The student learned about several technologies through constructing their film product. They used a Sanyo camera that was difficult to focus but produced HD images. A tripod helped make shots stable and allowed pans, though some shots did not use it for effect. The camera sometimes picked up atmospheric sounds, which were overcome with Foley. A dolly helped produce tracking shots. Final Cut Pro software on Apple Macs allowed editing processes like trimming clips and adjusting sound and color. YouTube taught editing processes and provided soundtracks.

1. 6.What have you learnt about technologies from
the process of constructing this product?
For the film opening, I used a Sanyo camera. I felt it was harder to focus this kind of camera as it
didn’t have an adjusting lens but instead it focused through recording settings. Despite this this
camera produces HD images which can also determine the quality of the product. It also has
features which are necessary for film making for example, the ability to zoom. This was ideal
when filming insert shots, which emphasised feeling such as impatience and relief.
I used the tripod to make shots stable. This is a vital device which allows shots such as panning,
although it was necessary I didn't use the tripod for some shots for the effect eg. Pov shots
One issue with the camera was that it some times to pick up sounds and was liable to pick up
atmospheric sounds for example the wind. This was overcome with the use of Foley.
Dolly was also a device which helped the process of film making. This helped produce tracking
shots when Thuy hang was running.

2. 6.What have you learnt about technologies from
the process of constructing this product?
Final Cut Pro is an editing software I used on the Apple Macs to edit my final product.
This software allowed processes such as trimming down clips, splitting clips and
sounds with the blade tool, and adjusting sound and colouring of clips. The streaming
website YouTube helped me learn how to use these processes correctly. YouTube was
also the website I got the soundtracks for the film opening from.
