The Controversy About Feminism
In the minds of many, feminism is confused with misandry, the belief that women should be more
powerful than men; however, this could not be further from the truth. Feminism is women, men, and
nonbinaries taking a stand, together, for equality. Fighting for unshaved female legs, fighting for late
night walks through the park completely alone, and completely safe. Fighting for higher rates of self
esteem and complete acceptance without judgment. Feminism tells males that it is okay to cry and
show emotion. Feminism teaches the world that we are all the same, that we should strive for a better
world for all. Feminism is the fight for equal rights and equal treatment in all areas of society,
regardless of gender or sexual identity.

Hospitality in the Qu ran
Ideas on Cultural Hospitality in the Quran The virtues within the Qur an regarding hospitality and
generosity seem to be a product of the landscape of pre Islamic Arabia. Indeed, the arid environment
and tribal configuration of the society required that neighbors help each other, strangers or travelers be
given food, and wealth be distributed evenly throughout the clan. The communities that settled along
the trade routes of the Arabian Peninsula relied on merchants returning to their community to trade
goods. One way to ensure this was to make the merchant feel welcome and become a temporary part
of the household. Another way to guarantee their return would be ensuring the merchant survived the
harsh climate of the desert, so ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If a follower gives, generously, and without selfish reasons, then God will provide for all of their
needs, just as they have provided for others. The text goes on to express that even speech full of
kindness and true appreciation is better than the act of charity that hurts (Qur an 2:263). Again this
broad support for kind speech and generous giving is used as a lens through which the stories of
hospitality can be viewed. The Qur an shows the importance of hospitality in two intertwined stories,
and while the passages that dictate kindness, generosity and manners number well over twenty, the
impact of these two hospitality accounts is memorable and complex. The stories actually involve two
patriarchs from Israelite text, who play major roles in Qur anic teachings. The first is in surah 11:69 70
and involves Abraham s interaction with three strangers who turn out to be angels who have come to
warn him about punishment of Sodom. They also bring news of Sarah s future conception and relate
the story of their visit with Lot in Sodom. His first reaction to their arrival is to prepare a fatted calf,
an action that frames the generosity of hospitality in a way that promotes giving the best of what you
have to your guests. This act by Abraham is recounted in surah 51:24 37, The Dispersing, which
clarifies that the visitors were honored guests and the proper greeting of Peace

Demographics Paper
DEMOGRAPHICS Demographics in the true essence of the word means the records of the human
population in a country. This includes the country s population density, ethnicity, education level,
health, economic status, religious affiliations, and other aspects of the said population. In some
commonly used demographics gender, race, age, income, disabilities, educational attainment, home
ownership, employment status, and even location are also included. Also called demographic data,
these are the characteristics of a human population as used in government, marketing and opinion
research.

China, for one adopted this policy in order to curb population growth. We all know that China has the
highest population in the world, encompassing 1.2 billion or twenty one percent of the world s
population. They know too well that if this would continue to grow, they will be having serious social
and economic problems. As a solution, in the year 1979, Chinese authorities create a one child per
family policy and because male children are often regarded as more economically valuable, female
infanticides increase. Infanticides are often regarded to as an inhumane act especially to us Christians
however in primitive people; this thing is not new to them. Many Asian and European countries
engaged in this act to prevent the population growth in their nations.
Because of the ONE CHILD POLICY, China was able to control its population. They are considered
to have the highest population rate not just in Asia but in the whole world and so this policy is more or
less favorable to them. This policy was said to have been the reason why they were saved from famine
and other economic disability. However, in smaller countries like Japan, this policy was effective
during the first years of implementation but later on become a hindrance in the progress of their
country. Japan, just like China adopted this policy to prevent the growth of their population. Now,
however they feel sorry that they had implemented this policy because now, they have the what you

Trusts
If trust does not meet test of certainty it will fail/be void
If trust to be valid must meet three certainties: (Knight v Knight)
Certainty of intention
Certainty of subject matter
Certainty of objects/beneficiaries
Fundamental principle: the trust must be capable of being controlled + enforced
There must be sufficient practical certainty in [the trust s] definition for it to be carried out, if
necessary with the administrative assistance of the court, according to the expressed intention of the
settlor (Lord Wilberforce in McPhail v Doulton (1970))
There is a trust instrument, intentions of settler must be sufficiently certain to carry out the trust,
otherwise trustee s or court would not know what to do. Sometimes can be some ... Show more

Q was whether was certainty of subject matter as problem was whether shares were identified they are
identifiable as each share has a number. Courts said was a valid trust regardless of fact that M did not
state which shares were on hold for H.
Pearson v Lehman Brothers (2010): adopted same principle.
A beneficiary s interest in a certain part of the trust property in older cases judges were more strict:
Boyce v Boyce (1849): testatrix left 4 houses on trust. Trust said one trust to go to Maria other 3 to
charlotte. Trust said Maria to choose which one she wanted. Maria died before the testator + trust
came into effect + court said M no longer alive so cannot est. which houses C entitled to as under the
trust she has what is left after M picks, but she died so trust VOID.
Modern approach = more willing to uphold trust: Re Golay s WT (1965): testator left one flat +
reasonable income from his estate courts held not absolutely certain as not state what flat + what
income, but said not so uncertain that cannot est. which should go to whom.
Certainty of Objects
= Broadly include certainty of beneficiaries + power of objects
What is meant by certainty in this context?
Conceptual or semantic certainty = certainty in the meaning of the expression of wording used in trust
instrument. Is the meaning precise in the class that they define?

