RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Research methodology is the
specific procedures or techniques used to
identify, select, process, and analyze
information about a topic.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RESEARCH
METHODS AND RESEARCH
METHODOLOGY
• Research method :- The tools or Techniques
for researchers for perform the research work,
but
Research Methodology :- The Process of
knowing that how to conduct the research
work scientifically.
Meaning of Research
Research is the systematic Process of
collecting and Analyzing the Information
about your topic to Increase the Knowledge,
treatment, and for evolution of New things.
OR
A systematized efforts to gain New Knowledge.
OR
The Art of Scientific Investigation.
Objective of Research
- To Discover New Information of topic.
- To find out the truth which is hidden.
- To gain familiarity with Phenomenon.
- To test hypothesis.
- To Explore the knowledge.
- To depict the actual characteristics of topic.
- To discover the solution of Problem.
- To collect, organize and evaluate data.
Motivations of Research
- Desire to get a research degree along with its
benefits.
- Desire to get respectability.
- Desire to get Intellectual joy of doing some
creative thing.
- Desire to be of service for society.
- Desire to face challenges in solving the
problems.

DISCRIPTIONS OF TYPES
1. FUNDAMENTAL / BASIC RESEARCH(NATIONAL SCIENCE FOUNDATION)
- Mainly concern with the generalizations and formulation of
theory.
- Is directed towards finding information.
eg- concerning with natural phenomenon
DISCRIPTION OF TYPES
2. APPLIED RESEARCH(NATIONAL SCIENCE FOUDATION)
Finding a solution for Immediate problem
facing a society or organization.
Eg.- Market Research
DISCRIPTION OF TYPES
3. EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH (national science foundation)
Systematic and scientific approach in
which the researcher manipulates one or
more independent variables and observes the
effect on a dependent variable while
controlling for extraneous variables.
Eg. Quantitative and qualitative research
RESEARCH APPROACHES
It involves the description of the plan to
investigate the phenomenon under study in a
structured, unstructured or a combination of
two methods.
Therefore the approach helps to decide
about the presence or absence as well as
manipulation and control over variables.
Some basic approaches
1. The population, Sample and Sampling
Techniques.
2. The Time, Place and Sources of Data
collection.
3. Tools and Methods of data collection.
Types of Approaches
Qualitative Approaches :-
- Concerned with subjective assessment of attitudes, opinions
and behavior.
EG. – Group Interview, Project Techniques etc.
Quantitative Approaches :-
-Generation of data in Quantitative form which can be subjected
to rigorous quantitative analysis in a formal and rigid fashion.
Subclasses – 1. Inferential Approach
2. Experimental Approach
3. Simulation Approach
Significance of Research
- It helps in finding the solution.
- To the students who are to write a Phd; it is a careerism.
- To Professionals in research methodology, research
means a source of live hood.
- To philosophers and thinkers researcher may mean the
outlet for new ideas and insights.
- To literary man research means the development of new
syles and creative work.
- To the intellectual research mean the generalization of
new theories.

PROCESS.
