(A Case Study Of NTUC Income, The Siloed, Legacy System
Introduction
A case study of NTUC Income, the siloed, legacy systems, the segregated processes, and all associated
challenges, are mirrored closely based on anecdotal evidence and first hand experience in the Irish
banking sector today.
Many of these struggles are still to be over come and lessons may be taken from the experiences of
NTUC Income in the overhaul of their business.
Issues
The accompanying table, Table 1, provides a summary of the core issues facing NTUC Income in their
old, legacy structure, the associated impacts of these issues, and the steps taken to remedy them in
their upgraded platform and business structure.
A high level summary of the issues facing the business is as follows:

It was 8 years following their IT transformation that NTUC were able to rollout their Orange strategy,

With the advent of Big Data and improved analytics, there may be insights to be gained by banks into
customer activities and how best they can be served by their banks, with new products, or cross
industry offerings such as loyalty schemes and discounts with retailers, supermarket chains, etc.
However, such insights cannot be achieved without the foundation of data underpinning them. This
may take years to compile but also relies on centralised, single view of customer solutions, and a
cultural change to ensure that all relevant data is captured by the business (e.g. customer interactions
in a CRM systems).

The Chapel Bridge was built in 1365 and was re built again after fire in 1993. It attracts many tourists.
Travelers and tourists from other countries come to see them and are very impressive by the scenes,
castles and Alps. These scenes not only make the country beautiful, but also very attractive to the
travelers and tourists. This is why Switzerland is a great place for travelling.
Culture
Switzerland is a nation of full of traditions. There are over 100 fun and enjoyable holidays and
festivals through out the year for celebrating foods, religions, and fall harvest. The Swiss peoples love
and enjoy gathering and celebrating festivals and holidays with their families and friends.
The wine and cheese festivals are very common and celebrate few times a year. The music festivals
are mostly held in summer. The national day is at the first of August, it is celebrated by having fire
works, concerts and yodeling. The Christmas in Switzerland is very special. Santa Clause will give out
candies and presents to the people on the street. The Swiss decorate the houses, sing carols, wrap
presents, bake cookies, and go to the church. All these make this cold and windy season full of joy and
peace. The Basler Fasnatch is another festival, which lasted for 3 days. It starts at 4:00am at the

Animal Performers Research Paper
The Truth Behind Animal Performers If someone was repeatedly hit, stabbed and whipped for the sake
of entertainment, would we sit and watch? If someone was snatched from his family and home, for the
sake of entertainment, would we promote it? If someone s well being, happiness and health was
ignored for the sake of entertainment, would we allow it? These are the conditions thousands of
animals have to endure everyday. If they aren t acceptable for humans, they aren t acceptable for
animals. While many may believe animals in entertainment attractions are well taken care of, they are
abused daily and are forced to perform.
On August 20, 1994, Tyke the female circus elephant snapped from many years of abuse. During a

In their study, they found that two to four million visiting tourists financially supported attractions that
contribute to large scale animal abuse. Also, they discovered that 80 percent of TripAdvisor reviewers
did not realize that the attractions were not animal friendly (Bale 2015). Only wildlife sanctuaries,
involving 1,500 13,000 animals, were inclined to have positive effects on the animals welfare. On the
contrary, the welfare of 230,00 to 550,000 animals kept at other attractions were negatively affected (
Global Scale 2015). However, it is possible for these depressing numbers of abuse to decrease. If more
of us are aware of the exploitation of entertainment animals, we can either advocate for better
treatment or shun such entertainment. This could cause the demand for such shows to decrease. It
would also motivate show owners to stop using animals, eliminating unfair treatment for thousands of

Great Pacific Garbage Patch
For my service event, I attended a beach cleanup event in Indianola, which is in Kitsap County. When
I arrived, I met with twenty other participants and received instructions from a local community
member. We were given gloves, large orange plastic bags, smaller plastic bags, and flags. The larger
bags were for the garbage we collected, the smaller bags were for recyclable items (such as aluminum
cans and glass bottles), and the flags were for needles and similar items that we could not collected
safely. We divided into two group and headed in opposite directions up the beach to collect all the
debris we could find. Over my stretch of beach, I mostly found Styrofoam and a wide variety of
plastics including water bottles, lighters, pens, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, beyond that, this is a subject that is of great importance to me. My long term goal is to
become a marine biologist and as such the health of the ocean is of the utmost importance to me. Over
the last few years I have chosen to research and write about environmental issue. One of the main
issues I researched was the Great Pacific Garbage Patch and how plastics in the ocean affect marine
life. Because of that, I understand the true impact that any debris, and particularly plastics, have in the
ocean. They entangle animals, hinder their digestion, and transport of invasive species, to name just
some examples. For these reasons, I believe that preventing debris from entering the ocean is
paramount. I realize that participating in one beach cleanup is not going to save the ocean and the real
problem lies in how humanity is using plastics. However, I want to help contributions the wellbeing of
the ocean. Ultimately, that is why I participated in a beach cleanup event. Furthermore, Indianola is
close to my home, so I was not only benefitting the ocean, but my local community as well. While I
cannot solve the ocean garbage problem, I would like to be part of the solution, not the problem.
Participating in beach cleanup events is my way of doing

C. Control and effectiveness of the communication systems for health and safety going out of the

A. Evaluation of health and safety information
1.1 Evaluation of new health and safety legislation, codes of practice and other integral health and
safety updates are the key to a successful safety management system. As I have mentioned in unit 501,
there is no such thing as a health and safety expert, maybe in their specific fields but certainly not in
all areas. This is why at Berwin Industrial Polymers Ltd (BIP) all avenues of information concerning
health and safety information are explored and used.
The main sources of information that I have used as reference points and researched to build the SMS
have been utilised in many industries for many years, organisations such as the Health and Safety
Executive for example, where the required regulatory standards are easily sourced, even if you are
unfamiliar with the regulation, typing in the problem in the search engine will usually find the
required information or legislation. The Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations

