Pro-Gun Rights Essay
Shall Not Be Infringed
When Governments fear the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is
tyranny. (Beck 35). This quote is from one of the greatest men in the history of the United States of
America, Thomas Jefferson, the father of the Declaration of Independence, and the third President of
the United States. The validity of his statement is not only historical, but as pertinent today as it was
when spoken anew. It is learned in schools across the nation, although the importance of the words
depends on the teacher, school, and region of the country. During the revolutionary period, King
George learned this same concept the hard way, ...an armed populace is a populace that will not be
pushed around. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Investigating all ten of the amendments to the Bill of Rights, only the second specifically ensures that
this be expected. The only true power that the people of a nation can have over their government is the
ability to remove it if it becomes more powerful than the people. This is a belief that is continuously
defended or confronted around the world and throughout history. Unfortunately, when the people have
an army standing between them and the government, the means to fight become very important, albeit
difficult. The federal government of the United States, when they attempt to create laws on gun
control, does not have the law on their side. Thanks to the founding fathers of the United States, this
right is ensured through time. They understood that any form of government can become corrupt and
eventually the people will need a legal way to ensure that they can take back their personal liberties if
it becomes necessary.
In the period of time before the United States became the young country it is today, in order to secure
and protect established borders, the colonists were in need of the assistance of the standing army of
King George, the British Red Coats. As soon as the colonists decided to revolt excessive taxation and
other mandates being imposed on towns and states,

Comparing Disney World And Universal Orlando Studios
There are a lot of theme parks in the world. Some are alike in many ways, and some may not have
anything in common. Theme parks may be world known and others may not be known to many
tourists. Two of the most common parks are in Florida: Disney World and Universal Orlando Studios.
Disney World is unique in a lot of ways. Disney World is made up of a total of 27,258 acres. Just the
resort in Disney is the same size as San Francisco. Disney is expensive, however, it is for the most part
less expensive than Universal Studios. When Disney first opened its doors in 1971 the admission fee
was less than $10. The founder of Disney World is the founder of everything Disney Walter Elias
Disney. Disney has roughly 62,000 employees in 2017, and that doesn t include interns. The yearly
average attendance is 46.5 million in 2017. Disney is definitely one of a kind in a lot of ways. Disney
has four parks: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios. ... Show more

The total size of Universal Studios is 450 acres, which is very big (1 acre = 43560 square feet). Kings
Island in Warren County, Ohio is 364 acres. But it is very small compared to the size of Disney World.
Universal Studios can get pretty expensive with tickets, food, and merchandise. Although price is very
important, people love going there and spending time with their family. There are many people
responsible for Universal, Carl Laemmle is the founder with the most influence. The park has a total
average of 12,000 employees, which is less than Disney s number of employees. Universal Studios

Organ Transplant
An organ transplant is a surgical operation conducted to replace an organ unable to function properly
with a new one. An organ, in turn, is an accumulation of cells and tissues gathered to perform the
functions of body. Therefore, any part of the body which acts as a performer of specific function is
called an organ. There are two possible ways of how the organ donation (OD) can take place. The first
is the donation of cadaveric organs (organs from recently deceased people). The decision to donate in
this way requires the consent of a person in the form of an indication on the driver license, like in the
USA (Gruessner, Benedetti, 2008, 54) or health care document as an organ donor card, in Netherlands,
Sweden, Ireland, for example ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Generally, Buddhism considers OD to be a positive act of human. Buddhists say that when a person
dies, he should be treated with a care, but there is no essential focus on physical integrity, i.e. body is
not necessary to be kept integral (Oliver et al, 2010, 4). From this one might come up with a thought
that buddhists focus on spiritual development and individual consciousness is given much attention in
the religion, while preservation of physical body might not be crucial. Consequently, giving an organ
to another person would not be perceived as inappropriate act, but rather as an expression of
generosity and altruism.
From the evidences presented above it may be concluded that none of the major religions forbids OD
to be done by a person. Basically, they encourage people to make self sacrificial, compassionate and
benevolent to the humanity acts, such as donations. Likewise, some religions leave a space for people
to identify whether they suppose OD to be an act of charity or mistreatment of individual s self esteem
by themselves. Religion mostly directs a person to follow a right, in their understanding, path on
grounds of what is appropriate and what should not be done to avoid mistakes or improper behavior.
Meanwhile, people, being followers of a particular religion, might interpret

Rifleman Dodd Essay examples
United States Marine Corps Professional Reading Program Book Discussion Rifleman Dodd 1.
Identify the author s mission (task and purpose) in writing this book. I believe that the mission of the
author, Victor H. Krulak, Lieutenant General, USMC (Ret.), in writing this book was to describe how
vital the United States Marine Corps is to our nation and that through the extensive preparation and
training we receive, we have become the leading fighting force on and off the battle field. The purpose
of this book was to inspire readers about the Marine Corps and to explain stories about how different
equipment came into the Corps and how we perfected them. The author s goal was the educate readers

I have yet to personally experience war, but I feel like I have experienced what the author talks about
in forming a bond with fellow Marines through our shared Corps values. 5. Identify the author s
specific and implied conclusions. The book is intended to show readers how the direction and purpose
of the Marine Corps has been influenced by many over the years. It shows the pride, determination
and love of the Corps and our country that Krulak felt. 6a. With respect to the author s conclusions
(either specified or implied), I accept or agree with the following and why: His explanations of the
struggle to keep the Marine Corps alive and the early development of amphibious doctrine make this
book a great tool in understanding the modern Marine Corps. 6b. With respect to the author s
conclusions (either specified or implied), I reject or do not agree with the following and why: The
author points out various examples of the Corps short comings throughout history. With the Marine
Corps already struggling to stay atop its game, it didn t shed positive light on the situations. With that
said, it s hard to point out the flaws of the Corps without also showing its achievements and how we
can overcome any obstacle we are faced with. 7a. This book made a favorable impression on me and it
will change the way I approach: people who question whether or not the Marine Corps should still
exist. I can now easily explain the manner in how the

