clusters. In the beginning, the diagnostic testing for schizotypal was not very reliable,
because the symptoms ranged from mild to severe, and would vary to the severity of the symptoms.
Due to research, psychologists have discovered the various causes that trigger this disorder. With the
new age, there has been some new advancement made toward helping and treating patients with
schizotypal. It does not affect just the patient but takes a big toll on society.
According to the DSM IV (2000), schizotypal personality disorder occurs more often in males than in
females and over three percent of the general population. The disorder ... Show more content on

Schizotypal falls in the Cluster A category that is considered paranoid personality disorders.
According to Bjornlund (2011), ten to twenty years ago mental health professional started treating
patients for personality disorders, since it is harder to diagnose and treat. Each disorder had to be
approached differently according to a precise diagnosis. Health professionals used questionnaires and
interviews to diagnosis patients; however, often the results were incorrectly diagnosis. Some patients
do not get early treatment until the symptoms interfere with daily life or a relative encourages them to.
Some may seek treatment after court order, suicide attempt, anxiety, depression, or substance abuse.
Sometimes a precise diagnosis happens after being institutionalized or hospitalize for a long period of
time. Around the mid 1970 s, DSM emphasized an increasing reliability in diagnosis of schizotypal.
There are several different symptoms and characteristics that are present with schizotypal personality
disorder. According Bjounlund (2011), the symptoms may be mild in one specific area of the patient s
life or extremely severe that the patience cannot function in any part of life. Symptoms can range from
peculiar dress to perceptual alterations. The symptoms affect not just the patience but also family and
friends attributed to stress. Some patients diagnosed with schizotypal exhibit anxious behavior. The
anxious behavior includes obsessions and

General Mcauliffe s Tactical Mission
Tactical Situation
1. Mission: General McAuliffe s mission was simple; hold the town of Bastogne at any cost to prevent
the German counter assault from breaking through the Allied line. The town was strategically held to
prevent high speed avenues of approach, as well as access to supply and mobilization routes for the
Axis forces. The roadways of St. Vith and Bastogne were paramount for the Germans to advance
north, and press on to the Meuse River, which was their objective. Also part of his mission parameters
were to destroy Axis fuel depots to limit maneuverability of the Panzer division. This would limit the
capabilities of the feared Panzer tanks. The town is located on the western border of Luxembourg
approximately halfway between Holland and France. The allies advanced from Holland in the north,
and France in the South, creating a choke point to round up the German lines, and maintain all high
speed avenues of approach west of Germany. This would mean that German forces would be
consolidated and fortified, making it a consolidated battle of attrition. This was intended to be a battle
of patience, and to wait until one force ran low enough on supplies or manpower, that the other would
be overtaken with ease. Or in the case of the Paratroopers, wait until help arrives. In regards to ...

with multiple batteries of mobile, and railroad mobilized artillery. The Germans had better tanks and
superior numbers. Fortunately, they possessed limited resources, because allied forces destroyed fuel

Meera bai was born in khudki, Rajasthan in the 16th century; she was the daughter of Ratan Singh and
the grand daughter of Rao Dooda, the ruler of Merta a small state in Marwar. When she was born it
was predicted that she is born for higher things and she will be well known in history because of her
achievements.
When she was small she was gifted the idol doll of Lord Krishna by Saint Raidas Ji and he told her
that he is her husband, she falls in love with the idol and accepts Lord Krishna as her husband. Her
marriage was fixed with Bhoj Raj but she had already taken Lord Krishna as her heart and soul so she

Mysticism is not always taken in the positive manner by people it is also considered sometimes that
may be the devil has touched a person and it affects a person physically, morally and psychologically.
There are a few characteristics which accompany a mystical experience such as sense of unity or
totality, sense of sacredness, sense of timelessness, and not being able to describe the richness of that
experience.
In everyday life in regular basis we as humans undergo such experiences but we forget them, we feel
there is something or someone with us who is helping us in keeping our hopes up, in difficult tasks we
are not able to do alone, or in decisions we are not able to make alone.