Energy Systems In Touch Football
1.0 Introduction
This report focusses on the 3 energy systems of fitness before relating them to touch football. Touch
football is a simple but fast paced game, where the main objective is for one team to score more tries
then their opponent. Scoring a tri is achieved by placing the ball in the opponents tri zone . Played on
a 70m long by 50m wide field over a 45 minute time period, the game consists on two 20 minutes
blocks of play with a five minute half time break.
2.0 Three energy systems
Energy is defined as the capacity for vigorous activity, and to ensure a continuous and sufficient
supply of energy for all daily activities, there are three energy systems that work together. These
systems are the ATP PC system, the anaerobic glycolytic system and the aerobic system. Each system
produces a different chemical energy from different sources at different speeds. Both the ATP CP
system and anaerobic glycolytic systems are anaerobic systems, meaning oxygen is not used to
synthesise ATP. As a result, these systems produce energy quicker however they do not last very long.
Comparatively, the aerobic system heavily relies on oxygen to synthesise ATP. As the chemical
process uses oxygen to produce energy, it is more complex than the anaerobic processes. The aerobic
system takes longer to produce energy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Aerobic capacity can be defined as the ability to persist in physical activities that rely on oxygen to
keep producing energy to fuel the whole body for an extended period of time. Aerobic capacity uses
the aerobic energy system, a system that is used for long term energy and has unlimited amounts. As
the middles role is to align and drive their team both forward and backwards, they must have a strong
aerobic base to rely on. A game of forty minutes requires a long duration of energy and almost 20% of
a touch game uses the aerobic energy

Bias In 12 Angry Men
The movie 12 Angry Men, directed by Sidney Lumet, introduces twelve jury members each one
coming from a different background. The experiences and personalities of these men play a critical
element in the first majority vote in deciding the verdict of guilty or not guilty. Juror #3, #10, and #11
were very influential in that their opinions and thoughts on the case were determined by their own
personal bias. Therefore, a person s behavior, opinions, and thoughts are reflected on how that person
feels on the inside. Juror #3 is against the boy that is being tried and very biased towards him; this
results in how he acts during the meeting and what his thoughts are regarding the case. This bias is
due to an argument he had with his own son who punched him in the jaw and ran away from home: I

I hate tough kids! You work your heart out. We can get a lot from this juror in that he condemns
teenagers and has resentment towards them. Since the boy was born and raised in the bad part of the
city, it gave Juror #3 more reason to vote guilty because he is biased against people who live in the
slums. Juror #10 divides and segregates people stereotypically into them and us . Us being middle
class or rich people living in the city, and them being poor people or of a different skin color or race,
born and raised in the slums. Since the boy lived in such a place he was obviously a victim to violence
and crime so, Juror #10 was biased against him from the beginning. Also, the boy being Hispanic
placed him on the discriminatory list of what makes a criminal. This is further proven when juror #10
says: They don t need any real big reason to kill someone, either. You know, they get drunk, and bang,
someone s lying in the gutter... most of them, it s like they have no feelings. Because he believes all of
this, this juror is second to last in changing his vote. Juror #11 is from Europe and has faced injustice
and many hardships along the

Communication. Communication scholar Mark Knapp and social psychologist and
martial therapist John Gottam have turned to studying couples through all stages of their
relationship, whether they are in happy or unhappy relationships, to find the solution and
explanation to communication characteristic traits that many couples have developed
while dating that have or will carry over into a possible marriage. In this case study, I will
be focusing on two examples of how romantic relationships vary in how they handle
conflict, through looking at Validating couples and Hostile couples.

(Sahuquillo 2007). Brain injury is normally thought of in terms of primary and secondary insults. First
published in the 1970 s this remains a useful concept as it differentiates between the unavoidable
irreversible primary injury and the potentially avoidable secondary one (Adams 1977). Primary brain
injury occurs immediately at the time of injury, whereas secondary injury is a cascade of events that
contributes to intracranial hypertension resulting in a reduction in cerebral perfusion pressure and
ischaemia (Marmarou 1991). The cerebral perfusion pressure (CPP) is determined by the Monro
Kellie hypothesis. In closed head injuries, the skull has a fixed volume and the pressure within it is
determined by the equilibrium between the CPP, the mean arterial pressure (MAP) and the intracranial
pressure (ICP) using the equation: CPP = MAP − ICP Therefore, assuming a constant blood pressure,
as ICP rises CPP must fall. Minimising the ICP, should minimise ischaemia and brain damage
resulting from localised pressure thus leading to a global increase in perfusion and therefore oxygen
delivery to the brain. There is class I evidence that cooling to a mild hypothermic state of ≤35oC
reduces intracranial hypertension by limiting cerebral oedema. In addition it is thought that moderate
hypothermia of 33oC

Kartagener s Syndrome Research Paper
Kartagener s Syndrome (PCD)
Structure and Function: The cilia organelles are found in eukaryotic cells. Cilia are made up of
microtubule based cytoskeleton called the axoneme and multiple proteins. The function of the cilia is
to keep passageways clear of any mucus and foreign particles. 38
The disease and how the organelle malfunctions: Kartagener s syndrome is a rare hereditary genetic
disorder. This disorder affects the respiratory tract, middle ear, fallopian tube, and the flagella of
sperm cells. This disorder starts in the embryologic phase of development. The diagram shows you the

