Open Court Observation On Criminal Cases
I chose to do my open court observation on criminal cases. Criminal cases usually involve
attorneys that try to prove their argument to the judge. I felt as though this setting would be more
interesting to sit and observe versus a civil case where you have two people trying to settle a
dispute. Its interesting to see how actual attorneys and judges act in a courtroom instead of what is
portrayed on TV. My local courthouse which is in a police station holds preliminary hearings. A
preliminary hearingis where the judge decides if there is enough evidence that there was a crime
committed and you committed a crime. If the prosecutor fails to do this, then some or all the
charges filed against you can be dismissed. There was two different parts to this process that I
saw during my observation. The first one is when the defendant waives their hearing. Then the
second being where the defendant decides to go through with the hearing. During my observation
there was about ten cases, and all but two of them followed through with the hearing. This was
very surprising to me as I watched because I couldn t understand why someone wouldn t want to
at least see if the prosecution had sufficient evidence against them. Also it doesn t even give their
lawyer a chance to argue on their behalf against the prosecution. The first formal person to walk
into the courtroom was the public defender. I watched as he called out names, and spoke briefly to
nearly every person in the room. My immediate

Nutritional Analysis Project
After completing this nutritional analysis project, it opened my eyes to how many positive and
negatives are present in my diet. To begin, one of the positives of my nutritional status is the fact
that I get enough protein through the foods I eat. For example, on October 1, I ate 6 ounces of
chicken breast, which is high in protein. Furthermore, I also have a lot of vitaminB6 and B12 in my
diet. Vitamin B12 was in the 6 ounces of meatloaf I ate on September 30. This vitamin is vital
for normal brain functioning as well. In addition, I consume enough iron in my foods. Iron is
extremely important in the body as it helps red bloods cells transport oxygen. One example of
when I consumed a lot of iron was when I ate corn flakes for breakfast all three days. On the other
hand, this project also uncovered numerous ways my diet falls short. One of these is the fact that I
did not have enough... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I only consumed 11 grams of fiber on September 29 and October 1, and 12 grams on September 30.
This falls much lower than the target intake level of 38 grams. As a result, I am going to add
more fiber to my diet. One way I plan to accomplish this is by adding flaxseed to my yogurt as a
snack. This will add 2.8 grams of dietary fiber per 1 tablespoon serving. Moreover, a final
negative is how my current sodium intake is too high. For example, it was 2953 milligrams on
October 1, when my target was to have less than 2300 milligrams. Consuming too much sodium
can cause hypertension, so I need to make a change. I can accomplish this by adding less salts to
my foods and by removing sodium rich foods in my diet. One example is in the salad dressing I
have every day for lunch. In fact, 30 grams of ranch dressing has 328 milligrams of sodium. I am
going to switch to Caesar salad dressing instead, with only 158 milligrams of

Benefits Of The Prepaid Plan
We know college can be very expensive. There are many expenses for higher education including;
tuition, room and board, books, and extra cost. That being said, there are many programs and plans
that can assist with the cost. I will discuss 529 plans, Coverdell education savings account,
American Opportunity TaxCredit, Lifetime Learning Credits, and tuition fees.
There is a 529 Plan that can help the parent start preparing for their child s college. The plan will
help families save many for future college funding. The plan is setup into two plans, saving and
prepaid. Saving plans work by investing your money in shared funds. If the family were to
choose the savings plan, it comes with different options to invest the family s money in. The
account will either increase or decrease in value based on the investment. The prepaid plan will
allow the family to pre pay all of the cost for public higher education. The prepaid plan may also be
converted for a private college. Even though contributions are not deductible, the income in the
plan is federally tax free. Therefore, the income will not be taxed when they are removed to pay
for college. The 529 plan does not have to be reported on tax return. The donor will stay in control
of the account. The account owner can withdraw funds at any time, but non qualified withdrawals
will earn income tax and a ten percent tax. Anyone can qualify for a 529 plan. There are no limits
on income, age, or yearly contribution. (В§529)

The Book Of The City Of Ladies
INTRODUCTION Historically, women were thought of as inferior in physical strength, religious
traditions, philosophical and have faced intense discrimination from a lack of legal rights and very
little independence from their husbands and society at large. In many societies, women have long
been viewed as less than fully human. Christine de Pizan in her book The Book of the City of
Ladies 1405, wrote that the oppression of women is founded on irrational prejudice, pointing out
numerous advances in society probably created by women. Under the end of the 19th century,
women were excluded from taking part in voting and politics, certain public events, education and
in many professions. By the late 19th century and the turn of the 20th century, witnessed
strengthening of the women s movement both at the local and international level, leading to an
increase in the public awareness of women s rights, women the world over were pushing for
greater equality. Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton in the United States, and the
Suffragettes led by the Pankhurts in England were among the first pioneers of the women s
movement. This was a period of much activity as women organized themselves into public and
high profile advocacy groups, campaigning for the right to vote and equality in economic and
property rights. As a result, starting from the latter half of the 1990s, the relevant national
legislation has been undergoing a process of review and important steps have been taken

Thesis On Butterfly Effect
Thesis Part One:
The butterfly effect cannot be seen
The butterfly effect endures
It is the lure of the mysterious
It seduces meaning, and leaves
When the path becomes clear
It is the lightness of the eternal Mahmoud Darwish
The potential for sensitive dependence on initial conditions, in other words, the Butterfly Effect , is
the theory Edward Lorenz introduced in 1963. This theory stated that a butterfly could flap its
wings and set air molecules in motion that, in turn, would move other air molecules which would
then move additional air molecules eventually becoming able to influence a volcano on the other
side of the planet. This seems at first something very unrealistic but has been proven true by the

If you put your mind to it, and work everyday a little for it, you will surely become successful.
Put in mind to always simplify your goals, yes a person should dream big, but should always be
realistic. If you put so many goals in front of you, be sure nothing will be achieved, after all, it is
the butterfly effect, a small change becomes a big one.
When you make a small change every day it will become a habit and you will no longer feel you
are forcing something, it will happen spontaneously. And later on you can start another small dream
of yours through another change and you will notice how these small changes add up to big
benefits over time.
These small changes always start within you with the simplest tasks in your daily routine, wake up
earlier, eat healthy, practice sports and meditation, the qualitative kind of tasks you can manage to
change and not the qualitative such as smile more and be grateful, these are sure things that a
person benefit from, but you cannot simply and suddenly decide such things, a person should

