Crafting an essay on the topic of "List of Compare and Contrast Essay Topics" can present its
own set of challenges. The difficulty lies not in the act of comparing and contrasting itself, but
rather in curating a comprehensive and engaging list that caters to various interests and sparks
meaningful discussions.
To begin with, researching and gathering a diverse range of subjects that can be effectively
compared and contrasted requires careful consideration. It demands a thorough understanding of
the chosen topics and the ability to discern their similarities and differences. This process
necessitates time and effort, as finding the right balance is crucial to maintaining the essay's
coherence and relevance.
Furthermore, organizing the selected topics in a logical and structured manner poses another
layer of complexity. The essay should flow seamlessly, guiding the reader through thoughtful
comparisons while highlighting the distinctive aspects of each subject. Striking this balance
requires a keen sense of composition and an adept command of language to articulate complex
ideas with clarity.
Additionally, keeping the content engaging and informative is essential to captivate the reader's
interest. It involves weaving a narrative that not only outlines the points of comparison but also
offers insightful analyses. Achieving this balance demands creativity and a deep understanding
of the subject matter, ensuring that the essay is not merely a list but an intellectual exploration
that stimulates thought.
In conclusion, constructing a compare and contrast essay on the topic of "List of Compare and
Contrast Essay Topics" is a task that demands a combination of research skills, analytical

The Hidden Truth about Breatfeeding or Formula
Rocket Science. Breastfeeding makes babies smarter. The controversy of
breastfeeding and the use is breast milk substitutes for infant formula has been
going on for years now. In the past there has been facts proving that infant formula
has caused illness and deaths worldwide. I see this type of strife on busses,
billboards, and the social media. It has caught my attention to conduct a survey
and see how many women breastfeed, to see the quantity of women that do care
for. I have set up a survey of a sample of a 100 mothers and asked two questions if
you have breastfeed or if you have not? I had attached a second section asking if
the mother is married or single, attending college or not, and their age. This survey
was done by paper, interviews, and online. I choose different type of women from
different type of ethnicity ad places like relatives, friends, school, coworkers, and
random people from social media. Low percentage of mother s breastfeed. The
first question the participant mothers were asked was if they have breastfeed? As
shown on Figure 1.1, the results revealed that only 15% of women in the study
breastfeed their babies. I was very shocked of the low percentage. This question is
the conclusion to my research because I m trying to figure out why women don t
breastfeed. The women that were married and not working or only working part time
tend to breastfeed. As it is rare for women to be married and only focusing on the
household, the percentage of
Guinea Pig Cage Analysis
How To Clean Your Guinea Pig s Cage Do you own guinea pigs? If you do or are
going to, then you probably know that their cage must be cleaned. If you don t
know how to, that is ok. Raed these few paragraphs on how to do so. Trust me, I
have had guinea pigs for over a year. I know that after you clean them, it is all
worth it. To start, you should remove all houses, food bowls, and water holders
from cage. You should then take the litter box outside. Dump all contents into the
dump. Wipe down the litter box and lay a thick layer of newspaper in the litter box.
Dump a couple handfuls of pine shavings in the litter box, and make sure to leave
room for the food bowl. Take it back inside and put it back where it was. Next, you

The Importance Of A Career In Computer Engineering
Ever since the seventh grade I was always interested in building a computer. All my
friends were playing videogames on their computers and, so I wanted to build one.
They were way too expensive, so I never got the chance. I enjoy fixing computers
and helping my family with their technical issues. Everything is run by electronics
these days, so I might as well get good at using them and seeing how they work.
In the career field of engineering, there is a broad field and offers several alternative
career paths. Those interested in working with engineers and developers to create the
code for software programs and systems should consider a career in computer
programming. After reviewing plans and operational diagrams from software
developers, programmers use specialized tools and programming languages to
produce the finished product. They also analyze and test existing products to identify
and repair errors ( Alternative Careers ).
Computer hardware engineer is another possible career route in this industry. As the
name implies, this career focuses on creating, improving, and evaluating the various
parts that make up the computers and computer systems such as routers, memory
boards, central processing units, video sound cards, network components, etc. More
than likely working in a laboratory building, testing ideas and the involvement in the
manufacturing or the installing aspect of this industry. However, due to industry
focus on advancing software, the BLS projected that
James Owens Research Paper
James Owens was born on September 12, 1913. He lived in Alabama until he was
nine years old, then his family moved to Cleveland, Ohio. In Ohio, James new
teacher could not understand him because of his southern accent. When he told her
his name, she thought he had said Jesse, so from then on people called him Jesse.
(footnote) As a kid, Jesse loved to run. He started track in middle school where he
continued the sport throughout high schooland in college. He attended the prestigious
Ohio State University, where he found success on the track team.
When it came time to leave for Berlin, some thought Owens should not participate
in the Olympics because of Adolf Hitler. However, Owens did not let Hitler get in
the way of competing in the 1936 Olympic Games. Owens stunned the world as he
took home four gold medals. With a time of 10.3 seconds, Owens won his first
gold medal in the 100 meter dash. In the 200 meter dash we won gold with a time
of, 20.7 seconds. Owens leaped 25 feet and 9 3/16 inches for the gold medal in the
long jump. Owens, defeated Luz Long, a german, in the Long Jump. The fourth
gold medal that Owens won came in the 4x100 sprint relay. Owens, along with

Be that as it may, one person in particular seemed irritated by Owens success Adolf
Hitler. Hitler refused to shake Owens hand after he won gold, but he did shake the
German athletes hands. Hitler found that America letting an African American
represent their country to be sickening. African Americans did not fit Hitler s idea
of an aryan race. Even knowing Hitler disliked him and snubbed his wins, Owens
did not say any fallacious about Hitler during the Games. In the end, Hitler himself
could not stop Owens from leaving Berlin with four gold medals and a newfound
Budget Management Analysis Essay
Budget Management Analysis
Budget Management Analysis
A budget is a tool that helps managers to ensure that the required resources are
obtained and used effectively and efficiently as the organization moves towards
achievement of its objectives. A budget is stated in terms of money and is usually
made for one year depending either on the prior year s budget or on existing programs
(Cleverly amp; Cameron, 2007, p. 330). Creating a working budget is a very
difficult undertaking, and for the budget to be functional, an organization must stick
to the budget very closely. No matter how closely a budget is followed, there will be
variances. Organizations can expect such variances and be able to work such
situations into budgetary ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Efficiency variance defines the difference between the resources used for the project
and the estimated output on the budget. Managers wanting to assess their
organizational performance use efficiency measures for comparison (Cleverly amp;
Cameron, 2007, p. 331). Finally, capacity variance describes the difference between
the time spent working and the estimated time of the budget. The difference between
the budget and the total hours worked form the equation (Baker amp; Baker, 2006, p.
135).
Strategies to Align Results with Expectations
Financial plans are based on the perception of the budget, expenses, and the revenue
experienced annually. Most of the attention is based on strategic management, like
priority budget or long term planning. Several techniques can be used to manage
finances efficiently. One of the techniques, cash flow assessment includes analysis of
the budget variance. Cash flow usually tracks income against the amount spent. This
often offers the discernment of the organization to meet its obligations without
exploiting its reserves (Baker amp; Baker, 2006, p. 137). Cash flows indicate the
patterns that could have an impact on long term position of the organization. Several
models of cash flow are applicable. Investment management is one model that helps
determine the amount of money an organization has for investment and the amount
to be left liquid for circulation. Sizing cash balance is used
Essay Olaudah Equiano
Olaudah Equiano In 1745, Olaudah Equiano was born in a small village in
Isseke,Nigeria. His father was one of the chiefs in the village. At age eleven
Equiano and his sister were kidnapped by two men and a woman never to see his
home or parents again. After being kidnapped he was hiked across part of Africa
untill he arrived at the coast where he was loaded onto a slave ship. While crossing
the Atlantic to Barbados onboard the slave ship he and his countrymen were
subject to horrors you could hardly imagine. Equiano tells about the horrors and
torture slaves face not only on the slave ship but also on plantations and many other
aspects of a slave s life. Equiano experienced almost all parts of a slave s existence.

