Rhetorical Analysis Of Homemade Is The New Organic By...
Rhetorical Analysis
Nowadays, many people start living a healthy lifestyle. People realize an importance of caring about
what is in their food and benefits of home cooked meals over processed food. Home Cooking is not
just healthier, but also it has tons of benefits. Simple examples are saving money, controlling body
weight and avoiding food poisoning. Homemade is the New Organic written by Rachel Jones for the
Atlantic (2015), discussed the new food trend cooking at home. In her article, she explained how
cooking is becoming popular recently. An earlier time, a family which has low income had no choice
but to use homemade food. Today, however, meaning of homemade food changes. People start to
appreciate the goodness of cooking at home and intentionally choose the homemade. Moreover, she
mentioned that social media has a huge effect on this change. Since we have all the necessary tools
and food in our kitchen, only a bit of time needs to be devoted. Basically, she tried to inform a general
public that home cooking has an essential value in our life. In my opinion, Rachel successfully
achieves her intention with the help of following rhetorical strategies: logos, ethos and counterpoint.
First, Rachel adopts logos to illustrate the emerging importance of homemade meals to the audience.
In other words, using general reasoning and facts, she tried to make her article more persuading. In the
beginning of the article, she acknowledges her personal facts to demonstrate her

David Reiger Case
 In a matter of hours, Julie Taylor, director of Human Resources at Danville Airlines in Milwaukee,
Wisconsin, would have to make a difficult recommendation to the airline s board of directors.
 One of the airline s best pilots, David Reiger, 42, had recently lost his father to Huntington s
disease, a progressive, inherited neurological disorder that causes severe movement disorder and
eventual dementia.
 Danville officials had been concerned about Reiger s susceptibility to Huntington s. In a routine
blood test for alcohol and drug use, Danville had determined after discreetly sending the blood
elsewhere to be tested that Reiger did indeed have the gene for Huntington s disease. That meant that,
at some point, Reiger would develop the disease. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

5. Make a decision and defend it: allow him to fly or ground him?
ETHICAL ANALYSIS:
UTILITARIANISM: Utilitarianism argues that one should act in a way that produces the greatest good
for the greatest number of people.
 Understand the risk:We have to understand what if we allow David Rieger to fly and suddenly he
get sick and can t able to fly. There are more than 500 passengers, we can t take the risk of 500
passengers just for one person. Utilitarianism theory implement on this case study that act in a way
that produces greatest good for the greatest number of people which are the passengers, in any
organization or business we things customers safety first, we can t compromise on it.
 Employee s values: Consider that David Rieger is one of the best pilot of Danville Airlines, we can
t fire him just because of the disease symptoms. Taylor have to find out a way where she can think

Compensation Plan for Kudler Foods Organization
COMPENSATION PLAN 13 Compensation Plan for Kudler Foods Organization Components of a
compensation plan for Kudler Foods Introduction The components and general structure of any
business firm could lead to disconnection of the relationship between managers and their employees.
It is, therefore, necessary that Kudler Foods adopt a well defined strategy, which will protect the
relationship. The composition of the compensation plan for Kudler was developed with the needs and
efforts in mind. For Kudler Foods Organization, the Human Resource Managers planned for a strategy
that would include all necessary components. The compensation plan for the organization included the
base pay, short term incentives, long term incentives and benefits for employees, plans for retirement
and finally the equity element (Tibergien Pomering, 2011). The components are discussed in detail, in
the proceeding paragraphs. Base pay most of individuals working in the Kudler Foods Organization
will be compensated on the base pay. This component allows that employees be paid using the fair
market value for different positions. Individuals working for Kudler Foods will earn according to their
duties and obligations in the firm. This typically means that the more one works for income generation
for the firm, the more the income. Those with lesser responsibilities will have to accept lower
remunerations. Short term incentives this component provides the extra pay, including bonuses, for

Personal Responsibility and College Success
Personal responsibility requires one to accept that every action, thought, decision, victory, and defeat
in life ultimately is reliant upon and impacts them directly. When an individual accepts personal
responsibility to be a college student, they are making a commitment to themself and taking
ownership of their goals and ambitions. Personal responsibility and college success are closely related
because as a student, the individual ultimately controls their college success. Developing a preliminary

So, having that motivation to succeed is the most important reason an individual has to be personally
responsible and has college success. My Preliminary Plan to Practice Personal Responsibility in My
Education The preliminary plan for personal responsibility in my education is to be prepared and use
all of my resources. This preparation includes talking with my family about ways they can help me
balance household, work, and school obligations. The importance of time management cannot be
understated; I will need to schedule chunks of time to devote to schoolwork in a place where I will not
be interrupted. Macan, Shahani, Dipboye, and Phillips (1990) state that time management consists of
three factors: (1) the setting of goals and priorities, (2) the mechanics of time management (e.g.,
making lists, scheduling), and (3) a preference for organization. Additionally, the utilization of an
electronic calendar is a major tool to assist me and keep me on schedule. I can very much plan out the
day on my blackberry, or in outlook, and set schedules, set reminders, add due dates for assignments
to make sure I meet those due dates. Personal responsibility goes hand in hand with this because I
basically have my personal, professional, and school calendar all in one place. Many articles have
been written in business journals about the success of having an electronic calendar. I believe knowing
these things in the preliminary plan stages of my

Pan Am 103 By Max Gaines
Pan Am 103
Max Gaines
Middle Tennessee State University
Abstract
Pan Am flight 103 was just a normal routine transatlantic flight that took off from San Francisco and
was en route to London for its first layover. The flight took place on December 21st, 1988. Pan Am
flight 103 was on its transatlantic leg when it was blown into pieces by a bomb. The explosion killed
all 259 passengers on board and took 11 lives on the ground in Lockerbie, Scotland. Right after the
crash everyone believed it to be a terrorist attack. It took a three year investigation from the FBI until
they found the link to two Liberian nationalists. In 1999, Gaddafi finally handed over the two men for
trial. One of the men was sentenced to life in prison. He ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The airport only had one NOTAM that the crew needed to worry about there was some construction
going on the outer taxiway. This had no factor at all on the crew or the accident. The departure was
just like any other departure. Everything was routine and nothing seemed out of the ordinary. (NTSB,
1988)
The Boeing 747 took runaway 27R and began its route to New York Kennedy at 1825 hours Zulu, just
21 minutes after being pushed back from gate Kilo 14. When flight 103 took off they were tracking
the Burnham VOR. As they started to approach the Burnham VOR, the Boeing 747 changed to a
heading of 350 degrees. They were then cleared up to FL 120 and then to their cruising altitude of FL
310. Once the Boeing 747 obtained their cruising altitude of FL 310, they were North West of the Pole
Hill VOR about 26 minutes after takeoff. Approximately 7 minutes later, Shanwick Oceanic Control
transmitted the aircraft s oceanic clearance but this transmission was not acknowledged (NTSB,
1988). During the second transmission, flight 103 disappeared from the radar. The radar then picked
up two different trails of debris from the aircraft explosion. Some debris went as far as the east coast
of England. When the explosion occurred, the winds were between 250 degrees and 260 degrees and
were around 115 kts at FL 310. As the altitude decreased so did the wind strength. At FL 100 the

