4. Case history
■ 15 yrs old male patient presented with complaints of swelling
in the neck for the past 2 months
■ No c/o trauma
■ No c/o pain
■ No c/o excessive salivation
■ No c/o ulcer
■ No c/o intra oral swelling
■ No c/o trismus
■ No c/o difficulty in speech/ swallowing
5. Clinical Examination
■ ECOG 1
■ Examination of oral cavity – Mouth
opening adequate, mobility of
tongue not restricted, no swelling,
growth seen.
■ Examination of neck – Swelling seen
over the submental and left
submandibular region, Fluctuant,
trans illuminant, not fixed to
underlying structure, skin over the
swelling normal
14. ■ Pt was started on IV antibiotics - InjTaxim 1g IV BD x
5days
■ Inj Metrogyl 500 mg IVTDS
■ Analgesics
■ Mouth wash
■ Neck drain was removed on day 3
■ Sutures removed on day 7
■ HPR – Mucous retention cyst – salivary gland