Benefits Of Music Therapy Dementia
##**Can music therapy help treat dementia?** _Living with dementia is not easy, nor is seeing your
loved one suffer from it. Recent studies show that music therapy provides a plethora of benefits for
dementia patients. Music improves cognition, reduces stress, and thereby, makes a patient s life easier
to cope with. Music is probably not going to cure your loved one s dementia, but it can bring
significant sunshine in the patient s everyday life!_ Dementia cannot be categorized as a specific
disease it s rather a set of symptoms that interfere with cognitive abilities like: memory, language,
judgment, communication, and thinking. Usually, dementia starts with memory loss and gradually gets
severe enough to interfere with day to day life. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are two ways how music therapy works: active and receptive. In active music therapy the
patient and the therapist indulge in lively sessions of dancing, singing and playing instruments. In
receptive therapy, the therapist sings or plays music while patients simply listens to. Sometimes, the
therapist identifies familiar music and creates a playlist in mp3 devices like an iPod for the patient.
While familiar music might give a chance to reconnect with the past, random soothing music helps the
patients to calm down and concentrate. Professional music therapy is the ideal way to go, but

Remember The Titans And Philip Noyce Rabbit Proof Fence...
Leadership and change are clear themes in Boaz Yakin s Remember the Titans and Phillip Noyce s
Rabbit Proof fence. Molly is an Aboriginal girl in the middle of Western Australia who is taken from
her mother and must get back home by following a Rabbit proof fence. Gerry is a White American
who is racist towards African Americans, this changes as he learnt to play with an integrated team.
Gerry s leadership drives change, his leadership helps change his life and the lives of others. Molly s
leadership drives change when she escaped from Moore River with Gracie and Daisy. Even though
Molly led Gracie and Daisy out of Moore River, she hasn t brought White Australians and Indigenous
people together. But, Gerry s Leadership changed Jean and Emma s view as well as majority of
Alexandria s view on Black Americans. Gerry s leadership changed how African Americans were
viewed, after Hammond high school Integrated, creating T.C Williams High School.
As captain, Gerry Bertier led the Titans, he provoked change within his community. Molly is a leader,
her leadership and quick thinking assists her. Daisy and Gracie follow her because she is a
commendable leader. Before changing his perspective on African Americans, Gerry was intolerant and
bias towards Black Americans, I don t want to play with those Black Animals. Gerry learnt to play
with African Americans and respect them and understand that they are the same. But, Ray didn t
respect African Americans, unlike the rest of his team. I want Ray off the team, Coach. Gerry took
Ray off the team as it was bringing the team down and he didn t want a racist player on his team.
Gerry changed the team, due to his leadership. White Americans began to follow Gerry, by getting to

Connotation For Independence
Once upon a time Cuba was a state ruled by the American law. Then a man came, namely Fidel
Castro, and fought for an independent state of Cuba. After the death of thousands and intensive
diplomatic negotiations Cuba became an independent nation. Just like Castro s independence many
people strived to become independent throughout the history in different ways. Independence is a state
of being where one is free from the rule of authority. The desire for independence by the people
lacking it formed a positive connotation for the word; at the same time, unjustified negative
connotations of the word was developed by the individuals aiming to hinder the independence of

Independence of South Sudan was viewed positively by the South Sudanese people, but the Sudan
viewed it negatively. Although the Sudanese government didn t provide the necessary life standard for

problematic issue. Oppressed and oppressive people have contrary mindsets to each other. The aim of
the oppressed people is an enemy to be destroyed according to the oppressive people. In this case, the
objective is independence and the Sudanese government killed thousands of people to hinder the
independence of South Sudan. Eventually, Sudanese people began viewing independence as a threat to
their unity; which is a negative connotation of the word only confirmed by the oppressing people.

Winter Break Research Paper
During the winter break, I did a lot of things and I spent most of the time with my family and friends.
One of the things, I did during the break was to go meet my uncle in Hayward, California. It was a
very long drive but it was worth it. When we went there I met cousins who I haven t seen for a long
time. Then my cousins and I went to the mall to do some shopping. Then on our way back from the
mall, we went to theater to watch a movie. We spent our Christmas in Hayward and I got a lot of
presents. Then we came back to Bakersfield one day after Christmas. Second thing, I did was that I
went to go meet my elementary friend. She wanted me to come over to her house. So I went to her
house and we did a lot of stuff. First, we baked cupcakes and cookies. Then we watched a movie and

On our way back from the airport, we stopped at In N Out Burger to get something to eat. They stayed

planned to stay awake the whole night just to see if we can stay awake. But none of us stayed awake
for the whole night. When all the days passed and they had to leave, I was pretty sad that they were
leaving. In the spare that I had in this break, I watched T.V, listened to music, and read books. When
there was only one days left of winter break. I was sad because I didn t want to go to school. The day
before our school started, my whole family went to eat dinner at an Indian restaurant. So this winter
break was really fun and I spent it with my family and friends. These were some of the things I did

she struggle to teach Helen at first, but she also struggled with her own family s issues as well. Despite
dealing with being sent to live in a poor house and also starting to go blind herself, she went to get the
gift of an education and then went on to give it back. Anne Sullivan did not have the best life growing

Anterior Cruciate Ligar
The Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) is one of the most common knee injuries in female sports
today. The ACL is a ligament that attaches the femur and tibia to the knee allowing the knee to bend
while still being stable and supporting the whole body. Dr. Russel F. Warren, a physician for the New
York Giants football team, explains, The ACL prevents the shin bone (tibia) from moving too far
forward on the thigh bone (femur) and keeps the knee from twisting inward excessively. When
athletes tear their ACL there is a greater chance that they have hurt or another ligament in their knee
such as the LCL, MCL or Meniscus; which is cartilage that absorbs shock from the body s pressure
(MedlinePlus). The ACL is strong, but one wrong move could result

Blackface And The Minstrel Show
The first African American to be represented on screen was the character of Uncle Tom in the short
film Uncle Tom s Cabin in 1903, directed by Edwin S. Porter. But in fact, it was only a representation
because the actor was a white man in black face. As presented in the introduction, Blackface was
already highly popular in the 19th century with the minstrel show that popularized the blackface
technique. The minstrel show was a form of entertainment popular from the early 19th century to the
early 20th century based on racial stereotypes and is regarded as the first distinctly national popular
culture in America.
But the use of blackface goes back to antiquity, and according to Jason Richards in his Whites in
Blackface, Blacks in Whiteface: Racial fluidities and national identities :
the most memorable instances of early blackface are found in Shakespeare s Titus Andronicus and
Othello, both of which featured Moors as characters.
The first American production in 1769 The Padlock featured a blackface servant called Mungo who
danced and sang for whites.
In it only latter in the 19th century that blackface became wildly popular, with first the British actor

practice of blackface would make the transition to the early cinema in Hollywood in the early 20th

show and its impact continued in the film industry with many movies where actors played African
American with black face makeup in an era where racism and discrimination was still strong. The
most notable use of blackface in cinema was in the 1915 movie the Birth of a Nation by D. W.