Call Of Duty Zombies Essay
Call of Duty Zombies is a side game mode developed by Treyarch. It was introduced as a game mode
after you beat campaign in Call of Duty World at War. Its first map was named Nacht Der Untoten,
German for night of the living dead. It was based off the map airfield. It featured a player which
survive endless hordes of zombies until they die. They had to get points by killing zombies and
rebuilding barriers. With points you could by doors and points. When more maps were made we got
perks, drinks that power up the player. The game mode was just for fun until the released the 3rd DLC
pack for World at War. The new map Der Riese or The Giant made a story. The Zombies story is
interesting topic that just reached a end in 2016 with its final map, Revelations.
The Giant gave us more information about our four characters Richtofen, Dempsey, Nikolai, and
Takeo. We learn that the zombie outbreak started when Richtofen and group 935 try to make an
undead army to help the Nazi s win World War II. Instead the test subjects turn against the scientists.
When Richtofen tries to kill his partner, Dr. Maxis and his daughter Samantha, they teleport to
different places. Maxis becomes a robot and Samantha walks into Agartha, the device that lets people

The Juvenile Justice System And Juveniles
When it comes to discussing the criminal justice system and juveniles, there have been many
landmark cases that have made a significant impact on the juvenile justice system. The cases arise
from dealing with certain aspects that comes from handling juveniles entering the system. Since
juveniles are very different from adults they have to deal with them a certain way and a case by case
basis. The court cases concerning juveniles and the decisions that have come from them is what has
made what the juvenile justice system is today. Juveniles are not treated the same as adults since
juveniles are not ad developed as adults common sense wise. They don t always know what is right
from wrong and sometimes they do not have guidance or good influences around them helping them
in the right direction. In class we have learned that instead of punishing them, the goal of the juvenile
justice system is based on rehabilitation. For instance, juveniles cannot be sentenced to death if under
the age of 18 and also can not be given the sentences of life without parole because they consider
these punishments cruel and unusual for juveniles. If the system is able to rehabilitate them and give
them the tools they need, they have a second chance at changing their lives for the better and getting
away from all of the crimes. They rather try to send them to programs or to complete community
service to better themselves instead of giving them hard time. The court cases that I will discuss is

Community Experience At An Alcoholics Anonymous ( Aa )
Community Experience Paper
How you found the process (the ease/difficulty) of accessing your group. For the consumer, what
might be challenges in finding and/or following through with going and committing to the group you
went to? (Discuss potential practical and/or psychological obstacles.)
I attended an Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meeting on Tuesday, April 28th at 6:00 pm at the St.
Francis Medical Center (SFMC) conference room 5. I found the process of accessing the group I
attended easy. I used the website: http://coloradospringsaa.org/find a meeting. By entering a few
parameters, I was able to locate a meeting within a few miles of my house. For the consumer, the
challenge might not be in finding a location to meet their needs but simply following through and
committing to attend a meeting. The meeting does not hold its members accountable for their presence
(i.e., no attendance is taken). Participation is solely comprised of the self dedication on the part of
those maintaining sobriety. Moreover, attending a meeting is a lifelong commitment. This may pose as
a hindrance or tedious task to devote time away from work, social, or family commitments. A client
may easily persuade themselves out of going in light of a more appealing alternative.
Describe what the group s purpose is. Was the stated purpose clear (written and/or verbally stated) and
was that consistent with the experience you had? Was there a focus topic during your group? If so,
what was that topic?

Healthcare Risk Management ( Hrm )
Healthcare risk management ( HRM) began in the late 1970s when hospitals are facing a malpractice
crisis (Kavaler Alexander, 2014). According to Kavaler and Alexander (2014), it is estimated more
than 140,000 Americans die from medical errors and the cost ranges between $17 billion and $29
billion each year in the United States (Kavaler Alexander, 2014). In this essay, the student will explain
a healthcare risk management program, evaluate the program for compliance with the American
Society for Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM), and Examine the administrative process of
management the risk program.
The HRM is described as a systematic attempt to recognize, evaluate, and decrease the risk for
patients, visitors, staff, and institutional assets. In another word, The HRM is a program created to
reduce the incidence of preventable events and injuries to decrease the financial loss to the
organization institution should cause an injury or accident occurs (Kavaler Alexander, 2014). The
ASHRM, which is organized by the American Hospital Association, establishes four steps method to
achieve the objective. The steps are 1. Risk identification. 2. Risk analysis. 3. Risk treatment which
includes Risk control and Risk financing. 4. Evaluation of risk treatment strategies (Effective Health
Care Risk Management Programs. n.d.). According to Kavaler and Alexander ( 2014), Risk
identification involves the gathering of data about present and prior patient care occurrences and

First Battle Of Ypres Essay
The last allied defensive line which stood in the way of the Germans from setting foot on english
territory resided in Ypres, Belgium. This was the last defence against the German army s race to the
sea. The significance of this battle for the allied forces, including the belgian army was the importance
of Ypres as it represented the last significant settlement in belgium before the battle would have leaked
into France, or the Atlantic Ocean. The German army lacked morality as they annihilated the city of
Ypres in the process of counter battery. The social impact for the allied forces was positive since the
battle was a victory, although it was a costly battle for both sides. The allied forces pushed the German
forces farther back into belgium which was problematic and demoralizing for the Germans due to their

throughout the world. The military consequences for the first battle of Ypres were many. I think that
both armies started to understand how the style of warfare used was not very effective considering the
amount of casualties on both sides. I believe that this battle was important for the war because it was
the first real turning point in the war. The allied victory in the first battle of Ypres stopped the
advancing German troops from entering french territory. IIt also restricted their access to the english
channel which is what would let them bring the war to english territory. My overall opinion on the
first battle of Ypres is that the battle was essential to geographically containing the

Aggression In Martha Stewart And Everybody Loves Raymond
On the television there is way too much negativity that influence the youth and adults mind when we
do not even know what is going on. The three television programs I observed had the following:
physical, verbal, and relational (bullying). In the television show Martha Stewart she had few
aggression in her show. In The Fairly Oddparents, it had way more aggression than Martha Stewart
and Everybody Loves Raymond. Now Everybody Loves Raymond has fewer more tv agressions than
Martha Stewart. What is put on the television for the young and adults has an affect on our minds.
The show Martha Stewart had not so much physical aggression in the show. When it came to verbal
there was a lot more aggression there. The relational (bullying) was less than the verbal aggression.
There was only two tally mark that rated the physical aggression for this show. In physical aggression
Martha Stewart will act like a celebrity and just joke around thinking it would not hurt them and think
it is a harmless game. For verbal aggression there was six tally marks that was a ranking. In the show

