The Education System Of Education Essay
There s a lot going on in today s society from the election, roads, taxes, even killer clowns. I m going
to talk about today s education system. Since the education being taught in the schools is for the
generations to come. People need education to have a stable life in this country, to get a good job, and
to support themselves financially. Therefore, are need to improve education overall.
First, the students being taught in the classes are based on technology. We already know how
technology is carrying how students perform in education. But in education today kids and students
are surrounded by it. When I was elementary or even middle school there was no such thing as an Ipad
or a Chromebook. The school board is making students feel like it s a necessity to have in class
everyday. I see kids at the age of 6 or 7 asking for their Ipad or chromebook for homework. I ask
myself is this really how the school board wants to teach the future generation of students? Students
are so used to using PowerPoint and Word at such a young age.
Secondly, the lack of teachers and the lack of people who want to be teachers is creating problems.
Teachers have been going on strike in different committees in the US. The most this class would know
about is how Mchenry high schools teachers went on strike. We don t pay our teachers enough for
what they do. The teachers in the US barely make enough to live a nice live. Overall I think we should
pay teachers as much as doctors because a doctor

Substance Abuse Problem
Statement of the Problem
The Topic
In 2013, according to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (2014),
approximately 8.2 percent of the United States population age 12 years or older, 21.6 million persons,
were classified with substance abuse or dependence. Longer patient treatment stays benefits patients
and society; however, against medical advice rates for substance abuse treatment facilities are high
despite the association between positive outcomes and treatment for substance users (Kosanke, 2000).
The change of behaviors exhibited by substance users is essential and key for positive treatment
outcomes (Mallows, 2014). The lack of substance abusers behavioral changes effects the completion
rates of treatment facilities

Case Study Of Zara s Influence On Knowledge Management
Zara Group study case
In this example can be seen how information and communication technologies (ICTs) influence on
knowledge management processes within organizations and its influence on innovation and co
learning. The use of ICTs is increasing because nowadays the business environment is becoming more
dynamic and complex and new strategic resources are needed for taking competitive advantages.
(Marƭa Teresa GARCƍA ƁLVAREZ, p.994)
The unit of analysis is the Zara Group, which belongs to the Spanish company Inditex. It is a very
global company which has been selected due to it does an intensive application of ICTs in its

The combined use of a series of ICTs has a positive effect on knowledge combination.
By periodical reports received from shop assistants over the Internet, with opinions, interests and
consumer preferences, and sent to the departments within the company, Zara adapts its outputs to the
real demand. Therefore, different sources of explicit knowledge are received for combining them and
creating new explicit knowledge. (Marƭa Teresa GARCƍA ƁLVAREZ, p.1000)
4. The combined use of a series of ICTs has a positive effect on knowledge internalization.
Zara has developed E Commerce which permits the sales of its outputs over the Internet and
moreover, it has a private Extranet where regulations can be found and to which suppliers have access
for finding the packing and labeling rules. (Marƭa Teresa GARCƍA ƁLVAREZ, p.1000)
In addition it has a foundation with other companies to have a permanent connection between
University and business for promoting the exchange of technology and information. Thus it allows
Zara employees to internalize the knowledge got in the documents or software used and convert it into
their own knowledge. (Marƭa Teresa GARCƍA ƁLVAREZ,

Childhood Is It Me Or Are The Kids Of Today
Is it me or are the kids of today getting older younger? Envision this: an eight year old girl watching
movies containing sex scenes; a 12 year old girl wearing slutty adult styled clothing accompanied with
a face caked with makeup ;and finally a 14 year old boy having unprotected sex, resulting in the girl
becoming pregnant. What happened... to kids just being kids?
The kids of today are growing up too quickly. With today s rapidly changing society, keeping children
children for a long time can be a very difficult. Kids need to be told: once you grow up there s no

The media can of course have good resources: education and entertainment, but at the same time can
be very toxic to kids. It can result in destructive mind sets and berserk attitudes in both boys and girls.
With the media, children are bombarded by sexual images, drugs and drinking day in and day out.
Popular children TV channels like Nickelodeon and the Disney channel have shows where kids are
kissing and showing small suggestions of sex. Kids are like sponges: they soak up everything they see,
hear and learn. Those in the media need to understand that whatever they do is being viewed by kids
all over the world and they are thinking it s okay to behave in an inappropriate manner. The media is
definitely one of the most dominant encouragements to the fast maturity seen in the children of today.
It is no surprise that with the whole new world of technology young children nowadays are becoming
more and more obsessive in this realm, both at school and at home. Due to the massive influence of
technology, children are learning more, forcing them to grow up quickly and take on a lot more than
past generations did. Research taken by Internet security company AVG shows that more small
children can play a computer game than ride a bike. 58% of children aged 2 5 know how to play a
basic computer game. For the UK and France that jumps to 70%. Even 44% of 2 3 year olds have the
ability to play a computer game. By comparison, 43% of kids 2 3 can ride a bike . These

