based on the data provided by TRI, a quick service restaurant company. Given the data, their goal of
this research is to predict the revenue so that they can decide whether it is wise to open a new
restaurant at some places. In this paper, we first want to find a linear model to predict this data. Due to
the limitation of the linear model, several methods, such as PCA (principle component analysis), ridge
regression and robust regression, are used for improving the performance of the original model. Main
issue solved in this paper is the multicollinearity problem. In the original data, 37 continuous variables
are highly collinear. The PCA, ridge regression and robust regression are helpful in some ways.
Finally, we come up with some predictions and use the known data to test the accuracy of our model.

Vitamin D s Observation Essay
Vista, California has this amazing Mexican restaurant downtown off of Main Street. She took the local
bus near her apartment to this destination. This restaurant was Clarissa s favorite establishment
because of their homemade tortilla chips, salsa, and blended margaritas with salt atop its rim. As soon
as she stepped off that bus, carefully with a pair of black ankle boots; suede, she stood for a few
moments taking in the day and the warmth of the sun. Vitamin D from the sun was important to her.
There were a few onlookers whose eyes crossed her path from the morning café across the way. The
onlookers would have seen that Clarissa was modeling her best San Diego winter wear. Her ensemble

Oak Park Township s Potential Trend Equation
1 Introduction This report presents projections of Oak Park Township s population for the year 2030.
These projections were done by three methods such as the following: allocation, trend extrapolation,
and cohort component. These projected processes and results can be elaborated by methods in the
following sections. 2 Population Projection Methods 2.1 Allocation Allocation, this method uses larger
region s population or projections and percentage of population of a smaller area in the larger region
to estimate smaller area s population. Oak Park Township is located in Cook County, so the first step
is to obtain the most recent population of Cook County and Oak Park Township and the projected
population of Cook County in 2030. According to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Then, using the population of each five year cohort in 2000, we projected the population excluding
migration in 2010. Comparing the census and projected population in 2010, the10 year migration rates
were estimated. So, with the migration rates, the migration of 2030 could be projected. Due to the
projected births, deaths and migration in 2030, the projected population of Oak park Township in 2030
was shown in following Table 4. Comparatively speaking, the allocation and trend extrapolation
methods require less data and simply assume current distributions and the trend will continue.
However, the cohort component method relies on more data and assumptions than the others. It can be
rationally projected. That is to say, if obtaining the data and assumptions is not difficult, the cohort
component could provide a reliable projection. 3 Conclusion The results of the projected population of
Oak Park Township in 2030 by different methods were distinctly shown in Table 6. These projections
have quite a bit of difference. According to the above comparison of three methods, the cohort
component should be the reliable one. In conclusion, the population of Oak Park Township is likely to
see a reduction, compared with 2010. The population is projected from 51,878 to 45,187, a decrease of

The Role Of Parents Are Becoming A Common Picture
When a child is born into this world, the traditional thing to have straight out the womb, is a mom.
This mom would then have a spouse which would help parent that child through adolescence and
beyond. Parents are given the job of raising their son or daughter so that they can live on their own
and make choices by themselves. Parents in today s society aren t the typical household piece you tend
to see in movies and read in books. Before, it was always a mom and dad who were female and male.
Today, a child doesn t always have that, they can have two moms or two dads, and sometimes one or
the other. Homosexuality and single parents are becoming a common picture you see in households.
Each situation has its benefits, with problems forming ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In today s world the typical human parenting is by heterosexual, homosexual, or single parenting with
science fiction differing by using exogenesis or androgyny as a possible way of parenting. However,
many science fiction sources use single moms as a lead role in child raising, by influencing her with
traits that equal both man and woman. I will then explore relationship statuses, ranging from a sudden
death in the family due to a rising dystopia or possibly a mother who is single because of the
extinction of male bodies on Earth. Furthermore, I will next give details on the viewpoints given by
parents, whether it be from a female, male, or artificial intelligence, and how important this part is in
child development. Then this paper will continue by explaining how important human intervention is
in childhood development from the foundation of man and woman, and through this interaction, a
child is given the best possibility at life in today s growing world. Finally, children begin sharing
viewpoints of their own that have been influenced by their parents. The parent s viewpoint being at
times influenced by society, tending to go on the side of majority and overall affecting a child s
development.

Similarities Between Romeo And Juliet Capulet
Juliet Capulet INFPs are similar to ENFPs personality wise, except they are more closed off than their

Controlled Fire During The Paleolithic Period
Controlled Fire in the Paleolithic Period (2.6 million B.C. 10,000 B.C.)
The origins of controlled fire go back to the Paleolithic Period, by early humans some of the evidence
takes us all the way back to East Africa. The use of controlled fire was a big and important
development for these early humans, this tool could be handled in so many ways not only provided
them food but also shelter, and protection.
The development of controlled fire meant that food could be haunted and cooked immediately so meat
wouldn t rot. Because there were many hominids scared across the world controlled fire allowed them
to defrost frozen meat in cold regions, this provided a more sterilized as well as nutritious diet. It
could not only be used for meats ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Clothing was part of these new developments, prehistoric clothing consisted of fur, grass, leaves and
leather that were wrapped or tied to the body in order to protect from elements of the time.
Archeologist have seen objects like handmade needles that were used to sew these clothing s in order
to create different items to keep them warm and dry. A main disadvantage of most prehistoric clothing
was that the materials would deteriorate quite fast, later on the next generation of humans found
themselves creating more durable and wearable pieces of clothing. Neanderthals faced harsh climates
there were parts of Northern Asia and Europe that had series of Ice ages, because of this man had to
step up and create something to keep their body heat. With the creation of tools in order to hunt they
found themselves hunting deer, mammoths and bears which provided large, thick and furry coats for
them. At first their clothing tended to be simple by making holes in the head and arm area letting them
drape all over their bodies. Later on it can be seen that they grew more and more sophisticated by
creating strips to wrap their clothing in place sort of like belts.
After Neanderthals there came the invention of the tunics by the Cro Magnon people they mainly
consisted of skin from a given animal and it

The Contradictory Treatment Of Violence

University Writing Seminar: The Western: Cowpunchers, Gunslingers, and Beyond
Unforgiven: The Contradictory Treatment of Violence
Violence has always been a crucial factor in many genres of cinemas and film productions. The
Western genre and the film in the genre is a fascinating approach to analyze the treatment of violence.
Violence in the Western genre has changed multiple times into completely different but interesting
view points over the course of history. The traditional western treatment of violence is related to the
myth of purgative violence, or the idea of regeneration through violence suggested by Richard Slotkin.
In the traditional Western treatment of violence, violence is considered honored and purified because
the conduction of violence eliminates and eradicates the otherness in the society and restore stability
as a direct result of violence. Moving to 1960s, the trend of Western genre shifted from classical
western to the theme of revisionist western. Revisionist western, unlike classical western, strongly
criticizes violence. Revisionist western focuses on the lawlessness of the American west, depicts the
randomness and irrationality of violence, and destroys the romanticism of violence by replacing it
with a more realistic and authentic approach to the real execution and consequence of violence in the
west.
Unforgiven directed by Clint Eastwood is a popular American Western movie filmed in 1992.
However, the film meets huge

Ways Of Knowing Are A Check On Instinctive Judgements
To respond to the statement, Ways of knowing are a check on our instinctive judgments, this essay will
address the extent of the effect ways of knowing have on our instinctive judgement. Ways of knowing
are taken as boundaries, or means of confirmation for instinctive judgements. In Malcolm Gladwell s
Blink, he said that instinctive judgement is, in one critical respect, no different from our conscious
thinking: in both, we are able to develop our rapid decision making with training and experience
(Gladwell, 2005). This suggests that the concept that instinctive judgement is trainable, then raises the
knowledge question, To what extent do ways of knowing affect instinctive judgements? . Ways of
knowing shape, reinforce, and work as checks to our instinctive judgements to a large extent. However
ways of knowing tend to be subconsciously drawn together with intuition by limiting those
judgements which then can extensively affect our instinctive judgement. I will tackle the given title ...