Social Justice And Inclusion Within The Scottish Education...
The first part of this paper explores the concepts of social justice and inclusion within the Scottish
Education System. Both of which are complex theories and ultimately influence each other. What is
Social Justice? What is inclusion? How are they related? What does it mean to have an inclusive
environment for students? How do we achieve this in schools? Does society play a part in how
inclusion is introduced and maintained? These are just some of the questions that I endeavor to
explore. Consistently throughout the PGDE course we are studying how to become a more inclusive
practitioner whether it is through campus based learning, additional readings or teaching experience in
local schools. We continuously strive towards learning how to make school a more inclusive
environment. This assignment exemplified with references to reading such as Government policies,
legislation and research articles as well as reflecting on my own teaching experience I hope to
highlight the teachers role in creating an inclusive environment within an individual classroom.
Having studied selective literature with theories and research, which could have influenced Scottish
Education Policies, I draw attention to discrepancies on matters of inclusion and social justice that
exist between them and the implications they have for learning. In part 2, I will provide a critical
reflection on my own teaching practice during recent placement by making detailed connections to an
appended lesson plan.

The Role of Men in D.H. Lawrence s Virgin and the Gypsy...
The Role of Men in D.H. Lawrence s Virgin and the Gypsy
The role of the male characters in The Virgin and the Gypsy by D.H. Lawrence can best be summed
up by Yvette s reaction to her sister s philosophy of marriage:
I m not sure one shouldn t have one s fling till one is twenty six , and then give in and marry!
This was Lucille s philosophy, learned from older women. Yvette was twenty one. It meant she had
five years to have this precious fling. And the fling meant, at the moment, the gypsy. The marriage, at
the age of twenty six, meant Leo or Gerry.
So, a woman could eat her cake and have her bread and butter (Lawrence, 99).
All of the male characters fall into one of three categories: bread and butter, cake or ... Show more

It is interesting that these are the only glimpses of the world through male eyes that we are allowed in
this book. It is also interesting that all three of these glimpses into the male mind are related in terms
of animals.
Bob expresses the feeling of being a stuffed duck while visiting with Mater. Leo expresses a dog like
interest in Yvette: Catty little bitch! he said to himself. But he was of the mastiff type, he rather liked
the kitten to fly in his face (Lawrence 64). Her father would never dare to face the fat worm of
disbelief, that stirred in his heart (Lawrence 38).
These animal metaphors keep men and women separate, almost in the same way that class keeps
Yvette separate from the servants. As long as she is a virgin, with her power being her vulnerability,
she is unable to quite see men as human. That s not unusual, though, since they seem to have trouble
identifying themselves as human.
The relationship of Yvette s grandmother, the Mater, and the Rector, her son, give Yvette a model for
feminine power. It is a negative power, a power through vulnerability. And through the weakness of
the unfresh, stagnant men she had bred, she kept her power (Lawrence 7).
Mater, through age, has transformed herself back into a virgin. She wields power in the family through
her very vulnerability. Mater s

Childhood Observation Report
The day is Thursday, March 16. I am at the Child Discovery Center, observing Josiah, age 8. Josiah is
part of the after school program, in room 1. The observation takes place outside, on the school s
playground. The time is 4:30 pm. Josiah starts to play a game of leprechaun tag , and he is it. He
begins to run after two other girls, his arms are lifted at his sides as he pumps them back and forth, and
he is running at a moderate pace. He is not as fast as the other children playing. While he is chasing
the girls, he comes up to a small wall. He extends his right foot, landing it on the wall, then pushing
off in one swift motion. He continues to run after the girls for a few minutes, chasing them around the

According to the book, children at Josiah s age should have mastered agility, balance, coordination,
power, reaction time and speed. I don t think Josiah showed any real problem area that is concerning. I
do think that he can improve more on his gross motor development, since there s always room from
growth, and I think involving him in some different gross motor activities will help him improve even
more. The book also states that children at this age should have smooth and controlled movements.
Josiah s movements were all smooth, there wasn t a time where he struggled to do something. He is
able to smoothly and effectively perform actions with ease. Josiah will benefit from some gross motor
activities to help him master all these skills. These activities include:
Involving Josiah in a sport like soccer. A sport can help him greatly improve his gross motor skills,

Ghazan Khan Research Paper
When Mahmud Ghazan, the seventh ruler of the Mongol Empire s Ilkhanate division, came to power
after his father Arghun, the economic state of Iran was deteriorating, the value of currency was
decreasing and there was not enough wealth available for the government to rule over the country. In
order to resolve this matter, Ghazan Khan reformed many elements of the Ilkhanate such as defining
Islam as the state religion, land grants, standardizing currency and fiscal policy. This paper is an
attempt to analyze the reforms of the Ilkhanid ruler Ghazan Khan and assess their effectiveness.
Arghun was a fanatic Buddhist and because of his interest in this religion, Buddhism got a chance to
spread all around Iran and allowed buddhists to gain power. Although Ghazan was baptized and raised
as a Christian, he was being trained by a buddhist monk who introduced him to buddhism and made
him choose this religion. However, once Ghazan became the sovereign, he converted into Islam under
the influence of Amir Nawruz, chose the Arabic name of Mahmud and changed the state religion into
Islam. Some of Ghazan s acts and reforms had a definite Muslim motive behind ... Show more content

Net Neutrality, or the Separation Between Internet Service...
Scott Cleland from Net Competition said that net neutrality legislations mean less privacy for all
Americans, as Net neutrality would require more government monitoring and surveillance of Internet
traffic (qtd. from Net Neutrality ). But what is he talking about anyway? Net neutrality, or the
separation between internet service providers (ISP s) and the content being retrieved through their
networks, is an extremely hot topic nowadays. The ideals of net neutrality can be compared to the way
you would use electricity in your home. You do not pay your power company a toaster fee just so you
can plug in your toaster, or a light bulb fee just so you can turn on your lights (Gordon; Ammori).
Similarly, net neutrality states that ISP s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

procedures to protect the confidentiality, security, and integrity of personal information the operator

connections, those connections will stay confidential and secure. There will be no loss of privacy,
despite Cleland s conclusion of the opposite. Another consideration that should be made is our right to
free speech. Larry Pratt, director of Gun Owners of America, said that the Brady Campaign (an anti
gun violence group) and Gun Owners of America should have the same fair use of the internet
highway , and that if we want to buy 100 units of internet broadband capability, that should be the
same price to us as somebody else... [we should] be able to get our message out regardless of what

beliefs of Gun Owners of America, they could discriminate against the group by slowing down the

