Examples Of Use And Gratification Theory
USES AND GRATIFICATION THEORY
Uses and gratification theory is a theories that concentrate on what people do with the media and what
media does for the people. Uses and gratification theory is different from others theories that it
suppose that because individuals have the right to use the media, not passive consumers who position
themselves as media. Uses and gratification theory to explore how individuals purposely look for
media to meet specific needs, such as entertainment, relaxation or socialization or goal. Several
researchers have classified the type of uses and gratifications into a fourfold category system such as
cognition, diversion, social utility, affiliation, withdrawal, and expression.
COGNITION
Cognition means a process of learning. Individuals will uses a cognitive way to obtain information
about something by using a mass medium. People watch news to get what had happening in our world
or look for some news idea from a magazine or books. However, research has noticed that there are
two different types of cognitive functions are being performed. The one hand is using the ... Show

The Monkey s Head Of The King
The dragonflies roared around the monkey s head. The king s cousin flew through the nose and delved
into the brain. Massive armies attacked through the ears. The lord s most trusted followers zipped in
after him, maintaining their ranks. The glorious king commanded majestically at the head of the army,
in the battle, where he could be wounded. The sunlight glistened off of his wings as he soared through
the regiments. It was vital that he be here for this moment, for this was the last of the primates.
Except for humans.
The Dragonfly King strictly forbade disease carrying, for it was unethical and may spread among his
fellows. He could afford no losses, for each and every troop was crucial to world domination. While

Here is my plan. I shall participate directly as your commander and fellow.
Feel free to call me Iudraicor.
But, Your Highness
Please, spare me Lindworm. We are all dragonflies. My job is to serve you. If anything, I should be
calling you my lord.
Oh no! That will not be necessary, Your oh, I mean, uh, Iudraicor.
The Dragon King laughed and smiled genially.
Let us get started. Our target is eighteen fly metes at the left wing. He spoke to the crowd of flies now.
Vovin, Arach, and Ormr, take your regiments around to the abdomen of the beast. Sarkany, Naga,
Khoth, and Volante, loop yours around to the right wing. Lindworm and I will take the left. Go, go,
go!
The flies whizzed past him. His regiment stayed put, waiting for his word. He waited only because his
journey was by far the shortest, and he did not want to give away their presence by arriving early, then
dying because of lack of reinforcements.
Once all of the other flies had gone, he began his trip. His soldiers accompanied him in perfect order.
He had overestimated. All of the other dragonfly regiments were already in position, but camouflaged
beautifully among the trees and undergrowth.
Attack, he signalled calmly to the rest of the soldiers.
It was beautiful. The impressive force closed in rapidly on the human in the clearing. He screeched in
fear as a hoard of awe inspiring dragonflies soared at him. The density

The Department Of Human Health Services
The HHS (U.S Department of Human Health Services) was established to enhance as well as
protection for all citizens of America. They provide useful Human services and developed advances in
medicine, public health, and social services. These facilities and agency are government based with
mission to provide the public with health insurance and services. Overtime there have been a great
deal of historical highlights that shape what Human Health Services is today. Today we have
Medicare, Medicaid, and ACA, which demonstrate the time line and evolution of health insurance.
Lets go to the beginning it all started in 1798 an act of passage was provided for seamen who were ill
and disabled. This paved the way for many health discoveries, health technology, and modern day
medicines. The creation of the ACA helped drive and initiate many other different agencies and
divisions that were later established. Moreover Human Health Services provides and offers many
health programs to the citizens. Most of these programs cater to employees, disabled, and low income
families. Also the HHS is one earns highest amount in grants, it is said that they are grant making
agency in the United States.
The Human Health Service uses strategic plans and tactics to reinforce good health. Their mission and
goals are to first strengthen the health care. How they intend on doing that is that they will ensure that
everyone get covered for insurance through something that is known today as the Affordable

Rebel Battle Flag
The summer I spent at Harpers Ferry was the summer following the Emmanuel shooting in
Charleston. The summer when the Governor and Legislature of South Carolina decided that it may not
be such a good idea to be hoisting the banner of a group formed to kill the soldiers of the United States
Army on American soil to establish a government guaranteeing slavery in perpetuity on the grounds of
the state capitol might be seen as a endorsement of white supremacist violence. Said legislature, of
course, could have in no way been able to come to this conclusion when they began flying the rebel
battle flag, in 1961, as they were busy contesting school desegregation and with the concerning news
that buses of Freedom Riders were being fire bombed and beaten by Klansman a few states away. The
Parks Service had announced they would no longer sell the most recognizable symbol of the guys who
killed a hundred thousand men fighting under the American flag to create a nation where white
supremacy was safe from all challenge in affiliated gift shops. Some visitors were very concerned at
this whitewashing of American history (which is funny because the history they preferred to discuss
was typically very white). As I sat in the reconstruction of a United States Army Provost Marshall s
Office circa 1864, a visitor demanded to know why there was no Confederate flag on ... Show more

workers union which began to develop ideas for a revolution, they demanded for political change and
captured a willing audience within the working society.
The political problems are seen as a long term problem; political problems can also be seen as being
as a main factor that was responsible for the 1905 revolution. Russia was still an autocracy, all power
rested with the Tsar. Other major European states were a democracy and had an elected parliament
that spoke and worked for the people. Political groups began to form, the Social Revolutionaries were
founded in 1901, they were willing to use violence to achieve a change in Russia, from 1901 1905 the
Social Revolutionaries were responsible for over two thousand assassinations, one being the Tsar s
Uncle, Grand Duke Sergei the governor general of Moscow.
The Social Democrats were another influential political group, formed in 1898 they two were also
willing to use violent methods to achieve their revolutionary aims. The Social Democrats wanted to
turn society around and give power to the workers and peasants of the land. By 1905 the Social
Democrats has split into two groups, the Bolsheviks and Mensheviks.
All these political groups began to educate the country on revolutionary change, how other countries
were richer and more powerful, how they needed change if they wanted a better life. After Bloody
Sunday many people in the country began to listen to the political groups, as they knew that