It can be concluded that ways of knowing such as reason and emotion affect instinctive judgements to
a large extent. However these ways of knowing will be drawn together with intuition subconsciously
which then undermines their contribution in making instinctive judgements. In relation to the title that
questions the extent of ways of knowing as a check in instinctive judgement, based on the analysis,
ways of knowing does work as a check in instinctive judgement to a large extent due to fact that there
s a large effect caused by the absence of a way of knowing in making moral instinctive judgement.
Nonetheless, ways of knowing such as reason and emotion have limitations when it comes to making
instinctive judgements instantly, as these ways of knowing need consideration and clear

The Origins Of The Tattoo
I am planning on getting a new tattoo in the next six months and have been carefully thinking about
what type of symbolism I want this specific tattoo to have. I am looking for something that represents
motherhood, love, feminism and the pure joy I have for being the mother of three amazing children. In
this paper, I will be exploring the origins of the tattoo, a style of tattoo I am interested in, the colors
and symbols of what I want to get and their meanings.
There appears to be no specific date to when tattooing was actually created . It is thought, however,
the art of tattooing was founded by accident. The theory is that a prehistoric man cut himself and
accidentally rubbed soot from a fire into it. Once the cut healed, the realization that the mark remained
behind was enough for these men and women to experiment with what they had just learned.
Tattooing then became a version of sacrifice. It involved pain, fire and blood. Since bloodletting was a
common way for the early humans to sacrifice to the gods, I suppose it is not too surprising that they
viewed this new practice as such. These early tattoos symbolized the alignment to their gods will, the
increase of fertility and a person s virility, the preservation of one s body after death and was the
ranking system among the early tribes. It was considered bad luck for a common person to have the
same tattoo as the chief.
Wherever tattooing was truly discovered, we do know it was around during ancient Egypt.

Hartford, City That Has Developed Into A Concentric Zone...
Hartford, CT is a well known city that has developed into a concentric zone fashion. A concentric zone
consists of five zones; Central Business District, Transitional Zone, Working Class Zone, Residential
Zone, and the Commuter Zone. Each zone consists of different qualities that can all be found in
Hartford. Hartford is very similar to Chicago based on the description of Chicago given by Dr.
Burgess. Just like Chicago, Hartford is also a city that has a high crime rate.
The first zone is the Central Business District. This zone is a majority of non residential buildings and
has an emphasis on business and commerce. Downtown Hartford would be considered a central
business district. This zone also has a population of workers that commute from different towns to get
to work and even from another state. In downtown Hartford, there are many popular businesses, clubs
and restaurants that attract people and customers. Examples of these business include The Hartford
Courant, AETNA and even Capital Community College. Popular restaurants and attractions include
Black eyed Sally s, Black Bear Saloon and Club NV which is a popular nightclub. The State Capitol is
also located in Downtown Hartford. Some of the people who work in downtown Hartford live in other
towns like Windsor or Bloomfield while others may travel from Springfield, Massachusetts.
The second zone is the Transitional Zone. The transitional zone is considered the least desirable place
to live due to high crime rates,

Although he had to deal with a life changing disability, Stevie s determined attitude and love for music

As a result of Stevie s impressive talent, he was signed to the label by Berry Gordy, the founder of

a lot of time at the studio and he became very comfortable there. Since Stevie was one of the youngest
people working at Motown, he loved to have fun and play tricks on people by using his handicap.
Stevie would say things that made it seem like he could see, so that it would freak people out
(Ribowsky 61). Although being blind could be very upsetting to Stevie at times, his attitude towards
his disability was not always negative. He sometimes used his handicap to have fun and make the best
of dull days at the studio. When Stevie walked into different things in the studio, it didn t frustrate
him, it would just make him laugh (Ribowsky 67). Although Stevie loved to have fun and didn t take
himself too seriously, his disability made average things very hard for him. While most people could
read things off of paper, Stevie had to memorize everything through sound. See, Stevie just worked so
hard, cause he had to, bein blind and all, recalls the guitarist Eddie Chank Willis. Everyone else had
the chords, the lyrics, everything on paper. Stevie had to memorize it all and Clarence would have
gotten all the different little changes in tempo, beat, whatever (Ribowsky 66). Instead of reading the
words when Stevie recorded music, the person that was working with him in the studio would say the
lyrics a little bit before him, and then Stevie would repeat them, making the experience longer and

head on and had an absolutely incredible experience. Firstly, I really enjoyed not having phones. It
was weird for me to not be able to reach into my pocket to check the time or to check up on what was
happening back in Burlington. It allowed to to really cherish the moment and focus on spending my
time with the nineteen other people that I was with. Each activity that we did on the retreat was a ton

most from the retreat was the one on one talks. I am someone who doesn t tend to be great at sitting
down with someone and really getting to know them and having deep conversation with them. When I
did so, I loved it more than words could speak. I am a rather intellectual and thoughtful person, but I
don t tend to share those thoughts. I talked with Lindsey, Cal, Nylah, and Jon Michael. Those

Though many critics of Celgene would call the corporation s decision to raise prices a genuinely

individuals self centered motives often improve society: By pursuing his own interests he frequently
promotes that of the society more effectually than when he really intends to promote it (Donaldson,

Analysis of a PHD StudentÂŽs Research on Investment Inequality
Summary:
In Economic Elites, Investments, and Income Inequality from the academic journal, Social Forces,
graduate Ph. D student from Ohio State University, Michael Nau presents throughout his study the rise
of an additional factor that has evidently influenced the concentration of vast amounts of income
among the elite class, income from investments. In this era, the common belief is that demographics,
labor market institutions, and technology are causing the inequality to rise and for the elites to produce
astounding amounts of income. Nau s findings present how the debate over the incomes of the elites
has to be expanded apart from the working rich class to also include the income producing wealth. In
addition, Nau presents how the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore, he mentions the sociological and economical view, which is the belief that the rise of
inequality is due to institutional changes such as the fall of minimum wage and the loss of union
power. However, when it comes to the income of the elites he argues that the income growth due to
investment is a imperative fraction to this confusion of how the wealthy are accumulating unlimited
amounts of money and causing social inequality.
Nau then explains how there are three hypotheses to the shift in economic power toward the investors
and their concentration and growing income share during the decades of 1990s to 2000s. In the first
place, Nau presents the hypotheses that the income concentration of the wealthiest was being driven
by investment gains. At the same time, he presents that also at this time, top income households took
on the title of investors imitating their behaviors and characteristics. Finally, his third hypothesis states
that both the contribution of investment income to income inequality increased relative and changed to
non investment income.
When it comes to the data and methods, this study used the Federal Reserve Board s Survey of
Consumer Finances (SCF), which is a repeated survey that includes the information on household
income and wealth holdings; the Federal Reserve conducts this survey every three years. To test the

Essay About Anger
Review of Related Literature
Anger or wrath is an intense emotional response. It is an emotion that involves a strong uncomfortable
and emotional response to a perceived provocation, hurt or threat.
Anger can occur when a person feels their personal boundaries are being or going to be violated.
Some have a learned tendency to react to anger through retaliation as a way of coping.
Anger is used as a protective mechanism to cover up fear, hurt or sadness. Anger becomes the
predominant feeling behaviorally, cognitively, and physiologically when a person makes the conscious
choice to take action to immediately stop the threatening behavior of another outside force.
The external expression of anger can be found in facial expressions, body language, physiological
responses, and at times public acts of aggression. Animals, for example, make loud sounds, attempt to
look physically larger, bare their teeth, and stare. The behaviors associated with anger are designed to
warn aggressors to stop their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Mice And Men Theme
Of Mice and Men is a novel of hopes and dreams that get broken or shattered. This is evident from the
beginning to the end. The theme is kept vivid by having the characters wanting to believe in a dream
of some kind. The title, Of Mice and Men, comes from a line of the poet Robert Burn. The original
line is The best laid schemes o mice an men gang aft aglay. Which, in modern English, translates to:
The best laid schemes of mice and men often go away. In other words, even something that has been
perfectly planned seldom becomes reality. This concept foreshadows the events that will occur
throughout the narration. It is a natural inclination for a man to dream. Some have lifelong ambitions,
while others may have short term goals. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As they move from one ranch to the other Lennie finds comfort in imagining his dream come true: Go

killing Lennie, George reassures him through this happy place they had imagined and yearned for

powerful a dream can be in one s life. In Of Mice and Men the dream gives them life, even though life