Jeffrey Dahmer, The Milwaukee Monster
Jeffrey Dahmer is one of the most well known serial killers of all time. He earned this reputation
by his sick and twisted ways of killing and preserving his victim s body parts. From organizing
bones in filing cabinets to freezing internal organs for later consumption, Dahmer proved to be a
very sick and twisted individual. Throughout this paper it will be analyzing and discussing the life
and possible diagnosis of Jeffrey Dahmer, the Milwaukee monster. Jeffrey Lionel Dahmer was
born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1960. Although Dahmer did not have a horrible childhood, it
was not an ideal one. Jeffrey s mother, Joyce Dahmer was reported to have a rough pregnancy.
Due to her complications she suffered from post partum depression, resulting in withdrawal
from Jeffrey. At the age of four he suffered from a double hernia. Although it was not a major
surgical procedure young Jeffrey was confused and alone due to the fact that no one ever
comforted and explained to him what was going on. At the age of six Jeffrey welcomed a little
brother into the world. After his brother was born Jeffrey s father got a new job and they relocated
to Ohio where Jeffrey s insecurities deepened. At the age of ten Jeffrey s parents started noticing
his interest in experimenting with dead animals. Jeffrey would ride his bike around the woods and
collect dead animals and then take them home. Once home he would do a variety of things with
them from decapitating rodents, to bleaching

Literature Review Of Literature
Review of the Literature
Introduction
A vast body of growing research indicates that culturally relevant pedagogy, including popular
culture and hip hop culture, are vital strategies for engaging urban youth with literacy in the
classroom. This review of literature examines, first and foremost, the plight of marginalized, urban
youth through the lenses of Critical Race Theory (CRT) and Paulo Freire s co constructivist Critical
Pedagogy. Freire s seminal text, Pedagogy of the Oppressed (1970), is of paramount importance, as
are the many peer reviewed, scholarly journal articles written about CRT and its constituent tenets
or themes. An analysis of several articles that magnify the often hidden or ignored continuation of
racial segregation in American schools and the historic Supreme Court Decision of Brown vs.
Board of Education are also featured in this review. Many studies, in the form of journal articles,
investigating the positive effects of culturally relevant pedagogy through the implementation of
popular culture and hip hop culture also play a significant role in the discussion. Finally, a number
of contemporary books add weight to the discussion with specialized, in depth intelligence on the
use of culturally relevant pedagogy to affect the learning of marginalized, urban students; the
therapeutic effects of hip hop and music in the classroom; and engaging distinct populations
particularly African Americanmales in classroom literacy practices.

Protecting And Preserving The Peer Review
Protecting and Preserving the Peer Review Privilege Solutions for Corporate Counsel Representing
Hospitals, Health Care Corporations, and Health Care Providers
I.INTRODUCTION
Health care providers are generally familiar with the doctor patient privilege, which protects
information exchanged between physician and patient for the purposes of rendering or receiving
health care services. The peer review privilege is similar, except that it protects communications
that occur in connection with the peer review process where health care providers review and
critique both specific and general elements of health care with the overall goal of health care
improvement. This chapter will explore what peer review is, why it needs to be protected, the ...

See id. Peer review is used to review the qualifications and credentials of health care providers to
determine whether they may practice in a particular hospital and, if so, under what parameters.
Peer review, in this regard, is also a critical part of the determination that a physician or other health
care provider should not be allowed to practice, in whole or in part.
The earliest known peer review can be traced to the American College of Surgeons. In 1918, the
College sought to standardize hospitals, organize medical staffs, and set minimum standards.
See Maureen Glabman, The Future for Peer Review, Trustee Magazine, available here. In the
first half of the twentieth century, the medical profession developed peer review as a way to
review the quality of the care rendered by physicians and surgeons. In 1952, the Joint
Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals (now the Joint Commission on Accreditation of
Healthcare Organizations, or JCAHO), began to require hospitals to perform peer review to
qualify for accreditation. See Susan O. Scheutzow, State Medical Peer Review: High Cost But
No Benefit Is it Time for a Change?, 25 AM. J.L. MED. 7, 12 13 (1999). Over the second half of
the twentieth century, medical peer review developed into the primary method of evaluating the
quality of physician services at hospitals. See id.
Today, peer review is performed in a variety of settings, such as part of the quality

English Patient Themes
The English Patient by Michael Ondaatje was recently made into a movie, 2 hours and 42
minutes of pure indulgence. The movie was rated R due to its sexuality, violence and mature
language. If you re looking for a boring, confusing book but a great movie, this is for you. Setting
the scene, the movie is filmed in Tunisia and Italy. The beautiful scenery and landscape contribute
to the feeling of the film. The themes of loveand passion draw you into it. It is clear in the film,
that the love between two people is so fierce and intimate. Ralph Fiennes plays The English Patient
very well by adapting the character s suffering, love and lust. The movie was rated 84% on Rotten
Tomatoes but I believe it deserves a lot more than that.
The scenery and landscape of Tunisia and Italy contribute to the love and romance themes of the
novel and the movie. The dryness and extreme warmth of the desert can be ironically related to the
English Patient and his burnt skin. I specifically enjoyed how they filmed the movie in the Villa to
be parallel with the original novel. The bland colours of the desert made me pay more attention to
the characters in front of it. The dominant theme, however, was love. ... Show more content on

The struggled feelings for one another in this movie are heartbreaking. The moral of the story is
that one does not choose love; it is the love the does the choosing. The English Patient did not
choose to love a married woman. Hana did not choose to love Kip or The English Patient.
However, I believe that maybe Hana did not love Kip or The English Patient. Perhaps they were
just in the right place at the right time. The affection displayed in this film portrays its feelings onto
the audiences and definitely pulls at their heartstrings. It s as though the love between two
characters is so intimate and strong that it s somewhat scary. Still, I think that Ralph Fiennes acting

Porsche s mission, vision and its reputation are clouded after the take over of VW group. VW
group oversaw the take over of other famous brands like, Bentley, Buggati and Lamborghini. Under
the new leadership and direction from the top brass, the first move was to restructure Porsche. The
restructuring saw Porsche s top executives sent to other car brands in VW group to share expertise
and Porsche s success. Replacing them are executives from other car brands, like Matthias Muller
from Audi whose main aim was to integrate Porsche into VW family, extend its product line and

b. Industry Analysis
i. Potential Entrants
The potential threat of new entrants is low as it costs high when it comes to producing a high
performance car. The barriers to entry present a low threat to Porsche when it comes to a brandthat
could immediately match and threatens Porsche s current brand and market share. The lack of
research and development, the technology that was hone throughout the years for Porsche and the
Brand recognition that was built throughout the years pose as a difficult and near impossible for
any new brand to come into the market and have such an impact.
ii. Bargaining Power of Suppliers
As Porsche makes their own engine parts for the Models the only bargaining power that could come
from is from the commodities market that deals with the raw material that Porsche needs. Only the
manufacturing of Boxster segment is produced externally. The first manufacturer of the Boxster

