Emergency Operations Plan
Introduction
Historically, the United States has been one of the few Western societies to be secluded from major
international conflict within domestic borders. As terrorism, a problem that seems to be borderless,
natural disasters, and unconventional warfare continue to rise the citizens of the United States have
begun to see its effects firsthand. This devastation has prompted a change in management of incidents
that is affecting the traditional roles that agencies play in response efforts to mitigate the situation.
Agencies with major responsibilities to disaster response have begun to examine other Democratic
Western Countries to discuss, as well as collaborate on possible improvements. One country that

There are 15 ESFs focused in areas such as Transportation, Communications, Public Works and

the National Guard, which is the first line of the military response to most incidents 7 or domestic
assistance needs, can participate in law enforcing activities. The Army and the Air Force are the only
military branches that have a National Guard component, consisting of part time force where

The Pros And Cons Of Misfolded Protein
Introduction
The central dogma of molecular biology conveys the idea that genetic information passes from DNA
to RNA before culminating in protein synthesis (Bandyra Luisi, 2015). In essence, our genetic
information is mainly used to code for specific proteins. There are 20 amino acids that can be bonded
together in many different orders to form a number in excess of 10 million proteins across all
biological organisms (Innovateus, 2015). Proteins have many different uses and functions, as well as
modifications. Examples of these differences include glycoproteins with carbohydrates attached to be
used in the cell membrane and phosphorylated serine molecules that act as metabolites. For the protein
to be able to carry out its specific function, it must fold in the correct way. A precise path must be
followed to allow the correct shape to be formed and if there is an error in this process, the misfolded
protein could lead to dangerous diseases forming.
The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The point of using this molecule is to reduce the risk of proteins folding into non functioning shapes
and aggregating (Saibil, 2006). Protein aggregation is the accumulation of misfolded proteins and they
can form insoluble plaques known as amyloids. The pathway to aggregation is, perhaps; an alternative
to the innate pathway and that the aggregation pathway favours interactions within the molecules
rather than between them (Stefani, 2004). There are specific and non specific forms of chaperones and
it is thought that their existence was a product of evolution. Therefore, protein misfolding is likely to
have been a prominent feature of life, encouraging the eventual production of quality control
molecules. A mutation to the chaperones can render them obsolete and in some cases they are not
present at all. Some diseases are caused by a mutation to the chaperone or an absence of the protein
altogether (Reynaud,

The Benefits Of Cheating Professional Hearthstone
Hearthstone, by it s very nature, is a game of random chance. From the mulligan phase, to the
topdecking, to the effects of the cards themselves. A large part of why professional Hearthstone
players stand out from the rest of us, is that they are able to maximize their chances of coming out on
top by making the best possible choice in a bad situation. However, sometimes this choice is taken out
of their hands due to the card the Random Number Generator (RNG) decides to bestow upon either
the player, or their opponent. Join me, as we take a look at a possible solution to this problem that can
sometimes cheat pro players out of their rightly deserved winnings. In the past, tournament organizers

The Labyrinth Materialism
Enter text here. The Labyrinth, directed by Jim Henson is a coming of age story and showcases a
metaphor for the journey of growing up. Our protagonist, Sarah, takes a mental, emotional and
physical journey which symbolises her transformation from adolescence into adulthood. Through this
film we learn alongside Sarah about the conflicts one faces when maturity creeps up on them, these
conflicts being prevalent in young people s lives. The film explores the ideas of selfishness and self
absorption in relation to Sarah s immaturity versus self awareness and knowledge, finding comfort in
materialism and its damaging properties, as well as Sarah reaching maturity and sexuality. As Sarah
journeys through the labyrinth, she is thrown into decision making and responsibility as she finds her
way toward womanhood.Sarah s fantasy of the Labyrinth ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, Sarah smashes the mirror, which shows us she is ready to grow up and be mature as she is
beginning to understand the world doesn t revolve around her as well as the fact that her decisions
affect other people as well as herself.Another prevalent motif in the labyrinth is that of materialism.
We see examples of this materialism throughout the film, however, it is most obvious in three scenes.
The first time we are presented with this idea of materialism is near the beginning of the film when
Sarah s teddy bear, Lancelot, has been taken from her room, this creates a catalyst for the kidnapping
of baby Toby by the hands of the goblin king. Later on in the film, we are re introduced to Lancelot in
the scene set in the city of junk. Sarah receives Lancelot from the bag lady as she says That s what you
were looking for, wasn t it, my dear. This dialogue, along with the other aspects of the scene such as
colour and lighting indicate that this scene is focused towards distraction from reality as well as

Persuasive Essay About Winter Time
The greatest time of the year is the winter. Winter is a time to have fun in the snow and cherish your
loved ones. In winter there are a lot of great things that can happen such as Christmas, the winter
solstice, and New Year s Eve. In the winter it gets cold enough for the miracle of crystalline water ice
otherwise known as snow. When snow falls in cold enough temperatures it will create mounds, also in
this cold temperature lakes will start to freeze over. When this happens kids can go sledding, they can
also enjoy the snow by having a good old fashioned snowball fight. Kids can also go to lakes that are
solid enough and play hockey or ice skate around with their friends. For some people low on cash the
winter is a time to get in some work.

Schindler s List tells the true story of Oskar Schindler a business man that tried to make a fortune
during World War II by exploiting cheap Jewish labour to run his pots and pan factory. Oskar ended
up penniless having saved 1,200 Polish Jews from certain death in concentration camps.
The beginning of the movie starts with a set of hands lighting Jewish Sabbath candles, with a someone
saying Hebrew prayer in the background. After the candles blow out the movie turns black and white
and your are taken to a place where a steam engine has just pulled up. A hand full of people set up
little wooden tables with chairs where jews would come and register. After this scene we finally meet
Oskar Schindler where we see his expensive possessions, such as a watch, cuff links, and a Nazi Party
pin, he takes a large sum of money from his dresser and leaves off to a club. Schindler was a very
greedy man and wanted to be as high ranked as he could so he sent a drink to a table where high
ranked officials in the Nazi party were chatting. Soon everyone from that table is partying with
Schindler and he buys them all expensive food and wine. At the end of the night Schindler takes
pictures with the group.
The next day in Krakow Schindler seeks out his accountant Itzhak Stern, to tell him he wants to make
investments in the Jews. So that they can run a enamelware factory. Since Jews, can not own a cash

