Question 6: Development using technology

Editing
We used Adobe Premier Pro to edit on the editing machines. At
first it was quite difficult to get the hang of it. Some people in
my group mastered it much more quicker than I did. However
with practice you find that it’s easy to cut things out you don’t
want and to add in certain effects. This programme really
benefits anything you are editing as there are lots of different
tools to help achieve your intended outcome. The programme
looks like a sort of timeline (as seen below) and you can even
zoom in to certain bits to really get the transitions right. You
could also use a tool for the audio change as it allows the
volume to all sound similar to a limit. Otherwise some bits end
up being higher than other. It doesn’t sound right. In addition
you could also create titles. We successfully completed a title
using numerous effects in one on our title.
Filming
This is the tripod.
It was one of the
most useful tool
we had to help us
have a steady
and stable film
opening. It was
initially difficult
to move around
but with practice
we got used to it.
This is the battery
charger for the
cameras. Of
course it was
useful as it helped
charge our
camera so that we
could film for a
lengthy time
The camera was the best part as it
was very effective with different
tools to help our scene. We could
easily play back what we had
recorded and we could also adjust
the light on it depending on the
circumstances
I have learnt that there is so much going on behind
the scenes when a film is being made. There were so
many responsibilities even making this short film
opening and I cant imagine just how much time and
effort has gone into major films being filmed and
distributed. I learned how effective the camera can
be and how you can adjust settings on there to make
it suitable for what you are filming. I have learned
how handy the tripod can be and how it really does
make a difference to how your film is portrayed to
the audience.
