Agile Team Working agreements, also known as team norms, are guidelines developed by the teams as to how they must work together to create a positive, productive process.
Mary Henson (CEO of the DSDM consortium) introduced Dr. Islam Choudhury (Ass. Professor Kingston University) who then explained the ‘DSDM’ project framework.
DSDM has a venerable pedigree, pre-dating the Agile Manifesto by many years. Recently it has been recognised as a useful project and framework, and Islam explained how it can provide a project layer around team level methods such as Scrum.

Prioritization Techniques for Agile TeamsTarang Baxi
Have you ever been in a prioritization discussion where the only priorities are High, Higher, and Highest? Or tried using MoSCoW to prioritize user stories only to find
that 80% of the cards are 'Must Have'?
In this tutorial, we introduce a gamut of different prioritization methods, ranging from simple techniques like stacked ranking or MoSCoW that classify items along a single dimension to multi-dimensional techniques like priority quadrants, Story Maps, and Innovation Games®. We cover pruning feature trees, spending fake currency, and using visual metaphors, while truly identifying what the most important stuff really is. This was most recently presented at the Agile India 2013 conference in Bangalore.
This presentation provides a good description of project scope, product scope, scope statement, WBS and WBS dictionary. It will also tell you about the benefits of WBS. You will also learn about the 2 ways to represent a WBS. Lastly, you can use it to prepare for the PMP exam.

Managing team and organizational conflictMasum Hussain
In our culture, we reflexively tend to think of the term “conflict” in the negative. When we discuss conflict in the business world, we speak of it (often unwittingly) as a diminishing force on productivity, an ill that only compounds the difficulties of a job, and an element that needs expunging if companies are to achieve their goals. Normally seen as the byproduct of a “squeaky wheel” rather than a natural derivative of business itself, conflict is a force that causes short-term anxieties, and many view “fixing” ongoing conflict as synonymous with “eliminating” it.It is commonplace for organizations today to work in teams. Whether they be leader-driven teams or self-directed teams; the hope is that productivity, creativity, and results will be greater in a team environment. While this is a proven approach, any time you bring together people from differing backgrounds and experiences, it is inevitable that conflict will occur.
Every organization encounters conflicts on a daily basis. The conflicts cannot be avoided, but it is possible to manage them in a way that we recognize them on time. It is necessary to continuously track the organizational signals which point to their existence. If we do not react duly, this can lead to the situation that the conflict itself manages the organization. One of the more important determinants of productivity, efficiency and performance, and finally job contentment is also the conflict as an independent variable of organizational behavior. By systematic research of organizational behavior we want to make a positive influence on dependent variables, but first we have to understand and get a good insight into individual elements of organizational behavior. By this paper we want to brighten the meaning of conflict on the organization, the conflict process and possible conflict management styles. We will show the relationship between the level of conflict and the impact on the organizational performance.

Leadership networking and team building are two sides of the same coin, both crucial for building a successful and productive team. Here's how they work together:
**Leadership Networking**
* **Focus:** Building relationships with people outside your immediate team. This could be colleagues in other departments, industry experts, or potential collaborators.
* **Benefits for Team Building:**
* **Access to Resources:** Leaders with a strong network can tap into external knowledge, expertise, and resources to benefit their team.
* **Learning Opportunities:** Networking exposes leaders to new ideas and best practices that they can bring back to their team.
* **Partnerships:** Leaders can build partnerships with other teams or departments, fostering collaboration and a more cohesive work environment.
**Team Building**
* **Focus:** Creating a strong and cohesive team unit within your own department or group.
* **Benefits from Leadership Networking:**
* **Stronger Relationships:** Leaders who network effectively can use their connections to create opportunities for team members to interact with others outside their immediate circle. This breaks down silos and builds trust.
* **Shared Vision:** By networking and learning from others, leaders can bring back a broader perspective that helps the team develop a shared vision and goals.
* **Motivation and Recognition:** Leaders can leverage their network to find opportunities for team members to showcase their skills and get recognized for their achievements.
Here are some ways to put leadership networking and team building into action:
* **Organize Networking Events:** Host events within your company to connect teams or attend industry conferences and encourage team members to participate.
* **Team-Building Activities:** Plan activities that encourage communication, collaboration, and problem-solving among team members.
* **Mentorship Programs:** Set up a program where team members can be mentored by leaders who have strong networks.
* **Team Recognition:** Publicly acknowledge your team's achievements within your network, giving them credit for their hard work.
By effectively using leadership networking and team building, you can create a high-performing team that is well-connected, motivated, and ready to achieve great things.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.