The lack of movement causes there to be little to no mucus clearance in the lungs. One symptom of
Kartagener s syndrome is chronic or recurrent respiratory diseases. The respiratory diseases start off
when the patient is young, but as the patient gets older the respiratory diseases get worse. These
diseases cause progressive damage to the respiratory system. Some other symptoms of Kartagener s
syndrome is hearing loss and loss of smell. Hearing loss and loss of smell is due to the buildup of
mucus in the respiratory tract. 104
Diagnosis and prognosis: The earliest that this disorder can be diagnosed at is birth, if the newborn
experiences respiratory distress or needs respiratory therapy. Kartagener s syndrome is most often
diagnosed in early childhood. If the child has recurring ear infections, chronic sinusitis, or chronic
respiratory infections with no obvious cause the doctor will then check for PCD or Kartagener s
syndrome. There are several different ways that a doctor can diagnose you for Kartagener s syndrome.
One way to test for Kartagener s syndrome is to do a breathing test. People with this disease breath out
less nitric oxide. Other ways are to do a tissue biopsy, semen analysis, or imaging scans. The disease
causes you to be vulnerable to all different types of respiratory diseases. People with Kartagener s
syndrome can have multiple respiratory diseases

Apple iPod from Business Perspective Essay
Technology has changed in the terms of portable music and with the invention of the Apple iPod in
2001, the ease and accessibility to download and listen to music has never been easier. Apple has
developed a device that weighs no more than 6.2 ounces (and as few as 3.6 ounces) and can hold up to
10,000 songs. Despite the weak market overall, the market for digital media is undeniably hot and
barring a consumer spending meltdown, it should stay that way. In light of current computer market

Computer Mediated Communication Analysis
Computer mediated communication is a ubiquitous feature of modern life. Whether the
communication is through Facebook, Twitter, email, instant messaging (IM), or such media as massive
multiplayer online role playing games (MMORPGs,) the ability for human beings to communicate
across time and culture is unprecedented in history. Never before have people been able to
communicate so freely with strangers around the world. However, it lacks at least one critical aspect
of face to face interaction: nonverbal communication. Therefore, it is imperative that we continue to
find more and more ways to approximate the nonverbal cues provided by speaking in person.
Nonverbal communication, loosely defined as all parts of communication other than ... Show more

Nearly everyone has experienced the frustration of writing a carefully crafted email which has
subsequently been misinterpreted by the recipient. Michael Duffy writes, speaking of interacting with
clients via email, Comments in e mail form are often seen as curt and sometimes harsh. Without that
interaction when the client is explaining her comments, the smallest, most benign suggestion can
escalate to a crisis before you know it. And soon you ll assume the client wants to change the whole
creative direction rather than simply make a minor tweak. (Duffy) So, robbed of the nonverbal cues (a
shrug, a shake of the head,) which indicate that the suggestion is indeed small and benign, the email
comes off as harsh and demanding. Email interaction is just one of many forms of computer mediated
communication. Often, people use a combination of many forms, such as instant messaging, texting,
email, and chat to communicate online. In fact, in a survey by advertising giant Euro RSCG
Worldwide, half of the respondents said they knew someone whose dating or marriage relationship
started online (Friedman.) Match.com, a popular dating website, had over twenty million active
members in 2008 (Match.com.) So it seems quite possible to at least begin a meaningful relationship
over the internet, but it seems that it s not beneficial to rely on online only relationships too heavily. In
studies, it has been shown that

The Battle of Hastings
The Battle of Hastings Why Did William Win?
On the 14th of October 1066, Duke William of Normandy defeated King Harold at the Battle of
Hastings. His win could be summed up by the fact that William was a better leader. Other factors that
contributed to William s victory include: William was better prepared, the English army was severely
weakened as Harold had just fought off an invasion in the North of England, and Harold made a fatal
mistake of prematurely entering the Battle of Hastings.
William was a better leader because although Harold had the upper hand in the battle and they were
losing, William managed to outwit and defeat the English. In the Bayeux Tapestry there is a scene
depicting that in the days preceding the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although he was victorious in both of them, his troops were exhausted and did not have sufficient
energy to perform at their best. At the beginning of the battle, he managed get a good advantage he
positioned his troops on top of a hill, making it difficult for William to get to his army and attack him.
However, towards the end of the battle, William set a trap to draw Harold from his strong position and
he fell for it. Once they were on even ground, Harold s exhausted troops could not counter the attacks
from William s well trained and nourished army.
The biggest mistake Harold made was entering the Battle of Hastings too early. Harold lost some of
his best fighters at the Battle of Stamford Bridge earlier that day and the rest of his army were tired
out from their previous battle. When they finally arrived in the South, he was overconfident that he
could win this battle because of his recent victories. Because of his misjudgement, he decided to rush
into battle with exhausted and unprepared troops. Towards the end of the battle, he fell for the trap that
William had set, seeing as he was tired and his troops couldn t wait to finish them off and get a good
rest. If he had given his army only a few days rest and fed them like William had to his troops, his
chances of winning the battle would have been a lot higher.

Why Was Germany Most Significant Influential Country...
Why was Germany most significant influential country during World Wars even after losing World
War I and World War II?

Kinjal Shah

University of Massachusetts Lowell
Abstract:
Germany s Role in both World War had been pivotal and there are several reasons to why that
happened and various facts to support the idea that it had influenced whole of the Europe. Hitler was
appointed chancellor by the President of Weimar republic on 30 January 1933. The Nazi Party then
began to eliminate all political opposition and consolidate its power. Hindenburg died on 2 August
1934, and Hitler became dictator of Germany by merging the powers and offices of the Chancellery

