1. Question 2
{ How effective is the combination of your main
product and ancillary texts?
2. Very, they all tie in well…
Our poster and radio advert both include
the same tag-lines and reference the same
reviews, this shows a level of consistency
throughout our product and the supporting
works, these pieces all involve reference, in turn,
to the final product (our film) in the radio ad, this
is shown through excerpts from the films sound
and in the poster we see the same logo and have a
shot of the films main character.

-Dark, distorted (under-cranked) music, lends reference that the film shall be similarly dark. Matches the feeling of a
‘thriller-horror’ film in general
-Includes sound clips from the film (eg. ‘Good Morning, I was thinking of making some breakfast if you wanted any’),
which give actual evidence as to the film’s content, particularly with the screams/pleas of the victim in the film
-Cold, sombre voice for narrative, follows a certain structure for the advert, somewhat apathetic and alien. Being the
voice of the protagonist in turn, this is also a slightly subliminal suggestion that the advert is a existential reflection of
the protagonist himself
- Slight silences (leaving just the music), slightly drags the advert out in tone, which in turn spreads the dark feeling it
conveys
-Does give information on the name, genre and release of the film, which informs the public on the practical
information of the film, similar to the poster in that regard