George and Lennie may have never achieved their dream; but that is what kept their friendship alive

Chromium-6 Research Paper
56% of our population in The United States uses tap water on a daily basis. We shower in it, drink it,
cook with it, and water out plants with it. How can we know that our water is safe? Well, yearly
groundwater tests should be taken. Even if they are expensive; it is better to pay the small amount
now, than having to pay millions of dollars for the health expenses of people later. There is a huge
chance that chromium could be in our water; chromium is a chemical that is used extensively by
different industries. For example, it is used to prevent corrosion in pipes (PG E), leather tanning and
electroplating. Electroplating is the process of changing the surface of a metal to prevent the surface
from wearing out; this is widely used on cars, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The EPA issued that the limit for Chromium in drinking water is 100 parts per billion. But there are
yet to be limits on the amount of Chromium 6 in our drinking water. There is currently no federal

certain concentrations could actually be a nutrient. Chromium 6 (Hexavalent Chromium) in our water
is a dangerous to have, but if it is reduced to Chromium 3, it becomes a nutrient. Research in the 1980

was also a very expensive process and it was at times ineffective. This is done by installing a series of
pumping wells, extract the water from the aquifer, and treat it with techniques previously developed

water and the contaminated whatever, so the process of cleaning the contaminated water isn t carried
out thoroughly. There are other ways of cleaning the water; one is letting the aquifers naturally take

Clinical Definition Of Clinical Context
Clinical Context
Patient, JD, is a 50 year old Caucasian male with a past medical history of polysubstance abuse who
presented to outside hospital with shortness of breath and chest pain who developed cardiogenic shock
complicated by shock liver and renal failure and was transferred to Henry Ford Hospital for elevation
of care. The patient was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) upon arrival. While in the ICU,
patient developed a fever with leukocytosis and patchy infiltrate on CXR and was treated for HCAP.
Blood cultures were drawn at that time that grew yeast, possibly related to a line infection. Lines were
removed and patient was started on fluconazole. Fungal cultures drawn grew Candida krusei and
Fluconazole was switched to anidulafungin. Infectious Disease was consulted suggesting total
duration of anti fungals of 2 weeks for candidemia. Repeat blood cultures drawn after treatment were
negative and patient s clinical status improved on anidulafungin treatment. This patient had spent a
total of 21 days in the ICU. C. krusei is known to have intrinsic resistance to fluconazole5, which is
why treatment was switched to anidulafungin, a semisynthetic echinocandin. However, invasive
candidiasis and candidemia with other strains of Candida species are prevalent in severely ill patients
and the proper treatment of such infections should be investigated.

Is anidulafungin superior to fluconazole for treatment of candidemia and invasive candidiasis in

The practice of auto repairs will eventually make you wiser in how to solve problems, save you from

The greatest benefit for learning cars is you could very well be saving money. Things you typically get
serviced on are oil changes and tire rotations. All together it could round up to be a seventy five dollar
job. Natalie Spring says, you ll notice that even though parts only cost twenty five dollars, you were
charged three hundred dollars for the mechanic to do the labor to install that part. That is where they
get you, in the cost of labor (Spring). The majority of what s being charged is the service and not the
product . It s a luxury that I m sure if people become more knowledgeable, they d rather do it
themselves and save money.
There are many ways you can learn how to fix car issues. You could find do it yourself (DIY) articles
where non professionals give the basic tips and even motivation. Car repairs can drain your
pocketbook fast, but you can do a wide range of repairs yourself, regardless of your technical skill. We
re not just talking oil changes; provided you can hold a wrench, you can fix everything ranging from
fuel filters to alternators (Klosowski). You could learn by working with a professional mechanic, read
it in a book that is revolved around the make and model of your car, or you can watch a step by step
video on You Tube. I would note that it is important to have a book on the year and model of your
vehicle, because it has a lot of info on car parts you would need.

Benefits Of Creatine Supplements
Creatine Supplements
The use of supplements is a common thing in today s modern world, specifically in the athletic one.
Every athlete is looking for a new way to enhance performance whether it be through vitamins,
enhancers, supplements, and so on. The purpose of this paper is to take a look at the supplement that
most athletes use, which is known as creatine, and to see if it has any benefits or none at all.
Creatine is a natural generated remote guanidine compound which is synthesized in the kidneys,
pancreas, and liver and released into the blood, where after, the majority of it is stored in the skeletal
muscle (Kim et. al., 2015). Creatine s involvement in the body is that it provides the energy the
muscles need to work (CREATINE, n.d.). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One side effect that comes with taking this supplement is weight gain. This could be because creatine
allows for water buildup within the muscles (CREATNIE, n.d.). Quackwatch mentioned that the
reason for this is increasing intracellular creatine may cause an osmotic influx of water into the cell
because creatine is an osmotically active substance (1999) So it might not just be muscle mass that is
allowing those to gain weight, but the majority of it could be water weight instead. Another possible
side effect would be the effect it might have on the kidneys. Earlier, I mentioned that athletes
exceeding the normal amount recommended could see consequences and this would be one of them.
Also, taking creatine while on prescription medications can also double the effect on the kidneys as
well (CREATINE, n.d.). If someone is taking prescription medication, they must first consult with

Impact Of The Enlightenment On Modern Political Thought

April 1, 2016 The Impact of the Enlightenment on Modern Political Thought
The philosopher John Locke once said, [g]overnment has no other end, but the preservation of
property ( John Locke ). The social contract is the fundamental basis for modern government. This
idea affects everything we believe a modern state should represent for itself and its people. This way
of understanding the role of government was inspired by the writings of the Enlightenment era
philosophers. This way of understanding the role of the state and its people is significantly different
from what was believed in ancient Athens and Rome. The Enlightenment era philosophers did more
than just think of new ideas of government; their works not only inspired changes during the 18th
century, but also continued to shape modern governments. While it is true that certain forms of
democracy evolved in ancient Athens and Rome, modern governments differ significantly from these
ancient societies. In some cases, the very words put forth by the philosophers were written directly
into the constitutions of countries practicing these new ideas. Without the contributions of John Locke
and other enlightenment philosophers, democracy and government as we know it today would not
exist.
The shape of modern government in America and Europe today comes from many different ideas that
existed before the Enlightenment even began. Concepts in ancient Greece are

this aspect proposes a clichéd approach where males tend to dominate females in discussions and then