Germany was on with France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Serbia and Russia. This fact proves how
powerful Germany had been to invade all these countries in the same year. Russia on the other hand
was a huge force but still Germany was powerful enough to tackle military combat over Russia.
Germany had been center of war in all of the Europe. But as the World WAR I was ending Germany
lost the war because of the alliance of France, Britain, Russia and Belgium. Germany was then
declared guilty of war and had to pay heavy reparations. (John Mosier (2004), Myths of Great War,
pp.124 127, perennial books, Harper Collins Publications)
Treaty of Versailles:
World War I officially ended with the signing of the Treaty of Versailles on June 28, 1919. After strict
enforcement for five years, the French assented to the amendment of important comestibles. Germany
agreed to pay reparations under the Dawes Plan and the Young Plan, but those plans were cancelled in
1932, and Hitler s rise to power and subsequent actions rendered moot the remaining terms of the
treaty. The Allies wrote the treaty, converted between January and June 1919 in Paris, with almost no
participation by the Germans. The negotiations exposed a split between the French, who wanted to
dismember Germany to make it impossible for it to renew war with France, and the British and
Americans, who did not want to create excuses for a new war. The treaty included fifteen parts and

many believe that people came to America in seeking refuge from religious discrimination, there was

The God Of Small Things And Chemmeen
What makes people who they are? From a young age, cultural rules that outline the expectations of a
person in their society are instilled in a person s mind . They are molded by their fundamental role in
their society and continually adhere to that role throughout their lives. They can t over cross those
boundaries. The different roles assigned to a person by society influences their identity through their
life. The characters of The God of small things and Chemmeen are an example of how breaking these
cultural values can go well, as well as disastrously. The characters Ammu, Velutha, and Karuthamma
struggle to follow these societal codes of their community and this undoubtedly leads to their demise.
For my paper, I will display to you how one s community can influence one s occupation, social
graces, relationships, and all in all, their whole lives. In The God of small things Ammu is from a
village called Ayemenem. She is the daughter of Pappachi and Mammachi and the sister of Chacko.
Chacko, being the son of the family, and the future man of the house was allowed to go far to get an
education, while Ammu was left with her abusive and drunkard father. Her father believed that a
college education was an unnecessary expense for a girl. (Roy). Ammu became desperate to leave the
nest so she wanted to find a husband and get married quickly. She had the thought of using it as an
escape from Ayemenem, her father, and her life. She soon meets and becomes a bride to Babu,

Bill Of Rights, The Center Of The American Constitution
Bill of Rights Bill of rights, the center of the American constitution.
The reason that why Bill of rights can be established is the anti federalist thought the constitution only
stipulated that power from government, and the citizen can not get any power from it. In 1788, at the
beginning of the United States, all the citizens want the freedom and democracy, then The Bill of
Rights is here. The birth of the Bill of Rights, is the most basic principles of personal freedom and
limited the central government.
There have ten amendments in Bill of Rights, in my point of view, the first and the tenth amendments
is the most important. The first amendment is talk about the freedom and the tenth amendments is
about decentralization. Then i will give some reasons.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise
thereof or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to
assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. First amendment talked more
about the freedom and separate religion. The freedom is include: the freedom of religion, of speech, of
publish,of assembly, of demonstration, these five freedoms.
The case that i want to mention is New York Times v. Sullivan . At March 29th 1960, New York Times

Negative Impact Of World Bank Structural Adjustment Program
NEGATIVE IMPACTS OF WORLD BANK S STRUCTURAL ADJUSTMENT PROGRAM (SAP)
IN GHANA
INTRODUCTION:
Writing about the negative impacts of The World Bank Structural Adjustment Program in Ghana, my
country of origin is something I can do with my eyes closed, because being an ordinary Ghanaian,
born and raised in Ghana, I do not need a research to know what these institutions have done to the
developing countries they impose their ill intended programs on. Even the blind can feel hunger, lack
of access to good health care, high tariffs on basic utilities such as electricity and water which is as a
result of privatization. This paper is going to highlight on the negative impacts of the World Bank s
sponsored Structural Adjustment Program implemented by the government of Ghana from 1982 to
2008.
STRUCTURAL ADJUSTMENT PROGRAM 1982 2008
This is what a researcher could say about this program to paint the big picture for readers, Clearly, the
World Bank s structural adjustment of Ghana is a textbook example of how to ruin a country. The
ruthless denial of mineral wealth, food, medical care, education and even water has made the
population destitute spectators to the plunder of Ghana by foreigners. (Ismi. July, 2004).
This program has been repackaged and renamed over the period under different government
administrations but they say a decorated donkey is still an ass. At the beginning under the PNDC/NDC
administration it was called The Structural Adjustment Program which aim was

Aung San Suu Kyi influenced the people of Myanmar or Burma, which is East of India. The People of
Myanmar were influenced by her because she spoke up against the harsh rule of dictator U Ne Win
without using violent actions. Suu Kyi became the General Secretary of a new democratic party called
National League of Democracy (NLD). This position helped Suu Kyi speak up against U Ne Win
because of her political power. Being the daughter of someone who influenced Myanmar, former
Commander of the Burma (Myanmar) Independence Army, Aung San, she has gained much popularity

Learning From The Learning Being An Active Participant
Learning comes from the learning being an active participant
This is a huge concept that contributes to children actually learning and remembering knowledge. It s
partly the teachers job to create effective learning experiences for the students to want to be active
participants. Over and over again I hear in all my education courses to make learning meaningful to
students and this is why. Students differ in several aspects and the teacher has to do the best he/she can
to ingenue the students. I don t want to be a mechanic in life and if you stuck me in a class about
automotive I would most likely be bored to death. However, concepts about automotive knowledge
might be more meaningful and memorable to me if the concepts are relatable to my life or interesting.
Anything can be made interesting or appealing with the right learning tools and methods. Teachers
need to use what they know about their students to engage active participation. You can t throw a
bunch of knowledge out for them and expect them to learn it, which connects to another key to the
learning science. Prior knowledge is the foundation to how we learn new knowledge. Building upon
what students already know creates deeper connections and can strengthen active participation. If
teaching doesn t begin with something relatable to what they already know and believe how can they
apply it in their mind.
Constructivism is a concept that is supported by all the major educational philosophers. Learners are