President Fdr s New Deal
At the peak of the Great Depression in 1932 the unemployment rate stood at 25 percent and the Dow
Jones Average sunk to a mere 34, indicating severe economic distress.1 Millions of individuals were
starving on the streets and billions of dollars were lost in the stock market. When Franklin Roosevelt
released the New Deal in 1933, a plan to provide relief, reform, and recovery to the distressed country,
Americans were in dire need of relief. Recognizing that something had to be done quickly, President
FDR implemented a series of programs to immediately mitigate the effects of the Depression. By
focusing on programs to aid business and labor, farmers, housing and homeowners, banks and the
stock market, and the youth of America, FDR attempted to provide the immediate relief from the
Great Depression that America so desperately needed. Although some of the programs in the New
Deal were more successful than others, they succeeded as a whole in providing the short term relief
that America needed to survive the Great Depression. The first major relief program for businesses
and labor was the Federal Emergency Relief Act. Released in 1933, the FERA created the Federal
Emergency Relief Administration, an agency that not only distributed federal aid to states for relief,
but also provided state directed work to boost the morale of the recipients.2 As Harry Hopkins,
advisor to FDR on work relief programs stated about FERA, Give him a job and pay him an assured

School Librarian Standards
Introduction In a world with a rapid expansion of knowledge and information, school librarians are
challenged to establish an efficient and effective program utilizing a variety of methods. Choosing an
occupation as an information specialists requires a thorough understanding of the numerous
requirements essential to adequately furnish sufficient services for all stakeholders. The school library
has grown far beyond the book collection to include information in a wide variety of formats and an
ever changing array of technologies (Woolls, Weeks, and Coatney, 2014, p. 40). By abiding to the five

identify the significance of students becoming literate and its substantial benefits for twenty first
century learners.
Information and Knowledge
Information literacy and the associated skills are a well known commodity in a school librarian s
world. Information specialists are charged with various methods, processes, and means to guide
students in their information seeking strategies. One the leading methods commonly practiced is
Guided Inquiry where students learn a step by step procedure to determine, locate, use, and digest
information needed to answer an inquiry and/or complete a task (Kuhlthau, Maniotes, Caspari, 2007).
Hamilton (2009), reports that education is now comprised of multiple literacies causing a shift towards
inquiry based learning. Due to the transformation based on digital, visual, technological, and textual
advancements, school librarians are essential in students obtaining a foundation for information
literacy.
Advocacy and Leadership
School librarians are a large propionate in a successful library program through their guidance and
promotion with all stakeholders. The Library Advocate s Handbook guides librarians in strengthening

Logan International Airport Case Study
MGCR 472: Operation Management
Executive Summary
This report provides an analysis and evaluation of the current and prospective delay problems of
Logan International Airport at Boston, Massachusetts. Method of analysis includes waiting line
simulation and historical data tracking as well as response from both local community and Massport.
Results of the data show that the major causes to delay are broken down in the following:
1. Increasing demand for annual operations
2. Adverse weather conditions, especially the northwest wind which Logan airport is not designed to
accommodate at normal capacity.
3. Continuous heavy air traffic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If Turboprops and regional airplanes were to be diverted then their delay time would only be 10
minutes in adverse weather conditions. As the delay time would be significantly reduced for regional
and turboprops in this scenario, we believe that the small planes would be willing to make the switch.
This would also free up capacity by 56% at Logan airport so that the conventional planes would also
have a decreased delay time of 22 minutes as compared to an infinite wait time (Figure 2).
However, while this alternative might be favorable in the short term, it is rather unfeasible over the
long term as there would be a significant passenger cost in terms of loss of goodwill. We assume that
the loss of goodwill would be similar to the passenger cost of $30.9/passenger/hour and we include a
car rental cost of $9/passenger/hour for a total passenger switching cost of $40/passenger/hour.
Passengers would likely be upset at arriving at a different location resulting in many inconveniences
and additional costs incurred. If this happens on a regular basis, Logan airport s reputation will be hurt
and this may adversely affect its revenue as well.

Building a new runway 14/32 (one end at 320 degrees facing the NW and the other at 140 degree

The Portrait Of The British Royal And Prince Albert With...
The portrait of the British royal family Queen Victoria and Prince Albert with Five of Their Children
was painted by a German painter named Franz Xaver Winterhal. He was widely known for his
beautiful and elaborated portraits of royal women. The portrait of Queen Victoria and her family is
Wintergal s less well known portrait, but it is still very detailed image. In the artwork, the queen and
the prince are centered with their children surrounding them. Both are dressed in exquisite formal
wear decorated with a blue sash across their chest. Next to Queen Victoria is the young prince dressed
in red garment, who is looking at Prince Albert. On the right side of Prince Albert are two of their
daughters dressed in white dresses who are peering over an infant that is staring at something. While
in front of the queen and prince is another girl that is trying to walk. In the background of the painting,
it shows an open backdrop revealing a cloudy, blue sky with an ocean that stretches out in the
distance. Although this painting is not well known, it still portrays a sense of understanding of the
royal family. In the same context, all paintings or artworks holds its very own importance depending
on the eye of the beholder looking at the artwork, as it will be interpret by what knowledge they have

My Personal Statement Of One Phone Call
Who would have thought that one phone call could change my whole life? I recall I was in the kitchen
grabbing a snack from the fridge when my phone rang. I remember that before even hanging up with
Ms. Rola, I found all my family around me hugging and congratulating me. I couldn t believe it at
first. After years of hard work, I made it to AUB with a full scholarship to a major that I always had a
passion in. Something to be proud of, right? I was thrilled, but scared at the same time. I knew that
AUB will be a big challenge, a different environment with different people and a different lifestyle.
Nevertheless, I was up for it. I always wanted to become an AUB student yet it was a burden to afford
such prestigious education, knowing that my father is the only breadwinner of the family. He used to
always tell me: Do not worry about the money, everything will work out eventually , but I knew that
he was just comforting me. By the time I got the call, I was already planning my next year at a public
university. I still remember my father s face the moment he knew about the scholarship as he hugged
me and whispered to me that he is very proud of my achievements.
The first few days at AUB were weird. People here were different! I was lost and I didn t know
anybody here. The whole campus gave me a hard time but I was determined to make it through.
During my sophomore year, I had the chance to be involved in multiple community service activities.

