4. Persuasive Essay On Freedom
We as a society like to think of ourselves as free. Free to go where we choose, do what we like, and
live our lives as we deem fit. Of course, we all realize that it doesn t always quite work out so
perfectly and there are logical barriers keeping you from living every day eating candy and riding
roller coasters. We certainly don t have total freedom in that sense, but we believe we are free in the
sense that we can choose things for ourselves and live life by our own rules, within reason. But what if
we have even less control than we think? Several notable philosophers have contemplated what it
means to have freedom and whether or not we have any choices at all. I talk, of course, about
determinism and the human psyche.
Section Two: Analysis
Among the first influential philosophers to cover this issue was Arthur Schopenhauer in his Prize
Essay on the Freedom of the Will back in 1839. According to Schopenhauer, freedom is the absence of
everything that impedes and obstructs (Schopenhauer 174) He goes on to state that there are three
individual types of freedom: physical freedom, moral freedom, and intellectual freedom. To put it
simply, physical freedom is the absence of physical restriction. If you are not physically bound, held in
a room against your will, or paralyzed, then you are physically free. He explains moral freedom and
describes it as being the ability to will yourself to do something without any external forces to
influence you. And finally, he covers

5. The Execution Of A New Strategy
Execution of a new strategy is always a taxing task. It necessitates the possession of significant
resources, and also a well designed and engaged administrative composition. Good policy will
designate a specific person who or entity who is accountable for implementing the new policy. At the
outset of the execution of a new policy, a group should be identified that can oversee the new strategy
in all pertinent sectors of the organization to assure various efforts within management are
synchronized.
In Jordan, an expansion synchronization team was set up in the governmental bureau that collected
information from each of the government directorates within the kingdom s Education Ministry to
oversee the implementation of diverse programs connected to the education transformation that
included the ICT Plan that the government wished to develop (Ministry of Economics, 2008). In
Singapore, the Educational Technology Division teamed up with divisions within the government s
education ministry in such activities as curriculum preparation, development and training of teachers
in ICT and the execution of their long range and short range plans. In addition, the Ministry of
Education worked closely with the government agencies that are held responsible for the national ICT
grid and for increasing an aggressive ICT industry in Singapore (Coppock, Smith Howell, 2007).

7. Gladwell s Writing Style In Outliers By George Gladwell
Gladwell s overall writing style in Outliers managed to convey his message using formal yet simple
diction and mostly uncomplicated syntax. His writing was symbolic at times, but also quite literal at
others. The book was relatable, memorable, and easy to understand. He uses some rhetorical devices,
such as this polysyndeton: he s tall and gawky and sixteen years old (Gladwell 42). He also used other
literary devices, such as dialogue: it came out of the blue (Gladwell 248). These devices added
complexity and depth and also caught my attention. They are key to writing a book that keeps the
reader interested and helps them pay attention to and remember key details. The impact of organizing
the book into Part 1: Opportunity and Part 2: Legacy was that it showed there was a clear division
between the two parts of achieving success. Having this distinction helps the reader to learn each
concept and in the end, be able to understand the overall theme. For opportunity, he describes how
opportunities need to emerge in order for success to be reached, such as how [t]heir world their culture
and generation and family history gave them the greatest of opportunities (Gladwell 158) in the case
of many people. Gladwell distinguishes the two parts of the book in part two, saying that so far, we
have seen that success arises out of the steady accumulation of advantages... [that] all make a
significant difference in how well you do in the world. The question for the second part

different throughout historical time period. In pre modern times, death was not something that much
society thought about. Nowadays with the advancement of modern science and technology, it affected
society to have a sense of hope and refusal to accept death. It s a difficult to witness a deceased one