The Role the Education System Has as an Agent of...
The education system has impacted children in many ways and has helped to shape the future leaders
of society. In this essay my focus will be from the Conflict/ Marxist perspective, which proposes that
the education system is structured in such a way that some persons will benefit from it more than
others and that it is intended to cause social reproduction of inequality. Sociologists and economists
Herbert Gintis and Samuel Bowles argue (as cited in Haralambos and Holborn, 2004 p. 698) that there
is a close correspondence between the social relationships which govern personal interaction in the
work place and the social relationships of the education system. The education system in today s
society is considered one of the most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Ballantine and Hammack. (2009) critics argue that schools are reproducing social classes
and maintaining the social hierarchy with education policies and practices that select students for
higher track. Yet some policies such as testing give the appearance of equality. This argument can be
used to relate to the situation of the education system present in the Antiguan society, where it is
training and placing persons in society. The Common Entrance Exam (CEE) and the Caribbean
Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) are forms of testing for both primary and secondary students
to display their intelligence and have the opportunity to lay the ground work to become a successful
individual later on in life. It is said to be a fair form of testing where no matter your social class in
society you have equal opportunity to, in the case of the Common Entrance Exam, get the best form of
secondary education, and with the CSEC, gain a tertiary level education. However, this concept of
equal opportunity through the policy of testing in this instance is somewhat flawed, since persons who
are in the Upper class who have the means and the capital through which to access the best form of
education often do. These persons are often able to acquire the necessary help for their children to do
well in the Common Entrance Exams and therefore get the best form of education, or they decide to

Research Study On Data Collection Methods
Data Collection Methods This research study would use paper and pencil method, an achievement
test. The participants would be taking a progress monitoring test. This type of method is appropriate
for the study because it gives accurate data about student s abilities before the start of the research
study. It is also used at the end of the study for the scores can be compared between each class and
initial scores.
Instruments
First off, the students would take a progress monitoring test. The test would be a reading progress
monitoring test to determine where the students are at before the research experiment and again at the
end of the experiment. The test is called R CBM. The R CBM is a one minute test that requires the
student to read aloud. The test consists of three passages. The student will read three one minute
passages and the median score is taken. Based on the students reading level, and grade level is how
the teacher will know what the student will read. Special education teachers are given district progress
monitoring binders that contain different passages for reading levels and grade levels. The type of data
would be interval data. The type of data would be interval because it measures cognitive ability. A
progress monitoring test would be like an achievement test because it measures a student s current
proficiency. It provides information about what the student has learned.
Procedure of Test
The researcher would tell the two special education teachers to

What Is A Foreign Learning Experience
What kind of foreign language learning experiences have you had?
My first foreign language learning experiences go back to 1993 when I went to the English Institute.
That was located in Benghazi, and run by professionals from Garyounis University. I learnt how to
speak. I had to learn a short dialogue every day by heart. The students were given a short dialogue, as
a home work, to read and learn by heart with learning the implication. No listening or writing skills.
Only Reading and Speaking. Grammar points were pointed out by the teacher and explained. Also, the
teacher would monitor our pronunciation and make correction when necessary. The learning process
was mainly reading, memorizing and come the next day and practice what had been learnt with other
learners.

I believe that a learner must be a high flier and ambitious to learn the language. I don t believe in

important and can make the whole class contribute and get into interaction. This will help learners to
overcome their embarrassment and break the ice.
Despite the long years of experiences and working as second language teacher, I still feel not satisfied
with my standard.
I believe my experience in teaching EFL in an English language environment has benefited me a lot,

I would like to think my experience of teaching English to both adults and children has allowed me to

First Amendment In Schools
As the First Amendment protects the freedom of speech to all Americans, there needs to be some sort
of limit on when students go overboard. There are many different types of speech in which it can
cause disruptions in the classroom when teachers and students state their own opinions that don t
always go with what the others agree with. Things such as the place of where they speak these things
are affective to whether their claims are legal or illegal on any school campus. When students cause a
disruption, even across the street from a school supervised event while promoting illegal drug use like
Joseph Frederick did, it needs to be stopped as soon as possible whether it goes against the freedom of
a student s speech or not. In the court case ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
No matter what people do, everybody will have their own opinions on things and will have their ways
of how they want to communicate it to other people. The different communications involve politics,
problems, religion, talking over the phone, etc. In You ve Been Warned: Speech Under Fire, it says, A
majority of college students believe universities should restrict which kinds of expression are allowed
on campuses (Robby Soave). There is a lot of talk that happens on college campus that offend people
and even students believe that we should be limited on the things that they say. Another issue that has
occurred with college campus freedom of speech is said by Catherine Rampell when a college
professor was speaking of her opinions politically and a student had recorded her in the classroom.
That student had posted it on the internet where it had gone viral and even got onto Fox News where
they referred to the words she told the students to be an assault. This professor received threats and
riots to get her fired which required her to flee her state for safety. When she was teaching her class
and claiming her opinions it was obvious that she was a liberal so according to the Knight Foundation
Survey, it claims that, colleges should be able to restrict campus speech that expresses political views
that are upsetting or

The Impact Of Post Impressionism
In the late 19th century, younger artists found themselves frustrated within the confinements of
Impressionism rules. Consequently, they wanted to challenge these limitations to focus on the
structural, emotional and symbolic elements within their works. So, what mark did the Post
Impressionism Movement leave within the story of Art ? The Impressionism Movement affected the
evolution of modern art. This is due to the introduction of painting en plein air and the style which is
recognisable by short brushstrokes, intense pure colour and natural light.Consequently, landscapes
both in the city and the countryside became their most natural and influential subject. Emerging artists

Introduction The goals of the organization cannot be fulfilled without the skills or talent of the
employees and a direction to apply them. The employees will have goals, actions, and behaviors to

and current employees stay on track. Appraising an employee may affect their base pay, promotional
status, and retention decisions. The employees who are found to have deficiencies may be identified