Essay On Demand Of Money
Expected Cost =iM+ρ(M,σ)q. [6]
The optimal number of withdrawals for precautionary purposes is achieved when the marginal benefit
from the increased liquidity is equal to the marginal cost of an individual. Evidently, the optimal
amount of precautionary balance will be linked to the rate of interest because of the relationship
between the marginal cost of withdrawal and interest forgone, i, as shown in the Figure 2 . Ultimately
the link is established by the suggestion that lowered precautionary demand for money is as a result a
higher rate of interest and greater marginal cost of the withdrawal. This model still does not factor in
wealth as motive for the demand of money.
The underlying ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Accordingly, the expected selling price is dependent on the expected interest rate, that is p_e^B=A⁄i_e
. Consequently, the expected capital gain or loss, G, is potentially
G=((p_e^B p^B)/p^B )= (A/i_e A/i)/(A/i)= A/i_e .i/A 1=i/i_e 1. [7] The total earnings on a bond,
characterized by E, will be the interest rate at the time of purchase plus the capital gain (or less the
capital loss) in the form of
E=i+G. [8]
At this point the explicit demand for money balances can be derived. Additionally, this is illustrated by
the set of diagrams in Figure {1}. In which interest rate, i_1, equilibrium is at point E1. Whilst at the
lower interest rate, i_2, equilibrium is E2, where the demand for money rises from M1 to M2. The
speculative demand for money can be derived, a downward sloping curve, showing an inverse
relationship between money balances and the various rates of interest illustrated below:
Figure {1}: The Demand for Money
The conclusion to be drawn is that all the three motives for demanding money demonstrate positive
relationship to real income and inversely linked to the rate of interest. The equation that utilises this
notion is as follows:

Avant-Galsch Art Expressionism
During the nineteen forties and fifties, the art economy in America exploded after several of the artists
that previously lived in Europe flooded into New York because of the immense damage in Europe
from the second world war.
The most influential Art Critic of the 20th century, Clement Greenburg argued that art with any sort of
illusionistic representation or reference was regressive art because it gives an audience the answers
right away and lacks authenticity. Any work that had a connection to popular culture, that everyone
understood, and was inherently enjoyed was called kitsch . Kistchy art was also a threat to Greenburg
and other critics because it could easily be used to control the masses. Any government or authority is
able to pluck out any iconography that a society is fond of, and use it to control the them with slanted
political messages.
Avant Garde art asks questions that people can t answer right away, and Greensburg states that an if
audience has to think about the meaning then art is kept alive. In his essay Avant Garde and Kitsch
(1939), Greenburg states that painting should be a sensuous experience about paint on canvas, color
relationships and texture. Abstract Expressionism would be the first Avant Guarde movement to
emerge out of North America. This movement was about gestural paint strokes, and artists realizing
physic depth of the unconscious mind. Greensburg was a huge advocate for this movement, but as art

Brother Stories from the Holy Bible Essay
When I was younger my brothers and I would fight over the attention and gratitude of my parents.
From reading the Stories of brothers in the Bible I have discovered that brothers have been fighting
ever since the beginning of time. Through the stories of Cain and Abel, and Jacob and Esau I have
determined that Brothers stories are one of childhood ignorance and desire to obtain everything. Once
adolescence has turned to adulthood, brothers seem to reform there ways toward each other due to the
realization that you don t need to have everything to obtain happiness.
In book 4 of the Bible the first brother story takes place. It is one of deceit and competition over
receiving better blessings from God. This is the story of Cain and ... Show more content on

He also bore a mark that nobody who came in contact with him would kill him. This signifies that as
people are young they will make mistakes and by just punishment will realize that they were wrong.
Cain now had a lifetime to think about his murder.
Another brother story in the Bible is that of Esau and Jacob. The prophecy of these brothers was that
the younger would rule the elder. Esau was a hairy man that was skillful in the hunter gatherer ways
and Jacob was somewhat of a mamas boy . One day while their father Isaac was dying he told Esau
that he would bless him. Jacob then deceitfully went into the place of his father and was blessed as if
he was Esau. When Esau returned he was very upset and was going to kill his brother. Jacob fled and
was out of touch with his brother for a long time. Then Jacob sent word to meet his brother again and
heard that Esau followed by 400 men were coming to him. Afraid and distressed about what Esau
might do, Jacob had a dream in which he wrestled with God and was there blessed. With the new
name of Israel he met his brother Esau and gave him many gifts. Esau came to his bother in open arms
not needing any gifts because the only gift he wanted was to see his brother. Again united Esau and
Israel showed that being brothers was more important than any childhood feud.
These stories show that something about brothers during adolescence make them more susceptible to

Essay on Personal Narrative- Soccer State Championship
Personal Narrative Soccer State Championship
On February 28, 2005, I experienced one of the most exciting events that anyone could ever
experience winning a State Championship. The day my soccer team made history is a day I ll never
forget. However it is not just that day we won the title, but the whole experience of the preceding
season that got us there. From start to finish, my team s 2004 2005 season taught me that the platitude
is true. You can do anything you set your mind to.
From before day one, all our minds were set. This was the year to win a State Championship. I can t
exactly explain it, but right from the start I knew we were going to do it. I was never so sure about
anything in my life and I never doubted it once. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As Christmas break approached, the team faced what was going to be our biggest challenge of all. Due
to his new job, our coach now took the title of assistant and we were given a new head coach. The
coaches were, and are, good friends, but have totally different coaching styles. The first was laid back
and carefree with a great sense of humor, which made him well liked by everyone he coached. The
new coach had a reputation for being arrogant, strict, and having a no tolerance policy when it comes
to joking around. Because of this perspective some girls held of our new coach, many were upset with
the change. After we attended a tournament over the break, however, the girls realized that they had
been wrong about the coach and he was just what we needed to help us achieve our goal.
Unfortunately we still had tension among players. It even got as far as one player taking the ball from
another on the field in the middle of the game. As the season progressed, this problem practically
solved itself as we bonded at practices, pre game get togethers, and voluntarily spending time together
on weekends. We grew from barely tolerating each other to being such a tight knit group that even
schoolmates noticed.
With the Christmas tournament aside, we entered the post season without a loss. We had a plan for
each playoff game from districts to regional. We never deviated from the plan, keeping our eye on the
target

Ford Pinto Case Study Essay

Pinto Case Study
February 6, 2012
1. Put yourself in the role of the recall coordinator for Ford Motor CO. It s 1973, and field reports
have been coming in about rear end collisions, fires, and fatalities. You must decide whether to recall
the automobile.
A. Identify the relevant facts.
In August of 1978 three teenage girls were driving a Ford Pinto and were struck from behind. The
three girls died because the Ford Pinto s fuel tank ruptured from the collision and burst into flames.
There was a big debate about the safety of the Ford Pinto to its proneness to its fuel tank catching on
fire in low speed rear end ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ford convinced NHTSA that cost/benefit analysis would be appropriate for determining not to change
the fuel tank. The costs were eleven dollars per fuel tank to change which ended up equaling 137.5
million dollars. This number is very large and much bigger than the benefit if they would have not
changed it, which was 49.5 million dollars.
B. Identify the pertinent ethical issues and points of ethical conflict.
All of the relevant facts discussed above lead to many ethical issues. Ford was aware of the problem
with the gas tank leaking and could have changed it before others died from their mistakes. Putting a
price value on a life to beat the Japanese in the small car market is unethical. Safety should be a
company s number one priority, not beating the completion. There was a legal issue of NHTSA and
Ford. Ford was aware that the fuel tanks were not working correctly but did nothing to change it
because the NHTSA, at the time, had no laws against it.
C. Identify the relevant affected parties.
a. Customers (Ford s victims)
b. Drivers of Pinto
c. Ford Employees
d. Manufactures of Ford
e. Suppliers of Ford
f. Dealers of Ford
g. Stockholders
h. NHTSA
The customers (drivers of Ford) are the number one stakeholders that lost the most. They might not
have lost much money or reputations, but they lost the one thing that you can never get back, their life.