9. The Importance Of Play On Child Development
Introduction to the Issues and Literature Review Play is an important part of children s development,
as it helps us to understand their emotional, social, and physical/motor development. Interaction
during play, or lack their of, can help to explain a child s temperance, their comprehension of social
rules, and their understanding of others (Allen, 2008; Franklin, 2000; Rothbart and Jones, 1998).
Physical and motor movements in play can depict a child s sensory tolerance and preferences
(Williamson and Anazalone, 2008). Most notable, all of these systems work together in play to
understand the rates at which a child is developing and in which areas more support may be needed.
As Rothbart and Jones discuss in their piece Temperament, self regulation and education, children that
have a stronger Behavioral Inhibition System (fear or anxiety reactions) may be more likely to display
introverted or inhibited behavior (1998). These children may be more susceptible to becoming
discouraged and may require more positive feedback from their peers or adults. To further explain,
they might fear punishment for their actions and need positive reinforcement that their behavior is
socially acceptable or they may doubt their own abilities to perform in certain situations. A child s
estimation of their abilities and likelihood of their success in a given situation also may be affected if
he or she tends to be more fearful. They may avoid situations where they feel inadequate and avoid

Players face lots of bruises, but some of these can cause a more serious, long term injury such as knee,
elbow and hand injuries. Basketball can be high risk. I ve seen some very graphic injuries from
watching a basketball game. All sports have some sort of injury possibility, but this oe would

possible more severe injuries include knee injuries. My experience with injuries aren t a whole lot,

The poem is centered on one question: what did I know of love s austere and lonely offices? The
majority of the poem is examples of love s austere and lonely offices . One such example would be
when the boy polishes his shoes, probably getting ready to go to church. The father, although poor,
still passes on good values to his son by going to church on Sundays. Another example would be the
father waking up earlier than the rest of the house to get it warmed up. He deeply cares and loves his
family and doesn t want them to suffer in the cold and darkness as long as possible (only suffer at
night). Another example of the father s love is when he wakes up earlier and gets the wood from the
cold outside weather to keep the family and house warm instead of enlisting for help from his family.

How many people can say that they have a pet that has been around, in some form or other, for 300

There are many interesting things people can learn about reptile behavior from their pet like how their
reptile eats, how it moves, how it hunts, how it reproduces, how it mates, how it defends itself, and
how it s born. One fact that can be learned is that not all reptiles are born from eggs some, like boas,
are born live. There are many benefits to keeping a reptile. For example, people who are allergic to pet
dander from furry animals like cats and dogs can keep a reptile as a pet. Reptiles aren t furry, so there
aren t any allergy problems to consider. Reptiles also don t really require the intense care that is
needed for many other pets as their cold blooded metabolism makes them less active. Many reptiles
also don t need to be fed daily as a good meal will often keep them for days or even months in the case
of many snakes. Reptiles are also good for people who like quiet pets as many are relatively silent.
(PetLife) When choosing a pet reptile people also need to be aware of the advantages and
disadvantages of keeping a reptile to be sure it is suitable for them. For example, the experts at Reptile
Expert.com recommend that Corn snakes make a good snake pet for beginners. They are docile and
respond well to human handling. (Hsin Yi) The owners have to be aware that some pet reptiles have
killed people and take into consideration the fact they will be solely responsible for anything that

Post mortem examinations yielded investigators to believe the killer kept the body in a cool area

avoid detection. Also, her ponytail was kept the same way since her disappearance. To provide
concrete proof, investigators called on a cryobiology expert. Through examination of Leanne s heart

first piece of evidence that provided a useful fool to incriminate Taylor was the dog collar. Police

The first concepts I learned about in this chapter are the deductive and inductive reasoning. As

becoming a critical thinker. So what is deductive reasoning? Deductive reasoning is structured in such
a way as to give as to give us certainty about what it true in a given situation. The conclusions
certainty is established when deductive arguments contain true premises reasons stated in the correct
form (Diestler 2012). So basically, deductive reasoning is taking some set of data or facts and using
that to come up with other deducting facts. When using deductive reasoning its sometimes knows as

Therefore, you start to think out of the box and having different opinions it can allow you to have
better decision making skills in choosing better life choices for yourselves. In the video that was

by using math. In decision making mathematics share the same language, in you have problems that
need to be solved. Therefore, you look at the factors that you re going away against each other so

numbers. The experiment was to see if the math could predict the volunteers which consist of the four