Barack Obama s Story Analysis
Barack Obama s story is a story that has been infused into his genetic foundation, the idea that his
nation is greater than the sum of it. The parts which are many, they are just one. Obama believes that
we can t work out the challenges of our time unless we come together as one and unite to solve them .
We all want a better future for our children and grandchildren and unless we perfect the union by
understanding that we all have many different stories, each one is unique. But one thing that everyone
do have in common is hope, which can t give up on. Obama s belief comes from his dense faith and
generosity of the American people. Barack was born in Hawaii in 1961. His mother and father come
from two completely different places. His father is from Kenya and his mother is from Kansas. His
father being black and his mother white. From this we can assume that he has family from all different
races, which makes him a very diverse person. He is married to a woman who carries the blood of a
slave and a slave owner, whose genes also carried down to their two daughters. He wants to carry
down the diversity to all the people in America because race is a big issue that the nation cannot afford
to be ignored. Obama said that if we do ignore it, we will be making the same mistake as the
Reverend. Which was to break down, discriminate and intensify the negative to the point that it twists
the reality. We, the nation, have not yet worked through the complexities of race which is a part of the
union which we still have to perfect. If we walk away from these complexities that we have to perfect,
we will never be able to unite and solve the problems. For example, healthcare or education. Reverend
Wright and Obama s relationship has been through a lot. The reverend has helped Obama become part
of the Christian faith and he was the man who spoke to him about the obligations to love another
which Obama was really strong about in his presidency. Reverend was the one who tended to the sick
and pick up the poor. He helped serve his country in the Marines. Wright has studied and lectured at
some of the best universities and seminaries in the country. Who over thirty years led a church who

The misuse or failure to secure Personally Identifiable Information can lead to the information being
leaked, stolen, and/or misplaced. When Personally Identifiable Information is leaked it is somewhere
where anyone can access the information, an example of this would be Personally Identifiable
Information that was published in public record such as a court appearance or traffic ticket. When
Personally Identifiable Information is misplaced it is susceptible to being stolen or misused. The
misplacement of Personally Identifiable Information is of particular concern in the Information
Technology industry where if Personally Identifiable Information is misplaced in, say a database, it
could be accessed by people that are not are not supposed to be able to see the data or by people that

is of particular concern because the people, thieves, are trying to access the Personally Identifiable
Information for criminal intentions such as identity theft which has been steadily on the rise since the
begging of the computer age . Identity theft can lead to lost time and money related to securing bank

Mahatma Gandhi And Adolf Hitler As A Leader
Two historical leaders
The prominent leader of the Indian Independence against the rule of British rule in India, Mahatma
Gandhi, was born on October 2, 1869 in Porbandar of India. He studied law in London and after
completion of his study; he travelled to South Africa where he practiced as a lawyer advocating for
civil rights against the tyrannical British rule. When he returned back to his country after serving in
South Africa for a few years, he continued his advocacy of civil rights as he wanted to free India from
the British tyranny and promote a feeling of unity among the Indians. While standing against the
British and encouraging as well as attracting the Indians towards his vision, he never took path of
violence, but always believed in the path of non violence and always practiced the same.
Adolf Hitler was born in 1889, who was a dictatorial leader of Germany from 1934 to 1945. He
represented National Socialist German Workers Party commonly known as the Nazi Party. We have
always recognized Hitler as a dictatorial and as inhuman being who took the lives of many people.
But, when we look towards the positive part of his tenure, he made many reformations where he
promoted cleanliness, encouraged no meat consumption and also promoted anti smoking campaign
throughout the country. He also made the concept of euthanasia legal and authorized it for disabled
adults.

Coming of Age model as both of its main characters experience drastic life changes, which turn out to
be valuable learning experiences in the end. On Belle s side of things, a series of unfortunate events in

his self righteous attitude toward the world. Due to his unkind behaviour, a witch casts a spell on him,

Battle Of Kosovo Essay
The Battle of Kosovo created a myth that added to Serbian nationalism in three major ways. First, it
became part of the calendar of the nation. Not only did June 28 mark the battle of Kosovo, but also the
day that the Bosnian Serb student, Gavrilo Princip, assassinated Archduke Franz Ferdinand beginning
WWI. This date was and is indispensible in Serbian culture and identity. Second, it created a claim to
Kosovo by establishing the idea that Kosovo was a key part of the medieval Serbian kingdom. By
drawing a linkage to Kosovo before the Ottoman conquest the Serbs were able to make a case that
they were the rightful inheritors of the region. Third, it drew a connection between contemporary
Serbia and the Serbs of the Middle Ages through linkages between common religion and a common

The allies thought that Serbia deserved to be rewarded. The U.S, British, and French governments all

activated, mobilized, and politicized a Serbian notion of identity that would plant the seeds for future
conflict (Harzl 2011: 56). WWI further consolidated the imagery of Serbians as victims, an imagery
that would undergird the discourse of intellectuals in the late twentieth century. Serbia staggering
amount of human loss particularly in Kosovo placed them well to argue that they needed the region to

negative moments and history that deprives that identity of something that is required for its full

companies to improve their work structure to be more competitive and to the extent that the idea of an

They found out that female and male leaders have equal concern for the task. However, women
manifest more concern for an interpersonal relationship than men (Eagly and Johannesen‐Schmidt,

participative) style, which facilitates collaboration, and less autocratic (or directive) style, that don t

Furthermore, Eagly and Carli (2003) also conclude that female leader were more transformational and

male leaders were more likely to involve two other aspects of transactional leadership which are active

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Carambola
Balimbing The carambola (Averrhoa carambola) or balimbing (local name in the Philippines) has been
developed in Malaysia and Southeast Asia for a long time and is believed to have begun and
originated in Moluccas and Ceylon. In the areas of Taiwan, India, Fukien, Kuangtung and Kuangsi in
Southern China it is commonly grown. This carambola tree is fairly prominent in the Philippines,
Australia, Queensland, and respectably in a portion of the South Pacific islands especially in Guam,
Tahiti, Hawaii, Netherlands New Guinea and New Caledonia.
In particular as to its preferable soil, the carambola tree will grow faster and bear more heavily in rich
loam. It needs good drainage too because it cannot stand when flooding. Moreover, it does well on
sand, heavy clay or limestone. However, it is often chlorotic on limestone (Manda et al., 2012). ...

Reconciliation Between Victims And Perpetrators
Throughout the course of human history, violence has been a reoccurring theme in the conquest for
power in countries across the planet. Understanding the ideology behind some of this violence have
puzzled historians and psychologists for centuries; furthermore, the presence of reconciliation between
the victims and perpetrators after some of these horrific acts of terror is even more astonishing. This
form of reconciliation was a significant factor during South Africa s Truth and Reconciliation
Commission (TRC) formed in 1996. After close analysis, I have been able to identify the difference
between the similar terms of reconciliation and forgiveness, understand the evaluation process of
reconciliation between victims and perpetrators ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Negotiated forgiveness consists of the perpetrator and the victim to confront one another and discuss
the motives and understand the perpetrator s intentions. With the dialogue between the two opposing
parties, reconciliation can finally emerge. Kraft states the need for negotiated forgiveness, In the
context of truth commissions, unilateral forgiveness is forgiveness, and negotiated forgiveness is
reconciliation. During truth commissions, forgiveness appears as an internal disengagement from the
perpetrator, independent of the actions of the perpetrator. In contrast, reconciliation is a dialectical
process of acceptance, involving direct interactions between perpetrators and victims, (Kraft 115).
This is why reconciliation is extremely important, to resolve reconciliation is essential in promoting
peace. With a strong understanding of the contrast between forgiveness and reconciliation, one can
intensely evaluate the process of reconciliation during the events of the TRC. In the amnesty process
in the TRC, as previously stated to reach reconciliation, the perpetrators were to confront the
committee and the victims and discuss, in detail, their crimes. In a strange way, these testimonies,

