I Am Mallala By Malala Yousafzai
I AM Malala
I Am Malala by Malala Yousafzai is a story that shows how a young Muslim girl stood up for
education and changed the world. When Malala Yousafzai was ten years old, the first female prime
minister of Pakistan, Benazir Bhutto, was shot dead. Young Malala had witnessed this act of terrorism
on tv, and from that day forward, she promised herself that she would continue the fight for peace and
democracy in Pakistan. Malala went on to be interviewed by her local TV stations and newspapers.
During these interviews, Malala would speak on the topic of education for all. At age 13, Malala s
school was invited to take part in the District Child Assembly swat. Malala was elected speaker of this
group. Together the group passed nine resolutions such as rebuilding schools destroyed by the Taliban.
Malala remained as calm as a summer sea and never took revenge on her attackers. Malala was a
powerful young girl.
To begin with, Malala Yousafzai was a young Muslim girl who believed strongly that everybody
should be educated. During her young life, Malala had to live with death threats and being shot in the
head. Throughout all of her suffering, Malala never complained. During her school days, Malala
realised that people who were often called upon during class were those in the front row. After
noticing this Malala came up with the idea to rotate seats each week to make sure that everyone had a
fair chance to be educated. With the rotation routine everybody

Summary Of My Papa s Waltz
The Waltz in a Ballroom of my Memory
A waltz is a beautiful dance done between two partners in 3 4ths time; a magical dance done
rhythmically around a ballroom. Cinderella and her prince did it; Belle and the Beast did it. Now we
see that Theodore Roethke and his father have done it. While the subject of My Papa s Waltz has
spurred passionate academic debates from professors, scholars, and students alike, the imagery,
syntax, and diction of the poem clearly supports the interpretation that Theodore Roethke wrote My
Papa s Waltz as a reflection on the short childhood memories he had with his father. Indeed, the theory
that the author s father was abusive, is agreeable to a point, I cannot accept the overall conclusion that
the whole poem was written as a reflection on the author s abuse from his father. The hand that held
my wrist[, w]as battered on one knuckle, Roethke states in stanza 3. Though one can see how the two
lines can be taken as if the father was firmly grasping the child s wrist, while at the same time, others
see it as a father gently holding ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although many can argue that this poem is entirely based on the abuse his father brought upon
Roethke, Many others believe that this poem is a reflection of his childhood memories, which the
author remembers fondly. Not only had Roethke s father died when he was a teenager, but his uncle, to
which he was very close to, committed suicide. Considering he was surrounded by a dense cloud of
death, It is obvious that the poem is about fond memories Roethke remembers about his father many
years ago. Roethke didn t have the best relationship with his father, there were some ups and downs,
to which we can all relate to. However, he loved his father more than anything, which is just as lovely
of a thought as a waltz is a

How Does Religion Change Australia
Christianity is a major religious tradition due to the institutionalisation of Christianity in Australia; it
has remained the major religious tradition. The Immigration Restriction Act 1901 allowed European
immigrants, bringing a majority of Christian adherents and ensuring the demographic stay. With the
release of the White Australia Policy in the 1950 s and its elimination in 1973, Australia has been
increasing in a diversity of faiths, however mainly remain Christian. However Christianity deceased
later on due to the introduction of other mainstream religions due to migration. Large, traditional
churches such as the Anglican and uniting church have lost many members due to the ageing
population, low birth rates and movement to non religion. Catholic remains steady due to immigration,
however Eastern orthodox members are rising due to immigration and it is these churches that have a
young profile.

Computer Hacking
Computer hacking is the practice of modifying computer hardware and software to accomplish a goal
outside of the creator s original purpose. People who engage in computer hacking activities are often
called hackers. Since the word hack has long been used to describe someone who is incompetent at
his/her profession, some hackers claim this term is offensive and fails to give appropriate recognition
to their skills.
Computer hacking is most common among teenagers and young adults, although there are many older
hackers as well. Many hackers are true technology buffs who enjoy learning more about how
computers work and consider computer hacking an art form. They often enjoy programming and have

If you are interested in protecting your home computer against malicious hackers, investing in a good
firewall is highly recommended. It s also a good idea to check your software programs for updates on
a regular basis. For example, Microsoft offers a number of free security patches for its Internet
Explorer browser.
Issues
A number of issues arise in considering hacking from the educator perspective. First, we need to
consider the fact that the public perception of hackers is mixed, and that hacking and being considered
a hacker can be quite appealing to students who are going through developmental periods in which
they are defining themselves, as well as challenging authority and rules. There is often a Robin Hood
mentality to early actions, though it is unclear exactly who the poor are, and how they are
beingcompensated . Second, the anonymity of actions which hackers perform against others often
enhances the severity of actions. For example, an adolescent who would never consider picking
someone s pocket or physically damaging someone else s property or home, might be quite willing to
steal people s credit card numbers or destroy poorly protected business or government files, since files
and credit card numbers are not tangible entities, and the damage is done anonymously.

