The Relationship Between Faith And Reason In Pope John...
Pope John Paul II found it important enough to talk about the relationship between faith and reason in
his encyclical Fides et Ratio. An encyclical is a letter that is sent to all of the bishops of the Roman
Catholic Church and addresses a problem, or important topic that the pope believes needs to be
discussed. In Fides et Ratio, Pope John Paul II really emphasizes the importance of the relationship
between faith and reason and how it has to do with the trust and faith put in God. This encyclical
written in 1998 was meant for all of the members of the Catholic Church to understand and begin
thinking about the big questions that define their faith, as well as to once again be able to reason with
their faith. If there was never a questioning of faith, there would be no reason for the followers of the
Catholic Church to continue to follow a man that we accept as our Lord. Faith and reason go hand in
hand just like identity and relevance. Without one, you cannot have the other and still achieve full
meaning. It is possible to have only faith and just live a life based on faith alone. It is also possible to
only reason through everything. However, when dealing with religion, Pope John Paul II makes it a
point to show the followers if Christ that they need to have an equal balance of both faith and reason
in order to attempt to comprehend who Jesus Christ the Son of God was, who in fact God is, and have
the knowledge to grow and understand the Roman Catholic beliefs. According to

When I first looked into HBCU colleges to apply for, Fisk University was my first choice. I am
interested in Fisk University because I feel it is the perfect fit for me. Fisk University will allow me to
be more culturally aware. I am a very open minded person and Fisk is well rounded and open to

Cognitive Radio Ad Hoc Networks
Game Theoretic Approach to Detect Selfish Attacker in Cognitive Radio Ad Hoc Networks
Abstract In wireless communication, spectrum resources are utilized by authorities in particular fields.
Most of the elements in spectrum are idle. Cognitive radio is a promising technique for allocating the
idle spectrum into unlicensed users. Security shortage is a major challenging issue in cognitive radio
ad hoc networks (CRAHNs) that makes performance degradation on spectrum sensing and sharing. A
selfish user pre occupies the accessible bandwidth for their prospect usage and prohibits the progress
secondary users whose makes the requirement for spectrum utility. Game theoretic model is proposed
to detect the selfish attacker in CRAHNs. Channel state information (CSI) is considered to inform
each user s channel handing information. The two strategy of Nash Equilibrium game model such as
pure and mixed strategy for secondary users (SUs) and selfish secondary users (SSUs) are investigated
and the selfish attacker is detected. Moreover a novel belief updating system is also proposed to the
secondary users for knowing the CSI of the primary user. A simulation result shows that, game
theoretic model is achieved to increase the detection rate of selfish attackers.

Value At Risk And Risk Management
Value at Risk Framework or VAR framework is mainly used for financial risk management or
financial mathematics in measuring the risk element on a definite portfolio of financial assets, present
in any economic organization. This particular portfolio comprises of time event and probability, which
states the threshold of the risk loss value over the period of time. These risk loss values are assumed to
be according to the market to market pricing, no trading and normal market which contributes in this
risk valued portfolio. The risk management of Value at Risk is done by risk managers which are
responsible for measuring and controlling the risk levels that are present in an organization.
Considering the modern portfolio theory, the third constituent of portfolio is amount of investment
which then creates a mean variance framework risk. This framework risk is defined in terms of
possible variation in the expected portfolio which will describe the risk value loss in financial assets of
an economic organization.
The Value at Risk framework and management help an organization in analyzing the risk loss in the
financial resources, which increase its use in many businesses, organizations and institutions. (Hassan,
2009) The organization use this VAR framework in analyzing the potential losses in many risk
management ideas which include stress testing, backtesting, expected shortfall, tail conditional
expectation and economic capital. These are the few important ideas that have been

Oedipus the King a Tragic Hero
Marietta Shaw
English 1302 6504 Mrs.Weatherford
21 November 2011
A Tragic Hero Indeed! In Sophocles tragedy Oedipus the King, King Oedipus swears to solve the
murder of former King Laios in order to free the city from the plague. The plague taunts the city
destroying crops and livestock and making the women unable to bear children. A seer, Teirsias tells
Oedipus that he himself is Thebes s pollution for killing his father and marrying his mother. Oedipus
ignores his words and is blind to the truth until he discovers that it is he who corrupts the city. In order
to illustrate Oedipus as the perfect Aristotelian tragic hero, the reader must examine his noble stature
that gives him authority, his hamartia resulting in his downfall, ... Show more content on