William James the writer of Varieties of Religious Experience popularised the use of the term
Religious Experience observed that Mysticism requires knowledge of the Transcendental and personal
religion is more fundamental than any kind of theology. The writer defines religion as feelings, acts or

should be practiced in groups and in public he keeps feeling as the central idea to be aware of any kind
of religion. The divine feeling should come from the inside in the

Romanticism In The Open Boat
The beginning of American literature was only in the late seventeenth century during the Puritanism
Era. Even then works primarily focused on religious studies and had not developed continuous themes
of their own. As the country began to grow older through the colonial and revolutionary periods,
American literature grew into what it was by the nineteenth century. Within the Antebellum period,
writers had taken on romanticism, transcendentalism, and realism, creating writings with defined
purposes and overarching themes which could be used to develop claims and commentary on the state
of the nation. The Antebellum period was one full of uncertainties, tensions, political unrest, and the
imminent threat of division. The foundations of America provided basic themes that permeate
literature through the American Civil War freedom, sacrifice, and death.

I Know Who You Are And I Saw What You Did By Lori Field
An enchanted arrangement of wildflowers, beasts and humans intertwined together in a fantasy world.
I Know Who You Are and I Saw What You Did, by Lori Field is a hand drawn piece on paper using an
ancient writing method called silverpoint. Lori s style is a mixture of surrealistic, grotesque and
contemporary pop. Her process consists of hand drawing either with silverpoint or color pencils and
then uses wax to layer the drawings to create one piece like a collage. At first glance this piece
captures the audiences eyes on the two women who are main characters. One woman is in full armor
with her eyes closed while the other woman is floating next to her gazing upon her. The piece
definitely has a surrealistic feel, almost like the audience is looking into the woman s dream especially
since the woman floating has a dress on with the words I cannot sleep written on it. Due to the specific
symbols, objects, and animal imagery there is an intended hidden message intended for the audience
to discover. Created in 2012, I Know Who You Are and I Saw What You Did is a 12 x 12 inch drawing
currently located at the Cumberland Gallery in Nashville, Tennessee. The main character of the piece
is a woman wearing medieval armor like a knight and she has on a headpiece consisting of thorns and
horns of an animal like a deer. Her eyes are closed like she is asleep and this is her dreamworld. This
piece has some elements of Surrealism because of the influence of the dreamlike world and

Diary Of Kaamet Analysis
I was born on the month of Renwet, during the Fourth of Peret. My father used to tell me stories of
how both our moons fell on that day, an omen, an indication of prosperity and future success to come.
I never believed him, for I had never seen the moons fall. The planet of Kaamet has two moons; the
larger one named Khonsu, the smaller one named Iah. It is said that once every 500 years, these
moons fall, and a new member of the royal family is born. The sky turns a deep, blood red, with
streaks of indigo and violet painting the sky. A vendetta of colour: raging, violent, yet beautiful. The
birthing ceremony was nearly perfect. The rites were performed by the highest regarded priestesses of
the kingdom, their incantations blending into ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This man, as I would later find out, was my uncle Asim Khalfani, king of the Western kingdom. A
horn was blown, announcing his arrival, even though his presence seemed to fill up the entire room.
Asim strode over to where the king and queen were sitting. Brother , he exclaimed. It s nice seeing
you again! Father s face lit up at his brother s greeting. Yes Asim , he said, smiling. It has been quite a
while. But the festivities have started, and you are late! Come meet your niece. Asim leaned over my
cradle and kissed my forehead. He mumbled a prayer, blessing me, a tradition for this occasion. It was
at this moment that I knew that things would never be the same. As Asim finished reciting the prayer,
he tapped my forehead 3 times. Leaning in close, Asim pressed his lips to my year and uttered three
words that would change the course of Kaametian history: I. Will.