A Brief Look at the Philosophy of Descartes Essay
When Descartes created the Method of Doubt his main mission was to develop a method that would
bring him to the real truth. It was important that his initial beliefs were absolute. If any of them were
in doubt, then it put the entire structure of knowledge at risk. Thus, Descartes developed a method to
get rid of those beliefs of which he could not be completely being confident in them. This process is
called the Method of Doubt. The first action to do while using the Method of Doubt is using the
skeptical Method of Doubt. Then one must use the optimistic phase where one can restore the
arrangement of knowledge based upon the truths that remained after taking these steps of his Method
of Doubt. The main question with Descartes s method ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It s such a long period of time we do not remember what was going on through the mind. Descartes
then mentions maybe we were not even thinking at all. His goal is to discovery a footing on which all
other knowledge can be collected. He agrees with Plato that knowledge needs to have certainty. But,
then again, disagrees with the fact that the real world is not knowable. Descartes questions to stop
thinking are to no longer exist? Descartes would state that even though we may not recall what we
were dreaming, we were definitely having something going on throughout our thoughts. Throughout
our life there are many things we cannot look back on because we do not remember what we were
thinking at that time. It is possible that being woken in the middle of the night by a loud noise and be
right in the middle of a crazy thought and still we might not remember a thing. Even though we cannot
remember any thought before we wake, we know that there was because we heard the noise and woke
up. If we look back on our past there are times we do not remember. For example, we do not
remember being born or events that occurred while we were infants but that does not mean that we
were not thinking at that time. One can assume that thinking means that there is a physical being but
Descartes was still not so certain

Putting a Stop to Smoking
It is shocking to know that there are about ten people who die from smoking every single minute, and
nobody seems to have any idea about it. Indeed, there is a growing gap between the real world and the
academy since people are more intellectual about things that are irrelevant to the real life and are
ignorant of things that are imperative to live in the real world (Orr 310). Did you know that there are
over four hundred thousand deaths caused by cigarettes and tobacco each year in the U.S. alone? That
makes it about five million deaths worldwide each year, according to Statistics about Smoking.

They should be able to help teens learn the ugly truth about tobacco, know what goes in a cigarette,
and also say No! to smoking. While peer pressure is accountable for provoking teenagers to smoke
just for the sake of it, advertisement is more responsible for initiating young adults to just puff their
lives away for acceptance. According to Martin, about eighty percent of American advertising
executives believe that advertising is very effective because it makes smoking more appealing and
socially acceptable to children. The tobacco industry is making billions and billions while hundreds of
thousand are getting hooked on tobacco through the use of advertisements and media ploys.
Advertising is by far the most effective and prominent way tobacco companies use to induce young
adults. To successfully combat smoking or to eliminate tobacco companies altogether, hopefully
sometime soon in the future, an ideal student must learn to recognize and to resist the many elements
tobacco companies use in advertisement to hook young adults. One of the elements that often appears
in the media is the association of young, attractive individuals with cigarettes to convey to the youth
that smoking is appealing. This method works very well because many think that smoking enhances
their self image and attracts other. The ideal student should be able to recognize that ads are deceiving

Shinto s Role In Creatio Creation Mythology
Shinto is the indigenous religion of Japan. It can best be described as a structured system of animism.
The word Shinto comes from Chinese characters (shen and tao), meaning divine being and the way
respectively. Therefore the total meaning of Shinto is The Way of the Divine Beings/Spirits. (British
Broadcasting Corporation, 2011) It is unclear when the Shinto belief came about, but it most likely has
its earliest roots in animism. These animistic beliefs were expressed in the form of spirits called kami.
The kami are beings that are present in all aspects of nature and consist of major deities, ancestor
spirits, and minor spirits who have significance in a specific community. (Wilkinson, 2012, p. 263)
Several of these kami have had extreme importance in Japanese creation mythology and Shinto belief.

The Capital Budget For The Hospital Wing Renovation
Monies to renovate the hospital wing will come from a capital budget which will include the
demolition and reconstruction of the existing structure without changing the footprint. Equipment and
furnishings needed for the unit will also come from the capital budget. The hospital may apply for
grants or run a fundraising campaign through the hospital foundation to assist with the costs of the
project. A fundamental concept integral to business planning is the time value of money. A dollar
today is worth more than a dollar in the future (McKay Peters, 2013, p. 107). McKay Peters go on to
state that Whatever money a project generates over time must take into account that the value of the
dollar is falling (2013, p. 107). The capital budget for the hospital wing renovation is an estimate of
1,500,000 dollars. This number is derived from comparing similar projects and then determining a
reasonable budget for the project planned. One such similar project at Clarke County Hospital in
Osceola, Iowa had a budget of 2,200,000 for a 10,000 sq. feet renovation of nine patient rooms. This
renovation included replacing an elevator, a pharmacy remodel, and a mechanical penthouse with a

Postmodernism Has Changed The Representation Of Women
This literature review will explore how and to what extent postmodernism has changed the
representation of women in images. Postmodernism was a time period after modernism, being at the
centre of culture. What is to be regarded as postmodern, those things that are seen to occur as natural
are in fact shaped by humans, thus making it cultural. Postmodernism was brought as a result from the
1960 s onwards, being a reaction against anti realism modernism. Feminist artists and theorists have
combined postmodernism with their own work in order to bring forth the ideas surrounding that of,
how cultural forms or representation within the mass media are based around particular ideologies.
When referring to representation, when linking this with the works of the theories brought about by
postmodernism, how we see ourselves and how we construct the notions of ourselves are through the
structure of available images. Feminist theory points to how the construction of gender is an effect of
representation. The representation of women in images during the postmodern era, could merit further
investigation in order to inform of how women from all over the world have been represented,
whether it be regarding their race, nationality, age or sexuality. Using a variety of texts, the main
debates regarding this topic will be explored through critiquing selected theorists in order to develop
upon my own research. The following academic writings will be referenced: Weedon (1987),