Erikson s Theory Of Psychosocial Development
My Reflection of Erikson Erik Erikson was a developmental psychologist known for his theory of
psychosocial development. Unlike other theorists of his time Erikson s theory focused on human
development across the lifespan from birth to late adulthood. Erikson believed that development
change occurs throughout our lives in eight distinctive stages that emerge in a fixed pattern and are
similar for all people. Erikson argued that each stage presents a crisis or conflict which results in either
a positive or negative outcome (Feldman p.16). In this essay I will identify incidents in my own life
that demonstrate each stage of development according to Erikson that I have lived through. I will also
interview my Aunt Tami, who will share her experiences for the remainder of the stages of Erikson s
development that I have not gone through thus far. Erikson s first stage of development is the Trust
versus Mistrust stage that occurs from birth till 18 months of life. According to Erikson this is the
period in which infants develop a sense of trust or mistrust, depending largely on how well their
caregivers meet their needs (Feldman p. 187). During this stage of my life I was being taken care of by
both Mom and Dad, but primarily by Mom. My Mom was a stay at home parent while my Dad
worked. Both my parents went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed food, shelter,
clothes and most importantly love and affection. Through my positive experience in this stage I

The Difference between American and German Thinking
The way Germans and Americans think is totally opposite. Germans think deductively, and take a
scientific approach. On the other hand Americans tend to think inductively, they first form a goal and
figure out the details later. These styles but head because Germans often think of the American
approach as unrealistic. The negative side to the German thinking is that while are German is planning
an American may beat him to putting an item on the market. The Americans might not be 100 percent
error free but they got the product out first. Communication styles are also very different in the two
countries. Americans do not like to disagree with one another. They hardly ever tend to respond with
firm answers and try to beat around the bush and try to politely tell someone no. Germans like to
debate with each other when they are facing a problem. If a German disagrees with you they will be
sure that it is made know.
A difference between Germany and America is freedom vs. security. Americans believe in having
freedom even at the cost of sacrificing security. Germans on the other hand like to have security. They
like to be able to plan ahead for long periods of time. They find the fact that in the US a person can be
fired from their job for almost no reason at all very distressing. There is also a great difference in
freedom of speech in the two countries. For example in the US racist Nazi propaganda would be legal
where in Germany it is completely illegal. The American view is I

I believe that the impact generated by this element towards the entertainment industry is significant,
principally in music. As people may have witnessed, the music industry has been a direct victim of the
digital era and piracy, leaving many questions about what might happen and forcing industry experts,
labels, artists and entrepreneurs to re think their marketing strategies and re invent themselves. As a
result, Streaming services like Pandora, Apple ITunes Match or Spotify came to the world as several
options for music consumption, yet I believe they are artist unfriendly, especially for emerging acts.
When a user wants to subscribe into any of these services, they are required to enter their credit card
details. In the case of Spotify, artists earn the sum of 0.07 cents per streaming; this means that they
will need around 50.000 plays to get $3.500. Unfavorable...
Is the action of paying by credit card through streaming services becoming the executioner of physical

people s behavior, a behavior that has made undoubtedly an impact on the entertainment industry. On
the other hand, there is still the old fashioned way merged with a digital era creation: ITunes store.

The Effects Of Binge Drinking On College
One of my youth pastors told the teens at church on a Wednesday night, Don t start a habit in your
younger years that is going to control the way you live your adult years . Whenever I heard this
statement, I thought of teens binge drinking in college. College drinking has become a major issue for
people under the age of twenty one. Binge drinking becomes addicting, especially for people under the
age of twenty one. Understanding the problem and consequences of binge drinking will help to show
that lowering the drinking age will not help the problem. Binge drinking in college is when students
consume an excessive amount of alcohol in a short period of time. This can happen because of parties,
meeting new friends, even being in a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Along with binge drinking comes consequences. The most common cause for deaths in car accidents
is drinking and driving. In Roan s book, Roan states, In 1984, a federal standard was established
setting the minimum legal drinking age at 21. Since then, traffic fatalities among drivers ages 18 to 20
have fallen by an estimated 13%, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration
(Roan ). This statistic is one that shows how lowering the legal drinking age would not solve the
problem of binge drinking in college. Most people that are freshman in college start school at 18 or
19. As stated in the previous paragraph, these freshman attend parties or events with older people.
These students can be 21 or older and be able to buy alcohol. This can lead to underage drinking. If a
student does not live on campus, he or she will have to drive back to their house. They can be giving
friends a ride to wherever they need to go, or just driving around goofing off. If they have had an
excessive amount of alcohol, they can be endangering the lives of themselves, their friends lives, and
other people on the road. If they were to have a car accident, they could kill the other people in the
cars involved. They can then be charged with murder. Another consequence of binge drinking is
alcohol related death. In the same article by Roan, he talks about a