The Story of an Hour, by Kate Chopin Essay
The Story of an Hour is a stark display of female rejection of the norms of society. This work, by
Kate Chopin, begins with a woman going through the stages of grief for her husband s death.
For the wife, Louise Mallard, this was an awakening of a new life. This new life is cut short as
the information that led her to believe this news turns our false. Kate Chopin reveals that even
the desire for love is trumped by the need for freedom and independence, through her use of
precise diction and syntax, and symbolism. With respect to word choice, Chopin foreshadows the
idea that it was possible that Mrs. Mallard s husband was not dead at all. From the start she
describes the news as possible (79). To further show this, she chooses to use... Show more content

It is comfortable and roomy (79). These descriptors help the reader to understand the transition
she is going through. Due to the loss of her husband, she now has room to live her life, and to do
so comfortably, without the intrusion or imposition of her husband. The outside world is
described as being aquiver with the new spring life (79). She also describes the feeling of
freedom as creeping out of the sky (80). It is hard for Mrs. Mallard to accept the new feelings of
her freedom. The feeling had to creep due to the fact that her freedom was granted on the
premise of her husband s death. This feeling, however, comes out of the sky as to show the new
life promised to her, but it is still hard for her to believe that she wanted this freedom more than
love. This is further displayed by the use of the phrase monstrous joy (80). The juxtaposition of
these words shows very well the emotional state of Louise Mallard. The joy she is feeling is
something that others could call monstrous, but the prison she was in previously could never be
called joyful. Most important is the repetition of the word free (80). Muttering this under her
breath is a sign that she cannot believe what she is even saying. It is at this moment that she
realizes that she is free and can now enjoy her life as an independent person. In resisting this new
emotion Mrs. Mallard was feeling, Chopin describes her as powerless as her two white slender
hands would have been (80).

Amrith s Journey
This is a fitting title for the section I read as it helped readers understand Amrith s life and emotions
by concluding the novel with Amrith having many of his problems solved.
In my opinion, a journey is like a rollercoaster filled with ups and downs that only finishes when it
ends. Just like the novel, Amrith experiences many new things that he became quite fond of, even if
the same happiness became his misery. Nevertheless, this was only temporarily as Amrith is naГЇve
and easily jealous, thankfully over time he learned that staying ignorant does not solve his conflicts
and he must make amends on his own.
Prior to the ending, Amrith corrected his issues with his fake family and blood related family,
comprising of Niresh and his dead mother. Finally, Amrith is even rewarded with a gift, that I will
explain later, which seems realistic as opposed to Amrith and Niresh magically falling in love
during the last chapter.
Quick Summary: The last chapter was almost subtle to the point where it felt like a cliff hanger.
The conclusion made it seem as if Selvadurai plans on publishing a sequel, but that is not the case.
Regardless, the last few chapters revealed background knowledge on the mysterious death of
Amrith s parents. It explained how his mother was forced into giving up Amrith, in attempt to cure
Amrith s father from his alcohol problems. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

wondered why a mother such as Amrith s would cease to care for their own children. Now

for Amrith. The only issue was that Amrith has always been naГЇve and interpreted the situation as

Why Did The Patriots Win The Revolutionary War
On october 19, 1781 the British army surrendered at Yorktown, Virginia. Although the treaty had yet
to be signed, American independence had been accomplished. The Patriots had pulled off the most
improvable upset by defeating the most powerful military of the day. Although the British had more
troops, were highly trained, had more supplies, and a strong navy, the Patriots prevailed. Under the
leadership of George Washingtonalong with technological advancements in weaponry, aid from
foreign allies, new fighting techniques, coupled with medical innovations and an extensive spy
ring, a new nation is born. The Patriots had a very good leader to lead them. They had George

Patriots win was that the has some new technology that they learned how to use for war. They
learned how to use rifled barrels and they could shoot someone or something from 250 yards away.

Activity 1.1.2 Investigating Basic Circuits (DLB)
Introduction
What is an electrical circuit? How can you manipulate components and design a circuit that will do
what you want it to? This guided activity will introduce you to some components, tools, and
concepts that are fundamental in electronics. It will allow you to investigate and discover:
What are voltage, current, and resistance? How are they related to one another?
What are some of the basic components that make up simple circuits and what do they do?
What are the important characteristics of a circuit and how do I measure different parts of a circuit?
How do I measure voltage in a circuit?
How does the arrangement of components affect the characteristics of the circuit?
How do ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While the DMM can handle this amount of current, you must learn how to use the ammeter portion
of the DMM properly to protect it from blowing a fuse. Shorting voltage sources is dangerous and
can damage the DMM.
Part B: Series and Parallel Circuits 9. These two identical 330Ω resistors are in series with each
other. There is only one path through the circuit from the power source to the ground. In this
diagram, the power source is a 9V battery. One end of the battery has 9V of potential to do work
(positive terminal top). The other end of the battery has zero potential to do work (negative
terminal/ground bottom).
(a) Based on your observations, what would you expect the voltage read if you touched the DMM
across both R1 and R2?
(b) Due to the fact that R1 and R2 are identical, what would you guess is the voltage across each
resistor is individually? Why?
(c) We can actually replace these two resistors with one resistor that would have the same impact
on the circuit. (This theoretical resistor is called an equivalent resistor). What would the value of
this equivalent resistor have to be in Ohms (Ω)?
10. Create this series circuit on your breadboard. With both LEDs illuminated, remove one of the
LEDs from the circuit path. What happened and why?
11. You can try 3 LEDs in series but none will light up. Why do you think that is?
12. Components in a circuit can also be arranged in parallel.