With the many people in such a small place and the humidity, the temperature
below decks was unbearable. There was no fresh air, nothing but the nasty stench
of the latrines and peoples body odor. The air became unfit to breathe and almost
suffocated them. There were children that would fall into the latrines and almost
drowned. Many slaves would get sick and die in this terrible place and never make
it to Barbados. Shrieks of women and the groans of the dying made the whole
scene a nightmare. This caused some slaves to jump off the ship and drown
themselves. The first time he was flogged was on the ship when he refused to eat.
Two white men tied his feet. One white man held his hands while the other flogged
or whipped him. Prisoners were severely cut and flogged for hours for trying to
jump off the ship. He had never seen such savage brutal cruelty among people.
When the ship reached Barbados the slaves were put into a pin like animals. At the
sound of a drum, buyers rushed out to pick out the slaves they wanted to buy. Then
no matter if they were friends, husbands, wives, brothers, or sisters they were
separated and never to see each other again. Equiano was sold and worked on a
plantation in Virginia County, weeding grass and moving stones. On this plantation
he saw the black slave cook with some kind of iron muzzle that locked her mouth
shut so she could hardly speak. I guess this contraption was put on her
Stanislavski s Impact On Modern Theatre Direction
Although the history of theatre has been characterized by many great directors,
none should be considered as influential as Constantin Stanislavski. At a time when
society frowned upon members of a high social class pursuing careers in theatre,
Stanislavski maintained the courage to follow his dreams. This paper will begin with
a discussion of the early years of Stanislavski s life, followed by a review of
Stanislavski s career in theatre. Finally, the paper will discuss Stanislavski s impact
on modern theatre direction and why he is viewed as one of the most influential
directors in the history of theatrical performance. Born in 1863 to a wealthy family in
Moscow, Constantin Stanislavskiwas originally born Constantin Sergeievich
Alekseiev (1). At the time, actors and other theatrical performers were viewed in
Russia as low class citizens given that many of them were recently freed from
slavery and were trained as actors to entertain the nobility. Due to his family s high
social status and financial success, Stanislavski often attended theatrical
performances and other performing arts shows as entertainment. As a result,
Stanislavski discovered his passion for the performing arts, specifically the circus,
the ballet, and puppetry (1). However, it was not until Stanislavski s father, Sergei,
was elected as head of the merchant class in 1877 (1) that Stanislavski truly began
his passion and career in theatre. Upon election as head of the merchant class of

Technology And Technology Essay
I do not agree with the APP s recommendation of having only two hours of daily
entertainment and screen time for kids and teens. I believe that there should at least
be 4 6 hours of recommended technology use each day. There are multiple reasonings
to have a 4 6 hours of electronic time. People say that technologyincreases the way
people do things at their schools, jobs, and at home. Technology helps people at
school because many schools are now having more technology to help the kids
understand. Technology also helps people at home, it helps them complete tasks
throughout the house. Electronics help people at work because every day most jobs
use computers and they help us complete our jobs. Adolescents can become more
educated with a touch of a couple of buttons!
Technology helps us in many ways, from setting reminders for doctors appointments
to vacuuming your whole house, we rely on technology for a lot of different things.
There are many benefits to technology too. In the article, the author says, technology
has educational benefits such as with learning a new language, helping young kids
learn how to count, and help students that are struggling with a subject get extra help.
Technology also has many communication benefits, like being able to communicate
with family and friends across the world. According to the article, 4 Benefits of

How Did John D Rockefeller Impact On America
The New Tycoons All three of these successful entrepreneurs have had their own
individual impacts on America at their time and today. John D Rockefeller had an
enormous impact on America, as he provided the perfect image for the American
dream. Since he came from a humble beginning, he came from a small town in New
York and his father practiced herbal medicine and cured people in the area. He then
was sent to a Clevelandbusiness school and started work as a clerk in a shipping
firm. He then saved enough money to start his own business, but quickly sold that
business and got into the oil industry. He then innovated the oil business by
creating new ways to produce products out of the waste product of making
kerosene. He quickly made a huge profit and then created horizontal integration by
creating many trusts with other businesses in the oil industry to create a monopoly.
Rockefeller was the first to create a monopoly in American business and
revolutionized the way businesses interacted. Andrew Carnegie was like
Rockefeller in the way that he came from humble belongings by growing up in a
small town in Pennsylvania. He was talented in accounting and reading from an
early aged and often went into the homes of the wealthy to read their personal
libraries. He started in a low end job,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I believe this because he was the original rags to riches story and represented the
American dream. He inspired many great businessmen like Carnegie, that it doesn t
matter where you came from. All that matters is what you do with what you re
given. He also innovated the oil and gas business which is still a huge industry in
America today. Rockefeller was the first billionaire and inspired others that if they
worked hard enough, then they could have what it takes to be a billionaire as well.
Rockefeller also donated half of his fortune to medical foundations, universities, and
centers of art for the greater
The Theory Of War And Peace Essay
This week s readings mainly challenge neorealists prescriptions about war and
peace. While the systemic theory presented by Waltz (1979) sees international
structure as the main source of war and equal distribution of power between two
actors (bipolarity) as the main guarantee of peace, Bremer (1992) and Reed (2000)
emphasize the role of domestic factors on the emergence of conflict, and Wohlforth
(1999) claims that unipolarity not bipolarity will stabilize the international system.
Thompson (2006), in contrast to Wohlforth, presents completely opposite arguments
about the unipolarity of current system and makes different prediction related to its
possible period of persistency. According to the subjects of debates this paper
consists of two parts where besides findings and arguments of each article, I focus on
the possible counterarguments that might be given as a response by realists.
Systemic factors vs. domestic factors The first debate area is covered in articles by
Stuart A. Bremer and William Reed. Particularly, Bremer claims that assumptions of
idealism about pacifying effects of collective security alliances; democratization,
economic development and reduced level of weaponry are more accurate than
realism s tenets. In contrary to Waltz s (1988, 627) argument that wars, hot and cold,
originate in the structure of the international political system , Reed contributes to
this debate by further emphasizing the effects of domestic factors on the conflict
onset and
Movie Review of The Monumental Men
What surprised me the most about The Monuments Men is how dull it was most of
the time. All the ingredients were present to have a fun and intense movie. There
was a lot of potential that wasn t utilized. It s entertaining in spurts, but went
through too many spots that had me bored. In the end, it s a decent movie to pass
the time and has things going for it, but it just leaves you wanting more from the
material. I didn t want to judge too much when I heard the news that the release
date had been switched from its award friendly December to February. That s
usually a negative sign, and it was in this case. Since this was directed by George
Clooneyand had an A list cast telling a world War II story, I thought it would have
turned out better.
During World War II, Hitler and his generals plunder the best artworks of Western
civilization sending millions paintings, statues, and other valuable objects to
Germany. While the war is coming to a close with the Allied invasion, the fate of
these priceless works of art are in jeopardy. Frank Stokes (George Clooney) is tasked
with putting together a team to get Europe s art back from the Nazis saving them,
and returning them to their rightful owners. The group consists of various museum
directors and art historians: James Granger (Matt Damon), Richard Campbell (Bill