Personal Reflection Of Leadership In Learning At Richmond...
Throughout the month of October, I was presented with the opportunity to learn about Richmond
County Schools during our cohort synergy sessions and the required switch school residency
placement. This experience expanded my administrative horizon and opened my eyes to a different
educational model in our neighboring county. Along with the broadened LEA perspective, I also
gained a valuable experience at Monroe Avenue Elementary School in the areas of curriculum,
professional learning communities, and instructional practices. The greatest challenge I faced during
my switch period is a personal challenge; I am aware that I am an INTJ personality type and can
oftentimes be private, independent, reserved, and difficult to get to know. I am mindful that this could
lead to frustrations amongst staff members and make me less approachable. As a result of these
personality traits, it is my responsibility to be aware of the need to create connections with staff and
offer praise as needed. I made a considerable effort to make strong individual connections with
members of the school community during my weeks at Monroe Avenue Elementary School. Upon
reflection, the greatest lesson I learned through my switch experience is in the area of instruction. Mrs.
Terry, the principal at Monroe Avenue Elementary School, and Mrs. Swiney, the instructional coach
opened my eyes to critically observe instruction when conducting classroom walk throughs. It is
important to ensure that content

A. Nursing sensitive indicators
By understanding nursing sensitive indicators, the nurses in this case could improve the structure,
process, and outcomes of their nursing care. The structure of nursing care is indicated by the supply of
nursing staff and the skill level of the nursing staff. By the nurses having increased knowledge of the
issues hip fracture patients are prone to having, such as decrease mobility, increase need for surgical
intervention, and increase risk of falls, could help improve the quality of patient care. A patient with
decrease mobility is at higher risk for pressure sores. The nurses in this case may have prevented the

Now, the quality improvement department will need to determine what processes can be modified to
improve outcomes. For example, if they see an increase in pressure sores and prevalence of restraints.
They could use computerized charting and order entry, along with the evidence based guidelines, to
identify specific groups of patients who are vulnerable to developing pressure ulcers or closely
monitoring use of restraints. With early identification, automatic orders for preventive interventions
can be implemented quickly. With the assistance of the automated consults and orders, the appropriate
equipment, the interdisciplinary task force, continuing education, and monitoring, the hospital system
would be able to reduce unnecessary use of restraints and hospital acquired pressure ulcer prevalence
rate (Cherry amp; Jacob, 2010).
Then, they would need to implement core measures and protocols. Continuously track performance
and outcomes. Lastly, they can disseminate results to throughout the hospital to increase quality
improvement (Cherry amp; Jacob, 2010).
By educating staff on nursing sensitive indicators and the issues that need to be addressed, could
advance the quality of patient care throughout the hospital. In this case, educating hospital staff on
ways to prevent restraint use and pressure sore prevention, the staff could have possible prevented the
use of restraints and the pressure sore. Also, by educating staff on how to use restraints would be

We go to them, in the comfort of their home. This is because our clients are our clients because of

Pat Conroy Confessions Of An Ex-Catholic Analysis
The article Confessions of an Ex Catholic by Pat Conroy was about the speaker and how he describes

Ancient Greece Geography Essay
The geography of a country or civilization can define its culture including how they live. The Aztecs
use the rivers of the jungles to quickly move from village to village. In addition, the Britons with soft
hills and plains allow them to harvest wheat efficiently. However, the Greeks use their land and
geography is special ways that turned them into one of the most famous ancient civilizations. The
Greeks were able to utilize the sea as well as the mountains for trading, city state dividing, fishing,

together. The two clans were immediate family and extended family. In warm climates men were
mostly naked, but the women wore simple knee length skirts and blouses. In the colder climates they
would wear warm trousers and hooded anoraks. They would mostly wear animal skin from the
animals they hunted or raised. The Navajo Indians would also wear paintings on their body, or
permanent makings of a tattoo. The art on ones body would signify a persons age, social or material
status, or for men, their level of skill as a warrior. The Navajo Indians would also wear many jewelry
pieces. The Navajo Indians did not use silver jewelry until around 1870. The increase of silver jewelry
among the Navajo s at the time reflected the adaptation of these peoples to life as herds and
silversmiths on the newly established reservations. The Navajo Indians had to make their own
weapons, such as the bow and arrow. The bow and arrow was one of the main weapons to use to kill
animals. The Navajo Indians used other weapons like prayer sticks, claw dance stick, war shields,

Used To Know Interpretation
Taking a deeper look at Gotye s song, Somebody That I Used to Know, it can be assumed that Gotye s
need for dominance and obsession with the past is what causes his dysfunctional behavior. The two
protagonists, Gotye and Kimbra, went through a difficult split due to Gotye s destructive character.
Gotye wrote the paradox of Kimbra being right for him, but felt so lonely and unfulfilled in her
company. Ever since his last break up, he has felt very isolated, so for him to cease that feeling, he had
to find someone new. He may have liked Kimbra at first, but after a while he was just with her to show
his friends he wasn t alone. Gotye didn t want other people to see how he really is, because loneliness
equates to being weak, in his perspective. Along with that, Kimbra said that Gotye always had her

If his friends knew, or he admitted to himself that they both messed up, he would lose his masculinity