  • 2. How Did Shakespeare Use Astrology During The Renaissance Most of what s been said about shakespeare s use of Astrology was so simplistic that it s irrelevant. Mainly because the people reading his work don t know enough about it while they are reading it. Astrology during the Renaissance was based on the complex system of numbers, the Part of Fortune, and harmony of spheres. Professional astrologers that hear him not only catch his references to the stars, planets, and signs, but also the pervasive and underlying worldview that astrology is the central study of the universe. During the renaissance, ordinary folks tended to use terms like the stars to mean luck or fortune and the names of the planets for some quality that was specific to that planet, as Mars to anger or Venus to love. ... • 3. Lowe s Argumentative Essay Thank you for taking the time to listen to my complaints and for performing a walk through at the project site. As I mentioned during our phone conversation, on August 2014, Carmen Alfonso entered into a contract with Lowe s to renovate two bathrooms at 14817 SW 175th Street, Miami, Florida 33187 Unfortunately, I m disappointed with how long it has taken Lowe s to complete the renovation and furthermore all the setbacks encountered. The renovation commenced 2 years 6 months ago, four different contract companies and there are still outstanding issues, including but not limited to a water leak located in the small bathroom. On February 2015, shortly after the tiles were installed, brown stains randomly began appearing on the floor grout. I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unfortunately, the brown stain resurfaced two more times and remediated two more times. Obviously, this issue was not the result of a chemical reaction as initially concluded by GC # 1 and 2, but something more profound. When the fourth GC (Jerson) was onboarded to remediate the outstanding issues, the brown stain issue was one of the items on the punch list. During the initial walk though, Jerson removed the grout that had the brown stain and found evidence of water on the cement underneath the tile. On January 3, 2017 the contractors removed the toilet and ripped out several floor tiles with the intent of identifying water leak. Once the area was exposed the leak was not apparent and therefore required a more in depth research according to the GC perhaps breaking the floor to again access to the pipes thus, requiring Lowe s approval before proceeding. The GC informed me that he would meet with Lowe s to propose his recommendations and that I should hear back from them in the next couple of day. On January 9th, as I waited to hear back from Lowe s regarding the next steps the contactors arrived at the house unannounced to install the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Rates Of Teen Pregnancy Essay INTRODUCTION Throughout the United States, rates of teen pregnancy are significantly high. In 2013, there were 26.5 births for every 1,000 adolescent females ages 15 19, or 273,105 babies born to females in this age group.1 Young, minority women between the ages of 15 and 24 appear to be at greater risk for becoming pregnant. Minority populations are also linked with low socioeconomic status, whether in terms of education or income, or both. Having low income and lower levels of education (the most commonly used measures of SES) were also associated with increased risk for unintended pregnancies, with 62% of pregnancies being unintended among those earning 200% of the FPL.2 In addition, with minority populations growing rapidly, many of these young women and their families live in smaller, more rural areas. According to one study, in rural and small town areas the Hispanic population increased by 1.9 million or 46 percent between 2000 and 2010.3 In rural areas there is often limited access to nearby health care facilities. With income, education and living inadequacies, these young women face complications with availability and ready access to contraception, and are therefore less likely to practice effective utilization of contraceptives. There is evidence that minority and low SES women are less likely to use contraception overall, use different contraceptive methods, and have higher rates of contraceptive failure than white and higher SES women.2 Cultural beliefs and ... Summary Modigliani Miller L1 Modigliani Miller (1958) The Cost of Capital, Corporation Finance and the Theory of Investment This article mainly discusses the cost of capital, the required return necessary to make a capital budgeting project worthwhile. Cost of capital includes the cost of debt and the cost of equity. Theorist conclude that the cost of capital to the owners of a firm is simply the rate of interest on bonds. In a world without uncertainty the rational approach would be (1) to maximize profits and (2) to maximize market value. • 6. Tracking Population Movements With Mobile Phone Network Data TITLE OF ARTICLE: Improved Response to Disasters and Outbreaks by Tracking Population Movements with Mobile Phone Network Data: A Post Earthquake Geospatial Study in Haiti AUTHOR(S) OF