This document discusses the importance of researcher reflexivity in qualitative research. Reflexivity refers to the researcher systematically attending to how their own background and perspectives influence the research process. To practice reflexivity, the researcher should provide their perspective on who they are, their worldview, and their relationship to the research topic, participants, and site. This allows the reader to understand how the researcher may influence data collection, analysis, and findings. The researcher must continually reexamine their perspective throughout the study as their relationship with participants and understanding of the topic may evolve. Questions are provided to guide researchers in critically reflecting on how their identities and experiences shape their research.