Now Oedipus has to live the rest of his life in vein because he was running from something that was
destined to happen. Aristotle also believes that the punishment exceeds the crime ( Tragedy and
Comedy 1212). When Oedipus finds his mother and wife Iocaste dead from hanging herself he takes
his takes his own sight, Choragos sees Oedipus and asks what daemon leaped on your life with
heavier punishment than a mortal man can bear (Exodos 75 77). Choragos sees the pain and agony the
Oedipus has to endure for the rest of his life and acknowledges the fact that Oedipus is strong to have
been through so much. He sees that Oedipus has wronged because he didn t know but he still has to
suffer the consequences which is more in his eyes than a man can take. Aristotle s theory of a tragic
hero seems to have come directly from viewing Sophocles tragedy Oedipus the King. Oedipus is the
perfect example of an Aristotelian tragic hero. Oedipus possesses all of the attributes mentioned in
Aristotle s theory he was a king who has it all and is the cause of his tragic

Six Branches of Philospy
Reflection of the Six Branches of Philosophy
Various branches of philosophy have always become great debates in society. Many have questioned
metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, aesthetics, political philosophy and social philosophy. The author
will discuss and reflect on the six branches of philosophy in which she will describe a time in her life
when she have asked similar questions. In addition, the author will discuss specific circumstances that
brought her to each of the questions and what conclusions she came about.
Metaphysics

The common citizens helps electing political parties to help solve public issues which later links to
their government by classifying themselves as Democrats, Republican or Reform.
Social philosophy The author believes that society should be held under governing laws, which will
help protect the people in a bigger scheme of things. When a larger group is being protected it will
mean that people will have to give up a little of their rights. For example, after the 911 tragedy the
writer witnessed armed soldiers in the airport and also was pulled to the side and searched thoroughly.
At first, the author felt as if she was violated, but after boarding the airplane she felt really safe.
Although individuals give up some of their rights as citizens it serves as a means to decrease chaos in
our society. When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves
(Frankl, 2014).
Conclusion
In conclusion we end where we started philosophy can be divided into five branches which study the
existence, knowledge, action, force and art. The six branches each seek and question looking for
answers that have a relationship to what is the study of philosophy.

Teenage Pregnancy And Teen Pregnancy
Teenage pregnancy has been famously depicted as a situation that involves the female adolescents. For
one to be dubbed as a pregnant teenager, she ought to be at the early age of twelve years though in
most scenarios it has been fourteen and older. In the developed as well as developing countries, the
cause of the teenage pregnancy has been common with most of them being related to the specific
situation of the teenager as well as the group that the teenager interacts with. However, the rate of the
teenage pregnancy has been varying from one nation to another nation and has been related to the
variance of the sexual activities, general sex education as well as contraceptives that are accessible to
the teenagers (Atkinson, et al, 2016). In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once the population of the pregnant teenagers is compared with all the teenagers, the once who have
been seen to be susceptible to getting pregnant are more likely to have come from the poor or the low
income families and those who ends up giving birth having come from the disadvantaged background
(Putnam Hornstein, et al, 2016).
One of the situations that have been seen to be common in southern California is that poorer teenagers
have always not been experienced sexually as teenagers from the advantaged families, though they
have been much likely to become pregnant once they engage in the sexual practice. The teenagers that
have been hailing from the families that are financially stable have been more likely in terminating the
pregnancy once they discover it as compared to those from the disadvantaged families where the
teenagers have been opting to wait for delivery s they cannot support the termination of the pregnancy.
It is a factor that has been supported by the proof of nearly seventy percent of the high income
adolescents who become pregnant ending up in aborting. The figure is very high as compared to that
of the poor and low income families that rage between 20 to 30 percent (Putnam Hornstein, et al,
2013).
The socioeconomic factor has been affecting the education of the people directly and hence facilitating
the cases of teenage pregnancy. It is this aspect that the pregnant teenagers who are the parents have