Rabbit has run away from Janice, He has abandoned his family and taken refuge with Ruth. Rabbit

The Evil Character Of Odysseus In Homer s Odyssey

Odysseus had to suffer because he took his sons eye out and Alcinous wanted to marry his wife

Postnatal Pb Assessment
In scientific literature it is critical to avoid generalizations and leaving gaps in place of supported
information or clarification. Most of these issues occurred due to assumptions regarding the reader s
academic level or knowledge on the topic. For example: Boucher et al. (2014) made an argument
about the cause and effect of contaminates on Indigenous health proclaiming other studies have
extensive evidence of long term effects from postnatal Pb exposure , without describing the particular
evidence available. Leaving arguments without the supported evidence or procedure used to come to
that conclusion is equivalent to omitting the statement all together, as there is no evidence actually
provided. Boucher et al. (2014) also claimed that most of the evidence of cognitive impairment
associated with prenatal Pb exposure comes from global developmental assessments . In addition to
excluding the actual evidence, the study uses a universal assessment to evaluate a culturally specific
nation. Nunavik infants and children s overall cognition and intelligence were assessed using a
westernized system completely different from their current ancestral knowledge foundation. Efforts
were made to correct differences and forms of misrepresentation in the data by administering tests in

Race, Gender, and Ethnicity in American Law
The Virginia Military Institute was a higher education school in Virginia. It claimed to train the leaders
of the future, or citizen soldiers and impart to its students great discipline; however, it only enrolled
male students. In 1996, the United States government sued the state of Virginia and the Virginia
Military Institute for its male only policy as a violation of the Fourteenth amendment s Equal
Protection Clause. The District Court ruled in the school s favor. The Fourth Circuit demanded
Virginia to reverse this constitutional violation (Van Camp). In response to this complaint, Virginia
proposed a similar program for women: the Virginia Women s Institute for Leadership. The District
Court found that this plan satisfied the equal protection requirement, and the Fourth Circuit affirmed
that although these two institutions would differ in prestige (and the historical benefit), they would
still offer essentially similar educational opportunities. The United States then appealed to the
Supreme Court, and it raised the issue whether this new women s only academy satisfied the
Fourteenth Amendment s Equal Protection Clause. The Supreme court ruled, in a 7 to 1 decision, that
Virginia Military Institute s male only policy was unconstitutional. In order to not violate the Equal
Protection clause of the amendment, VMI must make its program available to women as well. VMI

Speech On The Role Of A King
The role of a king is to be Kingly. In doing such he must be influential and have personal integrity, be
calm and balanced, be able to protect and maintain order, be hard working and energetic, bless and
acknowledging the efforts of other people, to teach and deliver his wisdom, to show no fear in the face
of adversity, and to be well spoken and deliver speeches. Being well spoken has many different
meanings to different cultures around the world, but as a king... one must be able to articulate words,
have passion and purpose, have a good personality, be creative, have an expressive voice, and a sense
of humor, have a decent wardrobe, and be a good story teller. Just having good posture isn t enough.
When addressing the nation a king has a job of energizing his audience by any means necessary to
help in the delivery of their message. Their main goal is to produce something special for their
audience, or rather their peoples . Convincing them that what they have to say is more important than
anything they ve heard and that it is different than all the rest of his predecessors. Kings create their
own distinctive view of reality for an immense and diverse listening, and sometimes viewing,
audience. In almost every situation a king speaks to the world. However; most of the time posture or
facial expression were not even of importance to royalty in this era because they delivered speeches
over radio waves. Memorization was not of importance in this situation either because no

Nationalism Source Assimilation Eric Cope Analysis
Nationalism Source Interpretation Eric Cope
The author of source I is stating the thought that if you accomplish something and no one knows about
it it will be forgotten completely. Stories, songs, etc leave behind a legacy. An entity to remember
something that has passed. The same goes for nations, before the writing and the internet the only way
to pass on a record was with a story. If no one was told about the occurrence it would fade off into
nothingness. Whereas if told with a story even after you passed you could be remembered, leaving
behind a legacy. The tales we weave and share connect us as a people allowing things about us to live
longer than we do. This is heavily true when it comes to nations, many of their stories are known all
throughout the people. Such as Canada and Terry Fox. Terry passed in 1981 but is cause still lives on,
masses of Canadians know who Terry is and what he accomplished. Allowing his legacy to echo far
after he passed. He has become a symbol of Canada and it s nationalism. The author is saying that if
no one told each other about Terry his legacy would have faded to unimportance.

The Pros And Cons Of RFK Stadiums
With the NFL officially coming back to Los Angeles next season, the league and two teams are
certainly excited over the developments. Unfortunately, the fate of three teams hung in the balance
with this move. For the once again L.A. Rams, their future in the Golden State is secure. But for the
San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders, some details still remain in the air. If the dust settles as
expected, the Chargers will join the Rams in the dual stadium at the conclusion of the 2016 2017
season. However, if the tide turns the Raiders could find themselves moving from the Bay Area. If
Oakland does lose its football team, the biggest winner could end up being the Oakland A s. The
reason is because Oakland is the last of America s former infatuation with multi purpose stadiums.
Starting with Washington D.C. s RFK Stadium through countless other cities and purposes, dual sports
stadiums dominated the 60s and 70s. As decades moved along, though, the trend began to die as each
sport needed its own kind of stadium to adequately hold its events. In time, teams moved on to their
own stadiums. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 2014, the A s wisely renewed its lease for the next ten years despite being frustrated with the

the county. If the Raiders somehow have a change in fate, the A s could be the last team left in town