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Illusory Causation
In the justice system, the verdicts are not always fair as innocent people are convicted of crimes they
did not commit. Over the years, there have been innovative ways to overturn a conviction by
providing new evidence. The lack of evidence or the coerce evidence against a subject can lead to
their wrongful conviction. Many believe that having video recordings of interrogations will prevent
the wrongful decisions, yet it is a disadvantage as the camera is focused on the offender. This is due to
the causation discovered between the focus point of the video and the final verdict in court cases.
These findings demonstrate illusory causation and how it plays out in the courtroom. Illusory
causation is the phenomenon in which one specific event ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The second stage of research consisted of three studies with different time length confessions. There
were two purposes for this stage (1) explore the possibilities to prevent camera influence and (2)
outline the issues of external validity such as the end judgment. Given several pieces of evidence, the
participants focused on the video taken to determine if the offender is guilty or not guilty. Researchers
revealed that the camera point of view will be the focus point regardless of the other evidence
provided. Also highlighted in the second stage is the probability of a guilty verdict increasing based on
the camera s focus point; the likelihood of a guilty verdict will double when the camera focuses on the
subject (Lassiter, 2001). The final stage of the research was like the last two although concentrating on
another aspect. The purpose of the stage was to focus on the mechanisms that are used in illusory
causation. The conclusion is that the causation relies on the perception of one rather than the analysis
of the footage. It was noted that the point of view of the participant will impact the way they register
the information and it will influence their judgment on the case. For example, the subjects may watch
the video over and over but the brain will only focus on the movements instead of what is said. When
it comes to the verdict, it will be based on the movements because the brain cannot recall the audio
portion (Lassiter, 2001).

hours early to get ready. I got my hair done and my makeup looked pretty. My mother had to drive me
to school because I didn t know my bus number. When I arrived to school, I thought we were in the

(looked higher), had a large football field that could fit a large air plane, and parking lot that could fit
hundred cars. I needed to get to the registration office because the day I picked my class schedule they
told me someone was going to show me around. After looking around for any signs and trying
multiple doors, I looked for someone to show me the way. My English was not bad, but I still had to

Importance Of Pursuing International Education
Pursuing international education is something that I ve been wanted to do. International Scholarship is
very expensive that makes it s a dream for many students including me. However, Education shouldn t
be a privileged, but it should be a right instead. Nevertheless, I dedicated myself to take advantage of
the opportunity that this scholarship will provide me. This essay will give you more details of my life
as well as my potentials to contribute to LAS. First of all, I believe that one of my strengths is that I
am a highly disciplined person as I push myself every day to get up and get things done in time. I m
highly confident of who I am and what I am capable of. Indeed, I always have a desire for excellent
academic performance in my current school that I have to spend more time studying not harder, but
smarter. This is the key secret to my academic awards every year since primary school. I could
contribute my learning experiences as well as self discipline to LAS learning community. My second
strength is responsibility. Being responsible to myself is very important as It shows that I am a grown
up man. For instance, throughout my high school years, I ve been chosen to become a class president.
I hope that my responsibility will prove that I am able to live abroad and take care myself. Everybody
has their own unique talent and my talent is painting. Art has become a part of who I am as It allows
me to express myself through colors.

Classical Music Racism
The feeling of sitting down in a dark movie theater with a bucket of buttered popcorn and your
favorite drink is a common experience for most Americans. The lights dim down and the theater is
filled with music; whether it s intense battle music, sweet soft ballets, or a somber melody, the music
sets the mood. What most people don t know is that just over four percent of the musicians in
American orchestras are of black or Latino decent, a statistic that hasn t gone through much change in
the last decade. This leads us to wonder why classical music is so racist. The four main issues with
racism in the classical music industry today are the low percent of minority s in the United States and
Britain, the lack of classical music opportunities in inner city schools, low advertisement of classical
music to minority s, and an unjust audition and commissioning process. In the United States, there are
117 symphony orchestras, and only four percent of those orchestras are made up of black or Latino
musicians(WQXR). The first issue of racism in classical music are the remarkably low percentages of
minorities in classical music and the uncomfort that minorities face in classical music culture. This
percentage isn t just low in the US, in Britain only five percent of minorities make up professional
orchestras (mediadiversified). When you think of the music industry as a whole, it looks extremely
diverse especially in pop music, since the industry is so diverse its easy for diverse

Compare And Contrast Benign And Malignant Tumors
Tumors are one of the most feared diseases of our time. Many people upon hearing the word tumor
immediately resonate to the conclusion of it being cancer, which is not necessarily true. Tumors fall
into to two main types, benign and malignant. Although they are considerably different in tissue
invasion, their nature that makes them distinct and symptoms, they are also quite similar in the way
they recur in the same location, growth size and their health risks.
The first difference in malignant and benign tumors is how they invade cell tissue. Malignant tumors
in general, have a tendency to penetrate tissues, whereas benign tumors don t though they can add
pressure to organs resulting in organ damage1. A simplified ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The first similarity is that just like malignant tumors, benign tumors can also be quite large. A
common mistake patients often make is confuse benign tumors with malignant tumors because of the
size. Although malignant tumors are usually larger than benign tumors, that alone does not make the
difference. In fact, a benign tumors weighing over a hundred pounds have been removed. An example
of a large benign tumor is a 32 year old man from Vietnam who survived a 12 hour operation in which
a massive 198 pound benign tumor from his right leg was removed at France Vietnam Hospital (FV)
on January 5, 2012.2 The second similarity is that both malignant and benign tumors recur locally, to
be more specific, the location where the recurrence of the tumor most likely happens. To elaborate
further, both benign and malignant tumors have the ability to reappear near or in the same area where
the previous tumor was located. For instance, recurrent breast tumors are tumors that have come back
in the same breast or chest wall after the treatment for a period of time when the tumor couldn t be
detected.3 The third and final similarity is the danger both malignant and benign tumors pose to the
health of the patient. Similar

Autumn Rhythm, By Robert Rauschenberg, And Marilyn Diptych
Abstract Expressionism began in the 1940s and the 1950s in New York after World War II from the
ideas of Surrealism about art that looks to examining the unconscious mind, and the feelings people
hold that makes us all humans. Through the discussion of Autumn Rhythm (Number 30) by Jackson
Pollock, I will define Abstract Expression and why this work is part of this movement. Then, through
the discussion of Canyon by Robert Rauschenberg, Target with Plaster Casts by Jasper Johns, and
Marilyn Diptych by Andy Warhol, I will explain Assemblage and Pop Art and why each of these
works belong to those movements. Autumn Rhythm (Number 30) is Jackson Pollock s most famous
piece that shows action painting, a defining technique of Abstract Expressionism, and his innovative
drip painting technique he developed in 1940. Pollock created his piece by placing the canvas on the
floor, then he used brushes, or even his hands and started to drip the paint on the surface. His distinct
technique of painting makes him absorbed in the creation of his art piece without being aware of what
he is doing. Therefore, Pollock is free from realism and from his own self through painting because it
relieves his anxiety now that he is focused only on his art. Pollock s work is classified as non objective
because Autumn Rhythm (Number 30) cannot be related to any recognizable object from real life, so
he is not constraint by reality, but goes outside the box as if liberated to soar free and paint from his

Three Properties Associated With God In Western Religion
1. Theology is the study of the nature of God and religious belief. Using reason, religious texts,
history, revelation, and science as evidence. Philosophy of Religion grounds human knowledge and
synthesizes.
2. The questions Philosophy of Religion deals with are: Existence of God, what is Religion? Faith vs.
Reason, Faith vs. Reason, are there any rational reasons to believe? the Problem of Evil,
Characteristics of Religion, and Problem with the Attributes of deity.
3. Misconceptions think that religion has to do with God and God is Supernatural Beings, greater
reality or spiritual dimension. None of that is necessary because there are some religions who think
without those elements.