Information Systems for Freight Forwarders
Information Systems Information Systems of Freight Forwarders Introduction Nowadays, Information
systems are crucial for the core processes of freight forwarders. In this report we will address an issue
of the use of a Port Community System. Freight forwarders tend to use their own information systems
for communication, instead of a central platform. Freight forwarders use various information systems
parallel to each other, since these in general are faster or they do not see the benefits of a system such
as Portbase for example. The purpose of this study is to understand the way in which freight

According to them it is especially the pan European transportation and the reliable/value added
services offered having the greatest importance. Although it is clear the increasing level of digital
information exchange through a common platform like a PCS is an important aspect for the future.
Currently the forwarding agents only want to reap the benefits of a PCS but are unwilling to bear the
investments necessary due to high switching barrier from the prior to the current system. (Fenex and
Syntens 2010 and van Baalen et al 2008). Only 45% of the participating freight forwarders in the
study by Fenex and Syntens (2010) consider the improvement and adaptation of a PCS as a top 3
priority for the years 2010 and 2011. While a considerable amount of 18% is not planning to improve
or adapt their digital information exchange with other actors for the coming years, due to the fact they
mainly consider a PCS at a similar level as a normal software provider (Leonard Barton 1988 and
Wigand et al 2005). In conclusion it can be said the main drivers for cooperating through a PCS are
increased efficiency by saving time and costs and the decreasing number of mistakes made as
described by Burckhardt et al(1998) and Fenex and Syntens (2010). While the main disadvantage can
be described as the high switching barrier for freight forwarders to adapt its current operations (with it

The Biblical Allusion of Lot s Wife in Slaughterhouse-Five...
Kurt Vonnegut s novel Slaughterhouse Five, uses the biblical allusion of Lot s wife looking back on
the destroyed cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to parallel the story of Billy Pilgrim during the war and
his experience after, when he returns to the United States. Although the reference is brief, it has
profound implications to the portrayal of America during World War II, especially the bombing of
Dresden. Although Lot s wife s action dooms her to turn into a pillar of salt, the narrator emphasizes
her choice to indicate the importance of being compassionate and having hindsight. Ultimately,
Slaughterhouse Five critiques the American social attitude to disregard the unjust nature of its actions
in World War II. Furthermore, Vonnegut s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This attitude refuses to place blame on American government or soldiers for the massacre of over a
hundred thousand civilians. It makes slaughter socially acceptable and necessary. The attitude,
championed by Rumfoord, does more than ignore the value of those lives lost, it refuses to
acknowledge the right of the soldiers who participated and witnessed firebombing to receive an
explanation for their actions. And, in both cases, innocents die or are unable to move forward from the
event. The allusion of Sodom and Gomorrah to Dresden is not a perfect parallel. God punishes Sodom
and Gomorrah because the whole city teems with corruption and sinfulness, while Dresden represents
the Nazi empire, but is not an inherently sinful place. However, the death of each implicates a loss of
innocence. The Nazism is evil, but the people of Dresden represent a complicated evil. They may be
part of the Nazi empire, but they act in a morally acceptable and socially upstanding manner. This
imperfect parallel further gives evidence that America acts in an evil way, even in combating evil. The
novel illustrates this by the industry located in Dresden: The syrup was enriched with vitamins and
minerals. The syrup was for pregnant women (203). The text offers that Americans kill neither sinners
nor heralds of sin, but those

struggling to maintain custody of his normal intelligence daughter. Within his circle of acquaintances
are four special needs adults who are his close friends and two normal intelligence adults who exhibit
disordered behavior. The writers, Kristin Johnson and Jessie Nelson, spent months researching and
observing developmentally disabled adults in order to provide an accurate representation of the issues

Two of the normal intelligence people in the film appeared more disabled than the above mentioned

compulsive stress eater, had anger explosions, was unable to focus, lacked parenting skills, and
exhibited relationship issues not only within her marriage but with her staff. The normal people
painted a portrait of being more handicapped than the disabled. The plight of Sam to maintain his
parental rights is one that is faced by the disabled community not only in the USA but abroad. They
lack the support services needed to help them thrive and raise their children. According to O Keeffe

removed from their care. He fought the best battle he could against a well meaning social worker,
prosecutor, and foster parent. His friends came to his aid to testify on his behalf although their ability
to support him was not effective. O Keeffe and O Hara also state that in the USA there are
approximately 1.4 million mentally retarded parents with children under the age of 18. Their findings