Kimbra thought that Gotye could let go of his ex, somebody that he used to know, but instead she
caught him in the act. He is stuck in the past and struggles with getting over it; hence he cheated on
Kimbra with his past lover. On the same note, Gotye calls Kimbra somebody that he used to know at
the end of the song, just like how Kimbra referred to his ex as. Now that Gotye and Kimbra treat each
other like strangers, Gotye s obsession with the past is going to keep being trouble for him. He shows
a confusing attitude towards Kimbra, the question of him being hurt or okay with the break up comes
to mind. He says that he doesn t need her because he wants to display male dominance. However, he
secretly is upset, based on him saying that Kimbra treating him like she never knew him felt harsh,

White Elephant Symbolism
The short story Hills Like White Elephant starts with detailed description of a train station in Spain
which turns into a dialog between an unmarried couple about an abortion. The story setting plays a big
role in how the characters will act and how they will express their feelings. Along with the setting
location, the time also plays an important role in the story. Hemingway uses a lot of symbols and
figurative language of speech, so the time of the story was not clear for most of the readers. However,
the story happened during the mid day during a very hot summer day which has a very important
symbolism in the story. The mid day represents that the day is not over, which symbolizes that they
not have made they decision. The couple were at a critical moment of their relationship, which is
when they must decide whether or not to have an abortion. Certain themes arise from this story such
as choices and their consequences, doubt and ambiguity. The hills across the valley of the Ebro were
long and white. On this side there was no shade and no trees and the station was between two lines of
rails in the sun. [...] The American and the girl with him sat at a table in the shade, outside the
building. It was very hot and the express from Barcelona would come in forty minutes. It stopped at
this junction for two minutes and went to Madrid (Page 176) The girl views having the child as a

Community Rating Is Not Economically Feasible
Community rating or risk equalization system would be regulated to provide equal service to any risk
level consumer. Insurance companies will be forced to under provide at lower costs or provide
standard service at rates that are unaffordable for many unless subsidized by government. Lower risk
beneficiaries will have to compensate for higher risk consumers making it financially unviable. These
would be issues in a normal competitive market, however in an ACA application, the concern for
market decisions or risk selection is void anyway. So community rating would probably be appropriate
in the type of policy.

In the specific case of healthcare and marginal product, this would be the quantity of medical services
divided by change in the variable input. With productivity rising to its optimal level, marginal
productivity will then equal average productivity and thus average productivity is maximized. An
example of this would be purchasing units of hospital beds. The more bed in inventory the more
production will be realized at a certain point. Then productivity would be diminished at a rate
specified above.
4) Compare the economic efficiency and the equity of financing national health care with a payroll tax
vs. an income tax The choice between taxing income versus taxing consumption is a key decision in
the policy determination. Both payroll tax and income tax are essentially taxation on an individual s
income, as one is shared by the employer. I believe the economic efficiency and equity of financing
suggests that the progressive financing of the health insurance system has limited implications for
overall income inequality.

Digital forensics is a fairly new science involving the collection and analysis of data from digital
devices. However, the evolution of technology into smaller, mobile devices has made it necessary for
the creation of mobile forensics. Mobile forensics is a subset of digital forensics, which is focused on
the preservation, acquisition, examination, analysis, and reporting of digital evidence from mobile
devices. Even though the digital forensics process can be utilized for mobile devices, the model is not
perfected. Gonzalez and Hung (2011) attribute this issue to the young age of mobile devices and the
different operating systems, communications protocols, and storage methods utilized. To comprehend
the challenges involved in conducting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Smartphones Smartphones are a mobile technology that utilizes an advanced operating system in
portable devices. Currently, the advanced operating systems employed on smartphones are IOS and
Android. IOS was developed by Apple and is exclusive to its mobile devices only. However, Android
is an open source operating system that is utilized by various smartphones on the market.
Nevertheless, current smartphones employing either operating system encompasses the capabilities of
a cell phone, camera, computer, mp3 player, external hard drive, GPS, and internet connection. This
collection of technology on one device makes it very advantageous for businesses and convenient for
individuals. According to Smith (2015), this is supported by the fact that 64% of American adults have
a smartphone for various tasks. Tablets Tablets are another mobile technology that uses an advanced
operating system. Additionally, they employ the same major operating systems (iOS and Android) as
the smartphones. As well as, offering the same technologies of a smartphone, but in a larger size.
However, these mobile devices have found greater employment by organizations to become more