Revenge In The Crucible
Revenge: to avenge oneself by retaliating. This is, and always will be, a part of human nature. The
theme of revenge is also prevalently shown in literature and media. Arthur Miller s play The Crucible
excellently portrays the idea of vengeance and closure. Revenge is largely shown throughout The
Crucible through the dozens of false accusations, and this theme translates to modern times as shown
in our justice system and terrorism. It is said that many people who are victims, turn into the
victimizer. This is often times a true statement. In The Crucible this is proven through Abigail s pain
and her hunt for revenge. Once Elizabeth discovers John and Abigail s affair, she fires Abigail as her
maid. This causes Abigail to be extremely hurt

program problems. Test, maintain, and monitor computer programs and systems, including
coordinating the installation of computer programs and systems. Consult with management to ensure
agreement on system principles. Expand or modify system to serve new purposes or improve work
flow (Business Dictionary, 2012).
A lot of the work will consist of analyzing, testing, and modifying. This is why a CPAF contract was
used instead of a fixed cost contract because it is difficult to predict actual costs. A company would
put themselves in a bad situation to have a fixed cost contract if the costs where more than the
contracted amount (Murphy, 2009, pp. 24 7). As with any project, there will always be costs or
expenses associated. The type of expenses will always depend on the type of work or project. Some
expenses that will be associated with this contract are direct and indirect costs. Direct costs are costs
that can be totally identified with or traced back to a particular product or service. Those costs are
materials, labor, or expenses related to producing the product or service. Indirect costs are not easily
traced back to a particular product or service, or can be involved with other products or services in the
same time period. Booz Allen provides services so they will never have material costs associated with
any project

The Greatest Sports Game Created Essay
The greatest sports game created
Thirty seconds left in the La Liga cup finals. Real Madrid is playing the Notorious FC Barcelona.
Everything is on the line. Cristiano Ronaldo has the ball on his foot. He cuts left passing a right
midfielder. Ronaldo advances forward towards the opponent s goal. Again, he dashes toward the next
man, double step over, rake, Cruyff turn, scissor, and another cut to his left to be the center defensive
midfielder. With every second gone the pressure rises. Ronaldo has two more defenders to beat before
he has a chance to shoot the ball. Instead, he does the unthinkable, from 34 yards out he strikes a
driven ball with the outside of his right foot putting it perfectly in the upper left hand corner of the
goal to win the game. I know what you re thinking there is no way that is true and you may be partly
right. This event did take place, however, in the new FIFA 17 video game.
Growing Popularity
The FIFA video game is ever growing in its popularity. According to the Neil Herndon from the
Forbes Insider, FIFA 12 sold 3.2 million copies in a single week (Herndon). And it is no surprise why.
Soccer is the most popular sport in the world and it does not take a rocket scientist to figure that one
out. FIFA also Holds the record of fastest selling sports game to this day, and generated $180m in
retail the first week of release (Herndon). FIFA has so many different features and gameplay modes.
Ultimate team by far is the most popular.

Peanut Butter Cup American Culture
Since 1928, the H. B. Reese company s been making the irresistible combination of chocolate and
peanut butter known as the Reese s Peanut Butter Cup. The significance of this artifact in the american
culture and history is, without a doubt, vastly significant. As a confection, both peanut butter and
chocolate pack a strong punch in their own right. They are often main ingredients in cookies, cakes,
ice creams, and other desserts and treats. They re familiar... there s something instinctively American
and close to home about them both. It is no wonder they need very little persuasion of the American
people to become the number one most popular candy in the United States by a wide margin.

The Four Stages And Functions Of The Skeletal System
There are 270 bones in the human body at birth, decreasing to 206 by adulthood due to the fact that
some bones fuse together as we grow. The functions of the skeletal system are numerous. It provides a
framework for the body; produces blood cells; provides protection for organs; helps us breathe; acts as
a warehouse for mineral storage and allows for movement.
Bones in the human body form in the process called ossification. There are four stages in ossification,
1.) Embryonic bone formation; 2.) Bone growth throughout life starting in infancy through adulthood;
3.) Bone remodeling, and 4.) Fracture (breaks in the bone) repair.
The visible layer of a bone is called the periosteum, which is a type of tough connective tissue. The
periosteum contains blood vessels, lymph vessels, nerves and cells that assist in rebuilding damaged
bone tissue. Additionally, ligaments and tendons attach to the periosteum. The end of the bone is
called the epiphysis, and the region between the ends is called the diaphysis. On examination of a
bone, you can see the epiphyseal plate, often called the growth plate. This looks like a line dividing
the diaphysis and epiphysis. Inside the bone is a hollow channel. This is called the medullary cavity,
and acts as a storage place for yellow and red bone marrow. Yellow marrow gets its color from high
fat content. Red marrow makes blood cells.
There are 2 types of bone tissue, spongy and compact bone. Compact bone is hard and usually found
in the shafts of long bones, and in the outer layer of other types of bones. (There are 4 types of bones,
long, short, flat and irregular bones.) Compact bone, as its name implies, is tightly packed, making it
strong and dense.
Spongy bone is the interior of the bone. Spongy bone has larger spaces than compact bone, giving it
the appearance of sponge. Spongy bone is also lighter, because it is not packed so tightly, and also
gives a space for the red bone marrow.
Intramembranous ossification is the simplest bone formation method. The flat bones of the skull, most
facial and mandibular bones, and the medial clavicle are formed this way. Chemical messengers
causes cells to the mesenchyme (tissue from which most connective tissue forms) to cluster at an