A Speech Congress, Frank Bowe, A Highly Educated Deaf Man
Individuals with disability have had a long history of maltreatment in America. From being thought of
as possessed individuals in need of exorcism, targeted for heinous experiments, unknowingly
sterilized, being labeled imbecile, feeble minded, and retarded, to being shipped off to state schools or
mental asylums, those with disabilities were given no consideration as a valuable and able to
contribute member of society. In a speech to congress, Frank Bowe, a highly educated deaf man
highlighted this claim by stating, we are not even second class citizens, we are third class citizens
(Bowe, F. 1977 need citation), and Jim Cherry (2001) furthered the ideal in his words, that prior to
1970 we [disabled citizens] had no right to education, to employment, to transportation, to housing, or
to voting. There were no civil rights laws for us, no federal advocacy grants. Few people looked
beyond our medical needs (Cherry, J.L, 2001

1973 attempted to fundamentally change how disabled people were reguarded.

The Social Network Is A Product Of Our Time Essay
The social network is a product of our time and a timely comment on how we live now.
At the end of David Fincher s film, The Social Network, Sean Parker sums up the progress of today s
society we lived on farms, then we lived on cities, and now we are going to live on the internet .
Narrated through parallel story lines; the process of creating Facebook and the resulting lawsuits
between Zuckerberg and Saverin and the Winklevoss Twins and Diva Nirendera. The film re tells the
story of the birth of Facebook, created by Mark Zuckerberg and his associates, Eduardo Saverin and
Sean Parker. The idea of human interest is explored throughout, in the lasting consequences that
jealousy, greed and betrayal has on relationships. Through this Fincher provides a critique of how
today s society connects. The realism of the film, created thorough costuming, dialogue and lighting
accentuates the need for real relationships, messy and vulnerable though they are, compared to
disconnected virtual ones which lack warmth and authenticity. Fincher provokes the audience to
question their own lives and asks if a society that lives on the internet is a good direction to head.
The opening scenes of the film introduce Mark Zuckerberg, the most enigmatic character in the film
who comes to symbolise the disconnection that society has come to associate with generation Y. The
film opens with Mark Zuckerberg and girlfriend, Erica Albright, sitting in a bar. Quick, intense
conversation introduce the

Generally, the writing of this report was easy to follow and was structured in a way in which it told a

The Origins Of The Origin Of Philosophy
The origins of philosophy began with the dynamic question of What if? followed by intellectual
reasoning for the ways of the world. To look past the general purpose of life and the things that come
with it; is when a new philosophy is discovered. The first recorded philosopher came about early on in
the sixth century B.C.E. His name was Thales of Miletus or what is now Turkey. The first three
philosophers, Thales, Anaximander, and Anaximenes, are known as the Milesians because they all
came from the Greek colony of Miletus on the Persian coast and because they constitute the first
school of philosophy. (Pg. 24) However, little is known about Thales due to the fact, there weren t any
pieces of literature connecting to him. However, he did make it known that everything is
fundamentally made up of water. This belief went against the theological perspectives of Greek
mythology, introducing a more scientific view of the cosmos. Thales made it known that he wanted to
find the Arche or unifying principle that linked every aspect of life together. According to Thales,
water is the one and only Arche.
Two of Thales successors and fellow Milesians, Anaximander and Anaximenes based their beliefs off
of Thales philosophy. However, they didn t seem to agree with Thales ideology of everything being
broken down to water. Anaximander completely dismissed the idea of the four primary elements,
earth, wind, fire, and water being the Arche. He believed the elements could not be the Arche,

Dwight D. Eisenhower s Leadership During World War II
This world of ours . . . must avoid becoming a community of dreadful fear and hate, and be, instead, a
proud confederation of mutual trust and respect ( Dwight D. Eisenhower ). As a military leader during
World War II, Dwight D. Eisenhower understood the importance of mutual trust and respect which
allowed him to thrive as a leader. Consequently, Eisenhower was the most influential leader: he helped
make decisions in Washington during the beginning of the war, he helped plan invasions on multiple
fronts, he had all the right qualities of a leader with many following his command, and despite the
amount of influence Hitler had, Eisenhower was more influential being able to win the war for the
Allied Forces. Before the United States started ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Stephen E. Ambrose quotes Sergeant Major Claude Harris who says, Despite [Eisenhower s] youth, he
possessed a high understanding of organization . . . This principle built for him high admiration and
loyalty from his officers perhaps unequaled by few commanding officers. Strong leaders need respect
and loyalty to get people to follow them. Eisenhower was one of few who had both qualities. This
allowed him to gain the trust of thousands. Having people who followed his command openly,
willingly, and easily allowed Eisenhower to influence multiple decisions. After the decisions were
made, the trust, loyalty, and respect Eisenhower had coming from those who were affected by the
decisions allowed Eisenhower to remain influential with the people continually following his
commands. For example, when Eisenhower ordered a soldier to hold a position, the soldier would not
willingly surrender unlike some soldiers during the war. He also understood what was happening and
the fallout certain decisions could cause in a way that gave him the ability to make calls that boosted
the Allies. With every good call he made came the opportunity to make another decision. Eisenhower
s qualities made him a leader with a lot of influence during the

How Did Galileo Contribute To The Scientific Revolution
Galileo was a mathematician, astronomer, physicist, and teacher who played a major role in the
scientific revolution during the Renaissance Era. Galileo put the concepts of experiments, theory and
mathematics together to advance the scientific world. He is often referred to the Father of Science.
Galileo was born February 15, 1564 in Pisa in the Duchy of Florence, Italy. He was the first of six
children born of Giulia Ammannati and Vincenzo Galilei, a musician and music theorist. His family
moved to Florence in 1574 where he started his education at the Camaldolse Monastery in
Vallombrosa. In 1583, Galileo attended the University of Pisa to study medicine; he was exposed to an
Aristotelian view of the world. In 1585, he left the University of Pisa before earning his degree. After
he left, he still continued to study mathematics while he was away from the university. In 1586,
Galileo published his first scientific book, The Little Balance , which described Archimedes method of

Galileo discovered the principle of inertia. He used the balls rolling on an inclined plane experiment,
which means that the balls on an inclined plan would roll to the same position as the initial position.
Galileo also experimented with free falling objects. Aristotle believed that when two objects are
dropped, the heavier object will hit the ground before the lighter object. Galileo proved that theory to
be incorrect when he dropped objects from the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and noticed that objects fall to
the ground at the same time if air resistance is negligible. This experiment helped him come up with
the concept of acceleration. Galileo also proposed the first Theory of Relativity and stated that there is
no physical way to differentiate between a body moving at a constant speed and an immobile body. He
also attempted to measure the speed of light, but discovered that light moved to

Migraine Essay
I have had migraines since I was 5 years old. At first my migraine disorder was episodic, meaning I
had fewer than 15 attacks a month. After college, I started working at an incredibly challenging job,
and the stresses of the real world hit me hard. Since then my disorder has become chronic, and I have
migraines almost every single day.
To this day, stress is one of my biggest triggers. My migraines vary in levels of pain, but are an all
over extreme stabbing, pulsing, squeezing, searing head pain that s difficult to describe if you haven t
experienced one. With the head pain comes severe neck and shoulder tension, stomach issues, visual

