This document summarizes the key design conventions and features used in the magazine Notion and how the student's media product challenges or develops these conventions in their own work. Notion uses a minimalist black and white style with monochrome covers featuring a single large centered image. The student's cover similarly features a large centered image within a border and keeps within the magazine's color palette. Interior pages in both magazines use column layouts, scattered images, and consistent fonts while drawing attention to headlines, images and article summaries over other elements. The student's work adopts many of Notion's established conventions to create a cohesive media product in the style of the original magazine.