Those who may use the different methods to evaluate the employee s performance include the
immediate supervisor, peers, committees, anonymous subordinates, and a 360 degree feedback, which
is all or some of the personnel listed and others outside the organization the employee has direct
contact. The simplest method is the graphic rating scale. It lists several job dimensions or traits,
competencies, or specific goals, and a range of performance values like below expectations, above
average, and role model. The supervisor is the evaluator who then totals the rating for the overall
evaluation. For companies who have a number of employees to rate may elect to use the alternation
ranking method. During the process, the employees rated are in a list. The staff unknown is crossed
out. The dimensions are listed and the best performing employee is mentioned at the top and worst at
the bottom, then alternates to the last employee. Similar to the alternation method, is the paired
comparison method. Listing all the traits and employees, the rater puts a plus or negative next to the
employee who pairs with the trait. The employee with the most plus signs is the highest ranking. The
force distribution method may work for some larger companies that can afford to terminate lower
ranking employees while others would rather work to build those on the bottom percent up to a higher

The Causes Of Professional Football
Nobody who ever gave his best regretted it said George S. Halas, former Chicago Bears head coach. I
do not share this same opinion. Professional football is a game of intense passion, aggression, and
power. I asked myself, how can a game that brings so much joy and comradery to America be so
dangerous? Football is known for its memorable game winning touchdowns and hard hits the players
receive. That is what we see on the news and in the papers. We don t see all the injuries these players
develop over time, all the pain they go through. Professional football causes not only physical injuries
but mental injuries that can lead to drug use. This is a very hard topic to write about because it is a
sport we have all come to know and love, but the truth of the mater is that our professional football
players are getting hurt. During a regular football season 9.1% of professional football players injure
their ankle or foot, 50.4% of players injure their leg and knees, 11.9% injure their back and spine,
16.9% their shoulder and arm, and 4.3% injure their neck. The healing process of these injuries can be
as little as 2 days but up to 20 weeks. The impact these players receive from hitting and running into
each other is not something the human body was made for. The wear and tear one s body goes through
is painful and can lead to long term injuries even after they have ended their football career, such as
arthritis and joint pain. Professional players suffer from broken bones,

Synthetic Polymers Built Up From Multiple Chemical...
GENERAL INTRODUCTION
Plastics are commonly used substances which play an important role in almost every aspect of our
lives. The widespread generation of plastics waste needs proper end of life management. The highest
amount of plastics is found in containers and packaging s (i.e. bottles, packaging, cups etc.), but they
also are found in durables (e.g. tires, building materials, furniture, etc.) and disposable goods (e.g.
medical devices). Diversity of plastics applications is related with their specific properties, low
density, easy processing, good mechanical properties, good chemical resistance, excellent thermal and
electrical insulating properties and low cost ( in comparison to other materials) [1].
Polyesters are a class of synthetic polymers built up from multiple chemical repeating units linked
together by ester (CO O) groups. Polyesters display a wide array of properties and practical
applications. Permanent press fabrics, disposable soft drink bottles, compact discs, rubber tires, and
enamel paints represent only a few of the products made from this group [2].
Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) is the most commonly used thermoplastic polyester. It is often
called just polyester which often causes confusion, because polyester resins are thermosetting
materials. PET is a transparent polymer, with a good mechanical properties and good dimensional
stability under variable load. Moreover, PET has good gas barrier properties and good chemical
resistance [3].

Sandy Hook Shooting Thesis
On a tragic December day many families saw their children for the last time. They would soon find
out that their children s school had been the site of a school shooting. Adam Lanza killed many
innocent lives and society could possibly benefit from these harsh actions. What would you do if you

Although the Sandy Hook shooting was a tragic day in history, society can benefit from this.

The Pros And Cons Of Intellectual Property
Intellectual property as is perceived globally has been in existence as long humankind. However, the
rights and laws pertaining to intellectual property have been recognised and afforded protection only
in recent years. This can be attributed to the global shift from the bygone industrial revolution to the
ongoing knowledge revolution. The developed nations of the world appraised that knowledge in its
various forms is what is more profitable in terms of trade and development leading to what is known
as the knowledge economy . Rapid advancements in technology and the requirement to stay ahead of
global competitors lead to intellectual property becoming a keystone to country, tying its survival in
global markets to the protection for intellectual property afforded by it. The several forms in which
intellectual property manifests itself had led to the introduction of copyrights, patents, trademarks, and
various other mechanisms by which protection is ensured.
The World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO), established by the WIPO Convention of 1967,
states that Intellectual Property refers to creations of the mind: inventions; literary and artistic works;
and symbols, names, and images used in commerce .
This indicates that, as opposed to corporeal property, that consists of personal and real property which