Gst Reform Proposal Essay
Policy issue:
Should the federal government proceed with broadening the base AND increasing the rate of the GST

Background:
Treasurer,
Despite Paul Keating expressing support for a consumption tax in 1985, the GST did not gain serious
political traction until it formed the centrepiece of the Fightback! platform championed by Liberal
opposition leader John Hewson. The difficulties of explaining the nuances of a goods and services tax

considered to be an unlosable election (Eccleston 2013).

Through increasing government revenue by approximately $27 billion the package would improve the

However, an issue with increasing or broadening consumption taxes such as the GST is that low
income households are disproportionately impacted due to flat increases in the price of goods and
services costing a higher percentage of their disposable income when compared to wealthier
households (Congressional Budget Office 1992, p. 75). A survey of low to middle income households
showed that 89% of respondents were either very concerned or quite concerned about broadening the
GST base (NSW Council of Social Service 2015, p. 39). In response, the Grattan Institute suggests
that GST reform can be made more progressive if it is bundled with a larger fiscal reform package

Introduction of Cardiovascular System and Aorta
Cardiovascular or circulation system is responsible transportation of hormones, supplying nutrients
and oxygen demands of tissues and also waste removal (8). Pulmonary circulation replenishes blood
with oxygen and eliminates carbon dioxide within lungs, and systemic circulation delivers blood to all
other parts of the body. All systemic circulation begins via aorta, the first blood vessel of the systemic

Outward remodeling is initiated with increased shear stress caused by high flow. The shear stress
signals endothelial cell proliferation and production of nitric oxide by endothelial cells (17, 20). Nitric
oxide induces metalloproteinases, degradation of extracellular matrix, inhibit proliferation of smooth
muscle cells and promote apoptosis of smooth muscle cells (20). Normal endothelium is resistant to
adhesion by monocytes; however, when exposed to shear stress, monocytes can attach to endothelium
(10). The recruited monocytes or macrophages, the mature form of monocytes, also play a key role in
remodeling by producing matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) among other tissues that produce MMPs
(10, 20). At least 13 different MMPs have been identified and MMP 2 and MMP 9 are noted to cleave
elastin (1). The matrix proteolytic activity or the breakdown of extracellular matrix is necessary as it
provides additional space for enlarging vessel (20) and also fragments of elastin allows for smooth

The Lifeblood On Any Online Business Is Traffic And...
The lifeblood on any online business is traffic and visibility. To get the most traffic, merchants create
affiliate programs, literally a virtual sales team to help promote their site and products. Anyone can
sign up to be an affiliate to most affiliate programs. You promote their products, they do all the
customer service, shipping, and refunds of the product. You promote, and when the merchant makes a
sale from a customer that you referred, you make a commission.
The merchant may choose to pay a flat fee or a percentage of the product s price. Let s say you re
promoting a $149 product, and the merchant pays you a 50% commission. For every sale you refer,
you earn a $74.50 commission. To track the people that you refer to the site, you re given an affiliate
link. These are links that are coded with identifiable information so that the merchant knows that the
customer came from your link and you are credited with the sale. Some merchants pay as high as 75%
commission.
Affiliate marketing is probably the easiest way to start an online business. You don t need to have a
website, products, a customer service or shipping department. You simply send traffic to the merchant