Donald Jeffries (Hugh Bonneville), and Preston Savitz (Bob Balaban). The

Ed Sullivan Rusty Means By Wallace Thomas
Three different leadership styles emerge from the case depending on Ed Sullivan,
Rusty Means, and Wallace Thomas approaches. The comments in the case prove
that Ed Sullivan operates or use a laissez faire style. The style allows him to give
people within the organization to make all the critical decisions. Ed has delegated all
decision making power to the manager Rusty Means and is satisfied with the output.
On his part, Rusty ran the production department with an autocratic style; a type of
leadershipstyle that allows him makes all the decisions for the subordinates.
Moreover, Wallace Thomas as the newly hired general manager shows an inclination
to try to involve employees at all levels in making suggestion and decision making

Columbia Orator Thesis
Slavery in North America began when Virginia needed workers in 1619, to aid in
the production of crops as tobacco. Slavery was a big deal in North American
colonies during the 17th and 18th centuries, and African American slaves helped
build the economic foundations of the new nation. The Creation of the cotton gin in
1793 solidified the central importance of slaveryto the South s economy. By the mid
19th century, America s westward expansion, along with a growing abolition
movement in the North, would provoke a great debate over slavery that would tear
the nation apart in the bloody American Civil War.

Kadushin tightens up on Dawson s formulation and presents his understanding of the
three elements in terms of the primary problem and the primary goal. In
administrative supervision the primary problem is concerned with the correct,
effective and appropriate implementation of agency policies and procedures. The
primary goal is to ensure adherence to policy and procedure (Kadushin 1992: 20).
The supervisor has been given authority by the agency to oversee the work of the
supervisee. This carries the responsibility:
... both to ensure that agency policy is implemented which implies a controlling
function and a parallel responsibility to enable supervisees to work to the best of
their ability. (Brown and Bourne 1995: 10)
It also entails a responsibility not to lose touch with the rationale for the agency to

The stability of Felidae Puma Concolor can only be ensured with the enforcement of

Abstract
Hepcidin levels peak after exercise in athletes. This is attributable to many
inflammatory responses following interleukin 6 elevation. This event can affect iron
levels and an onset of anemia. Athletes should ensure that they consume enough
dietary iron for hepcidin levels to peak, but not to set them to undergo anemia. Most
testing was used to predict VO2 max and hepcidin levels post exercise. Hepcidin
levels peak after aerobic exercise as a protective mechanism to prevent iron toxicity,
with this in mind it is important to maintain normal iron levels to have the ability to
exercise to an individual s greatest genetic potential.

Key words: iron, hepcidin, exercise induced changes, interleukin 6, anemia, VO2 max
Introduction
Hepcidin levels increase as a protective mechanism as iron levels become higher than
normal after aerobic exercise. As a result athletes should be careful to consume and
retain sufficient iron to prevent their bodies to become iron deficient. Athletes spend
many hours training and performing sports, as a result their bodies sweat, and
undergo hemolysis of erythrocytes. This great stress situation affects their potential
for using or maintaining iron levels at their normal

ABSTRACT: The most of the recent work has spotlighted on texture synthesis by
instance, where a source texture image is re sampled by means of moreover pixel
based or else patch based algorithms to create a novel synthesized texture image with
related local appearance as well as arbitrary size. Texture synthesis has received much
consideration in the recent times, in computer vision as well as computer graphics.
This permits to take out secret messages and source texture from stego synthetic
texture. Our proposed scheme can provide a variety of numbers of embedding
capacities, generate a visually plausible texture images, and improve source texture.
We suggest a novel method by means of reversible texture synthesis which conceals
source texture image and embed secret messages all the way through procedure of
texture synthesis. Keywords: Texture synthesis, Patch based algorithms, Secret
messages, Computer graphics. I. INTRODUCTION: A distinctive steganographic

What Is The Purpose Of Ibn Battuta Essay
After Ibn Battuta returned to Fez in 1354, Abu Inan Faris, the sultan of Morrocco,
listened to his report on Mali as well as his other adventures and ordered him to stay
in Fez. The sultan wanted to have these stories written down for the amusement of his
family and others. So Ibn Battuta was commanded to dictate an account of the cities
which he had seen in his travel, and of the interesting events which had clung to his
memory, and of the rulers of countries whom he had met.
The Sultan hired a young writer Ibn Juzayy al Kalabi a young man Ibn Battuta had
met three years earlier in Granada. Ibn Battuta dictated an account of his journeys to
Ibn Juzzay, who was to put the stories into the proper form of a travel book. The full

While copies circulated earlier, it was French and English scholars who eventually
brought The Travels of Ibn Battuta the international attention it deserved. Ibn Battuta
took joy in discovering new experiences, and exercised amazing perseverance and
fortitude to complete extensive travels and return to his home country. He was an
educated, cosmopolitan, gregarious, upper class man who traveled within a familiar
Muslim culture, meeting like minded people wherever he went. Ibn Battuta told more
about himself, the people he met, and the importance of the positions he held.
Altogether, Ibn Battuta covered about 75,000 miles in 29 years, meeting with 60

Nasi Kerabu Essay
Chances are there are foods you love now that you hated as a kid. (Rose, 2012). I
remembered years ago when my mother first introduced me to Nasi Kerabu and I
looked at her in disbelief and asked, Ma, are you sure this bright blue colored food
is edible? Nonetheless, who would have thought that it will be one of my favorite
foods now? Simply the smell from the combination of fresh herbs, spicy coconut
gravy, coconut flake fish, fish crackers and grilled chicken is enough to make me
salivate. Nasi Kerabu is traditionally originated from Kelantan and the crowd
pleasing meal is regarded by the food aficionados as one of the Malaysia s finest
cuisine. Nasi Kerabu may require back breaking preparations and steps to prepare
the add ons that complement the dish, but, the end result is indeed well worth the
effort. First of all, like any other recipe, you would want to make sure that you have
prepared all the ingredients required to cook Nasi Kerabu. For the rice, you will need