Clockwork Orange
Clockwork Orange critique
Clockwork orange is a book that talks about a young man named Alex and his gang that just go around
committing one crime after the other in their community. Alex later on in the story got set up by his
gang members and got arrested for all the crimes that he committed including killing people. Alex was
then sentenced to fourteen years in prison and during his time in prison; Alex got recruited for an
experiment that the government is working on to be the first prisoner to take part in this experiment.
At the end of it all, Alex went through the experiment and just like everything else has side effects,
Alex went through the experiment s effect with the consequences of the actions that send him there in
the first place.
Apart from the language being hard to understand, clockwork orange is a very interesting book. I
honestly didn t know what to expect when before I started reading this book. But by reading this book,
it had me asking a lot of questions as such what was the government thinking putting Alex through
that experiment, and why do they want to change someone who did not ask for their help to change at
the first place. I also wanted to know why they didn t assign a supervisor for Alex to overview his
progress to see the good and the bad side effects of what they ... Show more content on

Buck And White Fang Research Paper
Buck and White Fang:
Similarities and Differences
Dogs have a way of finding the people who need them and filling a space we didn t even know we
had. ―Thom Jones. This quote almost perfectly fits Buck from The Call of the Wild and White Fang
from White Fang , both written by Jack London. Buck and White Fang are both alike and different
throughout their stories.
At the beginning of their stories, Buck and White Fang are both alike and different. First, both dogs
are mixed breeds. For example, Buck is half Saint Bernard and half Scottish Sheppard while White
Fang is half husky and half wolf. Since both dogs are half one breed and half the other, this is a
similarity. Second, they are both big and strong with high intelligence and ... Show more content on

First, Buck and White Fang are both sold to cruel masters who both mistreat them. For example, Hal,
Mercedes, and Charles become Buck s new masters and Hal nearly beats Buck to death with a club
while Beauty Smith constantly taunts White Fang to keep fighting, even though he is being killed by
the British bulldog. Since both masters are mean to their dogs, this is a similarity. Second, Buck and
White Fang both help their masters make a lot of money. For instance, Buck saves John Thornton for
drowning, then he wins John Thornton $1,600 by pulling a 1,000 pound sled for 100 feet while White
Fang saves Jack Conroy when his gold mine caves in and helps him strike rich when his paws reveal
gold dust from a vein of gold. Since both dogs help their owns get rich, this is a similarity. Last, Buck
and White Fang live their lives out differently. For example, Buck becomes a leader of a wild wolf
pack and the legendary Ghost Dog while White Fang returns to Jack Conroy after he sets White Fang
but White Fang returns to Jack and becomes his domesticated companion. Since Buck and White Fang
live their lives out differently, this is a difference between the two. In conclusion, Buck and White

The Tempest And Of Cannibals
4 Differing Reading on The Tempest
Simply looking at the text in isolation The Tempest is a complex mixture of a comedy, a tragedy and a
romance. Although it was originally categorised as a comedy, it is more modernly thought of as a
romance. It has the classical element of a comedy, with clownish characters, odd occurrences and
resolution; it also has some very dominating Romantic features. The story, although ultimately about
revenge, is also a story of naïve love and forgiveness. It tells of chivalry, the supernatural as well as
exotic, unknown location by the sea, all drawn from traditional romance. By looking beyond the text
itself, the decision on it elusive genre can be decided by perspective.

This idea then ties into Montaigne s Of Cannibals , an essay that questions the idea that society
dictates if someone is different, you are therefore superior. Many and the 19th century exposed groups
of savage people s simplistic lifestyle. The character of Caliban especially seems to create contrasting
views on people in their natural state. Although Shakespeare s The Tempest and Of Cannibals sharply
contrast, and Caliban often disproves Montaigne theories, they also draw so similarities, linking both
texts through the character Caliban. Although Caliban s character is often shown in a negative way, he
also had several speeches that give the audience an idea of his perception and humanity, which isn t as
savage as first perceived. He represents a stereotype and image many had of these savages in faraway
lands, influence by books or others stories. Both texts beg the question of what has changed, what we
have learned, and what we perceive as savagery; is it a simplistic lifestyle, or the colonising of other
land though force and power.
Colonialism is the discovery and control of new lands, and was a big issue around Shakespeare s time.
Through colonization, Europe dominated and imposed on native, which is what Prospero did to

discussed and widely analyzed among the world. The sharply increasing amount of homosexuals and
the heated argument raised by people has drawn more and more eyes. This paper is centered on
homosexual culture especially in America and China.

Hot issues about homosexual culture
Homosexuality is a unique cultural behavior, which is not widely accepted by the community and
alienated from the mainstream culture. People who are against it require the legal prohibition, and who
support it request for setting laws to recognize its legitimacy. Thus, would homosexuality be given

What Are The Ideals Of The 1920s
America has been plagued with the American Dream since its citizens first started spreading out
westward in search of wealth and fame. Along with this American ideal came the concept of being un
American and not standing for what was considered true American. With the emergence of Populists,
Progressives and Radicals came a vast difference between what was thought as American. All groups
claimed to be trying to make the US a better place however each differed vastly in their ideas of going
about it. During the age of uncertainty between 1890 and the 1920 s a new movement called the
Progressives emerged in parts of the Unites States. They emerged as part of a long tradition of reform
aimed at correcting the issues of the country.
Progressives ranged across the social and political spectrum with different views on reform and ideas
on how to go about it. It crossed the lines of party, class, gender and even race (Nugent, page 4). Many
presidents and influential speakers had overlapping ideas regarding reform. By the end of the era
progressives managed to tackle everything from class conflict to making people better citizens.
Famous progressives include iconic members of US history such as Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow
Wilson, Jane Adams and muckraker journalists such as Upton Sinclair
One of the first issues tackled by progressives included laborers and their disconnection from
government. During the start of the progressive era there were few laws and regulations set