The Theodicies of Augustine believed that humans are free but fallen because humanity started
disobedience in the Garden of Eden and mankind is to blame for evil. Iraneus viewed this with a
teleological and developmental view that God is making a soul. He believed that evil has a purpose
and thinks that evil mean end if evil didn t exist, spiritual development wouldn t be created so God
made evil and the purpose was to have evidence if God is all good. John Hick argument is that the
relationship between humankind and God is a parent/ child relationship because parents birth child,
teach their child the difference between good and bad. They much learn how to live a good life as God
sees fit but John Hick argues that if we try creating a perfect image then God will create a man in a

Eileen Fisher Case Study Essay
|
While reading through Eileen Fisher, Repositioning the Brand, it became apparent early on that the
company s main issue was relevancy an issue that many companies face in today s market. Keeping
the company current in order to attract new customers while not abandoning already loyal customers
in the process is a huge challenge that EILEEN FISHER struggled with. For purposes of
differentiating between the company and the person, EILEEN FISHER shall refer to the company for
the duration of this analysis summary.
As a company that Fisher started from scratch, she seemed to gear the company toward making
clothes that she herself liked to wear, which is a perfectly fine business model, but only to a certain
extent. As she aged, so did ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After IDEO s strategies were finalized, they were implemented during the 2009 fall season via the
STITCH project. Together, both companies decided that a holistic approach would be the best way to
revitalize the company, updating the company s advertising aesthetic, changing in store visuals and
merchandising, overhauling the website, and embracing video as a communication medium in the
process all of which helped to attract a generally younger consumer.
While Fisher herself saw the rebranding as a huge success as in store and online sales both saw large
increases after the change was implemented, the company itself saw a decent amount of backlash from
its already loyal clientele. Regular customers felt insulted at the apparent short sightedness of the
company s rebranding, stating that by creating an edgier product for a younger consumer, they were
implying that the older consumer has no edge, thereby alienating them in the process. Without an
already well established social media presence, the company had no real way of responding to the
criticisms.
Despite the negativity surrounding the brand repositioning, EILEEN FISHER continued to embrace
the change, narrowing down its potential customer base to three categories: the established woman,
the emerging woman, and the nascent woman.
The emerging woman seemed the most attractive consumer base to target,

A Rose for Emily vs Killings Essay
English 2010
March 20, 2013
A Rose for Emily vs Killings The story A Rose for Emily was written by William Faulkner. The other
story I am using to compare and contrast with is Killings written by Andre Dubus. These stories are
similar in plot and theme. Both of these stories deal with murder, love and revenge. Though, love and
murder are presented in different ways in the two stories. The main character in both these stories are
of the opposite sex and they are both the protagonist. A Rose for Emily is about a women named
Emily Grierson and her mysterious life as a southern belle. While Killings is based on a man named
Matt Fowler who commits a bad crime. Faulkner and Dubus start both short stories A Rose for Emily

Matt is a middle class man who becomes obsessed with the need to get revenge on his son s death. His
son Frank is killed by a man named Richard. He is the husband and dads father of the women his son
is in love with. This is what leads Matt into killing someone he wants pay back for his son death. Matt
kills because he loves.
Emily was obsessed with holding on to the past and to avoid change. When her father dies she is
really sad. She then meets a man named Homer Barron. She is afraid she will lose him too because he
is not the kind of guy to settle down. So if she kills him she could at least still be able to see him after
he is dead because she will keep his dead body in her house. By her keeping the body in the house it
shows she had a hard time of letting go. Emily kills because of her extreme love.
The stories are similar in a way that both characters Matt and Emily kill because of their strong act of
love. They kill out of love for someone. Emily killed Homer because she was afraid to be alone. As
for Matt, he killed for closure for his son s death. This makes the reader sympathize with the
protagonist who show their love by murdering someone.
Another similarity in the stories is both of the characters are about their life styles and reasons for their
actions. Emily and Matt are both seeking revenge. Matt murders Richard and Emily murders Homer
out of revenge. Both character are strong and do what needs to be done. They are the same

