Transparencies Thin sheets of clear acetate make visuals Using black or color inks Can be hand drawn, printed, or photocopied Special transparency markers must be used Either permanent or washable Computer generated looks more professional Commercial overhead transparencies Created and sold in booklets or sets Sometimes textbook companies provide them High quality and ready to use

Pointers for Teachers When printing transparencies Black and white or color on ink jet printer Use correct transparency film Ink jet printers use one that is porous on one side/slick on other Place in printer so it prints on porous side Laser printers Thicker, heat-resistant acetate is needed When adding handwritten text Cover transparency with blank one This way you can preserve your transparency for later use