Japanese Literature Throughout History And History
In Japanese literature throughout history, there tends to be an idea of nature that is not nature as it
really is, but is a projection of the subjective self. This is portrayed through the concept of Mappō.
Mappō in Japanese Buddhism, is the age of the degeneration of the Buddha s law, when only the
teachings remained, the practices were no longer pursued, and enlightenment was a mere word. This is
a concept that has substance, especially when combined with mujō, the idea of impermanence. Mujō
became an idea because Buddha taught that because all things within our lives and our world are
constantly changing, it s important to remember that nothing is permanent. Kamo no Chōmei s writing
presents a variety of elements related to Mappō, which, through the concept of mujō, shows the
impermanence of nature as well as humanity fading into the vastness of nothingness. Through the
traditions of simplicity, isolation, and religion, specifically Buddhism and the Lotus Sutra, Hōjōki
shows this disastrous fleeting through a calm, poetic, narrative voice. This paper will argue that
themes of nature are connected to the idea of the subjective self, through impermanence, and studies
how Chōmei s worldview affects his perspective on nature and the natural world.
Immediately, Kamo introduces Hōjōki with a smooth, pessimistic, poetic tone, describing the
impermanence of foam floating in a river pool. This gives the reader an abrupt sense of sadness which
is further produced through a direct

Necrophilia Murder
Necrophilia and its Relation to Murder Necrophilia is defined as, recurrent sexually arousing fantasies,
sexual urges, or behaviors involving intercourse with dead bodies (Colman, 2009) Necrophilia in the
past has been something that presented itself as an opportunity because of where someone worked.
Professions that had people dealing with corpses on a daily basis lead to a form of comfort around the
bodies, then when a person became curious they would start to experiment with the bodies. There are
rumors that this was popular with the embalmers of ancient Egypt and that it became necessary that
the bodies of highly born women were not embalmed immediately after death but allowed to become
slightly putrid, as a deterrent. (Blakemore, Jennett, 2001) Krafft Ebing suggested that the attraction

Necrophilic fantasy is thinking about having sex with a corpse but never acting on those thoughts.
(Rathus, 2005) Necrophilic fantasies have been considered therapeutically to result from childhood
trauma. Sometimes this can result from a humiliation, often from the mother, in regards to the human
body. (Lemma, 2013) It leads to again, the conclusion that the base of necrophilia is to have a subject
that is incapable of resistance or of rejection. Referring back to Ted Bundy, his relationship with his

Chartres Cathedral Analysis
Chartres Cathedral
Chartres Cathedral is one of the most significant achievements of all the historical architecture.
Additionally, it is entirely preserved with its original details. The unique features of the cathedral are
intact, and thus when one visits the place, he or she is likely to encounter the authentic architecture
work as it was done many years ago. Chartres Cathedral symbolizes an atmosphere of awe and
holiness (Katzenellenbogen, 2). As such, it was built for religious purposes. However, it attracts the
nonbelievers as well. As a holy building, it has many glass windows to light the building. Due to its
height, a double flying buttresses is used to support the high nave. The cathedral was the first building
in history that used buttresses since it was considered as necessary for the peoples culture and as a
sign of authority. It was built to reflect a symbol of power since the religious leaders engaged in
politics too. The cathedral has many statuses that represent the Biblical aspects such as Elijah, Isaiah,
John the Baptist, Jeremiah, and Simeon (Katzenellenbogen, 9). The standings portray the Christian
faith that was used by the architectures while building the cathedral. The interior floor stands thirty six
meters high and is one hundred and twenty eight meters wide. The sizes show how vital it is and it can
host many peoples who visit for religious functions.

Literary Analysis Of Romeo And Juliet
Formal Literary Analysis Romeo and Juliet To be wronged is nothing, unless you continue to
remember it. In Romeo and juliet by Shakespeare we see two households being torn apart by an

uses the destructive nature of holding grudges in Romeo and Juliet to further the plot of the story, and
and to also further character development. Shakespeare uses the destructive nature of holding grudges

As I hate hell, all Montagues, and thee. Have at thee, coward! (1.5.60 62). Tybalt starts to put tension

Summary Of Beverly Tatum s Argument
Beverly Tatum s Argument Beverly Tatum s argument about the multiple identities and how many
people define their self is one of the most notorious articles I ve ever read. She s arguing how the areas
where a person is a member of the dominant or advantaged social group, the category is usually not
mentioned. That element of their identity is so taken for granted by them that it goes without
comment. For example she talks about when she asked her students of color to complete the sentence I
am .... how many of them mention their race, I am Black, Puerto Rican, and Korean American . But,
when she asked white students to complete the sentence they rarely bring up their race. Some may ask
why is it that the white students didn t bring up their race? That s because through out the world and

She uses her examples perfectly, and backed it up very well, they fall right into what she s trying to

but always remember how we are subordinates as you can see. The Dominant groups, by definition,
set the parameters within which the subordinates operate. The dominant group holds the power and
authority in society relative to the subordinates and determines how that power and authority may be
acceptably used. Miller points out that dominant groups generally do not like to be reminded of the
existence of inequality. Because rationalizations have been created to justify the social arrangements,
it is easy to believe everything is as it should be (Tatum 3). Subordinates groups often find their selves
trying to live above and go beyond the bar that the dominant group has set for us, and break the

