Introduction 
• Investigation using scientific procedures 
by searching again and again to find out 
the truth. 
• Research is the continual research for 
truth using the scientific method. It is the 
pursuit of the truth with the help of study, 
investigation,observation,comparison,and 
experimentation.
Meaning of Research 
Webster’s international dictionary 
• “A careful critical inquiry or examination 
in seeking facts or principles of diligent 
investigation in order to ascertain 
something.” 
Cambridge dictionary 
“A detailed study of a subject, especially in 
order to discover (new) information or 
reach a (new) understanding.”
Definition: Research 
• A/c to John Best, “ Research is a more 
systematic activity directed towards discovery 
and the development of an organized study of 
knowledge. 
• A/c to Lundberg, “Research is sufficiently 
objective and systematic to make possible 
classification, generalization and verification of 
the data observed. 
• A/c to Clifford Woody, “Research is a careful 
inquiry or principles, a diligent investigation to 
ascertain somethig.
Basic Concept of researcher 
• Researcher might verify and evaluate 
idea. 
• If we do not verify, no one believes. 
• Researcher have to evaluate the proposed 
idea in order to know the numerical 
results, safety, reliability, and so on. 
• Research can use calculation and/ or 
simulation and /or experiments in order to 
evaluate the proposed idea.

• Research have to consider advantage / 
disadvantage and side effect. 
-Everything has merit and demerit . 
-Nothing has only good views proposed method 
for solving problem has to trade off. 
• To discover the limitation and side effect is for 
safety of public.

it has reason and cause.

Scope of Research 
• Research for decision making 
• Helps social scientists in studying social 
relationships and in seeking answers to 
various social problems. 
• For students, research means a careerism 
or a way to attain a high position in the 
social structure.
Objective Research 
The prime objective of research are: 
• To discover new facts. 
• To verify and test important facts. 
• To analyze an event or process or phenomenon 
to identify the cause and effect relationship. 
• To final solution to scientific, nonscientific and 
social problems and. 
• To overcome or solve the problems occurring in 
our every day life.
Signification of Research 
• To gather necessary information. 
• To make change. 
• Improving standard of living. 
• For a safer life. 
• To know the truth. 
• Explore our history. 
• Understanding arts.
Conclusion 
We can conclude that the research is a 
systematic logical and structural, with 
specific sequence in accordance with a 
well defined set of rules.