Dealing with mom guilt
Almost all moms experience some sort of guilt when it comes to parenting, and those of us with
chronic illness are no exception. Being a mom isn t easy. Being a mom with chronic illness feels
almost impossible sometimes.
My guilt revolves around not being able to be the super mom I always imagined myself being.
But over the years, I had to give up on the desire to be the perfect mother and simply allow my
children to see me as human. I m not perfect, I m not always healthy, and I can t always do the things I
want. This is my reality, and the truth is that all parents have to do the best that we can with what we
have and be gentle with ourselves in the process.
I feel guilty for missing events and milestones. I missed my daughter s first dentist appointment, and it
felt like I was the worst mom. Guess what? She has had many, many more appointments that I ve been

The Marxist And Feminist Perspectives
The marxist and feminist perspectives are both are utilized to gain a deeper understanding of
literature. The feminist lens deals with the role of gender within literature, and the marxist lens focuses
on the context of culture and society within literature. Each perspective plays off the other to create a
cohesive approach to analyzing Brave New World. Aldous Huxley s Brave New World highlights the
issues associated with a society with a disproportional basis in manufactured social structures. These
dysfunctional social structures are created through a fundamental irony: knowledge both unities and
destroys humanity. Huxley shows mankind, for the first time in history, united; however, the
knowledge and intellect that created this ever lasting peace is also the same factor that stripped
mankind of everything that makes it human. Aldous Huxley s dystopian society, within Brave New
World, shows that knowledge is the unifying and destroying thread of humanity through the fabricated
social hierarchy and preconditioned gender roles.
The underpinning of Huxley s Brave New World is the unifying thread of mankind: knowledge.
Through the course of history, mankind has struggled to find and maintain peace. However, in Huxley
s vision of the future mankind has developed, manufactured, and fostered peace all through the
knowledge gained from generations past. Mankind has three fundamental factors that drive it and are
called the functions of life: assimilation, excitation, [and]

When someone refers a tattoo by a body art, I know that they somewhat either have some themselves

conversation was around two adults about one of their teenager, don t ask me if it was a teenage boy

confident, seemed more relaxed than the other! The calm guy mentioned body arts while the other was

Surprise, surprise, the one that said body arts had two sleeves while the other didn t have any visible

Evaluating Restaurants
(1) Discussion Question 2 1
What types of performance measurements might be used to evaluate a restaurant?
I believe that types of performance measurements are used to evaluate a restaurant are quality of
customer service, financial performance, price of meals, quality of food, customer satisfaction, and
operation management. Many people use Yelp to find a restaurant when we want to try a new
restaurant. Yelp has pictures and comments by customers. Most of time customers talk about food and
quality of service. I think that customer satisfaction is the most important to evaluate a restaurant
because it is directly related to their profit. Even though they have great food and cost, there are no
repeating customers with poor performing waitresses/waiters.

Development Of Sexual And Abnormal Fetishes
Development of Sexual Fetishes Sexual fetishes are a form of intense arousal due to a fixation of an
inanimate object or a specific human characteristic. Types of fetishes can be viewed as acceptable and
others can be seen as abnormal based on societal standards. However, the unknown factor of these
fetishes is whether they are innate or adapted throughout the course of life. The factors that make up
the defining line between normal and abnormal fetishes are somewhat undetermined, however, it is
interesting to study whether the causes of both share similarities in their development. These fetishes
can create changes in social behavior, thinking and overall function. There is no definitive way to
determine which fetishes are normal and which ones are abnormal, however, the commonality of these
fetishes can be evaluated by society and the frequency of them. A study was done to attempt to define
what makes up an unusual sexual fantasy. The experiment was done through an internet survey of over
1,500 participants. The goal was to determine sexual fantasies that were common and narrow down
the ones that were rare according to the statistics. One of the most important statements from this
article discusses the difficulty in categorizing fantasies as normal or abnormal. The conclusion of the
experiment is that Care should be taken before labeling an SF as unusual, let alone deviant. It
suggested that the focus should be on the effect of a sexual fantasy rather than its content

Mrs Helenne Alving And Ghosts
Plenty published by David Hare in 1978 and Ghosts published by Henrik Ibsen in 1881, might have
almost a gap of hundred years in publication, but they are both plays that attest the intertemporal issue
of society s pressure on the woman. In the notes of A Doll s house, in 1878, Ibsen writes A woman
cannot be herself in contemporary society, it is an exclusively male society with laws drafted by men,
and with counsel and judges who judge feminine conduct from the male point of view. The female
protagonist in Ghosts, Mrs Helene Alving, has been influenced by the society s need of forming
women that are first, obedient daughters, then, obedient wives, dutiful mothers, but in general,
obedient individuals of that society s ideals, conventions and traditions. In Plenty, the audience gets to
examine years of Susan Traherne s life, from her World War II activity as a courier in the French
Renaissance to her emotional privation in the post Suez British plenty . Even after the war, Susan
cannot sustain a fulfilling life since the society s ideals and conventions disharmonize with her own
opinions and purpose. The common element between Mrs Alving and Susan is that as women they are
expected to fit into a certain role in the real life, directed by the society itself, a life that diminishes
their personal fulfilment.
To begin with, Ghosts is a play that does not solely examine the society s pressure on the women, but
the impact of society on every individual regardless of gender.

Aliesha Seamons Mrs.Miller English 12A 15 September, 2016 On March 1, 1872, President Ulysses
S. Grant signed a law making Yellowstone National Park out of 3,468 square miles of land in
Wyoming, Idaho and Montana. The people of the United States wanted to preserve the land to let
future generations see the shooting geysers, bubbling hot pots, forests full of towering lodgepole
pines, sparkling lakes, and magnificent views of the stars at night. Of course, the land supported
unique animals such as bison, bald eagles, elk, grizzly bears, and wolves. However within the first 50
years of being open, the wolves were hunted to extinction. They were gone from the park for over 70
years. At that time, scientists and forest rangers realized that the absence of wolves causing problems
in the ecosystem; the elk population had grown out of control. Therefore, in 1995 the Fish and Game
Department reintroduced wolves, which has benefited the Yellowstone ecosystem in many ways.
However, the farmer and ranchers feel negatively about the reintroduction, feeling that wolves do
nothing other than wreak havoc on livestock and pose a dangerous threat to those visiting the park.
The wolves appear as a threat to the ecosystem of Yellowstone National Park, however they play a
vital role and keep the ecosystem balance. Today s culture encourages children to be scared of wolves.