Given the data, their goal of this research is to predict the revenue so that they can decide whether it is wise to open a new restaurant at some places. In this paper, we first want to find a linear model to predict this data. Due to the limitation of the linear model, several methods, such as PCA (principle component analysis), ridge regression and robust regression, are used for improving the performance of the original model. Main issue solved in this paper is the multicollinearity problem. In the original data, 37 continuous variables are highly collinear. The PCA, ridge regression and robust regression are helpful in some ways. Finally, we come up with some predictions and use the known data to test the accuracy of our model. [Key words] prediction, multicollinearity, high dimension, principle component analysis, robust regression, ridge regression, linear regression Section 1: Introduction With over 1,200 quick ... As soon as she stepped off that bus, carefully with a pair of black ankle boots; suede, she stood for a few moments taking in the day and the warmth of the sun. • 4. Oak Park Township s Potential Trend Equation 1 Introduction This report presents projections of Oak Park Township s population for the year 2030. These projections were done by three methods such as the following: allocation, trend extrapolation, and cohort component. These projected processes and results can be elaborated by methods in the following sections. 2 Population Projection Methods 2.1 Allocation Allocation, this method uses larger region s population or projections and percentage of population of a smaller area in the larger region to estimate smaller area s population. Oak Park Township is located in Cook County, so the first step is to obtain the most recent population of Cook County and Oak Park Township and the projected population of Cook County in 2030. According to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Then, using the population of each five year cohort in 2000, we projected the population excluding migration in 2010. Comparing the census and projected population in 2010, the10 year migration rates were estimated. So, with the migration rates, the migration of 2030 could be projected. Due to the projected births, deaths and migration in 2030, the projected population of Oak park Township in 2030 was shown in following Table 4. Comparatively speaking, the allocation and trend extrapolation methods require less data and simply assume current distributions and the trend will continue. However, the cohort component method relies on more data and assumptions than the others. It can be rationally projected. That is to say, if obtaining the data and assumptions is not difficult, the cohort component could provide a reliable projection. 3 Conclusion The results of the projected population of Oak Park Township in 2030 by different methods were distinctly shown in Table 6. These projections have quite a bit of difference. According to the above comparison of three methods, the cohort component should be the reliable one. In conclusion, the population of Oak Park Township is likely to see a reduction, compared with 2010. The population is projected from 51,878 to 45,187, a decrease of 6,691 or 12.9 ... This mom would then have a spouse which would help parent that child through adolescence and beyond. Parents are given the job of raising their son or daughter so that they can live on their own and make choices by themselves. Parents in today s society aren t the typical household piece you tend to see in movies and read in books. Before, it was always a mom and dad who were female and male. I will then explore relationship statuses, ranging from a sudden death in the family due to a rising dystopia or possibly a mother who is single because of the extinction of male bodies on Earth. Furthermore, I will next give details on the viewpoints given by parents, whether it be from a female, male, or artificial intelligence, and how important this part is in child development. Then this paper will continue by explaining how important human intervention is in childhood development from the foundation of man and woman, and through this interaction, a child is given the best possibility at life in today s growing world. Finally, children begin sharing viewpoints of their own that have been influenced by their parents. The parent s viewpoint being at times influenced by society, tending to go on the side of majority and overall affecting a child s development. Parenting in Science ... The Contradictory Treatment Of Violence Mintian Zhou Jacob Burg University Writing Seminar: The Western: Cowpunchers, Gunslingers, and Beyond Unforgiven: The Contradictory Treatment of Violence Violence has always been a crucial factor in many genres of cinemas and film productions. The Western genre and the film in the genre is a fascinating approach to analyze the treatment of violence. Violence in the Western genre has changed multiple times into completely different but interesting view points over the course of history. The traditional western treatment of violence is related to the myth of purgative violence, or the idea of regeneration through violence suggested by Richard Slotkin. In the traditional Western treatment of violence, violence is considered honored and purified because the conduction of violence eliminates and eradicates the otherness in the society and restore stability as a direct result of violence. Moving to 1960s, the trend of Western genre shifted from classical western to the theme of revisionist western. Revisionist western, unlike classical western, strongly criticizes violence. Revisionist western focuses on the lawlessness of the American west, depicts the randomness and irrationality of violence, and destroys the romanticism of violence by replacing it with a more realistic and authentic approach to the real execution and consequence of violence in the west. Unforgiven directed by Clint Eastwood is a popular American Western movie filmed in 1992. However, the film meets huge ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Ways Of Knowing Are A Check On Instinctive Judgements To respond to the statement, Ways of knowing are a check on our instinctive judgments, this essay will address the extent of the effect ways of knowing have on our instinctive judgement. Ways of knowing are taken as boundaries, or means of confirmation for instinctive judgements. In Malcolm Gladwell s Blink, he said that instinctive judgement is, in one critical respect, no different from our conscious thinking: in both, we are able to develop our rapid decision making with training and experience (Gladwell, 2005). This suggests that the concept that instinctive judgement is trainable, then raises the knowledge question, To what extent do ways of knowing affect instinctive judgements? . I am looking for something that represents motherhood, love, feminism and the pure joy I have for being the mother of three amazing children. In this paper, I will be exploring the origins of the tattoo, a style of tattoo I am interested in, the colors and symbols of what I want to get and their meanings. There appears to be no specific date to when tattooing was actually created . It is thought, however, the art of tattooing was founded by accident. The theory is that a prehistoric man cut himself and accidentally rubbed soot from a fire into it. Once the cut healed, the realization that the mark remained behind was enough for these men and women to experiment with what they had just learned. Tattooing then became a version of sacrifice. It involved pain, fire and blood. Since bloodletting was a common way for the early humans to sacrifice to the gods, I suppose it is not too surprising that they viewed this new practice as such. These early tattoos symbolized the alignment to their gods will, the increase of fertility and a person s virility, the preservation of one s body after death and was the ranking system among the early tribes. It was considered bad luck for a common person to have the same tattoo as the chief. Wherever tattooing was truly discovered, we do know it was around during ancient Egypt. ... Going into the retreat, I was nervous. I worried about the school that I was missing, if I had packed enough, if I was going to like the food, if I was going to feel a part of the group, etc. But I faced it head on and had an absolutely incredible experience. It allowed to to really cherish the moment and focus on spending my time with the nineteen other people that I was with. Though many critics of Celgene would call the corporation s decision to raise prices a genuinely greedy and selfish act, Smith sees nothing wrong with such a move. On this issue Smith states that an individuals self centered motives often improve society: By pursuing his own interests he frequently promotes that of the society more effectually than when he really intends to promote it (Donaldson, 167). Given Celgene s perceived self centered actions, Smith would note that this type of free market behavior is positive and is guided by an invisible hand which helps such behavior to be beneficial to society as a whole. The next philosopher to be examined would argue that the invisible hand that Smith speaks of is indeed separate from the political realm. Milton Friedman continues with Smith s line of logic as he asserts that the chief concern of the businessman must be to make a profit under socially acceptable means and that the defining of social responsibilities must be left in the political sphere. Celgene s chief executive, John Jackson, was the primary force behind the company s decision to raise prices. D student from Ohio State University, Michael Nau presents throughout his study the rise of an additional factor that has evidently influenced the concentration of vast amounts of income among the elite class, income from investments. In this era, the common belief is that demographics, labor market institutions, and technology are causing the inequality to rise and for the elites to produce astounding amounts of income. Nau s findings present how the debate over the incomes of the elites has to be expanded apart from the working rich class to also include the income producing wealth. In addition, Nau presents how the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Furthermore, he mentions the sociological and economical view, which is the belief that the rise of inequality is due to institutional changes such as the fall of minimum wage and the loss of union power. However, when it comes to the income of the elites he argues that the income growth due to investment is a imperative fraction to this confusion of how the wealthy are accumulating unlimited amounts of money and causing social inequality. Nau then explains how there are three hypotheses to the shift in economic power toward the investors and their concentration and growing income share during the decades of 1990s to 2000s. In the first place, Nau presents the hypotheses that the income concentration of the wealthiest was being driven by investment gains. At the same time, he presents that also at this time, top income households took on the title of investors imitating their behaviors and characteristics. Finally, his third hypothesis states that both the contribution of investment income to income inequality increased relative and changed to non investment income. When it comes to the data and methods, this study used the Federal Reserve Board s Survey of Consumer Finances (SCF), which is a repeated survey that includes the information on household income and wealth holdings; the Federal Reserve conducts this survey every three years. • 21. Essay About Anger Review of Related Literature Anger or wrath is an intense emotional response. It is an emotion that involves a strong uncomfortable and emotional response to a perceived provocation, hurt or threat. Anger can occur when a person feels their personal boundaries are being or going to be violated. Some have a learned tendency to react to anger through retaliation as a way of coping. Anger is used as a protective mechanism to cover up fear, hurt or sadness. Anger becomes the predominant feeling behaviorally, cognitively, and physiologically when a person makes the conscious choice to take action to immediately stop the threatening behavior of another outside force. The external expression of anger can be found in facial expressions, body language, physiological responses, and at times public acts of aggression. The patient was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) upon arrival. While in the ICU, patient developed a fever with leukocytosis and patchy infiltrate on CXR and was treated for HCAP. Blood cultures were drawn at that time that grew yeast, possibly related to a line infection. Lines were removed and patient was started on fluconazole. Fungal cultures drawn grew Candida krusei and Fluconazole was switched to anidulafungin. Infectious Disease was consulted suggesting total duration of anti fungals of 2 weeks for candidemia. Repeat blood cultures drawn after treatment were negative and patient s clinical status improved on anidulafungin treatment. This patient had spent a total of 21 days in the ICU. C. krusei is known to have intrinsic resistance to fluconazole5, which is why treatment was switched to anidulafungin, a semisynthetic echinocandin. Mrs. Orens/Mr. Reiss April 1, 2016 The Impact of the Enlightenment on Modern Political Thought The philosopher John Locke once said, [g]overnment has no other end, but the preservation of property ( John Locke ). The social contract is the fundamental basis for modern government. This idea affects everything we believe a modern state should represent for itself