Hybrid Types Of Hybrid Electric Vehicles
Full Hybrid Transmission System 1 FULL HYBRID DESCRIPTION Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV)
differentiates from basic electric vehicles (EV) through their use of two power sources. The purpose of
having two power sources is to utilize the properties of both the electric component and combustion
engine to create a vehicle that s more efficient and less environmentally damaging. Different types of
hybrid systems utilise different properties of the power sources through compromise, allowing better
performance for the vehicles specifications. Full Hybrids, considered the most fuel efficient, can
automatically swap between series, parallel and full electric modes (further explained below) allowing
the vehicle to run at full utilization and economy through different uses, such as in traffic, highway
driving and racing. Examples of full hybrid vehicles include that of the Toyota Prius and many of
Toyota s Synergy Drive Hybrid range. Series powertrains refer to using an electric motor to rotate the
wheels, whilst the alternate power source drives an on board generator which essentially increases the
reliability of the electric motor without directly powering the wheels. Unlike series mode, in parallel
mode both power sources are used to provide power to the wheels. This can be configured in a wide
variety of ways by alternating the use of full electric or full combustions, or having different wheels
powered by different sources, i.e. front wheels electric drive and back wheels

The Grade Of Grade Inflation
The grade a student receives depicts the knowledge one has on a particular subject. In the United
States, grades are based on; numerous tests, homework s, projects, and participation. This academic
curriculum students grades are based on gives them, a lot of leg room to improve their grades. On the
other hand, students turn in minimal work, hoping to be given an A. Therefore, the average grade in
the United States, has gone up due to the lack of effort students are putting into their work, which is
called a grade inflation. Nonetheless, many assumptions have been created on whether or not, it is the
students fault or the educators fault for grade inflations. The accusation of whether or not faculty

Students who attended colleges and universities around the mid 1900 s, used to study and learn more
than the students in the 21st century. Due to the fact that during that time period, educators taught their
students to learn the subject for the long run rather than to only study for the upcoming exam.
Currently, the institutions curriculum has been dumbed, the reason to that is some educators are trying
to benefit the institution and some students are not putting effort into the course. According to
Minnesota State University The period from 1955 to 1965 has been described as a period of grade
deflation. The average grade and GPA remained static even though the student body possessed higher
and higher SAT and ACT scores. During this period, grading did not rise to reward the better qualified
students . (N.P.) Grades received within 1955 to 1965 decreased because educators had a higher
academic expectation of the students work. This is because of the knowledge and tools the students

Essay on Women in Violent Relationships
What is Love? Webster s dictionary defines love as a strong, deep affection. Many of those who are or
have been in love can definitely agree with that. My definition for love is all of earth s surroundings
that make one feel good or happy; to me, love is not just love towards another, but it is also love
towards something beyond. Everyone knows that love is a beautiful thing to experience: it feels like
all the happiness in the world is in your hands and you could never be happier. But what happens,
coming from a woman s perspective, when your husband uses that love as a weapon against you?
What if he raised his hands against his woman, bruising his hands so that they started to swell up?

She sees that he has a well paying job that keeps a roof over their heads and food in their stomachs, or,
that they have kids together. The only reason she lives with her hopeless plight is because she wants
her children to grow up with a father figure still in their lives. Author Rabbi Julius Gordon once said,
Love is not blind, it sees more, not less. But because it sees more, it is willing to see less. But doesn t
love if it wants to see less, cause itself to be blind? In my opinion, it does. Because her love overlooks
all the wrong he s doing, it is choosing to be blind. But is not love supposed to be beautiful? Is not
love supposed to make someone happy? If so, why are so many women pulling back from getting help
and from doing something about their situations as victims? Many of these unfortunate women know
what the outcome would be if they tried to do something about their situations. For a battered woman,
because she knows what will happen, she chooses to turn away from seeking help. Women in
situations like these are neglecting to see the truth. Love is blind if the person in love is refusing to see
the things that are going wrong or hurting the relationship. In the Holy Bible, 1 Corinthians, Chapter
13 verse 6, states, It (love) does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth.

The Campaign, A Good And Positive Light
Identity As we created this campaign, we developed several themes, symbols, motives and values in
order to bring the project together and ensure the audience would receive it favorably, or in a
beneficial and positive light. In the campaign, there are two primary themes, the first of which is
recognition. In general, KULT is an unknown and ambiguous organization that needs to build a brand
or an image for itself among students. The second theme of the campaign is unity. KULT wants to be
seen as an organization that offers specific services and content to students who listen to the station or
work for it. The goal of the campaign, then, is to provide a unified message to the audience showing
exactly what KULT is, what it can do for students, and what it means to be involved. The message will
unify the student body by presenting these facts, creating a sense of understanding and interest in the
station. These two themes are carried out in several ways. Our motive is to bring students together in
recognizing and understanding KULT so they can not only enjoy it, but take advantage of it. Our
values are focused around those of KULT: offering something new and fun to benefit the panther
community in whatever ways they can and building a community in the station. We bring these
elements together with a symbol: a new logo for KULT. By tying these elements together and
promoting them through the message and new logo, people will have a better understanding of KULT
and its

Sunni Vs Shiites Essay
Shiites vs Sunnis
Jihaad Barnett

Losing a leader can be very chaotic when they retire or pass on. Questions occur about the next leader,
arguments begin, and relationships divide. Islam is a prime example of these events when the founder
of the religion, Muhammad, passed on and left the Muslims without a leader. Thus started the
separation of Islam into the factions the Shiites and Sunnis because of a disagreement of who will
succeed Muhammad as his predecessor.
Before the discussion of the difference of the Shiites and Sunnis and why they split into these groups,
it s important to understand who exactly is Muhammad and why he is so important to Islam. To begin
with, Islam was started by Muhammad when he was visited by the archangel Gabriel, where the
archangel sent a message to Muhammad from Allah. Muhammad had the remarkable ... Show more