Killing Reagan
Killing Reagan: The Violent Assault That Changed a Presidency is a book by Bill O Reilly and Martin
Dugard. The book is a biographical depiction of President Ronald Reagan, including a look at his
career as an actor, marriage to Nancy Reagan, an assassination attempt during his presidency, and
eventual physical and mental decline.
The book focuses on showcasing the nearly impossible obstacles he had to overcome in order to carry
out the duties as a man and as President of the United States. The authors wanted to create a portrait of
a great man operating in violent times , and that they did, albeit it being a bit skewed. The book is a bit
all over the place, but after the first chapter (1980 presidential debate) it follows a chronological trend,
with each chapter marking an important moment in Reagan s life. In regards to the prologue, Bill O

defeated Soviet communism and ended the Cold War. Honorable tribute to Reagan indeed but the

MLB Salary Cap Analysis
Three out of four of the most popular sports in America all have salary caps in their organization.
Salary caps are meant to keep the league competitive, control cost and increase overall league
revenues. Sports that are seen as more competitive and fun to watch will boost tv ratings which will
then lead to higher profits from their sales and advertisement. Without a salary cap, big named teams
that are popular and successful will have more money for free agency to stack their team, since they
can make the best offers. In the MLB there is not a salary cap, which puts teams like the New York
Yankees or the Los Angeles Dodgers that have more money than other teams in an advantage. You can

Choosing the Coast Guard Academy is profoundly due to the fact that I have a willingness to serve my
country, and the training provided giving me the readiness for any situation at any given time. The
more dedication that I as a cadet will strive to achieve will allow me to get the best possible

Baking Soda Experiment
Rockets Powered by Baking Soda and Vinegar
Introduction:
A chemical change can be caused by combining two compounds, such as baking soda (NaHCO3) and
vinegar (CH3COOH). The change that is taking place is because of the chemical property of
reactivity. When these two compounds react CO2 is produced. In this experiment we wanted to see
how much baking soda, added to 10mL of vinegar, would cause a film canister rocket to shoot the
farthest. I predicted that 10mL of baking soda would shoot the farthest because it would be equal to
the amount of vinegar in the canister. The independent variable in this experiment was the amount of
baking soda and the dependent variable was how far the lid would shoot.
Materials:
Paper towel
Vinegar
Baking Soda
Film canister
Goggles (eye protection)
Measuring tools
Methods:
1. Measure and cut 9 pieces of paper towel 10cm x 12cm
2. Put 10mL vinegar in film canister
3. Measure baking soda, place in paper towel and fold it up
4. Put paper towel in canister and snap the lid on

Describe The Characters Of Abraham Lincoln
1. Describe the character BOOTH in your own words as though we were writing them on the board.
Booth is a black man in his 30 s that is looking to settle down with Grace. Booth is the younger
brother of Lincoln that struggles to make any income. He is a good looking man, or at least he
portrays himself to be, that is somewhat dirty and unkempt due to the fact that he does not have the
money to afford running water. Usually he wears average streets clothes, maybe some rugged jeans
and a worn shirt, but from time to time he will wear a nice suit and shoes that he has stolen from a
department store. For the most part, Booth is an average sized man that has a rugged outer appearance
due to having to handle his own on the streets in the card game business.
2. Describe the character LINCOLN in your own words as though we were writing them on the board.
Lincoln is a black man in his late 30 s that is the older brother of Booth. Lincoln is the brother that
makes the income of the two by acting as Abraham Lincoln. Since he plays Abe he must be a tall kind
of slender man, but no facial hair because he has to wear a fake beard. He also has a dirty unkempt
look about him because he neither has running water, resides in the same place as his brother. He is
somewhat older looking than Booth, and has an aged face and short hair that is slowly thinning over
the years due to having to step in as the father for Booth. Lincoln took on all responsibility for Booth

How Education Is The Key Focus On Improving Test Scores
For many years the government has played a role in how education was run. For decades, politics has
placed its focus on student test scores, how to increase those test scores, and standards that must be
followed in order to achieve the goals the politicians have set. Early childhood education has been the
key focus on improving test scores. According to the politics, test scores must meet above average
levels in order for students to become college and career ready. Greater emphasize is pushed on math
and reading levels to improve before students reach middle grade classes. Politics took more control
and are now pressing for state standardized test to prove student improvements and well as school

with disabilities (Educational Technology, 2012). It described how and what students would be
learning and assessments given to prove their success. The NCLB was designed with academic
standards categorized by each individual state. By the 2005 school year, all states were to prove their
assessments for language arts and math in grades 3 8 every year, then once during their high school
years. By the 2007 school year, science assessments became mandatory. Although the NCLB were

with disabilities receiving extra time on test, having a small group management, having test questions
read aloud to them or allowing them to take extra breaks during the test (No Child Left Behind Act

Dealing In The Poem By W. H. Auden
The Poem was written by W.H Auden and was written in 1936.
The title in itself has many connotations of sadness. The word Funeral is associated with someone
dying. The word blues on the other hand is a type of Jazz that often conveys sadness. By combining
the two, we can see that the author has cleverly manipulated the title into conveying sadness.
The poem opens energetically, with an intensely emphasized verb Stop, a start that also suggests an
ending. Certainly, much of the rest of the poem is similarly constructed on heavily accentuated verbs
of command. The attitude of the poem is highly imperative. The poet gives out orders, but the
instructions he issues suggest that he cannot believe that the death of the certain person has happened.