Building A Real Estate Market
There are few certainties in life, but two of them are that they aren t making any more land and
people will always need a place to live. Combining these two certainties with historic low interest
rates and home values that have been appreciating in many parts of the country make investing in
real estate an attractive alternative to traditional investments. Good credit and a little cash or
leverage are all that is needed to become a real estate investor. Some investors look for short term
gains in real estate by flipping rundown houses. Cash is needed in order to make the renovations to
rehab the house. Getting a mortgage for houses that are not a primary residence can be difficult and

During the last decade, more investors have been jumping on the classic car bandwagon, buying
antiques and otherwise prized automobiles. The demand has helped push the value of classic
cars up nearly 500 percent in the decade ending in 2015, according to the Knight Franklin
Luxury Investment index. Twenty five cars have been sold for over $10 million. Eight of those
happened in 2015, including records for Jaguar ($13.2 million), Porsche ($10.1 million), and
McLaren ($13.75 million). Incidentally, the record for a classic car is from 2014 when a 1962
Ferrari 250 GTO Berlinetta fetched $38 million at auction. Why have classic cars experienced
such growth in popularity as an investment? The Internet makes it easy to determine a cars value
and has allowed more people to become savvy investors. Investing in classic cars is similar to
many other types of alternative investments like art, wine, and collectibles in that investing is a
passion. An investor does not need millions of dollars to invest in classic cars. Spending under
$20,000 is completely acceptable. Regardless of your level of investment there are a few rules
to remember when investing in classic cars: Find the best example of the vehicle possible for
your investment level Rarity drives value in classic cars so research how many of a particular
make and model exist Buy a car that you are passionate about so if the investment does not

The relationship between the existence of gall on the goldenrod and the development on the plants

This study shows that the present of the gall on the stems of goldenrod has a taller height of stems
than the ones that without galls. The averaging about 4 feet (1.2m) in height, goldenrod is a
perennial with clusters of bright yellow flowers. It has been used for centuries in the treatment of
kidney stones, urinary tract infections, a variety of other medical condition. (1) Survival probability

First of all, the existing of a gall would not impact on the development on the Goldenrod plants,
such as based on average stem height, which was the stem height is shorter than the ones are
normal by the factor of the presence of a gall. Secondly, the presence of a gall also would not
impacted the diameter of gall and in general that won t be an impact on the plants development.
Moreover, based on the result that have been collected, the Goldenrod stem was thinner than the
normal ones also by a factor of whether there was a gall or not on the plants. The presence of a
gall did not significantly affect final stem height but did slow the growth of ramets during the
period of most rapid gall growth. (3)Major errors that could occurred during this investigation was
that groups were not able to give out a confidence measurement as in a total that nine group might
have performed this observation by using their particular way, which means the data collection
might be uncertain due to the groups perform the experiment differently. On top of it, it is
important that whether the performed group used a ground as a reference point for recording the
height of stem from the plant, which would lead to the failed of the hypothesis and draw an
incorrect result at the end of this observation. Suggestion that could avoid this error occur is to

To Kill A Mockingbird Reproductive Behaviour
A recent trend in ornithology research has been to better understand how birds chose their mates
through behavioral displays. This topic has been of interests among the birding community due to
the fact that it reveals the social structure of bird groups and demonstrates the role of choice in
selecting partners. One way for females to select their copulation partners is through eavesdropping
on malemale vocal interactions as a way for females to compare different males singing behavior
and make direct comparisons between males on the basis of their performance. In order to better
understand the role eavesdropping had on partner selection among black capped chickadees the

The law differentiates between the investor and the homeowner because the investor has taken on
large improvements based on the previous state of affairs where the homeowner has not. This
means that the investor gained site specific assurance where the homeowner did not, even if they
seek out to maintain the zoning classification not only on their property, but on the whole
neighborhood. Hence, several courts have specifically held that neighbors have no eternally vested
rights in the perpetuation of an existing zoning classification (Stahl, Kenneth A). In most cases this
is why there are some neighborhoods around the metropolitan area where there are signs that read
My community is not for sale as a way of protesting. In a way this seems unfair for the communities
that must deal with new development within the area without having a say which makes most
neighbors somewhat aggravated with the city s decision making and the benefits it gives investors

property development, this is motivation for investors to form an important part of identity to help
shape communities where the property can serve as an important focus that gives meaning to
residents within society. Therefore, it is important to note that the Property and Relative Status is

The poem Barbie Doll by Marge Piercy and Suicide Note by Janice Mirikitani are both about how
two young women could no long take the pressures society placed upon them. Although the two
poems have a very different tone, language, and structure the same underlying theme exists. In both
poems the girls struggle to be perfect and to conform to the desires of others. Both women in the
poems ultimately commit suicidebecause they can no longer live with the criticism and lack of

The girl was told to diet, exercise, and use flattery to get what she wants (Piercy, 867). She tried
to conform and be everything that is expected, but eventually her good nature wore down. Being
told what and how to be from a young age will take its toll on any person especially an
impressionable teenager. Being that I have experienced these pressures, although not to the same
extent as the girl in Piercy s poem, I can safely say that young adolescents tend to be quite
multifaceted and sensitive which explains why criticism about one s appearance can damage
their morale. This girl no longer had the will to battle the burdens she was feeling and the lines So
she cut off her nose and legs and offered them up make reference to the fact that she committed
suicide (Piercy, 867). I get the feeling in the last stanza that the girl may have had some physically
altering surgery sometime before she took her life. Ironically, it is only when the young woman is
lying dead in a casket that people begin to acknowledge her beauty. The last line is a very
powerful one To every woman a happy ending (Piercy, 867). I disagree that the subject of the
poem truly had a happy ending, but I do not feel the author meant it literally either. It seems the
author means to deject the people in the girl s life who only saw her flaws and not her true beauty
and intelligence. The title Barbie Doll is appropriate because society metaphorically compares

A Savage s New World In the totalitarian country of London, the people are not subjected to war,
hate, poverty, disease and suffering. There is an abundance of wealth, leisure and pleasures, but
with utopia comes elimination of freedom and orthodox values. The people in the society are
created in factories, then put into a strict 5 class hierarchy. To take the edge off of the harshness
of reality, they take a synthetic drug called Soma and drift into blissful ignorance. When a savage
named John who becomes isolated from his indian tribe in New Mexico comes to live in utopia

Self assessment this is a form that the manager of each Head Start has to fill out to determine if
they were able to meet all their goals for the year and how can they improve in terms of safety and
stretching their budget to include more pertinent things. First they begin by doing an overview of
the year including what when well as well as things that did not go so well. Then they engage a

Summary Of What Is Education For By David Orr
When I was five years old I began school. In Kindergarden we learned basic things like letters,
numbers, and how not to be fully engulfed in flames. For some reason, 2004 was the height of
anti fire education in Missouri and before I knew how to tie my shoes I knew that if I ever was
ablaze, to cover my face, fall to my knees, and roll back and fourth. This is what my institution
placed serious value upon and because I was a student of that institution I also placed serious value
upon it. The same idea must be applied to a university s teaching of environmental sustainability.
This is discussed in David Orr s What is EducationFor? Through choosing a curriculum a university
chooses what it places value onto, by making the environment a priority it showcases to the future
generations that environmental wellness is an important responsibility for them to take ownership.
A university s job is create responsible adults. While they educate students on paying bills,
owning a home, and living away from caretakers they must also educate students on the
responsibility they have to the environment. Whose responsibility was Chernobyl? (Orr) Orr asks
to illustrate how hard it is to assign blame to environmental issues because they problems are just
so large. If everyone takes blame than everyone will strive fix troubles. Knowledge of how to do
vast and risky things has far outrun our ability to use that knowledge responsibly. (Orr) One of
Einsteins biggest regrets was the push

optimism. This is seen through Sam trying to make sure Hally has something good in his life to
remember, Hally being verbally negative about the comic books, later on physically and verbally
attacking Sam, and Sam attempting to stay calm and positive. There are not many of Hally s