Reflection Paper On Narcissism
Reading this week s articles became all too personal for me as I began to reflect on the book that I am
writing in which the protagonist is a narcissist. When telling people about my book most people
cannot get past the fact that the protagonist is my mother, but her narcissistic personality is what
created the storyline for my entire text. She has many of the classic attributes of a narcissist, my
favorite (from a writer s perspective) is her immense lack of empathy. It is extremely incredible that
what little empathy she can find she can control based on who she is with and what the specific
circumstances are. While the book may shed light on some of the negative things she has done in her
past or the negative behaviors associated with her narcissism I have been sure to include an entire
chapter detailing my belief that narcissism should be considered an objective personality type.
Narcissism has an enormous amount of negative connotation surrounding it which is ironic to be
because there are positive attributes some of which many of us share.
The article mentioned, Most of us have elements of all three, when referring to the three main
personality types of erotics, obsessives, and narcissists (Maccoby). I agree with Maccoby which is
why I think it is important that we continue to find a place in the workplace for those who are
narcissistic and abrasive because even though we may not agree with their style we must welcome
diversity in order to avoid groupthink. I think that ensuring a well balanced mix of personalities in a
workplace can boost production and allow leaders to rise from the shadows of abrasive and
narcissistic leaders who may have overstayed their welcome. Another benefit to maintaining the
abrasive personality in the workplace is to encourage the high achiever in the room who may have the
leadership skills to take over a conversation and just need the right opportunity to do so. If a high
achiever gets fed up with another s behavior it may serve as a catalyst for his/her management of the
group.
If an abrasive worker is also a brilliant one, then we must give him/her a chance to find success within
the organization. If one allows his/her personality to get in the way of success,

Perceptions Of Gods During Ancient Civilizations
Gabrielle Gehr
WOH 2012 82047
Rough Draft
24 October 2014
Topic: Perceptions of Gods During Ancient Civilizations
Thesis:
Manifestation of gods fulfilled the needs of developing ancient civilizations.
Body of Evidence: 1. Thousands of years ago, before there were scopes, meters, and other types of
scientific instruments, it must have been difficult for early, developing civilizations to understand the
universe around them. Man looked up, casted his eyes to the heavens, and observed what he saw.
Lacking a scientific understanding, manifestations of gods helped primitive cultures to make sense of
the world around them. In fact, the first gods to be worshipped were the forces of nature. It seems any
force that is more powerful or difficult ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The presence of gods led people to a scary observation regarding personal life: morality. This new
piece of knowledge made people aware that life was only temporary. For the first time it became clear
that humans on earth would die at some point in their lives. Many people are scared of dying and have
every right to be especially considering what happens beyond life is uncertain. From this, a very
important question arose: What happens to a person after they die? The creation of gods seemed to
answer this question and calmed fears. Out of all of the religions, Islam may be the most detailed in
what happens after death and what lies ahead. According to the Qur an, the Islam god or Allah created
the earth and the seven heavens for his people. Islamic religion teaches that the soul will continue to
exist after death and Allah decides the human life span of any earthling. Then causeth him to die and
burieth him; Then, when he [God] pleaseth, will raise him again to life (Excerpts from the Qur an, pg
25). There is a direct relationship between ones actions on earth and what happens to their soul after
the death of the human body. ...and that thou mayest warn them of that day of the Gathering, of which
there is no doubt when part shall be in Paradise and part in the flame. (Excerpts from the Qur an, pg
27). The afterlife will either be one of punishments or one of rewards. The Muslims believe that there
will be a day of judgment for all humans. God will resurrect and

Florida Black Bear Research Paper
In 1997, while bow hunting in the Ocala National Forest. I saw two large male bears eating grubs and
one of them caught and begun to eat a Cotton Tail rabbit. They were approximately ½ mile from each
other. It seemed like the very second that the bear with the rabbit tore it apart, I saw the other bear lift
his nose to the air and was at a full run and was to the other bear within a minute. The first bear was
bigger, but the second bear seemed to be hungrier and quickly took the remains of the rabbit away and
out of sight. Thinking that it was a waste of time to remain in the area I returned to my jeep to head
back to camp and get some lunch for myself. Upon reaching the logging road that lead to my jeep, I
found large bear prints within my ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Prior to the late 1900s they roamed throughout Florida, over 53,000 square miles of land. From the
Panhandle to the Keys, to the southern edges of our neighboring states. At that time an estimated
twelve to twenty thousand black bears roamed throughout Florida.
Since then, between deforestation, unregulated hunting prior to 1950 s, habitat loss and habitat
fragmentation, have resulted in the loss of a substantial portion of the Florida black bear population
and 80% of its habitat. As a result, in 1974 the black bear was listed by the state of Florida as a
threatened species in through out the state with the exception of The Apalachicola National Forest and
Baker and Columbia counties. At that time all hunting for Black Bears in the state of Florida was
suspended until future notice.
In 1974 bear estimates were between 300 and 400 bears, in 2002 just eight years later with the help of
Central Florida Farmers Association approximately 132,000 acres were set aside for bear habitation.
Due to these and the efforts groups like TreeHuggerofAmerica, Defender.org and the FWC (Florida
Wildlife Commission) the bear population started growing and growing and growing. From three to