Cells with a genetic defect can become immortal and never stop dividing. At Baylor College of
Medicine in Houston, a group of researchers have found a gene that may determine whether a cell will
stop dividing or continue to divide. The group had cloned a gene that makes some types of cells
immortal when it is mutated. The gene, called MORtality Factor from chromosome 4 (MORF4),

Telomeres are the repeating end caps of chromosomes. As a cell divides and duplicates, the telomere
genes began to shorten. The shortening of the genetic end caps is considered a biological clock which
counts down to a cellular death, also known as apoptosis. Aging is accompanied by telomere
shortening and it has been discovered in age related diseases, such as premature aging syndromes. The
consequences of a telomere dysfunction are very diverse and can include nail dystrophy, abnormalities
in skin pigmentation, aplastic anemia, pulmonary fibrosis, and a rapidly expanding list of other
diseases. The erosion of the telomere genes is meant to suppress malignant transformations. In
exceptional cases, it can cause chromosomal instability and promote the formation of tumors.
Telomerase is the enzyme which can replace telomere genes lost through cellular senescence.
Unregulated expression of telomerase has been seen in a majority of cancers. Telomerase is a double
edged sword as it allows cancerous cells to divide without regulation. The accumulated evidence on
telomere genes would suggest that they have the ability to maintain telomere length and to mask them
from recognition as damaged DNA. Understanding telomerase regulation and telomere length
maintenance will uncover many mysteries in the control of aging and

I would recommend we use as few UDP ports as possible. Some people propose subnets provide
security. When the computer socket going to Wireshark is in promiscuous mode the and the network
ACL is open we can capture all packets going through the machine. This is a software change, which
is a alarming. Subnets provide security only for Tcp and since systems can use UDP for their
connections. UDPis quick and dirty. For example, Microsoft SQL Server 2008R2 uses UDP port 1434
for the SQL Server Browser service. This service listens for incoming connections to a named instance
and provides the client the TCP port number that corresponds to that named instance. When a

UDP hole punching is a commonly used technique employed in network address translator (NAT)

NAT traversal techniques are typically required for client to client networking applications on the

connectivity between two hosts communicating across one or more network address translators.

White Privilege In American Society
White privilege has been identified as the unspoken and often unseen advantages that white people
benefit from in various aspects of everyday life, based on nothing more than the colour of their skin
(Robbins et al. 2014:98). White privilege creates a social hierarchy in American society, in which
white is normative, and at the top of the hierarchy, and anything else is deviant (Gallagher 2003:25).
This paper will demonstrate how white privilege serves as a visual barrier for white people, through
which they are blind to the everyday struggles of people of colour. Most people who live with white
privilege remain blind to the ways in which their privilege both helps them, and harms others. The
experience of Jennifer Cramblett and Amanda Zinkon, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In making this decision, she was faced with the harsh reality that many non white mothers struggle
with; finding a multicultural school that would be accepting of her child (Mystal 2014). All of a
sudden, Cramblett was confronted with wondering if the schools would have resources that promoted
positive black identity development, so her daughter would not grow up feeling like an outsider
(Harman 2010:184). As a white person, this is something Cramblett would never have had to be
concerned with in her own life. White people live with the privilege that they can bring a new baby
into their family, their town, and their schools without worrying that their child will face
discrimination based on their racialized appearance. Cramblett was therefore unable to recognize the
everyday struggles of racialized minorities, until she was put in the position of having to make these
decisions with the safety and well being of a non white person in mind. This is clearly illustrated by
the shock and emotional distress Cramblett describes at the idea of bringing her child into a
predominantly white environment, clearly indicating the blinding nature of her privilege (Mystal

The Role Of Self Identity For Adolescents
The life transitions are the major changes that occur throughout individual s lifespan. Adolescence is
often classified as one of the most challenging and significant stage during life transition. In this
phrase, the individuals not only developing physical and sexual maturation but also experiencing the
development of identity and transitions into social and economic independence (WHO, 2014). This
essay will discuss the different concept of self identity for adolescents, the important predictable and
unpredictable elements during the transition, as well as the nurses role in relation to adolescence care.
According to Erikson s theory, as the individual transits into adolescence, he or she begins to express
the high interest in understanding and trying to make sense of the self and its qualities. This process
includes self awareness, self conscious and self examination ( Brinthaupt Lipka, 2012). Porfeli, Lee
Vondracek (2013) believed that in the early to middle adolescence, the individuals are struggling to
identify the balance between developing a unique individual identity while still being accept by the
general society. Therefore, it explains the reason why individual may develop high consciousness
towards to criticism in social environment. Simultaneously, Hoffnung, M., Hoffnung, R. J., Pause,

Assessing Information Technology (IT) Business Alignment in Procurement Services of Higher
Education Adonis Bwashi Dr. Margaret Reid Human Behavior in Complex Organizations Introduction
Strategic alignment occurs when the Information Technology (IT) and business strategies are in
dynamic symmetry with the structures that support strategy execution, which include; organization
framework and Information systems (Lapiedra, Alegre, and Chiva, 2006). Therefore, when this
alignment exists IT can predict what the business future requirements are and set up a trajectory to
meet those upcoming needs (Hu and Huang, 2007). Luftman (2003) noted that for over two decades
IT to business alignment has been classified among the top management concerns in organizations.
Although IT business alignment has been identified as a promoter for IT investment to enhance
organizational performance, fear prevails among management teams that the return of investment in
IT will not be achieved. The main reason of failure to generate return from IT investment is the
practice s challenge faced by many implementers due to external forces, like transformation of IT
(Luftman and Kempaiah, 2008), cost, and lack of understanding on alignment framework and models
to use at different strategic planning levels (Oana, 2010). Previous research works, dating as early as
1970s, demonstrate that achieving alignment between IT and business has been a critical issue;