Summary Of How To Touch A Bleeding Dog
Love can often cause people to adjust their lifestyle to another person s. How to Touch a Bleeding
Dog shows how a guy who once had a wife that he loved took care of one of her most precious
possessions. It s safe to say the average human being doesn t have to have mutual friendship (a
human) with the dog in order to like him/her. In this case however the main character from this short
story says that the dog is not his, but is his responsibility. This responsibility seemed to fall to him due
to the passing of his wife. One could even say he seems disconnected from the world from the
relationship that is seen between him and his dog. The dogs passing could be seen as a metaphor for
the Beth leaving her husband on his own to provide for himself, to take care of any possessions she
may have had, and to fight his depression alone. The main character is now having feelings of
loneliness and depression. The first paragraph states that inside is warm , and outside is cold , This
could be tied as symbolism of the fact that he is secluding himself from the world. When the dog
passed away the main character said that it s not my dog, but it s my responsibility , this can make the
reader think of all of the other responsibilities that the main character was left with. There are
definitely some parallels between the dog and Beth. They both end up being burdens on the main
character and leaving behind more for him to deal with. After the dog passes away the main character
says the blood on the carpet of the car is out of sight, and I will pretend it isn t there. And then there s
the touch. The touch can be seen as how the dog emotionally affected him by passing away. The dog
did bring sadness to the main characters life due to the memories the main character seemed to have
when he interacted with the dog. I watched my hand volunteer itself and run its finger through the nap
of his head . The way this sentence is put together makes it sound as if his caring for the dog was an
involuntary action. One would think that if the pet had a close connection to a person, and that person
has passed away that someone who misses the person that has passed may use the pet to help with the
loss. The main character s

An Audit Report On An Auditor
Introduction
An audit report is an opinion written by an auditor regarding the financial statements of an
organization. The report is prepared using a format that is standard and generally accepted. However,
there can be variations in the report; it only depends on the circumstances of the work and the
engagement of the auditor (Asare Wright pg. 198). An auditor s opinion can either be a clean opinion,
qualified opinion, adverse opinion or a disclaimer opinion. An honest opinion is given if the financial
statements show a fair representation of an organization s financial position. A qualified opinion is
offered if there were any limiting factors imposed on the work of the auditor. An adverse opinion is
delivered if there was a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With the two audit reports of 2014, and 2015 we can see that there was communication between both
parties that is the auditors and the accountants of the firm. The ISA was used as a guideline on how the
auditors communicated with the accountants by guiding the auditing team on the specific items that
needed communication with the governance group. This enabled both teams to understand matters that
related to audit and also was a base for a working relationship that was constructive. The auditors
focused on this ISA to ensure that they remained objective, transparent, and independent as they
conducted the audit of the financial statements of the enterprise and also the reporting of the audited
information (Andon O Dwyer, pg. 1400).
The audit reports of 2014 and 2015 use the ISA 570 where the auditor responsibility has to audit the
financial reports about how the management uses the going concern aspect when preparing the
financial statements. Therefore, the going concern assumption allows one to view a company as a
business that will continue with its operations in the future. Additionally, the management prepares
their financial reports using this assumption unless the organization intends to cease its operations or
liquidate their assets (Bhattacharyya, pg 20). Therefore, the auditors in both reports show that the
organization is going to continue with their transactions shortly because the assets together with the

Pieta In The Toilet Film Analysis
Terminal affliction dramas have been a long trope in films, with such classics like Love Story, Bright
Star, Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, Biutiful and Sunny; either handling the subject manner in an
understated manner or wringing all the dramatic juice out of it for all of its worth.
It is definitely used as an easy in for audience sympathy, which some filmmakers have taken
advantage of to the point that there have been some horrific films like My Sister s Keeper, P.S I Love
You, Restless and of course, Me Before You. Those are examples that are exploitative, insistent and
borderline offensive.
So, when I was planning to watch Pieta in the Toilet, I was a bit nervous as to how the film would turn
out. But I had an open mind when I read that the director of the film, Daishi Matsunaga, was a
documentary filmmaker who decided to make this film his first narrative feature. His background in
documentaries could be a positive factor in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is then that the two start an unlikely relationship that we gradually see that they might have more in
common than one would think.
Now how does the film rank alongside other terminal affliction entries? Pretty damn high, I must say.
Pieta in the Toilet is a seemingly simple story effectively told with fantastic direction, top notch
performances, a well written script and indescribable cinematography that is reminiscent of the
cinematography in Linda Linda Linda (both lensed by Ikeuchi Yoshihiro).
First off, the direction. As mentioned earlier, director Daishi Matsunaga had directed documentaries
before this; one being about an actual famous artist, and it clearly shows in his latest effort. Aiming for
the tone to be realistic yet extracting beauty throughout the mundane settings like a swimming pool or
a hospital, Matsunaga strikes the perfect balance that makes the film a lot more hopeful that one
would think of its grim

moving forward even when there s tough situations to make. One example, is she manages to re home
more than sixty dogs. Here are some things I ve learned about Faye and some things that you can learn
from me! When Faye started to volunteer at the shelter she decided to make a facebook page so people
can adopt the dogs. Another example is that Faye always grooms the puppies and photographs them
before she puts them on the facebook page. Therefore, Faye also posts the new dogs available each
week for adoption on her facebook page. Every Time Faye volunteers at the shelter, the shelter
receives 20 new dogs each week but some dogs still need re homing. A quote from a worker also from