Death severs this connection, creating a shift in how life is perceived. The strength of this is in
contrast with the images of death, the funeral preparations, and how society thinks of mourning that
are in the previous stanzas. The last line of the third stanza and the fourth stanza speak to the perpetual
sense of loss that death has on the plane of living.
In the fourth stanza the poet s agony rings out even more passionately. Here he stresses that Nature
notice his grief, calling it to extinguish the stars and the moon and the sun and get rid of the ocean. He
desires the world to reflect the emptiness within him left by death. Human monuments to the dead will
not be adequate at best. There is no optimism at the end of the poem; the reader is left with the very
real and very hostile sense of the man s grief, since no end can be accomplished without the poet s

Negative Ambition In Macbeth
Negative ambition fills the minds of many people across the world. However, we are going to look at
a specific example from the play Macbeth by William Shakespeare. The main character from this play
is Macbeth who is struggling with an ambition to become the king of Scotland. This paper will
demonstrate that Macbeth is an accurate example of negative ambition. Ambition is the desire for
something and the determination to achieve that desire. Ambition can be classified in two different
ways. The first, positive ambition, can be summed up as the desire to get better as a human. There are
so many problems that can occur during a human s life on earth and through positive ambition one can
help themselves overcome their problems. For instance if you take the situation of an individual with
cancer. A majority of successful survivors of cancer have the desire to get back to normal health. To
accomplish this the patients must go through a lot of pain and struggle but positive ambition can help
them push through. The second classification of ambition is negative ambition. Negative ambition can
be summed up as having the desire for something and the determination to achieve it but often at the
personal loss of others. Many examples include murdering for a gain of power, lying to improve your
wealth, or stealing to improve your lifestyle. These people all have the characteristics of ambition but
are using their ambition at the cost of others. They are using their ambition for gain while taking from
others. We find ambition at the heart of many scenes in the play Macbeth. In scene three we first learn
of Macbeth s desire to become king. Macbeth says this, If Chance will have me king, why, chance
may crown me Without my stir. (1,3, 143 144). In this quote, after Macbeth hears the witches
prophecy of him becoming king, Macbeth implies that he will gladly take the throne without question.
However, ambition consists of both desire and determination and Macbeth has not shown any
determination until Act two scene one when he says this I go, and it is done. The bell invites me. Hear
it not, Duncan, for it is a knell That summons thee to heaven or to hell. ( 2,1, 62 64). In this section of

The world record small mouth weighed 11 pounds and 15 ounces. Was 27 inches long and 21 2/3
inches in girth. Most smallmouth range from 10 inches up to 20. Bass over 20 inches are rare but a lot
of fun to catch. A good healthy temperature for small mouth is between 68 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit.
Normally bass live between 6 to 14 years, but with perfect conditions a bass can live up to 20 years.
Small mouth like to create nests with their tails in 3 to 8 feet of water, with sand and small gravel for a

Smallmouths have both external fertilization and external development. Feeding for smallmouth tops

usually occurs in April or May unless the temperature stays cold than it can be delayed. The first
person to describe a smallmouth bass was Lacepede is 1802. The fry hatch out of their eggs in about a
week and then continue to develop for another week. Young smallmouths are fed upon by yellow
perch, Northern pike or muskellunge. Bigger bass are only eaten by northern pike, musky but the main
predators of smallmouth bass are humans. The lifespan in the wild is normally about seven years, but
some will live up to 20 years. In captivity the average age is ten years. When the young hatch out of
their eggs they are about 0.2 inches long, very easy prey for a variety of animals. Multiple females
will spawn in the nest of one male and an individual female will spawn in more than one. Smallmouth
dance and bite each other, this is their mating ritual. In New York the record smallmouth was 8
pounds, 4 ounces caught out of Lake Erie on 6/4/1995 by Andrew C Kartesz. Smallmouth bass are

Character Sketch Of Oedipus
Sophocles Oedipus is a standout amongst the most surely understood grievous legends ever. His
bizarre destiny drives him to terrible destruction that leaves both the peruser and the gathering of
people feeling candidly influenced. As indicated by the meaning of the Greek thinker, Aristotle,
Oedipus troublesome story qualifies him as a sad legend. Oedipus is the epitome of Aristotle s
portrayal of a shocking saint through his capacity to safeguard his excellence and intelligence, in spite
of his defects and scrape. The Aristotelian perspective of an unfortunate saint does not uncover the
absence of ethical quality or even the fiendishness of the hero, in view of a blunder of judgment. The
disaster and show so consummately fit the Aristotelian attributes of Oedipus. Thinking about Aristotle

William Shakespeare s Hamlet Essay
To be or not to be (3.1.64) not whether to live or to die, but the use of to be is an important question.
Shakespeare uses the simple infinitive of to be , in the opening of the most famous soliloquy in
Hamlet, or perhaps all of Shakespeare, as opposed to the more complex phrase, to live or to die .
Before Hamlet, the speaker of this soliloquy, analyzes all of mankind s reasoning behind the subject of
life, something both painful and long, and death, something both inevitable and muddied in mystery,
he uses the simplest and shortest of infinitives. Seemingly, a simple phrase cannot give justice to some
of the more complex and mysterious questions human nature asks; finding answers to why humans

People lose loved ones and are forced to endure sickness and poverty, which are much more prevalent
problems in life, yet Hamlet says that life is painful due to the abuses of superiors, to the insults of the
arrogant, and to the pains of a once sided love. However, when Hamlet lists his problems, he is not
referencing man s universal pains but the pains he feels himself from King Claudius killing his father
and verbally abusing Hamlet and the unrequited love he experiences from a girl named Ophelia. In
this instance, and in every other instance within the play, Hamlet isn t directly acknowledging the
depression he faces, as he only hints at his sorrows, something also seen throughout the play when he
pretends that his madness is part of his act of revenge on King Claudius. So, when Hamlet states that
is ridiculous how people to live a life full of slings and arrows (3.1.64) and when one could simply
take arms against a sea of troubles and die (3.1.67), he is, in actuality contemplating suicide, as he had
referenced the troubles he, himself, faces, making his musings personal, without knowing it. Because
of the fact that Hamlet never validates his emotions outright, it causes him to have unanswered
questions about his feelings, and, as a result, it leads to the

Death in Emily Dickinson s Because I Could Not Stop for Death and I Heard a Fly Buzz When I Died
Emily Dickinson s two poems, Because I Could Not Stop For Death and I Heard A Fly Buzz When I
Died, revolve around one central theme, death. Though the two do centralize around the theme of
death they both have slightly different messages or beliefs about what is to come after death. By
discussing both of the poems and interpreting their meanings, the reader can gain a fuller
understanding of the message Dickinson is trying to send to her audience and a greater feel for what
may lie ahead in the afterlife. When Dickinson writes in her first line, I heard a fly buzz when I died, it