Challenging the Norm of Womanhood in A Doll s House by...
Melissa Cruz said, You cannot be with someone just because you don t want to hurt him. You have
your own happiness to think about . Women have come a long way in their fight to make society
realize that a woman have rights. Those rights include more than being in charge of the house. Men
have come to realize that if the womanwasn t there to raise the kids then the men would be
atrocious. Family responsibility ends and Individual happiness begins when Nora challenges the
idea of what a wifeshould be, and what a mom should be, and what a woman should be.
In the doll s house at the beginning of the play we see Nora being classified as an obedient, money
loving, and childish wife. Nora and the women of the 19th century were treated a lot different of
what women now are used to now. In the doll s house Nora was supposed to Cook, Clean, take

than what we would say because The money in the 19 century is the man s money and woman

An Essay On The Pantheon
The Pantheon, whose name gets from the ancient Greek and signifies common to all the gods :
Pan means all , and Theon means gods , is the best preserved building from ancient Rome. Its
magnificent dome is a lasting testimony to the genius of Roman architects and as the building
stands virtually intact. The purpose of the building is not known for certain but rather the name,
porch and pediment decoration suggest a temple or something to that influence. Be that as it may,
no faction is known not of the divine beings, in this way the Pantheon may have been laid out as
a place where the emperor could show up in a setting which helped spectators to remember his
heavenly status, measure up to with other different gods of the Roman Pantheon and his idolized
emperor antecedents. The Pantheon was built on the definite site of two earlier Pantheon
structures, one commissioned by Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa (27 25 BCE) and the second by
Domitian. The first building was destroyed by a fire in 80 CE and the second building was struck
by lightning in 110 CE and again... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Peter s (whose dome is smaller), and the Pantheon s roof was stripped of bronze for use in
Bernini s baldacchino in St. Peter s. In 1563, the bronze doors were restored. Additionally, in
1626 CE Pope Urban VIII removed the greater part of the bronze girders from the porch roof and
recast the metal into 80 canons for the city s Castel Sant Angelo. The presence of these girders
suggests that the porch roof initially had overwhelming marble tiles. In spite of these progressions
the Pantheon is one of the best preserved ancient monuments on the world, despite everything it
still has an important function and status today as inside of it are tombs of the first two kings of
Italy, Vittorio Emanuele II and Umberto I. (from 1870 1946 CE), and another notable tomb is that

Book Report On Eric Ross
Today I was finally granted a day off from work. The first place I knew I would head, after
sleeping in, would be to the coffee house down on 1st Avenue. The leaves were just starting to fall
outside. Soon winter would be here.
The smell of fresh brewed coffee invaded my nose as I stepped inside the door. I walked up to the
counter and viewed the numerous amount of tasty treats they had on display today. I ordered a
double chocolate muffin with a caramel latte and then sat down on my most loved couch with my
sketchbook and pencils.
This couch had a lot of memories. Memories of me planning the kill and over analyzing every
aspect of it to the memories of me and him cuddling on this couch to a cup of coffee and a good
book.

I decided I would do a little research on him.
How could I be so oblivious? The signs were all there, and I was so blind to them. I overwhelmed
with the feeling of being used and manipulated. He was the man of my dreams till now.
A tear trickled down my cheek as I read the article on some of his history. It wasn t a tear of
complete sadness. This tear was a mixture of anger, sorrow and desperation.
Little did I know, he had been married for three years to the woman who gave birth to his child 12
years prior.
After more digging, I came across an article about his wife. A year after they got married, they
found her dead in the bathroom of his million dollar mansion. She had committed suicide by slitting
her veins open on her wrists. She had left a note expressing her feelings about him straying the path
from their marriage.
So he isn t cheating now, but he has before. Why is it such a big deal now that he can t introduce
me to his family? Maybe even just his daughter?
It was time for Eric and I to have a chat about what was going on between us. So I decided that the
next day I would pay him a visit.
*************
I made sure I had on my most form fitting outfit that would accentuate my curves. He ll be putty in
my hands. On my way to work I started running through ways I was going to bring it up. Maybe by
just asking him about past relationships would be the best way? Or what he thought about kids
someday? Eventually

Auditory System Papers
The Auditory System
The Auditory System is an incredibly complex organ system, because it not only allows us to
hear, but it also allows us to keep a sense of balance. The Auditory sound travels thru the air in the
form of sound waves. Our ears detect these sound waves and relays them to the brain, The Auditory
System is a complex system that transmits the sound waves into electric pulses that our brain can
understand as sound. The Auditory System is composed of 3 different parts, the Inner, Middle, and
Outer Ear.
The Outer Ear is split into two components, the Pinna and the Tympanic cavity. The Pinna is the
fatty cartilage that is visible on both sides of the head. The Pinna s main function is to capture
sound waves and redirect them towards the ear canal, but to also protect the tympanic cavity. The
Ear Canal functions as an entryway for sound waves. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The inner ear consists of a complex series of tubes, running through the temporal bone of the skull.
Inside these tubes are a lot of smaller, more fragile tubes. The vestibular system is the region of the
inner ear where the semicircular canals converge, close to the cochlea. The vestibular system works
with the visual system to keep objects in view when the head is moved. Joint and muscle receptors
are also important in maintaining balance. The brain receives, interprets, and processes the
information from all these systems to create the sensation of balance. The Inner ear is where the
vibrations from sound waves turned into electric pulses that our brains can understand as sound.
The cochlea is responsible for turning the vibrations into electric pulses, in a process called
transduction. When the footplate of the stapes connects to the oval window, it causes the perilymph
to move. The cochlea propagates these mechanical signals as waves in the fluid and membranes,
and then converts them to nerve impulses which are transmitted to the