Genesis 37-38 Analysis
Genesis 37 38 This is the introduction of Jacob/Israel s favorite son, Joseph. Joseph has multiple
dreams, which allude to a future where he will rule over all of his family members. Joseph s brothers,
who already despise Joseph, become even angrier after he tells them about his dreams. Instead of
murdering Joseph as they initially wanted, they sell him to Ishmaelites at Judah s advice and Joseph is
taken prisoner to Egypt. Chapter 38 is a sudden shift to Judah and his family after Joseph is sold into
slavery. A woman named Tamar marries Judah s firstborn, but after he dies she marries the second son.
He dies as well and Judah sends her away, fearing for the life of his youngest son, but promises that
she will marry his youngest son once he is old enough. Judah does not give Tamar to his youngest son
once he is old enough to marry, so Tamar takes matters into her own hands by tricking Judah into
sleeping with her. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Niditch focuses on the role of women in the period of the ancestral history and how it relates

objects, who do not have a rightful place in society if they are not married with children, or virgins in
their father s household. It is only after Tamar has children through Judah that she has claimed her

Militarism, Nationalism, And The Start Of The Alliance System
Militarism, nationalism, and the start of the alliance system between the great powers of the world in
the beginning of the 20th century caused an enormous conflict that shortly after turned to the First
World War. In late June 1914, Gavrilo Princip a Serbian nationalist assassinated Archduke Franz

history. The war was fought on different theaters by the world s greatest empires at that time. The
allies composed of the British and the French empires joined forces with mighty Russia against the
Central powers composed of Germany, Austria Hungary and the Ottoman Empire. In 1917, three years
after the war broke out, the Allies were joined by the United States which forced a quick defeat of the
Central Powers. The introduction of new weapon technology and trench warfare caused an
unimaginable amounts of destruction and deaths all over the content of Europe where most of the
fighting took place. By the time the Great War had ended in 1918, more than 9 million soldiers had
been killed and 21 million more injured. Many historians of the 20th Century blame the generals of
the Great War for the massive death toll, they lacked the ability to adapt to the new warfare tactics and

fronts, invading Belgium in the west in order to attack France and defending all of the Russian attacks

MySQL 1. What was the business model of MySQL?
Orignal Business model Originally, MySQL collected one time licensing revenues from original
equipment manufacturers (OEM) businesses. These were businesses that redistributed MySQL
embedded into their own products as in a standalone application. This was based on the dual license

Microsoft had already offered a zero price product for a long time, Sysbase, since 2004. Oracle had
acquired the two main transactional engines that MySQL could have used, namely Innobase and its
replacement Sleepycat. In a way it gave Oracle some control as a partner with MySQL.
Increasing competition: New open source database startups such as db4o leveraged open source
community for development, marketing and sales and hence enjoyed an extremely low cost structure.
This enabled them to expand their customer base in enterprise domain. Some closed source databases
became open source. Eg: Cloudscape from IBM. This further increased the competition. 3. What is the
current status of MySQL?
MySQL status in 2006: Though it had 8 million active installations and 50,000 downloads per day,
only 1 in 1000 productive installations ended up as paid MySQL customer. In April 2006, Oracle
renewed the contract between InnoBase and MySQL in a multi year agreement, effectively becoming
a MySQL partner. Mickos sees growth opportunities and plans to raise sales upto $ 100 million and to
go public by 2008. Oracle clearly recognizes MySQL as its competitor though battle lines are a bit
blurry in MySQL camp. CEO Mickos looks at Oracle as too big to be considered as a competitor
while EVP of Sales, Burton, sees them as competitor only in select markets like Large Enterprise
category.

Buffalo Bill Wild West Summary
The westward expansion of American citizens was a progressive action that helped the nation to move
forward during the mid eighteen hundreds. The land that was being claimed came to be known as the
frontier and few people settled there due to the perceived threat of Indians and what they thought was
a lack of economic opportunity. This land was taken over by farmers and herders that controlled
buffalo and used the fertile soil to make a living. The story of Buffalo Bill s Wild West: Celebrity,
Memory, and Popular History shows how a man can start with nothing and grow to be a publicly
recognized figure. The author of this story, Joy S. Kasson, recounts Buffalo Bill s life and the
decisions he made along the way along with how the actions he took affected the events around him.
This story, that takes a biographic approach, tells of Buffalo Bill s influence in society as a showman
and in the perceived image of the wild west during this time.
What were the author s main claims and how did she defend them? The author claims that William
Cody, also known as Buffalo Bill, found success through luck and that his success was very fortunate
and highly unlikely. In the biography the author writes, In the process of becoming an international
celebrity, Cody both followed and diverged from familiar pathways in the search for success and
respectability that led many others to debt, obscurity, and failure (page 12). Cody s experiences and
decisions would not seem to lead to such

