3. Naomi Wolf
• Naomi Wolf wrote the novel, The Beauty Myth,
which refers to the way in which females are
potrayed through images set by the media. On my
contents I follow the theory of Naomi Wold by using
females that are seen attractive to sell and promote
my magazine as my target audience is partially
younger women, in their late teens and early
twenties who care about their looks.
4. Marjorie Ferguson
• Marjorie Ferguson focuses upon female facial
expressions and how different expressions attract
audiences. Majority of the photographs on the
contents page show females smiling with their teeth
or with their mouth closed but still smiling. Ferguson
would class this under the super smiler and
chocolate box. These kind of facial expressions
attract the audience as it portrays a happy and
welcoming feel to the magazine.
5. Trevor Millum
• Trevor Millum focuses upon male facial expressions
and how they can be used to promote a magazine.
Throughout my contents page majority of the facial
expressions are categorised under catalogue or
practical due to the serious expressions that most of
the models have. This kind of facial expressions
catches the eye of the target audience as the males
are all looking directly into the camera and attract
the target audience in by assuming they are looking
at them.