Sports In Sports Essay
Teenagers competing in all kinds of different sports have always had a lot of issues
to deal with and even more in recent years with expectations for young athletes
getting increasingly high. These issues need to be addressed and I am going to
outline why. Young people generally have too much pressure put on them when
participating in sporting activities by parents, coaches, and teammates. Teenagers
have large expectations to perform at a top level by everyone around them when
playing a sportand the pressure put on them can a lot of the time be too much to
handle for their developing minds and bodies and will affect many other aspects
of their life which can cause plenty of stress for them. For example, many teens
participating at top levels of sport fall behind on their school work and will not
have the time to do many other things that may be important to them due to the
immense amount of pressure put on them from their chosen sport. A specific
example being in New York where a young boy, aged 10, was shocked when he
was told by the coach of his baseball team that he planned to have them cheat in
order to win the game. In my opinion, it is getting increasingly difficult for
teenagers to just enjoy the sport they love to play and have a good time with their
friends while still working hard and competing at a high level, and instead sports at a
high schoollevel are becoming purely focused on winning, which is because of adults
around the students being bad role

The value of global deals has been decreasing after a peak in 2015. Also, the western
part of the globe is currently trying to normalize their rates, with several headwinds
impeding the process. Some countries are thought to be in secular stagnation, which
is when the neutral real rate, involving long run saving and investment for the
loanable funds market, declines so much that the Central Bank can no longer attain it
through usual methods.
This article applies to the section, The Market for Loanable Funds. As factors like
outlooks on economics, incentives on saving, government deficits, regulations, and
expectations of businesses change, the supply and demand of loanable funds from the
market also change. Because the quantity of loanable funds increases with higher real
interest rates, the supply curve has a positive slope. Since the quantity of loanable
funds decreases with higher real interest rates, the demand curve has a negative slope.
In the third article, Actually, Maybe China Shouldn t Open Up Just Yet, Michael
Pettis states that people believe that China s economy is failing, and that the best
way to fix it is to bolster markets roles, free money, and free up the financial system,
as a ninety percent increase in debt has caused people to become fearful of a
possible financial crisis. Pettis lists several flaws with this logic. Since the

The Rwandan Genocide, was it similar to an African holocaust? An Ordinary Man is
an autobiography written by the manager of Hotel Milles Collines Paul
Rusesabagina. The battle between the Hutu and the Tutsi and how it affected his

to many innocent victims, so that it can be prevented from happening again.
When a Tutsi shot down President Habyarimana the leader of all Hutu s, that was
the beginning of the battle. Particularly, on April 6th the plane of President

The Tutsi never gave up; on October 1st they crossed the border and headed to the
capital and were soon granted their independence for jobs but it was not easy

The crime and punishment Rwanda experienced played a huge factor during the
genocide. In fact, in 1992 political organizations affiliated President Habyarimana for
two militias . The militias were involved in the killing of more than two thousand
civilians, mostly Tutsi tribe members Nearly one hundred and forty thousand people
were imprisoned as suspected investigators and participants in the Rwandan Genocide
. The government began using a traditional justice system called Gracaca, this allows
local communities to judge and try any suspects ( Rwanda ). Soon, RPF invaded on
October 1st 1990, The government responded by arresting and imprisoning roughly
eight thousand to ten thousand victims ( Rwanda ). Genocide is a term that has
acquired such power that some refuse to even utter it aloud. Surprisingly, most of the
massacres took place in churches. (Mamdani). Many outside observers particularly
Western countries like britain and the US thought the main reason for the violence
was tribal warfare or tribalism (Nardo 27). Some formed death squads that would
murder their neighbors, strangers, and sometimes even their own family members.

song to take the number one spot on Billboard s Top 100 list, breaking her tie with
Michael Jackson for the third most number one singles (Thomas). Through
countless successes as a solo female artist, she holds 8.5 billion views on YouTube

releasing the album title Anti under the Westbury Road Entertainment (Owned by
Rihanna) and Roc Nation Record, the leading single Work was released on
streaming service provided by Tidal on January 27, 2016. According to Nielsen
Music, Work had sold over 126,000 downloads and the eighth studio Anti album
generated 4.7 million streams (Caulfield, Gary). To a new listener, Rihanna s Work
full of slangs with offbeat and repeats the lyrics simultaneously (Billboard). Some
criticized that she spoke gibberish but Rihanna s work vocal quality is known to be
a unique with a distinctive tone. It s a chilled song that makes you want to be in
tropical, soaked with touches of the Caribbean flow. One of the remarkable facts is
that the song Work is a dance hall/ reggae pop genre originating from Jamaica.

Cartesian Dualism Essay
My definition of Cartesian dualism is the belief of an afterlife. Believing that your
soul is not the same substance as your body. Cartesian dualism consists of two parts,
the mind and the body being independent, but casually interacting with one another.
The mind can influence the body, and the body can affect the mind, but they are
distinct in their separate positions. Descartes argues this theory by implying the
nature of mind as a thinking thing being completely different from the body as a non
thinking thing and that it is possible for one to exist without the other. The mind and
body are both substances, substances are things that can exist alone without anything
else. He explains the properties as breaking them down into primary attributes... Show

He uses the wax example described in meditation 2 comparing the awareness of
himself to his awareness of wax. He states For if I judge that the wax exists from
the fact that I see it, clearly this same fact entails much more evidently that I
myself also exist. It is possible that what I see is not really the wax; it is possible
that I do not even have eyes with which to see anything. (Descartes Mediation 2) He
is contradicting his delusional ideas of doubt about his existence to help understand
the common sense position. There is a metaphysical connection between the mind
and the body, so he does not go by what the eye sees, but more of what the soul sees
beyond what is directly in front of you. He uses the third mediations to characterize
what it is to be epistemic describing it as clear and distinct perception. The basis for
perception and clear judgement is the evidence he used to understand an epistemic
view. (Plato.Stanford.edu) Descartes belief that the mind and body interact could be
seen as just an illusion, but the fact that he used his thought process and him
questioning his identity to defer whether it is possible for the mind and body to be
separate substances explains his perceptual experiences and how it is plausible. I
think that it is an accurate theory because of the dependence on the mind and the
dependence we have on the body.
Why We Must Go Wrong
As the saying goes anything that can go wrong, will go wrong , yet being fully
aware of this, humans don t avoid doing things altogether, instead we intentionally
thrive toward finding that which can go wrong out of curiosity for knowledge and
fear that we might miss out on something if we don t. There is a lesson to be found
in every disappointment and negative outcome therefore, we gain experience, we
discover, and learn to live with things going wrong because that means we are one
step closer to it going right. We learn to live with these things by jotting down our
mistakes and others prior mistakes to help us prepare accordingly to future
situations. This is especially true in aviation. Without things going wrong, flying
would not hold the safest mode of transportation nor would it be as advanced, as
there would be nothing to aid us in how to prepare for the next flight otherwise. We
ve spent the last years in aviation focusing on increasing safety by trying to perfect
aircraft to only learn, as Wilbur Wright stated, ...the safety of the operator is more
important than any other point. Greater prudence is needed rather than greater skill.
This meaning that it isn t the technology or the aircrews individual capabilities; it is
the lack of caution and preparation instilled into the aircrew. Information gathered
from flight data recorders, FDRs, and cockpit voice recorders, CVRs, revealed new
insights on aircraft accidents. The result of several accidents was
Summary Of Charles Frazier s Cold Mountain
The author of Cold Mountain, Charles Frazier, introduces his readers to many
characters. Some of these characters are not main characters and appear later in the
story while others die; however, some will stay in the plot until the end. These
characters are human, so they tend to change moods and thoughts frequently
throughout the story. While these mood changes are occurring we discover new
things about these characters and get to know them more and more personally. Ada,
Inman and Ruby are all main characters in the story. Usually, when a chapter is
written about Inman, the following chapter is written about Ruby and Ada. Ruby
does not appear in the beginning of the novel, however, even though she appears
later, we still get to know a lot about her. The characters Ada, Inman and Ruby
develop quite quickly. Inman is one of the characters that Charles Frazier tells the
readers about rapidly. When the book first starts out Inman is in the hospital and the
author tells the readers what has happened and why Inman is in the hospital; for
example, on page 6 in Cold Mountain, Charles Frazier tells us, Inman had taken his
own during the fighting outside Petersburg. When his two... Show more content on