Romulus And Remus In Ancient Rome
Romulus and Remus are characters created by Rome, for their origin story, when they adopted Greece
s gods and goddesses. Romulus and Remus are twins, who their mother, Rhea Silvia, claimed the god
of war, Mars (Greek counterpart: Ares), as their father. Although Mars is claimed as their father, and
the two are considered legendary figures, Romulus and Remus do not have any notable powers.
Alba Longa is a city on the coast of Italy, which the ruler eventually became a king named Numitor.
But the rightful ruler s rule was taken by force by his brother, Amulius. Amulius decided to assure that
no descendants of Numitor could challenge him, so he forced Rhea Silvia, the daughter of Numitor, to

shepherd named Faustulus discovered the the infants, and raised the them in secret.
The two were noted as trouble makers while young men, and eventually, when Amulius and Numitor s
herdsmen quarreled, Remus was found stealing cattle belonging to Numitor. Amulius decided to give
Remus to Numitor for punishment. After talking with the Remus, Numitor realized that he was Remus

Proceeding the meet of Numitor and Remus, they began to plan a way to overthrow Amulius.

the two authors also announce predominantly, the adopted child faces all of the general problems of
development encountered by his non adopted peers (Sallee 2). Sallee and LeVine are unspecific as to
whether an adoptee s aspects in his or her life are discovered as a young child, adolescent, or adult.
The general problems are casually written, so this statement cannot be proved in this passage but can
be easily be supported by the prior arguments of other authors. However, adoptive parents may be
more sensitive to psychological dysfunction and more likely to obtain clinical services for their
adopted children (Nilsson 9). Even though ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unlike the emotional problems of adoptees compared to those of those not adopted, international
adoptees presented fewer behavior problems and are less often referred to mental health services than
domestic adoptees (Juffer 2). Although in a case study of twelve to fifteen year old boys that compared
international adoptees to non adoptees, the adopted children scored higher in the problematic behavior
section and lower in their social and academic functioning. These scores were taken from a chart
related to delinquency and hyperactivity in adopted and non adopted teenagers (Cerhulst 1). In the
same study though, adoptees were found to have more participation in sport and non sport activities.
Based on this finding, adopted children may have a social advantage on another aspect of childhood,
making friends and a good physical health. However, in another general study, adoptees are more
likely to have difficulties with drug and alcohol abuse, as well as, infertility, suicide and untimely
pregnancies later in life (Bohman 1). From these results, adopted children are more likely than those
not adopted to have additional problems stemming from their psychological issues if not early in life,
later in life. Taking drug and alcohol abuse into account, from a national sample, adoptees had higher
prevalence rates of lifetime SUDs than

Northup On Slavery
Black slaves were in the situation that little help would be given to the group from the society. As
Northup s thought when he first beat his master, An unfriended, helpless slave what could I do, what
could I say, to justify, in the remotest manner, the heinous act I had committed, of resenting a white
man s contumely and abuse (112). No one would help him even though what he did was fight back for
his unequal treatment. It seemed that slaves was born to be treated like this; they should only obey
their masters; they should take whatever the white gave; they should not complain about anything.
There was not right or wrong, but only what the white said and what the black obeyed. Northup wrote
helplessly:
How heavily the weight of slavery pressed upon me then. I must ... Show more content on

The system of slave occurred in South instead of North mostly because of the planation economy in
the South. To support the slavery system, slavery holders used religions belief to explain their
misdeed. For instance, Mr. Tanner read Bible to his slaves, and emphasized the sentence that servant
which knew his lord s will, and prepared not himself, prepared not himself, neither did according to
his will, shall be beaten with many stripes (128). He used Bible to back up the idea that slaves have to
obey their masters, or they would face severe punishment. In fact, there is nothing wrong with the
Bible or Christianity. However, because of the slavery system, religions have been used in wrong way
that violate human s right. When southerners believed the righteous of slavery, they would keep
digging authoritative sources in order to protect it. With time went by, slavery penetrated in people s
mind and no one step forward to doubt it. In Northup s point of view, the wrong idea of slavery were
more like a culture influence in the South rather than the choice of individual southerners. Just as what

