It increases academic achievement, application of knowledge, critical thinking, collaboration and communication. The goals are to extract essential concepts and skills from examples, engage learners, encourage questioning, and confront misconceptions. Problem based learning similarly uses problems to teach subjects, originating from medical schools and now used in all education, with specific tasks like defining problems, researching solutions, and presenting conclusions.