The Effects Of Physical Inactivity On Children s...
As noted above Mike s health is considered frail and so he is not engaged in any form of exercise or
any physical activities. The best he does with regards to exercise is to take a stroll in the hallway and
he must be under supervision. Researches have shown that physical inactivity can contribute to the
development and impact of chronic disease. Warburton, Nicol Bredin in their literature review in the
Canadian Medical Association Journal reported that there is irrefutable evidence of the effectiveness
of regular physical activity in the primary and secondary prevention of several chronic diseases (e.g.,
cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, hypertension, obesity, depression and osteoporosis) and
premature death (Warburton, Nicol Bredin, 2006).
Michael however still exercise, in fact exercise is part of his rehabilitation plan. The fact that he has
been very active before now is very beneficial and it has really helped to speed up his recovery
process. Research has shown that pre operative and post operative exercise is beneficial in older adult
because it can help to restore functionality. Hoogeboom et.al states that in older adult therapeutic
exercise before and after surgery might augment the postoperative outcomes by improving functional
status and reducing the complication and mortality rate (Hoogeboom et.al, 2014). For the elderly
undergoing hip replacement such as Michael, they concluded that Pre and postoperative exercise is

The Is A Documentary Film By Josh Fox
Gasland is a documentary film by Josh Fox. It all began when a natural gas company wishing to buy
his land for use of drilling approached him on him, in Milanville, Pennsylvania. He was told that his
home was sitting on a natural gas field called the Marcellus Shale. The company claimed the
Marcellus Shale was the Saudi Arabia of natural gas (Gasland). All of that led Josh to want to find out
more about what exactly natural gas drilling meant for everyone around the country. This led him to
the 2005 Energy Bill, which was pushed through by Dick Cheney, exempted the oil and natural gas
industry from the Clean Water Act, Safe Drinking Water Act, Clean Air Act, and many other
environmental laws. The information is interesting because Dick Cheney was CEO of Halliburton, the
father of natural gas drilling. All of this information led Josh to the western America to see first hand
the affects natural gas drilling that has been active in that area for at least a decade. Natural gas is
extracted through a process called hydraulic fracturing, which drills a well and then pumps a mixture
of water and fracking fluid. This fracking fluid contains over 595 different chemicals that have been
uncovered with no help from the hydraulic fracturing industry. These dangerous chemicals can lead to
many health problems experienced by many residents whose house fall around the same area as many
fracking sites. One of the people he talked to was Lisa Braken, who grew up in the area of Divide

DNA Fingerprinting To begin with, law enforcement should be allowed to use DNA profiling in
criminal investigations because it can help investigators figure out exactly who the guilty party is and
it would eliminate false accusations. More than 2,000 people have been exonerated of serious crimes
since 1989 in the United States, according to a report by college researchers who have established the
first national registry of exonerations. Many people have been mistakenly accused and convicted of a

My Special Place Of Voyageurs National Park
My special place is a campsite called Day Maker 23 located on a small island on Namaken Lake in
Voyageurs National Park. Voyageurs National Park is located in Orr Minnesota just south of the
Canadian border. It is also located on the Eastern edge of the Canadian Shield. An exposed area of
Precambrian stone. My island does not have a specific name, but it appears to be a break off of
Sweetnose island in the Blind Indian Narrows located at 48°26 33.7 N 92°46 33.0 W. Day Maker 23 is
unique in that its location causes a division in current going through the narrows causing stronger
currents towards the west side of the island. This was a phenomenon that we often had to deal with as
the current would push our boat against the only dock on the island located on the western point. The
only campsite on the island was also located on the western point, but was significantly more elevated
than its rocky shoreline. This elevation, coupled with the island s location caused for a constant breeze
to blow over the campsite (Appendix D). Day Maker 23 had a very rocky shoreline characterized by
many of the islands within Voyageurs National Park. These rocks vary in size, with some rocks having
large cracks with small caves (Appendix C). The rocks around the shoreline were typically light grey
in color with some variations in texture and crystal size. (Appendix B) I do not remember the rocks
being particularly sandy, however, I have also not been to the site in four to five years. These

Video Games
Video Games The Forgotten Art Ask any major in the fine arts for the definition of art. They re likely

of are clay for a sculpture, paint for a masterpiece, even music notes for a four movement suite. The
last thing you d think of is a computer program for a video game. But why not? Don t video games
incorporate both artwork and music? Each one is considered art, but many people consider the result,
when put together, to be a waste of time. Through personal experience, I would have to define art as