Ada is introduced in the second chapter and Frazier writes about how she is left
alone and how she is not a person that should be left alone as she seems to be very
irresponsible. Ada gets attacked by an animal and in her free time, she hides under
a pile of leaves to feel safe. She talks about the old days with her friends and how she
used to feel so comfortable. This shows the readers Ada is childish and she is not to
be left unattended as she will be unable to survive on her own. Ada writes to a
character and this is when the readers realize that Ada and Inman are in love and the
whole journey Inman will be taking is to see Ada. Ada meets a girl named Ruby,
Ruby seemed tough however, Ada seemed to form a connection with Ruby
New Public Management ( Npm )
New Public Management (NPM) was developed in response to some criticisms of
the public sector. One of them is to make the public sector more financially
accountable since they need to demonstrate to the government who provides them
funding, that the money is being put into good use. They also need to ensure efficient
resource allocation (Peyton) because resources are limited yet there is an increase in
expectations and demands. For example, number of public hospitals and medical
expertise may be insufficient to meet the public s demand. This is because government
feel compelled to ensure that everyone can access healthcare and is therefore,
provided at a low cost. The problem is made worse due to the growth of private
hospitals, where quality of services is regarded as superior to public hospitals. The
public medical sector is thus under great pressure to improve service quality and
efficiency.
It is said that the new public management reforms have made public sector
organisations more calculable and accountable. First of all, it is important to define
these terms. Calculable means the ability to measure and assess the worth of
something. In our context, it often means putting monetary value on tangibles and
intangibles. Accountable means being held responsible for actions taken and the
ability to answer to those who are involved in the process. Accountability can be
towards donors (upwards) or towards beneficiaries (downwards). In order to

Sonny s Blues revolves around the narrator as he learns who his drug hooked, piano
playing baby brother, Sonny, really is. The author, James Baldwin, paints views on
racism, misery and art and suffering in this story. His written canvas portrays a dark
and continual scene pertaining to each topic. As the story unfolds, similarities in each
generation can be observed. The two African Americanbrothers share a life similar to
that of their father and his brother. The father s brother had a thirst for music, and
they both travelled the treacherous road of night clubs, drinking and partying before
his brother was hit and killed by a car full of white boys. Plagued, the father carried

Words expressed only through the agonizing notes of distress and sadness. Only then
was the art and suffering, comingled in only a way that life s experiences could bring.
Sonny s fingers filled the air with life, his life. But that life contained so many
others.....He made it his: that long line, of which we knew only Mama and Daddy.
And he was giving it back, so that, passing through death, it can now live forever. I
saw my Mother s face again, and felt, for the first time, how the stones of the road
she had walked on must have bruised her feet. I saw the moonlit road where my
father s brother died. And it brought something else back to me, and carried me
past it. I saw my little girl again and felt Isabel s (his wife) tears again, and felt my
own tears begin to rise. And I was yet aware that this was only a moment, that the
world waited outside, as hungry as a tiger, and that trouble stretched above us, longer
than the sky. (359)
The narrator was writhing in the misery of the burden of brotherly love. The narrator
s mother, via tasking him with looking after Sonny, asked him to serve as his sibling s
keeper and protector. The narrator was riddled with grief throughout his life right
from the burden of brotherly love that was placed upon his shoulder, to the
dilapidated living conditions he and Sonny had to endure while shaking up in the
projects, to the imprisonment of his younger brother and the death of his own daughter

There is a misconception that e Business simply means buying and selling products
and services over the Internet. The broader view of e Business focuses on the key
processes that directly enhance revenue В— namely, customer acquisition and

However, there are also the advantages and disadvantages to every good thing. When
it comes to e business, the advantages may include being able to use applications and
features such as email, which is great because it is a quick and cheap way of sending
information, combined with the ability to attach files and send them onto another
user. E business is also quicker and easier means of communications; it may
strengthen marketing capabilities and reach. Finally, it may also reduce the cost of
doing business by lowering transaction costs and increasing efficient methods for
payment, such as using online banking and reducing stationery and postage costs.
Despite having many advantages of the Internet, there are, unfortunately
disadvantages as well in e business. For example, Viruses are often spread over the
Internet, which can normally be done via email. Even having a virus scanner does
not protect your computer system at one hundred percent because they do not
always recognize new virus, which it does not yet know about. Other disadvantages
may include hackers being able to access your system and therefore, all of the
company s files, which could ruin the company s business, may be at large. There is
also one of the biggest complaints, which is the lack of physical contact because it
prevents scrutiny of products and lacks face to face interaction; there may be
difficulty in finding information;

Artistic Authenticity And Its Impact On The Middle Of...
Artistic authenticity is a pattern starting with mid nineteenth century French
Literature. It stretched out to late nineteenth and early twentieth century creators. It is
the delineation of contemporary life and the general public as it seems to be. Realist
creators selected delineation of ordinary and hackneyed exercises and encounters,
rather than a romanticized or comparatively adapted presentation. In authenticity the
character is a result of social components and environment is the vital component in
the emotional entanglements. It looks for a balanced relationship in the middle of
representation and the subject. This structure is otherwise called mimesis. Realists
are concerned with the impact of their work on the peruser and the peruser s life, a
down to earth view. Sober mindedness obliges the perusing of the workto have some
irrefutable result for the perusers that will prompt have a finer life for the peruser.
Authenticity plans to decipher the facts of any part of life, free from subjective
partiality, optimism, or sentimental shade. It is contrary to concerns of the abnormal,
the premise of Romanticism. Stresses the genuine over the awesome. Tries to treat
the typical truthfully and utilized characters from regular life. This accentuation was
brought on by societal changes, for example, the repercussions of the Civil War in
the United States and the rise of Darwin s Theory of Evolution and its impact upon
bible based understanding. Authenticity emerged as a