In stanza three the speaker is preparing for a journey into an afterlife that may lie ahead. Dickinson
writes, I willed my keepsakes, signed away what portion of me I could make assignable, and then
there interposed a fly. After already dying the speaker feels that it is no longer a must to have the
possessions that most living people deem necessary and leaves them behind as her soul comes closer
to it?s fate. The speaker is getting ready to make this transition to the next world but then the fly
reappears and puts a halt to this alteration. The final stanza of this poem includes the lines, With blue,
uncertain, stumbling buzz, between the light and me; and then the windows failed, and then I could
not see to see. The word light in this stanza can be associated with some heavenly existence or higher
power that awaits the speaker.
The buzzing fly blocks her view though of where she is heading and the light that was once there is
now gone. Though the poem deals with what may await the speaker in the afterlife the reader is still
left wondering if anything does await them after death because the speaker does not reach an afterlife
in the poem. Dickinson?s poem Because I Could Not Stop For Death serenely describes how the
speaker is escorted by Death in his carriage. Death carries the speaker slowly and peacefully through
time. It is ironic that Dickinson writes of Death?s civility and politeness during a time that is mostly
associated with anger and sadness.

After Jane Burnham s first meeting with Ricky Fitts in American Beauty she responds by saying, He s

Jane s dream, is this her unconscious wish for pleasure or happiness...to be like Ricky Fitts? There
seems to be a theme running through the movie American Beauty where we see people looking to
other people as a source to receive their own sense of confidence, or ultimately, happiness. This is also
evident in Demian by Hermann Hesse when we see Emil Sinclair seeking out Max Demian. This

The description of Max Demian given by Emil Sinclair is right on with that of Ricky Fitts: He seemed
too superior and detached, his manner too provocatively confident...I can only say that he was in every
respect different from all the others, was entirely himself, with a personality all his own which made
him noticeable even though he did his best not to be noticed... (Hesse 27). This quality is seen by
Lester Burnham with his first encounter with Ricky Fitts when they are smoking marijuana. Ricky s
catering boss comes outside and catches him not working and remarks, I m not paying you to do
whatever it is you are doing out here. Ricky replies spontaneously without any hesitation, Fine, don t
pay me. I quit so you don t have to pay me. So, leave me alone. Lester turns to Ricky and says, I think
you just became my personal hero! Lester is never the same again.
A growing sense of confidence is a theme found in American Beauty and Demian. After hanging out
with Max Demian, Emil gains the confidence to tell Franz Kromer he will not bring his sister for him
to meet and also tells his mother that he stole money from her piggy bank. In American Beauty, we see
Lester Burnham slowly open up and he begins to speak his mind, instead of being afraid and keeping
his mouth shut. An example of this is when he has a dispute with his wife Carol about their sexual
frustrations. He says: This hasn t been a marriage for years, but you were happy as

Contraceptives And Birth Control
Contraceptives or birth control are methods that prevent unplanned pregnancies but are also used
promote family planning, reduce the spread of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and treat
cosmetic and gynecological conditions. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevent,
about 45% of all pregnancies in 2011 were unplanned in the United States, which was a 51% decline
since 2008.1 Of those about 50% resulted without birth control use and the other half reported using a
method of birth control. In addition, of the 45% of unplanned pregnancies, higher rates are seen in
adolescents and ethnic minorities, which leads to an increase risk for poor maternal and infant
outcomes and an increase in abortions across the globe.2 According to the World Health Organization
(WHO), 16 million births to mothers aged 15 19 years old were reported in 2008.3 This represented
11% of births worldwide and of these births 95% were in developing countries.3 The 2014 World
Health Statistics reported that the average global birth rate for 15 19 year old girls is 4.9%, where the
rates are the highest in sub Saharan Africa.4 Although there is no universal trend toward early
initiation of sexual activity, the higher rate of pregnancies seen in teens, adolescents, and ethnic
minorities can be related to cultural influences, gender and social norms, lack of sexual and primary
education, improper use of contraceptives, and/or the restricted access of reproductive health care

Founding Fathers in which America votes for its President and Vice President every four years. The
Electoral College was put in place to help prevent abuse of power and corruption by having a

The Murders in the Rue Morgue
A. The Murders in the Rue Morgue begins with propositions (Poe 2) to help the reader follow the
reading through the use of critical thinking like that of a chess or card player. The chess player must
wait and contemplate each move of another player, while the card player is more prone to memory
perception. Poe then introduces his acquaintance Dupin and expounds on his abilities. Then
Extraordinary Murders (5) begins the sequence of the detective like story. The murders were written
about in the local paper and giving no clue, leaving the mystery unanswered. The next day many
testimonial references were given in the paper and their account of the murders exposed, still without
any evidential clues. The evening paper reveal the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In PL, Dupin s known logic of how people act leads him to the letter. In both stories, Dupin makes fun
of the ways police use routine investigative procedures that do not help them find any clues or
assistance in solving their cases. All while Dupin is making fun of the police, he is showing how thick
headed they are and how they lack the analytical abilities to figure things out. In both stories, Dupin is
the detective who interferes with the thick headed police and easily solves the cases with brilliance.
These stories are being told through the use of a companion as narrator, while he follows the detective
in all his observations. As the stories are both told, it was interesting to read some of the clues that led
to solving the crime, but appeared impossible for the police to see. For example, in PL Dupin openly
asks in they searched the paper on the walls (1195) although they seem to have found nothing. In
MRM, the descriptions given concerning the murders and there horror were something that no man, or
even two could have done. Additionally, if the police and physician would have examined the entire
bodies of the dead, the clues were completely visible to the human eye. The fifth ground rule takes
place in the MRM and is explained by the use of the shutters and broken window latch. If the window
latch was whole, the murders would not have taken place. Or

The Best Tablets For Drawing
The Best Tablets for Drawing in 2017 Over the years, the appreciation for art has always stayed the
same. We still appreciate Picasso s work. Man indeed doesn t change. But his landscape does. His
tools and his surrounding also have to change to serve him better. An artist is a true observer of life.
As such, he is bound to notice the ever changing quality of life that is more so enhanced by
technology; and then captured by the same technology. The rudimentary drawings of the stone ages
captured life then. Technologically enhanced equipment will help us capture ours. Enter the
technology s provision to modern day art; the drawing tablet. Art supplies have always been generally
expensive. We can confirm the drawing tablet is also not cheap. However, ask any artist today, this
tablet is a necessary tool to keep up with the artistic trends. So what should you be looking for in a
drawing tablet in order to have the best drawing experience? Interface A USB interface is the best in a
drawing tablet as it allows you to use any computer as long as it supports USB. Since the interface is
what allows your tablet to connect with your computer, it is important to note whether your computer