For example, most military games are based solely on some war or other, such as the games Call of
Duty or Medal of Honor. Neither game is very original, as they really have no storyline other than to
run around shooting the enemies. Originality is a prime requisite of a game being considered art.
Other games lacking in uniqueness are games based on movies or books. Most famous in this category
are the Star Wars games and Lord of the Rings series. Both may be very fun to play, but being fun to
play does not make them art. Art is original, fresh, never before thought of material. Star Wars and
Lord of the Rings both have engaging storylines, but said storylines had already been established
years before any game was produced. Again, to be art, a video game must have an original storyline,
not a preconceived one. As a rule, few games meet the originality criterion, but there are exceptions.
The Legend of Zelda. To any gamer it is a familiar name. The reason is simple it was the first of its

playing game, it allowed the gamer to be in the decision making role, not just a straight line, no
choices game, as most were at the time. This was a new concept for a video game at the time The
Legend of Zelda was released. The storyline was a huge success, as it drew the players into the game
world, made them feel as if they were a part of it. In The Legend of

conclusion that when someone acts, they are always striving towards some final goal. So how did
Aristotle explain eudaimonia or perfect happiness? Eudaimonia is the ultimate good we strive
towards, that requires no further questioning. What he means by no further questioning is this.
Something that is the final good you want to acquire from your work. Aristotle looked over several
possible answers before coming to his conclusion. First there is honor. But, we see that honor is just
another tool to reach ultimate fulfillment. Likewise, pleasure

Hitler s Single Party Dictatorship
Adolf Hitler s Single Party Dictatorship (Nazi Germany 1933 1945) Factors Leading to Hitler s
Consolidation to Power Adolf Hitler s rise to power in 1933 can be attributed to a series of
developments following Germany s defeat in World War I in 1918. Harsh terms imposed by the Treaty
of Versailles turned public opinions against the newly established Weimar Republic throughout the
1920s. The Weimar Republic, the democratic government established after Kaiser Wilhelm s
abdication of the throne, faced major public criticism and political instability. The German public
blamed the Weimer government for Germany s humiliation imposed by the Treaty of Versailles. Under
Versailles, Germany s military was limited to 100,000 troops, no air force, and ... Show more content

Immediately following Hitler s consolidation to power under the title of Chancellor, he quickly
changed the status quo under his regime with various political agendas. At the time of Hitler s
appointment to Chancellorship by President Hindenburg, Hitler and the Nazi party still lacked
majority representation in the German government. The Nazis only held three out of the eleven
cabinet posts, and only won 288 out of the 647 seats in the election of March 5, 1933. At the height of
Nazi representation, only 44% of the voting electorate supported the Nazi party. Thus, Hitler and his

Love And Hate Are Total Opposite Emotions Essay
Love and hate are total opposite emotions. Or are they? All emotions are produced by hormones.
Emotions may be hormones that come from the brain, but they are mostly led through the heart. Love
and hate have to subside, and are replaced by other less fiery emotions so that we don t burn out. Love
and hate are both strong emotions; however, one creates a positive feeling and the other created a
negative connotation. Both love and hate have a few interesting similarities and differences. One may
feel love towards something, but that doesn t mean that thing is good. One may also feel hate towards
something, but even that doesn t necessarily mean that thing is bad.
To love is the law of life itself. It is one of the most divine actions that a human being is capable of
producing. Love can accompany all of a person s fundamental actions. If we teach full of love and
passion, we save, and we will understand more clearly. If we listen with love, we hear better and take
in more. If we speak with love, our words will gain an unimaginably large force. If we sleep with love
in our souls, our sleep will be restful and as deep as the sea.
As long as we ask something in return for our love, it means that we have not exceeded the ego. How
could we fit unlimited into something limited? As long as we are selfish, our love is not love. It is
something that looks like love but it s not love. It can be sexual attraction, pity, respect, the need to
preserve or protect, but it s not love. In

Barbarians In The Odyssey
Last but definitely not least, Polyphemos from the Odyssey is by far at the tip of that barbarians scale.
In the beginning passage about Polyphemus, he is presented as quite gentle with his heard of sheep
while milking them, this give no indication to him being uncivilized and violent (Homer, pg. 143). But
as the story progress, the audience can sense that he is less and less similar to their ideal of a Greek

far better than the gods, this means he does not adhere to the same religious system as the Greeks do

Overcoming Obstacles Of Determination
Victory is like gaining trust; hard to earn, but you also have to put some effort in. Victory is not also
about winning; it s also about changing, as one cannot progress without change. Victory is not always
about winning; it s also about how you are determined to succeed so therefore determination is like a
soldier; to survive a conflict, you must persevere to continue. This is why Freedom Writers directed by
Richard Lagravenese, Divergent by Neil Burger, Glory Road directed by James Gartner, and The
Pursuit of Happiness by Gabriele Muccino, all set in different times were attempting to express the
message that, overcoming obstacles takes effort, resilience, and determination. The films are mainly
about how the protagonist who struggles in life overcame their obstacles by having determination,
being resilient. The director cleverly use Dialogue to justify that we shouldn t give up on something

Mexican American And Mexican-American Cultures
After reading the article, my understanding of the terms have changed drastically, when i personally
think about Mexican American or Chicana/O s, i think that they choose to identify as a certain culture
that represents them best.
When identifying as a culture or a best representation of how you feel in your heart, i feel it comes
from the way you are raised and brought up, if your family identifies as a Mexican American than you
will believe that is what you are, and it goes on from generation to generation.
Even 5 or 6 generations ago the family could have identified as Hispano s or even Spanish, but as
times change cultures change and people have change of heart.
These terms are not only culturally related but they are derived from struggle and identification from a
political standpoint, as what was taught in class the term Chicana/O is a political positioning for
people who have been positioned by the government.
From the outside looking in, when knowing someone identifies as a certain culture i notice that it is
not only a way of self identification that was passed down from suffering and scrutiny but it is also a
way of moving on from a certain struggle that has oppressed them for so many years.
Yes, these terms are a way of self identification, heritage, culture and a way of life, it goes back to the
same way you are brought up and the environment in which you live in.
Potentially while growing up and as you get older in life there is a possibility of changing