The Black, And Curly
Dark, matted hair spiraled from his head into several gelled angles, almost hiding his closed
eyes. His lashes were an unnatural black, and curly, but not quite feminine. A small stubble
showed that he was in need of a shave. His skin was a soft mocha color while his cloths blared in
a difficult contrast. He was obviously in a struggle when it all happened, but his face seemed
unharmed. The cuffs of his collared shirt were ripped off, revealing scars and bruises. He couldn t
have been any older than a high school student.
Kile felt slightly intimidated by his looks. No more being the most handsome. Wait, that was
stupid! He is kidnapped, this kid is kidnapped, now this guy! And what does he do? Worry that he
isn t the pretty boy that he had clung on to for most of his life. Now he just felt bad. Kile s almost
illuminating eyes watched Vincent as he too, was fairly curious of this new kidnap ie. If that was
even a thing .
The one responsible for all this kidnapping stood back and watched them with crossed arms and
his back against a near by wall. His new special was certainly a different one. He found him most
intriguing. Obviously the young man had Latino origins of sort, but he didn t sound it. When he

The Transatlantic Slave Trade And The United States
My ancestors, along with many other African Americans living in society today are decedents of
African slaves. I can remember as far back as age 5 listening to the elders in my family talk about
slavery. The word slavery originated when millions of African men and women were forcible taken
from their families and the familiar surroundings of their African villages. Brought here to an
unfamiliar environment and forced to work on plantations in different parts of the United States,
usually from sun up to sun down. the transatlantic slave trade formally began in 1518, when King
Charles I of Spain sanctioned the direct importation of Africans to his colonies in the America. The

Whippings, executions, beatings, and rape. all of these were common humiliations suffered by
slaves. In reality, treatment of slaves ranged from mild to cruel and sadistic. Under slavery, slave
owners, controlled, and sold entire families of slaves. Slave owners might decide to sell families or
family members for profit, as punishment, or to pay debts. Slave owners also gave slaves away
to grown children or other family members as wedding gifts. Slave children were considered
ready to work and leave home once they were 12 14 years old. Darker skinned slaves worked in
the fields, while lighter skinned slaves worked as house servants and had better clothing, food, and
housing.
Slaves were forbidding from reading or writing so they adopted a strong oral tradition of expression
through songs, prayers, music, and story telling. This allowed many slaves to feel a sense of
cultural connection the home of their origin. this provided them a way of educate the younger
generation on the customs, cultures and traditions. Growing up in a multigenerational household
that included extended family members I learned how important that family/kinship bond is in
providing moral and psychological support to a child. Although, they were captured and forcibly

practices that were common in their homeland. The musical rhythms, drumming, shouting,

Biological Theories Of Positivist Criminology
In this great big world of science, a theory is not only a conscience thought it is a reality of one s
illusion for describing an idea a guess of something. A theory presents a concept or idea that is
testable. The term theory is used with surprising frequency in everyday language. It is often used
in to mean a guess, hunch, or supposition. (Cherry, 2017). Theories are applied to give an example
in psychologyto comprehend the behaviors, feelings, and the thoughts of humans.
The main thought behind positivist criminology is that individuals, who commit crimes, are born
that way and not made into lawbreakers; at the end of the day, it is the idea of the individual, which
decision is in criminal competence. Also, the positive criminologist ... Show more content on

This theory was started by Sigmund Freud, the originator of this psychoanalytic theory.
Psychoanalytic theories of crime causation are associated with the work of Sigmund Freud (1856
1939) and his followers. Freud did not theorize much about behavior per se, but a theory of crime
causation can be inferred from his more general theory of human behavior and its disorders (Bohm
Vogel, 2011, p 55). It is suitable to say Freud felt that human behavior, including brutal behavior,
was the result of oblivious powers working inside the human mind. Freud likewise felt that early
adolescence encounters profoundly affected youthful and grown up behavior.
In essence, positivism believes that the criminal is neither responsible nor accountable for their
actions as they were a victim of circumstance. Biological positivism attributes criminal tendencies to
physical or mental characteristics. Psychological positivism credited psychological dynamics
predisposing an individual to engage in criminal acts (Bernstein, 2009).

undermines this relationship and can cause harm to patients for example by making them
unwilling to seek help in the future. The GP in case above acted dishonestly because he believed

Service Quality Service quality is a comparison of expectations with perfomance. A business with
high service quality will meet customer needs whilst remaining economically competitive. The best
way to measure the user satisfaction is to assess the relationship between customersatisfaction and
servicequality. Service quality has different definitions. To what extent a service meets customers
needs or expectations is called service quality. Service quality is the difference between customers
expectations of service and perceived service (Parasuraman, Zeithaml, and Berry, 1985).... Show

The relationships between the service events, the customer s prior and post perceptions, and

composed of a preference for specific and measurable dimensions; the attributes, attribute
performances, and consequences linked to goals for use situations. Desired value, in turn, guides
customers when they form perceptions of how well or poorly a product has performed in the use

(Body Paragraph: General Information on self devaluation) Now that we are better able to
comprehend self stigma we can focus on the affects that impact patients lives negatively. It is
imperative to note that the discrimination of schizophrenic persons gives birth to self
devaluation. With that said, schizophrenic persons who experience discrimination in his or her
life will feel distant from society, similar to being an outcast or a black sheep. This may be the
reason why self stigma generates lower self esteem and lower self efficacy which drastically
lowers quality of life. In addition, self devaluation leads to a decreased readiness to change and an
increased declination of treatment within the behavior of patients. By increasing our knowledge on
the subject and increasing awareness we can combat internalized stigma. (Body Paragraph:
Study(s) done examining self devaluation) To bring about awareness would require concrete
evidence which was done by generating studies that examines self devaluation over time. In one
study, researchers applied a kernel smoothing method on their cross sectional sample. The purpose
of kernel smoothing was to find the average of patient reported outcomes (PROs) due to
circumstances such as varying recording dates and self stigma scores. From the PROs

As I ve stressed in the past, in order to get to a point where you have a healthy flow of new clients
and a substantial increase income, you need to have several effective marketing systems in place
that automatically generate new calls to your office.
If you want to get to a point where your clients are referring good quality cases to your office, it is
imperative that you put this process in place. If you don t feel as though you have the time or the
resources to fully implement the process, you should still immediately put the process in place for

It s important that you understand that it s okay for you to give certain clients premium service

Symptoms And Treatment Of Postoperative Surgery
Introduction
Most of patients are hoping to see well without spectacle or contact lenses. So in last years the
refractive surgery increased in patients dissatisfied with spectacles and contact lenses either due to
quality of vision, cosmetic appearance or difficulties in contact lenses wearing and its
complications. corneal surgeries like corneal ablation ( photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) and
laser assisted in situ keratomileusis LASIK) and different types of phakic intraocular lens (PIOL)
implantation either in the anterior or posterior chamber and the anterior chamber either iris claw or
angle fixation IOL aim to correct s refractive errors in myopic patients [1,2].
Corneal surgeries, such as photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) and LASIK, have many limitations
and contraindications especially for the correction of high refractive errors. Postoperative ectasia
which is a major problem can occur with removing of too much corneal tissue to correct high
myopia with the laser. Night bad quality vision and dry eye complaints may be transient or
permanent symptoms which may cause dissatisfaction for refractive patients. Due to these
limitations and complications, indications for corneal refractive surgery have narrowed [3 6].
As many patients with myopia unsuitable for LASIK the Intraocular refractive procedures may be
a good alternative: high degrees of ametropia thin corneas and keratoconus suspect can be corrected,
more stable refraction, better visual quality in day and night