The information provided by Hutchinson from Islamic Empire (2016) in Age of Conquests says that
the history of Islamic conquest begins with the rise of Muhammad in Mecca where he shared his
experiences with others which gained him followers of this new faith, while being persecuted by
Meccans, therefore he had to flee to the Arabian City of Medina. While in Medina, Muhammad gained
more followers and established an army that he led against Mecca. This battle began with raiding each
other s camps, or ghawz, until Muhammad s forces outnumbered the Meccans, defeating them in 624.
Afterwards, Muhammad rose in power in Mecca as leader and converted most of the citizens into
Muslims. As the leader of Mecca, Muhammad was aided by tribes of Bedouin against Meccans who
had not converted and Arab tribes until 630, when Mecca surrendered to Muhammad thus many
Meccans converted. After the death of Muhammad in 632, the Muslims were prepared for a rapid

This also is a reoccurring problem in Korea between the North and South. As seen in the map showing
the similarities of the results of the Korean War and the Vietnam War, we can see the similarity that
following the Cold War the North and South of both countries were split due to the difference in
communism and non communism. The North of both countries followed into communist ways while
the South of both countries remained non communist. This map shows he similarities in how the Cold
War split the country apart. The Vietnam War happened in 1954 because the South were not
communist and the North were communist which was the same situation in Korea. The US sent troops
to Vietnam to assist the South because they too, hated communism. The North Vietnamese utilized
secret tunnels and traps to fight against the south. The War ended in 1973 when both sides split and
still are split today just like Korea. (Document 6) Communism played a part in India foreign policy in
1956. The United Kingdom always had control of India until 1947 when they broke apart. During this
time India decided to pass a foreign policy that stated that India would not be able to align with any
major powers which was unusual because India had close military ties with the Soviet Union, a major
power. Although in the end the policy was not in affect because they broke apart with the Soviet
Union, India hoped to create powerful ties with the US and Europe. In 1956 India s foreign policy was
that they did not want to interfere with any major powers. They did not want to interfere or align them
self to any powers like the US or Soviets even thought they looked to the Soviets for military help and
sought to created ties with the US. Overall, the Cold War affected India by implementing a foreign
policy that restricted them from having anything to do with other powerful countries.

This revision included the utilities competitive position as part of its financial rating. FPL s positions
rose based on the new criteria, placing them in the top 10% of publicly owned utilities. Major Issues
Confronting FPL in 1994 In spite of a favorable position rating, FPL cannot ignore the deregulation
movements threatening their current business landscape. The most important issues facing FPL in
May 1994 are potential competition resulting from industry deregulation and their high payout ratio.
1) Retail Wheeling The threat of retail wheeling within FPL s market forces management to consider
whether or not they can maintain high payout ratios. Retail wheeling is reshaping the utilities industry
and if enacted in Florida, it will bring grave challenges to the future of FPL. 2) Low Capacity Margin
FPL must prepare for increased competition from the establishment of retail wheeling and other forms
of distribution deregulation. FPL is an old firm which is running at roughly 92% capacity. Their low
capacity margin (8.6%) suggests that they have less room for growth compared to their competitors.
FPL must work to foster growth in order to survive in an evolving industry. 3) Transmission Power

The Time Period Of The Cold War
The time period of the Cold War was a breeding ground for ideological change. It was an era filled
with fear and paranoia, not simply of the unknown, but of neighbours, friends, and family. World War
II, the atomic bomb, the Cold War, made it hard for Americans to continue their optimism historian
Stephen Ambrose commented. This paradigm shift is evident in the texts from the era, and by studying
them we come to understand the values and atmosphere of the time and the effect those values had on
the texts. The Cold War began after the end of World War II, after the atomic bombing of Hiroshima
and Nagasaki by the United States of America; that continued until the early 90s with the dissolving of
the Soviet Union. The two sides of the Cold War were the Western Bloc and Eastern Bloc, which are
terms given to the alliances formed by the USA and NATO; and the USSR and the Warsaw Pact
respectively. Named for its lack of major conflict or bloodshed between its two super powers, the USA
and USSR, despite the wars that occurred that those super powers supported, the Korean War and the
Vietnam War. After the bombing and subsequent end of WW II, the world was reeling from the
unprecedented destruction it caused as well as the implications and effects it would have on not only
war but society itself. During this time both a nuclear arms race and the space race occurred.
Primarily the Cold War was a power struggle between the USA and USSR, and their conflicting ideals
of capitalism

accepts it and this could be because she has seen the consequences it had on her sister.
There are two clear parts to the story: one about the life in the Pakistani village and the other in the
English estate. Although there is a big distance between the two places and also a big difference
between the two cultures and societies, life didn t change much for Nazneen. She lived in a small
council estate and there were situations that reminded her or closely linked back home for her at
Pakistan. (i.e. The smell of the bins next to her house, her house in Pakistan had a similar smell close
by). There are many paragraphs but they are all relatively short. This could represent the many small
changes that happen through the life of Nazneen.
This text is written in a serious tone, and not humorous and doesn t aim to be. This piece of text uses a
lot of metaphorical language for the reader to ponder and imagine. The hawk: circled and fell like a
stone, came up again and flew against the sky until it shrank to nothing. This is one of the metaphors
that are used that

What Has Changed The Role Of Education In The 1920 s
Between 1870 to 1988, there has been a significant change in education which has affected the type of
education we have today. The main change in education has been the curriculum and the access to
education. Society and education have been developed immensely that has allowed women and
working class children to have access to education.
Since 1870, the education curriculum has seen many changes of development that has had a positive
outcome on education. Three main identified changes are the shift of emphasis from the person to the
child then the teacher s role changes from training to help development and growth. Finally creating a
better environment for mental and physical growth. Schools were run under the churches, so the

There were no child centred curriculum and it began to look at children as children and how to
improve the organisation of the school system. Then finally in 1988, the National Curriculum was

with other foundation subjects. The National curriculum will allow us to compare school s results.