Don T Go Chasing Waterfalls By TLC
In 1994, a girl group named TLC released a song named Waterfalls. The song served as a warning,
establishing a new character in each verse, and then having them jump into some pretty serious
situations, all of which ended in disaster. The song s message, is then summed up in the first line of
the chorus, which reads, Don t go chasing waterfalls, a metaphor that means not to get ahead of
yourself and start something just because it looks appealing, as the man in the second verse did when
he decided to be unprotected and intimate with a promiscuous women. The message is both important,
and very strongly argued with the given examples, but the metaphor itself, can be argued based on
how you view waterfalls. Many, including TLC, see waterfalls as dangerous. ... Show more content on

In accordance to this argument, it is also important to mention that waterfalls are not permanent, as
they erode themselves away with time. This speaks great volumes when it comes to TLC s viewpoint,
as these dangerous things that the characters they introduce in their song are interested in, such as the
character in the first verse s interest in selling drugs, usually have a short shelf life. To clarify, with
this particular viewpoint of waterfalls, the group, and those that see waterfalls the same way, are
further cementing their point of not chasing after dangerous things, as though they may be alluring,
they usually don t last long, and have terrible endings. A message that is very helpful, and rightfully
should be as widespread as the song s popularity made it. Others, simply view waterfalls as beautiful,
natural occurrences. They are also aware that finding these waterfalls can be difficult, as naturally
occurring ones are usually located on steep

stole mail from Maureen Rooney to get ahold of Kaitlin Costello Pryce. Frank did all of this because
the end would justify the means. Even though some of the things he did weren t right he wanted to do

  • 2. The Controversy About Feminism In the minds of many, feminism is confused with misandry, the belief that women should be more powerful than men; however, this could not be further from the truth. Feminism is women, men, and nonbinaries taking a stand, together, for equality. Fighting for unshaved female legs, fighting for late night walks through the park completely alone, and completely safe. Fighting for higher rates of self esteem and complete acceptance without judgment. Feminism tells males that it is okay to cry and show emotion. Feminism teaches the world that we are all the same, that we should strive for a better world for all. Feminism is the fight for equal rights and equal treatment in all areas of society, regardless of gender or sexual identity. The first ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Hospitality in the Qu ran Ideas on Cultural Hospitality in the Quran The virtues within the Qur an regarding hospitality and generosity seem to be a product of the landscape of pre Islamic Arabia. Indeed, the arid environment and tribal configuration of the society required that neighbors help each other, strangers or travelers be given food, and wealth be distributed evenly throughout the clan. The communities that settled along the trade routes of the Arabian Peninsula relied on merchants returning to their community to trade goods. One way to ensure this was to make the merchant feel welcome and become a temporary part of the household. Another way to guarantee their return would be ensuring the merchant survived the harsh climate of the desert, so ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If a follower gives, generously, and without selfish reasons, then God will provide for all of their needs, just as they have provided for others. The text goes on to express that even speech full of kindness and true appreciation is better than the act of charity that hurts (Qur an 2:263). Again this broad support for kind speech and generous giving is used as a lens through which the stories of hospitality can be viewed. The Qur an shows the importance of hospitality in two intertwined stories, and while the passages that dictate kindness, generosity and manners number well over twenty, the impact of these two hospitality accounts is memorable and complex. The stories actually involve two patriarchs from Israelite text, who play major roles in Qur anic teachings. The first is in surah 11:69 70 and involves Abraham s interaction with three strangers who turn out to be angels who have come to warn him about punishment of Sodom. They also bring news of Sarah s future conception and relate the story of their visit with Lot in Sodom. His first reaction to their arrival is to prepare a fatted calf, an action that frames the generosity of hospitality in a way that promotes giving the best of what you have to your guests. This act by Abraham is recounted in surah 51:24 37, The Dispersing, which clarifies that the visitors were honored guests and the proper greeting of Peace ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

