This document summarizes the composition and properties of reactive powder concrete (RPC). RPC consists of very fine powders of cement, micro silica sand, quartz powder, minimal water, and steel fibers which provide high strength of 200-800 MPa and ductility. It was developed to eliminate flaws in other concretes and uses coarse aggregates. RPC exhibits improved abrasion resistance, lower water absorption and corrosion rates, and reduced chloride diffusion compared to regular concrete. While costly, it is suitable for applications where high strength and weight savings are beneficial, though long-term properties and construction details require more research.
