The document summarizes a study that investigated the impact of Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) on the English skills of 40 Thai high school students. The students' listening, reading, speaking, and writing skills were tested before and after three English lessons using CLIL. The results showed significant improvements in all four skills after using CLIL. CLIL helped students learn content and language simultaneously. The study concluded that CLIL is an effective technique for improving English skills in high school students.

Carl meets Pancho, who is from Peru and has a large family. Pancho has seven brothers and six sisters, and he is the second oldest. Pancho's father works as a taxi driver in Lima to support the family, while his mother helps run a small family store with some of Pancho's older siblings. The store sells everyday food items.
The document provides advice to several individuals with romantic problems - Julia loves her boyfriend's best friend, Barry wants to break up with his girlfriend for his ex, Tony's friend's girlfriend flirts with him, Sharon wants to meet her ex-boyfriend, and Steve has feelings for his childhood friend who has a questionable boyfriend. It asks for recommendations on how to handle these situations and what actions they should or should not take. The friends seek clarity on whether to tell others how they feel or what their partners may do.
This document covers hotel accommodation topics like checking in, reservations, lost luggage, room service, and taxi requests. Sample dialogs demonstrate interactions between guests and staff regarding necessary documents, signing forms, payment methods, and addressing any issues that arise during a hotel
This document provides examples of questions using "do/does" and short dialogues practicing asking and answering these types of questions about hobbies and activities. It includes directions for classroom activities where students form groups based on shared interests and ask each other questions to learn more about each other. Examples of questions include "Do you like painting?", "Do you go to concerts?", and "Do you dance at discos?". Students are encouraged to discuss what they like or don't like and why.
The document defines four seasons - autumn, winter, spring and summer - and three types of precipitation - snow, rain, and wind. Autumn is defined as the season between summer and winter. Snow is defined as precipitation falling from clouds in the form of ice crystals. Wind is defined as air moving from an area of high pressure to an area of low pressure.
The document discusses the main parts of a flower including the sepals, petals, pistil, stamens, pollen, and seeds. It explains that sepals cover and protect the flower bud as it grows, petals attract bees and birds to help with pollination, and the pistil and stamens work together to produce seeds when pollen from the stamens fertilizes the pistil. The overall purpose is to describe the key parts of a flower and their functions in the flowering and seed production process.
The document discusses the parts of flowers, including the pistil, which makes eggs; stamens, which make pollen; petals, which attract bees and birds; and sepals, which protect flower buds. It also covers the structure of sentences using the infinitive and provides vocabulary terms related to plant structures. Examples are given of writing sentences about flower parts and specifying each part in pictures using the vocabulary.
This document discusses high-speed trains in various countries. It notes that France has an extensive high-speed train network called the TGV that can travel at speeds up to 186 miles per hour. Japan was the first country to implement high-speed trains called Shinkansen bullet trains between major cities like Tokyo and Osaka. While high-speed trains are more expensive than regular trains, they are often cheaper than air travel over similar distances. Many countries in Europe and Asia now have their own high-speed rail systems that have reduced air traffic between cities they connect.
The document outlines an English lesson on transport and communication systems for science and technology. It includes vocabulary terms, two texts about comparative forms and high-speed trains, and four classroom activities: 1) a spelling bee, 2) forming comparative sentences, 3) mind mapping about high-speed trains, and 4) comparing high-speed trains to regular trains using comparative sentences. The activities incorporate group work, presentations, and hands-on lessons to teach students about transportation vocabulary and the differences between train types.
The document discusses the present simple tense and its uses. It can be used to describe actions that are general, habitual, or not confined to the present time. The document also provides a sample conversation about the weather and seasons in South Africa. It notes that winters are cold and rainy while summers are hot, sunny, and windy, with more rain falling in the winter than the summer.

Barry, 21 : I’ve got a great girlfriend and we’ve been together for about six
months. It’s all been quite serious but now I’m not so sure. You see, I saw my
ex-girlfriend again at a party last Saturday and I think she feels we made a big
mistake and that she really wants us to start going out together again. I think I
feel the same. What do I do? How do I tell my present girlfriend that I think
we should break up?
Tony, 21 : My best friend and his girlfriend have been together for some time,
but she keeps flirting with me and I don’t know if he realizes or not. Should I
tell him? I don’t really fancy her, but I really like his ex-girlfriend. Do you think
he would mind if I asked her out? He’s an old friend and I don’t want to upset
him.
Sharon, 19 : I met an old boyfriend the other day and we agreed we wanted
to stay friends, although I don’t want to go out with him again. We’d like to
have a drink together one evening. Should we tell his present girlfriend or is it
better that she doesn’t know? After all, it will be completely innocent.
Steve, 20 : I have known the girl next door for a long time. She’s going out
with someone who is well-known for fancying everyone in sight. The trouble is,
she doesn’t realize this. I happen to think he’s seeing someone else, and I
don’t know whether to tell or not. It’s made more complicated by the fact
that after all years as childhood friends, I think I’m falling in love with her, what
should I do? Should I tell her how I feel?