Harry Potter Prisoner Of Azkaban Themes
Major themes in the series Harry Potter are constantly changing throughout the books, and Rowling
does an excellent job of making each blend into the story. In the book, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of
Azkaban, Rowling starts to explore some more unnerving themes such as the gray area between good
and evil. She uses themes in this book to catapult the series from just being another set of kids books,
to a work of art that goes to include ideas of everyday life. Rowling places Harry deep in the center of
a conspiracy between two sides and goes the whole book not knowing the truth until the end. In

For most of the first part of the book Rowling has us believing that Sirius Black is bad and is trying to
kill Harry. Rowling does a really good job at re directing the reader s hate towards Black so that she
can blindside them later. This allows Rowling some wiggle room to let her explore more of Harry s
past and how the wizarding world acts. Nearly all of the wizarding world is afraid of Black, but that is
only because they have been fed false information. The knowledge that Black isn t as bad as everyone
says he is comes about in the seventeenth chapter of the book, when Black and our heroes meet face to
face. Rowling doesn t allow Harry to accept that Peter Pettigrew is actually the one that got his parents
killed. Of course Harry doesn t want to believe this as he have just spent the entire year in fear of
Black coming to kill him. Now he is there and is telling Harry not to believe what everyone is saying.

Fictive Fragments Of A Father And Son Analysis
David Mura s Fictive Fragments of a Father and Son focuses on Mura discovering his cultural identity
through his father s past lifestyle. As he analyzes his father s past, he comes to realize his father stories
are possibly fictional, but have an inner meaning regardless. Mura comprehends how his father s
stories focus on the idea of freedom and balancing dual cultures. While placed in camps at an
adolescent age, Mura s father had to learn various types of American ideals including cultural
activities, celebrations, and traditions. One saying that always stuck with the father is a teacher stating,

mostly focused on what it takes to feel ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many elements persuaded non natives to gradually feel welcome, but it overall led for them to change
their idea of what being part of America really symbolized. For instance, the father told Mura that he
had played baseball in the camps since the very beginning. With baseball being originated from the
United States, it immediately became stamped as an American sport because it highlights their
strength, masculinity, and ideals of a modern society. By the camp offering a game such as baseball, it
establishes the labels the camp wanted to implement into non natives in hopes of them to feel more
comfortable within society. Another example worth mentioning is participating in the city s post war
celebrations. After the war ended, the father identifies how the community was celebrating the end of
a war. The celebration involved confetti, firecrackers, men sweeping women off their feet, and lastly,
music. Notably, the song emphasized in the celebration was called Stars and Stripes Forever. A high
school band was playing this song loud and proud to demonstrate their patriotic dedication. The
instrumental symbolizes the American flag and beliefs of the American traditions. After distinguishing

Rich Man Toys Research Paper
Rich Mans Toys Review
Genesis Gaming launched nearly a decade ago, but in that time it hasn t really been able to dent the
online slots market. The developer has pretty much spent the best part of 10 years floating under the
radar, but considering how quickly the production line has been churning out tiles as of late, they are
now making a play to improve market position. Focusing on delivering something a little more
highbrow, the latest game from Genesis Gaming comes in the form of Rich Mans Toys.
Rich Mans Toys is a game that is as obvious as you are ever going to get with a slot game name. Super
yachts, big cash, and plenty of champagne are the calls of the day here, but does high end imagery
alone make this game worth playing? The following ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Whenever you are playing the game, no bonus round means that you always have this feeling that you
are spinning the reels with the handbrake on.
Looking at what bonus features are included in the game, it s a case of the classics, as both wild
symbols and free spins are in effect. The luxury home is the scatter here, with it needing to appear 2,
3, or 4 times to grab some free spins. The wild is the popping champagne icon, with it working the
exact same way as it does in other Genesis Gaming titles.
All effort, little reward
Rich Mans Toys has another drawback with its controls, as the game is cumbersome to navigate even
at the best of times. We don t quite understand why Genesis Gaming continues to push forward with
the multi screen control panel approach when it clearly doesn t work.
Slowing the gameplay process down, we can only wonder what game Rich Mans Toys might have
been if it had a streamlined control panel.

It is thus, not concerned with idealization with rendering things as beautiful when they are not, or in
any way presenting them in any guise as they are not; nor, as a rule, is realism concerned with
presenting the supra normal or transcendental Though, of course, the writings of Richard Rolle of
Hampole, for example, or the mystical poems of St. John of the Cross, are realistic enough if we
believe in God and the spiritual order. The writing of the mystic and the visionary perhaps belongs to a
rather special category which might be called Super reality; on the whole one tends to think of realism
in terms of the everyday, the normal, the pragmatic, more crudely, it suggests jackers off, sleeves
rolled up, a no nonsense approach. The term realism in 20th century trends and movements can be
better understood as, a mode of writing that gives the impression of recording or reflecting faithfully
an actual way of life (Oxford Concise Dictionary of Literary Terms). The term, sometimes

The Golden Glove Short Story
The Golden Glove
I thought that everything had been a dream until I heard it... Practice! It was an extremely rainy day
and the ground was like stepping into tiny lakes. I was caught up in the moment when I remembered
that you need a glove to play baseball. I knew that rain could ruin your glove but I couldn t get the
sight of a perfectly stitched, woven, and laced glove being destroyed.
On the long drive to practice I watched as the enormous drops of rain were impeded by the windshield
and wiped away. My teammates were in the back of the car cracking jokes and singing to whatever
was on the radio. The drive went quick and when we arrived my mom exclaimed, Have fun at
practice!
Thanks! I muttered back.
While tying my cleats, I grabbed some ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I did not want my glove to get any more wet than it already was. I stuffed my glove in my bag and
couldn t get it off my mind the whole ride home.
When I got home my sister asked me, How was practice?
I replied, Wet! But fun. My glove is ruined.
She answered back, There s nothing that would have ruined it. We just need to hang it up so it can air
dry.
Okay, I replied.
She walked down the stairs and into the laundry room, myself just a couple steps behind her. She
walked into the laundry room and snatched my glove out of my hands. As I watched her hang it she
was quiet and then left the room and went back upstairs.
I rearranged my baseball bag and left it outside in the garage. I came in the house a couple of times to
make sure that my glove was still in the laundry room. My baseball glove was slowly changing colors
back into a maroon. It dried for a couple days and the time went by slower than a turtle trying to run a
race.
When the glove was finally dry I oiled it and tightened up the laces. My baseball glove ended up being
okay. I was delighted when my glove still fit because I thought that it would shrink. I am very
protective over my glove and that is probably why I still use it

Death of General Wolfe Essay
Analysis of The Death of General Wolfe by Benjamin West
In 1770, artist Benjamin Wolfe completed what would become his most controversial and talked about
piece of artwork, an oil on canvas painting titled The Death of General Wolfe, the purpose of which
was to teach a moral lesson. The Death of General Wolfe portrays the Battle of Quebec, but more
specifically it details the moment when Major General James Wolfe was on his deathbed shortly after
the British had driven the French away in victory. Although this piece is considered to be historical
since it details a true event, the details in it prove to be fabricated for the sake of art. Benjamin West