Soil Conservation In South Texas
What is soil? Soil is a mixture of broken rocks, minerals, living organisms, and decaying matter. Look
around you; do you think that we need soil in our everyday lives? Sure we do. Natural flowing water
is filtered through the soil thus making it drinkable. We breathe the air that is produced by plants that
grow in soil. Our clothes wouldn t be made if the cotton plant had no soil to grow in. Did you know
that soil makes up the outermost layer of our planet? Texas is home to more than 1,000 different kinds
of soil which are classified into 9 soil orders. Out of the 1,000 types of soil only 6% are able to sustain
crop life. In South Texas the most common type of soil is sandy loom soil which is classified as a

No till farming uses double disc openers to cut out the last crop planted and dropping the new seed in
its place. This farming technique does not disturb the soil as much as normal tilling. Many soil
conservationists argue that soil tillage destroys the aggregation and microorganism of the soil. This in
later terms reduces the sustainability of our food production and reduces the intake of water by the
crop. No till farming benefits all farmers when used with cover crop, crop rotation or windbreaks.
It may seem like we will never run out of soil, but soil conservation is a critical issue in Texas today.
So if the entire farming community implemented at least one type of soil conservation effort we would
widely improve our agriculture benefits. These benefits would include saving energy, by using less
diesel fuel for tractors. Implementation of these farming practices could save water and reduce several
types of diseases and pests that farmers encounter when planting their crops. This is no time to be
cutting corners on expenses because the United States spends about $37.6 billion each year on soil

Genocide Throughout History Throughout the history of mankind, horrific acts of genocide have been
committed. The Crusades, the Native American being murdered by the Europeans, the Forced Famine
in the Ukraine and the Killing Fields of Cambodia are all examples of genocide (Altman,55). The
word genocide comes from the Greek phrase genos meaning race or tribe and Latin root cide meaning
to kill (Altman,13). Genocide can be defined as acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in

The Nazi s accomplished their goal by rising to power, using techniques such as propaganda. Hitler
portrayed his victims as evil (Altman, 14). The term Hitler used was Untermenschem meaning
subhuman (Ayer, 9). Jews were not the only victims of the Nazi s. Gypsies, communists, male
homosexuals, Jehovah witnesses, Poles, political enemies, and the physically and metally handicapped
also suffered (Ayer, 9). Even thought Hitler killed many people, Jews were his most targeted victims.
Hitler s process of exterminating his victims was inhuman and extremely organized. Hitler used the
Jews as a scapegoat for all of Germany s problems. Hitler made glorious speeches to his people about
the importance of the Third Reich Empire or master race. Hitler strongly believed that German
speaking people were superior to all others. Hitler explained to his people the necessity of an empire

A Biblical Study of Spiritual Gift of Tongues Essay
Continuists argue that the spiritual gift of tongues still continue today. To understand this fully, we
need to remind ourselves of the primary purpose of the spiritual gifts and the spiritual gift of speaking
in tongues. Donald W. Burdick refutes the argument of the cessationists using I Corinthians 13:8.
According to him, we must notice, however, that this verse does not say that tongues were to cease at
the end of the apostolic age. However, he also concluded that healings, tongues, interpretation of
tongues, prophecy, and other gifts which may have been objectively miraculous in nature fade not due
to the sagging spiritual life of the church as claimed by the Pentecostals, but because they have
fulfilled their purpose.
Argument 3: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There, the people are willingly giving their lives away for the Gospel enduring beatings and hardships,
imprisonments and poverty. The Church in these places is more like the Church in Smyrna [Rev 2:8],
where believers suffered and died for the faith. It is surely unjust to class them with the Laodicean
church. What is true that during every age, the Seven Churches provide examples and warnings to the
Body of Christ as types of faithfulness and failure.
Conclusion
Spiritual gift of tongue is surely an interesting topic. A thorough study of this topic must be explored
by the church to understand fully its biblical meaning, purpose, characteristics, regulations, and life.
Each believer of the church must understand this doctrine so that they will be armed in battle or
spiritual warfare. This gift was given to the church by the God through the Holy Spirit at Pentecost,
the birth of the church, to validate the apostles as the messengers of God, with God s message. It is
also verified by various sources cited above that the glossolalia, or the tongue speaking meant by Paul
in his epistles were literal language known to man, a foreign language that may not be known to the

happens to interpret the utterances, thus, this is not a result of ecstatic utterance or in a trance. The

LONG TAIL TOURISM: NEW GEOGRAPHIES FOR MARKETING NICHE TOURISM
PRODUCTS Alan A. Lew ABSTRACT. The Long Tail concept refers to the Internet based economy
that has enabled company success through a focus on highly specialized services and products that are
not in high volume demand, but maybe in high value demand. The concept of the post tourist, for
example, is a Long Tail phenomenon. Long Tail marketing approaches are proving success due to
advances in communication technology and social networking that have given more people access to a
broader range of goods and services and information. The Long Tail is not without its challenges,
including increased global competition, and it has not abandoned geographic considerations.