Market Segmentation Is The Segmentation Of The Market
(3)Market segmentation is the identification of portions of the market that are different from one
another. Segmentation allows the firm to better satisfy the needs of its potential customer.
Market segmentation can be separated into four different variables or characteristics. These include;
Demographic segmentation Demographic segmentation is one of the simplest and widest types of
market segmentation used. Most companies use it to get the right population in using their products.
Segmentation generally divides a population based on variables. Thus demographic segmentation too
has its own variables such as Age, gender, family size, income, occupation, religion, race and
nationality.

Differentiated marketing or multi segment targeting:
When market segmentation reveals several potential target segments that the company can serve
profitably, specific marketing mixes can be developed to appeal to all or some of the segments. A
differentiated marketing strategy exploits the differences between marketing segments by designing a
specific marketing mix for each segment.
3. Focus or concentrated targeting:
Several segments may be identified but a company may not serve all of them. Some may be
unattractive or out of line with the company s business strengths. A company may target just one
segment with a single marketing mix. It understands the needs, and motives of the segment s
customers and designs a specialized marketing mix.
4. Customized/ individual marketing:
In some markets, the requirements of individual customers are unique and their purchasing power is
sufficient to make designing a separate marketing mix for each customer a viable option. Many
service providers such as advertising, marketing research firms, architects and solicitors vary their
offerings on a customer to customer basis.
With regards to the target market, Aunt Jackie is targeting the niche or focus

Analysis of Wing Safety Using Full-Range Leadership Model...
During the past eight months this wing has endured a horrific string of safety accidents resulting in the
death or serious injury of multiple individuals. Unfortunately service members and/or dependents have
been identified as the root cause. As the new Chief of the Wing Safety office this is my number #1
priority. I cannot solve this problem alone and will rely heavily on my team. This paper will explain
how I analyzed the current environment using the Full Range Leadership Model (FRLM) as well my
plan to build them back up using the same model. Additionally, I will detail my plan that will address
the safety issue and establish goal setting milestones which will help us achieve our objective.
After sitting down with each ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First and foremost, I will incorporate idealized influence measures. The team will see I am 100%
committed to solving this problem and will do so without cutting corners. Second, I will make it clear
that I cannot do this alone. Following the intellectual stimulation model I will communicate to them
the need to come up with new ideas, but just as important, I want them involved in decision making
process. Third, I will address the morale issue by using the inspirational motivation model. They need
to hear we will succeed. By using this technique I will convey to them that despite the awesome
challenge that lies before us, we will succeed and save lives. This will be a theme throughout our
problem solving process in order to eliminate self doubt and instill confidence. Finally, like any team
in a sport or work environment, not everyone is the same and each person may require different levels
of attention. Simply put, I need to know who these people really are. It is my responsibility to provide
the proper feedback, guidance and mentorship to each of them using the individual consideration trait.
In this role I will be developing safety experts today, who in turn, can spread their knowledge and
successful techniques to the troops of tomorrow.
Starting immediately the team and I will meet daily to discuss this issue. Before we commence I will
explain what the Wing Commander s goals are