What Is Lowering The Voting Age
After reviewing the two articles, it is clear that the voting age in the United States is
up for discussion. However, the best supporting article is the one stating that the
voting age should remain as is. Recently, some people seem to believe that lowering
the voting age from eighteen to sixteen could help improve our votingsystem.
However, for several reasons, this idea would only put a damper on our political
system. As stated in the article, our only goal should be to higher our voter
participation rate. Instead of including a younger age range, the author suggest we
enforce mandatory voting among each American citizen. Many contries with the
highest percentages of voters, are currently practicing this mandatory voting system.
Essay On North American Myths
Myth of the Mound Builders The construction of the great earthworks of North
American antiquity were shrouded in mystery as the first European explores who
discovered them were astonished. They were not just astonished at the sight of the
massive mounds that were of monument proportion, but at the thought of who created
these great feats of human ingenuity. Who could construct such monuments in an
area of the world that was secluded from the known world for thousands of years?
There are many myths surrounding the construction of the mounds of North America,
but none are more troubling and perplexing than the idea that Natives of the Americas
were incapable of such feats of ingenuity. I will focus on the myths surrounding the
builders of the great mounds of North America, and the research that archeology has
used to clarify some of these myths in the search for the true nature of the builders.
The earliest myths surrounding the construction of the mounds excluded Natives
North American and any insight they had about the mounds. The contemporary idea
of the 18th century was that an advanced civilization built the mounds that had didn t

influence that this had on American archaeology lasted throughout the nineteenth

vacuum cleaner sucking everything (dust, light, and time). It also demonstrated that
a liquid hydrogen bomb would send a shock wave under water and after the
shockwave passes everything would be pulled back in toward the source.
Impact Of Writing Research Paper
The Impact of Writing
Exactly how important is writing in today s society? Can we go through college
without
writing skills? More important, how do writing skills will affect our lives
professionally? When
we think of a writer, a novelist or a journalist come to our minds, although those are
two of the
most popular career choices, there are many paths to a writing career. But how much
does
learning how to write essays can help us develop different skills and how much does
that affect
our relationship with others? Our history, all we know about the human kind, all
living things,
our world and the universe, everything can be found in books or online. But none of
this could be
accomplished without the use of writing.
Writing is the physical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Much of the research on writing and happiness deals with expressive writing or jotting
down what you think and how you feel, expressive writing has also been linked to
improved
mood, well being, and reduced stress levels for those who do it regularly, says Adam
Grant.
Writing your thoughts, feelings, concerns and plans for the future can help you relief
stress, be
more organized and keep goals that can be accomplished in a near or far future.
Keeping a
journal of your daily life can also help you become a better writer as you begin to
develop much
fluent ideas and it becomes easier to put down in words your thoughts.
Writing is simultaneously a physical activity and a cognitive activity. Empirical
research
overwhelmingly shows that we learn and synthesize new information and connections
during the
actual act of writing, no matter how much we may think we already know what we
want to say
when we actually sit down to write. Too often though we are taught, wrongly, that
writing is
only a physical act, the mere transcription of ideas already hatched and thought
through. Such a
mental model could not possibly be further from the cognitive truth. And this
mistaken

According to Ultimate John Deere By Ralph W. Sanders (), John Deere was as

Similarities Between Cow And Cow
If you have ever cared for an animal you know, it is never as easy as it seems. A
good deal of time, effort, and money go into taking care of pets and/or livestock
properly. While sometimes it feels like a downhill slide, at the end of a long day
farmers feel a sense of accomplishment. A good farmer will give any living animal
the best life it can live even though we tend to care for each species differently.
While horses and cows have many similarities when it comes to appearances, they
have many different features that categorize them as equine or bovine.
Cows and horses both live off of grasses that they can forage for. Many farmers feed
hay in months that grass is not as plentiful, as well as supplementing horse and cows
with grain types many of which include oats, corn, and molasses. Farmers either bale
their own or search for high quality hay for both species. During summer months,
rotational grazing systems allowing cattle and horses to forage for their own food
with giving pastures the breaks they need to grow the highest nutrient filled grasses
they can achieve. Although cows and horses have similar diets, their digestion ...

They both have four legs and stand on 4 tiny hooves. Cows and horses knees are
on the back side of their hind legs. Their eyes are placed on the side of their heads
so they can watch for predators. While having all these similarities, they have many
differences structurally. For example, a thousand pound horse is going to be much
taller and longer, which is much different from a thousand pound cow, whom is
going to be much shorter than a horse and much wider. Horses in good condition will
have more defined muscles in their chests, shoulders, and rumps Also, their jaws are
much longer than a cows, and their tails are are much different while serving the
same fly swatting

Time s Arrow by Martin Amis
Time s Arrow by Martin Amis
The human being is an analytical creature. From scientists to philosophers to star
crossed teenaged lovers, the human is internally motivated to understand the world
around him. That world provides countless puzzles for the human to solve, whether
these puzzles lie in the forests of the heart, the laws of mathematics or the annals of
history. However, some of the most unfathomable aspects of this world have been
entirely created by humans. The Holocaust is one of the most unfathomable events in
human history. Countless documentaries, pieces of literature, psychological analyses
and films have explored the topic in an attempt to understand exactly how humans
could commit such terrible atrocities against ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

S. Eddington awarded the second law of thermodynamics the supreme position
among the laws of Nature since it alone was responsible for what he was the first to
call time s arrow ... The directionality of time that results from entropy s increase,
Eddington points out, is intimately installed in our awareness of ourselves in the
world, confirmed by human reason, and dependent upon the fact that there are
multiple parts to be organized or disordered (Menke, 970).
Therefore, Eddington claims that the directionality of time is inherently within the
human awareness. Human beings are essentially rational creatures who have an
inborn need to make sense of the ever increasing disorder in the world around them.
We use the constant forward linear march of time to establish order in a disordered
universe in which entropy continually increases.
The Holocaust threatens our attempts to maintain this illusion of order. The
extermination at Nazi camps like Auschwitz was at the same time the most entropic
and ordered event in all of human history. Never before had death, destruction, and
the process of dehumanization (all
Examples Of Sexism In The Princess And The Frog
I chose to analyze the movie The Princess and the Frog since I knew how sexist
Disney princess movies in the past, such as Cinderella and Snow White and the
Seven Dwarves, have been, but also the interesting twists that try to hide sexism in
the more modern tales. The Princess and The Frog really is a classic Disney love
story. Tiana is a woman in New Orleans who dreams of one day running her own
popular restaurant along the Mississippi River. Prince Naveen travels to New
Orleans with the sole purpose of marrying a rich woman to reclaim his part of his
family s fortune. His greed is his downfall when he seeks the services of Dr.
Facilier, a voodoo man who turns him into a frog and turns his servant, Lawrence,
into the prince. In a chance meeting at a masquerade ball, Tiana and frog Naveen
meet. Naveen promises to pay for Tiana s restaurant if she would kiss him to turn
him back into a human. Tiana relents, kisses him, and then is also turned into a frog.
It is a race against time for them to find a way to turn themselves back into humans....

