2. Overview
 Props I plan on using will help in me telling the story of my artist, from
the success to the press turning on her, to her battles with drugs and
alcohol.
 They will be slightly comical, to suit the over-dramatic, quirky tone of the
video.
 They will sometimes be conceptual as opposed to clearly linking to the
story suiting the abstract side of my music video.
 Many props will symbolize ideologies seen in rap music e.g. money to
symbolize status.
 Many will link to the lyrics, to make a lyrical music video as meaning
within lyrics are extremely important in rap.

3. Money
 To symbolise the success experienced by the artist at
the start of her career and all the money she is
earning. She has so much money she doesn’t know
what to do with it, that is why she turns to drugs and
booze.

4. CDs
 To represent her success and demand in music,
showing her status.

5. Food
 The lyrics state ‘I’d take girls for a little mars bar, or a
salad, I’m on a diet’
 These would represent the pressures to stay slim by
the press etc. also it would add to the comical effect of
the artist not taking herself seriously.

6. Classical Music Instruments
 ‘Make some original music not covers’
 It is an example of a criticism the press / social media
give her. Suggesting her music is unoriginal.

7. Newspaper
 Articles showing how her career is developing and
how the press are responding to her.

8. Alcohol
 When she turns into a party animal due to the
temptations of fame and her excess money.

9. Syringes
 When she is on drugs at the lowest point in her
career, symbolizing her deterioration to a ruined
woman by the press and pressures of fame.