  • 2. Pro-Gun Rights Essay Shall Not Be Infringed When Governments fear the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. (Beck 35). This quote is from one of the greatest men in the history of the United States of America, Thomas Jefferson, the father of the Declaration of Independence, and the third President of the United States. The validity of his statement is not only historical, but as pertinent today as it was when spoken anew. It is learned in schools across the nation, although the importance of the words depends on the teacher, school, and region of the country. During the revolutionary period, King George learned this same concept the hard way, ...an armed populace is a populace that will not be pushed around. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Investigating all ten of the amendments to the Bill of Rights, only the second specifically ensures that this be expected. The only true power that the people of a nation can have over their government is the ability to remove it if it becomes more powerful than the people. This is a belief that is continuously defended or confronted around the world and throughout history. Unfortunately, when the people have an army standing between them and the government, the means to fight become very important, albeit difficult. The federal government of the United States, when they attempt to create laws on gun control, does not have the law on their side. Thanks to the founding fathers of the United States, this right is ensured through time. They understood that any form of government can become corrupt and eventually the people will need a legal way to ensure that they can take back their personal liberties if it becomes necessary. In the period of time before the United States became the young country it is today, in order to secure and protect established borders, the colonists were in need of the assistance of the standing army of King George, the British Red Coats. An organ, in turn, is an accumulation of cells and tissues gathered to perform the functions of body. Therefore, any part of the body which acts as a performer of specific function is called an organ. There are two possible ways of how the organ donation (OD) can take place. The first is the donation of cadaveric organs (organs from recently deceased people). The decision to donate in this way requires the consent of a person in the form of an indication on the driver license, like in the USA (Gruessner, Benedetti, 2008, 54) or health care document as an organ donor card, in Netherlands, Sweden, Ireland, for example ... Buddhists say that when a person dies, he should be treated with a care, but there is no essential focus on physical integrity, i.e. body is not necessary to be kept integral (Oliver et al, 2010, 4). From this one might come up with a thought that buddhists focus on spiritual development and individual consciousness is given much attention in the religion, while preservation of physical body might not be crucial. Consequently, giving an organ to another person would not be perceived as inappropriate act, but rather as an expression of generosity and altruism. From the evidences presented above it may be concluded that none of the major religions forbids OD to be done by a person. Basically, they encourage people to make self sacrificial, compassionate and benevolent to the humanity acts, such as donations. Likewise, some religions leave a space for people to identify whether they suppose OD to be an act of charity or mistreatment of individual s self esteem by themselves. Religion mostly directs a person to follow a right, in their understanding, path on grounds of what is appropriate and what should not be done to avoid mistakes or improper behavior. • 13. Japanese Literature Throughout History And History In Japanese literature throughout history, there tends to be an idea of nature that is not nature as it really is, but is a projection of the subjective self. This is portrayed through the concept of Mappō. Mappō in Japanese Buddhism, is the age of the degeneration of the Buddha s law, when only the teachings remained, the practices were no longer pursued, and enlightenment was a mere word. This is a concept that has substance, especially when combined with mujō, the idea of impermanence. Mujō became an idea because Buddha taught that because all things within our lives and our world are constantly changing, it s important to remember that nothing is permanent. Kamo no Chōmei s writing presents a variety of elements related to Mappō, which, through the concept of mujō, shows the impermanence of nature as well as humanity fading into the vastness of nothingness. Through the traditions of simplicity, isolation, and religion, specifically Buddhism and the Lotus Sutra, Hōjōki shows this disastrous fleeting through a calm, poetic, narrative voice. This paper will argue that themes of nature are connected to the idea of the subjective self, through impermanence, and studies how Chōmei s worldview affects his perspective on nature and the natural world. • 26. Baking Soda Experiment Rockets Powered by Baking Soda and Vinegar Introduction: A chemical change can be caused by combining two compounds, such as baking soda (NaHCO3) and vinegar (CH3COOH). The change that is taking place is because of the chemical property of reactivity. When these two compounds react CO2 is produced. In this experiment we wanted to see how much baking soda, added to 10mL of vinegar, would cause a film canister rocket to shoot the farthest. I predicted that 10mL of baking soda would shoot the farthest because it would be equal to the amount of vinegar in the canister. The independent variable in this experiment was the amount of baking soda and the dependent variable was how far the lid would shoot. Materials: Paper towel Vinegar Baking Soda Film canister Goggles (eye protection) Measuring tools Methods: 1. Measure and cut 9 pieces of paper towel 10cm x 12cm 2. • 30. Dealing In The Poem By W. H. Auden The Poem was written by W.H Auden and was written in 1936. The title in itself has many connotations of sadness. The word Funeral is associated with someone dying. The word blues on the other hand is a type of Jazz that often conveys sadness. By combining the two, we can see that the author has cleverly manipulated the title into conveying sadness. The poem opens energetically, with an intensely emphasized verb Stop, a start that also suggests an ending. Certainly, much of the rest of the poem is similarly constructed on heavily accentuated verbs of command. The attitude of the poem is highly imperative. The poet gives out orders, but the instructions he issues suggest that he cannot believe that the death of the certain person has happened. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the fourth stanza the poet s agony rings out even more passionately. Here he stresses that Nature notice his grief, calling it to extinguish the stars and the moon and the sun and get rid of the ocean. He desires the world to reflect the emptiness within him left by death. Human monuments to the dead will not be adequate at best. • 32. Negative Ambition In Macbeth Negative ambition fills the minds of many people across the world. However, we are going to look at a specific example from the play Macbeth by William Shakespeare. The main character from this play is Macbeth who is struggling with an ambition to become the king of Scotland. This paper will demonstrate that Macbeth is an accurate example of negative ambition. Ambition is the desire for something and the determination to achieve that desire. Ambition can be classified in two different ways. The first, positive ambition, can be summed up as the desire to get better as a human. There are so many problems that can occur during a human s life on earth and through positive ambition one can help themselves overcome their problems. For instance if you take the situation of an individual with cancer. A majority of successful survivors of cancer have the desire to get back to normal health. To accomplish this the patients must go through a lot of pain and struggle but positive ambition can help them push through. The second classification of ambition is negative ambition. Negative ambition can be summed up as having the desire for something and the determination to achieve it but often at the personal loss of others. Many examples include murdering for a gain of power, lying to improve your wealth, or stealing to improve your lifestyle. These people all have the characteristics of ambition but are using their ambition at the cost of others. They are using their ambition for gain while taking from others. We find ambition at the heart of many scenes in the play Macbeth. In scene three we first learn of Macbeth s desire to become king. Macbeth says this, If Chance will have me king, why, chance may crown me Without my stir. (1,3, 143 144). In this quote, after Macbeth hears the witches prophecy of him becoming king, Macbeth implies that he will gladly take the throne without question. However, ambition consists of both desire and determination and Macbeth has not shown any determination until Act two scene one when he says this I go, and it is done. The bell invites me. Hear it not, Duncan, for it is a knell That summons thee to heaven or to hell. ( 2,1, 62 64). In this section of Macbeth s soliloquy, Macbeth ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Shakespeare uses the simple infinitive of to be , in the opening of the most famous soliloquy in Hamlet, or perhaps all of Shakespeare, as opposed to the more complex phrase, to live or to die . Before Hamlet, the speaker of this soliloquy, analyzes all of mankind s reasoning behind the subject of life, something both painful and long, and death, something both inevitable and muddied in mystery, he uses the simplest and shortest of infinitives. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... People lose loved ones and are forced to endure sickness and poverty, which are much more prevalent problems in life, yet Hamlet says that life is painful due to the abuses of superiors, to the insults of the arrogant, and to the pains of a once sided love. However, when Hamlet lists his problems, he is not referencing man s universal pains but the pains he feels himself from King Claudius killing his father and verbally abusing Hamlet and the unrequited love he experiences from a girl named Ophelia. In this instance, and in every other instance within the play, Hamlet isn t directly acknowledging the depression he faces, as he only hints at his sorrows, something also seen throughout the play when he pretends that his madness is part of his act of revenge on King Claudius. So, when Hamlet states that is ridiculous how people to live a life full of slings and arrows (3.1.64) and when one could simply take arms against a sea of troubles and die (3.1.67), he is, in actuality contemplating suicide, as he had referenced the troubles he, himself, faces, making his musings personal, without knowing it. The speaker is getting ready to make this transition to the next world but then the fly reappears and puts a halt to this alteration. The final stanza of this poem includes the lines, With blue, uncertain, stumbling buzz, between the light and me; and then the windows failed, and then I could not see to see. The word light in this stanza can be associated with some heavenly existence or higher power that awaits the speaker. The buzzing fly blocks her view though of where she is heading and the light that was once there is now gone.