Why Jefferson Davis Won The Civil War
On April 2nd, Jefferson Davis, Southern President , fled his home and the Confederate capitol,
Richmond, Virginia after burning important documents. The fire spread accidentally from the
documents to the town, destroying many blocks of the city (See map on right). Davis had a train
scheduled to leave at 8:30 pm, but it didn t leave until 11:00 pm. He went to Danville, Virginia where
he is expected to be hiding out.
Davis got warned by Robert E. Lee that the Union army was coming to Richmond. The telegram said
I advise that all preparation be made for leaving Richmond tonight . Davis previously sent his family
away to safety, showing he might have assumed this would happen. However, he didn t plan for the
fire of the documents to spread to the town.
With Richmond burning, the Confederate leader in hiding, and the main Southern general failing in
many of the past battles, the South is in pieces, and it is no surprise the Union won this war. Southern
leaders, including Davis will most likely be charged with treason but what will be done with Southern
supporters is unknown at this point. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He was president of the Confederacy for four years out of his six year term. His first major command
as president was to bomb Fort Sumter when he saw Union ships coming to supply the fort. This is
recognized as the start of the war, so the Civil War was started by Jefferson Davis. When General
Robert E. Lee surrendered to General Ulysses S. Grant, Davis disagreed. He wanted the war to go on
long enough for the Union to get tired of it. We would not want to pay for it any longer, not want any
more casualties and eventually surrender. Surprisingly, it was his own star general who

Dr. Childer s Sermon Summary
Dr. Childers is the Dean and Vice President for Academic Affairs and Professor of Homiletics and
Speech Communication at the San Francisco Theological Seminary. She is a Presbyterian minister
who has served in congregations in New Jersey and Kansas. She holds a B.A. from Wheaton College,
M.Div degree from Princeton Theological Seminary and Ph.D. from the Graduate Theology in
Berkeley, California. Dr. Childers sermon is a continuation of a lectionary cycle from the book of
Luke. She opens her sermon with a sad goodbye to Luke and the stories of the prodigal son, good
Samaritan and the lost sheep. Her audience consisted, mostly of 40 Caucasian senior citizens. Her
biblical narrative is extracted from Luke 13 and pertains to the woman that was crippled for eighteen
years. To introduce her sermon entitled Softly and Tenderly she asks several questions ... Show more

I do see some usage of Anna Carter Florence s testimony as she herself becomes a part of the story
and invites the audience to join her. I also see Thomas Long s concept of focus and function whereas
the focus is God s tenderness and love and the function being that although we live in a world that is
filled with hatred and violence, God s tenderness and understanding is still available for us to grab
hold of today. Watching Dr. Chiders not only was an absolutely delight, it has also shown me how I
can improve my preaching. Her introduction of questions allowed the audience to put their own
thinking caps on and gain their own perspective. Her body movement (arms and hands were feeling
every emotion), the expressions on her face changed with each new situation, her tone of voice (from
soft to loud to according to the story) the laughter that help offset the seriousness of the story and the

Democratic Morality and the Administrative Law Essay
John Rohr views on Democratic Morality and the Administrative Law and how these laws affect the
organizations. Democratic Morality deals with the issue that large organizations will have more
control or influence on the development of policy. The Administrative law is concern with the legal
aspect of the organization and the fairness across the board. The author examines the administrative
law of democratic morality between the periods of 1800s and 1900s, with emphasis on the how
democratic morality was used to bring about changes in the organizations. The author point is that
bureaucrats who deal with policies should look to the Supreme Court for guidance on the constitution.

The responsible use of administrative direction is the most fundamental issue for American
bureaucrats. As the author look at how democratic morality is interpreted by the law and used by the
constitution will be explore in his book, To Run a Constitution; The Legitimacy of the Administrative
State. The writer example the impact and the effect of these laws and the organizations relates to the
Constitution. The author feels that the issue of ethics, the moral obligation is something that is owed to
the public. Rohr views the Supreme Court cases that have brought about changes in the laws and the
administrative agencies as combined powers for rule making and investigation as a regime in the
constitution. Some basic functions that are used for administrative law are to enable effective
administration and to promote respect for all people, government or non government. The author feels
that the importance of administrative discretion is to help regulate the policies that have been
implemented by administrative law. The managers that make these policies on behalf of the agency
enjoy a wide range of discretion when participating in an agency s decision making process. The
questions ask, the complaints made, the decisions postponed, the responsibilities avoided. These forms
of behavior are discretionary to help enhance and enliven the administrative process that promotes the