The UN has [A]cknowledge[d] that we are living in an interdependent and global world and that many
of today s threats recognize no national boundaries, are interlinked and must be tackled at the global,
regional, and national levels in accordance with the Charter and international law (2005 World
Summit Outcome). After the world had entered into the Post Cold War era, traditional conceptions of
security had become the global security and human security. The International Government
Organizations (IGOs) and United Nations realized that wars and chaos began to be internationalized.
And the human security, such as human rights, poverty, and the environment, has received attention
gradually by the public. There are many issues that have affected the global security in recent decades.
The Iraq war began in 2003, and it estimated that more than one hundred thousand civilians died
during the war. On 11 March 2010, The Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster happened in Japan, and
fifteen thousand people died in this disaster. The Arab Spring began in 2010 in Tunisia, and then
spread to 18 Arab countries in Mid East and Africa. The United Nation, established in 1945 after the
World War II, has the responsibility to maintain the peace and security. While the UN is helpful in
some situations, there are times when the UN should not intervene. It is a general idea that the
performance of UN in the conflict is not as good as the performance in the human security.

major factors that contributed to the French Revolution. The most important cause was money. These
factors resulted in Louis The Sixteenth and Marie Antoinette being executed, and the reign of
Napoleon to begin.
Class conflicts are a huge component of the French Revolution. The French Revolution began as a
result of the lack of the people s happiness over how they were told to live their lives. There were

being focused on the material aspects of life on Earth. The clergy was supposed to be kind and helpful,
instead of selfish. Since the clergy was greedy, it lead France to be in even more debt and have more
conflicts. There were many privileges only given to the upper classes, which made it unfair. At the
beginning of the French Revolution, the bourgeoisie became very fed up with the inequalities within
the classes. To deal with the inequalities, the estates decided to gather in the tennis courts and take an
oath called the Tennis court Oath. The Tennis court Oath stated that they would not leave until a new
constitution was created. In the end, a new constitution was created and a new form of government
was put into place. The new government was called the national assembly. The national assembly
lasted from 1789 1799 but was then abolished as it upset many people in France because the priorities
of the National Assemblies decisions did not meet the people s needs.
Money was also a major factor to the French Revolution. Once Louis The Sixteenth and Marie
Antoinette became absolute monarchs in 1774, they lavishly spent money. The couple

20. Ahaziah Research Paper
There are times when a person becomes ill. They tried many different remedies to assist in their
illness. A die hard worshipper of God would petition the help from the Father first then seek medical
assistance. If the Bible speaks of the many healings that God did before. I would assume that He is
capable of doing it again and again. Every situation that we encounter is a test of our faith in the
powers of God. Sometimes things may come in a sudden manner and shake the core of our being. But
with God as an enter Spirit within us He quickly brings the mine in check with His words and His
miracles.
Therefore, we have here Ahaziah, the wicked king of Israel, under God s rebukes both by his
providence and by his prophet, by his rod and by his word. He is confused by his own doing based on
his ancestors. How can we expect to prosper by doing evil in the sight of the Lord? During this time,
the stories of the past were told continuously about how God protects, heals and provide for His
chosen one. When Ahaziah rebelled against God, and revolted from his allegiance to God. Ahaziah
was punishment severe. When men break their covenants with God, and neglect their duty, we must
reflect upon our breach of covenant and try to restore ourselves. Our sins weaken and deprive us of the

I ve always believed that if you put in the work, the results will come, said Michael Jordan. Laura
Hillenbrand s Unbroken was about a boy named Louie Zamperini. He started off as a troubled young
child, but in his teen years Louies brother Pete helped him find a love for running. He had dreams of
being an olympic runner, but his hopes and dreams were crushed when he got drafted into WWII, and
eventually got lost at sea and captured by enemy forces. When Louie loses he decides he will suffer

Anorexia By Cecilie Löw The media pressures young people into eating disorders like anorexia or

all other body types as imperfect. Having anorexia When a person have anorexia they deprive