This stereotype is somewhat true since Prince Naveen is turned into a frog, fulfilling
the animal part. The only way that he can go back to being human in the film is by
kissing a princess. The fact that the kiss has to happen between a male and a
female emphasizes the standard of heterosexual relationships that was set as the
social norm before by the men on the trolley. This is not the only thing the kiss
symbolize. The kiss also symbolize Naveen s reliance on women. Naveen tells Tiana
in confidence that he had never learned how to do anything because his parents did
everything for him. Naveen is used to the nurturing of his parents and expects
everyone, included Tiana, to provide everything for

  • 2. The Hidden Truth about Breatfeeding or Formula Rocket Science. Breastfeeding makes babies smarter. The controversy of breastfeeding and the use is breast milk substitutes for infant formula has been going on for years now. In the past there has been facts proving that infant formula has caused illness and deaths worldwide. I see this type of strife on busses, billboards, and the social media. It has caught my attention to conduct a survey and see how many women breastfeed, to see the quantity of women that do care for. I have set up a survey of a sample of a 100 mothers and asked two questions if you have breastfeed or if you have not? All my friends were playing videogames on their computers and, so I wanted to build one. They were way too expensive, so I never got the chance. I enjoy fixing computers and helping my family with their technical issues. Everything is run by electronics these days, so I might as well get good at using them and seeing how they work. In the career field of engineering, there is a broad field and offers several alternative career paths. Those interested in working with engineers and developers to create the code for software programs and systems should consider a career in computer programming. After reviewing plans and operational diagrams from software developers, programmers use specialized tools and programming languages to produce the finished product. They also analyze and test existing products to identify and repair errors ( Alternative Careers ). Computer hardware engineer is another possible career route in this industry. Budget Management Analysis Essay Budget Management Analysis Budget Management Analysis A budget is a tool that helps managers to ensure that the required resources are obtained and used effectively and efficiently as the organization moves towards achievement of its objectives. A budget is stated in terms of money and is usually made for one year depending either on the prior year s budget or on existing programs (Cleverly amp; Cameron, 2007, p. 330). Creating a working budget is a very difficult undertaking, and for the budget to be functional, an organization must stick to the budget very closely. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Efficiency variance defines the difference between the resources used for the project and the estimated output on the budget. Managers wanting to assess their organizational performance use efficiency measures for comparison (Cleverly amp; Cameron, 2007, p. 331). Finally, capacity variance describes the difference between the time spent working and the estimated time of the budget. The difference between the budget and the total hours worked form the equation (Baker amp; Baker, 2006, p. 135). Strategies to Align Results with Expectations Financial plans are based on the perception of the budget, expenses, and the revenue experienced annually. Most of the attention is based on strategic management, like priority budget or long term planning. Several techniques can be used to manage finances efficiently. One of the techniques, cash flow assessment includes analysis of the budget variance. Cash flow usually tracks income against the amount spent. This often offers the discernment of the organization to meet its obligations without exploiting its reserves (Baker amp; Baker, 2006, p. 137). Cash flows indicate the patterns that could have an impact on long term position of the organization. Several models of cash flow are applicable. Stanislavski s Impact On Modern Theatre Direction Although the history of theatre has been characterized by many great directors, none should be considered as influential as Constantin Stanislavski. At a time when society frowned upon members of a high social class pursuing careers in theatre, Stanislavski maintained the courage to follow his dreams. This paper will begin with a discussion of the early years of Stanislavski s life, followed by a review of Stanislavski s career in theatre. Finally, the paper will discuss Stanislavski s impact on modern theatre direction and why he is viewed as one of the most influential directors in the history of theatrical performance. Born in 1863 to a wealthy family in Moscow, Constantin Stanislavskiwas originally born Constantin Sergeievich Alekseiev (1). At the time, actors and other theatrical performers were viewed in Russia as low class citizens given that many of them were recently freed from slavery and were trained as actors to entertain the nobility. Due to his family s high social status and financial success, Stanislavski often attended theatrical performances and other performing arts shows as entertainment. As a result, Stanislavski discovered his passion for the performing arts, specifically the circus, the ballet, and puppetry (1). However, it was not until Stanislavski s father, Sergei, was elected as head of the merchant class in 1877 (1) that Stanislavski truly began his passion and career in theatre. While the systemic theory presented by Waltz (1979) sees international structure as the main source of war and equal distribution of power between two actors (bipolarity) as the main guarantee of peace, Bremer (1992) and Reed (2000) emphasize the role of domestic factors on the emergence of conflict, and Wohlforth (1999) claims that unipolarity not bipolarity will stabilize the international system. Thompson (2006), in contrast to Wohlforth, presents completely opposite arguments about the unipolarity of current system and makes different prediction related to its possible period of persistency. According to the subjects of debates this paper consists of two parts where besides findings and arguments of each article, I focus on the possible counterarguments that might be given as a response by realists. Systemic factors vs. domestic factors The first debate area is covered in articles by Stuart A. Bremer and William Reed. Particularly, Bremer claims that assumptions of idealism about pacifying effects of collective security alliances; democratization, economic development and reduced level of weaponry are more accurate than realism s tenets. In contrary to Waltz s (1988, 627) argument that wars, hot and cold, originate in the structure of the international political system , Reed contributes to this debate by further emphasizing the effects of domestic factors on the conflict onset and

This is attributable to many inflammatory responses following interleukin 6 elevation. This event can affect iron levels and an onset of anemia. Athletes should ensure that they consume enough dietary iron for hepcidin levels to peak, but not to set them to undergo anemia. Most testing was used to predict VO2 max and hepcidin levels post exercise. Hepcidin levels peak after aerobic exercise as a protective mechanism to prevent iron toxicity, with this in mind it is important to maintain normal iron levels to have the ability to exercise to an individual s greatest genetic potential. 101 words Key words: iron, hepcidin, exercise induced changes, interleukin 6, anemia, VO2 max Introduction Hepcidin levels increase as a protective mechanism as iron levels become higher than normal after aerobic exercise. Sports In Sports Essay Teenagers competing in all kinds of different sports have always had a lot of issues to deal with and even more in recent years with expectations for young athletes getting increasingly high. These issues need to be addressed and I am going to outline why. Young people generally have too much pressure put on them when participating in sporting activities by parents, coaches, and teammates. Teenagers have large expectations to perform at a top level by everyone around them when playing a sportand the pressure put on them can a lot of the time be too much to handle for their developing minds and bodies and will affect many other aspects of their life which can cause plenty of stress for them. For example, many teens participating at top levels of sport fall behind on their school work and will not have the time to do many other things that may be important to them due to the immense amount of pressure put on them from their chosen sport. A specific example being in New York where a young boy, aged 10, was shocked when he was told by the coach of his baseball team that he planned to have them cheat in order to win the game. In my opinion, it is getting increasingly difficult for teenagers to just enjoy the sport they love to play and have a good time with their friends while still working hard and competing at a high level, and instead sports at a high schoollevel are becoming purely focused on winning, which is because of adults around the students being bad role