The bottom of the claw is transparent to allow visualization of milk flow.
When milking is completed the vacuum to the milking unit is shut off and the teatcups are removed
Milking machines keep the milk enclosed and safe from external contamination. The interior milk
contact surfaces of the machine are kept clean by a manual or automated washing procedure
implemented after milking is completed twice or three times per day.
Milk contact surfaces must comply with regulations ensuring that they are food grade materials
(typically stainless steel and special plastics and rubber compounds) and are easily cleaned.
Most milking machines are powered by electricity but, in case of electrical failure, there can be an
alternative means of motive power, often an internal combustion engine, for the vacuum and milk
pumps because milking cows cannot tolerate delays in their scheduled milking without suffering
serious milk production

There are several reasons why cooperative learning works well. The idea that students learn more by
doing something active than by simply watching and listening has long been known to both cognitive
psychologists and effective teachers (Bransford, et. al., 2000) and cooperative learning is by its nature
an active method. Beyond that, cooperation enhances learning in several ways. Weak students working
individually are likely to give up when they get stuck; working cooperatively, they keep going. Strong
students faced with the task of explaining and clarifying material to weaker students often find gaps in
their own understanding and fill them in. Students working alone may tend to delay completing
assignments or skip them altogether, but when they know that others are counting on them, they are
motivated to do the work in a timely manner. This study is an opportunity to enhance the researcher s
knowledge of cooperative learning and examine the effect of cooperative learning groups in
promoting a deeper understanding of the Grade 7 mathematics curriculum. The students will be
gradually switched from a direct instruction approach to a cooperative learning environment. Groups
will be formed based on past grades of students from different ability levels working together. Many
teachers, including those who teach mathematics, are sure to benefit from this research.