If someone s well being, happiness and health was ignored for the sake of entertainment, would we allow it? These are the conditions thousands of animals have to endure everyday. If they aren t acceptable for humans, they aren t acceptable for animals. While many may believe animals in entertainment attractions are well taken care of, they are abused daily and are forced to perform. In their study, they found that two to four million visiting tourists financially supported attractions that contribute to large scale animal abuse. Also, they discovered that 80 percent of TripAdvisor reviewers did not realize that the attractions were not animal friendly (Bale 2015). The larger bags were for the garbage we collected, the smaller bags were for recyclable items (such as aluminum cans and glass bottles), and the flags were for needles and similar items that we could not collected safely. We divided into two group and headed in opposite directions up the beach to collect all the debris we could find. Over my stretch of beach, I mostly found Styrofoam and a wide variety of plastics including water bottles, lighters, pens, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, beyond that, this is a subject that is of great importance to me. My long term goal is to become a marine biologist and as such the health of the ocean is of the utmost importance to me. Over the last few years I have chosen to research and write about environmental issue. One of the main issues I researched was the Great Pacific Garbage Patch and how plastics in the ocean affect marine life. Because of that, I understand the true impact that any debris, and particularly plastics, have in the ocean. They entangle animals, hinder their digestion, and transport of invasive species, to name just some examples. For these reasons, I believe that preventing debris from entering the ocean is paramount. I realize that participating in one beach cleanup is not going to save the ocean and the real problem lies in how humanity is using plastics. However, I want to help contributions the wellbeing of the ocean. Ultimately, that is why I participated in a beach cleanup event. Furthermore, Indianola is close to my home, so I was not only benefitting the ocean, but my local community as well. While I cannot solve the ocean garbage problem, I would like to be part of the solution, not the problem. Participating in beach cleanup events is my way of doing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Scoring a tri is achieved by placing the ball in the opponents tri zone . Played on a 70m long by 50m wide field over a 45 minute time period, the game consists on two 20 minutes blocks of play with a five minute half time break. 2.0 Three energy systems Energy is defined as the capacity for vigorous activity, and to ensure a continuous and sufficient supply of energy for all daily activities, there are three energy systems that work together. These systems are the ATP PC system, the anaerobic glycolytic system and the aerobic system. Each system produces a different chemical energy from different sources at different speeds. Both the ATP CP system and anaerobic glycolytic systems are anaerobic systems, meaning oxygen is not used to synthesise ATP. As a result, these systems produce energy quicker however they do not last very long. Comparatively, the aerobic system heavily relies on oxygen to synthesise ATP. As the chemical process uses oxygen to produce energy, it is more complex than the anaerobic processes. The aerobic system takes longer to produce energy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The experiences and personalities of these men play a critical element in the first majority vote in deciding the verdict of guilty or not guilty. Juror #3, #10, and #11 were very influential in that their opinions and thoughts on the case were determined by their own personal bias. Therefore, a person s behavior, opinions, and thoughts are reflected on how that person feels on the inside. Juror #3 is against the boy that is being tried and very biased towards him; this results in how he acts during the meeting and what his thoughts are regarding the case. First published in the 1970 s this remains a useful concept as it differentiates between the unavoidable irreversible primary injury and the potentially avoidable secondary one (Adams 1977). Primary brain injury occurs immediately at the time of injury, whereas secondary injury is a cascade of events that contributes to intracranial hypertension resulting in a reduction in cerebral perfusion pressure and ischaemia (Marmarou 1991). The cerebral perfusion pressure (CPP) is determined by the Monro Kellie hypothesis. In closed head injuries, the skull has a fixed volume and the pressure within it is determined by the equilibrium between the CPP, the mean arterial pressure (MAP) and the intracranial pressure (ICP) using the equation: CPP = MAP − ICP Therefore, assuming a constant blood pressure, as ICP rises CPP must fall. Minimising the ICP, should minimise ischaemia and brain damage resulting from localised pressure thus leading to a global increase in perfusion and therefore oxygen delivery to the brain. There is class I evidence that cooling to a mild hypothermic state of ≤35oC reduces intracranial hypertension by limiting cerebral oedema. And soon you ll assume the client wants to change the whole creative direction rather than simply make a minor tweak. In this essay my focus will be from the Conflict/ Marxist perspective, which proposes that the education system is structured in such a way that some persons will benefit from it more than others and that it is intended to cause social reproduction of inequality. Sociologists and economists Herbert Gintis and Samuel Bowles argue (as cited in Haralambos and Holborn, 2004 p. 698) that there is a close correspondence between the social relationships which govern personal interaction in the work place and the social relationships of the education system. The education system in today s society is considered one of the most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Ballantine and Hammack. (2009) critics argue that schools are reproducing social classes and maintaining the social hierarchy with education policies and practices that select students for higher track. Yet some policies such as testing give the appearance of equality. This argument can be used to relate to the situation of the education system present in the Antiguan society, where it is training and placing persons in society. The Common Entrance Exam (CEE) and the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) are forms of testing for both primary and secondary students to display their intelligence and have the opportunity to lay the ground work to become a successful individual later on in life. It is said to be a fair form of testing where no matter your social class in society you have equal opportunity to, in the case of the Common Entrance Exam, get the best form of secondary education, and with the CSEC, gain a tertiary level education. However, this concept of equal opportunity through the policy of testing in this instance is somewhat flawed, since persons who are in the Upper class who have the means and the capital through which to access the best form of education often do. These persons are often able to acquire the necessary help for their children to do well in the Common Entrance Exams and therefore get the best form of education, or they decide to pay ... The participants would be taking a progress monitoring test. This type of method is appropriate for the study because it gives accurate data about student s abilities before the start of the research study. It is also used at the end of the study for the scores can be compared between each class and initial scores. Instruments First off, the students would take a progress monitoring test. The test would be a reading progress monitoring test to determine where the students are at before the research experiment and again at the end of the experiment. The test is called R CBM. The R CBM is a one minute test that requires the student to read aloud. The test consists of three passages. The student will read three one minute passages and the median score is taken. Based on the students reading level, and grade level is how the teacher will know what the student will read. Special education teachers are given district progress monitoring binders that contain different passages for reading levels and grade levels. The type of data would be interval data. The type of data would be interval because it measures cognitive ability. A progress monitoring test would be like an achievement test because it measures a student s current proficiency. It provides information about what the student has learned. Procedure of Test The researcher would tell the two special education teachers to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. What