1. Evaluation Question 6
What have you learnt about technologies from the process of
constructing this product?
Hardware: Video Camera
Software: Final Cut Pro
2. The video camera enabled us to film the title sequence. We had a tutorial of how to use it in the first
classes with our editing tutor. We were taught how to turn it on, insert the SD card, use its features
such as: zoom in/out, focus, control aperture in order to either receive more light in our shots or
diminish it, and also how to set it on the tripod. The tripod was more favorable to us than the hand-
held, because it is more steady and we had greater control of camera movement.
With all the information gathered at the tutorial, we went on filming. We were
confident with using the camera. Although there were few incidents regarding our
footage along the way, resulting in wavy film and eventually switching the cameras,
we still succeeded in utilizing it. We knew what type of shots we wanted to shoot
beforehand, therefore it was a matter of time until we took control of it.
3. Final Cut Pro was the only program we used for editing our footage. It was available in the editing suite.
It helped us to connect our shots on a timeline, cut what we needed from the footage, add non-
diegetic/diegetic sounds to certain shots, edit the brightness in others. The tutor also gave us a hand
when we had to edit our logo for the production company, to change the eyes’ colour. This program
allowed various features to incorporate in our title sequence. We could as well lower some sounds and
heighten others, create atmosphere, alter areas in order to obtain our desired result. Final Cut Pro, as
any other editing program, is a valuable tool whenever one considers creating a film.