China, for one adopted this policy in order to curb population growth. We all know that China has the highest population in the world, encompassing 1.2 billion or twenty one percent of the world s population. They know too well that if this would continue to grow, they will be having serious social and economic problems. As a solution, in the year 1979, Chinese authorities create a one child per family policy and because male children are often regarded as more economically valuable, female infanticides increase. Infanticides are often regarded to as an inhumane act especially to us Christians however in primitive people; this thing is not new to them. Many Asian and European countries engaged in this act to prevent the population growth in their nations. Because of the ONE CHILD POLICY, China was able to control its population. They are considered to have the highest population rate not just in Asia but in the whole world and so this policy is more or less favorable to them. This policy was said to have been the reason why they were saved from famine and other economic disability. However, in smaller countries like Japan, this policy was effective during the first years of implementation but later on become a hindrance in the progress of their country. Japan, just like China adopted this policy to prevent the growth of their population. Now, however they feel sorry that they had implemented this policy because now, they have the what you ... • 6. Social Justice And Inclusion Within The Scottish Education... The first part of this paper explores the concepts of social justice and inclusion within the Scottish Education System. Both of which are complex theories and ultimately influence each other. What is Social Justice? What is inclusion? How are they related? What does it mean to have an inclusive environment for students? How do we achieve this in schools? Does society play a part in how inclusion is introduced and maintained? These are just some of the questions that I endeavor to explore. Consistently throughout the PGDE course we are studying how to become a more inclusive practitioner whether it is through campus based learning, additional readings or teaching experience in local schools. We continuously strive towards learning how to make school a more inclusive environment. This assignment exemplified with references to reading such as Government policies, legislation and research articles as well as reflecting on my own teaching experience I hope to highlight the teachers role in creating an inclusive environment within an individual classroom. Having studied selective literature with theories and research, which could have influenced Scottish Education Policies, I draw attention to discrepancies on matters of inclusion and social justice that exist between them and the implications they have for learning. In part 2, I will provide a critical reflection on my own teaching practice during recent placement by making detailed connections to an appended lesson plan. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Lawrence can best be summed up by Yvette s reaction to her sister s philosophy of marriage: I m not sure one shouldn t have one s fling till one is twenty six , and then give in and marry! This was Lucille s philosophy, learned from older women. Yvette was twenty one. It meant she had five years to have this precious fling. And the fling meant, at the moment, the gypsy. The marriage, at the age of twenty six, meant Leo or Gerry. So, a woman could eat her cake and have her bread and butter (Lawrence, 99). It is interesting that these are the only glimpses of the world through male eyes that we are allowed in this book. It is also interesting that all three of these glimpses into the male mind are related in terms of animals. Bob expresses the feeling of being a stuffed duck while visiting with Mater. Leo expresses a dog like interest in Yvette: Catty little bitch! he said to himself. But he was of the mastiff type, he rather liked the kitten to fly in his face (Lawrence 64). Her father would never dare to face the fat worm of disbelief, that stirred in his heart (Lawrence 38). These animal metaphors keep men and women separate, almost in the same way that class keeps Yvette separate from the servants. As long as she is a virgin, with her power being her vulnerability, she is unable to quite see men as human. That s not unusual, though, since they seem to have trouble identifying themselves as human. The relationship of Yvette s grandmother, the Mater, and the Rector, her son, give Yvette a model for feminine power. It is a negative power, a power through vulnerability. And through the weakness of the unfresh, stagnant men she had bred, she kept her power (Lawrence 7). Mater, through age, has transformed herself back into a virgin. She wields power in the family through her very vulnerability. Mater s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Ghazan Khan Research Paper When Mahmud Ghazan, the seventh ruler of the Mongol Empire s Ilkhanate division, came to power after his father Arghun, the economic state of Iran was deteriorating, the value of currency was decreasing and there was not enough wealth available for the government to rule over the country. In order to resolve this matter, Ghazan Khan reformed many elements of the Ilkhanate such as defining Islam as the state religion, land grants, standardizing currency and fiscal policy. This paper is an attempt to analyze the reforms of the Ilkhanid ruler Ghazan Khan and assess their effectiveness. Scott Cleland from Net Competition said that net neutrality legislations mean less privacy for all Americans, as Net neutrality would require more government monitoring and surveillance of Internet traffic (qtd. from Net Neutrality ). But what is he talking about anyway? Net neutrality, or the separation between internet service providers (ISP s) and the content being retrieved through their networks, is an extremely hot topic nowadays. The ideals of net neutrality can be compared to the way you would use electricity in your home. Race, Gender, And Ethnicity Shivani Amin Professor Trefethen Philosophy 5 4 November 2015 Race, Gender, and Ethnicity in American Law The Virginia Military Institute was a higher education school in Virginia. It claimed to train the leaders of the future, or citizen soldiers and impart to its students great discipline; however, it only enrolled male students. In 1996, the United States government sued the state of Virginia and the Virginia Military Institute for its male only policy as a violation of the Fourteenth amendment s Equal Protection Clause. The District Court ruled in the school s favor. The Fourth Circuit demanded Virginia to reverse this constitutional violation (Van Camp). In response to this complaint, Virginia proposed a similar program for women: the Virginia Women s Institute for Leadership. The District Court found that this plan satisfied the equal protection requirement, and the Fourth Circuit affirmed that although these two institutions would differ in prestige (and the historical benefit), they would still offer essentially similar educational opportunities. The United States then appealed to the Supreme Court, and it raised the issue whether this new women s only academy satisfied the Fourteenth Amendment s Equal Protection Clause. The Supreme court ruled, in a 7 to 1 decision, that Virginia Military Institute s male only policy was unconstitutional. Thus, would homosexuality be given legal protection has become the focus. America and China are no exception. Since then, the U.S. 30 states and the federal government have passed legislation to ban recognition of same sex marriage. • 26. What Are The Ideals Of The 1920s America has been plagued with the American Dream since its citizens first started spreading out westward in search of wealth and fame. Along with this American ideal came the concept of being un American and not standing for what was considered true American. With the emergence of Populists, Progressives and Radicals came a vast difference between what was thought as American. All groups claimed to be trying to make the US a better place however each differed vastly in their ideas of going about it. During the age of uncertainty between 1890 and the 1920 s a new movement called the Progressives emerged in parts of the Unites States. They emerged as part of a long tradition of reform aimed at correcting the issues of the country. Progressives ranged across the social and political spectrum with different views on reform and ideas on how to go about it. It crossed the lines of party, class, gender and even race (Nugent, page 4). Many presidents and influential speakers had overlapping ideas regarding reform. By the end of the era progressives managed to tackle everything from class conflict to making people better citizens. Famous progressives include iconic members of US history such as Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, Jane