The fact that the clouds are passing by and opening can represent two things. The first is that it can be
a symbol of General Wolfe, and as the clouds pass over head, his soul will similarly pass over and die.
Second is that the passing clouds can be viewed as a sign of hope that the battle is now over and
people can live peacefully. One other piece of symbolism is the flag behind General Wolfe, which
serves as a directional force. Since it is pointed at both General Wolfe and the sky, it signifies the fact
that Wolfe s soul will go up onto Heaven. The colors in this piece are instrumental in moving the eye
across the piece and drawing attention to specific parts of the piece. For instance, for the most part, the
colors that are used are dark. However, to emphasize General Wolfe, the focal point in the middle, his
outfit is painted in a brighter red and yellow and the ground beneath him is light as well. Also, in order
to allow the eye to glide across the painting almost all of the soldier s uniforms are red, creating
rhythm. One solider, who is apparently rushing into see Wolfe, is painted in green, which is the
complimentary color to red. The use of complimentary colors brings the eyes attention to the panicked
solider, emphasizing the overall sense of urgency in the piece. The piece is also well balanced and
uses appropriate scales and proportions. Overall I think West was successful in his piece. I admire the

Romeo And Juliet s Death Essay
Romeo and Juliet is a story that takes place in a small town in Italy named Verona. In this story,
Romeo and Juliet s families constantly fight with each other. Romeo accidentally gets invited to a
Capulet party and attends it in hopes of seeing his love, Rosaline. Instead, Romeo goes and spots
Juliet and forgets about Rosaline and falls in love with how beautiful Juliet was. I believe fate is what
caused Romeo and Juliet s death. I believe this because it was fate the way Romeo was drawn to
Juliet, it was fate how they fell in love on rival sides of the family, and it was fate that Romeo got
invited to that party. First, I think it was fate that caused Romeo and Juliet s death because of the way
Romeo was drawn to Juliet the first time he saw her. I think this because the story states, Beauty too

Computers Field, Desktop And Server
The technology keeps growing and advancing on every single aspect on the computers field, desktop
and server cannot be the exception, a very specific case is the system virtualization. The creating of a
virtual version of a device or resource makes virtualization a great tool for network engineers and
system administrators on the daily managing configuration, testing and creating of systems. As a first
look is inarguable the advantages that can come with the virtualization of system environments, but
has virtualization overcome regular computer using? Is it reliable? It is cost effective? What are the
advantages and disadvantages?
The idea of virtualizing all the system on a network environment sound like a good alternative, in fact
there is more systems administrator that prefer a virtual environment that to a normal multicomputer.
The advantages of virtualization are for example, cost savings because the organization don t have to
buy as much software, and software test before implementation. In contrast there are disadvantages
like well qualified IT personnel and reliability due to have all your eggs in one basket
From my perspective, comparison between multicomputers and virtualized systems can change
according the skills of the system administrator, although multicomputers is still a validate practice in
many environments there is no doubt virtualization is the best way to administrate an organization
from rehabilitee to cost effective.
The new era of systems

Yet in another recent study by Duzkaya et al. (2016), the CHG dressings were compared with the
standard dressings using level II evidence in a RCT study. The study sample included 100 patients for
a total of 100 CVCs in one pediatric ICU of a university hospital in Istanbul, Turkey. The study
findings considered CHG dressings effective in prevention of CRBSIs where the rate of infection was
2% versus 10% in the standard dressings (Duzkaya et al., 2016). One study, however, did not find a
statistical significant difference while comparing the CHG dressings with gauze and tape dressings for
prevention of CRBSIs. Using level II evidence, Pedrolo et al. (2014) conducted a RCT study that

The evidence of the studies is very crucial and justifies the need to incorporate the proposed
intervention (using the CHG dressing) in the project. Purpose of the Study Extensive evidence based
research on interventions to reduce the risk of CLABSIs have shown a substantial decrease in the rate
of CLABSIs. One of the recommended guideline is the use of CHG dressings for coverage of the
CVC insertion site. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the CHG dressings
compared to the standard dressings in preventing the rate of CLABSIs. The CHG dressings will be the
study experimental intervention while the standard dressings will be in the control group. Theoretical

it addresses five phases that are necessary for the change to be adopted in the system (Stetler, 2001).
The first phase is preparation and it involves isolating and affirming a need, identifying where the
need will be applied, and conducting a comprehensive search for evidence based research regarding
that need. The second phase is validation where the researched evidence is systematically critiqued

in Post Soviet Georgia The Georgian story is one of remarkable success and progress in the modern,

from domestic unrest and external aggression greatly influences the national character of the Georgian

These unremarkable rulers did not devote much attention to Georgian internal affairs, instead
concentrating on the military campaigns against one another. Georgia finally came under Russian
suzerainty in 1783 when the Persian king Erekle II, compelled by economic difficulties, signed the
Treaty of Georgievsk with Catherine II. The agreement guaranteed autonomy, protection, and
territorial integrity in return for becoming a Russian vassal. Nevertheless, the Russians under
Alexander I, reneged on the treaty, deposing the Persian royalty and installing military governors in
their stead. Though, the arrival of the Russians could not wholly reverse centuries of history, as long
term rule by Mongols, Ottomans, and Persians has made a lasting impact in establishing a permanent

What the Tsarist administration did herald was a more direct form of governance and its related

The Islamic State Of Iraq And Syria
Introduction In what has quickly evolved into a post Al Qaeda era in the Middle East, a new threat has
emerged from the ashes of the 2003 invasion of Iraq and later in the 2011 war in Syria. The Islamic
State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS, ISIL or Daesh) has rapidly become the most pressing foreign policy
concern in the Middle East for the United States. In the last four years, Daesh has gathered swaths of
territory in both Iraq and Syria, although it has been driven back thanks to coalition efforts to counter
the group. The coalition in place to combat ISIS has allowed the US to take a supporting role through
the use of airstrikes, military advising and intelligence sharing to the local forces on the ground.
However, major shortcomings ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With divisions becoming prevalent regarding the modus operandi for AQI, Abu Omar al Baghdadi
broke off from the group to form the Islamic State of Iraq (ISI). (Hashim 2014) While both the ISI and
AQI had similar interests in combating foreign intervention and developing an Islamic caliphate in the
region, the two groups sought two different means of achieving it. In Iraq in particular, Daesh was
bolstered by a new interim Iraqi government that was particularly repressive towards the Sunni
majority, which in turn drove disillusioned Sunnis towards the extremist group. Ultimately, ISI would
expand into Syria in 2010 and splinter off from the Al Qaeda affiliated group Al Nusra, forming the
Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. Since then it has expanded into parts of Jordan and Libya as well.
Current Strategy In the latest edition of the National Security Strategy, President Obama outlined his
primary objective in dealing with the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. We [The US partners] are