Philosophy Of Free Will
In the blink of an eye, 300 thousand people could die. In the blink of an eye, you could change the
outcome of any event just because you want to. It takes, literally, nanoseconds to completely change
the outcome of any given instance. These choices are so imperative to our lifestyles that overlooking
them would be bringing some injustice to the matter. On a somber note, take into account the events
that transpired on September 11th, 2001. I, like much of the general population, was just a kid when it
happened. But even today, that one particular event rattles my mind because I just couldn t understand
it, I don t think anyone does. Why did this have to happen? Why to them, why to us, why then, why
like that? Although humans wish that their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Facts state that we are biological creatures made up of molecules that adhere to the laws of physics. If
science is as reputable as we make it out to be, then the regularity of those laws determines how every
single molecule in the known universe acts. As a population, humans are merely constructs of one
vital organ, the brain a supercomputer capable of naming itself. And this goes without saying that the
human brain (the organ designated as doing the choosing in our everyday decisions) is made up of
these exact same molecules. Everything humans think, do, or say, must come down to the behavior of
these molecules according to the laws they follows. The concept of free will is based upon an illusion
that people can choose their actions; however that is not the case. Due to the fact that the brain is
composed of chemicals, neurons, and molecules that are subject to the law of physics, an individual s
actions become the result of the chemical and molecular changes within the brain. These changes are
based on the biological makeup of the individual and the environmental factors the individual

My reasoning for using this theory over another would be the architectural system (hardware) refers to
biologically based properties necessary for information processing, such as memory span and speed of
encoding/decoding information (Gregory, 2010,, p.154). Memory span and speed of decoding is very
important when dealing with mathematical work such as how remember our multiplication table,
which some individuals remember by using mnemonic techniques while still others struggle.
According to Gregory (2010), individuals who are able to use the metacognition approach to learning
tend to have higher performance levels than those individuals that do not use the metacognition
approach. Two Other Theories of Intelligence in Comparison Gardner s original Theory of Multiple
Intelligences consists of three components, seven intelligences, and eight supporting criteria of what
comprises an intelligence. The Three Components include: a definition of intelligence, a challenge to
the notion of a general intelligence (g), and a challenge to the conviction that g can be reliably
measured. (Helding,

Essie Lee Expose Franklin
Today, my family and I are mourning the loss of our beloved sister, Essie Lee Expose Franklin. She
was our oldest sister; she was calm, cool, and logical. My father and mother spurned 13 children
together. One child died in early infancy and one brother died in a car crash at the tender age of 21 or
22, shortly after he returned from the Vietnam War.
When Essie finished high school, like so many black Mississippians, She left the state and headed for
California to realize her dream. She was part of an exodus of blacks leaving the South during the early
and mid 19 century to escape the Jim Crow Laws . Essie and her husband, Joseph Franklin, a fellow
Mississippian, worked hard. They did not have expensive higher education degrees that

American Tobacco Advertising History
Throughout American history, tobacco has been a prominent feature in carving the landscape of this
nation s civilization and culture. From Native American medicine to snuff to pipe cigars, tobacco has
permeated the history of the United States in multiple forms. However, no tobacco product has been
more integral to modern American culture than the cigarette a relatively young commodity, in contrast
to its predecessors. The birth of the cigarette was the gateway to modern American advertising and
consumer culture. The cigarette s American journey has been an intensive one, from its beginnings in
the late 1800s as a modest, unpopular offshoot in the Duke Sons. tobacco company to its rise to
cultural acclaim in the mid twentieth century. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

ephemeral to most working class Americans. However, cigarettes brought about a sense of solidarity
(Brandt, 90). No matter how rich or how poor you were, anyone could enjoy a cigarette. The most
wealthy stars smoked the same brands as the most hard hit, poverty stricken men and women. The ad,
The Height of Good Taste, likely exploited this oneness. The beautiful woman depicted was not just
targeting fashion forward women. It was also directed towards the desire of the most depressed

Social Motivation Of Social Ministry
Introduction Many churches have moved beyond the atonement only gospel to become socially
involved in their community in providing ministries such as, relief services, personal development
services and community development services. This strategy, of social involvement by the church has
been welcomed by many and has increased positive perception of the church and by extension
amplified the impact of the church. But, what is the motivation behind these social involvements of
the church. Is it something that they do in order to be more effective and relevant in sharing the
gospel? Or is it something they do because it is genetically linked to their faith? In this paper, the
writer will argue that in principle, social ministry should not be done as a means to make the church
relevant. That is, the motivation behind church based social interventions should not be solely based
on being relevant in order to be more effective in carrying out its mission, which is to make disciples.
The writer proposes that social ministry ought to be a natural outworking of the church. As such, a
church cannot be considered authentic if it is not involved in social ministry. Self benefit Motivation If
the church is motivated to be socially involved because of the need to make the ministry of church
relevant, in order to be more effective in carrying out its mission, then the focus is not on the need of
the person or community but, rather it is on the church achieving its missional goal. In this

carriers (Federal Express, UPS, and Airborne Express) serve slightly more than 85% of the domestic
express mail market. All three carriers deliver a high volume of packages, and thus, are able to spread
fixed costs over more units. Also, each carrier has integrated technological systems that improved
operational efficiency. In addition, intensive training programs of employees increase service and
delivery efficiency. b) Extremely large capital requirements are necessary to enter the market. Hub