The books section of Amazon.com rates each book based on how many copies have been sold. More
than 30% of Amazon book sales are for those that are below its 130,000 top sellers (Anderson, 2004;
Profiting from Obscurity, 2005). Amazon leverages the Long Tail by providing access to warehouses
that contain a much larger selection of books that are not available at any single brick and mortar
bookstore. In 2004, eBay.com had close to 105 million registered users worldwide who posted almost
one billion items for sale, resulting in over US$32 billion in total sales ( EBay Profit, 2004). They
accomplished this by enabling its users, including both individuals and small companies, to sell a
myriad of products within the infrastructure provided by the eBay website. Many of the items posted
for sale on eBay are not immediately sold and are not even bid upon because their demand is so low.
However, there is a demand. These low amplitude products comprise the Long Tail, and eBay may be
the most successful Long Tail aggregator yet. At the same time, however, the near monopoly position
of eBay.com itself, among online auction websites, points to some of the challenges of marketing in
the Long Tail. THE LONG TAIL MARKET APPROACH The Long Tail market has huge potential.
However, it is highly distributed and highly individualized. The lesson ofthe Long Tail is that low

The Design Of The Hardware
The selection of the hardware is a very critical part of the hardware implementation of the project; the
selector must know the pros and cons on the design of each component that is being used. The
selection can lead to the failure or success of the project. Therefore, special attention is required to the
selection process and it was discussed with the specialist of the electrical and mechanical engineering
fields to be on safe side. The main components of the system that are used in this project are as

It includes a motor controller. The function of the motor controller is to convert the DC into AC.
Mechanically, these motors have simpler design than the other types of the DC motor as there is no
requirement of transferring power to the spinning rotor from the outside of the motor. The position of
the rotor is sensed by the control of a Hall Effect sensor or any other such device to optimize torque
and regulate speed. Advantages Advantages of the Brushless DC motor are their long life, better
efficiency, and high RPM with no maintenance required. Disadvantages The design of the controllers
for these types of the motors is a bit more complex and they have relatively higher initial cost. These
are the only disadvantages of the Brushless DC motor. 2. Brushed DC motors: The generation of the
torque in the brushed DC motors is coming directly from the DC power. The internal commutation
and the magnets that are stationary (magnets can be permanent or electromagnet) supply the power to
the motor to generate the torque. These motors include carbon brushes to transfer the power to the
rotating shaft. Advantages The cost required for a brushed DC motor is relatively low compared to
other DC motors. These are highly reliable and have very simpler and basic type to control the motor.
Disadvantages The major disadvantages of this type of motor include a shorter life span