Lao Tzu Thoughts From The Tao-Te Ching Summary
A Non Government Mariah Parvizi 7/16/2015 In Thoughts from the Tao te Ching, Lao Tzu illustrates
the optimal way in which a ruler should lead their country in conformity with the Tao. Lao Tzu points
out that a nation s government should put in place the slightest governance in the lives of its people,
because the good in people will come naturally when the people disregard their efforts to seek these
ethics. Finally, Lao Tzu also encourages that a leader be modest and tolerant by truly taking interest in
the civilians needs and concentrating on his home land instead of seeking issues with other worldly
places. If applied, Lao Tzu s image of a government that does not overuse it s power is only

This idea has been referred to as the wishful thinking fallacy. In addition to being a mental favoritism
and a poor method to making decisions, wishful thinking is commonly held to be paradox in an
argument when it is expected that because someone wishes something to be true or false, it is actually
true or false. People cannot be this compliant in their journey through life, people crave desires for
motivation to actively reach for goals. Two kinds of motivation defined in psychology are extrinsic
and intrinsic reinforcers. Extrinsic provides external rewards through other people or objects, while
intrinsic rewards are intangible and commonly contribute a feeling of achievement in simply finishing
the act. Lao Tzu primarily brings attention to losing extrinsic wants, such as power, possessions and
other s endorsement. Nonetheless, Loa Tzu also partially encourages disregarding intrinsic desires for
self enhancement, for example in this statement: when the body s intelligence declines, cleverness and
knowledge step forth . Here he conveys that when people abandon their want to become more
intelligent and stop striving to understand and learn, consequently they will naturally become smarter.

Performance Management And Performance Appraisal
1. Introduction
1.1. Performance management and performance appraisal
The definition of the term performance management varies in different literatures. As
Hutchinson(2013) summed up, combined with Den Harton s theory(2004), it is a continuous process
which links individual and team objectives with organizational goals by measure and improve
employee s skill and performance. According to Armstrong (2012), human resource management aims
at making sure the organization has the most talented, skilled and engaged people in order to attain its
goals. In this context, performance management is one staple practice helping managers identifying
and retaining most competent employees as well as correcting poor performance.
In a typical and effective process of performance management, as demonstrated in Figure 2.1,
performance appraisal is not the only but a vital element because it is the activity which evaluate the
outcome of the work, recognize the achievement and weaknesses and give employees and managers a
straightforward result on these(Armstrong, 2009, Hutchinson, 2013). From a modern perspective,
performance appraisal covers more areas not only on what have been achieved but also on the attitude
and contribution of the operator (Hutchinson, 2013), which enhance the functions of identifying
training needs.

I remember the struggles I went through at the beginning of the season. I only had 4 hits in 10 games.
I worked on my leg lift, my load, everything I could think of until something worked. Then,
something clicked. I was reading a book on common problems hitters have and I realized I wasn t

All those hours of labor in the cage paid off. I started to hit again. Since then, I have collected a .435

  • 2. Emergency Operations Plan Introduction Historically, the United States has been one of the few Western societies to be secluded from major international conflict within domestic borders. As terrorism, a problem that seems to be borderless, natural disasters, and unconventional warfare continue to rise the citizens of the United States have begun to see its effects firsthand. This devastation has prompted a change in management of incidents that is affecting the traditional roles that agencies play in response efforts to mitigate the situation. Agencies with major responsibilities to disaster response have begun to examine other Democratic Western Countries to discuss, as well as collaborate on possible improvements. One country that departments are creating collaborative ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This request would assign the military resources to a specific Emergency Support Function (ESF). There are 15 ESFs focused in areas such as Transportation, Communications, Public Works and Engineering, Firefighting, Emergency Management, Mass Care, Emergency Assistance, Housing, and Human Services, just to name a few . Remembering that Active Duty resources are prohibited from enforcing civil law , military assistance to disaster response can be used in any other ESF area. Lastly, the National Guard, which is the first line of the military response to most incidents 7 or domestic assistance needs, can participate in law enforcing activities. The Army and the Air Force are the only military branches that have a National Guard component, consisting of part time force where personnel have to be called and mobilized for their tasks 7. National Guard members are not active duty military personnel, instead these members of the armed forces are regulated by Title 32 of the U.S. Code 7. Describing the Guardsmen as dual purpose personnel, another words they are both a state and federal resource. So as long as a National Guard resource is under state control, the limits are set by state law and by the authority of the governor 7. These limits do not include law enforcement prohibition, however once the National Guard asset is federalized, the requirements that apply to all other Federal military 7. The Guard is a cost effective, scalable, operational force that preserves capability and capacity, strengthening immediate disaster response ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Pros And Cons Of Misfolded Protein Introduction The central dogma of molecular biology conveys the idea that genetic information passes from DNA to RNA before culminating in protein synthesis (Bandyra Luisi, 2015). In essence, our genetic information is mainly used to code for specific proteins. There are 20 amino acids that can be bonded together in many different orders to form a number in excess of 10 million proteins across all biological organisms (Innovateus, 2015). Proteins have many different uses and functions, as well as modifications. Examples of these differences include glycoproteins with carbohydrates attached to be used in the cell membrane and phosphorylated serine molecules that act as metabolites. For the protein to be able to carry out its specific function, it must fold in the correct way. A precise path must be followed to allow the correct shape to be formed and if there is an error in this process, the misfolded protein could lead to dangerous diseases forming. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The point of using this molecule is to reduce the risk of proteins folding into non functioning shapes and aggregating (Saibil, 2006). Protein aggregation is the accumulation of misfolded proteins and they can form insoluble plaques known as amyloids. The pathway to aggregation is, perhaps; an alternative to the innate pathway and that the aggregation pathway favours interactions within the molecules rather than between them (Stefani, 2004). There are specific and non specific forms of chaperones and it is thought that their existence was a product of evolution. Therefore, protein misfolding is likely to have been a prominent feature of life, encouraging the eventual production of quality control molecules. A mutation to the chaperones can render them obsolete and in some cases they are not present at all. Some diseases are caused by a mutation to the chaperone or an absence of the protein altogether (Reynaud, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