Similar in theme, Roland Joffé s film, The Mission, portrays an eighteenth century South America in
which there are two opposing colonial forces. On one side there are imperialist plunderers , both
Spaniards and the Portuguese, who want to get rich and are ready and willing to utilize any method
possible in order to fulfill their insatiable desire for riches including slavery and the massacre of the
natives. On the other hand, there are Jesuit missionaries who desire to peacefully convert the natives
to Christianity. (Ebert, http://www.suntimes.com/ebert) An interesting connection that can be made
between the life of Bartolomé De Las Casas and a character in The Mission is with Robert De Niro s
character, Mandosa. At one time Captain Mandosa was in charge of massacres of natives and owned
many slaves, but after he killed his brother out of jealousy for his brother s lover, he repented his sins
by joining the priesthood and helping the mission attain their goals. This has similarities with how De
Las Casas got involved in working for the plight of the Indians.
It can be speculated that The Mission has several sources of influence that culminated in its production
and release in 1986. Since it is not possible for Roland Joffé, producer of The Mission or anyone on

Greek Mythology Heroes
In this paper I will analyze two characters in two separate works, one from a literary text and one from
a film. The focus of this paper will be on heroes that have a relationship to an element of mythology. I
will use the character Odysseus from Homer s epic poem, The Odyssey and the character Wonder
Woman from the American superhero film Wonder Woman . In this essay I will analyze the gender,
appearance, actions, and roles that these heroes have. Throughout this essay, I will also discuss the
negative characteristics that both these heroes have, such as their violent actions towards others.
Heroes possess numerous qualities that make them great, however, there are certain qualities of a hero
that are consistent throughout Greek mythology; bravery, intelligence, and strength. These qualities
are significant to these two Greek Mythologies because these heroes are known to bravely risk their
lives for others, using their wisdom to guide them, all while fighting strongly for what they believe in.
This paper will serve to prove that regardless of the gender of each of these personas, the
characteristics that define a hero remain consistent.

heroes. Wonder Woman is a superhero who is also known as Princess Diana, and she grew up on the

individuality, was one of the reasons Niyazov succeeded in being one of the world s dictators (
Saparmurat Niyazov. ) Turkmenbashi put many laws in place of ridiculous nature, because he able to.
He named some of the months and days of the weeks after his family. Only six years after he had
become President, he ban smoking because after a major heart surgery he had quit. Other things like
music, dance, and long hair on men were also halted, simply because he did not like them ( Obituary:
Saparmurat Niyazov ). Niyazov also neglected his citizens. He starved worked his people to the bone.
Today, Turkmenistan is lead by a man who works in a very similar way to that of Niyazov. His name
is Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and he has transitioned the country to start favoring him over their
old great leader and they have begun to be recreate the country for the new President.
Berdimuhamedov has not changed much other than that though. He is running things in the same type

How Does Mercury Energy Affect Ethical Behavior
The power disconnection by Mercury Energy resulted to the premature death of Mrs. Muliaga.
Though health specialists assigned to Mrs. Muliaga had only given her 1 3 years of life, she had defied
the odds and lived for over five years. When the news of Mercury Energy participation reached the
public, the media become awash with accusations of how the state owned Mercury Energy victimizes
its customers. Mercury Energy was accused on implementing capitalist principles in its operations.
Capitalism in business means that a company is driven to make profits. Mercury Energy disconnected
the Muliaga s power supply without determining the underlying issues that could have caused the
delay in payment. Mercury Energy was accused of ethical misbehavior by failing to overlook their
disconnection policy based on the patient s need for an operational oxygen machine.
The executives and management of Mercury Energy also came off as contemptuous, having
vehemently denied responsibility for the premature death of their customer. Mercury Energy as a
brand name suffered severely with the news of its involvement with the death of Mrs. Muliaga. As a
state owned company funded by tax payers, the public expected Mercury Energy to look at Muliaga s
predicament with special considerations (Eweje, Wu, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The contractor was informed on the need for continued power supply in the Muliaga s house. The
contractor even acknowledged to have seen the oxygen machine in the house. However, he went
ahead to disconnect Muliaga s power supply making the oxygen machine useless for the patient.
Mercury Energy ignored the fact that disconnecting power from the Muliaga s residence would have
life threatening consequences (Thomas, Dienhart, 2004. Mercury Energy ignored ethics and chose to
adhere to their business policy regarding the disconnection of power. Mercury Energy gives customers
6 7 weeks before it disconnects its

It is particularly common to err when developing complicated software, which emphasizes the
importance of software testing in building high quality software. The importance was confirmed by
my work experience at the Verdigris Technologies as a Front end Engineer Intern in their Web
Development Team. The responsibility of my position requires me to design and implement several
front end feature to facilitate and optimize usage of an internal software called dashboard. Developing
those features involves writing effective unit tests for the purpose of software testing. The experience
deepens my understanding of software testing as an indispensible element in software development,
strengthens my knowledge about software testing and improves my skills of writing effective unit test.
Software testing is a widely practiced method for verifying and validating developed software, which
is unlikely to fade away in spite of advances in automatic testing and verification. I will reason in this
report why testing constitutes an important phase in software development, and try to provide some
insights in performing effective testing. Unit testing, among others, is a fundamental approach for

Fuctose-Bisphosphate Aldolase Lab Report
Fructose bisphosphate aldolase
Table 1 Alternative name, co factors and reaction summarize in this table
Accepted Name: Fructose bisphosphate aldolase.
Alternative Name(s):
Aldolase.
D fructose 1,6 bisphosphate D glyceraldehyde 3 phosphate lyase.
Fructose 1,6 bisphosphate triosephosphate lyase.
Reaction catalyzed: D fructose 1,6 bisphosphate glycerone phosphate + D glyceraldehyde 3 phosphate
Cofactor(s): Zn(2+).
Introduction Fructose bisphosphate aldolase is a glycolytic compound. It catalyzes the reversible aldol
cleavage or buildup of fructose 1,6 bisphosphate into dihydroxyacetone phosphate and glyceraldehyde
3 phosphate. This enzyme has been divided in two classes of fructose bisphosphate aldolases based on
distinctive reactant ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Either the carbon carbon bond cleavage or the arrival of glyceraldehyde 3 phosphate involve the
moderate stride of the catalysis response; on the other hand, studies show that the GAP discharge is
likely the slowest step.
It has been demonstrated that aldolase is restrained allosterically by oxidized glutathione, which is an
oxidizing specie. The glutathione oxidizes a thiol 25 angstroms from the synergist site, which along
these lines causes a drop in reactant action. Furthermore, the compound demonstrates no positive
cooperativity, regardless of being an oligomer. Indeed, energy information really demonstrate that the
compound displays negative cooperativity. Along these lines the catalysis is profoundly
compartmentalized inside of every subunit and tying causes minimal distal change of the chemicals
structure.

Volkswagen Of America
Introduction In my analysis of the case Volkswagen of America: Managing IT Priorities (Austin,
2007), I will examine the dilemma faced by the Digital Business Council (DBC) members with
respect to recommendations to the IT steering committee (ITSC) and the CIO, Dr. Uwe Matulovic. I
will analyze two alternatives and the unfunded project, and provide recommendations. Background
This case describes a decade long search for an effective Organizational Strategy and illustrates an
issue faced by many IT organizations; a shortage of financial resources to fund all IT related projects.