ARTICLE: Linus Bengtsson, Xin Lu, Anna Thorson, Richard Garfield, Johan von Schreeb PURPOSE OF ARTICLE: This article was about research conducted on movements and disbursement of populations after the earthquake and cholera outbreak in Haiti in 2010 and how the movement of populations after a sudden disaster can impede response and actually increase the mortality rate. Research was conducted, using subscriber identity module cards, or SIM cards, of the population of the affected disaster zone to research the movement of people after the earthquake struck. TOPIC: The topic of this research article was whether or not the use of SIM cards was a viable way to measure and track disbursement of populations after a disaster occurred. MAIN CONCLSUION: The main point that can be taken from this article is that this cellular data taken from SIM cards can be used, with success, to track population disbursement after a disaster strikes. It can allow emergency personnel to dispatch to the areas where the injured or stricken population have traveled to, instead of setting up posts only at the place stricken. It can also give more specific estimates to the population that could not disperse and were present during the event. They also found that this method using technology can possibly be used for the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Keene Act outlawed the masquerading of superheroes in the 1970s and led to the dissolution of many superheroes. The murder of an old colleague, The Comedian, forces them to come out of retirement and sets the events of the graphic novel into place. Moore and Gibbons sets up a world of superheroes in the midst of a very real historical period of the Cold War. I believe that middle and high schools should have designated times for students to be able to take short naps because it helps students refocus. A recent study showed that students do not fully wake up until around 10:30 A.M. proving that schools start way too early for them to absorb all the knowledge given to them. The main goal of a school is to educate their pupils but with the majority of them too tired to focus, the goal cannot be reached. However, recently the buyers who were once remorseful, are now in a position to take back new homes and start their families thank to the turnaround of the real estate market. This is because the audit firm was not under a contract agreement with the major shareholder, and the fact that the major shareholder can be considered a third party in the contract between Jimmy Farnham and Aussie Outback Tours Ltd. The law is not definitively clear on the auditor s liability to third parties (Porter, Ó hÓgartaigh Baskerville, 2012). An auditor owes a duty of care to their direct client, and any damages incurred by the client due to negligence on the part of the auditor makes the auditor liable in terms of contract and also in tort (Nguyen Rajapakse, 2008). Between 1890 and 1906, every southern state was involved in constitutional provisions and passing laws that were meant to completely wipe out the black vote altogether. During police interviewing of the men, the police deployed barbaric interrogation techniques, petrifying the men into signing false confessions (Belloni and Hodgson, 2000. pg. 10). These confessions, used as evidence against the men in court, wrongly imprisoned them. However, two years later in 1992, the scandalous nature of the police investigation was exposed and the men were released (Campbell, 2013). The court s decision to quash the sentence exposed the misconduct and institutional racism present in the police. The Cardiff Three is an example of the police fabricating confessional evidence, through the torment and torture of the men. All three men were from BAME backgrounds and had consequently been framed for a crime they didn t commit. Vibration test of composite materials on the basis of measurement of dynamic properti INTRODUCTION On the basis of measurement of viscoelastic and dynamic properties, there are four important parameter such as damping, relaxation, creep, and strain rate, which describes evidence of viscoelastic behavior and can be calculated with the help of an experiment, but this paper describes the method of test for the measurement of damping. In addition, the notation of complex modulus describes conventionally for damping and dynamic stiffness of linear viscoelastic materials, where the methods of vibration test are considered for measurement of complex moduli of composites. With the help of this test of plates and beams to find dynamic elastic moduli also get evaluated. In vibration test, notation for complex modulus is suitable for portrayal of dynamic behavior of linear viscoelastic composites. The damping and stiffness which are the constituent part of the complex modulus are belongs to the dynamic mechanical properties, which may be measured with the help of experiments with vibration and wave propagation experiments ,and the measurement of the same is considered for dynamic mechanical analysis. For example, in Vivaldi s second concerto summer he depicts a peaceful, calm mood at the beginning of the