and its people. This way of understanding the role of government was inspired by the writings of the Enlightenment era philosophers. This way of understanding the role of the state and its people is significantly different from what was believed in ancient Athens and Rome. The Enlightenment era philosophers did more than just think of new ideas of government; their works not only inspired changes during the 18th century, but also continued to shape modern governments. While it is true that certain forms of democracy evolved in ancient Athens and Rome, modern governments differ significantly from these ancient societies. In some cases, the very words put forth by the philosophers were written directly into the constitutions of countries practicing these new ideas. Without the contributions of John Locke and other enlightenment philosophers, democracy and government as we know it today would not exist. The shape of modern government in America and Europe today comes from many different ideas that existed before the Enlightenment even began. Concepts in ancient Greece are ... • 29. Barack Obama s Story Analysis Barack Obama s story is a story that has been infused into his genetic foundation, the idea that his nation is greater than the sum of it. The parts which are many, they are just one. Obama believes that we can t work out the challenges of our time unless we come together as one and unite to solve them . We all want a better future for our children and grandchildren and unless we perfect the union by understanding that we all have many different stories, each one is unique. But one thing that everyone do have in common is hope, which can t give up on. Obama s belief comes from his dense faith and generosity of the American people. Barack was born in Hawaii in 1961. His mother and father come from two completely different places. His father is from Kenya and his mother is from Kansas. His father being black and his mother white. From this we can assume that he has family from all different races, which makes him a very diverse person. He is married to a woman who carries the blood of a slave and a slave owner, whose genes also carried down to their two daughters. He wants to carry down the diversity to all the people in America because race is a big issue that the nation cannot afford to be ignored. Obama said that if we do ignore it, we will be making the same mistake as the Reverend. Which was to break down, discriminate and intensify the negative to the point that it twists the reality. We, the nation, have not yet worked through the complexities of race which is a part of the union which we still have to perfect. If we walk away from these complexities that we have to perfect, we will never be able to unite and solve the problems. For example, healthcare or education. Reverend Wright and Obama s relationship has been through a lot. The reverend has helped Obama become part of the Christian faith and he was the man who spoke to him about the obligations to love another which Obama was really strong about in his presidency. This date was and is indispensible in Serbian culture and identity. Second, it created a claim to Kosovo by establishing the idea that Kosovo was a key part of the medieval Serbian kingdom. By drawing a linkage to Kosovo before the Ottoman conquest the Serbs were able to make a case that they were the rightful inheritors of the region. The second stage of research consisted of three studies with different time length confessions. There were two purposes for this stage (1) explore the possibilities to prevent camera influence and (2) outline the issues of external validity such as the end judgment. Given several pieces of evidence, the participants focused on the video taken to determine if the offender is guilty or not guilty. Researchers revealed that the camera point of view will be the focus point regardless of the other evidence provided. Also highlighted in the second stage is the probability of a guilty verdict increasing based on the camera s focus point; the likelihood of a guilty verdict will double when the camera focuses on the subject (Lassiter, 2001). The final stage of the research was like the last two although concentrating on another aspect. The purpose of the stage was to focus on the mechanisms that are used in illusory causation. The conclusion is that the causation relies on the perception of one rather than the analysis of the footage. It was noted that the point of view of the participant will impact the way they register the information and it will influence their judgment on the case. For example, the subjects may watch the video over and over but the brain will only focus on the movements instead of what is said. When it comes to the verdict, it will be based on the movements because the brain cannot recall the audio portion (Lassiter, 2001). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. My First Day Of High School My first day of high school was my first time attending school in America. It was the scariest week of my life. I had only been in America for two month when my mother told me I had to start high school next week. I was very nervous and scared, but my mother told me that the school was going to be similar to my school in Egypt. I don t remember why I believed her at this time. Thought, I think I wanted to believe that everything was going to be normal and regular. The day before going to school, I went with my mother to buy all my school material. I got one of this large expensive backpack, a pencil, three note books, and colors pens. When I got home, I was relaxed and excited. I loved and enjoyed shopping for school supplies and clothes for my new school. The first day, I woke up two hours early to get ready. I got my hair done and my makeup looked pretty. My mother had to drive me to school because I didn t know my bus number. When I arrived to school, I thought we were in the wrong place, or my mother took me to the mall by accident. The high school was two floor high (looked higher), had a large football field that could fit a large air plane, and parking lot that could fit hundred cars. I needed to get to the registration office because the day I picked my class schedule they told me someone was going to show me around. After looking around for any signs and trying multiple doors, I looked for someone to show me the way. My English was not bad, but I still had to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 41. Classical Music Racism The feeling of sitting down in a dark movie theater with a bucket of buttered popcorn and your favorite drink is a common experience for most Americans. The lights dim down and the theater is filled with music; whether it s intense battle music, sweet soft ballets, or a somber melody, the music sets the mood. What most people don t know is that just over four percent of the musicians in American orchestras are of black or Latino decent, a statistic that hasn t gone through much change in the last decade. This leads us to wonder why classical music is so racist. The four main issues with racism in the classical music industry today are the low percent of minority s in the United States and Britain, the lack of classical music opportunities in inner city schools, low advertisement of classical music to minority s, and an unjust audition and commissioning process. In the United States, there are 117 symphony orchestras, and only four percent of those orchestras are made up of black or Latino musicians(WQXR). The first issue of racism in classical music are the remarkably low percentages of minorities in classical music and the uncomfort that minorities face in classical music culture. This percentage isn t just low in the US, in Britain only five percent of minorities make up professional orchestras (mediadiversified). When you think of the music industry as a whole, it looks extremely diverse especially in pop music, since the industry is so diverse its easy for diverse ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Many people upon hearing the word tumor immediately resonate to the conclusion of it being cancer, which is not necessarily true. Tumors fall into to two main types, benign and malignant. Although they are considerably different in tissue invasion, their nature that makes them distinct and symptoms, they are also quite similar in the way they recur in the same location, growth size and their health risks. The first difference in malignant and benign tumors is how they invade cell tissue. Malignant tumors in general, have a tendency to penetrate tissues, whereas benign tumors don t though they can add pressure to organs resulting in organ damage1. A simplified ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first similarity is that just like malignant tumors, benign tumors can also be quite large. A common mistake patients often make is confuse benign tumors with malignant tumors because of the size. Although malignant tumors are usually larger than benign tumors, that alone does not make the difference. In fact, a benign tumors weighing over a hundred pounds have been removed. An example of a large benign tumor is a 32 year old man from Vietnam who survived a 12 hour operation in which a massive 198 pound benign tumor from his right leg was removed at France Vietnam Hospital (FV) on January 5, 2012.2 The second similarity is that both malignant and benign tumors recur locally, to be more specific, the location where the recurrence of the tumor most likely happens. To elaborate further, both benign and malignant tumors have the ability to reappear near or in the same area where the previous tumor was located. For instance, recurrent breast tumors are tumors that have come back in the same breast or chest wall after the treatment for a period of time when the tumor couldn t be detected.3 The third and final similarity is the danger both malignant and benign tumors pose to the health of the patient. • 43. Autumn Rhythm, By Robert Rauschenberg, And Marilyn Diptych Abstract Expressionism began in the 1940s and the 1950s in New York after World War II from the ideas of Surrealism about art that looks to examining the unconscious mind, and the feelings people hold that makes us all humans. Through the discussion of Autumn Rhythm (Number 30) by Jackson Pollock, I will define Abstract Expression and why this work is part of this movement. Then, through the discussion of Canyon by Robert Rauschenberg, Target with Plaster Casts by Jasper Johns, and Marilyn Diptych by Andy Warhol, I will explain Assemblage and Pop Art and why each of these works belong to those movements. Autumn Rhythm (Number 30) is Jackson Pollock s most famous piece that shows action painting, a defining technique of Abstract Expressionism, and his innovative drip painting technique he developed in 1940. Pollock created his piece by placing the canvas on the floor, then he used brushes, or even his hands and started to drip the paint on the surface. His distinct technique of painting makes him absorbed in the creation of his art piece without being aware of what he is doing. Therefore, Pollock is free from realism and from his own self through painting because it relieves his anxiety now that he is focused only on his art. Pollock s work is classified as non objective because Autumn Rhythm (Number 30) cannot be related to any recognizable object from real life, so he is not constraint by reality, but goes outside the box as if liberated to soar free and paint from his ... • 45. Eileen Fisher Case Study Essay | While reading through Eileen Fisher, Repositioning the Brand, it became apparent early on that the company s main issue was relevancy an issue that many companies face in today s market. Keeping the company current in order to attract new customers while not abandoning already loyal customers in the process is a huge challenge that EILEEN FISHER struggled with. For purposes of differentiating between the company and the person, EILEEN FISHER shall refer to the company for the duration of this analysis summary. As a company that Fisher started from scratch, she seemed to gear the company toward making clothes that she herself liked to wear, which is a perfectly fine business model, but only to a certain extent. As she aged, so did ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After IDEO s strategies were finalized, they were implemented during the 2009 fall season via the STITCH project. Together, both companies decided that a holistic approach would be the best way to revitalize the company, updating the company s advertising aesthetic, changing in store visuals and merchandising, overhauling the website, and embracing video as a communication medium in the process all of which helped to attract a generally younger consumer. While Fisher herself saw the rebranding as a huge success as in store and online sales both saw large increases after the change was implemented, the company itself saw a decent amount of backlash from its already loyal clientele. Regular customers felt insulted at the apparent short sightedness of the company s rebranding, stating that by creating an edgier product for a younger consumer, they were implying that the older consumer has no edge, thereby alienating them in the process. Without an already well established social media presence, the company had no real way of responding to the criticisms. Despite the negativity surrounding the brand repositioning, EILEEN FISHER continued to embrace the change, narrowing down its potential customer base to three categories: the established woman, the emerging woman, and the nascent woman. The emerging woman seemed the most attractive consumer base to target, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