The Marketing Strategy Of Whirlpool Corporation
In the United States, the cooking industry is a mature market with high penetration, therefore,
replacement product is significantly important to the industry. The United States has three major
manufacturers for domestic production; Whirlpool, General Electric, and Electrolux. The appliance
industry is changing and become more competitive with the influence of Asian competitors,
specifically, LG and Samsung is importing appliances into the United States. Subsequently, in January
2016, a Chinese manufacturer, Haier, bid for the purchase of General Electric Appliances, finalizing
the contract, Monday, June 6, 2016 (Thompson, 2016).
Whirlpool Corporation is the largest global manufacturer of home appliances (Innovation at the Pace
of Life, 2016). Although, Whirlpool is globally the largest manufacturer, they do not dominate all
markets, as they do in North America. In North America, Whirlpool s strength lies in a strong and vast
brand portfolio, consisting of seven brands (Fettig, 2016). In 2006, the United States Department of
Justice approved the acquisition of Maytag Corporation by Whirlpool (Henriques, 2006). The
acquisition served a two fold purpose, seating Whirlpool in the number one market share position in
North America and adding strong brands such as Maytag, Jenn Air, and Amana to the portfolio. A
series of acquisitions is accelerating growth for Whirlpool and ensuring global market leadership.
Whirlpool acquired manufacturer, Indesit, in Italy, which has

  • 2. Rhetorical Analysis Of Homemade Is The New Organic By... Rhetorical Analysis Nowadays, many people start living a healthy lifestyle. People realize an importance of caring about what is in their food and benefits of home cooked meals over processed food. Home Cooking is not just healthier, but also it has tons of benefits. Simple examples are saving money, controlling body weight and avoiding food poisoning. Homemade is the New Organic written by Rachel Jones for the Atlantic (2015), discussed the new food trend cooking at home. In her article, she explained how cooking is becoming popular recently. An earlier time, a family which has low income had no choice but to use homemade food. Today, however, meaning of homemade food changes. People start to appreciate the goodness of cooking at home and intentionally choose the homemade. Moreover, she mentioned that social media has a huge effect on this change. Since we have all the necessary tools and food in our kitchen, only a bit of time needs to be devoted. Basically, she tried to inform a general public that home cooking has an essential value in our life. In my opinion, Rachel successfully achieves her intention with the help of following rhetorical strategies: logos, ethos and counterpoint. First, Rachel adopts logos to illustrate the emerging importance of homemade meals to the audience. In other words, using general reasoning and facts, she tried to make her article more persuading. In the beginning of the article, she acknowledges her personal facts to demonstrate her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