However, such avenues of delivery limit the customer s presentation options (cannot bind business
reports / deliverables ). Also, the customer cannot transport a non paper package (e.g. a book, a desk)
via this delivery system. b) Regular mail only cost 32 cents for letters. The post office is also very
convenient. However, in regards to packages, the post office is very poor in quality service and
efficiency (cannot track packages efficiently and has an on time delivery record much worse than
commercial carriers) 3. Bargaining Power of Suppliers Medium for the following reasons: a) Postal
materials numerous suppliers of necessary postal and packaging materials. Switching costs are not
high. The postal materials suppliers have low bargaining power. b) Software programs combined with
extensive customized programming updates / additions. The software and software customization
industries both have numerous suppliers. However, given the complexity and uniqueness of such an
information network, there are probably only a limited number of software and customization
companies that can provide a carrier with a high quality system that is capable of smoothly integrating
all the operation and customer service divisions. Furthermore, the switching costs have the potential to
be extremely high because such a transfer could disrupt communication between the divisions, leading
to poor quality service. In addition, the company would

Henry Ford s Automobile And It s Effects On American...
Henry Ford s Automobile It s Effects on American Society
Over the course of the 20th century, the automobile has gone from being an expensive toy of the rich,
to being the standard for passenger transport in most developed countries around the world (Urry).
Not unlike the effects of the introduction of Railways into society, automobiles have changed social
interactions, employment patterns, goods distribution and the basic face of urban society. The
automobile itself is a rather controversial issue. Supporters of the automobile claim that it is a marvel
of technology that has brought about prosperity, while opponents aver it leads to urban planning that

Ford believed that by paying people more, he would enable Ford employees to afford the cars they
were producing and be good for the economy. This new wage plan was offered to men over the age of
22 who had worked for Ford for at least 6 months, and whose lifestyles were approved by Ford s
Sociological Department (150 investigators and support staff who maintained employee standards ).
Another defining characteristic of Ford Motor Company is Henry Ford s adamant opposition to labor
unions. Ford Motor Company was the last Detroit automobile company to sign a contract with the
United Auto Workers union, having done so in June of 1941.
In more recent years, the Ford Motor Company has encountered some resistance from
environmentalists. Ford motor co. ranked 7th as one of the top corporate air polluters in the United
States releasing 9.67 million pounds of toxic air in 2002 (PERI). In an attempt to appease the criticism
received due to their environmental standing by announcing a plan in 2000 to improve the average
gasoline mileage of a line of its trucks by twenty five percent by 2005. This goal was never met; Ford
announced that competitive market conditions and technological and cost challenges would prevent
the company from achieving this

Crime Is Everywhere In America
Crime is everywhere in America. Different places react in different ways to the same ideas. The
question being asked is, Are certain policies and procedures effective and/or ineffective and why? In
my opinion, crime prevention is measured not by methods and intentions, but by the outcome of the
procedure/policy. Honestly, no matter how brilliant the policy or procedure may be, the result will not
be the same in one place than it is in another. For example, training police in community policing may
not directly reduce crime in the community. In order to learn whether certain policies or procedures
can reduce violent crime in different places, strong programs should help out. In other words, strong
programs with rank should address multiple