  • 2. Open Court Observation On Criminal Cases I chose to do my open court observation on criminal cases. Criminal cases usually involve attorneys that try to prove their argument to the judge. I felt as though this setting would be more interesting to sit and observe versus a civil case where you have two people trying to settle a dispute. Its interesting to see how actual attorneys and judges act in a courtroom instead of what is portrayed on TV. My local courthouse which is in a police station holds preliminary hearings. A preliminary hearingis where the judge decides if there is enough evidence that there was a crime committed and you committed a crime. If the prosecutor fails to do this, then some or all the charges filed against you can be dismissed. There was two different parts to this process that I saw during my observation. The first one is when the defendant waives their hearing. Then the second being where the defendant decides to go through with the hearing. During my observation there was about ten cases, and all but two of them followed through with the hearing. This was very surprising to me as I watched because I couldn t understand why someone wouldn t want to at least see if the prosecution had sufficient evidence against them. Also it doesn t even give their lawyer a chance to argue on their behalf against the prosecution. The first formal person to walk into the courtroom was the public defender. I watched as he called out names, and spoke briefly to nearly every person in the room. My immediate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Nutritional Analysis Project After completing this nutritional analysis project, it opened my eyes to how many positive and negatives are present in my diet. To begin, one of the positives of my nutritional status is the fact that I get enough protein through the foods I eat. For example, on October 1, I ate 6 ounces of chicken breast, which is high in protein. Furthermore, I also have a lot of vitaminB6 and B12 in my diet. Vitamin B12 was in the 6 ounces of meatloaf I ate on September 30. This vitamin is vital for normal brain functioning as well. In addition, I consume enough iron in my foods. Iron is extremely important in the body as it helps red bloods cells transport oxygen. One example of when I consumed a lot of iron was when I ate corn flakes for breakfast all three days. On the other hand, this project also uncovered numerous ways my diet falls short. One of these is the fact that I did not have enough... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I only consumed 11 grams of fiber on September 29 and October 1, and 12 grams on September 30. This falls much lower than the target intake level of 38 grams. As a result, I am going to add more fiber to my diet. One way I plan to accomplish this is by adding flaxseed to my yogurt as a snack. This will add 2.8 grams of dietary fiber per 1 tablespoon serving. Moreover, a final negative is how my current sodium intake is too high. For example, it was 2953 milligrams on October 1, when my target was to have less than 2300 milligrams. Consuming too much sodium can cause hypertension, so I need to make a change. I can accomplish this by adding less salts to my foods and by removing sodium rich foods in my diet. One example is in the salad dressing I have every day for lunch. In fact, 30 grams of ranch dressing has 328 milligrams of sodium. I am going to switch to Caesar salad dressing instead, with only 158 milligrams of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Benefits Of The Prepaid Plan We know college can be very expensive. There are many expenses for higher education including; tuition, room and board, books, and extra cost. That being said, there are many programs and plans that can assist with the cost. I will discuss 529 plans, Coverdell education savings account, American Opportunity TaxCredit, Lifetime Learning Credits, and tuition fees. There is a 529 Plan that can help the parent start preparing for their child s college. The plan will help families save many for future college funding. The plan is setup into two plans, saving and prepaid. Saving plans work by investing your money in shared funds. If the family were to choose the savings plan, it comes with different options to invest the family s money in. The account will either increase or decrease in value based on the investment. The prepaid plan will allow the family to pre pay all of the cost for public higher education. The prepaid plan may also be converted for a private college. Even though contributions are not deductible, the income in the plan is federally tax free. Therefore, the income will not be taxed when they are removed to pay for college. The 529 plan does not have to be reported on tax return. The donor will stay in control of the account. The account owner can withdraw funds at any time, but non qualified withdrawals will earn income tax and a ten percent tax. Anyone can qualify for a 529 plan. There are no limits on income, age, or yearly contribution. (В§529) Coverdell ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Book Of The City Of Ladies INTRODUCTION Historically, women were thought of as inferior in physical strength, religious traditions, philosophical and have faced intense discrimination from a lack of legal rights and very little independence from their husbands and society at large. In many societies, women have long been viewed as less than fully human. Christine de Pizan in her book The Book of the City of Ladies 1405, wrote that the oppression of women is founded on irrational prejudice, pointing out numerous advances in society probably created by women. Under the end of the 19th century, women were excluded from taking part in voting and politics, certain public events, education and in many professions. By the late 19th century and the turn of the 20th century, witnessed strengthening of the women s movement both at the local and international level, leading to an increase in the public awareness of women s rights, women the world over were pushing for greater equality. Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton in the United States, and the Suffragettes led by the Pankhurts in England were among the first pioneers of the women s movement. This was a period of much activity as women organized themselves into public and high profile advocacy groups, campaigning for the right to vote and equality in economic and property rights. As a result, starting from the latter half of the 1990s, the relevant national legislation has been undergoing a process of review and important steps have been taken ... • 11. Literature Review Of Literature Review of the Literature Introduction A vast body of growing research indicates that culturally relevant pedagogy, including popular culture and hip hop culture, are vital strategies for engaging urban youth with literacy in the classroom. This review of literature examines, first and foremost, the plight of marginalized, urban youth through the lenses of Critical Race Theory (CRT) and Paulo Freire s co constructivist Critical Pedagogy. Freire s seminal text, Pedagogy of the Oppressed (1970), is of paramount importance, as are the many peer reviewed, scholarly journal articles written about CRT and its constituent tenets or themes. An analysis of several articles that magnify the often hidden or ignored continuation of racial segregation in American schools and the historic Supreme Court Decision of Brown vs. Board of Education are also featured in this review. Many studies, in the form of journal articles, investigating the positive effects of culturally relevant pedagogy through the implementation of popular culture and hip hop culture also play a significant role in the discussion. Finally, a number of contemporary books add weight to the discussion with specialized, in depth intelligence on the use of culturally relevant pedagogy to affect the learning of marginalized, urban students; the therapeutic effects of hip hop and music in the classroom; and engaging distinct populations particularly African Americanmales in classroom literacy practices. Protecting And Preserving The Peer Review Protecting and Preserving the Peer Review Privilege Solutions for Corporate Counsel Representing Hospitals, Health Care Corporations, and Health Care Providers I.INTRODUCTION Health care providers are generally familiar with the doctor patient privilege, which protects information exchanged between physician and patient for