The value of global deals has been decreasing after a peak in 2015. Also, the western part of the globe is currently trying to normalize their rates, with several headwinds impeding the process. Some countries are thought to be in secular stagnation, which is when the neutral real rate, involving long run saving and investment for the loanable funds market, declines so much that the Central Bank can no longer attain it through usual methods. This article applies to the section, The Market for Loanable Funds. As factors like outlooks on economics, incentives on saving, government deficits, regulations, and expectations of businesses change, the supply and demand of loanable funds from the market also change. Because the quantity of loanable funds increases with higher real interest rates, the supply curve has a positive slope. Since the quantity of loanable funds decreases with higher real interest rates, the demand curve has a negative slope. In the third article, Actually, Maybe China Shouldn t Open Up Just Yet, Michael Pettis states that people believe that China s economy is failing, and that the best way to fix it is to bolster markets roles, free money, and free up the financial system, as a ninety percent increase in debt has caused people to become fearful of a possible financial crisis. Pettis lists several flaws with this logic. Since the government has the ability to restructure the liabilities of banking sectors whenever they

  • 29. Cartesian Dualism Essay My definition of Cartesian dualism is the belief of an afterlife. Believing that your soul is not the same substance as your body. Cartesian dualism consists of two parts, the mind and the body being independent, but casually interacting with one another. The mind can influence the body, and the body can affect the mind, but they are distinct in their separate positions. Descartes argues this theory by implying the nature of mind as a thinking thing being completely different from the body as a non thinking thing and that it is possible for one to exist without the other. The mind and body are both substances, substances are things that can exist alone without anything else. He explains the properties as breaking them down into primary attributes... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He uses the wax example described in meditation 2 comparing the awareness of himself to his awareness of wax. He states For if I judge that the wax exists from the fact that I see it, clearly this same fact entails much more evidently that I myself also exist. It is possible that what I see is not really the wax; it is possible that I do not even have eyes with which to see anything. (Descartes Mediation 2) He is contradicting his delusional ideas of doubt about his existence to help understand the common sense position. There is a metaphysical connection between the mind and the body, so he does not go by what the eye sees, but more of what the soul sees beyond what is directly in front of you. He uses the third mediations to characterize what it is to be epistemic describing it as clear and distinct perception. The basis for perception and clear judgement is the evidence he used to understand an epistemic view. (Plato.Stanford.edu) Descartes belief that the mind and body interact could be seen as just an illusion, but the fact that he used his thought process and him questioning his identity to defer whether it is possible for the mind and body to be separate substances explains his perceptual experiences and how it is plausible. I think that it is an accurate theory because of the dependence on the mind and the dependence we have on the body.

Why We Must Go Wrong As the saying goes anything that can go wrong, will go wrong , yet being fully aware of this, humans don t avoid doing things altogether, instead we intentionally thrive toward finding that which can go wrong out of curiosity for knowledge and fear that we might miss out on something if we don t. There is a lesson to be found in every disappointment and negative outcome therefore, we gain experience, we discover, and learn to live with things going wrong because that means we are one step closer to it going right. We learn to live with these things by jotting down our mistakes and others prior mistakes to help us prepare accordingly to future situations. This is especially true in aviation. Without things going wrong, flying would not hold the safest mode of transportation nor would it be as advanced, as there would be nothing to aid us in how to prepare for the next flight otherwise. We ve spent the last years in aviation focusing on increasing safety by trying to perfect aircraft to only learn, as Wilbur Wright stated, ...the safety of the operator is more important than any other point. Greater prudence is needed rather than greater skill. This meaning that it isn t the technology or the aircrews individual capabilities; it is the lack of caution and preparation instilled into the aircrew. Information gathered from flight data recorders, FDRs, and cockpit voice recorders, CVRs, revealed new insights on aircraft accidents. The result of several accidents was

  • 32. New Public Management ( Npm ) New Public Management (NPM) was developed in response to some criticisms of the public sector. One of them is to make the public sector more financially accountable since they need to demonstrate to the government who provides them funding, that the money is being put into good use. They also need to ensure efficient resource allocation (Peyton) because resources are limited yet there is an increase in expectations and demands. For example, number of public hospitals and medical expertise may be insufficient to meet the public s demand. This is because government feel compelled to ensure that everyone can access healthcare and is therefore, provided at a low cost. The problem is made worse due to the growth of private hospitals, where quality of services is regarded as superior to public hospitals. The public medical sector is thus under great pressure to improve service quality and efficiency. It is said that the new public management reforms have made public sector organisations more calculable and accountable. First of all, it is important to define these terms. Calculable means the ability to measure and assess the worth of something. In our context, it often means putting monetary value on tangibles and intangibles. Accountable means being held responsible for actions taken and the ability to answer to those who are involved in the process. Accountability can be towards donors (upwards) or towards beneficiaries (downwards). In order to investigate this statement

It stretched out to late nineteenth and early twentieth century creators. It is the delineation of contemporary life and the general public as it seems to be. In authenticity the character is a result of social components and environment is the vital component in the emotional entanglements. • 47. Time s Arrow by Martin Amis Time s Arrow by Martin Amis The human being is an analytical creature. From scientists to philosophers to star crossed teenaged lovers, the human is internally motivated to understand the world around him. That world provides countless puzzles for the human to solve, whether these puzzles lie in the forests of the heart, the laws of mathematics or the annals of history. However, some of the most unfathomable aspects of this world have been entirely created by humans. The Holocaust is one of the most unfathomable events in human history. Countless documentaries, pieces of literature, psychological analyses and films have explored the topic in an attempt to understand exactly how humans could commit such terrible atrocities against ... Eddington awarded the second law of thermodynamics the supreme position among the laws of Nature since it alone was responsible for what he was the first to call time s arrow ... The directionality of time that results from entropy s increase, Eddington points out, is intimately installed in our awareness of ourselves in the world, confirmed by human reason, and dependent upon the fact that there are multiple parts to be organized or disordered (Menke, 970). Therefore, Eddington claims that the directionality of time is inherently within the human awareness. Human beings are essentially rational creatures who have an inborn need to make sense of the ever increasing disorder in the world around them. We use the constant forward linear march of time to establish order in a disordered universe in which entropy continually increases. The Holocaust threatens our attempts to maintain this illusion of order. The extermination at Nazi camps like Auschwitz was at the same time the most entropic and ordered event in all of human history. Never before had death, destruction, and the process of dehumanization (all

The Princess and The Frog really is a classic Disney love story. Tiana is a woman in New Orleans who dreams of one day running her own popular restaurant along the Mississippi River. Prince Naveen travels to New Orleans with the sole purpose of marrying a rich woman to reclaim his part of his family s fortune. His greed is his downfall when he seeks the services of Dr. Facilier, a voodoo man who turns him into a frog and turns his servant, Lawrence, into the prince. In a chance meeting at a masquerade ball, Tiana and frog Naveen meet. Naveen promises to pay for Tiana s restaurant if she would kiss him to turn him back into a human. Tiana relents, kisses him, and then is also turned into a frog. It is a race against time for them to find a way to turn themselves back into humans.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This stereotype is somewhat true since Prince Naveen is turned into a frog, fulfilling the animal part. The only way that he can go back to being human in the film is by kissing a princess. The fact that the kiss has to happen between a male and a female emphasizes the standard of heterosexual relationships that was set as the social norm before by the men on the trolley. This is not the only thing the kiss symbolize. The kiss also symbolize Naveen s reliance on women. Naveen tells Tiana in confidence that he had never learned how to do anything because his parents did everything for him. Naveen is used to the nurturing of his parents and expects everyone, included Tiana, to provide everything for