23. Essay on Education Policy in Michigan
An outdated education system is the largest problem Michigan faces because it affects not only the
present, but also the future of the state. Important issues cannot be solved, nor policies created to
remedy them, if the people attempting to solve them are not equipped with the skills and knowledge
needed to make informed decisions. The state cannot run itself, let alone the nation as a whole, if its
people are uneducated. The Constitution, the very basis of our government, relies heavily on the
assumption that citizens of the United States are able to make knowledgeable and well reasoned
decisions, the types of which cannot be made when a person does not receive a proper education. This
proper education is unattainable when low ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After several years of success, the required cuts along with economic woes rendered Proposal A
largely ineffective and unable to properly fund Michigan s schools, creating a massive problem in the
way Michigan school districts are to be funded, as well as developing a need for new educational
policy to supplement or overhaul Proposal A and the Michigan educational system. The educational
funding problem in Michigan takes root back in 1809, when the first public school was founded.
While funding was not an issue at the time, the way schools were funded through local property taxes
eventually created a large problem. Fast forward to 1985, Michigan has long moved past the rural
cities of the 1800 s and into affluent suburbs and cities. The size and taxation pools of cities have
greatly changed from 1809 to 1985, but the way schools were funded remained exactly the same. This
lack of change led to a large disparity in school funding from richer districts to poorer districts.
Coupled together with local governments inability to convince citizens to vote in favor of millages and
tax hikes, the disparity ballooned. In 1993, Bloomfield Hills ranked in the 99th percentile of Michigan
schools, was spending on average $10,294 per student, while Standish Sterling ranked in the bottom
1st percentile, spent $3,738 per student, roughly a $6,500 difference per student (Roy 2003). This
inconsistency greatly disadvantaged students all the way to 95th percentile, where there

24. James Baldwin s Remember This House By James Baldwin
James baldwin was an American novelist, essayist, playwright, poet, and social critic. His essays were
mostly of racial, sexual, and class distinctions in Western societies, mostly in mid 20th century
America. Some of Baldwin s essays are book length, for instance The Fire Next Time (1963), No
Name in the Street (1972), and The Devil Finds Work (1976). An unfinished manuscript, Remember
This House, was expanded upon and adapted for cinema as the Academy Award nominated
documentary film I Am Not Your Negro. Writer and playwright James Baldwin was born August 2,
1924, in Harlem, New York. One of the 20th century s greatest writers, Baldwin broke new literary
ground with the exploration of racial and social issues in his many works. He was especially well
known for his essays on the black experience in America.
Baldwin was born to a young single mother, Emma Jones, at Harlem Hospital. She reportedly never
told him the name of his biological father. Jones married a Baptist minister named David Baldwin
when James was about three years old. Despite their strained relationship, he followed in his
stepfather s footsteps who he always referred to as his father during his early teen years. He served as
a youth minister in a Harlem Pentecostal church from the ages of 14 to 16.
Baldwin developed a passion for reading at an early age, and demonstrated a gift for writing during
his school years. He attended DeWitt Clinton High School in the Bronx, where he worked on the

25. The Black And Colored People
The problem in the communities of the black and colored people in America is there need to feel equal
to their dominator. What happens with the black and colored people is they succumb to lower levels
than they are worth and capable of to appease the problem. For example during the separate but equal
era black business were booming, Black Wall Street was thriving, and black children were just as
smart if not smarter than their other counter parts. Not by choice but because they had to be in order to
compete the same is true today but less so. Their education was not monitored and didn t have to be
white washed because it was ran by the people that looked and lived like them. During desegregation
the life of American African people changed forever, in some ways for better and other ways for the
worse.
Integration was the turning point in the wrong direction for black people in my opinion. This was the
start of internalized colonization done by European Americans. The American Africans have become
assimilated and very docile or overconformity as Ruth Caven would say, to European culture. In doing
this some black leaders will go out of their way not to step on the toes of European Americans because
they feel a closeness and familiarity. This feeling of closeness hinders the ability to call them on the
carpet for slavery, segregation, and all the other crimes up to date. In beating around the bush the
problem cannot be addressed in any way shape or form. Not talking about