  • 3. The Monkey s Head Of The King The dragonflies roared around the monkey s head. The king s cousin flew through the nose and delved into the brain. Massive armies attacked through the ears. The lord s most trusted followers zipped in after him, maintaining their ranks. The glorious king commanded majestically at the head of the army, in the battle, where he could be wounded. The sunlight glistened off of his wings as he soared through the regiments. It was vital that he be here for this moment, for this was the last of the primates. Except for humans. The Dragonfly King strictly forbade disease carrying, for it was unethical and may spread among his fellows. He could afford no losses, for each and every troop was crucial to world domination. Sarkany, Naga, Khoth, and Volante, loop yours around to the right wing. Lindworm and I will take the left. Go, go, go! The flies whizzed past him. His regiment stayed put, waiting for his word. He waited only because his journey was by far the shortest, and he did not want to give away their presence by arriving early, then dying because of lack of reinforcements. Once all of the other flies had gone, he began his trip. His soldiers accompanied him in perfect order. He had overestimated. All of the other dragonfly regiments were already in position, but camouflaged beautifully among the trees and undergrowth. Attack, he signalled calmly to the rest of the soldiers. It was beautiful. The impressive force closed in rapidly on the human in the clearing. He screeched in fear as a hoard of awe inspiring dragonflies soared at him. The density ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Rebel Battle Flag The summer I spent at Harpers Ferry was the summer following the Emmanuel shooting in Charleston. The summer when the Governor and Legislature of South Carolina decided that it may not be such a good idea to be hoisting the banner of a group formed to kill the soldiers of the United States Army on American soil to establish a government guaranteeing slavery in perpetuity on the grounds of the state capitol might be seen as a endorsement of white supremacist violence. Said legislature, of course, could have in no way been able to come to this conclusion when they began flying the rebel battle flag, in 1961, as they were busy contesting school desegregation and with the concerning news that buses of Freedom Riders were being fire bombed and beaten by Klansman a few states away. The Parks Service had announced they would no longer sell the most recognizable symbol of the guys who killed a hundred thousand men fighting under the American flag to create a nation where white supremacy was safe from all challenge in affiliated gift shops. Some visitors were very concerned at this whitewashing of American history (which is funny because the history they preferred to discuss was typically very white). Arthur Miller s play The Crucible excellently portrays the idea of vengeance and closure. Revenge is largely shown throughout The Crucible through the dozens of false accusations, and this theme translates to modern times as shown in our justice system and terrorism. It is said that many people who are victims, turn into the victimizer. This is often times a true statement. In The Crucible this is proven through Abigail s pain and her hunt for revenge. Everything is on the line. Cristiano Ronaldo has the ball on his foot. He cuts left passing a right midfielder. Ronaldo advances forward towards the opponent s goal. Again, he dashes toward the next man, double step over, rake, Cruyff turn, scissor, and another cut to his left to be the center defensive midfielder. With every second gone the pressure rises. Ronaldo has two more defenders to beat before he has a chance to shoot the ball. Instead, he does the unthinkable, from 34 yards out he strikes a driven ball with the outside of his right foot putting it perfectly in the upper left hand corner of the goal to win the game. • 12. The Four Stages And Functions Of The Skeletal System There are 270 bones in the human body at birth, decreasing to 206 by adulthood due to the fact that some bones fuse together as we grow. The functions of the skeletal system are numerous. It provides a framework for the body; produces blood cells; provides protection for organs; helps us breathe; acts as a warehouse for mineral storage and allows for movement. Bones in the human body form in the process called ossification. There are four stages in ossification, 1.) Embryonic bone formation; 2.) Bone growth throughout life starting in infancy through adulthood; 3.) Bone remodeling, and 4.) Fracture (breaks in the bone) repair. The visible layer of a bone is called the periosteum, which is a type of tough connective tissue. The periosteum contains blood vessels, lymph vessels, nerves and cells that assist in rebuilding damaged bone tissue. Additionally, ligaments and tendons attach to the periosteum. The end of the bone is called the epiphysis, and the region between the ends is called the diaphysis. On examination of a bone, you can see the epiphyseal plate, often called the growth plate. This looks like a line dividing the diaphysis and epiphysis. Inside the bone is a hollow channel. This is called the medullary cavity, and acts as a storage place for yellow and red bone marrow. Yellow marrow gets its color from high fat content. Red marrow makes blood cells. There are 2 types of bone tissue, spongy and compact bone. Compact bone is hard and usually found in the shafts of long bones, and in the outer layer of other types of bones. (There are 4 types of bones, long, short, flat and irregular bones.) Compact bone, as its name implies, is tightly packed, making it strong and dense. Spongy bone is the interior of the bone. Spongy bone has larger spaces than compact bone, giving it the appearance of sponge. Spongy bone is also lighter, because it is not packed so tightly, and also gives a space for the red bone marrow. Intramembranous ossification is the simplest bone formation method. The flat bones of the skull, most facial and mandibular bones, and the medial clavicle are formed this way. Chemical messengers causes cells to the mesenchyme (tissue from which most connective tissue forms) to cluster at an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. The Effects Of Physical Inactivity On Children s... As noted above Mike s health is considered frail and so he is not engaged in any form of exercise or any physical activities. The best he does with regards to exercise is to take a stroll in the hallway and he must be under supervision. Researches have shown that physical inactivity can contribute to the development and impact of chronic disease. Warburton, Nicol Bredin in their literature review in the Canadian Medical Association Journal reported that there is irrefutable evidence of the effectiveness of regular physical activity in the primary and secondary prevention of several chronic diseases (e.g., cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, hypertension, obesity, depression and osteoporosis) and premature death (Warburton, Nicol Bredin, 2006). Michael however still exercise, in fact exercise is part of his rehabilitation plan. The fact that he has been very active before now is very beneficial and it has really helped to speed up his recovery process. Research has shown that pre operative and post operative exercise is beneficial in older adult because it can help to restore functionality. Hoogeboom et.al states that in older adult therapeutic exercise before and after surgery might augment the postoperative outcomes by improving functional status and reducing the complication and mortality rate (Hoogeboom et.al, 2014). • 14. The Is A Documentary Film By Josh Fox Gasland is a documentary film by Josh Fox. It all began when a natural gas company wishing to buy his land for use of drilling approached him on him, in Milanville, Pennsylvania. He was told that his home was sitting on a natural gas field called the Marcellus Shale. The company claimed the Marcellus Shale was the Saudi Arabia of natural gas (Gasland). All of that led Josh to want to find out more about what exactly natural gas drilling meant for everyone around the country. This led him to the 2005 Energy Bill, which was pushed through by Dick Cheney, exempted the oil and natural gas industry from the Clean Water Act, Safe Drinking Water Act, Clean Air Act, and many other environmental laws. The information is interesting because Dick Cheney was CEO of Halliburton, the father of natural gas drilling. All of this information led Josh to the western America to see first hand the affects natural gas drilling that has been active in that area for at least a decade. Natural gas is extracted through a process called hydraulic fracturing, which drills a well and then pumps a mixture of water and fracking fluid. This fracking fluid contains over 595 different chemicals