Developments in database processing w6,13,15,28x, data warehousing w16,18x, machine learning
w4,12,25x and knowledge management w2,14,24x have contributed greatly to our understanding of
the data mining process. More recent research on data mining and knowledge discovery w20,26,27x
has further enhanced our understanding of the application of data mining and the knowledge discovery
process. But, most research has focused on the theoretical and computational process of pattern
discovery and a narrow set of applications such as fraud detection or risk prediction. Given the
important role played by marketing decisions in the current customer centric environment, there is a
need for a simple and integrated framework for a systematic management of customer knowledge.
But, there is a surprising lack of a simple and overall framework to link the extraction of customer
knowledge with the management and application of the knowledge, particularly in the context of
marketing decisions. While data mining studies have focused on the techniques, customer relationship
studies have focused on the interface to the customer and the strategies to manage customer
interactions. True customer relationship management is possible only by integrating the knowledge
discovery process with the management and use of the knowledge for marketing strategies. This will
help marketers address customer needs based on what the marketers know about

  • 4. The Relationship Between Faith And Reason In Pope John... Pope John Paul II found it important enough to talk about the relationship between faith and reason in his encyclical Fides et Ratio. An encyclical is a letter that is sent to all of the bishops of the Roman Catholic Church and addresses a problem, or important topic that the pope believes needs to be discussed. In Fides et Ratio, Pope John Paul II really emphasizes the importance of the relationship between faith and reason and how it has to do with the trust and faith put in God. This encyclical written in 1998 was meant for all of the members of the Catholic Church to understand and begin thinking about the big questions that define their faith, as well as to once again be able to reason with their faith. If there was never a questioning of faith, there would be no reason for the followers of the Catholic Church to continue to follow a man that we accept as our Lord. Faith and reason go hand in hand just like identity and relevance. Without one, you cannot have the other and still achieve full meaning. It is possible to have only faith and just live a life based on faith alone. It is also possible to only reason through everything. However, when dealing with religion, Pope John Paul II makes it a point to show the followers if Christ that they need to have an equal balance of both faith and reason in order to attempt to comprehend who Jesus Christ the Son of God was, who in fact God is, and have the knowledge to grow and understand the Roman Catholic beliefs. Cognitive Radio Ad Hoc Networks Game Theoretic Approach to Detect Selfish Attacker in Cognitive Radio Ad Hoc Networks Abstract In wireless communication, spectrum resources are utilized by authorities in particular fields. Most of the elements in spectrum are idle. Cognitive radio is a promising technique for allocating the idle spectrum into unlicensed users. Game theoretic model is proposed to detect the selfish attacker in CRAHNs. Channel state information (CSI) is considered to inform each user s channel handing information. The two strategy of Nash Equilibrium game model such as pure and mixed strategy for secondary users (SUs) and selfish secondary users (SSUs) are investigated and the selfish attacker is detected. Moreover a novel belief updating system is also proposed to the secondary users for knowing the CSI of the primary user. A simulation result shows that, game theoretic model is achieved to increase the detection rate of selfish attackers. And, in both cases, innocents die or are unable to move forward from the event. The allusion of Sodom and Gomorrah to Dresden is not a perfect parallel. God punishes Sodom and Gomorrah because the whole city teems with corruption and sinfulness, while Dresden represents the Nazi empire, but is not an inherently sinful place. However, the death of each implicates a loss of innocence. The Nazism is evil, but the people of Dresden represent a complicated evil. They may be part of the Nazi empire, but they act in a morally acceptable and socially upstanding manner. This imperfect parallel further gives evidence that America acts in an evil way, even in combating evil. Critical Review Sam I Am Essay Critical Review: I Am Sam The movie, I am Sam, is the portrayal of a mentally retarded single parent struggling to maintain custody of his normal intelligence daughter. Within his circle of acquaintances are four special needs adults who are his close friends and two normal intelligence adults who exhibit disordered behavior. The writers, Kristin Johnson and Jessie Nelson, spent months researching and observing developmentally disabled adults in order to provide an accurate representation of the issues faced by the special needs population. The