  • 4. I Am Mallala By Malala Yousafzai I AM Malala I Am Malala by Malala Yousafzai is a story that shows how a young Muslim girl stood up for education and changed the world. When Malala Yousafzai was ten years old, the first female prime minister of Pakistan, Benazir Bhutto, was shot dead. Young Malala had witnessed this act of terrorism on tv, and from that day forward, she promised herself that she would continue the fight for peace and democracy in Pakistan. Malala went on to be interviewed by her local TV stations and newspapers. During these interviews, Malala would speak on the topic of education for all. At age 13, Malala s school was invited to take part in the District Child Assembly swat. Malala was elected speaker of this group. Together the group passed nine resolutions such as rebuilding schools destroyed by the Taliban. Malala remained as calm as a summer sea and never took revenge on her attackers. Malala was a powerful young girl. To begin with, Malala Yousafzai was a young Muslim girl who believed strongly that everybody should be educated. During her young life, Malala had to live with death threats and being shot in the head. Throughout all of her suffering, Malala never complained. During her school days, Malala realised that people who were often called upon during class were those in the front row. After noticing this Malala came up with the idea to rotate seats each week to make sure that everyone had a fair chance to be educated. With the rotation routine everybody ... • 5. Summary Of My Papa s Waltz The Waltz in a Ballroom of my Memory A waltz is a beautiful dance done between two partners in 3 4ths time; a magical dance done rhythmically around a ballroom. Cinderella and her prince did it; Belle and the Beast did it. Now we see that Theodore Roethke and his father have done it. While the subject of My Papa s Waltz has spurred passionate academic debates from professors, scholars, and students alike, the imagery, syntax, and diction of the poem clearly supports the interpretation that Theodore Roethke wrote My Papa s Waltz as a reflection on the short childhood memories he had with his father. Indeed, the theory that the author s father was abusive, is agreeable to a point, I cannot accept the overall conclusion that the whole poem was written as a reflection on the author s abuse from his father. The hand that held my wrist[, w]as battered on one knuckle, Roethke states in stanza 3. Though one can see how the two lines can be taken as if the father was firmly grasping the child s wrist, while at the same time, others see it as a father gently holding ... Although many can argue that this poem is entirely based on the abuse his father brought upon Roethke, Many others believe that this poem is a reflection of his childhood memories, which the author remembers fondly. Not only had Roethke s father died when he was a teenager, but his uncle, to which he was very close to, committed suicide. Considering he was surrounded by a dense cloud of death, It is obvious that the poem is about fond memories Roethke remembers about his father many years ago. Roethke didn t have the best relationship with his father, there were some ups and downs, to which we can all relate to. People who engage in computer hacking activities are often called hackers. If you are interested in protecting your home computer against malicious hackers, investing in a good firewall is highly recommended. It s also a good idea to check your software programs for updates on a regular basis. For example, Microsoft offers a number of free security patches for its Internet Explorer browser. Issues A number of issues arise in considering hacking from the educator perspective. First, we need to consider the fact that the public perception of hackers is mixed, and that hacking and being considered a hacker can be quite appealing to students who are going through developmental periods in which they are defining themselves, as well as challenging authority and rules. There is often a Robin Hood mentality to early actions, though it is unclear exactly who the poor are, and how they are beingcompensated . Second, the anonymity of actions which hackers perform against others often enhances the severity of actions. For example, an adolescent who would never consider picking someone s pocket or physically damaging someone else s property or home, might be quite willing to steal people s credit card numbers or destroy poorly protected business or government files, since files and credit card numbers are not tangible entities, and the damage is done anonymously. • 8. Hybrid Types Of Hybrid Electric Vehicles Full Hybrid Transmission System 1 FULL HYBRID DESCRIPTION Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV) differentiates from basic electric vehicles (EV) through their use of two power sources. The purpose of having two power sources is to utilize the properties of both the electric component and combustion engine to create a vehicle that s more efficient and less environmentally damaging. Different types of hybrid systems utilise different properties of the power sources through compromise, allowing better performance for the vehicles specifications. Full Hybrids, considered the most fuel efficient, can automatically swap between series, parallel and full electric modes (further explained below) allowing the vehicle to run at full utilization and economy through different uses, such as in traffic, highway driving and racing. Examples of full hybrid vehicles include that of the Toyota Prius and many of Toyota s Synergy Drive Hybrid range. Series powertrains refer to using an electric motor to rotate the wheels, whilst the alternate power source drives an on board generator which essentially increases the reliability of the electric motor without directly powering the wheels. Unlike series mode, in parallel mode both power sources are used to provide power to the wheels. This can be configured in a wide variety of ways by alternating the use of full electric or full combustions, or having different wheels powered by different sources, i.e. front wheels electric drive and back wheels ... This academic curriculum students grades are based on gives them, a lot of leg room to improve their grades. On the other hand, students turn in minimal work, hoping to be given an A. Therefore, the average grade in the United States, has gone up due to the lack of effort students are putting into their work, which is called a grade inflation. Students who attended colleges and universities around the mid 1900 s, used to study and learn more than the students in the 21st century. Due to the fact that during that time period, educators taught their students to learn the subject for the long run rather than to only study for the upcoming exam. Currently, the institutions curriculum has been dumbed, the reason to that is some educators are trying to benefit the institution and some students are not putting effort into the course. According to Minnesota State University The period from 1955 to 1965 has been described as a period of grade deflation. The average grade and GPA remained static even though the student body possessed higher and higher SAT and ACT scores. During this period, grading did not rise to reward the better qualified students . (N.P.) My definition for love is all of earth s surroundings that make one feel good or happy; to me, love is not just love towards another, but it is also love towards something beyond. Everyone knows that love is a beautiful thing to experience: it feels like all the happiness in the world is in your hands and you could never be happier. But what happens, coming from a woman s perspective, when your husband uses that love as a weapon against you? What if he raised his hands against his woman, bruising his hands so that they started to swell up? Well, that is the case in many women s lives around ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She sees that he has a well paying job that keeps a roof over their heads and food in their stomachs, or, that they have kids together. The only reason she lives with her hopeless plight is because she wants her children to grow up with a father figure still in their lives. Author Rabbi Julius Gordon once said, Love is not blind, it sees more, not less. But because it sees more, it is willing to see less. But doesn t love if it wants to see less, cause itself to be blind? In my opinion, it does. Because her love overlooks all the wrong he s doing, it is choosing to be blind. But is not love supposed to be beautiful? Is not love supposed to make someone happy? If so, why are so many women pulling back from getting help and from doing something about their situations as victims? Many of these unfortunate women know what the outcome would be if they tried to do something about their situations. For a battered woman, because she knows what