  • 2. The Education System Of Education Essay There s a lot going on in today s society from the election, roads, taxes, even killer clowns. I m going to talk about today s education system. Since the education being taught in the schools is for the generations to come. People need education to have a stable life in this country, to get a good job, and to support themselves financially. Therefore, are need to improve education overall. First, the students being taught in the classes are based on technology. We already know how technology is carrying how students perform in education. But in education today kids and students are surrounded by it. When I was elementary or even middle school there was no such thing as an Ipad or a Chromebook. The school board is making students feel like it s a necessity to have in class everyday. I see kids at the age of 6 or 7 asking for their Ipad or chromebook for homework. I ask myself is this really how the school board wants to teach the future generation of students? Students are so used to using PowerPoint and Word at such a young age. Secondly, the lack of teachers and the lack of people who want to be teachers is creating problems. Teachers have been going on strike in different committees in the US. The most this class would know about is how Mchenry high schools teachers went on strike. We don t pay our teachers enough for what they do. The teachers in the US barely make enough to live a nice live. Overall I think we should pay teachers as much as doctors because a doctor ... The use of ICTs is increasing because nowadays the business environment is becoming more dynamic and complex and new strategic resources are needed for taking competitive advantages. (MarĆa Teresa GARCƍA ƁLVAREZ, p.994) The unit of analysis is the Zara Group, which belongs to the Spanish company Inditex. By periodical reports received from shop assistants over the Internet, with opinions, interests and consumer preferences, and sent to the departments within the company, Zara adapts its outputs to the real demand. Therefore, different sources of explicit knowledge are received for combining them and creating new explicit knowledge. (MarĆa Teresa GARCƍA ƁLVAREZ, p.1000) 4. • 5. Childhood Is It Me Or Are The Kids Of Today Is it me or are the kids of today getting older younger? Envision this: an eight year old girl watching movies containing sex scenes; a 12 year old girl wearing slutty adult styled clothing accompanied with a face caked with makeup ;and finally a 14 year old boy having unprotected sex, resulting in the girl becoming pregnant. What happened... to kids just being kids? The kids of today are growing up too quickly. With today s rapidly changing society, keeping children children for a long time can be a very difficult. Kids need to be told: once you grow up there s no going back. Childhood provides time for kids to learn important relationship and life skills. I for one wish I had my childhood back, I reminisce life being so easy, so ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The media can of course have good resources: education and entertainment, but at the same time can be very toxic to kids. It can result in destructive mind sets and berserk attitudes in both boys and girls. With the media, children are bombarded by sexual images, drugs and drinking day in and day out. Popular children TV channels like Nickelodeon and the Disney channel have shows where kids are kissing and showing small suggestions of sex. Kids are like sponges: they soak up everything they see, hear and learn. Those in the media need to understand that whatever they do is being viewed by kids all over the world and they are thinking it s okay to behave in an inappropriate manner. The media is definitely one of the most dominant encouragements to the fast maturity seen in the children of today. It is no surprise that with the whole new world of technology young children nowadays are becoming more and more obsessive in this realm, both at school and at home. Due to the massive influence of technology, children are learning more, forcing them to grow up quickly and take on a lot more than past generations did. • 6. Erikson s Theory Of Psychosocial Development My Reflection of Erikson Erik Erikson was a developmental psychologist known for his theory of psychosocial development. Unlike other theorists of his time Erikson s theory focused on human development across the lifespan from birth to late adulthood. Erikson believed that development change occurs throughout our lives in eight distinctive stages that emerge in a fixed pattern and are similar for all people. Erikson argued that each stage presents a crisis or conflict which results in either a positive or negative outcome (Feldman p.16). In this essay I will identify incidents in my own life that demonstrate each stage of development according to Erikson that I have lived through. I will also interview my Aunt Tami, who will share her experiences for the remainder of the stages of Erikson s development that I have not gone through thus far. Erikson s first stage of development is the Trust versus Mistrust stage that occurs from birth till 18 months of life. According to Erikson this is the period in which infants develop a sense of trust or mistrust, depending largely on how well their caregivers meet their needs (Feldman p. 187). During this stage of my life I was being taken care of by both Mom and Dad, but primarily by Mom. My Mom was a stay at home parent while my Dad worked. Both my parents went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed food, shelter, clothes and most importantly love and affection. On the other hand Americans tend to think inductively, they first form a goal and figure out the details later. These styles but head because Germans often think of the American approach as unrealistic. The negative side to the German thinking is that while are German is planning an American may beat him to putting an item on the market. The Americans might not be 100 percent error free but they got the product out first. Communication styles are also very different in the two countries. Americans do not like to disagree with one another. They hardly ever tend to respond with firm answers and try to beat around the bush and try to politely tell someone no. Germans like to debate with each other when they are facing a problem. If a German disagrees with you they will be sure that it is made know. A difference between Germany and America is freedom vs. security. Americans believe in having freedom even at the cost of sacrificing security. Germans on the other hand like to have security. They like to be able to plan ahead for long periods of time. They find the fact that in the US a person can be fired from their job for almost no reason at all very distressing. There is also a great difference in freedom of speech in the two countries. For example in the US racist Nazi propaganda would be legal where in Germany it is completely illegal. The Effects Of Binge Drinking On College One of my youth pastors told the teens at church on a Wednesday night, Don t start a habit in your younger years that is going to control the way you live your adult years . Binge drinking becomes addicting, especially for people under the age of twenty one. In Roan s book, Roan states, In 1984, a federal standard was established setting the minimum legal drinking age at 21. Since then, traffic fatalities among drivers ages 18 to 20 have fallen by an estimated 13%, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (Roan ). This statistic is one that shows how lowering the legal drinking age would not solve the problem of binge drinking in college. Most people that are freshman in college start school at 18 or 19. As stated in the previous paragraph, these freshman attend parties or events with older people. These students can be 21 or older and be able to buy alcohol. This can lead to underage drinking. If a student does not live on campus, he or she will have to drive back to their house. They can be giving friends a ride to wherever they need to go, or just driving around goofing off. If they have had an excessive amount of alcohol, they can be endangering the lives of themselves, their friends lives, and other people on the road. If they were to have a car accident, they could kill the other people in the cars involved. They can then be charged with murder. Another consequence of binge drinking is alcohol related death. Throughout the month of October, I was presented with the opportunity to learn about Richmond County Schools during our cohort synergy sessions and the required switch school residency placement. This experience expanded my administrative horizon and opened my eyes to a different educational model in our neighboring county. Along with the broadened LEA perspective, I also gained a valuable experience at Monroe Avenue Elementary School in the areas of curriculum, professional learning communities, and instructional practices. The greatest challenge I faced during my switch period is a personal challenge; I am aware that I am an INTJ personality type and can oftentimes be private, independent, reserved, and difficult to get to know. I am mindful that this could lead to frustrations amongst staff members and make me less approachable. As a result of these personality traits, it is my responsibility to be aware of the need to create connections with staff and offer praise as needed. I made a considerable effort to make strong individual connections with members of the school community during my weeks at Monroe Avenue Elementary School. Upon reflection, the greatest lesson I learned through my switch experience is in the area of instruction. In this case however the main character from this short story says that the dog is not his, but is his responsibility. This responsibility seemed to fall to him due to the passing of his wife. One could even say he seems disconnected from the world from the relationship that is seen between him and his dog. The dogs passing could be seen as a metaphor for the Beth leaving her husband on his own to provide for himself, to take care of any possessions she may have had, and to fight his depression alone. The main character is now having feelings of loneliness and depression. The first paragraph states that inside is warm , and outside is cold , This could be tied as symbolism of the fact that he is secluding himself from the world. When the dog passed away the main character said that it s not my dog, but it s my responsibility , this can make the reader think of all of the other responsibilities that the main character was left with. The idea that students learn more by doing something active than by simply watching and listening has long been known to both cognitive psychologists and effective teachers (Bransford, et. al., 2000) and cooperative learning is by its nature an active method. Beyond that, cooperation enhances learning in several ways. Weak students working individually are likely to give up when they get stuck; working cooperatively, they keep going. Strong students faced with the task of explaining and clarifying material to weaker students often find gaps in their own understanding and fill them in. Students working alone may tend to delay completing assignments or skip them altogether, but when they know that others are counting on them, they are motivated to do the work in a timely manner. This study is an opportunity to enhance the researcher s knowledge of cooperative learning and examine the effect of cooperative learning groups in promoting a deeper understanding of the Grade 7 mathematics curriculum.
