2. Video camera
For the majority of filming, for my music
video challenge, I used a HD Sony
camcorder. I found this very easy to use
because of the basic quality of the
camera. The HD also proved useful
because it allowed me to collect some
footage at a good quality
3. Go-pro
I also used a go pro camera to capture
footage for the narrative part of my
music video. This was a huge help when
I was filming because it meant that I
didn't have to hold the camera with my
hands so, I could focus more on riding
the bike.
4. Mounts
To use the go-pro camera I needed to
use a Mount to attach the camera to my
body. I did this by using a head strap, for
one filming, and a chest mount, for the
second run. These were both great help
because I was able to have both hands
free when filming.
5. Tripod
I used a tripod when filming most of the
performance part of my music video.
This was a good prop to have because it
meant that I could put the camera down,
where it was going to stay still and in
focus, and I was still able to film myself
in this way. It was also handy for shots
at different angles such as a low angle
shot of the artist.
6. YouTube and safari
YouTube was a big help in the research
for my project. It has endless results of
videos that can be handy, for example
when I needed to look for similar artist,
when looking at genre, YouTube has a
link for similar videos which was very
helpful. The search engine Safari was
also very good for this and I used it a lot
throughout my project.
7. Samsung – galaxy s4
I used this mobile phone a lot in the
research and planning stages of my
project, the wifi and 3G features were
handy for searching any questions or
queries I had with my project.
My phone also helped when it came to
communicating with friends when it
came to the production process.
8. Apple Mac
I used an apple mac in every stage of
making my music video. From uploading
blog post to editing footage. This was a
very useful, if not the most useful, bit of
equipment I had to use throughout the
project. This also gave me the use of the
whole microsoft software
9. Prezi
Prezi is a form of software that allows
you to present your work in a more
interactive way by choosing the paths
the presentation takes. This was very
helpful in creating some posts, for my
blog, in a different way than usual. This
also helped me in my evaluation
because of the creativity side.
10. Adobe Photoshop
Photoshop is software for editing
images. This was helpful for me in my
ancillary tasks because I needed
Photoshop to edit, and merge images
together to create my Digipak and
magazine advert.
11. Final cut pro.
Final cut pro is the editing software that I
used to create my music video along
with other tasks like my preliminary task
of a short music video. Final cut pro
provides unlimited editing possibilities
from cropping to changing the contrast
of shots. I used this media technology a
lot throughout my project and would not
have been able to do it without final cut
pro.