Adams and muckraker journalists such as Upton Sinclair One of the first issues tackled by progressives included laborers and their disconnection from government. At Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, a group of researchers have found a gene that may determine whether a cell will stop dividing or continue to divide. The group had cloned a gene that makes some types of cells immortal when it is mutated. The gene, called MORtality Factor from chromosome 4 (MORF4), makes a protein that controls the activities of other genes. The researchers are hoping that it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Telomeres are the repeating end caps of chromosomes. As a cell divides and duplicates, the telomere genes began to shorten. The shortening of the genetic end caps is considered a biological clock which counts down to a cellular death, also known as apoptosis. Aging is accompanied by telomere shortening and it has been discovered in age related diseases, such as premature aging syndromes. The consequences of a telomere dysfunction are very diverse and can include nail dystrophy, abnormalities in skin pigmentation, aplastic anemia, pulmonary fibrosis, and a rapidly expanding list of other diseases. The erosion of the telomere genes is meant to suppress malignant transformations. In exceptional cases, it can cause chromosomal instability and promote the formation of tumors. Telomerase is the enzyme which can replace telomere genes lost through cellular senescence. Unregulated expression of telomerase has been seen in a majority of cancers. Telomerase is a double edged sword as it allows cancerous cells to divide without regulation. The accumulated evidence on telomere genes would suggest that they have the ability to maintain telomere length and to mask them from recognition as damaged DNA. Understanding telomerase regulation and telomere length maintenance will uncover many mysteries in the control of aging and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 30. Nt1310 Unit 5 Literature Review Of Internet I would recommend we use as few UDP ports as possible. Some people propose subnets provide security. When the computer socket going to Wireshark is in promiscuous mode the and the network ACL is open we can capture all packets going through the machine. This is a software change, which is a alarming. Subnets provide security only for Tcp and since systems can use UDP for their connections. UDPis quick and dirty. For example, Microsoft SQL Server 2008R2 uses UDP port 1434 for the SQL Server Browser service. This service listens for incoming connections to a named instance and provides the client the TCP port number that corresponds to that named instance. UDP hole punching is a commonly used technique employed in network address translator (NAT) applications for maintaining User Datagram Protocol (UDP) packet streams that traverse the NAT. NAT traversal techniques are typically required for client to client networking applications on the Internet involving hosts connected in private networks, especially in peer to peer, Direct Client to Client (DCC) and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) deployments. UDP hole punching establishes connectivity between two hosts communicating across one or more network address translators. • 31. White Privilege In American Society White privilege has been identified as the unspoken and often unseen advantages that white people benefit from in various aspects of everyday life, based on nothing more than the colour of their skin (Robbins et al. 2014:98). White privilege creates a social hierarchy in American society, in which white is normative, and at the top of the hierarchy, and anything else is deviant (Gallagher 2003:25). This paper will demonstrate how white privilege serves as a visual barrier for white people, through which they are blind to the everyday struggles of people of colour. Most people who live with white privilege remain blind to the ways in which their privilege both helps them, and harms others. The experience of Jennifer Cramblett and Amanda Zinkon, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In making this decision, she was faced with the harsh reality that many non white mothers struggle with; finding a multicultural school that would be accepting of her child (Mystal 2014). All of a sudden, Cramblett was confronted with wondering if the schools would have resources that promoted positive black identity development, so her daughter would not grow up feeling like an outsider (Harman 2010:184). As a white person, this is something Cramblett would never have had to be concerned with in her own life. White people live with the privilege that they can bring a new baby into their family, their town, and their schools without worrying that their child will face discrimination based on their racialized appearance. Cramblett was therefore unable to recognize the everyday struggles of racialized minorities, until she was put in the position of having to make these decisions with the safety and well being of a non white person in mind. This is clearly illustrated by the shock and emotional distress Cramblett describes at the idea of bringing her child into a predominantly white environment, clearly indicating the blinding nature of her privilege (Mystal ... Adolescence is often classified as one of the most challenging and significant stage during life transition. In this phrase, the individuals not only developing physical and sexual maturation but also experiencing the development of identity and transitions into social and economic independence (WHO, 2014). This essay will discuss the different concept of self identity for adolescents, the important predictable and unpredictable elements during the transition, as well as the nurses role in relation to adolescence care. According to Erikson s theory, as the individual transits into adolescence, he or she begins to express the high interest in understanding and trying to make sense of the self and its qualities. This process includes self awareness, self conscious and self examination ( Brinthaupt Lipka, 2012). Review Of Procurement Services Of Higher Education Assessing Information Technology (IT) Business Alignment in Procurement Services of Higher Education Adonis Bwashi Dr. Margaret Reid Human Behavior in Complex Organizations Introduction Strategic alignment occurs when the Information Technology (IT) and business strategies are in dynamic symmetry with the structures that support strategy execution, which include; organization framework and Information systems (Lapiedra, Alegre, and Chiva, 2006). Therefore, when this alignment exists IT can predict what the business future requirements are and set up a trajectory to meet those upcoming needs (Hu and Huang, 2007). Luftman (2003) noted that for over two decades IT to business alignment has been classified among the top management concerns in organizations. Although IT business alignment has been identified as a promoter for IT investment to enhance organizational performance, fear prevails among management teams that the return of investment in IT will not be achieved. The main reason of failure to generate return from IT investment is the practice s challenge faced by many implementers due to external forces, like transformation of IT (Luftman and Kempaiah, 2008), cost, and lack of understanding on alignment framework and models to use at different strategic planning levels (Oana, 2010). Previous research works, dating as early as 1970s, demonstrate that achieving alignment between IT and business has been a critical issue; researchers, IT and business ... • 35. Don T Go Chasing Waterfalls By TLC In 1994, a girl group named TLC released a song named Waterfalls. The song served as a warning, establishing a new character in each verse, and then having them jump into some pretty serious situations, all of which ended in disaster. The song s message, is then summed up in the first line of the chorus, which reads, Don t go chasing waterfalls, a metaphor that means not to get ahead of yourself and start something just because it looks appealing, as the man in the second verse did when he decided to be unprotected and intimate with a promiscuous women. The message is both important, and very strongly argued with the given examples, but the metaphor itself, can be argued based on how you view waterfalls. This speaks great volumes when it comes to TLC s viewpoint, as these dangerous things that the characters they introduce in their song are interested in, such as the character in the first verse s interest in selling drugs, usually have a short shelf life. To clarify, with this particular viewpoint of waterfalls, the group, and those that see waterfalls the same way, are further cementing their point of not chasing after dangerous things, as though they may be alluring, they usually don t last long, and have terrible endings.
