The group I have set out to learn more about is a club based in Dallas that is called STV Almrausch.
They are a non political, non for profit Bavarian/Austrian Dance club that both teaches and preserves
the traditions of Germany. I met them while at the Oktoberfest in Addison this year, and not knowing a
club like this even existed in the United States I was intrigued by why people with no German links or
even ancestry would want to join and spend most weekends promoting a culture that they don t even
have. I lived in Bavaria for many years even going to high school there so I knew about these groups
in Germany and what they did even having friends that were part of these groups. Although I saw
them perform at festivals the interworking of the clubs are completely strange to me. In my research I
would not only want to learn about what the group in Dallas does ,but also have input from groups in
Germany, and just by coincidence the group in Dallas has a sponsor group in Germany very close to
where I lived.
I would like to discover how and if the group has Americanized some aspects to make them more
appealing to American audiences, furthermore get to understand the significance of the costumes,
dancing, and other practices that I saw in Germany, but never really thought to see what it meant. Like

The Valley of Elah is best known for the being the site of a famous biblical battle between David and
Goliath. Elah comes from the word terebinth, a type of tree that is commonly found in the area. The
valley is located on the western edge of the Judah low hills. This valley served as a gateway from the

People are selfish creatures who generally view others in a limited, self serving manner; only forming
an opinion on another s identity in relation to their own. In the novel Great Expectations by Charles
Dickens, the protagonist Pip s character development is entirely due to the way he views those close to
him and his need for self improvement in response to these views. As Pip matures, he looks to the
world around him and more importantly to the people around him to form his desires and ambitions.

Blood pressure is defined as the pressure of blood as it s applied to the walls of blood vessels when the
heart contracts. Blood pressure is important to homeostasis in the body because it helps maintain
temperature and proper delivery of nutrients to the body. The kidneys depend on blood pressure for
helping it filter blood and they also control one of the mechanisms for regulating blood pressure called
long term blood pressure control. When the blood pressure is low, the kidneys release
substance/enzyme called renin. Renin causes the production of a chemical known as angiotensin 2
through this cascade of reactions. Then, Angiotensin 2 causes constriction of blood vessels which
means the lessening of the diameter in the blood vessels. When blood vessels are constricted the blood
pressure rises. Another gland also helps out. This is called the adrenal gland. In this process, the
adrenal cortex on the outside of the adrenal gland releases a substance called aldosterone in the
presence of angiotensin 2. This substance increases sodium reabsorption in the body. This also
increases water reabsorption. In addition, the reabsorbed water increases the blood volume which also

Introduction: History of Bartolome de la casas Bartolome de la Casas was a historian who had Spanish
origin, and he was branded a Dominican friar and a social reformer as well. He was born in Seville in
1484 and was eventually given an official appointment as the protector of the Indians. His
appointment as the protector of Indians was greatly sparkled by his service as resident bishop in
Chiapas, a position that he was surely the first person of his kind to hold. He was a great writer and
used his writing to address the issues that colonialists committed against the indigenous people
especially in the West Indies. To this effect Bartolome de la Casas wrote an Account on the
Destruction of the Indies alongside the other document called Historia de Las Indias . He arrived in

The Renaissance period is know for the revival of the classical art and intellect born in ancient Greece
and Rome. The Renaissance is also a time that is marked with growth, exploration and rebirth. The
Italian Renaissance started in Florence and progressively made it s way into Venice and then into the
great city of Rome. During the Renaissance, Rome was home to some of the renowned works of art