first movement. The atmosphere is extraordinarily vivid, depicting the oppressive heat from the Mediterranean sun. The plaintive signs of the violin, separated by silences which suggest the intake of breath is a tiring exertion, it gives no hint to the explosive energy that lies ahead. (See example two). Plagiarism Is More Effective Than Just Punishing Students Later Draft Scott Jaschik discusses various situations of plagiarism in college in his article, Winning Hearts and Minds in War on Plagiarism, in order to argue that there are more efficient solutions to prevent plagiarism. Jaschik published this article in Inside Higher Ed, which is an online news source, that he cofounded, targeting first year English and college writing instructors. In the article, he explores different ways of preventing plagiarism and emphasizes the importance of academic integrity. By drawing on different instructor perspectives, he employs various situations such as an online student discussion board and an assignment to purposely plagiarize in order to highlight common issues with why students plagiarize. Although there still was some unintentional plagiarizing, the open minded conversation between Hagopian and her students was more beneficial and effective for the students because it taught them the, difference between deliberate fraud and failed apprenticeship (Jaschik 262). This example strengthens Jaschik s idea by specifically illustrating how first year writing instructors being more open minded towards plagiarism can be more beneficial for the students. Jaschik also describes another example with Roy Stamper, an associate writing director, who followed an online student discussion board where students discussed how they felt about plagiarizing which led Stamper to discover that there was also a strong, intense reaction from other students much of it critical (263). Jaschik uses this to illustrate how his lurking online raised many questions and whether, an intense workload puts an emphasis for students on efficiency as opposed to quality (263 4). This example also strengthens Jaschik s argument in that it appeals to the first year writing instructors by giving insight on various students opinions on plagiarizing. This is effective to the instructors because it allows them to learn some reasons why students plagiarize, such as being overloaded and not having enough time. Spoken by Colonel Sam Daniels, a character in the fictional movie about Ebola, Outbreak. The Ebola virus is the most feared virus of our time. What exactly is Ebola? Ebola is a viral hemorrhagic fever actually named after the River Ebola in Zaire, Africa, where it was first discovered. It belongs to a genus of ribonucleic viruses called filoviruses, under the family Filofiridae, which are characterized by their filament like (thread like) appearance with a little hook or loop at the end. Only five viruses exist in this family: the not as deadly Marburg, and the four Ebola strains: Ebola Zaire, Ebola Sudan, Ebola Tai and Ebola Reston. The latter ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (Tables I and II) The viruses in this family range from 800 to 1000 nanometers in length. Marburg and Ebola are distinguished by their length after purification. Infectivity depends on particular lengths: the longer, the more infectious. All Ebola viruses measure up to about the same length. Each virus particle consists of a helical coiled tube made of four virally encoded proteins. This strand of RNA is found in an envelope formed from the host s plasma cell membrane, which is now spiked with another carbohydrate coated viral protein. Differences in gene sequence and very small differences in serological nature are what make each Ebola virus unique from each other, with its own antigenic and biological properties. The time needed for Ebola virus replication in infected body cells takes less than eight hours. Hundreds to thousands of new viral particles can be produced and released from the host cell within days or even hours before the host cell dies. This replication process is repeated several times in an Ebola patient before symptoms begin to show. The diagnosis of Ebola is made by the detection of Ebola antibodies, antigens or genetic material, or by the culture of the virus, in blood or other bodily fluid specimens that are examined in specialized laboratory tests. Such tests present a very extreme biohazard, so they are conducted in special high containment laboratories to ensure maximum protection for scientists. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Gloria Steinem discusses a similar idea in her article, quot;Sex, Lies, and Advertising. quot; She repeatedly demonstrates how advertisements, particularly in magazines, are complementary to the articles around them. In the same manner, so are commercials to television programs. They are both aimed at the same groups or types of people, such as sex, age, gender, etc. Many times, the time of day or day of the week a show is aired has a lot to do with the types of viewers the program will attract. Most of them had female voice overs with predominantly white actors and/or actresses. The actors and/or actresses were also good looking, thin, and of high to medium status. In Steinem s terms, and as mentioned by Cayo Gamber, an advertisement is generally linked to the article, or in this case, the program. The show is seen as a quot;complementary copy quot; for the commercials; because it included certain accessories to a person in the same life style as the characters in the program. The cars advertisements, in particular, were at times found in the show. However, the other products weren t really enforced by the program. This includes implying that one is ugly, stupid, fat, etc., and this personal approach causes the victim to have further self confidence issues and to believe that the abuse is their own fault (Stosny). On the other hand, physical abuse tends to make it likely for the victim to realize that the abuser has a problem, rather than themselves. If emotional abuse did not target and was not as personal, the effects would fall lower than what they are. However, emotional abuse causes it to be about the persons themselves and their spirit (Stosny). • 31. On Liberty John Stuart Mill Summary The novel On Liberty was written by the remarkable philosopher John Stuart Mill. Through the essay, he discusses phenomenal assumptions that are not examined oftentimes due to the reason that society perceives Freedom of Expression only as beneficial. Also, individuals often overlook the impact that the authority has on the fundamental freedom of free speech. They often truly believe that we are absolutely free to do everything they cherish. Mill deconstructs these ideas and enlightens us with new perspectives. This does not ultimately mean that all of the arguments that Mill highlights could be implemented within society. John Stuart Mill s argument concerning free speech has elements that are both feasible and infeasible when applied in the real world. The primary question of On Liberty that Mill question within this literacy phenomenal is What are the nature and limits of the power which can be legitimately exercised by society over the individual? (Mill, 1859,p1). Mill further deconstructs his own response that the individual should have the right to speak whatever they cherish, but through this process, no person should be harmed (Mill,1859,pg8). His argument is built upon on two notions: Individual Sphere and Social Sphere. In the Individual Sphere freedom of thought is given high importance compared to compulsion (Mill, 1859, 10). Thus, we as individuals should be allowed to speak or think whatever we desire. On the other hand, in the Social Sphere, we have a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Well, in 2015, 149 people were exonerated from prison because they were falsely convicted of crimes. One of the many incidents of this was the case against Glenn Ford. He was sentenced to death by electrocution in 1984 for robbery and first degree murder of Isadore Rozeman. He spent 30 years in prison until 2014, when he was exonerated. The reason for choosing this topic is because although numbers are decreasing, there are still people who have been falsely convicted and sent to prison; and at least 4.1% of innocents are on death row. We must stop this corruption of false convictions in the court. If false conviction is an unfamiliar term, a false conviction is when an innocent defendant is convicted of a crime they never committed. This is considered an injustice because there are more than 8,000 people who are on death row for something they never did. The courts should be where the people find the truth of the trial, but this rarely happens. Some trials may have the truth come to light, but not many. Instead, it has only resolved conflicts between the defendant and plaintiff. As stated prior, although there are decreasing numbers, it is still an injustice that occurs. • 43. General Mcauliffe s Tactical Mission Tactical Situation 1. Mission: General McAuliffe s mission was simple; hold the town of Bastogne at any cost to prevent the German counter assault from breaking through the Allied line. The town was strategically held to prevent high speed avenues of approach, as well as access to supply and mobilization routes for the Axis forces. The roadways of St. Vith and Bastogne were paramount for the Germans to advance north, and press on to the Meuse River, which was their objective. Also part of his mission parameters were to destroy Axis fuel depots to limit maneuverability of the Panzer division. This would limit the capabilities of the feared Panzer tanks. The town is located on the western border of Luxembourg approximately halfway between Holland and France. The allies advanced from Holland in the north, and France in the South, creating a choke point to round up the German lines, and maintain all high speed avenues of approach west of Germany. This would mean that German forces would be consolidated and fortified, making it a consolidated battle of attrition. This was intended to be a battle of patience, and to wait until one force ran low enough on supplies or manpower, that the other would be overtaken with ease.