will happen, she chooses to turn away from seeking help. Women in situations like these are neglecting to see the truth. Love is blind if the person in love is refusing to see the things that are going wrong or hurting the relationship. In the Holy Bible, 1 Corinthians, Chapter 13 verse 6, states, It (love) does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. • 12. The Campaign, A Good And Positive Light Identity As we created this campaign, we developed several themes, symbols, motives and values in order to bring the project together and ensure the audience would receive it favorably, or in a beneficial and positive light. In the campaign, there are two primary themes, the first of which is recognition. In general, KULT is an unknown and ambiguous organization that needs to build a brand or an image for itself among students. The second theme of the campaign is unity. KULT wants to be seen as an organization that offers specific services and content to students who listen to the station or work for it. The goal of the campaign, then, is to provide a unified message to the audience showing exactly what KULT is, what it can do for students, and what it means to be involved. The message will unify the student body by presenting these facts, creating a sense of understanding and interest in the station. These two themes are carried out in several ways. Our motive is to bring students together in recognizing and understanding KULT so they can not only enjoy it, but take advantage of it. Our values are focused around those of KULT: offering something new and fun to benefit the panther community in whatever ways they can and building a community in the station. We bring these elements together with a symbol: a new logo for KULT. By tying these elements together and promoting them through the message and new logo, people will have a better understanding of KULT and its ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. Sunni Vs Shiites Essay Shiites vs Sunnis Jihaad Barnett Georgia Military College Losing a leader can be very chaotic when they retire or pass on. Questions occur about the next leader, arguments begin, and relationships divide. Islam is a prime example of these events when the founder of the religion, Muhammad, passed on and left the Muslims without a leader. Thus started the separation of Islam into the factions the Shiites and Sunnis because of a disagreement of who will succeed Muhammad as his predecessor. Before the discussion of the difference of the Shiites and Sunnis and why they split into these groups, it s important to understand who exactly is Muhammad and why he is so important to Islam. To begin with, Islam was started by Muhammad when he was visited by the archangel Gabriel, where the archangel sent a message to Muhammad from Allah. Muhammad had the remarkable ... While in Medina, Muhammad gained more followers and established an army that he led against Mecca. This battle began with raiding each other s camps, or ghawz, until Muhammad s forces outnumbered the Meccans, defeating them in 624. Afterwards, Muhammad rose in power in Mecca as leader and converted most of the citizens into Muslims. As the leader of Mecca, Muhammad was aided by tribes of Bedouin against Meccans who had not converted and Arab tribes until 630, when Mecca surrendered to Muhammad thus many Meccans converted. The North of both countries followed into communist ways while the South of both countries remained non communist. This map shows he similarities in how the Cold War split the country apart. The Vietnam War happened in 1954 because the South were not communist and the North were communist which was the same situation in Korea. The US sent troops to Vietnam to assist the South because they too, hated communism. The North Vietnamese utilized secret tunnels and traps to fight against the south. The War ended in 1973 when both sides split and still are split today just like Korea. (Document 6) Communism played a part in India foreign policy in 1956. The United Kingdom always had control of India until 1947 when they broke apart. During this time India decided to pass a foreign policy that stated that India would not be able to align with any major powers which was unusual because India had close military ties with the Soviet Union, a major power. Although in the end the policy was not in affect because they broke apart with the Soviet Union, India hoped to create powerful ties with the US and Europe. In 1956 India s foreign policy was that they did not want to interfere with any major powers. They did not want to interfere or align them self to any powers like the US or Soviets even thought they looked to the Soviets for military help and sought to created ties with the US. Major Issues Confronting FPL in 1994 In spite of a favorable position rating, FPL cannot ignore the deregulation movements threatening their current business landscape. The most important issues facing FPL in May 1994 are potential competition resulting from industry deregulation and their high payout ratio. 1) Retail Wheeling The threat of retail wheeling within FPL s market forces management to consider whether or not they can maintain high payout ratios. Retail wheeling is reshaping the utilities industry and if enacted in Florida, it will bring grave challenges to the future of FPL. 2) Low Capacity Margin FPL must prepare for increased competition from the establishment of retail wheeling and other forms of distribution deregulation. FPL is an old firm which is running at roughly 92% capacity. Their low capacity margin (8.6%) suggests that they have less room for growth compared to their competitors. FPL must work to foster growth in order to survive in an evolving industry. 3) Transmission Power Costs FPL carries a transmission cost of nearly double the industry average. • 16. The Time Period Of The Cold War The time period of the Cold War was a breeding ground for ideological change. It was an era filled with fear and paranoia, not simply of the unknown, but of neighbours, friends, and family. World War II, the atomic bomb, the Cold War, made it hard for Americans to continue their optimism historian Stephen Ambrose commented. This paradigm shift is evident in the texts from the era, and by studying them we come to understand the values and atmosphere of the time and the effect those values had on the texts. The Cold War began after the end of World War II, after the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki by the United States of America; that continued until the early 90s with the dissolving of the Soviet Union. The two sides of the Cold War were the Western Bloc and Eastern Bloc, which are terms given to the alliances formed by the USA and NATO; and the USSR and the Warsaw Pact respectively. Named for its lack of major conflict or bloodshed between its two super powers, the USA and USSR, despite the wars that occurred that those super powers supported, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. After the bombing and subsequent end of WW II, the world was reeling from the unprecedented destruction it caused as well as the implications and effects it would have on not only war but society itself. During this time both a nuclear arms race and the space race occurred. Primarily the Cold War was a power struggle between the USA and USSR, and their conflicting ideals of capitalism ... Social Motivation Of Social Ministry Introduction Many churches have moved beyond the atonement only gospel to become socially involved in their community in providing ministries such as, relief services, personal development services and community development services. This strategy, of social involvement by the church has been welcomed by many and has increased positive perception of the church and by extension amplified the impact of the church. But, what is the motivation behind these social involvements of the church. Is it something that they do in order to be more effective and relevant in sharing the gospel? Or is it something they do because it is genetically linked to their faith? In this paper, the writer will argue that in principle, social ministry should not be done as a means to make the church relevant. That is, the motivation behind church based social interventions should not be solely based on being relevant in order to be more effective in carrying out its mission, which is to make disciples. The writer proposes that social ministry ought to be a natural outworking of the church. As such, a church cannot be considered authentic if it is not involved in social ministry. Self benefit Motivation If the church is motivated to be socially involved because of the need to make the ministry of church relevant, in order to be more effective in carrying out its mission, then the focus is not on the need of the person or community but, rather it is on the church achieving its missional goal.