David Reiger Case  In a matter of hours, Julie Taylor, director of Human Resources at Danville Airlines in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, would have to make a difficult recommendation to the airline s board of directors.  One of the airline s best pilots, David Reiger, 42, had recently lost his father to Huntington s disease, a progressive, inherited neurological disorder that causes severe movement disorder and eventual dementia.  Danville officials had been concerned about Reiger s susceptibility to Huntington s. In a routine blood test for alcohol and drug use, Danville had determined after discreetly sending the blood elsewhere to be tested that Reiger did indeed have the gene for Huntington s disease. When an individual accepts personal responsibility to be a college student, they are making a commitment to themself and taking ownership of their goals and ambitions. So, having that motivation to succeed is the most important reason an individual has to be personally responsible and has college success. My Preliminary Plan to Practice Personal Responsibility in My Education The preliminary plan for personal responsibility in my education is to be prepared and use all of my resources. This preparation includes talking with my family about ways they can help me balance household, work, and school obligations. The importance of time management cannot be understated; I will need to schedule chunks of time to devote to schoolwork in a place where I will not be interrupted. Macan, Shahani, Dipboye, and Phillips (1990) state that time management consists of three factors: (1) the setting of goals and priorities, (2) the mechanics of time management (e.g., making lists, scheduling), and (3) a preference for organization. Additionally, the utilization of an electronic calendar is a major tool to assist me and keep me on schedule. I can very much plan out the day on my blackberry, or in outlook, and set schedules, set reminders, add due dates for assignments to make sure I meet those due dates. Personal responsibility goes hand in hand with this because I basically have my personal, professional, and school calendar all in one place. Many articles have been written in business journals about the success of having an electronic calendar. I believe knowing these things in the preliminary plan stages of my ... The Juvenile Justice System And Juveniles When it comes to discussing the criminal justice system and juveniles, there have been many landmark cases that have made a significant impact on the juvenile justice system. The cases arise from dealing with certain aspects that comes from handling juveniles entering the system. Since juveniles are very different from adults they have to deal with them a certain way and a case by case basis. The court cases concerning juveniles and the decisions that have come from them is what has made what the juvenile justice system is today. Juveniles are not treated the same as adults since juveniles are not ad developed as adults common sense wise. They don t always know what is right from wrong and sometimes they do not have guidance or good influences around them helping them in the right direction. In class we have learned that instead of punishing them, the goal of the juvenile justice system is based on rehabilitation. For instance, juveniles cannot be sentenced to death if under the age of 18 and also can not be given the sentences of life without parole because they consider these punishments cruel and unusual for juveniles. If the system is able to rehabilitate them and give them the tools they need, they have a second chance at changing their lives for the better and getting away from all of the crimes. President Fdr s New Deal At the peak of the Great Depression in 1932 the unemployment rate stood at 25 percent and the Dow Jones Average sunk to a mere 34, indicating severe economic distress.1 Millions of individuals were starving on the streets and billions of dollars were lost in the stock market. When Franklin Roosevelt released the New Deal in 1933, a plan to provide relief, reform, and recovery to the distressed country, Americans were in dire need of relief. Recognizing that something had to be done quickly, President FDR implemented a series of programs to immediately mitigate the effects of the Depression. By focusing on programs to aid business and labor, farmers, housing and homeowners, banks and the stock market, and the youth of America, FDR attempted to provide the immediate relief from the Great Depression that America so desperately needed. Although some of the programs in the New Deal were more successful than others, they succeeded as a whole in providing the short term relief that America needed to survive the Great Depression. The first major relief program for businesses and labor was the Federal Emergency Relief Act. Released in 1933, the FERA created the Federal Emergency Relief Administration, an agency that not only distributed federal aid to states for relief, but also provided state directed work to boost the morale of the recipients.2 As Harry Hopkins, advisor to FDR on work relief programs stated about FERA, Give him a job and pay him an assured wage, and you save ... Method of analysis includes waiting line simulation and historical data tracking as well as response from both local community and Massport. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If Turboprops and regional airplanes were to be diverted then their delay time would only be 10 minutes in adverse weather conditions. As the delay time would be significantly reduced for regional and turboprops in this scenario, we believe that the small planes would be willing to make the switch. This would also free up capacity by 56% at Logan airport so that the conventional planes would also have a decreased delay time of 22 minutes as compared to an infinite wait time (Figure 2). However, while this alternative might be favorable in the short term, it is rather unfeasible over the long term as there would be a significant passenger cost in terms of loss of goodwill. We assume that the loss of goodwill would be similar to the passenger cost of $30.9/passenger/hour and we include a car rental cost of $9/passenger/hour for a total passenger switching cost of $40/passenger/hour. Passengers would likely be upset at arriving at a different location resulting in many inconveniences and additional costs incurred. Generally, the writing of this report was easy to follow and was structured in a way in which it told a unified story. However, it was sort of difficult to identify what exactly was the purpose of the experiment. I believe the report was focused mainly on exploring the function and structure of the ejection of fluids in the African bombardier beetle. It was slightly more informative rather than scientific even though the article included many scientific terms. Nonetheless, the report had various amounts of details throughout the experiment. • 21. The Origins Of The Origin Of Philosophy The origins of philosophy began with the dynamic question of What if? followed by intellectual reasoning for the ways of the world. To look past the general purpose of life and the things that come with it; is when a new philosophy is discovered. The first recorded philosopher came about early on in the sixth century B.C.E. His name was Thales of Miletus or what is now Turkey. The first three philosophers, Thales, Anaximander, and Anaximenes, are known as the Milesians because they all came from the Greek colony of Miletus on the Persian coast and because they constitute the first school of philosophy. (Pg. 24) However, little is known about Thales due to the fact, there weren t any pieces of literature connecting to him. However, he did make it known that everything is fundamentally made up of water. This belief went against the theological perspectives of Greek mythology, introducing a more scientific view of the cosmos. Thales made it known that he wanted to find the Arche or unifying principle that linked every aspect of life together. According to Thales, water is the one and only Arche. Two of Thales successors and fellow Milesians, Anaximander and Anaximenes based their beliefs off of Thales philosophy. However, they didn t seem to agree with Thales ideology of everything being broken down to water. Anaximander completely dismissed the idea of the four primary elements, earth, wind, fire, and water being the Arche. He believed the elements could not be the Arche, ... Consequently, Eisenhower was the most influential leader: he helped make decisions in Washington during the beginning of the war, he helped plan invasions on multiple fronts, he had all the right qualities of a leader with many following his command, and despite the amount of influence Hitler had, Eisenhower was more influential being able to win the war for the Allied Forces. Eisenhower was one of few who had both qualities. This allowed him to gain the trust of thousands. Having people who followed his command openly, willingly, and easily allowed Eisenhower to influence multiple decisions. After the decisions were made, the trust, loyalty, and respect Eisenhower had coming from those who were affected by the decisions allowed Eisenhower to remain influential with the people continually following his commands. For example, when Eisenhower ordered a soldier to hold a position, the soldier would not willingly surrender unlike some soldiers during the war. How Did Galileo Contribute To The Scientific Revolution Galileo was a mathematician, astronomer, physicist, and teacher who played a major role in the scientific revolution during the Renaissance Era. Galileo put the concepts of experiments, theory and mathematics together to advance the scientific world. He is often referred to the Father of Science. Galileo was born February 15, 1564 in Pisa in the Duchy of Florence, Italy. He was the first of six children born of Giulia Ammannati and Vincenzo Galilei, a musician and music theorist. His family moved to Florence in 1574 where he started his education at the Camaldolse Monastery in Vallombrosa. In 1583, Galileo attended the University of Pisa to study medicine; he was exposed to an Aristotelian view of the world. In 1585, he left the University of Pisa before earning his degree. Galileo proved that theory to be incorrect when he dropped objects from the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and noticed that objects fall to the ground at the same time if air resistance is negligible. This experiment helped him come up with the concept of acceleration. Mrs Helenne Alving And Ghosts Plenty published by David Hare in 1978 and Ghosts published by Henrik Ibsen in 1881, might have almost a gap of hundred years in publication, but they are both plays that attest the intertemporal issue of society s pressure on the woman. In the notes of A Doll s house, in 1878, Ibsen writes A woman cannot be herself in contemporary society, it is an exclusively male society with laws drafted by men, and with counsel and judges who judge feminine conduct from the male point of view. The female protagonist in Ghosts, Mrs Helene Alving, has been influenced by the society s need of forming women that are first, obedient daughters, then, obedient wives, dutiful mothers, but in general, obedient individuals of that society s ideals, conventions and traditions. In Plenty, the audience gets to examine years of Susan Traherne s life, from her World War II activity as a courier in the French Renaissance to her emotional privation in the post Suez British plenty . Even after the war, Susan cannot sustain a fulfilling life since the society s ideals and conventions disharmonize with her own opinions and purpose. The common element between Mrs Alving and Susan is that as women they are expected to fit into a certain role in the real life, directed by the society itself, a life that diminishes their personal fulfilment. Perhaps though, it has nothing to do with our upbringing, and maybe it only our internal hunger for power is to blame. Whichever way that created a person as monstrous as Niyazov, definitely created something huge. During Niyazov s rule he controlled everything he possibly could. Controlling the minds of his people was his specialty. Forcing them to have the will to change their beliefs, their routines, their individuality, was one of the reasons Niyazov succeeded in being one of the world s dictators ( Saparmurat Niyazov. ) Turkmenbashi put many laws in place of ridiculous nature, because he able to. Alternative Name(s): Aldolase. D fructose 1,6 bisphosphate D glyceraldehyde 3 phosphate lyase. Fructose 1,6 bisphosphate triosephosphate lyase. Reaction catalyzed: D fructose 1,6 bisphosphate glycerone phosphate + D glyceraldehyde 3 phosphate Cofactor(s): Zn(2+). Introduction Fructose bisphosphate aldolase is a glycolytic compound. It catalyzes the reversible aldol cleavage or buildup of fructose 1,6 bisphosphate into dihydroxyacetone phosphate and glyceraldehyde 3 phosphate. This enzyme has been divided in two classes of fructose bisphosphate aldolases based on distinctive reactant ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Either the carbon carbon bond cleavage or the arrival of glyceraldehyde 3 phosphate involve the moderate stride of the catalysis response; on the other hand, studies show that the GAP discharge is likely the slowest step. It has been demonstrated that aldolase is restrained allosterically by oxidized glutathione, which is an oxidizing specie. The glutathione oxidizes a thiol 25 angstroms from the synergist site, which along these lines causes a drop in reactant action. Furthermore, the compound demonstrates no positive cooperativity, regardless of being an oligomer. Indeed, energy information really demonstrate that the compound displays negative cooperativity. Along these lines the catalysis is profoundly compartmentalized inside of every subunit and tying causes minimal distal change of the chemicals structure. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