Is A Foreign Learning Experience What kind of foreign language learning experiences have you had? My first foreign language learning experiences go back to 1993 when I went to the English Institute. That was located in Benghazi, and run by professionals from Garyounis University. I learnt how to speak. I had to learn a short dialogue every day by heart. The students were given a short dialogue, as a home work, to read and learn by heart with learning the implication. No listening or writing skills. Only Reading and Speaking. Grammar points were pointed out by the teacher and explained. Also, the teacher would monitor our pronunciation and make correction when necessary. The learning process was mainly reading, memorizing and come the next day and practice what had been learnt with other learners. Having finished my secondary school studies, ... Classroom activities are important and can make the whole class contribute and get into interaction. This will help learners to overcome their embarrassment and break the ice. Despite the long years of experiences and working as second language teacher, I still feel not satisfied with my standard. I believe my experience in teaching EFL in an English language environment has benefited me a lot, though. • 33. First Amendment In Schools As the First Amendment protects the freedom of speech to all Americans, there needs to be some sort of limit on when students go overboard. There are many different types of speech in which it can cause disruptions in the classroom when teachers and students state their own opinions that don t always go with what the others agree with. Things such as the place of where they speak these things are affective to whether their claims are legal or illegal on any school campus. When students cause a disruption, even across the street from a school supervised event while promoting illegal drug use like Joseph Frederick did, it needs to be stopped as soon as possible whether it goes against the freedom of a student s speech or not. There is a lot of talk that happens on college campus that offend people and even students believe that we should be limited on the things that they say. Another issue that has occurred with college campus freedom of speech is said by Catherine Rampell when a college professor was speaking of her opinions politically and a student had recorded her in the classroom. That student had posted it on the internet where it had gone viral and even got onto Fox News where they referred to the words she told the students to be an assault. This professor received threats and riots to get her fired which required her to flee her state for safety. Consequently, they wanted to challenge these limitations to focus on the structural, emotional and symbolic elements within their works. So, what mark did the Post Impressionism Movement leave within the story of Art ? The Impressionism Movement affected the evolution of modern art. This is due to the introduction of painting en plein air and the style which is recognisable by short brushstrokes, intense pure colour and natural light.Consequently, landscapes both in the city and the countryside became their most natural and influential subject. Those who may use the different methods to evaluate the employee s performance include the immediate supervisor, peers, committees, anonymous subordinates, and a 360 degree feedback, which is all or some of the personnel listed and others outside the organization the employee has direct contact. The simplest method is the graphic rating scale. It lists several job dimensions or traits, competencies, or specific goals, and a range of performance values like below expectations, above average, and role model. The supervisor is the evaluator who then totals the rating for the overall evaluation. For companies who have a number of employees to rate may elect to use the alternation ranking method. During the process, the employees rated are in a list. The staff unknown is crossed out. The dimensions are listed and the best performing employee is mentioned at the top and worst at the bottom, then alternates to the last employee. Similar to the alternation method, is the paired comparison method. Listing all the traits and employees, the rater puts a plus or negative next to the employee who pairs with the trait. The employee with the most plus signs is the highest ranking. The force distribution method may work for some larger companies that can afford to terminate lower ranking employees while others would rather work to build those on the bottom percent up to a higher rate on the ... • 39. The Causes Of Professional Football Nobody who ever gave his best regretted it said George S. Halas, former Chicago Bears head coach. I do not share this same opinion. Professional football is a game of intense passion, aggression, and power. I asked myself, how can a game that brings so much joy and comradery to America be so dangerous? Football is known for its memorable game winning touchdowns and hard hits the players receive. That is what we see on the news and in the papers. We don t see all the injuries these players develop over time, all the pain they go through. Professional football causes not only physical injuries but mental injuries that can lead to drug use. This is a very hard topic to write about because it is a sport we have all come to know and love, but the truth of the mater is that our professional football players are getting hurt. During a regular football season 9.1% of professional football players injure their ankle or foot, 50.4% of players injure their leg and knees, 11.9% injure their back and spine, 16.9% their shoulder and arm, and 4.3% injure their neck. The healing process of these injuries can be as little as 2 days but up to 20 weeks. The impact these players receive from hitting and running into each other is not something the human body was made for. The wear and tear one s body goes through is painful and can lead to long term injuries even after they have ended their football career, such as arthritis and joint pain. • 40. Synthetic Polymers Built Up From Multiple Chemical... GENERAL INTRODUCTION Plastics are commonly used substances which play an important role in almost every aspect of our lives. The widespread generation of plastics waste needs proper end of life management. The highest amount of plastics is found in containers and packaging s (i.e. bottles, packaging, cups etc.), but they also are found in durables (e.g. tires, building materials, furniture, etc.) and disposable goods (e.g. medical devices). Diversity of plastics applications is related with their specific properties, low density, easy processing, good mechanical properties, good chemical resistance, excellent thermal and electrical insulating properties and low cost ( in comparison to other materials) [1]. Polyesters are a class of synthetic polymers built up from multiple chemical repeating units linked together by ester (CO O) groups. Polyesters display a wide array of properties and practical applications. Permanent press fabrics, disposable soft drink bottles, compact discs, rubber tires, and enamel paints represent only a few of the products made from this group [2]. Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) is the most commonly used thermoplastic polyester. It is often called just polyester which often causes confusion, because polyester resins are thermosetting materials. PET is a transparent polymer, with a good mechanical properties and good dimensional stability under variable load. Moreover, PET has good gas barrier properties and good chemical resistance [3]. ... • 42. The Pros And Cons Of Intellectual Property Intellectual property as is perceived globally has been in existence as long humankind. However, the rights and laws pertaining to intellectual property have been recognised and afforded protection only in recent years. This can be attributed to the global shift from the bygone industrial revolution to the ongoing knowledge revolution. The developed nations of the world appraised that knowledge in its various forms is what is more profitable in terms of trade and development leading to what is known as the knowledge economy . Rapid advancements in technology and the requirement to stay ahead of global competitors lead to intellectual property becoming a keystone to country, tying its survival in global markets to the protection for intellectual property afforded by it. The several forms in which intellectual property manifests itself had led to the introduction of copyrights, patents, trademarks, and various other mechanisms by which protection is ensured. The World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO), established by the WIPO Convention of 1967, states that Intellectual Property refers to creations of the mind: inventions; literary and artistic works; and symbols, names, and images used in commerce .