that have been uncovered with no help from the hydraulic fracturing industry. These dangerous chemicals can lead to many health problems experienced by many residents whose house fall around the same area as many fracking sites. • 17. My Special Place Of Voyageurs National Park My special place is a campsite called Day Maker 23 located on a small island on Namaken Lake in Voyageurs National Park. Voyageurs National Park is located in Orr Minnesota just south of the Canadian border. It is also located on the Eastern edge of the Canadian Shield. An exposed area of Precambrian stone. My island does not have a specific name, but it appears to be a break off of Sweetnose island in the Blind Indian Narrows located at 48°26 33.7 N 92°46 33.0 W. Day Maker 23 is unique in that its location causes a division in current going through the narrows causing stronger currents towards the west side of the island. This was a phenomenon that we often had to deal with as the current would push our boat against the only dock on the island located on the western point. The only campsite on the island was also located on the western point, but was significantly more elevated than its rocky shoreline. This elevation, coupled with the island s location caused for a constant breeze to blow over the campsite (Appendix D). Day Maker 23 had a very rocky shoreline characterized by many of the islands within Voyageurs National Park. These rocks vary in size, with some rocks having large cracks with small caves (Appendix C). The rocks around the shoreline were typically light grey in color with some variations in texture and crystal size. For example, most military games are based solely on some war or other, such as the games Call of Duty or Medal of Honor. Neither game is very original, as they really have no storyline other than to run around shooting the enemies. Originality is a prime requisite of a game being considered art. Other games lacking in uniqueness are games based on movies or books. Most famous in this category are the Star Wars games and Lord of the Rings series. Both may be very fun to play, but being fun to play does not make them art. Art is original, fresh, never before thought of material. Star Wars and Lord of the Rings both have engaging storylines, but said storylines had already been established years before any game was produced. Emotions may be hormones that come from the brain, but they are mostly led through the heart. Love and hate have to subside, and are replaced by other less fiery emotions so that we don t burn out. Love and hate are both strong emotions; however, one creates a positive feeling and the other created a negative connotation. Both love and hate have a few interesting similarities and differences. One may feel love towards something, but that doesn t mean that thing is good. One may also feel hate towards something, but even that doesn t necessarily mean that thing is bad. To love is the law of life itself. It is one of the most divine actions that a human being is capable of producing. Love can accompany all of a person s fundamental actions. If we teach full of love and passion, we save, and we will understand more clearly. If we listen with love, we hear better and take in more. The concept of the post tourist, for example, is a Long Tail phenomenon. Long Tail marketing approaches are proving success due to advances in communication technology and social networking that have given more people access to a broader range of goods and services and information. The Long Tail is not without its challenges, including increased global competition, and it has not abandoned geographic considerations. Geography, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The books section of Amazon.com rates each book based on how many copies have been sold. More than 30% of Amazon book sales are for those that are below its 130,000 top sellers (Anderson, 2004; Profiting from Obscurity, 2005). Amazon leverages the Long Tail by providing access to warehouses that contain a much larger selection of books that are not available at any single brick and mortar bookstore. In 2004, eBay.com had close to 105 million registered users worldwide who posted almost one billion items for sale, resulting in over US$32 billion in total sales ( EBay Profit, 2004). They accomplished this by enabling its users, including both individuals and small companies, to sell a myriad of products within the infrastructure provided by the eBay website. Many of the items posted for sale on eBay are not immediately sold and are not even bid upon because their demand is so low. However, there is a demand. These low amplitude products comprise the Long Tail, and eBay may be the most successful Long Tail aggregator yet. At the same time, however, the near monopoly position of eBay.com itself, among online auction websites, points to some of the challenges of marketing in the Long Tail. THE LONG TAIL MARKET APPROACH The Long Tail market has huge potential. However, it is highly distributed and highly individualized. The lesson ofthe Long Tail is that low demand or low sales volume Alan ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. The Design Of The Hardware The selection of the hardware is a very critical part of the hardware implementation of the project; the selector must know the pros and cons on the design of each component that is being used. The selection can lead to the failure or success of the project. Therefore, special attention is required to the selection process and it was discussed with the specialist of the electrical and mechanical engineering fields to be on safe side. The main components of the system that are used in this project are as follows: 1. Motor 2. Microcontroller 3. LEDs 4. Sensor for Synchronizing 5. Power Supply 4.1 Motor The two major classifications of the motors are AC and DC motors. Only the DC motors clearly fits our system because the AC motors are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It includes a motor controller. The function of the motor controller is to convert the DC into AC. Mechanically, these motors have simpler design than the other types of the DC motor as there is no requirement of transferring power to the spinning rotor from the outside of the motor. The position of the rotor is sensed by the control of a Hall Effect sensor or any other such device to optimize torque and regulate speed. Advantages Advantages of the Brushless DC motor are their long life, better efficiency, and high RPM with no maintenance required. Disadvantages The design of the controllers for these types of the motors is a bit more complex and they have relatively higher initial cost. These are the only disadvantages of the Brushless DC motor. 2. Brushed DC motors: The generation of the torque in the brushed DC motors is coming directly from the DC power. The internal commutation and the magnets that are stationary (magnets can be permanent or electromagnet) supply the power to the motor to generate the torque. These motors include carbon brushes to transfer the power to the rotating shaft. Advantages The cost required for a brushed DC motor is relatively low compared to other DC motors. These are highly reliable and have very simpler and basic type to control the motor. Disadvantages The major disadvantages of this type of motor include a shorter life span ... • 39. The Night The walls of the shaft violently shuddered, the ground shook, rocks tumbled and a deep rumbling sound filled my ears. The workers around me were yelling and running to safety, I ran too but I realised I had to go back and get it, I just had too. I blacked out and was awoken by Jim, he was shaking me, trying to get me back to consciousness. It felt like I was paralysed, I couldn t move or talk. I looked around in a haze, there was no one in sight, all I could feel was the agonising pain in my leg. I looked down to my leg wrapped in a jacket, covered in blood. When I finally regained function I was bombarded by Jim questioning why would you do that Robbie, why would you run into danger? , I just stared blankly in response. We are stuck in here, the rest got out, why would you go back? he asked angrily. I replied with I had to get this while looking down to the small ratty teddy bear I held in the calloused palm of my hand. The day my sweet daughter gifted me with that bear will forever be embedded in my memory. It all started on a cloudy day in May, I walked up the path to my home surrounded by limp and lifeless tulips and could not help but smirk at our resemblance. I had been out of work for seven months, applying for hundreds of jobs, yet to be successful. I was depressed and angry that I was not able to help my family, we were struggling and I was the root of the cause. I lumbered through the front door only to be greeted by Ava, my beautiful six year old daughter, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