central character is Sam Dawson around whom the movie is woven. The normal people painted a portrait of being more handicapped than the disabled. The plight of Sam to maintain his parental rights is one that is faced by the disabled community not only in the USA but abroad. Background: Treasurer, Despite Paul Keating expressing support for a consumption tax in 1985, the GST did not gain serious political traction until it formed the centrepiece of the Fightback! platform championed by Liberal opposition leader John Hewson. The difficulties of explaining the nuances of a goods and services tax (GST) to the public significantly contributed to Hewson losing in 1993 what many commentators considered to be an unlosable election (Eccleston 2013). A survey of low to middle income households showed that 89% of respondents were either very concerned or quite concerned about broadening the GST base (NSW Council of Social Service 2015, p. 39). Cardiovascular System And Aorta Lab Report Introduction of Cardiovascular System and Aorta Cardiovascular or circulation system is responsible transportation of hormones, supplying nutrients and oxygen demands of tissues and also waste removal (8). Pulmonary circulation replenishes blood with oxygen and eliminates carbon dioxide within lungs, and systemic circulation delivers blood to all other parts of the body. All systemic circulation begins via aorta, the first blood vessel of the systemic circulation and the largest artery of the body. Normal endothelium is resistant to adhesion by monocytes; however, when exposed to shear stress, monocytes can attach to endothelium (10). The recruited monocytes or macrophages, the mature form of monocytes, also play a key role in remodeling by producing matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) among other tissues that produce MMPs (10, 20). At least 13 different MMPs have been identified and MMP 2 and MMP 9 are noted to cleave elastin (1). To get the most traffic, merchants create affiliate programs, literally a virtual sales team to help promote their site and products. Anyone can sign up to be an affiliate to most affiliate programs. You promote their products, they do all the customer service, shipping, and refunds of the product. You promote, and when the merchant makes a sale from a customer that you referred, you make a commission. The merchant may choose to pay a flat fee or a percentage of the product s price. Let s say you re promoting a $149 product, and the merchant pays you a 50% commission. For every sale you refer, you earn a $74.50 commission. To track the people that you refer to the site, you re given an affiliate link. These are links that are coded with identifiable information so that the merchant knows that the customer came from your link and you are credited with the sale. Some merchants pay as high as 75% commission. Affiliate marketing is probably the easiest way to start an online business. You don t need to have a website, products, a customer service or shipping department. You simply send traffic to the merchant s website, and earn commissions. When telling people about my book most people cannot get past the fact that the protagonist is my mother, but her narcissistic personality is what created the storyline for my entire text. She has many of the classic attributes of a narcissist, my favorite (from a writer s perspective) is her immense lack of empathy. It is extremely incredible that what little empathy she can find she can control based on who she is with and what the specific circumstances are. While the book may shed light on some of the negative things she has done in her past or the negative behaviors associated with her narcissism I have been sure to include an entire chapter detailing my belief that narcissism should be considered an objective personality type. Narcissism has an enormous amount of negative connotation surrounding it which is ironic to be because there are positive attributes some of which many of us share. The article mentioned, Most of us have elements of all three, when referring to the three main personality types of erotics, obsessives, and narcissists (Maccoby). I agree with Maccoby which is why I think it is important that we continue to find a place in the workplace for those who are narcissistic and abrasive because even though we may not agree with their style we must welcome diversity in order to avoid groupthink. I think that ensuring a well balanced mix of personalities in a workplace can boost production and allow leaders to rise from the shadows of abrasive and narcissistic leaders who may have overstayed their welcome. Another benefit to maintaining the abrasive personality in the workplace is to encourage the high achiever in the room who may have the leadership skills to take over a conversation and just need the right opportunity to do so. If a high achiever gets fed up with another s behavior it may serve as a catalyst for his/her management of the group. If an abrasive worker is also a brilliant one, then we must give him/her a chance to find success within the organization. If one allows his/her personality to get in the way of success, ...
