This document discusses the lessons learned from creating two magazines - a school magazine and a music magazine. For the school magazine, the author did not properly layout the text and colors, making it difficult to read. However, in creating the music magazine, the author learned to use InDesign tools better to layout columns, line up text, add consistent colors, and make elements like stickers and photos stand out. The author also learned Photoshop skills like cutting out pictures to fit on pages. Overall, the proper use of layout, columns, colors and images were important lessons that made the music magazine look more professional compared to the initial school magazine.

2. On this front cover and contents there are
many things wrong with it after learning
about new technology's. For example not
all of the text it lined up which makes
some of the text look out of place. Also
the white text is coming of the green
boxes which mean you cannot see the top
of the text. I have also put writing over the
picture in the contents this was a bad
decision as you can not read it clearly this
means its hard to understand. I have also
not made the very much of the green text
on the front cover very visible to make it
more visible I should turn it into a more
bolder font. I should edited the front
cover picture so you can see her eyes
more. I could also make the green sticker
more bold like I have done on my music
magazine as it gives a 3D effect and
draws your attention to it more.

3. As you can see my music magazine
stands out a lot more as it looks more
professional. I have learnt that layout is
the most important part of making a
magazine if your layout is not right the
magazine will not look right. I have learnt
how to line up text and how to make
certain things stand out more on a front
cover for example my 200th issue sticker.
Also I have learnt that putting little things
like a barcode and a price makes it look
more real and professional.When I
started the preliminary task I did not
have any experience in InDesign or
Photoshop therefore the tools on there I
had never used, so I could not use
everything I wanted but as I have learnt I
have made my music magazine better
than the school one. I have learnt how to
use good photos through Photoshop and
how to layout a good magazine with
columns.
I have also learnt how to use tools on
InDesign more, for example ‘wrap around’
this gives me the opportunity to move text
around an object for example a picture and
still make the text look good on the page.

4. On my contents page for my school magazine I have not used a proper layout on in deign.
Where as on my music magazine I have used columns through InDesign to make sure my text
is all lined up and easy to read. I have also made sure I have used a colour scheme through my
music magazine as I have not in my school one. In my school one I have random colours in the
contents page which does attract you, but it is not consistent throughout the two pages.Where
as in my music magazine I have made sure my front cover, contents and double page spread all
has the same colour and the mast head is on the top of every page.

5. I have learnt since doing the first task with
the school magazine to make sure all text is
in columns as it make It look so much more
professional .I have also learnt how to cut
out a picture like my one on my double
page spread . I have done this through
Photoshop. Using a quick selection tool and
a rubber it has allowed me to make this
picture fit in to my page and have writing
around it. I have also learnt how to wrap
text on this page around the picture.