You can clearly see before you begin to read these poems that they are set out differently to your

He says he is interested in the political nature of voice in British culture .
The poem is carefully written in a phonetic version of the Glasgow accent. If you pronounce it exactly
as it s written, it should sound more or less like a Glaswegian voice. Tom Leonard has played with
language in a number of ways, apart from the phonetic spelling: there is almost no punctuation, there
are lots of slang and colloquial words like scruff and belt up , the newsreader talks directly to the
reader .
Tom Leonard is arguing that this is the way the media thinks about him. He believes that the media see
the viewers in Glasgow, or indeed the viewers in most other parts of Britain, as scruffs . Which isn t
fair and is a form of racism. The humour has a satirical edge, he uses humour to make serious
criticisms.

33. Learning Disabled Students With Learning Disabilities Essay
A learning disabled student not only suffers from being below average in academics, but in many
cases these students suffer with mental illnesses. Students with learning disabilities have lower self
determination in academics and struggle in post secondary education (Jameson, 2007). Higher levels
of anxiety and test taking anxiety can additionally be found in students with learning disabilities
(Nelson, Lindstrom, Foels, 2015). Studies also show that students with learning disabilities have a
higher rate of depression (Ashraf, Najam, 2015). Why are learning disabled individuals struggling
with self worth? The extreme social pressures everyone faces daily has a negative affect students with
learning disabilities. Students with learning disabilities are self conscious of their impairment. Schools
should not only focus on giving extra academic assistances to students with learning disabilities, but
also give resources to help fight mental illness in these students. Students who have learning
disabilities should not suffer from low self determination, anxiety, and depression. There will be
discussion on why these students suffer at a higher rate from mental illness, and discuss a solution to
this issue. Social pressure is a feeling that every human being has experienced. Humans are naturally
social, and be it consciously or subconsciously, all humans want to fit it. Social pressures come in
many forms, such as peer pressure, socioeconomic pressure, and academic pressure.

For my cultural plunge, I decided to sit in at a birth mothers care group for women who decided to
give their child or children up for adoption. This care group is one of many care groups held by Crisis
Pregnancy Outreach. Crisis Pregnancy Outreach, or CPO is a nonprofit organization assisting women
in crisis, such as those experiencing unplanned pregnancies. Their main mission is to help woman find
alternate solutions to unplanned pregnancies that do not result in abortion.
Each week women gather at Christian Chapel, a church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to meet with mentors to
discuss what they endured that week. There are several different care groups. The most attended
groups are the parenting and birth mothers groups. I decided to sit in at a birth mothers group, which
was uncomfortable for me. This care group is held for birth mothers who have gave their child or
children up for adoption. Some of the birth mothers experience open adoption, meaning they have
some form of communication with their birth children. Although some birth mothers obtain closed
adoptions, where they have no communication with their birth children.
This experience was very eye opening for me. I cannot relate to any of these women because I have no
children, nor am I a product of adoption. It was truly amazing to hear each of their testimonies. One

35. Development Of Identity And Journey
Identity Many people believe that a journey leads to a development of identity, of who we are as a
person. Along the same lines, our values and characteristics evolve over time, as we make changes
throughout our lives. Therefore, the liaison that identity and journey, share is a journey of obstacles
and internal and external trials. Thus, helping us grow by maturing and helps develop valuable life
skills as a result, learning new experiences. This journey will help us see what makes us different from
one another and whom we want to identify. Throughout this journey, we will develop qualities and go
through failure. The failures will help us not to give up, but keep going, and that is going to be a key
point on shaping our identity. For example, this will help us identify if we are a strong or weak
minded. This odyssey may aid you by appreciating life and finding peace in the things that made you
miserable. Furthermore, journey and identity connect because we have to go through an internal,
external, and transformative journey to shape our identity to self define, who and what we are. In other
words, how this journey sets us apart from other people. First, to identify who we are as a person we
must go through an internal journey on why it shapes our identity to self define who we are. For
example, an internal journey will give us a sense of unique individuality. Thus, how we evolve during
this journey, like how we change on the inside. For instance, our emotional path will