From the mulligan phase, to the topdecking, to the effects of the cards themselves. A large part of why professional Hearthstone players stand out from the rest of us, is that they are able to maximize their chances of coming out on top by making the best possible choice in a bad situation. However, sometimes this choice is taken out of their hands due to the card the Random Number Generator (RNG) decides to bestow upon either the player, or their opponent. Join me, as we take a look at a possible solution to this problem that can sometimes cheat pro players out of their rightly deserved winnings. In the past, tournament organizers have banned certian cards that tended to snowball ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Labyrinth Materialism Enter text here. The Labyrinth, directed by Jim Henson is a coming of age story and showcases a metaphor for the journey of growing up. Our protagonist, Sarah, takes a mental, emotional and physical journey which symbolises her transformation from adolescence into adulthood. Through this film we learn alongside Sarah about the conflicts one faces when maturity creeps up on them, these conflicts being prevalent in young people s lives. The film explores the ideas of selfishness and self absorption in relation to Sarah s immaturity versus self awareness and knowledge, finding comfort in materialism and its damaging properties, as well as Sarah reaching maturity and sexuality. As Sarah journeys through the labyrinth, she is thrown into decision making and responsibility as she finds her way toward womanhood.Sarah s fantasy of the Labyrinth ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, Sarah smashes the mirror, which shows us she is ready to grow up and be mature as she is beginning to understand the world doesn t revolve around her as well as the fact that her decisions affect other people as well as herself.Another prevalent motif in the labyrinth is that of materialism. We see examples of this materialism throughout the film, however, it is most obvious in three scenes. The first time we are presented with this idea of materialism is near the beginning of the film when Sarah s teddy bear, Lancelot, has been taken from her room, this creates a catalyst for the kidnapping of baby Toby by the hands of the goblin king. Later on in the film, we are re introduced to Lancelot in the scene set in the city of junk. Sarah receives Lancelot from the bag lady as she says That s what you were looking for, wasn t it, my dear. This dialogue, along with the other aspects of the scene such as colour and lighting indicate that this scene is focused towards distraction from reality as well as ... In winter there are a lot of great things that can happen such as Christmas, the winter solstice, and New Year s Eve. In the winter it gets cold enough for the miracle of crystalline water ice otherwise known as snow. When snow falls in cold enough temperatures it will create mounds, also in this cold temperature lakes will start to freeze over. When this happens kids can go sledding, they can also enjoy the snow by having a good old fashioned snowball fight. Kids can also go to lakes that are solid enough and play hockey or ice skate around with their friends. For some people low on cash the winter is a time to get in some work. ... Ultimately the link is established by the suggestion that lowered precautionary demand for money is as a result a higher rate of interest and greater marginal cost of the withdrawal. This model still does not factor in wealth as motive for the demand of money. The underlying ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Accordingly, the expected selling price is dependent on the expected interest rate, that is p_e^B=A⁄i_e . Consequently, the expected capital gain or loss, G, is potentially G=((p_e^B p^B)/p^B )= (A/i_e A/i)/(A/i)= A/i_e .i/A 1=i/i_e 1. [7] The total earnings on a bond, characterized by E, will be the interest rate at the time of purchase plus the capital gain (or less the capital loss) in the form of E=i+G. The speculative demand for money can be derived, a downward sloping curve, showing an inverse relationship between money balances and the various rates of interest illustrated below: Figure {1}: The Demand for Money The conclusion to be drawn is that all the three motives for demanding money demonstrate positive relationship to real income and inversely linked to the rate of interest. • 9. Avant-Galsch Art Expressionism During the nineteen forties and fifties, the art economy in America exploded after several of the artists that previously lived in Europe flooded into New York because of the immense damage in Europe from the second world war. The most influential Art Critic of the 20th century, Clement Greenburg argued that art with any sort of illusionistic representation or reference was regressive art because it gives an audience the answers right away and lacks authenticity. Any work that had a connection to popular culture, that everyone understood, and was inherently enjoyed was called kitsch . Kistchy art was also a threat to Greenburg and other critics because it could easily be used to control the masses. Any government or authority is able to pluck out any iconography that a society is fond of, and use it to control the them with slanted political messages. Avant Garde art asks questions that people can t answer right away, and Greensburg states that an if audience has to think about the meaning then art is kept alive. In his essay Avant Garde and Kitsch (1939), Greenburg states that painting should be a sensuous experience about paint on canvas, color relationships and texture. Abstract Expressionism would be the first Avant Guarde movement to emerge out of North America. This movement was about gestural paint strokes, and artists realizing physic depth of the unconscious mind. Greensburg was a huge advocate for this movement, but as art bleed into everyday life ... From reading the Stories of brothers in the Bible I have discovered that brothers have been fighting ever since the beginning of time. Once adolescence has turned to adulthood, brothers seem to reform there ways toward each other due to the realization that you don t need to have everything to obtain happiness. Esau was a hairy man that was skillful in the hunter gatherer ways and Jacob was somewhat of a mamas boy . One day while their father Isaac was dying he told Esau that he would bless him. Jacob then deceitfully went into the place of his father and was blessed as if he was Esau. When Esau returned he was very upset and was going to kill his brother. Jacob fled and was out of touch with his brother for a long time. Then Jacob sent word to meet his brother again and heard that Esau followed by 400 men were coming to him. Afraid and distressed about what Esau might do, Jacob had a dream in which he wrestled with God and was there blessed. With the new name of Israel he met his brother Esau and gave him many gifts. Esau came to his bother in open arms not needing any gifts because the only gift he wanted was to see his brother. • 14. A Brief Look at the Philosophy of Descartes Essay When Descartes created the Method of Doubt his main mission was to develop a method that would bring him to the real truth. It was important that his initial beliefs were absolute. If any of them were in doubt, then it put the entire structure of knowledge at risk. Thus, Descartes developed a method to get rid of those beliefs of which he could not be completely being confident in them. This process is called the Method of Doubt. The first action to do while using the Method of Doubt is using the skeptical Method of Doubt. Then one must use the optimistic phase where one can restore the arrangement of knowledge based upon the truths that remained after taking these steps of his Method of Doubt. Descartes would state that even though we may not recall what we were dreaming, we were definitely having something going on throughout our thoughts. Throughout our life there are many things we cannot look back on because we do not remember what we were thinking at that time. It is possible that being woken in the middle of the night by a loud noise and be right in the middle of a crazy thought and still we might not remember a thing. (British Broadcasting Corporation, 2011) It is unclear when the Shinto belief came about, but it most likely has its earliest roots in animism. The Capital Budget For The Hospital Wing Renovation Monies to renovate the hospital wing will come from a capital budget which will include the demolition and reconstruction of the existing structure without changing the footprint. Equipment and furnishings needed for the unit will also come from the capital budget. The hospital may apply for grants or run a fundraising campaign through the hospital foundation to assist with the costs of the project. A fundamental concept integral to business planning is the time value of money. A dollar today is worth more than a dollar in the future (McKay Peters, 2013, p. 107). McKay Peters go on to state that Whatever money a project generates over time must take into account that the value of the dollar is falling (2013, p. 107). The capital budget for the hospital