the purposes of rendering or receiving health care services. The peer review privilege is similar, except that it protects communications that occur in connection with the peer review process where health care providers review and critique both specific and general elements of health care with the overall goal of health care improvement. Peer review is used to review the qualifications and credentials of health care providers to determine whether they may practice in a particular hospital and, if so, under what parameters. Peer review, in this regard, is also a critical part of the determination that a physician or other health care provider should not be allowed to practice, in whole or in part. The earliest known peer review can be traced to the American College of Surgeons. In 1918, the College sought to standardize hospitals, organize medical staffs, and set minimum standards. See Maureen Glabman, The Future for Peer Review, Trustee Magazine, available here. In the first half of the twentieth century, the medical profession developed peer review as a way to review the quality of the care rendered by physicians and surgeons. In 1952, the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals (now the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, or JCAHO), began to require hospitals to perform peer review to qualify for accreditation. See Susan O. Scheutzow, State Medical Peer Review: High Cost But No Benefit Is it Time for a Change?, 25 AM. J.L. MED. 7, 12 13 (1999). The movie was rated R due to its sexuality, violence and mature language. If you re looking for a boring, confusing book but a great movie, this is for you. Setting the scene, the movie is filmed in Tunisia and Italy. The beautiful scenery and landscape contribute to the feeling of the film. The themes of loveand passion draw you into it. It is clear in the film, that the love between two people is so fierce and intimate. Ralph Fiennes plays The English Patient very well by adapting the character s suffering, love and lust. The movie was rated 84% on Rotten Tomatoes but I believe it deserves a lot more than that. The scenery and landscape of Tunisia and Italy contribute to the love and romance themes of the novel and the movie. The dryness and extreme warmth of the desert can be ironically related to the English Patient and his burnt skin. I specifically enjoyed how they filmed the movie in the Villa to be parallel with the original novel. The bland colours of the desert made me pay more attention to the characters in front of it. The dominant theme, however, was love. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The struggled feelings for one another in this movie are heartbreaking. This work, by Kate Chopin, begins with a woman going through the stages of grief for her husband s death. For the wife, Louise Mallard, this was an awakening of a new life. This new life is cut short as the information that led her to believe this news turns our false. Kate Chopin reveals that even the desire for love is trumped by the need for freedom and independence, through her use of precise diction and syntax, and symbolism. With respect to word choice, Chopin foreshadows the idea that it was possible that Mrs. Mallard s husband was not dead at all. From the start she describes the news as possible (79). These descriptors help the reader to understand the transition she is going through. Due to the loss of her husband, she now has room to live her life, and to do so comfortably, without the intrusion or imposition of her husband. The outside world is described as being aquiver with the new spring life (79). She also describes the feeling of freedom as creeping out of the sky (80). It is hard for Mrs. Mallard to accept the new feelings of her freedom. The feeling had to creep due to the fact that her freedom was granted on the premise of her husband s death. This feeling, however, comes out of the sky as to show the new life promised to her, but it is still hard for her to believe that she wanted this freedom more than love. This is further displayed by the use of the phrase monstrous joy (80). The juxtaposition of these words shows very well the emotional state of Louise Mallard. The joy she is feeling is something that others could call monstrous, but the prison she was in previously could never be called joyful. Most important is the repetition of the word free (80). Muttering this under her breath is a sign that she cannot believe what she is even saying. It is at this moment that she realizes that she is free and can now enjoy her life as an independent person. In resisting this new emotion Mrs. Mallard was feeling, Chopin describes her as powerless as her two white slender hands would have been (80). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Amrith s Journey This is a fitting title for the section I read as it helped readers understand Amrith s life and emotions by concluding the novel with Amrith having many of his problems solved. In my opinion, a journey is like a rollercoaster filled with ups and downs that only finishes when it ends. Just like the novel, Amrith experiences many new things that he became quite fond of, even if the same happiness became his misery. Nevertheless, this was only temporarily as Amrith is naГЇve and easily jealous, thankfully over time he learned that staying ignorant does not solve his conflicts and he must make amends on his own. Prior to the ending, Amrith corrected his issues with his fake family and blood related family, comprising of Niresh and his dead mother. Finally, Amrith is even rewarded with a gift, that I will explain later, which seems realistic as opposed to Amrith and Niresh magically falling in love during the last chapter. Quick Summary: The last chapter was almost subtle to the point where it felt like a cliff hanger. The conclusion made it seem as if Selvadurai plans on publishing a sequel, but that is not the case. There is only one path through the circuit from the power source to the ground. In this diagram, the power source is a 9V battery. One end of the battery has 9V of potential to do work (positive terminal top). The other end of the battery has zero potential to do work (negative terminal/ground bottom). (a) Based on your observations, what would you expect the voltage read if you touched the DMM across both R1 and R2? (b) Due to the fact that R1 and R2 are identical, what would you guess is the voltage across each resistor is individually? Why? (c) We can actually replace these two resistors with one resistor that would have the same impact on the circuit. (This theoretical resistor is called an equivalent resistor). What would the value of this equivalent resistor have to be in Ohms (Ω)? 10. Create this series circuit on your breadboard. With both LEDs illuminated, remove one of the LEDs from the circuit path. For some reason, 2004 was the height of anti fire education in Missouri and before I knew how to tie my shoes I knew that if I ever was ablaze, to cover my face, fall to my knees, and roll back and fourth. This is what my institution placed serious value upon and because I was a student of that institution I also placed serious value upon it. The same idea must be applied to a university s teaching of environmental sustainability. This is discussed in David Orr s What is EducationFor? Through choosing a curriculum a university chooses what it places value onto, by making the environment a priority it showcases to the future generations that environmental wellness is an important responsibility for them to take ownership. A university s job is create responsible adults. While they educate students on paying bills, owning a home, and living away from caretakers they must also educate students on the responsibility they have to the environment. Whose responsibility was Chernobyl? (Orr) Orr asks to illustrate how hard it is to assign blame to environmental issues because they problems are just so large. Women have come a long way in their fight to make society realize that a woman have rights. Those rights include more than being in charge of the house. Men have come to realize that if the womanwasn t there to raise the kids then the men would be atrocious. Family responsibility ends and Individual happiness begins when Nora challenges the idea of what a wifeshould be, and what a mom should be, and what a woman should be. In the doll s house at the beginning of the play we see Nora being classified as an obedient, money loving, and childish wife.