wing renovation is an estimate of 1,500,000 dollars. This number is derived from comparing similar projects and then determining a reasonable budget for the project planned. One such similar project at Clarke County Hospital in Osceola, Iowa had a budget of 2,200,000 for a 10,000 sq. feet renovation of nine patient rooms. Postmodernism was a time period after modernism, being at the centre of culture. What is to be regarded as postmodern, those things that are seen to occur as natural are in fact shaped by humans, thus making it cultural. Postmodernism was brought as a result from the 1960 s onwards, being a reaction against anti realism modernism. Feminist artists and theorists have combined postmodernism with their own work in order to bring forth the ideas surrounding that of, how cultural forms or representation within the mass media are based around particular ideologies. When referring to representation, when linking this with the works of the theories brought about by postmodernism, how we see ourselves and how we construct the notions of ourselves are through the structure of available images. Feminist theory points to how the construction of gender is an effect of representation. The representation of women in images during the postmodern era, could merit further investigation in order to inform of how women from all over the world have been represented, whether it be regarding their race, nationality, age or sexuality. Using a variety of texts, the main debates regarding this topic will be explored through critiquing selected theorists in order to develop upon my own research. By the camp offering a game such as baseball, it establishes the labels the camp wanted to implement into non natives in hopes of them to feel more comfortable within society. Another example worth mentioning is participating in the city s post war celebrations. After the war ended, the father identifies how the community was celebrating the end of a war. The celebration involved confetti, firecrackers, men sweeping women off their feet, and lastly, music. Notably, the song emphasized in the celebration was called Stars and Stripes Forever. A high school band was playing this song loud and proud to demonstrate their patriotic dedication. The instrumental symbolizes the American flag and beliefs of the American traditions. After distinguishing how society celebrated their patriotic pride, this led to the father to come to the conclusion of what the teachers were discussing on how to represent an American and it was like to be free. Ever since being in the camps, the father felt conflicted on how to implement his Japanese culture along with his American culture. • 31. Romeo And Juliet s Death Essay Romeo and Juliet is a story that takes place in a small town in Italy named Verona. In this story, Romeo and Juliet s families constantly fight with each other. Romeo accidentally gets invited to a Capulet party and attends it in hopes of seeing his love, Rosaline. Instead, Romeo goes and spots Juliet and forgets about Rosaline and falls in love with how beautiful Juliet was. I believe fate is what caused Romeo and Juliet s death. I believe this because it was fate the way Romeo was drawn to Juliet, it was fate how they fell in love on rival sides of the family, and it was fate that Romeo got invited to that party. First, I think it was fate that caused Romeo and Juliet s death because of the way Romeo was drawn to Juliet the first time he saw her. Computers Field, Desktop And Server The technology keeps growing and advancing on every single aspect on the computers field, desktop and server cannot be the exception, a very specific case is the system virtualization. The creating of a virtual version of a device or resource makes virtualization a great tool for network engineers and system administrators on the daily managing configuration, testing and creating of systems. As a first look is inarguable the advantages that can come with the virtualization of system environments, but has virtualization overcome regular computer using? Is it reliable? It is cost effective? What are the advantages and disadvantages? The idea of virtualizing all the system on a network environment sound like a good alternative, in fact there is more systems administrator that prefer a virtual environment that to a normal multicomputer. The advantages of virtualization are for example, cost savings because the organization don t have to buy as much software, and software test before implementation. In contrast there are disadvantages like well qualified IT personnel and reliability due to have all your eggs in one basket From my perspective, comparison between multicomputers and virtualized systems can change according the skills of the system administrator, although multicomputers is still a validate practice in many environments there is no doubt virtualization is the best way to administrate an organization from rehabilitee to cost effective. The study sample included 100 patients for a total of 100 CVCs in one pediatric ICU of a university hospital in Istanbul, Turkey. The study findings considered CHG dressings effective in prevention of CRBSIs where the rate of infection was 2% versus 10% in the standard dressings (Duzkaya et al., 2016). One study, however, did not find a statistical significant difference while comparing the CHG dressings with gauze and tape dressings for prevention of CRBSIs. Using level II evidence, Pedrolo et al. Georgia finally came under Russian suzerainty in 1783 when the Persian king Erekle II, compelled by economic difficulties, signed the Treaty of Georgievsk with Catherine II. The agreement guaranteed autonomy, protection, and territorial integrity in return for becoming a Russian vassal. Nevertheless, the Russians under Alexander I, reneged on the treaty, deposing the Persian royalty and installing military governors in their stead. Though, the arrival of the Russians could not wholly reverse centuries of history, as long term rule by Mongols, Ottomans, and Persians has made a lasting impact in establishing a permanent and significant Muslim minority in Georgia whose presence continues to be a topic of contention. What the Tsarist administration did herald was a more direct form of governance and its related oppression. Tsar Alexander III was especially tight fisted. His policies directed a forced cultural assimilation that eliminated Georgian language instruction in schools and discouraged traditional cultural practices. The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS, ISIL or Daesh) has rapidly become the most pressing foreign policy concern in the Middle East for the United States. In the last four years, Daesh has gathered swaths of territory in both Iraq and Syria, although it has been driven back thanks to coalition efforts to counter the group. The coalition in place to combat ISIS has allowed the US to take a supporting role through the use of airstrikes, military advising and intelligence sharing to the local forces on the ground. However, major shortcomings ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With divisions becoming prevalent regarding the modus operandi for AQI, Abu Omar al Baghdadi broke off from the group to form the Islamic State of Iraq (ISI). (Hashim 2014) While both the ISI and AQI had similar interests in combating foreign intervention and developing an Islamic caliphate in the region, the two groups sought two different means of achieving it. In Iraq in particular, Daesh was bolstered by a new interim Iraqi government that was particularly repressive towards the Sunni majority, which in turn drove disillusioned Sunnis towards the extremist group. Ultimately, ISI would expand into Syria in 2010 and splinter off from the Al Qaeda affiliated group Al Nusra, forming the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. Since then it has expanded into parts of Jordan and Libya as well. Current Strategy In the latest edition of the National Security Strategy, President Obama outlined his primary objective in dealing with the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. We [The US partners] are leading a comprehensive counterterrorism strategy to degrade and ultimately defeat ISIL. At the same time, we will continue to pursue a lasting political solution to the devastating conflict in Syria. People cannot be this compliant in their journey through life, people crave desires for motivation to actively reach for goals. Two kinds of motivation defined in psychology are extrinsic and intrinsic reinforcers. Extrinsic provides external rewards through other people or objects, while intrinsic rewards are intangible and commonly contribute a feeling of achievement in simply finishing the act. Lao Tzu primarily brings attention to losing extrinsic wants, such as power, possessions and other s endorsement. Nonetheless, Loa Tzu also partially encourages disregarding intrinsic desires for self enhancement, for example in this statement: when the body s intelligence declines, cleverness and knowledge step forth . Here he conveys that when people abandon their want to become more intelligent and stop striving to understand and learn, consequently they will naturally become smarter.
